oh gods lol, umm, quite a few so uh:
Mac was inspired by Fizzarolli from Helluva Boss, Luz and Hunter from The Owl House, Isabella from Encanto, and Douxie Casperan and Claire Nuñez from Tales of Arcadia.
Ma on the other hand is inspired by main character's BFF's in general (the ultimate best friend I'd like to claim) along with Toby Domzalski from Trollhunters, Timon from The Lion King, Racetrack Higgins from Newsies, Mei from Lego Monkie Kid, and Tubbo (probably mostly c!Tubbo but also just Tubbo's energy in general).
A lot of their inspiration does just come from their playlists.

“WAKE UP!!” Race yelled in your ear “I’m up, I’m up!” You say as you got up “C’mon Bella today is the day! We are going to visit Spot for two months remember? Jack wants us to stay for two months to help spot with-“ you roll your eyes as you interrupt Race “Yeah yeah I know. He has been talkin about it all week. Now if you don’t mind I’m gonna get dressed so we can go” you say as you pick up your shirt and pants and your hat and go get dressed as you finish you walk downstairs to brush your hair “Are you ready? Are you ready?” Race asks over and over again “No not yet!” As you go back upstairs to get your locket you and Jack’s parents gave you before your ma died and your Pa got in jail as you pick it up and put it on, you notice Jack standing against the wall “So you just gonna leave without sayin goodbye?” He asked you “No I was gonna come and say goodbye” you walk over to him and hug him “Good luck sis. Now remember if anythin happens you come to me, you understand” you let go of him “Yep I understand.” You say holding your Knapsack with some stuff you can’t live without such as a photo of you and Jack with your parents and some extra stuff, as you and race take off for Brooklyn you guys finally arrive at the lodging house as you and race open the doors you see Spot. Spot had always hated you from the moment he met you. Jack had introduced him to you when they visited him once. “Well if it ain’t Isabella Kelly..” Spot always knew you hated being called Isabella. “Hi Spot..” you said as you crossed your arms over your chest “Hey Race” Spot says “Heya Spot.” Race said as they shook hands “Eh why don’t you come inside” as you went inside spot led you to your bunk which no one used and was right by the fire escape as you set your stuff down you saw in the corner of your eye spot go into his little office as you went to go follow him he turned around Surprised to see that you followed him “Why do you hate me?” You asked sounding angry “I don’t know what you’re talkin about Kelly.” He responded “Cut the bull Spot!” You said getting louder “I don’t hate you!” Spot responded getting even louder than you “Really cus you act like it!” You said now yelling “You wanna know why I act like i hate you?” He responded now yelling also “YEAH I WANNA KNOW!” You screamed at him “IT’S BECAUSE I LOVE YOU BELLA!” He yelled back at you, there was silence for 5 seconds before spot walked closer to you and kissed you and wrapped his arms around your waist and you slid your hands on his neck you then both heard chuckling from the door you both stopped and turned to see Race laughing “Wait til Jack hears about this!” Race said yelling as you ran after him around the lodging house yelling “YOU ARE NOT GONNA TELL JACK!!” Finally after catching up to him “I swear if you tell Jack about this i will be so mad!” you responded as you let him go you went back to spots office and kissed him again.

Alexei Navalny was 'the president Russia never got'. His death means a void in the fight against Putin
Alexei Navalny's decades-long crusade for a more democratic Russia saw him cast as President Vladimir Putin's archenemy, but his fight appears to have ended with an early death in prison.
The 47-year-old will be remembered as an anti-corruption campaigner, an aspiring presidential candidate, political prisoner and one of the Kremlin's most vocal critics.
His suspicious death brings his activism to an end, but his supporters believe his work influenced many in his home country and abroad.

"Emergency medicine in the NHS is facing one of its most challenging times in our history," Dr Ian Higginson, vice-president at the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, said. "We are having to treat patients in corridors, which is unsafe and undignified for those who need care." There have been reports of patients waiting 24 hours to get a hospital bed, and of families forced to drive the unwell and elderly to the hospital in a state of emergency because no ambulance arrived. "We're unable to offload the ambulances who are bringing more patients to us, so they're queuing in our car parks. Then we can't get the ambulances out to patients who need them because they're stuck in our car parks,” Dr Higginson said.

2015 was, of course, the year of the great Star Wars revival with the release of The Force Awakens, the first new film in the franchise since 2005. So naturally I had to bring back C3PO and R2D2 to reprise “Sleigh Ride” from The Star Wars Christmas Album. (I also inadvertently repeated Jody Levins’ “Jingle Bell Boogie” from a couple of years back, forgetting that I’d already used it. Oh well, great track anyway.)
Other highlights include: a very nice ska/bluebeat take on “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”; a beautifully harmonized acoustic “Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella”; an a cappella calypso choir singing “Ring De Christmas Bells” from a 1956 album by the De Paur Chorus; a gently swinging “O Tannenbaum” by German jazz organist Barbara Dennerlein; some New Orleans-style funk on “Twinkle (Little Christmas Lights)”; Betty Boop (voiced by Mae Questal, who was also the voice of Olive Oyl in the Popeye cartoons) singing “I Want You for Christmas”; a lovely and soulful klezmer arrangement of “Carol of the Bells” and the title track, a major slab of funk called “Santa Claus is Gonna Make It Right”. I always get a kick out of foreign-language versions of holiday standards, and “Christmas No Uta (The Christmas Song)” sung by Shinohara Emi, is quite charming; and who could possibly dislike a holiday song set to a big-band arrangement of the theme from The Flintstones, as the Brian Setzer Orchestra has done here?
