SYNOPSIS: You decided to finally visit Shu after months of being in a long-distance relationship! You didn't warn him about your visit, though…

Staying in a long-distance relationship was a hard decision to make.
Although you were always supportive of Shu's actions, to say his departure to France didn't affect your mood would be a lie. Every day you longed for his touch, smell, the sound of his voice - and everything else. Itsuki's closure wasn't replaceable, and sometimes texting made you even sadder. Goddamit, why couldn't you be next to him? Well, there was a reason. A simple one, but strong enough to keep you in Japan. Flights terrified you, and that made you feel guilty. Sure, it was the safest form of travel, but that's still not enough to convince you.
Shu said it wasn't a problem and never insisted on you coming, but sometimes you felt like it wasn't the case. So, after a few months, you decided it was finally time to face your fears.
And you put your lover in front of a fait accompli.
At first, he didn't believe you when you told him to pick you up from Charles de Gaulle, but it didn't take him too long to realize you were serious. Was he mad? Uh, yes and no? He was happy you were finally next to him but tried to play offended because you didn't tell him about your plans. It took some time before you arrived at his apartment, but you were happy to see his pretty face.
"I told you I'd come and pay you a visit in Japan if you wanted. You could've told me you needed a visit." he scolded you, but the only thing you could think about was how happy you were. The flight was the scariest experience you had, but it was worth it. "I know you're scared of flights."
"Non! I couldn't. I knew that's how you'd react." You mumbled, causing him to raise an eyebrow at copying his speech patterns. "You're right about one thing, though. I'm not going through the flight experience ever again. It was scary."
…
"Pardon?" He fell silent for a moment, thinking about what he had just heard. The feelings you evoked in him were indescribable. Sometimes he couldn't keep up with the impulsiveness of your decisions, but it had its charm. Closing his eyes, he pulled you close to his chest. The way he hugged you made it seem like he was scared of you disappearing. And he was. Shu wasn't the kind of person to show affection, especially when separated, so that was a shocker. "A-ah! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Shuuuuu!"
"Hush." He whispered as you wrapped your arms around him. He stroked your head gently to reassure you that everything was fine. Shu's touch and the sound of his heartbeat washed over all of the stress you had. It didn't matter that you never told him. You were here now - that's all that mattered. "I… thank you." He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
The things he felt for you couldn't be closed in one, simple I love you.
"Thank you for being so close to me. And for flying over despite your fears. I can't believe you're finally next to me, y/n. You're a true blessing, my dear. I'm not going to let you go. Ever." You felt your eyes involuntarily start to tear up. Tightening your hands on his coat, you found yourself sobbing pretty quickly.
Oh, how you loved this man. And how he loved you.
You raised your head, and even though you couldn't stop the tears, the only thing one could see in your eyes was the sheer adoration you had for him. "Did… I say something wrong?" He asked, placing both of his hands on your cheeks.
"Of course not, Shu." You sniffed. "I appreciate that so much." Both of you stayed silent, but after a while, with a gentle smile, he grabbed your hand.
"Come on love, let's take some rest together. The flight must've been long, hm?"

I like writing but I'm so much slower at it than drawing </3 there's some fics I really want to write like steampunk shumika. I also have a few longfic ideas that r probably. never getting written but they include fallen angel shu and devil mika(plus reincarnation), everything is the exact same as canon but mika is a literal shapeshifting cryptid, dystopian post-apocalyptic au etc . maybe someday I'll do like concept designs or art for these. shumika rattle around so much in my brain I love them a lot
that being said, I feel like I don't draw shumika nearly as much as I should. it's bc tbh drawing two or more ppl is hard for me bc u have to do all the work of drawing a person but twice lmao. also posing them is hhhh. but I'm definitely going to work on it, I have a lot of miscellaneous shmk drawing ideas. I also want to draw shu more in general pink bingus deserves more love
I have several animation ideas that I haven't gotten around to just bc I anticipate them taking a really long time to do lol. I animate on my phone and its a bit clunky. I do want to animate more tho bc it's cool

So… yeah! Im back…
I KNOW I KNOW its been 2 years, my last chapter was january 2020. Crazy things have happened since! Tattoos, college being insanely demanding, partners, the whole stupid deal yknow (all of this time involved a lot of hair dye too hahdsggsh)

I dont have any explinations for why I left besides hey I go to one of the most demanding art schools in my country and I can barely breathe when I’m there and my adhd fucks with my time perception, but i’m back and i’m gonna finish + start more fics bc u know what?
