There is plenty of talk about adolin calling kaladin bridgeboy being a bit. Off. But something that continuously bugged me was that everyone outside of bridge four constantly calls them bridgemen long after they've been freed. Like these guys are your honor guard why are you still saying "bridgemen, come here." They aren't bridgemen anymore my dude
#like the inner monologues dont even think 'former bridgemen' its just 'adolins bridgemen guards'#i dont remember exactly when they stop doing this (probably when they get cemented as windrunners)#but its so rancid to me#you could argue that it was used as a distinction between these new troops and the old ones#but i think 'former bridgemen' or 'kaladins men' are far better and dont feel like literally every character sees them as lesser STILL#and this whole thing starts to get really messy with how bridge four DOES identify as being bridge four even in RoW#i dont know man im going back to work#stormlight archive#words of radiance#taravangians-storming-posts

For the record: Daniel got a “Have First Kiss with Daithí” whim after he apologized for his earlier behavior with some hand-kisses. As they’re out in public, that’s not happening: but it did earn Dai a forehead touch. 🥹

GIANT FINFIN HAMA BEAD ART TEMPLATE
this FinFin is as tall as 67 hama beads, making him about 30 cm/12 inches tall. I think.
he requires SIX 29-pin boards to make and 2025 total hama beads. woah.
to the left you'll see each unique colour he has. from top to bottom, the amount of hama beads for each colour follow: 44, 262, 262, 140, 6, 604, 674, 9, 24.
his logo only requires two pin boards and 568 hama beads (350, 218). that still sounds like a lot, but you could fit it on the remaining space at the top of the pin boards that finfin is on. the yellow shading of the text was altered to cover more area, so that the resulting fused beads would be far less brittle.
the colours themselves were not based on available hama bead colours, so it may be quite difficult to recreate this perfectly. it's also MASSIVE and super inconvenient. but tbh. I've made bigger pieces. I wanna do this

Would anyone be interested in hearing about my various Kirby OCs? I’ve only drawn a few of them at this point, but I have a lot of them and have come up with what I hope are interesting backstories for all of them. If anyone is interested I might make a post giving a summary of every OC I have so far, and then I’ll eventually draw them.
#text post#Kirby#Kirby OCs#I think that the only OCs I’ve done a decent drawing of have been my Metadede kid and my Taransusie kid#but I have a bunch of Kirby OCs a lot of them are just family members of canon characters#I have two OCs who are Bandee and Sailor’s moms (they’re siblings in my AU)#they’ll show up in Knightfall in Dream Land so we’ll see them there#I also have two OCs who are Adeleine’s dads (she was found by two Waddle Doos as a baby and adopted by them)#and I have some OCs who are Taranza’s mom and dad and Sectonia’s mom and dad#I showed their moms in the most recent page of Knightfall in Dream Land but I haven’t drawn their dads yet#Taranza’s mom is the only one of the four who’s still alive during and after the events of Triple Deluxe#and she has a backstory that’s just as tragic as her son’s backstory#and I think the last OC I have right now is Susie’s mom#I always kind of wondered if she has a mom since we’ve only seen her with her dad#in my AU Susie’s mom and dad got divorced at some point after she disappeared#and when Susie reunited with her father she thought that her mother was dead#but her mom is still alive and at some point I’ll have the two of them reunite#anyway those are all my OCs so far it’s the Metadede and Taransusie kids and then some moms and dads lmao#would anyone be interested in hearing more about all of them?

Tears of the Kingdom isn’t the first time we’ve heard the phrase The Imprisoning War in Zelda lore
It’s also the term used in the Downfall Timeline as a precursor to LttP when Ganon was unleashed from the Sacred Realm and the King and the Sages rushed to fight the Demon King and re-seal the Sacred Realm, with no mention of a hero
Could TotK Imprisoning War and the LttP Imprisoning War be one and the same, with specific details being lost to time by the beginning of the game?
#totk spoilers#i’m not going to read any tags or comments on this post until i’ve completed the game#i’ve only found about three or four memories so far and i know this is a completely far-fetched conspiracy but it’s fun to think and theori#totk#and the zelda lore/continuity is a hot mess anyway.#it could be entirely possible that the Imprisoning War took place during the Era of Time directly after the heroes death#(at a young age i stand by the theory that link was sealed by the master sword after it was sent back in time with the knowledge ganondorf#was going to kill him right there in the temple of time after following him to get access to the sacred realm)#and we never got to see the king of hyrule for all we know he could have been a goatman#and icr if the queen was ever mentioned to be canonically dead. and it’s not the first time that nintendo has whitewashed a zelda though#this time it would be retroactively. or it could be set as lore states a long while after the era of time.#it’s never stated who tried to access the scared realm just that people wanted to claim the power there for their own. it could have been a#new ganondorf. and if the kingdom had been completely ruined by the ill-fated fight between the hero and Ganon and the following battle#between himself and the sages; it’s entirely possible that afterwards the zonai could have descended from the clouds to help re-build the#kingdom; and in a fit of morale-boosting refer to it as a founding of a new nation#or maybe not every war has to have a different name and the zelda lore makes no sense#that’s the more likely one imo lol

right now i’m running a game (mostly) about summoning vecna and what that actually means and well. everyone’s mad at you for wanting to erase yourself from the collective memory of the material plane until a dog girl you’ve never met kills a reality-warping ghost and suddenly you’re size category small

A two-sentence thought/observation I had about Stranger Things’ Vecna is ballooning into a several-page thesis on how to construct a memorable villain, visually/aesthetically, and you are all going to hear about it. Eventually.
#and I am having a fucking BALL#i'm still not finished season four (yeah STILL) but even with the spoilery stuff I've been unable to avoid#and the growing hints that all the apparently random disparate aesthetic elements are connected by Lore(TM):#I still don't think he works on a strictly aesthetic level and my brain is on FIRE trying to work out why exactly that is#(the very very tl;dr version so far: no coherent primary aesthetic element linked directly to a recognisable silhouette#+ also just Too Much additional visual elements with no clear throughline)#(a good memorable visually compelling villain should have a Hierarchy of iconography. this guy's just got a constellation)#(if you have to tell a story about why the visual elements are all connected and you don't have One that people can look at and go#'oh yeah that's that guy'#then your villain is not aesthetically coherent or memorable! sorry!)#anyway. i'm going to write a post once i've got my thoughts together so i won't rewrite that post in the tags here#but yeah brace yourselves. a very enthusiastic amateur breakdown of Why Certain Villains Are Visually Iconic#(And Why Certain Others Failed At That)#(and not just the one mentioned in the post either)#coming soon to a tumblog near you

#to continue with the thing about how I can't just think a guy is cute because I immediately enter Lovesick Mode#my mind wandered back to the guy with the nice smile#and now my brain is like sdhahgds#which is not going to help me focus on the million responsibilities I have#but aside from that the reason I even thought of him is because I might have to go to a different campus for spring semester which is three#times as far from my house as my current one and I was remembering how when I was talking to him he mentioned how lucky I was that I lived#10 minutes from campus and like dhshdh he jinxed it because now I'm gonna have to.. take steps#like bro I don't drive!! how can my mom drive half an hour four times over just to take me to school#so my next step would be going and getting my dang license but that process would still be ongoing by the time spring semester starts#and if I stay on this campus it will literally throw off my whole schedule and I could possibly even have to quit my job#ughhfhdgsg#elly's posts
