please tell me all about them :3 how did they meet?

Thank you so much it always makes me so happy to see people like my creation! Especially since these are some of my favorite guys 🥺

Navi is from a southern town called bright dawn! There was a patch of forest inhabited by the fae called the wild lands. He used to be a human before becoming a fae.

He was a man that meant well and did his best to be kind but would sometimes get in trouble with various people due to his oblivious and stubborn personality.

He was a wanted man for a crime he didn’t commit. He found this out when coming back from the tavern to seeing his mother burning alive while the soldier started walking towards him. The soldier was picked off eventually by the fae but This led him to hide away in constant fear. He hung out with the townsfolk and most enjoyed his company (he really loved to help any of them if he could)

Rizene is a fae that used to keep away from mortals due to preferring to study his magic with his mentor as well as being fairly shy. A smart and gentle man who cares incredibly deeply but worries. Oh my god he worries so much

Their dynamic is very much guy that gets into trouble without meaning to and guy tending to his wounds

They actually met fairly young! Around 19-20 or so! (Navi current day is 45 and rizene 46!) they mutually pined for 25 damn years

Rizene saw a fey trying to attack Navi despite seeing how cruel mortals can be to fey, despite everything he saved him. Rizene was weak too due to not giving into any fae callings he had because he didn’t want to lose his memories. He got sick easily and getting into a possible fight was an awful idea but he didn’t want that mortal to get hurt.

Navi was indebted to him and asked what he wanted. Rizene said he wanted nothing more than for him to be okay. He was curious about him for reasons he couldn’t understand. Something about the warmness of his smile but the sad eyes that looked at him rizene found him so beautiful.

They spent time together frequently. Most people assumed they were a couple with the way they constantly gazed at eachother with loving and adoring eyes. The lines were constantly blurred. They’ve held onto eachother during tough moments in both of their lives.

Rizene loved showing Navi his plant magic. Truthfully he was pretty weak because he didn’t want to harm people to get stronger. But Navi was so amazed by even a simple trick of rizene making a closed flower unfold. Navi thought it was incredible everything he did.

The lines between friends and romance kept blurring over and over. Staring at the stars together as Navi held rizenes face. It kept getting so close to them kissing, one time Navi was right on top of him while they were in a field and was holding his face so softly but Navi always kept pulling away subconsciously. He wanted rizene so severely. He dreamt of him daily and nightly. What his lips would feel like against his, the way rizene was so kind and yet rizene had no shame in expressing his desire. It tended to fall on deaf ears due to Navi having 8 Wis. LOL.

But anyone around them could tell. Various pixies would snicker while Navi laid on top of rizene. At night he allowed his mind to wander. Navi thought he was just misinterpreting what Rizene was suggesting. They’re just very good friends right? . Right ? Wanting scared him. He had like Catholic levels of guilt . He wasn’t even religious he just had problems

A big turning point in the relationship for both is when rizene started to get more sick due to not giving in to his fae nature(he was still too attached to his mortal life) and navi gave him his name. To have rizene live- or at least not be as sick anymore. He could see rizene getting sicker each day and he hated not being able to do anything about it.

It was the only time rizene has been truly upset at him. He was confused. Navi understood the gravity of giving his name away but he gave it away instantly for him. Anything to help him after rizene has helped Navi for so long. Navi sacrificed part of his humanity for Rizene . They now share eachothers heart.

Navi got teleported to Barovia for the start of the campaign. Im not going too heavily into the campaign because I played him for 2 and a half years and quite frankly there’s too much to even get into. But the most important thing is he got magically teleported and lost all contact to rizene for months and experienced horrors.

The link between hearts was shattered. Rizenes heart strings were being literally and metaphorically pulled. He didn’t want to believe Navi had abandoned him without a single word after 25 years spent together.

Rizene started to get sick with worry. Unable to eat or drink he started to go under a depression magical slumber. Barely able to stay alive. Thick overgrown vines started to surround his home and in turn him. He started to look more monstrous and hollow. Like someone was taking his soul from him. A flower wilting.

Navi was eventually able to contact him after months but rizene was already so far gone it was hard for him to even speak. He decided he had to go back for him and help him and the party decided to help as well. Navi missed the sound of rizenes voice so much it was like hearing an angel call. While at sea with the party he longed to return to land and hold rizene and tell him everything he was too foolish to tell him when he was young. He didn’t want it to be too late.

Navi had a choice to go learn about his family secrets being kept from him(VERY shortened but it isn’t about them right now). And help save the world that he knew was ending. Or to live the life he’s always dreamed of having but never allowed himself to and save his lover from deaths grasp.

Save him after rizene has saved him so many times.

The final straw was when the party had to sleep surrounded by a pile of fey corpses when headed to save rizene. Being surrounded by the scent of death while returning home after he was both physically (he believed himself to be fully human but one night his back erupted and he grew tentacles protruding out of him, he hid them often and was ashamed of them in some ways.) and mentally changed (so much happened.) was breaking him. He couldn’t take it anymore.

Rizene would die if he left him again. He just got him back. He never even wanted to leave him. Especially not after he’s confessed to him so openly. Offering the chance to become a fae but he would leave this life behind and eventually lose all memories of this life save for rizene. Navi decided to choose love over the world.

Navi grew the horns when becoming a fae and he started wearing his monstrous features with immense pride! Infinitely happier in this body, in this life. Rebirth that he welcomed with open arms. No longer fearing the tentacles protruding from him like an extra set of arms as well as them taking on a vine form. Hell if anything he loves them! He can give rizene even better hugs :)

He’s a million times kinder to himself and more open about the things that still harm him, he’s still stubborn and a little oblivious but it’s incredibly apparent how much he’s changed from the scared man he once was.

He chose to stay with his lover at the end of the world. He is more focused on hedonism and loving this new life, giving this new life his everything that he didn’t give to the old one.

Tired of hating himself. Tired of self sabatoge. He couldn’t hate himself forever he had to learn how to love himself and god he does now. He adores himself. He’s become very bold and loud, the type of guy to have a hearty laugh that shakes the room. He’s generally good company but he never seems to talk about his past. Too focused on the feelin good in the present! The fae around him don’t mind they just assume he lost his memories early. Truthfully he may as well have.

He’s a incredibly skilled bard and painter! He makes renaissance esque paintings in his down time. He is obsessed with the act of creation, loving something he makes so much. It’s a rare sight to not see him partying or creating! He’s painted rizene an unbelievable amount of times he’s his favorite subject. He doesn’t need money but he’ll give people paintings if he enjoys their company! Doesn’t even care about getting a gift in turn. Dude is THRIVING in the faewilds

Rizene is delighted seeing his husband have so much visible love for himself, seeing him smile so frequently warms his heart, to be alive and hold him so close. Hear his heartbeat and know Navi is happy he’s alive. See how far they’ve both come. He gets to live happily with his husband.

Their wedding (they had two. A more private one and a more open one I’m talking about the open one in this case) was a show. Absolutely beautiful and fairytale esque sight of a million flowers growing and firefly pixies lighting it up and hey other fae aren’t gonna resist an event for havin fun!! Danced the night away and they never resist a chance to say “my husband” when talking about the other.

Rizene has grown into himself as well! He accepts he’s not the mortal he once was and he’ll never be that version of himself ever again. He hunts and is able to turn into a monstrous version of himself! Navi likes it to put it lightly LOL. I keep trying to make updated art for it and can never get it right!! Art below by dinosaur draws. One of my favorite images of his design 💜! ……he’s very big in this form. I have a crush on him okay

Fun fact: besides darlin their favorite pet name for the other is my prince. Since Navi saved rizene from a slumber and Rizene “whisking him away from his life of woe” so to speak. they kinda see eachother as the others Prince Charming! They’re madly in love with eachother and sickeningly sweet all of the time. They become dads at some point in time but that is a story for another time….

I’m not very good at describing characters as much as I’d like to be due to my mind kind of thinking in excited zig zags but I hope this is at least somewhat understandable!! But for a more concise thing if you’re curious ! Beautiful fics both Written by @babaistrans !they characterized them perfectly and is beautifully written too :D (they’re from before he became a fae but they still kinda have the same mannerisms!)
