I JUST FUCKING FINISHED ANDROMEDA

Over a week of playing nearly every single day, 56 hours and 42 fucking minutes-

I have loved every single second of this game

Upgrading armour and crafting, doing silly side quests, loyalty missions, collecting data from all around, upgrading the Nomad (which I despised at first, and then... I loved so much)

This game was an absolute joy from start to finish and I don't understand how, even with the ME trilogy having come first, people don't like ME Andromeda

This game was stellar and beautiful and I felt like I could really sit there and appreciate the silliness, the seriousness, the awkwardness, all of it

Every little decision mattered

Every little decision defined my character and looking back at the files and all? I got to play a perfect rendition of myself in my Pathfinder and I have my own story I've made along the way, just helping wherever I could

I got Wrex back in my good side after I chose to save Raeka and we're closer than ever, I've done every loyalty mission, I won a damn bar fight, I got blackout drunk, I lost poker, I got a Turian girlfriend, I spared Akksul, I got Evfra and Reyes and Kandros and Tann and everyone else on my side so we could protect all our worlds and make a home

And I'm so emotional over this game because it was perfect

The nods to the trilogy- the nomad paint that says "hold the line" in its description and the other salarian's words in battle as a nod to kirrahe? Mordin's photo being in the Salarian info stuff at one point while he smiles? The archangel paint? The collection of model ships?

It's all incredible

People don't seem to like this game but it opened up a whole new side of our universe and it doesn't take away from it at all

It's just the other side of it all that we have so far

It connected everything and I couldn't have asked for a better game

This game has broken me in the best way and I love both Andromeda and the trilogy

Anyways, little freakout over, just really happy right now

I love almost every character and interaction and I really hope they make another Andromeda game because these characters are wonderful and deserve a chance to keep growing just like Shepard and their friends did

So a couple times a year my brain decides to get stuck on the Song of Healing (version by Tara St Michel https://tarastmichel.com/lyrics/?p=32) and combining with the ouch that is Unraveling comes this brain worm

Sky fought the hold (it was taking Warriors, Twilight, Wild, and Four to keep him even that still). Ozone was building in the air, the smell sickeningly sweet. Wind was keeping the gales from the Chosen at bay, as much as he could. The little Sailor’s nose had started bleeding with the sheer effort of this battle of wills. Wind himself hadn’t noticed yet, face screwed up in concentration of diverting Sky’s growing storm.

“Do something!” Wild pleaded with Hyrule. Sky jerked and almost tore himself free. Hyrule was calling his magic, but this...poison extended beyond fairy magic to heal. Sky pleaded once more for the demon he saw in Time’s place to ‘let him fall to silence.’

The ocarina song he could hear from the Master Sword changed its melody and offered a solution.

Day to night, dark to light,

Fall the sands of time.

Let the years, like the gears

Of a clock, unwind.

The Song of Healing. A melody to free a tormented soul. He... he couldn’t do that! Sky was in pain, had been for months. It was his fault. But this was one of his boys! He couldn’t risk losing the Chosen Hero.

In your mind walk through time

Back to better days.

Memories, like a dream,

Wash tears away.

Maybe the melody could do what the sword could not? Maybe the fractured soul could be reached?

Cast away your old face,

Let go of your spite.

With this mask I’ll ask

To borrow your light.

Damn it all! He needed to fix this, to have a chance to make it up to Sky. Not...not what the Chosen seemed to desire in his plea for silence. The boys lost their grip on the Chosen right as Time put the instrument to his lips and joined Fi’s melody on the next stanza

With this song, bring no wrong

Lift me from this curse.

Let this form, like a storm,

Fade and disperse

Sky froze at the melody. The tearing winds only just cushioned by their youngest’s own gifts abruptly fell still. Time took a frantic gasp for air and continued.

In your mind walk through time

Back to brighter days.

Days filled with ways that could

Chase fears away.

Sky sank to his knees, the fight suddenly gone. The malice-filled orange in his eyes flickered, for just a moment allowing the crystal blue to return. Crystal blue filled with tears.

Like the sun shining bright,

Light will soon find you.

Bringing a promise that

You’ll be okay.

They could work through it, as long as they all lived through this. He would hold to that promise.

Cast away all your fears,

Follow your heart.

With this mask I’ll ask

To grant a new start.

And with that final strain of melody, Sky fully collapsed. A mask clattered to the ice as it fell off Sky’s face. Orange, hate-filled eyes stared out of malice-tinted fractures mirroring Sky’s lightning scars. Time’s shaking legs gave out. Producing a mask of his own meager magic reserves had drained him beyond exhaustion.

“Is he breathing?” Was Time’s only question as Warriors got to Sky first. The boys all seemed to hold their breath as Warriors carefully turned Sky to check.

“Breathing, got a heartbeat. He’s still alive.”

Time dragged himself to Sky’s side, ignoring the others’ protests and gathered the boy into his arms.

I'm at a loss for words, this is stunning. I won't lie it's taken me a solid 20 minutes to be able to formulate a response because I'm just so stunned.

For several reasons

1. This is written incredibly well. I've not heard the peice directly but I can hear it in the written words.

2. I'm stunned that you'd take time out for your day to write something for a piece of work I've made. Im incredibly humbled. Holy shit. Like. Oh man I'm gonna start crying again. (/pos)

3. Its the first time anyone's done something like this for a piece of work I've created. It's such an amazing feeling.

I just saw a post about how it's not right or okay to judge an abuse relationship of any other time using modern standards.

Yes she was talking about alicent and helaena.

Yes she was saying that rape is not rape if we aren't in the 20th or 21th century. Rape is not rape if there isn't violence or cruelty.

Sex is a form of cruelty and violence against the person that was unwilling to participate. Morally, physically emotionally, psychologically. Is a crime. You don't need to scream or fight for it to become a crime, you don't need to scream or fight for it to destroy a life (and a body).

We can talk about every women who suffered from it and believed it was their duty to go through it.

Like Alicent probably believed it. It didn't make her not dissociate while being fucked by a man as old as her father.

Does those two talking about it ever think her ancestors didn't suffered it when they have to birth 7, 8, 15 children? Beyond what they believe, this is unreal, this is clearly silent violence. Modern standards or not.

So you're saying any other crime wouldn't count as long as it wasn't condemned by law or society?

I'm done with this tbshits. I'm definitely blocking the tag, I didn't do it before because I rarely saw their posts, but now I'm shaking with how angry and bothered I am.

Besties!!

At the start of this year I set out to draw at least one thing every month, just so I could make one of these- Did it make me cry a couple of times? Absolutely! Did I get some decent practise in? Sure, let's call it that.

It's fun to see and compare stuff now that I'm done and it's all next to each other. Like I did a lot of 'head and shoulders', and there's a lack of proper lighting, but those are all things I can work on next year! Might try a bit more character variation, maybe some more fandoms, OC's if I DARE- Also I need an actual signature because.

Found several hundred $ on the floor at Walmart tonight, did the right thing and turned it in to the service desk and was praised and thanked profusely for my honesty by the employees. left kicking myself a little for not pocketing it but god damn that would've been a shitty thing to do to whoever lost that money.

Then just now an anonymous stranger donated $135 to my GoFundMe. When I say the universe has a balance, dear gods do I mean it. Somebody up there decided to be real nice to me today (for the past week, really) and I am SO grateful.
