hey folks, putting my Professional Googles Shit Guy hat on for a second, but as I'm sure you're aware google has rolled out AI overviews which are uhhhh dogshit lies at best. Currently this is rolled out in the US only (as far as I'm aware it hasn't got here yet so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) but even if you are not in the US it is fucking up your search results.
You can, however, turn this the fuck off
basic explanation is you need to append the string 'udm=14' to the end of your searches; arstechnica has a good explanation of how to set that as your default search if you don't know how, for both chrome and firefox.
(edge users, it's basically the same as chrome)

a lot of the colleges that don’t have a huge or any involvement with medinas yisrael DO have connections with fossil fuels and climate breakdown. Something for the divestment people to think of

the thing about Hawai’i politics is that. You absolutely need to criticize the local government. But you also need to stand the economic and political politics of living in a place where the local government doesn’t have an iota of the power of the mega corporations like Hilton and Sheraton that run mega resorts here, nor the billionaires like mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, or Jeff bezos that run second homes here or have quasi-feudal estates or exert far far more power than the relatively progressive county and state governments
like. You have to clock what it is that a man worth over 100 billion dollars purchased 98% of an island. What that’s like. What power does a city councilman who represents that island in a council have over a man worth over 100 billion who both owns the land people live on AND the hotels they work at

November 7th is National Cancer Awareness Day. Cancer runs rampant on both sides of my family, and has taken three of my grandparents, and threatened the lives of my friends. I've seen what cancer does up close and personal. I'm lucky to still have my Mom, who survived a breast cancer scare during my teenage years. She hid it from me though, (even hid the surgery). I found out by accident when I was 13.
I am not close to my family, not even my immediate family, so for this day I want to encourage people to research their family history. Even if it's difficult and triggering... if you don't know your family's medical history, you are not alone!! And there are still steps you can take. With us millennials nearing our thirties, there's one thing we can do - talk to your doctor!!! Routine testing can SAVE LIVES.
Much love, and rest in peace to any loved ones lost to this disease.
