Rotational Play: I switch households every in-game week, giving each household 7 days per season. I've disabled neighborhood progress to keep stories fresh and unexpected (though, oops, sometimes I slip up with the settings!).
Wants-Based Gameplay: My Sims' desires drive their stories. I aim to fulfill their wants, letting autonomy stir up some delightful chaos along the way. Remember ACR? Yes, those unpredictable moments are back!
The Sims 2 Vibes: I've modded my game to mirror the feel of The Sims 2, including aspirations, hobbies, and those quirky chance cards. Dice rolls and creative twists keep things interesting. All stories kick off post-scripted events. In my world, Don and Cassandra are married, Dina and Mortimer eloped, and Daniel... well, let's say he's had better days.

I'm interested in the lore! I wasn't around for the beginning and darren is so fine. All of your sims look good. My dad was heavy into wutang and nas so is Darren based off like nyc street culture? My dad is 52 so I grew up listening to all that and some of the stuff you post about darren just reminds me of him and he's from queens. Sorry if you've answered this already but I do like the extras and stuff you post outside of the actual story. Nice touch cin
POV: Its 1994, and this kid comes up and asks you for a light for his blunt rolled with 2 phillies (in the bridge we call em oo-ops).
The short answer to Darren's character is, yes, he was a product of the streets of Queens. He ran with a crew (mostly drug dealing, fighting and an occassional shootout) from age 11 and, as was the case with his voice claim pictured here, he was "raised" in the most infamous housing projects of the time. As such, you can imagine the kind of wild shit he was a part of, the death, the violence, the shit burned into the back of his eyelids and that which kept him awake at night. His parents were largely absent so he spent most his time in and out of school or at the bodega with his crew trying to pick up girls or rapping.

PLEASANTFORT (unfinished medieval neighborhood)
Hi! As I've said in my latest post, I am not going to be playing The Sims 2 for a while, as I'm exploring other hobbies and focusing on work, but I don't want my two neighborhood projects to be lost forever. I'm gonna share them here so that anyone who wants to try them out and maybe finish these projects can do it!
Here's Pleasantfort, an attempt to transform Pleasantview into a medieval town. The neighborhood has no characters files because my plan was to make a uninhabited version first, so that anyone could use it as a base for their medieval playthroughs. There is a serious lack of downloadable historical neighborhoods for The Sims 2 and many players want to try out playing in a medieval setting, but it requires so much time and energy to find all the custom content and build a neighborhood from scratch, so I wanted to make it simpler for everyone by creating this neighborhood.
As this is an unfinished project that I'm sharing because I don't know if I'll ever manage to wrap it up, some lots have NOT been made over. The main lots that are absent are the Royal Castle (the house of the Pleasants, which was supposed to be the tallest and richest building with two towers for Lilith and Angela), the Jacoban Cathedral (I was going to make a replica of the Jacoban Church from The Sims Medieval) and the community lots with various medieval businesses: a candle shop, a tapestry and clothing shop, the town market, a tavern with a stage for bards... other than that, there are some original Pleasantview residential lots that have not been made over. They are the ones near the coast.
You can solve this problem in multiple ways: you can build these lots yourselves, or you can simply bulldoze them and play with what already is there. But I would suggest building the community lots, otherwise you won't get the cool medieval experience of sending your sims to the tavern with their friends to gossip about the royal family's latest scandal.
I will give you some info on what I was planning for the characters' stories, to give you some inspiration in case you wanted to populate this neighborhood with the characters from Pleasantview:
⦿ The Pleasants are supposed to be the Royal Family. Daniel is the king and Mary-Sue is the queen consort; Angela was the first twin to come out of the womb so she was elected heiress of the throne, explaining the different behaviour Daniel and Mary-Sue show towards their two daughters. Mary-Sue is a faithful Jacoban and invests most of her time in activites for the growth of the Jacoban faith in Pleasantfort, while Daniel lashes out on festivals, tournaments and buffets. Angela is in a forbidden relationship with a plebeian named Dustin: if her parents were to find out, the young boy would probably risk his life!
⦿ Mortimer Goth is the Master Alchemist of Pleasantfort and he works in close contact with the royal family.
⦿ The Burbs and the Oldies are noble families of Pleasantfort and I was planning to build two estates for them: my plan was to place the Burbs on 113 Wright Way (the villa near the coast) and the Oldies in a new lot outside of town, because I imagined them as farmland owners. Jennifer is the sister of the king and she is well liked by the townsfolk, more than the queen Mary-Sue herself. The Burbs are Peteran and some people think Jennifer and John should be queen and king instead of Daniel and Mary-Sue. Herb and Coral Oldie are Jacoban.
⦿ Don Lothario is the town's physician. His story would basically be the same.
⦿ Darren Dreamer is an artist and paints for the royal family and the church. I do not remember his religion but it can be guessed by the furnishing of his house.
⦿ Dina and Nina Caliente were going to own a business, but I was undecided on whether they should own the clothing and tapestry shop (for consistency with their personalities), the tavern (to create a tie with the Broke family) or something else.
⦿ Brandi Broke works at Pleasantfort's tavern as an employee (the tavern was going to be owned by Dina or by a townie, because I LOVE townie-owned-businesses!)

Lucky Palms 🌴🌴
A summary of my gameplay - Part 1
I've been playing in Lucky Palms for a while now. I often jump from one household to another (as I do almost everywhere when I'm not playing a longer story). I started with Darren Dreamer, who I paired with Darleen because they are deeply in love^^
they're a pretty couple...^^

Then I went to Yolanda Shaw, who has a lot ex friends here. Unfortunately, none of them are the father of her baby (who knows where she got herself pregnant... And by whom).
Since she doesn't seem to have much luck with the men in this town, I went with her to the wishing well... Out came, well, first a frog... And then, after she kissed him, Joseph. She took it home and I left her to her fate^^.

Afterwards I went to the Tanner family, it was pretty unspectacular there, but they are nice. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of mother Aya)

Note: I always stay a little longer in each household to see how the individual people interact with each other. And of course I also look at the relationships with other Sims in the city. This city is very lively, there are ex-boyfriends and some of the residents don't like each other at all. And since I play with story progression, the whole thing becomes even more interesting because the relationships keep changing. ^^ ... To be continued

I've been enjoying playing my maxis uberhood recently. I made quite a few premades into townies or just am choosing not to play some households except to age sims up manually every now and then, as it's overwhelming enough as it is! It's maybe 36 households currently I think, so it's taken ages to play 11 days each!

these are not in numerical order i lose my mind abt these ships on the daily
mr. and mrs. drake from @cinamun's amazing "things fall apart" series (we remember the "/indya" tag days ok!!) the love i have for miss indya williams will never die and i swear i feel like i know her like she's a real person at this point, but i have never been more spellbound by a character's growth and development than the kind of writing i see in darren drake okay. these two have been through it, have talked and not talked, have loved and fought, and have gone through hell to be together. never have i wanted two lil pixel people to be happy more than i want them to have a good life with their babies. if that's not love, i don't know what is. (plus the way they abuse that wickedwhims i mean cmon)
jet lem-43 and kana lothario from @gothoffspring's lem-43 legacy! their courtship was so Soft, it literally makes my teeth rot and my heart ache. every touch is so gentle and full of love, they make poses seem as though they were made for these two. i am absolutely gnawing at the walls to see their babies because i know those lil bundles of pixel chub will be precious
@hauntedtrait's mortimer and bella goth are genuinely some of my favorite iterations of my favorite couple, and not just because fangs is my soulmate ok. they're able to add a prose and a warmth to the love between these two that maintains their sensuality while really building a believable foundation of the two's bond, and i'm a big sucker for a devoted morty and a beautiful and kind and mysterious bella ;u;
okay we all know that i'm livin' it up with my husband randy in his motel, and we are of course the top couple here-- pff, if you didn't think i wouldn't be in here losing my mind over the future mr and mrs. finch from @rebouks's incredible epic "somnium", then you don't know me. after my life experiences, i love to see a couple stay strong through hardship: to see them fight and struggle to communicate, and to see them overcome the things that challenge them to come together stronger and with more understanding of one another. courtney is one of the best female characters i have read on simblr in a long time, and it's only fitting that she's earned the love, trust, and protection of one of my favorite good boys <3
and you know, it's a shame i didn't know about them before recently, but @citylighten's sal and eve have a dialogue between them that is honestly so refreshing and so real that i find myself wanting to fcking hang out with them irl. seeing the ways they've grown together, seeing the ways that eve has brought out the softer side of sal and the ways in which sal has boosted eve's confidence in herself, outside of his love for her, for her sake... i just, how could you not love a couple that is so fundamentally invested in their relationship like i am just. besotted.
and personally, the sexual energy between leah morfang and viktor in @aniraklova's amazing universes transcends their outfits and all aesthetics. i just love seein' them together, i really do.
this isn't even all of them i mean good lord. @goodnightlittlewing's henry and bonnie were so adorable that i wanted to travel all over the sim world with them, and @elmleif's cillian and saoirse make me smile every time i see them. hell, i'm almost angry i can't think of all the couples i absolutely adore i'm gonna edit this so much dkfhsdk

This one ripped my heart out and I am going to be PISSED if there isn't a happy ending in the third book in the trilogy.
You First by JC Lillis - 4.25/5 stars
You'd think a book that is essentially an Incredibles AU would be lighthearted, right? You wouldn't think you'd practically be sobbing by the end? Haha! You thought wrong!
Wranglestone by Darren Charlton - 4.25/5 stars
I initially rated this 4.25 stars but honestly I might bump it up to 4.5. It's a zombie story but it was really well done, and I ordered the second book in the series the minute I finished this one.
The Falcon and the Foe by AJ Truman - 3.75/5 stars
Felix Silver, Teaspoons, & Witches by Harry Cook - DNF
This one was too Middle Grade for me.
Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers - 3.5/5 stars
So I won my local indie bookstore's trivia in March and the first place prize was a bunch of books that I never would have picked up on my own, including this one. I bumped it to the front of my TBR pile because I thought it would make a good comp for the manuscript I'm editing - it's about a woman who meets and drunkenly marries a stranger in Vegas, then falls in love with her afterwards. The book is really not a romance though, and is actually about burnout. I might have rated it higher if it didn't sell itself as a romance.

The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley - 5/5 stars
"What if France won the Napoleonic Wars because of time travelers" shouldn't have shattered me the way this book did, but of course it's a Natasha Pulley novel so it absolutely did. There isn't a single one of her books that don't live in my mind rent free for apparently the rest of time after I read them, but man. I'm not sure if this one hurt as much as The Lost Future of Pepperharrow, but it's pretty close. Missouri Kite is the most Gay Little Man™. And Joe, poor Joe. The PINING. The YEARNING. When the reveal happens, I had to go back and read prior sections of the book and good god do they hit different. Different and SADDER. AKDJF;AKDJFKDAFJ;D JUST PLEASE READ IT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
A Destiny of Dragons by TJ Klune - DNF
Not only did I DNF this, I removed the rest of the series from my TBR pile and will be offloading them at my local indie bookstore's next book buy-back. I think the worst part of this one was that he dedicated it to his eighth grade English teacher, who apparently told him his stories would never amount to anything. And like. What an awful thing for a teacher to tell a kid (sidebar, my eighth grade English teacher is one of the reasons I started to really take writing seriously, she was amazingly supportive - thank you, Mrs. Brzezinski!). But reading this series is like...you know, she might have had a point. I KID I KID WE ALL KNOW KLUNE ACTUALLY CAN WRITE but holy shit again, this series is so bad. The writing was a little better than The Lightning-Struck Heart but the characters are so fucking annoying. The term Mary Sue gets thrown around a lot and I'm generally not a fan of its application (since usually it's used to tear down teenage girls) but Sam of Wilds is such a fucking Mary Sue (or Gary Stu, I guess, but down with the gender binary, let's just have one word). Everyone wants to have sex with him and while it may have been sort of funny at first (it wasn't), by book 2, the joke has worn extremely thin. Also there's a prophecy about him, because of course there is. And he's the most powerful wizard ever. And yeah, I've read a lot of books where there's a prophecy about the MC and they're the Most Powerful Magic Person Ever, but they're usually not this annoying.
Chainbreaker by Tara Sim - 5/5 stars
This is book 2 of a really interesting and original fantasy/steampunk series. I really enjoyed the first one but this one was even better. It takes place in a world where time running correctly is controlled by clock towers. The main character is a clock mechanic (obviously an important job) who falls in love with the clock spirit of the town of Enfield (delightful, since my wife is from Enfield and it's not a place you often see mentioned in fiction). This book raises the stakes of the first one and takes place largely in India. Highly recommend.

Hummingbird Heartbreak by Max Walker - 2.75/5 stars
I found Dusty's reaction to the reveal of Brandon's past to be over-the-top and unreasonable (like, unreasonable within the context of the story - obviously characters can react unreasonably to things, but it still needs to make sense for them!). I probably would have rated this 3 stars if not for that, because it's a sweet enough love story.
The World We Make by NJ Jemisin - 2.5/5 stars
NK Jemisin, please do not read this. Jemisin has been open about how difficult this book was to write, and about the fact that she couldn't handle the trilogy she'd planned and took it down to a duology, and…unfortunately, it shows. I loved the first book but this one was a disappointing finale. The pacing was uneven and the character development stalled. Plot threads were introduced and either vanished (Bronca's new girlfriend) or were resolved in a way that felt unearned (the mayoral race, Manny's true identity, honestly the whole big conflict). Aislyn was an interesting character who ultimately felt underutilized. I actually, physically cringed at a couple points during this book—the coda was really just one long cringe, and the other moment was when Brooklyn calls...Beyonce. Who is an old friend. But then Beyonce is never brought up again and I couldn't tell you what the purpose of her inclusion in the book was. I'm sure some people love that kind of stuff but I can't stand it.
I did really love the other cities though! If Jemisin ever returned to this universe, I'd read a book about Faiyum in a heartbeat. His snark and his gay little crocodile earring were chef's kiss.
Jemisin is a fabulous writer and all my issues with this book feel like the result of an author forcing herself to write something she wasn't feeling and just wanted to be done with. Disappointing all the same since I had really been looking forward to this one.
The Sugared Game by KJ Charles - 5/5 stars
It is not possible to go wrong with an AJ Charles book and this one is no exception. I love Kim and Will so much, and I really really hope the third book builds on the trust they established in this one.
Sixteen Souls by Rose Talbot - 3.75/5 stars
I liked this book but I did find myself, at the climax, wondering why on earth living people would sacrifice themselves to save ghosts from...being more dead? Like. They're...already dead.

A Quick Refresh!
Boy okay SO. It's been like 5 months since I've touched this game or posted about it. Here's a summary of my active hoods so as to spare everyone from a million posts of many months old drafts and for my own good LMAO. Read below for details!
Pleasantview
While I've updated most of the premade hoods, I'm playing Pleasantview the most because I love being a homewrecker. There's a supernatural turf war brewing between resurrected alien Bella and vampire Mortimer because that's absolutely fucking ridiculous and awesome. Also, all the premade teens are in college and mingling with SSU premades. Greek life is a mess of love triangles (accurate to real life I think) based on what I last posted there!
MAJOR UPDATES:
Don Lothario and Mary Sue are having a fling against all odds. It is definitely just physical. Also, Don went out with Goopy and it was very funny because Goopy got SUPER pissed at Don for being a two-timer. Er, 7-timer.
Cassie and Darren are married, with one alien hybrid baby and one human baby on the way. Dirk is in college and feels really weird about his dad remarrying and has a hard time connecting with Cassandra or the alien baby...understandably. Oh, did I mention Cassie is a witch?
The Caliente/Broke household is...broken? Something is wrong with the lot they're on so I'll have to figure that out BUT. Nina runs a gym and continues to flirt with every single eligible person on the planet. Dina and Brandi got married and have combined their households.
The Burbs are coping with Lucy growing up and developing a temper, and are raising a somewhat unexpected baby.
Daniel Pleasant and Kaylynn Langerak had a pretty dramatic falling out. They are both living on their own and trying to make ends meet.
Frogpoint
Frogpoint is my BACP set vaguely in a 1970s/80s zeitgeist. You have to suspend your disbelief a little. Right now it's still in early stages with just three families (and I'm building a university since the eldest teen is about to age up), so there's nothing too funky going on yet.
Rita and Lewis Radisson, the young couple, just had a baby. The first born-in-game sim!
The Sikes are a wealthy family on the edge of town with of course a very rambunctious and counter-cultural daughter. I cannot wait for her to go to art school.
Finally, there's a commune of young adults near the not very well hidden secret government lab complex. Something something Cold War something something.
Damerel
Damerel is my medieval hood that loosely follows the Warwickshire Challenge rules + my own rules. There's a lot going on and still several families I haven't introduced. It's busy. The last family I posted about was the Brewers family, which is HELL to play -- operating a business AND wrangling like seven grillion bajillion children, AND satisfying a lecherous patriarch. But I think the blacksmith is up next in my drafts!
There's a university being built (at no cost of course because the coffers of the crown are boundless) because the heir to the throne is incredibly depressed that he didn't attend.

Appearances: Harry Potter Ensemble - Pt 1.
So. As someone who writes a lot of fanfic, I don't always decide to borrow directly from the source material for the appearances of the characters. I'll admit that my canon compliance for that can be tangential at best; mostly down to hair and eye colour, whilst everything else is different. This can lead to some confusion in my fics, because my worst sin in this regard that i'm inconsistent in how I portray them. I have multiple fcs and sims of characters, and I sort of just swap between them at whim. So this is a masterpost list of all the different appearances each portrayal of the HP ensemble cast I use. I'll also try and say which fics I pictured as which faces, because why not.
Let's get started, shall we?
Harry Potter. [+ James Potter, because they're meant to be almost identical.]
First, we'll go with documenting the protagonist.
For a canon-compliant Harry, I made this artbreeder a while ago;
Lord above that's ginormous. Anyway. I'm not, like, 100% happy with this, but here it is.
As may be a fairly obvious choice, my main fc for Harry is Darren Criss. He does a great job fitting the visual aspect of Harry, and an even better job of him being identical to his father; Darren Criss makes a perfect James Potter. All you need to do is watch AVP to know that one.
And, as a sidenote; Look at them <3 this is the golden trio, right here!! Sure, Ron's a bit off, not tall enough, nose not long enough, but he works really well for the role, so I don't care.
But he does a pretty good broody harry, too, so I tend to think Darren Criss when I think Harry James Potter.
Again; for a slightly more book compliant Harry (aka; a wholly white Harry) there's a young Peter Capaldi. In these pics specifically, lol.

Unfortunately, people don't credit as often as they should on Pinterest; (1) Pinterest this is a very good James, and if anyone happens to know who drew it, that's really necessary to know. He looks just like my James sim, fr. Took the image right from my brain.
He looks a little less like his dad and more like his mum here, which is Incorrect, but I still like these sims.
Ron Weasley.
Next up on the list is Ron.
I made this artbreeder a while ago. I think this is basically perfect, and looks exactly like how I think of him, except the nose is too short.
The blog is gone, but this art by xia-hainex has always been my favourite Ron fanart.
I'm very picky about Ron's face. I don't have an actor fc for him.
But I do have a sim :). You can see the influence, lol.
Hermione Granger.
Hermione has the most fcs out of the Golden Trio. 5 in total. First, her more canon-compliant artbreeder;
Next; those five fcs.
First up; a duo of fcs - one for her younger years, and one for that version's older years. Ella Eyre + Stevvi Alexander.
Of course, as shown above, there's always Bonne Gruesen, who played her in AVP. Which, as you can see, was an image that held a lot of mix dominance in the artbreeder (which I did through combining various images of these five women, plus some general tweaks.)
Nathalie Emmanuel is a version where Hermione kept the buck teeth :D. Would mostly be used in muggle AUs.
But this ^ really does look like book 7 Hermione during the horcrux hunt, don't you think?
Grace Byers is a bit glamorous for Hermione, I'll admit. Sometimes I use her for her mother, instead.
Elarica Johnson is the final fc option for HG, very similar to Nathalie Emmanuel. If I were to give HG a sister, she'd probably end up with Elarica whilst Hermione keeps Nathalie. Also an option for her mother, I suppose.
Because I should mention this; I often use Hayley Law for Mrs. [heacanon name: Eudora] Granger. I haven't actually got an fc for her dad, but the one consistent thing about him is that he's Jewish, but he can be european or african or middle eastern or whatever, I don't care about that part. (Same, really, for Mrs. Granger. The one prerequisite I suppose is that they not match; my Hermione is biracial, and has the specific complication of passing as (depending on the person guessing) either ethnically White British or solely Ashkenazi Jewish, even if her father is not that. Most people miss the black half of her ancestry if they never meet her parents. And, to note, thanks to the schools she was sent to and the care her family took, Hermione has never experienced explicit racism towards herself, and her first personal exposure to prejudice is the whole Muggleborn mistreatment thing. It hits her pretty hard :(.)
[And, to note; I know that my Hermione's ancestry does not match the ancestry of the FCs, and that the situation regarding... all that doesn't really work with some of them, but I'm also not really happy with any one of these, particularly. Hermione's always been the one I find hardest to cast, because my thoughts are so specific but not... exactly refined.]
This is my sim of her, which of course matches what's in my head better than any fc ever realistically could. She's also pretty close to the artbreeder, just, you know, better. Because it's not ai generated. (I tend to use artbreeder as a visual aid when creating the base ideas for things, nothing more.)

they held it in the evening so it would be all gothic and stuff... you know how it is. also after work and school because it's wednesday. aww it's so cute... i'm not usually a darren/cass truther but they're still sweet.
step siblings now. imagine having mall goth the sim as your step sister. especially since they're like opposites in terms of shyness she would annoy him so bad if they had to live in the same house.

meanwhile dirk nearly pissed himself at the party because the broke brothers were hogging all the bathrooms.
apparently the game decided they had a vacation booked, probably from the last wedding, but i will be honest i don't feel like another honeymoon so i sent them back home. I think it'd more fun to have a vacation somewhere else and with more people anyway :)
after the party guests all cleared out I guess Beau stuck around to keep chowing down at the buffet. at least it wasn't a werewolf day i guess

Patch Household [1]
We take a break from the premades to handle this spawned NPC who managed to get in with the main cast.
She signs her lease
And finds out she's pregnant xD
Aj is working now so she couldn't call him to give him the news but that didn't stop her from wishing to talk to him and invite him over.
Thinking Darren - as the only other person she knows - would make a nice woohoo for her and they talked, became friends and she asked him out on a date. Then invited him over but he said no both times -facepalm*
Luckily Aj was waiting by the phone and came the moment she called him.
They took a b-line to the couch where Aj finally fell in love with someone!
I'm glad she's pregnant because Aj is working very hard to make that happen xD

in my personal hood "blueblossom valley" (aka bluewater village + riverblossom hills + desiderata valley + pleasantview), lilith ran away at the end of the pleasants' round so i made it so that she ran off to live with dirk.
after moving in with dirk she was quite literally Thriving and became an overachiever. the whole round was just so chill and very fun and i didnt wanna stop playing it..
also my take on darren in this hood..... he was sooooo cute
T: Worst Sims Experience
okay so my worst sims experiences are mainly from when i was a tiny child who barely knew how to play the game, so all of my sims died A LOT. as i got older, i got better at the video game, so now i can, if i wanted to, play big families on fast mode without minding Too Much.
However, there was this one experience i had that really sticks out in my memory and it was fairly recent, and it really hearkened back to the childhood era of "ALL OF MY SIMS ARE DYING HELPPPP"
this got super long and rambly so i'm gonna put it under a cut

so, there's a version of pv for download where, among other changes, the brokes have a dog. because everyone in the hood got a pet. this is important because the brokes are already struggling financially with 3-4 mouths to feed (that's counting brandi, dustin, beau, and sortakinda the unborn baby all together) so i'm sure you can imagine how adding a dog into the mix would complicate things. and that's not even getting into the fact that the dog hadn't been trained to not piss everywhere or chew the everloving shit out of the furniture.
i also had a mod installed at the time that allowed teens to run away with the press of a button, so i was like "haha what if i made dustin run away?" yknow just to see what would happen. and i firmly believed he'd come back after i called the police. so dustin ran away, i called the police, and i waited. no sign of dustin. for HOURS. I Quickly Realized That I Fucked Up. I FUCKED UP SO BAD.
things rapidly went downhill after that, because their only source of income was gone and brandi obviously couldn't get a job because that would mean Leaving The Poor Little Ones Alone and the game HATES that. so i'm basically fighting tooth and nail to keep social services at bay and keep poor brandi from dying asleep in her cereal.
so days go by, and dustin is still missing, and by the end of ONE WEEK the whole house is a mess, covered in dog piss and diapers and the wrecked remains of the furniture because brandi was too tired to scold the dog enough times to stop the little menace from ruining everything.
i was so very confident that dustin would come home soon, if not immediately, and my confidence was slowly destroyed over the course of a single in-game week. of course, the alternative to a runaway teen returning immediately or soon after running away, is the teen returning one day before their birthday, and considering how Badly things were going, I Obviously Could Not Wait That Long. because otherwise dustin was gonna come back to a house full of dead bodies.
it got so bad that i eventually had to pull random neighbors passing by on the street inside the house to do the chores that the sole adult was physically incapable of doing, due to being incapacitated by sleep deprivation and hunger.
one of the passersby was dina caliente and i had brandi come running out of the house practically BEGGING dina to take the dog. once i got rid of the dog, things became slightly easier but it was still a total mess without dustin around. i eventually quit without saving because after a certain point it stopped being darkly funny and became just actually Depressing.
TLDR: don't let dustin run away ever. Ever. also don't give the brokes a dog unless you're willing and able to Handle That Responsibility.

Cin where do I even start?! First of all I think Indya might be my favourite sim in all of existence because she loves her babies DOWN but also, she ain't with the bullshit!! (She's the kind of mother I want to be one day) She's gonna come for DJs neck so viciously that boy is gonna have whiplash and EYE am here for it personally 😌 because ATP I too would like to knock some sense into that boy...
Also laughing my ass off at Jayce seemingly oblivious to the VERY OBVIOUS tea that is brewing 🤣 and I just know Mrs Hennessy Hope is gonna let that alcamahol do some talking 😏
I'm VERY interested to see what Darren Sr response is going to be, because when it's people who fuck with his kids we know he goes straight beast mode but in this situation, it's his kid who messed up so I can't wait to see how this goes down 🙃
Basically DJ is in for a treat and not the good kind! The "I wish the ground would open up and swallow me whole like ole Becky with the good hair" kind.
You really got me tuning in to each chapter like it's my favourite TV show and I love it! 🤣
LETS GO FRIEND!!! Not only all of the above, BUT remember when the ladies had to come for Darren for being more lenient with DJ than his girls and called out his misogyny? He apparently learned his lesson but we shall see.... WHEW!!

So I'm thinking about making a new blog specifically for sims content. See, I'm playing again, but I'm about to do something out of pure spite and frustration and that's namely what I'd be posting.
I don't have an official name for it, but it's like what I'm considering my "fixed lore" save/timeline. What do I mean by that? I mean the sims 4 timeline makes no fucking sense.
Yes, I get it's an alternate timeline. But, Sims 3 perfectly set up for that altered timeline. The time traveling shenanigans of the Goth siblings would have drastically altered the timeline -> Alexander trying to ensure his mother would be safe and not kidnapped by aliens, never to be seen again (bc she died on Lunar Lakes; the Bella in Strangetown? A clone, at least as far as we can tell. And all bc, according to an old "interview", Dina and Nina were after the Elixir of Life) and Cassandra and the other girls sending a whole ass man back in time with no memory? Yeah, it's gonna cause some chain reactions.
And then they ignored it. How do I know this? Because Malcolm Landgraab is the same age as Cassandra Goth in this; even though he should be the same age as Bella and Mortimer. And Holly Alto is a young adult, even though she's a whole life state ahead of those three in Sims 3, and then Dustin Broke and Darren Dreamer, as well as the Pleasant Twins, are all young adults and the same age as people who would have been elders by the time they were teenagers. Not only that, you can tell not a lot of thought went into it originally because they're backpedaling on lore, as we're seeing in the refreshes and that Katrina Caliente is a clone of somebody and not Dina and Nina's real mom, which, yeah, no she's not, but they can't get their real mom's name through the censors on the gallery. But there are things about that that they could have fixed.
And it's not even just 4. Kaylyn Langerak is the same age as Bella and Mortimer? But she should be younger?
Anyways, this save would address that. It would bring back some iconic sims from 2 and 3 (though I probably will keep at least some of the Sims 4 townies bc I love them) and see how their lives playout. Some ideas I already have;
Old Man Don Lothario with kids from different baby mama's. Don Jr will exist, kinda following his Dad's hoe ways.
Olive gets to raise her kid and this time his name is not Nervous Subject.
Holly Alto broke away from her family, married her best friend Bebe Hart, and started her own family. But Vita and Nick had another child and raised them to take over the empire and they, along with the other babies of the game, are all in college. They'll be young adults, like the kids of the game, but early young adults like college age while the kids are like. Late 20s.
A little bit more focus on some supernatural sims, including Bella trying to become a spellcaster.
The Montys and the Capps family feud doesn't happen.
I'm still debating on making the blog but I'm at least excited to make this save.

Meanwhile, Hamuera’s new friend/romantic interest Mateo came over. He hugged Hamuera and Hamuera blushed as Mateo pushed a lock of stray hair off his forehead and leaned in. Chrissy came downstairs just then, and Mateo and Hamuera jumped back from each other. Hamuera grumbled good naturedly, he loved his mama but he wished she hadn't interrupted because maybe Mateo might've kissed him and he was ready. “Hey nooboo.” Chrissy said, and Hamuera blushed as Mateo grinned. “Who’s this?” She asked raising her brow. “My um, my friend Mateo Iqbal.” Hamuera added. “It’s nice to meet you, ma’am.” Mateo said in his southern Chestnut Ridge accent that made Hamuera feel all swoony, sticking his hand out for Chrissy to shake. She did so, looking impressed and Hamuera grinned. “Well, come on in.” Chrissy said, and she led him and Hamuera into the living room.
In the backyard, Cam had come over and when Chrissy told her Piper was asleep, she hung out with Piper’s mom Luna. Luna talked to her about fabricating stuff using the robot arm tool at the community center, and Cam grinned as Luna jokingly mimicked it's movements as it would build things. "So, how are you and my daughter doing?" Luna asked casually. Cam smiled softly. "We're good, Mrs. F. I really really like her." Luna smiled. "Good, but as her mom I'm obligated to let you know that if you hurt her, I might have to hex you." Cam laughed and Luna grinned. "Don't worry, I'd never do anything to hurt Pipes." She added seriously, her brown eyes looking into Luna’s amber ones. Luna nodded, and she smiled again. "You're so good for her, Cam, and I'm happy you make her happy and that she's so glowy and confident partly because of you." She said, and Cam looked slightly bashful but grinned. "Plus, she's always mooning around being like Cam this and Cam that, and Cam’s hair and arms and jawline and such." Luna laughed and then covered her mouth. "Oh shoot. She's going to be so mad at me for telling you." Cam’s eyes sparkled mischievously. "No, it's fine Mrs. F." She said, storing away the information so she could lovingly tease Piper with it later.
Meanwhile in Piper’s room (while she was napping), Emily talked to her mom and kept sighing. "What's the matter, nooboo?" Megan asked quietly in Mandarin (she wants all her kids to keep in touch with their culture and language so she tries to speak Mandarin and Simlish both). "It's just-how can a sim be so cute?" Emily said. Megan sat up straight. "Oh, okay. So who is this sim?" Emily blushed. "Cam. Well Cam, and Vikram, and Kiran but Cam currently because I saw her in the backyard with auntie Luna and my heart felt like it was beating weirdly. Ugh, why does my brain have to like her face?" Megan’s eyes widened. "Okay, nooboo." She said. She suspected Emily might be crushing on Cam, and thought it was kind of cute, but didn't know about the other two sims. "Vikram as in Piper’s best friend Darren's boyfriend?" Emily nodded, looking sheepish. "I don't want to crush on him either but he's cute and my brain is in that dumb crush mode." She said. "And Kiran?" Emily blushed. "They're my classmate, and they're funny and cute and have blue hair." She sighed again. "Mom, how do you even deal with crushes? I mean I keep getting these annoying fluttery feelings and I don't want to be distracted from soccer or horseback riding lessons or hanging out with my friends." Megan smiled. “Honestly Emmy, sometimes they just happen and that’s okay too.” Emily groaned playfully. “So I’ll have to keep having these feelings?” She asked. “Yup.” Megan tried not to smile at the horrified expression on her daughter’s face. “So, do you think you’re pansexual, or queer?” She asked gently. “Pan.” Emily said, twisting the friendship bracelet on her right wrist and blushing. “Just like mama.” She added. Megan smiled. “That’s great, nooboo. But still, no dating until you’re 14 and your mama and I meet the person.” She added sternly. “Mom, honestly.” Emily said, but she smiled.

He himself, finally got the sign, that he asked his late wife for. One day he answered a call from Cassandra Goth, the woman he had set his eyes on, ever since drawing her after her graduation.
Cassandra: Hi Darren. We haven't talked in a while. How are you?
Cassandra was a timid and reserved person. It was unusual for her to make a call out of nothing.
Darren: Oh, it's okay... Haven't sold many pictures in the last weeks but it's okay. Dirk is a great help around the house.
Cassandra: Paintings are a great cue. I wanted to ask you something.
Darren had a bad feeling about this.
Cassandra: Don asked for my hand! Dad is not convinced yet, bit I'm sure he'll sure accept. I... Well... would you mind drawing us on our wedding day?
Darren felt like the ground opened up beneath his feet. Cassandra would get married? To Don Lothario of all people?
Darren: I... excuse me Cassandra, I'm afraid I can't do this. I... I'm about to start a job at the Sim City Chronicle soon. I won't have time for commissions anymore.
He hung in before Cassandra could argue back and fell into the armchair next to the phone. He couldn't believe it!
