I'm back with a bang. Project Fiction - an Irumatsu and Irujnko fic will be finally published in its entirety! First arc is up, at about 50k words and 7 chapters. Read more to see if it's your cup of tea.

Do you hate some things about DR canon? Do you wish the talent system in Hope's Peak was more explored? Then read no further! I'll copy some bullet points from PF's description on AO3 and explain them in more details.

This work has: - Heavy OOC for Iruma and Kaede

PF!Iruma is not lewd, but she's a hothead, a reserve course student, and she also likes basketball. Weird, right? She also has nothing to do with inventions, her true talent is more of an abstract concept in line with your usual 'hope' and 'despair' gimmicks. It allows me to create a story with no killing games, but filled with tension similar to how Death Note is considered a 'shounen' even though it's a detective mystery.

As for Kaede, be warned that she only appears in chapter 8 for the first time. Remember her pre!game line in v3? "I don't have faith in humanity". What if I based her entire character on that and pitted against this Iruma? You can't imagine how heated it gets. - In-depth exploration of how Hope's Peak works, what's a 'talent' and how it impacts the chosen students

Do you know how talents are assigned? How scouts do their work? How exactly Kamukura Izuru was made and what studying on the reserve course is like? I know, and I'll show you in great detail.

- Nods to the canon, while turning the plot of DR1 upside-down.

Junko's game plan stays the same: kill the council, rebel the reserve course, fill the world with despair. With Iruma, however... not all goes as planned. It's not a story about people stuck together until almost all of them die. We go from Hope's Peak to an open world, and you'll see famously neon Tokyo in all its glory.

- Heated gay arguments, a weird online game, absurd talents beyond your average human standards.

While the story goes beyond ships and their dynamics, it has that in spades. I also present to you a certain game by Team DANGAN, and it's not about a pun-making bear torturing students. Imagine Genshin Impact's combat but more tactical, focused on PvP. That -- and much more.

- An abundance of author notes. This one has a lot to say.

I'll be straight with you, I put a shit ton of details into my works. Chekhov's Armoury is a trope I came up with before I realized it existed. I'll give you fanarts, songs, memes. Basically I've never had a lot of readers so I had to get used to creating fan content by myself.

- Typos I am translating this work into English, and while I'm pretty confident in my abilities, I am not perfect. It's kinda hard to know how real people talk when you're not exposed to the language on a daily basis. If anyone wants to be my beta, I'll be honored.

Translating this thing is ungodly hard. Writing it took me 4 years and was even harder. This story means a lot to me, I put my heart and soul into it, and I truly hope someone will enjoy it as much as I do. I also hope someone makes a TV Tropes page for it one day :D This is my only dream as a creator.

Give it a shot -- you won't regret it.

13. do you carry a daily bag? what does it look like? what’s the weirdest thing in it? yeah my backpack that's preppy with pink and tan colors. weirdest things are post-its i still keep from compliments my classmates gave me on my english projects during gallery walks where we have to write down "glows and grows" for others (it's not weird but i had to write smth shh)

14. if you had to ship mickey with another gallagher, who would it be? lip is the least weird option bc debbie, carl, and liam have a way too big age gap with him and they look up to him. that leaves fiona but she's also a girl 😭 and i know i just said cheating is fun to read and it could just be an au but lickey makes me mad AKDJASF (no hate to the shippers) i'm thinking way too hard abt this let's just go with frank

riyuu says ; im..where did this come from lmao. i had this sitting in my drafts for a while now, i didn’t know when to post it considering i have like three other fics finished up as well. i had a lot of fun writing this one! yanfei’s characterisation was a gamble but i like to think she’s the least bit childish in private moments, and the whole bit of, “i’m leaving, i’m leeeaaaaving!!” with madame ping was just too cute.

i asked a friend of mine for those ^^ they sound really pretty. was kinda nervous about using them but then again, liyue is based off of china and yanfei is from liyue, so technically she has connects to the chinese culture. the thought of reading up on and learning chinese nicknames to call her is,,man i think she’d melt.

"good morning.."

"to you as well," you nodded, coming up behind her to wrap your arms around her waist. you felt her relax under your touch, humming in content as she prepared breakfast for the two of you.

you had been tempted into going to the kitchen by two things; one, the smell of fried dough sticks and two, the empty space next to you on the bed.

a pleasant surprise, it was for you, when you saw her moving about in the kitchen, making breakfast.

you gave a quick kiss to her cheek as you reached for the jug of milk. grabbing two small glass cups, you moved towards the counter next to the one she was working on, and made yourself at home.

"you seem to be in a good mood, fei. what's the occasion?" you questioned as you carefully poured out the milk in even quantity into both glasses. yanfei liked her milk to have exactly. . . a teaspoon of honey, was it? you busied yourself with preparing the milk while she worked on the dough sticks.

"well," she started, a slight pink covering her cheeks due to the cold breeze rushing in from the window. "lady ningguang gave us all a day off today, and possibly tomorrow as well."

that caught your attention. ningguang had given her a day off? not that it was an uncommon occurrence, but especially considering the circumstances of rex lapis's death, along with the slow workings of the city due to the arrival of winter in liyue, anyone could have assumed that the qixing would have been busier than ever, resulting in yanfei working overtime, more often than not.

she must've noticed your confusion, as she came up to you and pressed a soft kiss on your cheek. "don't worry about it, we surprisingly don't have much work these days. in fact, lady ningguang was even thinking of letting us have a few weeks off for winter celebration."

winters in liyue were always calm, peaceful, with no sign of snowstorms or anything of the sort. for that, yanfei was grateful. it was in these winters where she would get the rare opportunity to wake up to you, with you, instead of running to work, as usual. she was thankful to lady ningguang for being generous during the winter days, for it was more or less the most romantic time of year in liyue, aside from the lantern rite and other events that lasted a day at best. she smiled down at the food sizzling in the pot, thinking of how, sooner or later, you were going to tell her to be careful and to not burn herself.

you did exactly that, and added a few glares here and there when she reminded you that she handles and generates fire on a daily basis, giggling and backing away when you threatened to cover her in flour.

"xiangling will start finding me tasty, stop it!" she had exclaimed as she tried to wriggle out of the hold you had on her waist as you rubbed flour into her hair.

"waaaah, look at what you did! my hair's gone white, that's against the rules!"

yours would soon be in the same state as hers, and you made a mental note to buy more flour from dongsheng's, seeing as the two of you had wasted more than half of it on trying to paint each other white.

she has really pretty eyes, is the first thought that comes to mind when she turned to face you. she looked at you with curious eyes before reaching for a sip of her glass of milk.

"something on your mind, qing ai de?"

"you have gorgeous eyes, fei."

she tilted her head, looking at you with curious eyes.

"huuuh? i do?"

you approached her, slightly having to wade through the large bath to get to her. she watched your movements as you approached her, her eyes showing anticipation for what you were going to do.

you lifted your hands to her face, softly cupping her cheeks with damp palms. you smiled at her, one which she returned, although a little confused.

"you have.. really beautiful eyes. eyes are a doorway to one's soul, so they say. yours shine with as much wisdom as they do innocence, curiosity and knowledge, mixed together in a way only fitting you, and no one else."

you watched with a satisfied smile as your words sunk in, yanfei's expression shifting from curious and eager to surprised to bashful, her face reddening, and not because of the warm bath you two were in. she averted her gaze, seemingly avoiding your own but still nestled her face into your palms.

"that's not fair..saying that out of the blue. you're unfair.."

you chuckled softly at her words, gently tilting her head up so she was facing you fully. you closed your eyes as you leaned forward, resting your forehead against hers.

"yanfei, wo de baobei," you could feel her smile as you spoke, and you didn't stop the smile that stretched across your own lips. "you are so beautiful, you know?

you go about your day in the city, carrying out your tasks, and you do not see the way children brighten as you walk past, how women look at you with envy and how the elderly nod in approval. you do not know that the city you love so much loves you tenfold in return. you do not know that i love you the way you love honey in your milk and the way you love your hair played with, and the way you love being acknowledged as part illuminated beast. i will love you the way you love having mastered both pen and sword."

she had buried her head in your chest as you spoke, surely to hide her flushed expression and embarrassment. you ran your hands through her wet hair, smoothing it over as yanfei took time to collect herself.

"where.." she spoke after a few moments, her voice barely above a whisper, head still nestled comfortably in your chest. "where did this come from, love?"

"i saw your face when you overheard the secretaries speaking ill of you. do not listen to them, yanfei. you are far better and they are simply envious. you understand that, yes?"

you backed away so she could bring her head up once again, her bubbly persona all but gone, and all that was left was a quiet, embarrassed young woman who was clearly not used to such high forms of praise.

"i do, qing ai de."

she looked into your eyes, a smile making its way onto her face.

"i understand. and i want for you to know that i love you just the same. that i love you the way thieves love a successful heist, that i love you the way the rain loves the kingdom of dendro. i love you the way a warrior loves victory and the way a ruler loves its subjects. i will love you even when this city is in shambles and i will love you even if this world is but a bygone memory. i will love you until the last of my days and even beyond. i want you to know that."

you did your best to keep eye contact with her, but you couldn't help but burst into a fit of giggles. a woman after your heart, truly. yanfei joined you in barely stifled laughter, swaying in your arms as you clung to her for dear life.

"shall we stay, or do you want to leave?" you questioned once the two of you had quietened.

yanfei pretended to think, putting her finger on her chin and humming. you simply chuckled at her antics.

she threw her arms around you in a swift motion, pulling you close. "let's stay a little longer, lady ningguang did say we could enjoy her bathing chambers as we wished."

"as you wish, my love."
