102 I agree. From what I see in the photos, the smoking group seems to have a bad vibe. The rest of the members seem to be young ladies who grew up in normal families. In the case of Nitta Eri, she's a little something different, though. Be that as it may, I feel blatantly incongruent with the smoking group.

Tomoda Mamiko, Fukunaga Satomi, Kawai Sonoko, and Tomikawa Harumi are high on my list. Yoshino Kayoko and Kihara Aki are okay. Okuda Mika ain't so bad, but I don't like her expression in her eyes. Enokida Michiko, Nitta Eri, and Nagoya Mika look old. Utsumi Kazuko also looks old, but she has class, so she's okay. Nakajima Miharu, Kokushō Sayuri, and Satō Mayumi are country bumpkins, no matter how you look at them.

That's what it says on Enokida's own resume, and that resume was read by the Comedy duo 99's Okamura Takashi. Then she made a video appearance, but said very little.

None of them are credible, and all of them smell fishy. I'm not sure how many of these are true.

According to my friend who was there, Satō said self-mockingly, "I quit smoking after the birth of my child". She seems to have chatted openly with the guys around her. However, she adamantly refused to be photographed. I should also have attended there, then secretly photographed her.

Yu-Gi-Oh 5ds Descendants: Prolouge?

Note: I don't know how to make titles so I just left it as Descendants. Originally it was meant to be another next gen, but it got changed to descendants. Again, typed out without really reviewing so it won't make much sense. Feel free to point out inconsistencies. This chapter is more of an introduction. Very short. Might make this it's own thing separate from this book.

Summary: Descendants of a group from a long time ago. Very vague.

Carmen Santos knew (saw and was, almost,) everything. (She was the result of an "affair"{Ryota Fudo and Maya Santos}, she was cursed from the start.)

Everything. What would happen, what should happen, what could happen. Even as her skin went from smooth to wrinkled and sagging, even as her nose began to droop, and even as their memory started to wither away, Carmen knew everything. Even if the others (Akiko, Lucio, Usagi) couldn't. Even if her own descendants (though one would try eventually {he'd cause, almost, everything}) couldn't. They knew (saw and was) everything. (Almost.)

Daichi Santos was simply himself. (Carmen, his half-sister, also was, only she possessed abilities that made it harder for her. He didn't, he was grateful.)

Daichi, hot tempered, stubborn, and resilient. Cousin of Robin Atlas. He saw it all (through his eyes, like the rest). When Carmen knew it was him who broke the window, when Usagi gave Akiko a scratch on accident, and when Akiko outed Lucio as the one who snitched Daichi out for sneaking out to meet up with a girl. And, before Daichi died, (a little old, frail and wrinkled, not like Carmen) he still refused. He refused help and only relented once Carmen told him to see his family. Nadia (his beautiful wife) had passed earlier, he wouldn't make the same mistake again.

Akiko Fudo, Carmen's half-sister, a girl who felt everything, and child of Momo (nee Iwai) and Ryota Fudo (son of Seiji and Victoria Fudo {nee Atlas}). (A beloved sister, cousin, wife, grandmother, and soon to be great-grandmother)

Akiko would always stay being herself and refusing to stay ignorant about the past that shaped the present and eventually future. Even if she was afraid. She would live longer than Daichi, along with Sayuri, but not longer than Carmen (no one would). She'd live to see the announcement of her first great-grandchild and died peacefully in the arms of her wife.

Usagi Kawata, a relative of sorts to all Akiko and Carmen, too fearless and loving (for everyone, even herself).

Even through arguments and fights, Usagi tried to understand. She'd later marry her tag duel partner who didn't mind her eccentric habit of dying her hair. They were a good pair and also lived until their 60's. Lucio had given a long speech as her family mourned. (Her great grand-father was the twin brother of Lucio's great grand-mother)

Lucio Nomura, distant cousin to Usagi, too kind and noble (to the life of others instead of himself).

Lucio never married, but he explored the world with Usagi occasionally joining. He'd traveled all over the world and competed in tournaments (like his great-granduncle), sometimes with friends or family. He only died after his return from South America in his late 60's. (Carmen counted that as a blessing, for Lucio began to forget and hallucinate.)

Both Lucio and Usagi had always lived to be role models of sorts for the next generation. (And that was good enough for them). (Carmen was proud.)

Robin Atlas, too stubborn and caring (for his own good {Probably because of the Hogan and Atlas blood in his veins}).

Robin (the last one to remain) would always remain stubborn and caring for others. Even as he too became old and grew grey hairs, Robin stayed happy and always, always, made sure to brag about the stunts he pulled off as a teenager. Later on, he'd ask for his parents and grandparents who would never appear. Like his great-grandfathers, he was surrounded by family as he passed on.

Sayuri Kyosuke, known from a past close family friend and Carmen and Akiko's close friend (later girlfriend).

Sayuri would always never be ashamed of her family. No matter how twisted it once been all those years ago (long before any of them were born). She and Akiko had lived a rather long (compared to the rest), happy life with their son, later granddaughters, and left soon after the birth of a great-grandchild.

(In one life, they all {minus Carmen} could've died in a Hail Mary. They should've just scattered around the world and lived however.)

(Compared to five millenniums, two centuries were nothing. A lot happens in a short time.)

And, despite being one of the oldest, Carmen was the one last to go.

Even after her child died, Carmen lived. Even as her grandchildren had their own children, she lived on. In her early 100's (long after Robin) she still told stories (stories that'd cause a conspiracy) about dragons and heroes and psychics. Only when her youngest grandchild's child's son was a young teen, did she finally pass on. (And even then, even though Carmen them self physically was no longer living, Carmen's tales would fuel an impersonator) Carmen lived enough to see one generation more than her own great-grandparents and nearly lived long enough to witness humanity's downfall.

But as it was, Carmen was cursed, and knew everything to come. (Almost. Even as Carmen went blind, numb, and finally deaf.)

So I fell asleep last night before I could make the post, but I got P5 Scramble yesterday and I’m having a blast so far. ^_^

I’m probably going to go through it the same way I did my Royal playthrough, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t click through on these posts!

Before we start, I just want to mention that I don’t really know anything about the story. Somehow I’ve managed to avoid spoilers for an entire year except for a few small things.

I do know the identity of (who I assume is) Kyoto’s Jail Monarch. (Monarch is kind of a weird, formal word. I think I liked Jail King better. Or... Warden? Warden might have been the best choice.) ANYWAY, I think I know their identity, and by extension, I have a vague idea of why Shadow Joker exists. Other than that... You’re getting speculation and bullshit untainted by later plot revelations. XDDD

I did find it funny that when I booted the game up, I got a “No save data found, unable to start game” message. Like... no shit, PS4, it’s a brand new game. But the little starting tutorial fight was cool, and I liked the opening movie!

The police briefing was...interesting. It’s good to see them actually being somewhat logical? Like... considering everything that happened the year before, it makes sense that they’d assume this is the Thieves again. They have no way of knowing that there’s no way to access Palaces anymore. This isn’t really the Thieves MO, though. Except for the guy who confessed to document tampering. The author shredding his work for no reason and the guy streaking through the criminal justice headquarters don’t seem like they did anything wrong. Those seem more like psychotic breakdowns.

But... I guess we don’t know if the police ever knew anything about Black Mask, or if Shido was convicted on only real-world crimes and not the metaverse hits he ordered. I wonder if that’ll get elaborated on.

Zenkichi’s introduction was him laughing at the streaking guy in the middle of this Serious Police Meeting, so I think I’m gonna like him a lot. ^_^

Anyway, the “higher-ups” really want this case closed, according to “Commissioner Kaburagi”, who I already don’t like. If you’re the police commissioner, Makoto really would be a better choice, holy shit. She’s already prepared to go after Akira, who is the only Thief they know the identity of, so I guess that’s fair. But still. Has he not been falsely accused of enough for a lifetime?

Although... if you’re gonna look up all his life details, can you maybe... share some? Just a few things? Hometown? How are his parents? Anything?

Coming back to Leblanc was cute. Got some Trickster’s Maze vibes from the initial text conversation where they were talking about how people kept not responding to texts, but I think it’s all good. Love that the Sayuri is still on the wall, and that Morgana’s been home with Akira.

Naming the app “Emma” is never going to stop being hilarious to me, because reasons.

Y’know, Atlus, this would work a lot better if he could like...respond to their curiosity. At least these dialogue options seem to suggest that talking things out with his parents went well. Even “I missed you” isn’t inherently negative. He’d miss them either way.

.......so when my boyfriend gets back from his soul-searching vacation, he’ll be welcomed back with open arms, right, Ryuji? Right?

Meanwhile, for summer break plans, Yusuke wants to go to Kyoto for a month-long art tour. Unless...

Nice of Sojiro to water my plant and keep my room from drowning in dust, but he really couldn’t have replaced the bedframe with literally anything other than the plastic storage crates? XD The attic looks so empty and lonely without the shelves of trinkets and plushies, and the TV.

So my reaction to this next part was literally, “LAVENZA, IT’S BEEN LESS THAN 24 HOURS”. X’‘‘D Akira really can’t catch a break. But Lavenza’s dialogue sounded actually sad that he was being dragged into this again. And she’s promised repeatedly that she’s going to be there for him. It’s sweet, even though my room is still a prison and she’s still using torture equipment. Iron maidens, Lavenza, really??

I’m a little concerned that Igor’s not around, though. Lavenza did the dream/reality/mind/matter speech instead. Where is he? I know he’s never around for spinoffs but considering my headcanons I’m very curious now. And why didn’t he like... tell Morgana that Lavenza said ruin is coming again? Even if we don’t count thirdsem events, Morgana still knows that he’s Hope, and he still has a bond with the Velvet Room. Talk to your cat damn it.

Oh no, she’s cute and Alice-in-Wonderland themed. I’m doomed.

She called it her “EMMA keyword” and I immediately blurted “what? keyword??” and then everything went directly to Hell immediately. Keyword was the key word, I guess. X’‘‘‘DDD

And you can tell it’s been six months, considering that these nerds got caught almost immediately. And got their hands bound. And got dragged to the throne room and forced to kneel!

...I’m doomed.

Someone at Atlus looked directly at this fandom and all the fanart of the interrogation and said, “Yeah, they’d be into that.” XD Steppy steppy. At least she’s not a rapist like Kamoshida, but jeeze, we keep getting beaten up and thrown in the dungeon by royalty. All we need is a princess and we’ve got a whole royal family!

Although, I suppose the prince didn’t bother with a dungeon. XD

I think it’s interesting that apparently the guards tried to take our Desires and failed. I guess being a persona-user means your mental state is stable enough that something like that can’t manifest.

Oh no, she’s cute. I love her. Another for the collection of Joker’s baby siblings. This is number... 5? She kind of reminds me of Jose, a little. I’ll be interested to see what she is, since she’s got amnesia right now. She can’t be just a straight AI.

But if she’s Yald’s mom, I’m also going to be majorly weirded out.

I really like the gameplay? It’s so interesting to see how the characters move and fight when they’re not limited to turn-based attacks. And I like being able to jump to different points and use them to ambush enemies. I don’t fully understand all of it yet, and it’s hard for me to keep an eye on things like status ailments and my teammates because everything is so chaotic, but I’m sure I’ll get it.

I did die to a miniboss, and when I hit “return to checkpoint”, it gave me the prompt to select a language for the voice acting again. I dunno what was up with that. X’D And I’m baffled by the concept that you can just leave the metaverse and come back and it restores all your health and stuff. No penalty. Time doesn’t pass. You didn’t waste a day. Have the kids finally learned that we are capable of entering and exiting more than once on the same day? Hallelujah.

If you go by the crepe shop in Shibuya, Morgana still doesn’t think you’re a crepe person. I’m so tired, Morgana. It’s also a bit weird and forced that Iwai and Takemi are both out of town. We couldn’t have seen at least one of them? I know we’re not gonna be able to use those shops when we’re on the road, but we could worry about that then.

(Disturbingly easy to return a gold bar that you apparently bought off the dark web. Omg. That was hilarious.)

AND THEN YOU GET UP THE NEXT DAY AND ZENKICHI IS JUST IN YOUR HOUSE? SITTING IN THAT CHAIR? That is not the “detective chair”, sir, that is my boyfriend’s chair, and you need to move. At least he likes the curry, but jesus fuck. Sir, I have unresolved trauma of adults coming into my house to snoop into my business. Get out of my house. X’D

You give me a detective sitting in my boyfriend’s chair and then immediately send me to a taping of the same show in the same studio where I first met him. God, P5S, you’re trying to kill me.

Alice clearly knows that giving out the keyword is doing something. She’s being very deliberate about this. But I don’t think she’s actually aware of the Jail. Love that she’s so arrogant that she can’t imagine that Akira just... didn’t use the keyword, and that’s why she can’t control him.

So I guess the Jail Monarchs are called such because they’re imprisoning other people’s shadows in their distortions. So these are people that want control over something to the point that it distorted their worldview. Part of me wants to go off on a ramble about how this relates to Mementos or Apathy Syndrome, but I’ll wait and do that when I have more information. I’ve got some more of the dungeon to do, and I cannot wait to see Alice’s boss fight.

TMA x Persona 5 crossover

I’m combining my newest obsession with one of my favorite games ‘cause I love playing the game “what characters from X series would belong to Y category from Y series”

So...

Persona 5, but all the characters belong to different entities from the Magnus Archives (Note: this’ll be based off of the original game, as I have not been able to afford the new release of Royal, and so have not played it yet.) Main Cast: Akira/Ren: Beholding. I debated for a long time about what to pick. What fit the protagonist better? Did his attempts to appear harmless mean he was better suited for the Spiral and it’s deceptions? Or does the fact that he’s a Wild Card able to mold himself into anything his friends needs align him with the Stranger? Or does his anger at unjust treatment give him the greatest connection to the Slaughter, or the Desolation? In the end I went with Beholding not only because that’s what I made the Velvet attendants, but because the Beholding also witnesses all the other entities. It has ties to all of them, even the Stranger which is it’s antithesis along with the Dark. It would make sense that he would have access, have KNOWLEDGE, of all the other entities under this power. Ryuji: The Vast. I almost gave him the Lonely, as after Kamoshida broke his leg he was isolated from his peers, but Ryuji doesn’t WANT to be alone. None of the other entities felt right. The Flesh is too literal, the Web requires more smarts than this boy has, the Corruption makes no sense and so on. I eventually went with the Vast because Ryuji always talks about freedom, and how running made all of his worries fade away, how it helped him connect to his other teammates. Avatars of the Vast have a very laid back look on life and are by far some of the most friendly you can run into, though it doesn’t make them any less dangerous.

Morgana: Beholding. I was originally thinking about whether to make him a Spiral creature or maybe the Stranger, but I realized that whatever Morgana was, then the other velvet room attendants would have to be it as well. And Igor’s JOB is to know things and help guide the player without actually interfering. He can’t belong to anything BUT the Beholding.

Ann: The Stranger: I wasn’t super sure about this one, as the Stranger relies heavily on deception-which Ann is NOT good at-but looking back at all the statements that involve it, it’s evident that it doesn’t try to be GOOD at deception either. How would you know something’s not right if the act was perfect? And as a model, Ann needs to be able to put on different attitudes in order to have presence.

Yusuke: The Spiral. I wasn’t sure which one to give to Yusuke originally. Again, the Lonely was my original thought, as his eccentricities make it hard for him to connect to other people, but being isolated is something that happens TO him, not something he pursues. Yusuke says that he wants to inspire people the way the Sayuri did for him, wants to show the world in new ways. And what better Entity/Patron to follow then the one that does exactly that? The spiral is about fooling the senses, making you see things that aren’t there or perceiving things in impossible ways. What better way is there to describe how art is supposed to make people feel?

Makoto: This girl belongs to the Hunt. You might think the Slaughter because of the rage she feels at being treated like a doormat but nope! That’s her sister. Her sense of justice makes her pursue her prey. She stalks Akira, set traps for him and the Phantom thieves. Not to mention that she wants to be a cop-which tend to lean towards the Hunt due to pursuing criminals. Futaba: Beholding all the way. This girl wants to Know everything, wants to Understand above all. While her vision might have been clouded by grief after her mother’s death, she still Knew they were lying to her and pursued the truth relentlessly.

Haru: Slaughter. I don’t think I have to explain this one do I? Girl canonically has sadistic tendencies, and while one COULD argue that Sadism fits the Desolation better, she doesn’t destroy for destruction’s sake.

Akechi: Desolation. I was originally going to give this boy the Slaughter like Haru due to his anger, until I realized that the anger wasn’t the point. It was directed at Shido. At building him up as high as possible just to take it all away from him. That’s quintessential Desolation mentality. The Desolation is about loss more than fire, and Akechi is determined to make Shido lose EVERYTHING, and believes anything destroyed in that process will be worth it, just to see the expression on his father’s face as he pulls the rug out from under him.

Confidants:

Sadayo Kawakami: Victim of the Buried. Not just because of her debt, but also because of her guilt. The Buried can be metaphorical as well as physical, and Kawakami is an excellent example of that. Sae Nijima: Slaughter. Her anger and tendency to lash out at Makoto are what made me decide on this Entity. She isn’t an Avatar. Like Melanie, she was infected with it and was slowly becoming more and more angry and violent.

Sojiro Sakura: Hunt. He’s been out of the game for a while, so the instincts have largely gone away, but as Wakaba’s friend he learned a lot and that knowledge has helped him keep Futaba safe.

Munehisa Iwai: Slaughter. Former Yakuza? Of course it’s Slaughter; but taking in Kaoru and leaving his clan cut him off from the entity and nowadays he’s just a normal human.

Toranosuke Yoshida: Victim of the Lonely. Being evicted from congress isolated him and left everyone unwilling to listen to him.

Ichiko Ohya: the Dark. It doesn’t fit perfectly. The Dark is about hiding information, not publishing it; but in game her abilities allow you to move around undetected, and her articles help your reputation. I almost went with the Spiral considering how she deceives people, but the characters don’t all need to be Avatars who symbolize their patron. I see it more likely that Ohya is a victim of the Dark, as Shido’s organization is trying to keep her from the truth.

Chihaya Mifune: Web. As a genuine fortune teller it only makes sense that she would be aligned with the Weavers.

Tae Takemi: The End. Enough said.

Shinya Oda: The Hunt. He’s always searching for weaknesses, whether that’s in his competitors or the enemies in game.

Hifumi Togo: The Web. Not only do her abilities allow you greater control over battes, but she’s also caught in the Web of her mother’s making when she’s trying to turn Hifumi into a model.

Yuki Mishima: The Corruption. Mishima uses his ‘position’ as the Phantom Thieves manager to try and gain others respect and take advantage of people. Corruption isn’t always about literal filth and decay, so I think this kind of moral Corruption would definitely put him under this Entities gaze.

Igor: Beholding. I explained this earlier in Morgana’s part, but Igor just fits the Beholding. He has knowledge that he shares with the player to aid in their journey, but he never interferes, never takes action.

Caroline: The Slaughter. I know I said that all the Velvet attendants would be beholding, but I thought that since the twins were two halves of one person, it would be interesting if their Patrons were different to reflect her broken nature. Justine: The End. I wanted to originally go for something different, like the Lonely or the Web. But Justine is a lot calmer than her sister, almost emotionless, and most of all she’s PATIENT, which is a trademark of the End.

Lavenza: Beholding. As a Velvet attendant, she shares the same Patron as Igor.

Palace Rulers: Kamoshida: The Flesh. At first I didn’t know which Entity to give him. Should it be the Hunt, considering his lustful pursuit of the girls? Or maybe the Buried as he tries to pressure Ann into sleeping with him, using Shiho to keep her at his side. I eventually settled on the Flesh because even though Kamoshida was willing to do anything to get Ann as soon as possible and hurt Shiho when she turned him down in retaliation, the Hunt will never stop their pursuit because THAT’S THE FUN PART. There is no end for them. Kamoshida did want to catch Ann.

Madarame: The Spiral. I was originally going to go with the Lonely since he isolates his students, but other than that surface comparison, Madarame has no connection to the Lonely. He relied far more heavily on deceiving his students and tricking them into thinking that they owe him their artwork due to his mentoring them.

Kaneshiro: The Corruption. I mean, he turns into a fly. What more is there to say, except that he possesses the same moral corruption that infects Mishima?

Okumura: The Buried. I originally went with the Flesh, but it felt far too literal. I eventually settled on the Buried as Okumura oppresses his workers and smothers them under exhaustion and debt to the company to keep them in line.

Shido: The Web. I thought about going with the Beholding as a sort of parallel to both the protagonist and Jonah Magnus from TMA, but Shido doesn’t want knowledge. He wants control, to exert his will on the masses, and that’s Web, not Beholding. Yaldabaoth: The Web. The ultimate expression of manipulation. Father of Puppets.

More P5R Thoughts

Finished the Madarame Palce and just churning out the days before his change of heart. Thought I’d post more thoughts and stuff.

His Palace

- All the gimmicks of his palace are the same if I remember correctly (the unopenable gate, the giant marshmallow ann, the paintings, sayuri real or not etc etc)

- But I think the addition of the will seeds, the changing up of the layout a bit, as well as the addition of grappling hook locations helps to spice it up

-Speaking of grappling hook, there is a really cool grappling hook location towards the end and when you land you can see that smug Joker expression and it’s just great

- Just judging off this palace and the Kamoshida palace I really like the addition of will seeds. You don’t have to go to far away to find them but you still needa put a bit of effort. I just think it’s a nice balance not to mention the slight recharge in SP you get from each and the accessory you get after collecting all 3 just adds incentive to go look for them.

- They changed the boss battle. Before it was just kill his paintings, damage Madarame and repeat. But now after you kill his paintings it’s just Madrame... along with a bunch of clones he creates. He creates clones that are either fire, electric, ice or wind. After you take down one set of clones he summons more. And it repeats until soon he starts breaking under the pressure and the clones he summons are just asleep and can be technical damaged.

- His boss now really incentivizes baton passing but you also need to balance that out with dishing out damage to the real Madrame. Overall I like the change they made to his boss fight, makes it more and you actually needa think about ordering and such.

Mementos

- So I‘ve only done one real run of mementos with 2 targets but from what I’ve seen it might be a lot less mind numbing maybe.

- The new character Jose seems very interesting, drinking flowers asking for tokens and I can’t wait to see his relevance to the plot.

- The flowers you collect for him are just items you collect as you travel through Mementos same as normal treasure/items like before. You can spend them on some SP restorative items and such and they go away when you leave Mementos so spend them all in the run you’re in.

- There are now stamps you collect for Jose in Mementos as well. There’s one in each level of Mementos and you use them to change either the exp, money or item (either rarity or chance not sure) of Mementos. You can also redistribute how you spend your tokens if you change your mind, but at the cost of flowers.

- Targets can be handled differently now. You can actually talk them down now once you knock them out, as long as you make the right choices. This is a nice change and really makes you feel like you’re changing the hearts of rotten adults instead of just beating them up.

- These changes seem interesting and at least make the grind through Mementos later on seem less dull, and I guess it also may also be to make you go more often, instead of waiting for missions to stack up.

- Also something funny but the cutscene for when Jose changes up Mementos is literally him taking a hammer and talking about the pressure points of Mementos and just hitting a random spot to change it up lol.

- It seems that weather may have less of an effect, at least for pollen. You cannot cheese the reaper with pollen anymore, as it just makes shadows literally asleep and just easier to ambush.

- One last thing but it seems that floors now sometimes have a random effect, i.e. all the lights out and only treasure demons. I guess this is just to spice up the monotony of Mementos.

Random Things

- The way they’re weaving Kasumi into the story seems so far pretty natural. Yes they add in an original school event to properly introduce her but I liked it. It didn’t seem like padding and also got to see Haru for a bit which is always welcome.

- Takuto Maruki’s confidant storyline so far seems like it’ll heavily play a part towards establishing the dream scenario teased for the 3rd semester. As for the how that is still to be determined much later on I’m guessing.

- The scenes where Joker is waiting for a train and someone approaches him seem to mostly have VO’s now when I’m pretty sure they weren’t voiced-over before at all and I am happy about that change.

- I forgot how much it sucks when you need a certain stat level to progress a confidant. Please just let me help Takemi or get better guns from Iwai.

- Speaking of guns, they ALWAYS recharge after every battle now and it is so great. THEY’RE ACTUALLY VIABLE NOW.

Overall, I’m liking P5R more and more with all these little changes that just add up to a quality game, and P5 was already amazing, at least imo. Can’t wait to play more and GET UP TO MY QUEEN.

Sorry if this is a lot, I just don’t really have anyone to share this with and it’s just nice to express my thoughts about a game I love dearly. Though it’s gonna be hard to choose when FF7R comes out. EARLY TOO for Australia.
