maybe I was simply not around the active heyday of the B;APO fandom but like. do we ever seriously acknowledge Meghan Lloyd??

my dude!! that is ur classmate, presumably ur at least acquaintance, and you a) didn’t know/forgot this and b) don’t really care??

to that end I’m just. she had to have least been enrolled for the year to have been in the class ranks, right? like for the school to have not taken her out of the system? so she can't have died that long ago. several months, at most - i'm just. wondering about her as a character* and having feelings about it.

or am i fundamentally misunderstanding something/reading too deeply into the joke? - which is a real, although far less interesting, possibility.

*i say "wondering" - the reality is she exists very very clearly in my mind, but it's still sort of sad to know that her story ended before our story (in the form of the actual musical) started. we know all these other characters (to varying degrees) but her?? nothing but a throwaway joke also the tragic symmetry of her death at the start of the year and jason's at the end of the year <\3

#her lack of canon is useful tho bc i can use her as a narrative foil and/or parallel character to whoever the hell I want #usually Jason #but sometimes Ivy or Rory. Peter if I’m really feeling it #i don't personally subscribe to the concept that she and matt are related btw - i have seen several takes on it but it's just not-#- where i'm at with those characters #ALTHO the jokes about her just being matt pre-transition ARE very funny to me #but again. not where i'm actually at with it.#mouse talks bapo #bare a pop opera #Meghan Lloyd #(i think her name doesn't technically have an h in it BUT i have decided to spell it that way bc i can and i think it's pretty)

i just read archive footage again and i have to say. i will never be normal about ivy alexandria. she is an archivist, an archive. she is made up of facts and figures and calculations and records. so many stories would take that base and make her a cold, emotionless robot. but that’s not ivy.

the past only exists as information and the future is yet uncharted, so she can only truly experience the present. and she experiences it strongly. all of the emotions that the present draws up for her she feels very deeply. ivy alexandria is a very logic- and facts-focused person, and also she is very emotional. she canonically laughs and gets upset. she likes starlight and kittens and she loves books.

i will never be normal about ivy alexandria.

Okay so the prompt is Ivy but consider: I do what I want. And like, lil’ mouse on the way to market and market day doesn’t stop just because it’s raining so she *has* to find an umbrella. The cottage she lives in has the most lovely Ivy curling down it and the humans won’t notice just one leaf missing.
