I feel like I keep changing the Vyrthaals' pronouns. The only consistent ones are:

(DISCLAIMER im high as fuck and kept forgetting the word for pronouns. I tried 2 make sure I didn't leave any mistakes in but oh my god I can barely form a coherent sentence rn)

Og! Vyr he/him and they/them. Prefers both equally. Would probably like some neopronouns tbh. Give Vyrthaal A Neopronoun!!

Mara! Vyr (the Caretaker): genuinely fine with any pronouns you want to use for her, but has a *tiny* preference for she/her (which started after Mara gave Vyr her Blessing and adopted her. Shoutout to Mara 4 transing a Vyrthaal's gender!)

Boethiah! Vyr (the Kingslayer): they/them only. Probably experiments with other pronouns when they hang out w/the Forsworn for a bit. (They do this after they help Madanach overthrow the jarl of Markarth and then helps forge an alliance with the Falmer and the Forsworn and leads them 2 overthrow Ulfric. Which is where they get their title of Kingslayer, bestowed on them by madanach :3 Lord Boethiah is Very unsure how they feel abt their kid making an Alliance w/Hircine on their own but they'd be a hypocrit to tell them not to do that). They'd try she/her, then he/him, then xe/xem, and then go back to they/them

Jay: she/her is what she uses when she's chillin' but uses he/him when in full Jyggalag Mode to intimidate the Princes into getting in line. Did u know they hate her so much except Peryite (kinda). Wait lmao I really did just give her personal and professional pronouns lmao--

The other Vyrthaals I either haven't explored very much OR I can't decide. All the Vyrs are pretty genderfluid tho. None of them r cis but neither r any of my ocs. I have so much vyrthaal wisdom in me tonight

On the complete opposite end of the Vyrthaal - Vyrthur Interaction Spectrum (or VVIS for short) is Jay.

She disguises herself as a mortal to deal with Bal's meddling on Nirn during the Dawnguard Questline and when she encounters Vyrthur she gets so Passionately Angry that Bal fucked w/one of Her People she essentially awakens an ability to "cure" vampirism on her own.

"Cure" in quotations bc it doesn't like....free them from their dealings w a daedric prince or make them mortal. She essentially takes their soul, Purifies it in her own special Jyggalag way, and gives it back to them. They're now bound to her and will be compelled to do her bidding and are connected to her forever, not fully in control of themselves as her will can override their own. But Vyrthur isn't a vampire anymore and Jay is VERY hands off with her "followers," so he's.....okay with it. She does this w/the rest of the Falmer that Vyrthur has turned which is what begins putting Jyggalag at the center of the modern Falmeri pantheon.

Jay "Vampires" are ice cold to the touch and their skin glitters in the sun like ice. They look slightly frostbitten, especially wherever she touches them to Purify them as physical contact is necessary. Their eyes change to look just like hers, bright blue with silver glowing pupils, which looks Incredibly uncanny for most people. Falmer don't have that effect as they don't Have eyes but they do develop bright blue markings around where their eyes would be. High frost resistance for everybody and they're a bit of a hive mind, always conscious of each other through their connection with Jay. They're functionally immortal until she calls them to Oblivion--for some its when their lives would naturally end if they don't want to be immortal, for some it's after sustaining grievous injury and keeping them alive would only make them suffer, or if they displease her in whatever reason. With her desire for Order, as much as she tries to suppress it, this is often if they want to leave her.

They no longer need food or drink (or blood, in the case of former Bal vampires) and are sustained by Jay's life force. So if she's ever weakened they'll all be weakened too.

They have superhuman strength bc I just think that's cool, and the ability to create ice-like armor around themselves in battle (called Jyggalag's Protection). they can also recieve visions of the "future" since Jay can see all possible outcomes ! BUT she doesn't know which is the True future, so it's an imperfect vision and they serve more as warnings of what may happen, rather than what Will happen. Technically any of her followers can get visions from her but it's easier for one of her vampires.

Serana !!! She decides she doesn't want anything to do w/vampirism so she has Falion cure her. No hard feelings from Jay she totally understands lol. But they're super close friends after the questline and Serana stays in the Chantry with Vyrthur and the falmer.

As for Gelebor. He isn't fond of Jay lol. But he stays in Darkfall passage and is unbothered by her Falmer and Vyrthur. Uhhh thas it for now lol I'm too hungry to keep typing BREAKFAST TIME.

Peryite! Vyrthaal is the guy mortals summon when making deals w/Daedra to make sure they're not gonna get fucked over. He reads over every line and all the fine print in a deal and points out any hidden shit in there that might fuck over a mortal and explains things in terms the summoner will understand.

I put Kingslayer in Vulon's universe and then had Vulon do the forsworn conspiracy quest which Kingslayer helps with so holy shit. What if they met During that like. Vyrthaal is part of the group that attacked Markarth from the outside after communicating + planning with Madanach for years (Falmer are good at tunneling SO they could get 2 them and show them how 2 escape the dwemer bits above the prison) and then they see the fucking. Escaped prisoners running out and suddenly THEIR PARENT'S CHAMPION??!?!?!??!!??? They recognize the Ebony Mail and Goldbrand, OBVIOUSLY, but they hadNO idea their parent's Champion would be Here Doing This. They knew there Was one bur not what it was doing. So anyways it sees Vulon Wrecking The Guards and grabs it and is like "WHEN DID MY PARENT SEND YOU ARE YOU HERE TO FUCKING BABYSIT ME" and Vulon is like . huh. What.

Vyr thinks Lord Boethiah sent Vulon 2 watch over them or something. Or that their parent wanted 2 fuck with their plans. But Vulon had NO idea. It wasn't even sent there by Lord Boethiah, it was sent to Markarth by MARA so he could have FATHER DAUGHTER BONDING TIME w Sissel!! Vulon was trying to help Calcelmo with his love life then all of a sudden the Questline happens to it and well. It's a good cause !!! YEAH it'll help the Reachmen take back Markarth that's THEIR home. Oh FUCK the falmer are involved??? DOPE I met an ancient one I have Auri-El's Bow

After the battle Vyr grabs Vulon again and is like "OKAY you are going to tell me EVERYTHING THAT IS GOING ON. Why was my parents Champion here. WHY do you have the bow of my peoples chief God. WHY???? Are you being followed by an acolyte of Mara that has a BLADE OF FUCKING SACRIFICE."

And vulon is like. "OK. Lady Mara sent me here because the Jarl's wizard was in love and has negative rizz but then when I came in thos dude killed someone in the Markey and THEN I found out there's a whole secret plan that the Forsworn are going to assassinate the jarl and take their homes capitol backs inwas like FUCK YEAH LETS DO IT. Also this acolyte is my daughter Sissel she uh. Well overthrowing a corrupt government will help foster love on a greater scale so I guess it's fine (Sissel nods. Ok now I'm thinking abt Jay . And I think she really Would choose Champions she actually cares about--she remembers enough about Being Mortal to know and value friendship and love, and she doesn't pick Champions based on who's strongest or who's most devoted. I think if she gained any following on Nirn (and she would; many of her followers are unwilling vampires seeking help from one of the few Princes that can cure them, and the only one that won't hold that over their heads) she'd care very much for her followers. They're mortals, they're delicate and weak but they're also very strong and wonderful. She remembers being mortal and how beautiful and horrible it was and she treasures that about them. Despite how much she isolates herself from the other Princes she is surprisingly easy to contact if you're a mortal.

Other pwople I think would devote themselves to her would be the feral falmer in the Vale. I think Vyrthur would go to them with the express purpose of convincing them to follow his Prince, convincing them that she can help cure them of their vampirism (which is my head canon for what's Up with them). And as they're cured they get in contact with the other falmer of the vale and slowly Jyggalag somehow becomes a major deity 2 the Falmer, tho I think She presents herself differently to them than non-Falmer bc those are. Her people. Even if they're different and new, they're the same u kno?? So maybe to other mortals Jyggalag is a frightening and dangerous thing but to the Falmer she watches over them and protects them from harm, even if that may not seem like smthn that has anything to do with Jyggalag's Whole Thing.

So Yeah after Serana I think most of her Champions would be Falmer but idk what exactly she'd have them Do. Bc she doesn't care too much for interfering with Nirn, her primary role is keeping the other Princes in line and not fucking up the way things Are too much. So ???? Idk .

OG! Vyr: OOO I think it's really just to keep everyone safe. Comes with having to save the world twice before u even reach 17 I suppose. But he's willing to do just about anything for it, provided it won't hurt him badly enough he can no longer do that. He's got a big heart full of a lot of care for people.

Mara! Vyr: Like OG! Vyr he just wants to keep people safe. After Erandur takes him in he wants to help people the way he does, and devotes himself to becoming a Priest of Mara like him :')

Boethiah! Vyr: I think their greatest wish would be to finally feel like enough in their own eyes. They're one of the few Vyrthaals that feel like they need to live up to their Daedric Parent's Image, and while eventually they Do learn they don't have to do that, they still just feel inadequate in their own eyes. They learn to love themself tho!! This is an achievable dream for them :)

Vyr is Scared. He's deeply traumatized and doesn't really learn how to cope with it very well for many years, so for much of his life he's hiding the fact that he's just Afraid. But also because he has so much responsibility thrust upon him, especially with being Dragonborn, and it makes him feel like he can't express that to keep other people from worrying :(

Jay: She's Fucking Overwhelmed. She barely knows what she's doing and is 100% relying on the other Daedric Princes being too afraid of her both as Jyggalag, and the kid who killed Jyggalag and took his place, to pick up on that. Peryite is the only one who knows this and thankfully he doesn't look down on her for it, but he's not a Friend and doesn't really help her. But she's managing!

My inspiration was the Dawnguard OC, bc God DAMN. Gelebor and Vyrthur gave me Feelings. The first thing I thought about him was "I NEED to give him Auri-El's Bow, and he NEEDS to be best friends forever with Serana" bc that girl Needs a friend ;;

As for all the Other Vyrthaals, I first thought "man what if Vyrthaal was found by the Volkihars somehow" and it spiraled So out of controll hehehe. My first thought for all of them was literally "I'm going to make these children heal and experience a love so pure and healing it saves the world" and then they DID.

Put "📓" or some other version of a book emoji into my inbox and I'll explain the plot of a fanfiction that I haven't written but daydream about.

Boethiah! Vyrthaal overcoming their weird hangup about needing to be Exactly like Boethiah to get their approval. They fuck off to Nirn to try and find a Purpose for themself as they're beginning to awaken into their Daedric Powers, and finds out abt the Reachmen organizing under King Madanach. They know they don't have a strong enough army to fight the Stormcloaks AND the Empire on their own but also that the Falmer in their universe are trying to organize themselves as well, and work with both groups to unify and help prepare them.

The fic ends with the united armies beating the stormcloaks out of Markarth and claiming it before moving onto Windhelm to fight Ulfric himself, where he gets killed and the Stormcloaks surrender. I'm not Interested in writing political things but it's epic for the Reachmen AND the Falmer they're recognized as the rightful leaders or whatever as Skyrim (Also Vyrthaal and Madanach become good friends and he tells them he, at least, is proud of them and knows that they're selling themself short. Also Boethiah tells Vyr that they wanted Vyr to do their own thing this Whole Damn Time, not blindly following people is their whole THING.)

Serana but she's the Champion of Jyggalag except Jyggalag is a snow elf Demiprince and also they're besties

The gray in her hair is less to due with age and more to do with her Champion-ship; it will turn more and more white the longer she's in service as Champion. I will likely ramble about her, and her relationship with Jay, in a reblog.

I think it would be really funny if every Vyrthaal Bothered their Daedric parent's Champions lol. Mara! Vyr kills every Champion of molag bal. The Serpent shows up 2 Chanpioms of Boethiah now n then and just initiates duels without warning . The Chaurus Mother shows up any time Namira's Champion has a Feast(tm) n just silently gathers up various body parts n then sits off to the side while they finish and it's weird and unsettling .idk
