#I’ve had polls and asked for feedback but the fact is that if the comics go under a readmore they don’t get read

Hey I love your comics!! But can you please use a read more on them? Scrolling endlessly past them a dozen times on my dash isn’t the vibe, and I’m reluctant to reblogged because the posts are so long. Excited to see what else you’ve got coming in the future!!
Sorry, but no. I’ve tried using read mores and the fact is that the engagement is substantially lower than leaving them out. Both Leda and Seventh Score got a fraction of the love both the witch and werewolf comics got.
You do have some options, though. Mobile allows you to turn on a thing that automatically shortens long posts, and all my comics are tagged “do you love the color of the comic” so that you can have them be hidden by default.

That last ask does make a good point about what you want vs. what we want. I think ever since you came back from your hiatus you managed to strike that balance well. Both Alien Dice and Monster Girl Academy were chosen by you without a poll, and so was Peter and Company (even despite the constant asks) and returning to Dominic Deegan, even if at first it was chosen by poll. So I don’t think it’s fair to say that we are calling all the shots here; plus there’s the obvious fact that you wouldn’t be doing things the way that you are if you didn’t enjoy it. What do you think?
Also obvious is that reader polls are a good way to drive up engagement, which is also why I am being a “vocal minority” so much, to show you that I actually engage with your content. And this is only gonna go up from now! The only reason why I haven’t had a lot to say about Gene Catlow or Alien Dice is because I’ve missed the 1200+ page “how did we get here”.
Great work on that Alien Dice review, by the way. I do agree with you that, from what I’ve seen, it’s the most competent comic that you’ve riffed so far.
I’d say you’re right. People REALLY REALLY wanted me to riff those Zootopia comics but I didn’t want to. Despite that I like to have a healthy balance of riffs chosen by people and riffs chosen by me. I love feedback, I like it when followers like you engage with my blog. To me, a loyal following is better than a big following.
Another reason why I put up polls is because I am not a hardcore webcomic reader, and thus my readers know way more about different webcomics than I do. I’m yet to riff a comic that I would consider a DUD in terms of riffing, and I trust in my audience’s ability to be able to select the right comics for me to riff.
Monster Girl Academy was selected by me because I wanted to riff it for a long time and I finally found a place to get the comics for free, but I also wanted to have a choice to go along with that. Alien Dice I chose randomly from the rifflist. It had apparently been suggested by my friend years ago, but they never elaborated on what was bad about it like the suggestion writers do these days. Outside of few exceptions, there was a time I selected ALL the comics for the rifflist. That was way back pre-hiatus, I had to scour the internet just so I could find SOMETHING that’d look riffable. I really appreaciate everyone else finding stuff to riff for me now.
Also, glad you enjoyed the review!

So why did you choose to put this comic in the Splatoon universe? Other than being squids, the comic doesn't seem to have anything to do with Splatoon.
Aaaaa since I still get this question a lot and only given the short answer, I’ll provide a longer explanation under the cut.
TL;DR –– I didn’t plan to make a comic for my splatoon ocs. But, followers wanted more information on my ocs, so I threw a plot together from an old non-splatoon comic of mine.
I started this blog with just goofy comics and nothing plot-based. I planned to keep it that way and in the splatoon universe, until people start asking about backstories…
I had nothing lmao
The personalities of Rocco and Emilio were from an abandoned comic I made in high school, so I used their backstories and formed it into the splatoon universe the best way I could. I still kept getting more and more questions so I eventually just combined that old comic with these characters.

I know it was a stupid thing to do (with a dumb plot at that), but I really thought I was going to throw away this blog. I never committed myself to ANY of my comics I’ve made in the past… I didn’t think I would EVER touch past Trent’s involvement tbh. Hell, the fact I have 6,000+ followers is a fucking mind blow to me.
Why didn’t you just make them human??
Well I made a poll about that. I also got some personal feedback in my inbox and everyone liked them as squids. So that’s why they are still in this universe. One day, I’ll prolly break down and make them human idfk honestly.
