CH 7 - Puzzle Problems

Summary: The puzzles of the police station might do you in before any of the zombies.

A/N: Small slight comedy bit while I'm working on a different chapter.

One thing about this entire debacle is that if the zombies and other monster don't kill you….then these extra ass locks will.

You guess it's because whenever you've been here for the animals, the entire place wasn't on lockdown but it felt like every time you and Leon found a door, it had some convoluted locking system in place.

If it wasn't shape-coded keys then it was having to figure out which picture codes went together to unlock the door. Like picture books in the form of combination lock. It was ridiculous!

How many of these were actual safety measures and how many of these were just to fuck with people?

Electric Door Panel

"Ow!" You yelped from getting shocked, throwing the finger into your mouth.

In hindsight, you probably shouldn't have touched it without no type of gloves whatsoever. Leon came over to you, gently grabbing onto your hand and pulling it closer to him.

"Doesn't look that bad."

"Hurts like hell though."

He chuckled. "To be honest, I figured getting stabbed is a bit worse."

You pouted. "Yeah…I guess."

"Here, lemme try."

You watched intently as Leon carefully turned the small squares holding the wires, getting bits of excitement as you watched the wire light up, indicating that it was successfully connected.

"I always thought the wires would have to be connected on both ends for it to light up like that." You spoke quietly and casually.

Leon shrugged. "Honestly, with so much shit defying logic tonight, I'm not surprised that something like this is different too. Then again…I wasn't much of a science nerd in school."

You smirked. "So what type of nerd were you?"

"I-I wasn't."

You shook your head. "Nah, I don't believe that. Everyone was nerdy for something."

"Nope, normal guy."

"Who walks around like a cute but rejected boy band member? I don't believe you."

With a final flick, the panel's reward was a noise of success and the nearby sound of the now deceased Ben's cell opening.

"All done!"

"Yay…time to get up close and personal with the corpse. Love that for us."

Chess Plugs

The three of you stood confused at the panels in front of you. This one? This was really ridiculous. Plugs…in the form of chess pieces that had to be plugged in in a certain order.

You looked over to Leon. "Please tell me you know chess."

"Um…not really in this form."

"Uhh…ok! Let's try this. It's three on each, right?"

"Yeah." He nodded.

"Alright, then you take three and I'll take three and we'll just plug them in and see if anything sticks."

"Should we be really just plugging ANY of them into anything recklessly?"

"What's the worst that could happen?"

"We trip an alarm and it attracts those monsters?"

"…………..you're right."

Greenhouse Lab

To be honest, you and Leon didn't know what the hell y'all were looking at.

"Are these…supposed to be numbers?" Leon asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I…guess? How are we even supposed to tell which number is which?"

Leon shrugged. "Guess that means more looking around."

Your head dropped down as you groaned. "I hate this place so muuuuuch."

Leon gave you a reassuring pat on the back. "Yeah…same."

Lab Herbicide Synthesis

"Alright! First step?" You asked.

"Ok, hit the red button and it should switch with the tube that's above the green button right now and then press the green button."

This was nerve racking. "OK…?"

"Now switch it out with the empty tube that should be above the blue button."

"O….k! Wait! Where's the blue tube going?"

"Wait, it's blue?"

"No, it's the tube that's over the blue button, I'm just calling it the blue button."

"Oh ok. So then the tube that's over the blue button, just switch it all the way over and then press the green button."

"Exactly what are we doing, Leon?"

The rookie shrugged. "I think……………..the goal is to reach where that red laser line."

"Oook. What's even in these?"

"It's supposed to be an herbicide."

You heard a success ring before the green liquid began completely draining down and coming back up in the form of the tube that Leon had you place in earlier.

"Woo!" You let out with a clap and a little jump before turning back to Leon. "I think it worked!"

Safe Room

"I hate these soooooo much."

Leon nodded. "Well, if it makes you feel any better. I think we're almost home free. Once we reach the lab underground, I think that'll have a free ride out of here."

"Hopefully…"

Evie let out a tired whine as you rubbed the top of her head.

This time when his breath hitches in his throat, it sounds more like a hiccup, followed by an unrestrained sob.

“He touched me, you let him—”

“Don’t you fuckin’ say that to me!” Steve snarls, shouts, pulling desperately at Bucky’s briefs. “I’ll kill ‘im. I’ll fuckin’ kill him, Bucky. I don’t care what kind of fuckin’ war it starts— I’ll kill that motherfucker.”

i love the new chapter so muuuuuch ;A; bro is having the wisdom teeth out experience mentally rn. omg hiiii shen-ge hiii ^v^ woah... you bought friends :) its sofa time. obv hes more put together than that but i know my horse tranqs (600mg ibuprofen) get me acting like that for a bit after i first take them so dfgkjhdhfgkj

He's based a little bit on how I get when I need to take my painkillers to function, since I sort of assume a demon like him (especially one that may or may not be currently putting his organs back where they belong) would need an extreme dose of human medication to be really out of it.

I've been told before that I'm "deceptively coherent and eloquent, just a little slow" even when I'm on my meds - because I'm the sort of person who keeps playing out different scenarios in my head and what I would say if this or that happened, so for most common scenarios I have a kind of 'canned answer' ready to go.

Especially when he just crawled out of bed and had to go answer the door MBJ has a certain amount of 'processing time' while he comprehends what's going on and digs out the right reaction from the fog in his brain, but he has planned ahead as to what he would say if the peak lords confronted him or SQQ discovered that he's a demon.

...also he might have just blanked on everything that YQY said to him after SQQ sat down next to him, because omg Jiu-ge is not mad at him, this is great, this is going better than most of his scenarios. *unconscious happy purring* And then did an excellent recovery based on context clues from what MQF said. XD

Peter not caring much about humanity but finding some joy in it and in having Jonah around and if the world ends there is no more Jonah. Also Peter getting attached to his fake son Martin, because he helps to raise him as they are to look after him for the first 12 years of his life!!! Parental lonelyeyes, dating yet not, slow burn. I am screaming crying and all that. i have to write it, but i am busy and tired and sighs, i will eventually i promise there is a lot of things i want to write now.

Also we got the Them, in Jon the antichrist with his best pals, Sasha, Tim and Gerry! And in the other side of the most epic failure of a child switch, Martin the fake antichrist, raised by a pair of disfunctional supernatural creatures <3

Agnes as Anathema Device!!! The girl with a whole future set on her back. She could be Agnes Nutter yes as well, but i think its more fitting.

Also if you wonder why Basira? Well her trying to cut Jon off from consuming live statements in s4 makes her a good famine in my eyes. I got more ideas and characters for the rest but im sort of ordering it in my mind yet. Im debating if i should do a one shot or like a short fic 3 to 5 chapters. Anyways, an idea for later.

I tried reading it before the anime was released. Honestly I didn't like it at first, because I thought Denji was your typical pervert protagonist who usually falls accidentally over girls ecci style and stuff... dropped it.

But thanks to the anime I've been reading it again.

I WAS SO WRONG!! now I can justify him for everything, love Denji so muuuuuch, wish him all the best and all the happiness in the world.

I need to know how nad!reader reacted to the Ted lasso finale. Was she sad? Was she “upset” with Jason? I have so many thoughts

I think she was so excited to see it and overall just so proud of all of them and the work and energy and love that come together to make a positive thing! Despite the fact that she’s avoided spoilers and all that, I think her experience watching the third season has been weirder for sure because she knows them all now. It’s muuuuuch different for her to watch this season (even as opposed to season 2) bc she was around for it. She was having Friday dinners and occasionally tagging along to Sunday matches! So at the end of the day, I think she knew how things were wrapping up for the characters and I think that by the time she’d SEEN episodes 9/10/11, she knew what was coming. AND as Jason’s fiancé, I think she’s also excited for them to live a life outside of the show. They’ve ONLY known each other since then, so they’re both excited about the next chapter!

But she’s absolutely team Roy and Keeley so she made those opinions clear as fuck

I’m so glad you enjoyed the chapter! I was originally going with venison and just jam, but the more I thought about it the more I was kinda into the idea of trying it; like, turkey and cranberries works, pork and stewed apples, why not venison and jam? So I added cream in there to really fuck it up - that made it disgusting enough for me, I truly hate cream (long story short, I had an eating disorder when I was a child that has forever put me off it plain/stand-alone dairy products - most I can tolerate is cheese so long as it isn’t overly processed).

Poor, poor Daemon - ain’t no peen-in-veen action for a while, haha! His dick is in daddy jail, he’ll have to find other ways to cope. You bet he’s got some fucked up countdown scrawled somewhere to the day he gets vag again! Gerardys was an ignorant moron, but I’m hoping Ūlla’s showed him the light and he’s gonna be less annoying in the future; he’s a trusted physician in canon, so we’ve got some inroads to make there, I suppose. I’ll give him some wins, help him out a bit.

I’m hoping to include some reaction scenes next chapter (still haven’t started haha, taking one more day and I’ll start planning on Monday) which should include Daeron! I love him so muuuuuch.

I just love how he pretended to be goofy, but it shows that he took Kou's pain seriously.I really think about him a lot and he would be 100% very happy. I just know there was a smile on his face just because I'm thinking about him. It was such a small thing that would make my little boy happy.

I skipped what Amane said to Kou about Mitsuba. He was telling the truth here because he described his own pain in this way through the pain of Mitsuba, who also couldn't pursue his dream and also after death cannot do it. Mitsuba and Amane are similar in terms of grief and dreams, although the situation of their deaths is different. Amane perfectly described his own pain and Mitsuba's. No matter how much Amane regrets or how much he would like to do otherwise, there is no chance of it. Death is the end, not the beginning. This is so real. My boy just showed that he really regrets what he did. This is really something to read from his words. I want his happiness so much.Yes, I want him to be lucky. I love so much how much and how much passion Amane has for space and the moon. He loves the cosmos so much, his passion is so fascinating and he believed that someday people would be able to fly to the moon and he was right, but he gave up his dreams and how much he loves the moon, the cosmos for the purpose of killing his brother. So sad … boy … my sweet boy was giving up his dreams for this one purpose for a reason. Give him luck AidaIro! He has suffered a lot already!

Monarch im loving 24 hours so much, like I don’t think there’s has ever been a main character that I relate to so hard. Neji is precious and beautiful and I had to give him the softest story I could.

And I definitely feel the same way about Kiba sometimes, because he's not really my type, but I definitely grew to appreciate him more whilst writing his chapter. He really does love fiercely and writing his pups was so much fun, I love making little OC pups for my boys!!!

I knew I wanted to do a 'going into labour' scene and Kiba felt perfect for that because that man seems like he's always in labour. If you're wondering if that five child was his last child, then no, it absolutely wasn't. He ends up with 8!! Pups!!
