1. Basics - TWICE

a dreamy, lovely bop that feels so reminiscent of the early 2000s american girl groups i was listening to when i was a kid! between 1&2 was a top listen for me this year for sure.

2. She Had The World - Panic! At The Disco

“i’m sure i didn’t ruin her/i just made her more interesting” i actually have an essay in my back pocket about how this song encapsulates ryan ross as a songwriter and this song. this song drives me crazy!!!!

3. Honey, This Mirror... - My Chemical Romance

right out the gate, mcr is THAT BITCH. my fave song off bullets, my favorite song to drive around to at 1am. perfection.

4. Surface Pressure - Jessica Darrow, Encanto Soundtrack

i am surprised that more songs from encanto didn’t land on my most listened tracks this year, between having a niece and getting allllll my feelings out to a select few songs on this soundtrack. the ultimate parentified sibling song! jonathan byers would love this song.

5. Bring It Back - TWICE

this is one of several songs from eyes wide open that ended up on my top 100 -- still my favorite release of twice’s for sure. proud of dahyun for penning this one, i like an anticlimax in a song!

6. Exhibit of The Year - Down To Earth Approach

this is a song i found on a warped tour sampler ages ago that i absolutely loved. the guitar breakdown in the chorus gets me every time!!

7. Poster of a Girl - Metric

ooooooof, a song i loved in my teens but became the soundtrack of my early twenties. “can’t stand by myself/hate to sleep alone/surprises always help/so i take somebody home/to find out how i feel/i feel like just a baby/portrait of a lady/poster of a girl”

8. Shady - French Braids

heard this song in a coffee shop! just a chill ass vibe. i love this guy’s voice and i love the arrangement of this song! also incredibly relatable.

9. Earthquake - Labrinth, Tinie Tempah

a song that was really big in the uk when i was studying abroad! i think this was his first single. anyway, glad he’s still making music, this song fucks.

10. Funny You Should Ask - The Front Bottoms

this song has been on my top 100 in some capacity for the last six years. i think it’s going to the be there permanently.

Oh man, spotify wrapped is here! Last year it was all like YOU LITEN TO RAIN SOUNDS THE MOST. Yeah, because I fall asleep too it so it doesn’t count! This year though…

The fact the Tick Tick Boom is number one is not shocking. I listened to that soundtrack nonstop, along with Encanto😅

But Taylor Swift, Midnights, making it up there in the last month!? Also not shocking 😂

The top artist really should have added Pop Goes Punk up there too, but it counted the artist in tick Tick Boom separately.

I listened to Tick Tick Boom, Encanto, SIX, Emo punk, Pop goes Punk, Rock and Taylor Swift the most. Sounds about right.
