This is a song by English alternative rock band Kasabian. It was released on 17 March 2017 as the first single from their sixth studio album, 'For Crying Out Loud' (2017). It peaked at No. 62 on the UK Singles Chart in 2017, the first time a lead single from a Kasabian album failed to reach the top 40 in the country. It was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for chart sales exceeding 600,000 units in the UK in August 2022. It also won "Best Song of 2017" at the Q Awards.

The song received mixed to positive reviews from critics upon release. Will Hankey from The Edge gave the song 3/5 stars, stating that the track "starts very well, opening with a Krautrock-like surge forward that soon anchors into Kasabian's familiar territory of live hip-hop beats [but] while this is amiable and still an enjoyable listen, the song still never really goes anywhere"

The music video for the single was released on 30 March 2017 and was directed by W.I.Z. It features frequent Kasabian collaborator Noel Fielding and actor Stephen Graham, as well as members of Kasabian and Bhangra dance group Four by Four. They all play inmates of the fictional West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, a nod to the title of the band's third album.

99 Perspectives on a Single Love Story #7 (+Bonus Scene)

A/N: The Story of Kurt and Blaine told through the eyes of everyone else but them. Each chapter is a different perspective in the ongoing tale of their love story.

I started something like this a while back - and now I’m taking the idea and really running with it. Each chapter is a ficlet of a different character at a different point in Kurt and Blaine’s life - documenting their love story. This starts in Audition, and each chapter will be paired with a different episode until reaching Dreams Come True.

I’m using this as a fun writing experiment for a) writing short things and b) writing things from a multitude of varying perspectives. Have fun! :)

Holly Holliday : The Substitute

Another day, another successful class wrapped up and forgotten about. Life as a substitute teacher is thrilling as it is unstable, not that Holly minds either. Bringing a smile to the kids’ faces and then getting the hell out of there is what she lives for - that and a really good bottle of chardonnay. Nothing beats helping out these glee kids, though. She isn’t sure what kind of drab lesson plan Will Schuester keeps giving these kids, but in the past week, they’ve certainly come alive. It brightens her day. That is why she became a teacher in the first place, right? To help the kids?

“Ms. Holliday, would you mind if I have a private word?” The boy who had asked her to sub for Mr. Schuester pulls her aside after glee officially ends. He’s sweet, but god if she can remember his name right now. Kirk? No, Kurt. It’s definitely one of the two. She won’t be around next week, so no need to figure it out .

“Of course you can,” she says with a broad grin. “I would gladly like to help you out with whatever I can.”

“I was wondering if…” he looks around, waiting for his classmates to leave the room. Oh, this must be juicy. He tries again, this time in a lower voice. “I was wondering if you knew how to tell when you’re out with a... a person whether it’s a date or not. See, I have this friend, and lately we’ve been going out to lunch a lot, and he pays of course, and we text all the time, and he asked me to go to the theater with him tomorrow. And I keep waffling on whether I should gussy up for my possible first date or should I play it cool, you know, cause he didn’t say this was a date and I’m totally misinterpreting things and I make a fool of myself or something. God, I would never recover.”

Holly puts her head on her hand, endeared. This kid is too sweet in his earnestness. Ah, to be young and not so jaded anymore.

“Look, I’m going to be real honest with you about this - guys, they be kinda dumb sometimes,” she says, amused as his eyes go wide. “Just last week, I had a guy ask me to one of those superhero movies -- and don’t get me wrong, I love me some explosions and some dreamy Robert Downey Jr., but not the most romantic choice for a date, so I was pretty straightforward. Were we on a date? He said yes, I said yes, and then some explosions happened in the bedroom.”

The kid looks at her a little uneasy. Oops, probably shouldn’t have said that last part because he still is a minor. God, she just loves to talk too much and has too little a filter.

“...Anyway,” she continues. “My point is, whether your style is all glammed up or casual and cool - be your authentic self. Make sure you’re both on the same page. Remember - consent is important no matter what type of relationship it is. And whatever it turns out to be, it is.”

“Thank you so much, Ms. Holliday!” the kid says excitedly. “I have to go raid my wardrobe, who am I kidding, friend or something more, it’s always worth it to dress to impress.” He smiles giddily.

“Best of luck with your date, Kirk!” she says as he scurries away.

Ah, another job well done. Now, to see that girl about the tater tots…

BONUS : Mercedes Jones

Things are changing, that much she understands. He had been so withdrawn when school had started, and even more so after his father’s heart attack. Mercedes has done all she can to reach out to her friend, to help him through what he’s going through. But there is only so much she could do, and she recognizes that.

However, in the past week, something has definitely shifted. Kurt seems… brighter than usual? She has never seen Kurt this giddy, and that includes the time they stumbled upon a garage sale where Kurt had found an authentic replica of a pair of gloves Audrey Hepburn had worn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

“Hey, Kurt, how was your weekend?” Mercedes asks Monday morning as they slide into their homeroom desks. She had been a little bummed that Kurt had to bail on bowling to see a show with his new friend, Blaine, but she had ended up going to the mall with Tina, and scored some great new shoes that she couldn’t wait to show Kurt. Unfortunately, Kurt is busy texting away, and hadn’t even noticed her sit down.

“Kurt?”

Kurt’s fingers are flying.

“Kurt!”

He jumps in his seat, startled.

“Oh, hey Mercedes,” he says.

“Do I even need to ask who you’re texting?”

A guilty look crosses Kurt’s face. “Um, sorry, Blaine was just texting me that he had just read that the latest bachelorette just split with her beau. Which, of course she did. That’s what she gets for not choosing the guy she let go in week seven. Blaine totally agrees.”

“So, am I ever going to meet him?” Mercedes asks.

“Who, the guy from the Bachelorette?”

“No, silly, Blaine,” Mercedes says. As irritating as it had been over the last week to listen to Kurt go on and on about Blaine, she has to admit her curiosity has been stirred. “Maybe we should all hang out. You’ve jibber-jabbered about him non-stop all week. I think I’ve earned the right to check this guy out for you.”

Kurt scrunches his nose. “Really, Mercedes?”

“Of course! I mean, he’s obviously important to you if you’ve already got him gossiping about The Bachelorette.”

His cheeks begin to blush a deep shade of red. “Well, okay. Maybe we can try getting together at Breadstix. Blaine has never been there. He swears that this little family owned Italian restaurant near his house has the best chicken Alfredo on the planet, but I doubt they have Breadstix’s breadsticks. Why don’t we go tomorrow night? I’ll text him right now.”

Kurt bends over his phone, ready to text again when the screen lights up. He bursts out laughing, wiggling in his seat. Mercedes raises an eyebrow at him. “Blaine just texted ‘I want it deep purple,’ which is…” he can barely finish he is laughing so hard. “It’s something we overheard this guy say when we went to Rent on Friday. We think he was one of the understudies or a disgruntled second director or something. And he said the funniest thing. Blaine does the funniest impression of it and….it’s kind of an inside joke. But I’ll get Blaine to do the impression for you when you meet him.”

Great, I get to be the third wheel. Mercedes sinks a little lower in her chair. Things are definitely changing indeed.

Like many people of many different faiths (or lack thereof), Bible teacher Beth Moore.was horrified by the recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. Moore was particularly appalled that the murderers purported to invoke Jesus Christ to justify their hatred, racism, and white supremacy. So she took to Twitter to condemn them:

“Any ‘Christ’ that can be invoked in support of white nationalism is a false Christ of the highest, most hellish order. An anti-Christ. A wholly-opposite christ. No such christ is the Christ Jesus of Scripture who taught His followers a love that sacrifices life & limb for others.

“Let it be known, let it be declared by genuine followers of Jesus, that the man who opened fire in El Paso may invoke a christ of some kind but it is NOT our Christ. His christ would be unrecognizable to us. Unrecognizable in Scripture. We claim no christ of white nationalism.”

She then encouraged other Christian leaders to do the same instead of remaining silent:

“Christian leaders, LEAD. Do not shrink back in cowardice. Be bold. Be clear. Do not assume people know where you stand. History will prove this to be a most critical hour and our silence to have been our shameful complicity.”

You might not think this would be a controversial stance, especially among self-professed “Christians.” You would, of course, be wrong.

“A president who spews racism doesn’t seem to rankle those Christians, but a woman who refuses to be silent is doing the trick.”

Some “Christians” evidently interpreted Moore’s stance against racism and white supremacy as an attack on themselves, so naturally they attacked her right back. For example:

“YOU, are not healing. YOU are divisive.... YOU should leave you SBC denomination and find one that fits your current mood.”

“You are falsely accusing others, while you need to stop compromising the word of the Lord.”

“Not sure who you are referring to as ‘Christian leaders’? Do you mean high profile leaders like yourself and @jenhatmaker? Because I’m sort of not impressed with what I see.”

“We actually need more Christian servants than ‘leaders’. Who are more focused on the great commission than political soap boxes. Who are concerned about protecting the sheep rather than protecting their own powerful positions and book sale profits.”

“Enlighten us which christian leaders are white supremacists. Names please so we can call them out.”

“Christian women, it is not your job to lead! Step back and let the men lead.”

“Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. — James 3:1. Think long and hard about this verse Beth.”

“I’m deeply saddened that so many are trying to equate being pro american or Christian with being a white supremacist.”

“Lead with the word of God and don’t try to ‘nuance’ it to fit a social construct.”

“Speak about WHAT? This is the lamest thread ever. Generalities combined with a platitude.”

“We need pastors to preach the word of God, not to get into politics.”

“Beth Moore sides with prevailing cultural opinion to lavish praise... ...she would have done the same in 1960”

“These so-called Christians remind me of Matthew 7:21-23 And he will say ‘Depart from me you workers of lawlessness, I never knew you.’”

“Stop. Stop weighing in on politics. It takes our eyes off of the King of Kings and adds to the chaos of this world. Just preach truth. I’m a Christian and your turning ME off.”

“I can't listen to you anymore. Beth. So disappointed.”

“Did you feel that during the 37 shootings on Obama’s watch?”

“So I guess you were complicit in the attempted suppression of Christians from 2008-2016?”

“Someone who isn’t bold and clear has no business telling others to be bold and clear.”

“So, the exact opposite of your example?”

“She’s calling leaders to do those exact things that she herself would not do. And has repeatedly refused to do.”

“I like this one. It means, ‘Yes! Everyone do all these things but personally, I’m not gonna.’”

“Follow the money. The more popular you are, the more books you sell, the more money you get.”

“Quit viewing current events through the media and through the internet. Become your own investigator. I read the FBI reports, the things that don’t fit the storyline of the news.”

“What is this jibber jabber”

“How is it possible for a sentient being to have that low a level of self-awareness?”

Other “Christians” ignored Moore’s actual tweets and changed the subject, preferring to castigate and mock her for daring to address the mass shootings instead of their own pet “Christian” issues that they deem more important: to wit, hating homosexuals and abortions. For example:

“The 450 ladies of the open letter patiently await your clear response on the sin of sodomy.”

“So u are vocal now about homosexual sin, yes?”

“So does this mean you will actually answer the questions being asked about the Bible and homosexuality or are you gonna continue to shrink back in cowardice.”

“Like your silence when asked simple questions regarding whether or not your views of homosexuality have changed?”

“This comes from one that refuses to clarify where she stands on homosexuality. How about being bold and stand up for the truth? Your expectations of others is unacceptable when you refuse to do the same! Will God not tolerate your hypocrisy?”

“Where do you stand on homosexuality. No one knows. Be bold, Beth.”

“Adults are murdering little kids legally in America. We should all be speaking about this Holocaust more than we speak about anything else.”

“You do understand that adults are murdering little children in this nation? All other issues Pale to adults murdering children ‘Legally’ In the US.”

“We have heard ZERO from Beth on this issue. Even when NY passed abortion up to birth, crickets.”

Oooh 😯, that dinner 🍴 hit the spot 🎯. I was wondering 💭 if there was enough protein. I am pretty jibber jabber and my Dad keeps on shutting me up on my new bags 💼 which I shall discuss soon. I didn’t eat the apple 🍎. I am waiting for my iPad to charge 🔌 and Jamesy 🐈 is hanging out with me. He is so handsome and I am giving him lots of love 💕, affection 😍, kisses 😘 and hugs 🤗. I enjoyed 😊 the morsels. I am not an olive fan and gave them away. The Greek flavor was 🥄 great on my palate 👅. I don’t think 💭 I had enough veggies 🥬🥒🌽🥕🍠🥔🥦🥑🍆🍅. I was hoping I would have more of them than grains 🍚. It’s like clean, fresh, healthy like Chipotle. Buddha bowl 🍲. Hipster 🤓.

So for the main thing...

I checked the bags 🎒 for durability. I know I got them cheap 🏷 and I care about them lasting long. That’s why I don’t mind getting a $135 sale 💲💲💲💲product at Lululemon. I don’t have to change bags every year 📆 . If you ask me what the brand is like, it is between a Jansport and a Northface. The design of the stuffs are actually the winner 🏆. The pattern on the fabric is yay 😃 🎉. Better, the materials are unique, fits your lifestyle and makes the design. It didn’t fit my binder 📋 so I have to get a clipboard. I need cotton balls from Target too. My Mom said not to get more retail 🛍 which dampers my mood a little and enthusiasm 😆 . It’s like what am I suppose to do with myself. Set a side a money 💵 I would never touch because I decided I should not live my life. Heck, no. I am suppose to be living my life and not tied with ribbons 🎀 as if you can turn me in whatever direction you want. What’s worse is use me like a pulley to hoist you up 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.

I decided I am using the smaller backpack tomorrow. I gave away my Under Armour. My Mom thinks the stolen items in my closet 👠 👗 are like going to be left untouch. Oh my gawd, the beggars fighting over your scrappies. LOL 😂.

I tried on my yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️ thievery equipments on my haulers. I am happy 😃 that the foam roller is going fit on the shoe 👟 compartment in the crossbod and it has a lot of room 🚪 for other things.

I find them very functional. They didn’t cheap out on making the items. I paid more definitely little than what they are priced reasonably. Ugh 😑, water 💦. Powershell Sripts with Task Scheduler

In today's show, we wan na how save our powershell script to a file and then we're gon na run that file using a Windows scheduled task. So that way you can get an automated solution right. You want to play hooky, but still get your powershell scripts to run. This is the video for you, but first here's our intro [ Applause, ], [, Music, ] hi. My name is Shane Young with bold zebras. Those guys in today's show is all about taking your powershell scripts and saving them to a file. So then that way we can run them by a schedule task, so we'll walk through saving a file and then we're going to take and make that a scheduled task. We'Ll make it run every 5 minutes just so we can see it run, but it should give you all the mechanics that you need, so you can make more automated solutions right back when I was a full-time administrator where I was all about. How do I automate solutions? So it does the work for me. So I could you know work on my golf game played more solitaire. Look at funny cat videos on their net. Whatever it is you want to do.

I want to help you do it more with PowerShell and this video comes to us thanks to Kenny. I don't want to give Kenny's last name and where he's from, because I haven't heard back from if he wants to plug, but either way mystery Kenny. If you're out there as videos for you alright, this is a reminder that do you guys have questions leave me comments. Send me emails tweets that type of stuff Kenny asked just a great question. I was like man that'd, be a good topic for video, so I was like give me a day I'll pop the sales video for you, real, quick, not actually for him. I might undo his job, but I'm gon na show him all the foundational stuff I'm gon na show you guys at the same time, so leave me the stuff below and we can always hook up where it makes sense.

All right. That'S enough! Jibber-Jabber, let's just dive in by switching over here to my desktop and so on. My desktop I've just opened up the PowerShell ISE and I've just got a couple of quick lines that I wrote nothing complicated here right. You could do any script you want, but I just want to do something that would produce some output, so we could take a look at it. What did I do here? So I said git date and then write that out to a file named e colon demo. We'Ll call this log for video right, we'll rename it log for video text and append. So this going to get the current system date and then output it to a file called log for video in the second line, get PS Drive, says: kids, all the drives. All the file system drives on a machine and then it takes those, and it only gives us the ones that are the file system provided right.

Let'S run this real quick same seat, it looks like so highlight just that hit run, and so you can see it's like right. Your C Drive. You got a hundred six gigs free, your D Drive. You'Ve got almost nothing free e F, so it just runs the different system files. Now I could then take that and I kind of mess with so earlier. I ran out of time, but you could pipe this over to select and only select the particular properties you want or reality. If you're gon na make this, I try log it to an Excel workbook right via a CSV and we've covered all of those topics before in other videos, so check this out. If you're like yeah, that's what I want to do. Don'T worry. I'Ve covered how to write to CSV file, and I you know, format that you can control and uh translate from this.

So anyway, we're gon na take that output. We'Re gon na write that to log for video, also, okay, so append that so, let's run this whole thing one time and see what it should happen so say, run our script and we'll go over here and so there's a log for video just create us a File, if we double click on that, I'm gon na see that it walks Saturday February 10. That'S right dedication here, I'm making this video on a Saturday cuz, well dinners, not ready, and I had a few minutes. So I thought I'd make you video, but anyway, and then you can see, then it followed up here, and so, if we run it a second time when it would close, this run the script again boom. It ran again we'll double click on it, and so then now you can see there's another entry right. This was at 6:09 p.m. in 25 seconds. It took me 24 seconds to get around running in a second time and then there's all the same information. Anyway. We don't really care right.

This video is not about that simple little script. What this video is about is now that we've figured out the power shell that we want to run on a daily weekly hourly by minute basis. How are we going to take and automate that so the first step is we're going to take all this and we're gon na say, save and I've already saved this almost of a save as this time. But I must say this: the ecole and demo and I'm gon na call this video PS right, video, powershell, terrible name, but it works. Cuz i'll know what it was, you probably wouldn't say, save okay, so that was step one. We saved this PowerShell into a ps1 file. So if we look over here, there is a file, video PS and dot ps1. If I didn't type it and I should've, and so that type of file power show can run, writes PowerShell script file.

So, let's minimize this, let's minimize this and now, let's type in start aimless, do with spell tasks correctly. Let'S run the task scheduler now I will make this a little bit bigger. So I am NOT a task schedule guru, so I'm not going to try and tell you the intricacies of all the cool things you can do here. There'S a lot you can do here. What I'm more of the style of is, let's create a basic task. My basic kind of guy so we're going to create a basic task. Click a little link over here, we're gon na, give it a name and call it video automation. We could give it a description. Shane made.

This you'd probably want to make your description a little more descriptive, we'll say next, what's our trigger? How often do I want to run this? I want to do it daily, so we'll say next and then do you want recur every day. You know you can kind of get into really make these schedules anything you want, but we're just gon na go the simple recurs every day and we will do it in a six twelve, thirty, eight, alright, so one minute from now. Hopefully I get this done in one minute, so we'll say next what actions I want. I want to start a program so hit next so for program here. What you need to type in is PowerShell right and so PowerShell dot exe is in the system path. So it's just automatically gon na run, PowerShell dot, exe and then what we're going to do is we're going to pass the PowerShell dot exe de demo. What did I even name, this file? Eco land demo, video PS, PS, one video, PS, PS one.

So that says pirate PowerShell with that parameter which will run that script. Let me say next, it's like hey. Are you happy with all this? I am so we'll say finish now. It took me a minute earlier to figure out where they were hiding these right back to I'm not a PowerShell task edge or MVP, but if we double click on this guy, we then click on the task. Scheduler library in here you'll see my video automation script right, so we run at 6:12. Oh looks like it next run time: six, twelve, thirty, eight, alright! So it's coming got ta go faster, but if yours isn't showing up, I had this problem earlier today. Right, quick right here and then do a refresh and then you should absolutely see what you created right. Well, protip! I do know some things about task scheduler. So now, if we minimize this - and we wait just a few seconds - let's see six twelve.

Oh, it looks like it might array: let's double click on it, so there's our six: nine, six, nine six, twelve thirty eight boom. It'S logged right! So now, tomorrow, at six twelve thirty, eight it's gon na run and put that in there and that's really all you need to know right now. We'Ve got a PowerShell script that is running on a scheduled task that we've set up. You can get into scheduled tasks right if we go back over here to task scheduler and you can right click on this guy and go to properties. And so then you can see there's a whole bunch of stuff. You can do here right. So if you need to do more complex things, but I'm not the right guy teaches and I can bother, but I've gotten you to a PowerShell script that will execute on a scheduled tasks.

I feel like my work is done, I'm starting to smell dinner. So hopefully this was the answer that Kenny was looking for and hopefully the answer you were looking for so Cammy other ideas down below you never know when your idea might turn into these videos so thanks and have a great day hey. FUCK MANAGERS WHO PLAY REALLY OBVIOUS OBNOXIOUS FAVORITES!! FUCK. YOU !!! This is going to be a semi-long one, sorry in advance!

Every week we have a special group of people who come in during closed hours to stock. It's usually me, a manager, and another girl. Sometimes there's an aditional 1-2 people if we have hours.

Manager + other girl are bffs. Literally attached at the hip jibber-jabbering annoying as HELL bffs. They can't do anything apart and don't shut up for one god damn second (and usually it's gossiping about other workers). Then there's me, a semi-new girl, who they all but basically ignore (and it's going on week 6-7 of me being added to this team).

THEY DON'T ACTUALLY DO ANY WORK! Once all the boxes we're stocking are accounted for they send me to the floor to start stocking and it's another 10-20 minutes before the other girl comes out of the stock room. All I hear is loud laughing from the backroom while they're back there alone. When they finally do come out to start stocking with me the manager ALWAYS comes over to me and is like, "we need to hurry up! Let's go!!!"... seriously?

They (the other girl + manager) are CONSTANTLY just standing around talking to each other, walking around getting/eating food/drinking, and SHOPPING. They will literally pull 1 item out of the box to stock and shout halfway across the store for the other one to come over and they chat about the sales and how many they should buy and what varieties there are on sale and make HUGE to-buy piles for when the store opens.

Here's my real complaint: Not only do they basically forget I'm there since I'm not part of their special clique but the manager CONSTANTLY hounds me to work faster. I put away 1-2 boxes before they mosey out of the stock room eating breakfast and I'm told HURRY UP WE HAVE A LOT TO DO!! 2 hours into my shift I pause for 30-seconds near my current box to take a 10-second breather and I'm SCREAMED at accross the store to 'HURRY UP, YOU NEED TO WORK FASTER!!" just the other day I was working on restocking the one part of the store which has about 1000 different items from the same 1 brand (that EVERYONE hates doing) and the manager comes up to me and is like, "Listen xx, you need to start working. I would understand you taking so long if you were new, but you're not. Hurry up."..... BITCH. I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY AND STOCK THIS SECTION OF THE STORE ANY GOD DAMN FASTER THAN I AM. There's literally 1000 tiny as FUCK items that I need to categorize CORRECTLY or I get yelled at. I'm working at full speed... with no breaks for 5 hours.... while WATCHING you stand around and do jack shit together.

I almost wanted to cry at the end of my last shift out of the sheer unfairness of it all. I get it that other girl is your bff, but it's NOT FAIR that you stand around all the time and I can't take one 30-second standing break in 5 hours without being bitched at.

My favorite is when the manager screams at me to work harder WHILE standing with the other girl against the registers EATING.

Im not your god damn slave... and it's not 100% up to me to stock your store to prevent you from getting yelled at that it's not all done. You don't need more people on, on our shift... you just need to start fucking working!!

I'M SO MAD!!

tldr: I basically stock the entire store for myself for 5hrs once a week and get screamed at across the store to work faster everytime i stop for 5 seconds to drink my water while manager+other worker/managers bff take 10-minute talking breaks every 5 minutes.

The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! March 2019 Disney Outlet Store Photo Report

Welcome to the latest edition of The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! the longest running monthly look at the Disney Outlet Stores in Orlando. Just as Mickey’s PhilharMagic is going to Disney Parks around the world, this fine blog series is currently being cloned across the interwebs. But you have found the original, with me covering the Disney Character Warehouse on I-Drive and Secret Shopper Ben Wszalek at Vineland (see end of every Outlet Report for more details on each location.) Of course Christela McC is also here with a look at some Outlet items from California, and we saw a lot of crazy stuff this month.

Enough jibber jabber! Ready to see what we we found? Alright, let’s go!

With all the items from Pandora: The World of Avatar that have made their way to the Outlets, I’m surprised the Character Warehouse locations haven’t been renamed to the Windtraders Annex. Even more stuff arrived this month including these light up flip flops designed to look like Na’vi feet. Originally $29.99, now $14.99. And yes, I would have bought a pair if there were adult sizes.

The light up feature itself is meant to echo the “bioluminescence” found in Pandora. Here’s a photograph of the ground in Pandora taken yesterday by theme park photography legend @bioreconstruct. As you can see, it looks great after Disney touched it up. Here’s a close up photo.

I worked myself into a shoot with this Pandora beach towel. I wasn’t going to try and unfold it for a shot at the Outlets, so I brought it home for a picture. Unfortunately I lost my receipt and now don’t know what the price was. Feel confident it was about $7.99 though.

INTERMISSION! Time to head to California and see what @ChristelaMcC found at the Disney Outlet stores out there.

Before we start, Christela sent me a care package this month filled with items from the Cali Disney Outlets, and one of the things she put in the package was this “sorcerer” Mickey hat. Out in California, every morning when the Disney Outlet opens, the first guest is given one of these hats. They can’t do this in Florida because the eBay pirates would trample the Cast Member holding the hat upon opening the door, but it is definitely a neat thing to see at more civilized locations.

From Christela: “So the outlets and Disney stores do a full on ‘opening ceremony.’ At the outlets they roll this huge stand with a book on it to the front doors and a couple of Cast Members come out and tell everyone that the magic went to sleep overnight and ask if there is anyone who would like to help ‘wake up the magic.’

They pick 1 child or adult, if there are no children at opening to help. (On weekdays adults are often the only ones waiting to go in.) The CMs ask that person if they know any magical words. When the guests say it, the CMs get everyone to hold out their hands and shout that magic word to see if it will wake up the magic.

When that doesn’t work, the CMs bring out the hat, put it on the person and ask them to try again. It still doesn’t work, so they point out the words printed on the book and usually say something like “it looks like Mickey is giving us a hint. Maybe we should try saying Let the Magic Begin!” On the count of 3, everyone holds their hands out and yells it and the lights to the store magically turn on. The kids love it.”

Fits like a glove.

Christela also notes that some Disney Outlet Stores have a different ceremony…

“At the stores where they do the key, it’s a much shorter ceremony and the child simply helps them unlock the magic with a huge key and then they’re given a smaller version of the key to keep.”

So for those keeping score, besides this opening ceremony gimmick, out in California they have double sided and seasonal pressed pennies, multiple flavors of churros, along with Pirates of the Caribbean and its a small world rides that blows ours in WDW away. #BeFairToFlorida

This Animal Kingdom 20th Anniversary hat was behind the counter and reduced to $34.99. The brim is made out of wood, and the box was linen covered. The original cost was $75.

I wanted to buy this hat, but trying to submit the purchase for reimbursement would have led to a situation similar to that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine had to travel to Burma in order for J Peterman to sign off on her expenses. Derek: Well, actually I do have a bill here, if you could just sign this expense, I think I could still make the last fan boat out of here. Len Testa: I’d be happy to Derek … but I will have to see this hat.

Also behind the counter was this great Haunted Mansion plush set featuring the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Original price is $69.99 and it didn’t have a reduced sticker on it, so it could be one of the very few items in the store that hasn’t been discounted.

Before we leave this month, I want to point out the newest arrival at the Orlando Premium Outlets on International Drive. A kiosk selling APPLE FRIES appeared, like it was taken straight from my dream journal. Those who have heard me talk about Legoland Florida know how much I love the apple fries there. In fact, I would say it is the single greatest theme park snack. Seeing this kiosk at the Outlets almost brought me to tears.
