Still Robophobic?
Chapter 2 while crawling through all of K1-B0′s text so I can inanely chatter and make depth that probably wasn’t there because it makes me happy.
and you can’t stop me. Once again I am serious this is all of his text so this is LONG. (and if you didn’t read my first super long post covering Prologue/ch1, you might want to do that first)

Also I totally just realized Keebo is totally hiding behind Himiko after Monokuma’s return to life and I just MISSED HIM lol. He trusts Kaede and Shuichi, even when they’re being sketchy as heck and says he’ll think of plans too, because more plans are better than less. shame upon me for overlooking more of his trusting and trying to help nature. MOVING ON.
Cold open with the funeral that starts at Kaede’s portrait so you think it’s current but no this is for our viewing pleasure only...Gonta finds the horse a hint...Kaito abuses a doorbell and shepherds Shuichi out of the room...get to the dining hall and Keebs is muttering questions so he can be the first one talking in a scene again!
K1-B0: Writing...?

As Keebo is garbage at people, he has zero reaction to the Hatless Reveal. The human has removed part of their clothing and he does not care. If you’re curious, Maki, Ryoma, Himiko, Keebo and Kiyo are the only ones not to remark on it at all. :v
Kokichi: Kirumi, be my mom!

even keebs knows you two are being hecka weird by asking that guys. Which is probably the joke that the robot calls them on this. Or it’s him not getting the point of moms/what they’re asking for...since you know. Built in a lab...(Though he does know, since he made fun of Kaede that way.)

Angie: Nyahahaha! Keebo and Kokichi seem to be getting along swimmingly!
Everyone’s eating and Keebo is just listlessly staring at food. Till Kokichi decides to loudly announce to everyone that’s what he’s doing. Which, judging by the fact Kaede had to ask...Keebo might have told Kokichi based on how he says ‘he forgot’ that and no one has really noticed he just watches. It’s been a busy set of days, I suppose. Angie is right in a way, she notices how Kokichi’s poking isn’t getting as much of a response and how the little punk keeps pushing on to get some words out of him. Course, it mostly looks like he’s making fun of him, but that’s Kokichi! for an ‘emotionless robot’ you sure picked out his emotion, tiny terror.
Things Keebo doesn’t call robophobic: being told to eat broken electronics. He is pretty down though, Kaede’s FTE makes it pretty clear he’s pretty jealous that he can’t eat. Considering it looks good to him and all. (Who programmed that. Why would you do that.).
Shuichi falls into the depressing narrative ‘everyone is faking being normal’ mode after that conversation, we talk about the horse a hint again/Gonta’s gullibility.
Kokichi: Nee-heehee... Gonta, you're so gullible. Y'know, if you keep being this gullible... You’ll be killed before you know it. Understand?
Shuichi: ...Ah! The moment Kokichi said that word, the warm and casual mood shattered.
K1-B0: What's wrong, everyone? Is there a problem with Kokichi's advice?
Gonta: Oh, Kokichi... You no should say thing like that, even as joke.
Keebs can sorta read the air to tell the mood just got real nasty...but has no idea why because to him it’s perfectly sensible advice. this boy. If someone is tempted to commit murder, logically they’ll try to trick people. Who do you trick? Someone gullible. He knows it isn’t a joke.
No one actually answers him either, though he can probably guess by Tenko calling Kokichi insensitive. this is why he’s bad at people, people ignore him aaa
Kokichi tries reminding people hey monokuma is totally gonna exploit your glaring weakpoints lol/ups his dislike score, said bear shows up, kubz give area unlocks/ make an attack on titian reference with the nape of the neck thing and they skadoodle. (keebo also having a neck weakness...tsumugi....)
Kokichi: Hmmm... Seeing that robot-looking one get left out makes me think of Keebo...
yes keebo, you really, really are. No one else even says anything about this, Maki moves the conversation to the items they just got. Poor guy wants to pretend he isn’t that left out. Oh well...he’ll probably figure it out...eventually...
Shuichi gets given the job of rubbing items on things because he is the Protag so Go Unlock Stuff, Boy.
Keebo hangs out with Tenko near the to-be-unlocked pool.

Tutorial robot strikes again. There is information I know, so i am going to say it and have no fluff dialogue. Tenko has a pretty sweet little scene with Shuichi here and he’s just beep-boop my protagonist powers know a puzzle when I see it.
K1-B0: The ivy withered in seconds. What remarkable technology...
Tenko: Ah! We can get in! We can go in from there, right!?
K1-B0: ...You intend to go inside? That course of action seems dangerous.
Monophanie: No, it’s not dangerous. There’s just a pool in there.
This is why no one invites you to their DnD sessions Keebo. Sure, it’s true they probably shouldn’t blindly blunder into new places but you literally just told Shuichi how to open the door. ‘Ah, a new discovery. Time to ignore it.’ Of course he’s impressed by tech bordering on magic, which is fun. I wonder if the Kubz got summoned to make sure Keebo didn’t chicken out on exploring :v He honestly seems to trust they won’t lie to them, or at least not blatantly/in ways that would get them killed.
Tenko: What should we do? There may be a pool, but we’re not going for a swim, are we?
K1-B0: But...if it is not dangerous, then maybe we should take a look. It is never bad to have too much information.
Shuichi: Yes, I suppose you're right...
K1-B0: It looks like there's a pool inside. We should take a closer look. It would be best to know the specifics.
Easily swayed, this robot. Two seconds ago you were all ‘let’s not go in there’ and now you’re This Is Totally Not Dangerous, time to Take A Look. Because the Monokubs said it was okay. It had the opposite effect on Tenko, but she’s outvoted by the ahogeholders. I’d say ‘make up your mind’ but this is how Keebo makes up his mind. If he knows something ‘for certain’, he wants to know more. If it’s iffy, he’s cautious. It does look like he’s indecisive as hell though xD
Shuichi: ...Then I suppose that dream is pretty far away.
K1-B0: It’s not necessarily a dream of mine... But swimming with everyone does sound fun. If I tried to swim, I would just sink.
Shuichi: ...And that one is even farther.
He tries to relate to Tenko a little bit here, in the swimming is her dream but really he just thinks it sounds fun to be included, he knows he can’t swim...they’re in the same boat in that regard! Tenko actually does want to learn to swim, it comes up quite a bit in URDP. Keebo not so much. He really is more chatty about himself in smaller groups :v
K1-B0: I wonder if the day will ever come when I can swim with everyone...
Tenko: Keebo! I was wondering... If you fell off a boat and sank to the bottom...would you be stuck living under the sea, beneath a rock or in a pineapple!?
K1-B0: What...?

He’s scared. By both of them. He doesn’t get the reference at all, obviously. His hopeful wondering that he might be able to take part in something gets redirected into either being trapped alone at the bottom of the sea forever or crushed to death. From a question that basically comes out of nowhere! But he apparently is still willing to go on a boat with proper precautions. To not be left out. he just wants to be your friend guys. you could at least say sorry for freaking him out come on. His struggle with Not Being Swim Compatible continues.
Shuichi: This looks like...a storage room?
K1-B0: I peeked inside and discovered all manner of pool supplies in here. It is fully stocked with kickboards, water polo balls, and even sturdy rubber inner tubes. Perhaps I can float in water if I inflate them and attach them all over my body.
Shuichi: Ah, I think you would look like that tire company's mascot...
shh let him do it, it sounds funny. It’s interesting Shuichi’s willing to say this out loud, he usually keeps his snark in his head. Also, you got a lot of info from a peek Keebo. Thank you for also mentioning rubber inner tubes exist here, as this will be plot relevant later. :p

Non binary keebo is canon. ‘don’t know’ he/him pronouns on the profile page for the robot. Because he literally hasn’t even thought about it before. And it doesn’t seem like he intends to either! He doesn’t start rationalizing out which one he might be, just admits he...cares so little it never crossed his mind. but seriously how old are you. how long have you existed and not a SINGLE person asked you Keebo your backstory is super shaky. Or secretly depressing.
also i totally forgot Miu gets way too excited by the tennis machine. no wonder she takes so long to drag keebo to the lab :v
Shuichi wanders off to unlock everything else, and they all meet back up in the gym.
Angie: Alrighty then, check this out.
K1-B0: That is a peculiar-looking flashlight...So, what of it?
Angie: Umm, I dunno what it is either. I inspected it pretty good...Nyahahaha, but in the end I couldn't figure it out.
we’ve been here for two seconds and you’re back to asking questions aaa Though the fact Angie and Keebo have actually talked to one another again is good, it helps explain why she might have chosen to add him to her ‘friend group’ -cough-
Angie then explains she asked Monokuma, he shows up, sorta explains the flashback lights.

keebo i’m confiscating your question mark key. Taking relying on others opinions to entirely new levels, this robot. But hey he’s actually been answered twice! That’s better than posing the question to the sound of crickets chirping. Tenko seems to like him better in general after hanging out a bit too. (and the whole ‘is not a boy thing.)
Kaito and Kokichi face off in ‘should we use the flashback light’ annnd
Tenko: I'm...staying. After hearing that degenerate’s speech, running away would just frustrate me!
Gonta: Gonta also stay... Is what true gentleman would prolly do.
K1-B0: I also agree with Kaito. Our defeat is 100% assured unless we stand up to this. That’s... how I feel, deep inside. Just a whisper-
Kokichi: You hear it in your ghost? I'm pretty sure robots don't have ghosts, though.

First mention of his inner voice! Kokichi pounces on that, which just gets Keebo to actually stand up for himself a little, though pretty pathetically. He doesn’t seem all that sure if it’s him feeling what’s right or the inner voice though...calling it a whisper. He’s completely convinced to go along with it though, he’s really more of a follower...but of course the outside world is going to compel the protag to get plot details.
then they actually use the light
Shuichi: I can't either...I suddenly realized... I could not remember any important details of the Ultimate Hunt...
K1-B0: It’s no use, I can’t remember either. I can only remember being chased... I can't remember anything else at all.
Way to echo Shuichi’s inner thoughts, Keebo. This whole flashback light should really be confusing him more than it does. but we’ll get to that.
Ryoma: Could the reason be that...we were caught by the Ultimate Hunt?
Shuichi: Caught...by the Ultimate Hunt?
K1-B0: You mean, we tried to escape by erasing our memories, but they found us anyway... And subsequently, we were captured as part of this Ultimate Hunt?
At first I thought Keebo’s ‘returned’ memory might have been slightly different to compensate for the glaring issue but nope! Here he is, stating they erased their memories. and he’s summarizing again lol.
keebs. i don’t care if you throw your harddrive in a washing machine, you are going to very quickly re-learn that you’re a goddamned ROBOT. He doesn’t even question this memory, no one does! (ok, kokichi probably caught it based on what he does right after this but otherwise) did you think you were a slightly less ultimate robot how did this even logic in your head. Questions that will never be answered.
Kaito: We just gotta work together. If we cooperate, we'll make it out of here alive. Just like a certain someone said...
Shuichi: ...Kaede.

he thinks kokichi is actually sleeping. he genuinely buys it when he says I’M SNORING. you sheltered little robot. He is super bad with people in so many new and exciting ways. Which effectively stops him from being a driving force/leading anyone...which is probably exactly what sleepyhead wanted here. Then excludes him further with the not a human reminder, which Keebo still doesn’t actually contest. No fitting in for the robot, can’t be trusted. That and the conversation gets re-directed to the mastermind among them from this diversion. Use Robot for Free Topic Change :v
Keebo doesn’t speak up again at all after this, but he’d probably have no idea what to say about Ryoma just casually going ‘nothing to live for bye’ so. Free time dialogue time!. First time slot...he’s in the dining hall
K1-B0: ...Shuichi, if you have free time, would you like to spend it with me? There's something I want to ask you.

Second time slot he retreats to his room.
K1-B0: There's an area in this school that is closed off. It seems there are other hidden rooms as well.
There’s a lot of hidden rooms! He really doesn’t talk about anything but current events and the school...
Free time ends, kubs bungle the motive delivery, Shuichi watches Kaito’s video...and goes to run off to tell him right away about his sad looking grandparents....
Shuichi: Keebo! Have you seen Kai--
K1-B0: Impeccable timing Shuichi! I was on my way to get you!
Shuichi: You were?
K1-B0: Everyone is gathering in the dining hall. Please come right away. I'll go get everyone else.
Keebo’s been promoted to sleepy student fetcher in the meantime, or more likely volunteered to help Kaito when he proposed gathering everyone to talk about it. Good thing Kaito didn’t beeline for Shuichi or he might have actually seen the video :v
Kirumi: Shall we wait for everyone then? Until then, I can provide you all with massages—
K1-B0: Thank you for waiting! We gathered everyone else!
Korekiyo: My word...and after I was about to finally experience one of Kirumi's famed massages...
K1-B0: Wh-What do you mean? Are you also suggesting that I cannot read the air?

kiyo you’re hurting the robot’s feelings with your massage lusting. Keebo no idea and just assumes it’s a reading the air thing pffft. Getting everyone together to discuss the kubspads is a bit more important, even if they wanted to do something first. Not that anyone is going to tell him that :v
Kokichi: So, what are these videos?
K1-B0: No doubt they’re the motives from Monokuma, but why were they all mixed up...?

The robot has learned the technique of how to cut people off mid sentence, but was a bit too slow on the draw here. This is basically the first time Keebo takes the lead on an idea though, so of course it’s about keeping everyone safe. poor gonta. Innocently having no idea why the weird robot is suddenly pushy at him. The fact this clicked really quick for Keebo while Shuichi is still half ‘but i gotta show it to Kaito’ is pretty interesting, but makes sense. He’s probably less likely to have that emotional ‘oh friend would want to know this, i must let them know’ moment our detective is having. I expect he saw it as a motive first, and all else second.
Kaito is the one who takes over when it comes to confronting Ryoma, because Keebo and conflict do not mix well. because he’s a doormat. He does speak up again though!
Kokichi: Who cares? Ryoma just stated his opinion. Actually...I feel the same way as him
K1-B0: Are you...trying to cause trouble again?
Kokichi: Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not saying we shouldn't care about killing or dying...But I think it'd be better if we didn't cooperate with each other...Actually we *definitely* shouldn't cooperate with each other!
...because Kokichi speaks up! Kokichi likes to remark on him, so darn it, he’s going to remark back on on the purple terror. He keeps going on for a long time here too. The fact Keebo was one to originally bring the ‘don’t share’ plan up might be why Kokichi goes so hard against it here. he doesn’t trust keebs as far as he can throw him, so anything he wants done must be obstructed. It’s early on enough that he hasn’t really had time to confirm Keebo is as harmless as he says he is (usually.) And hey if it doesn’t work he’s still showing himself as ‘difficult’ for future evil plans.
Kokichi: Anyway, I’m warning you all for your sake. Let's just exchange our motive videos instead of cooperating with each other.
K1-B0: ...I cannot comprehend that logic.
Kokichi: Well, now that I've said I won't cooperate, I can't afford to be seen with you losers...C’mon Gonta, let’s go.
good job keebo. don’t refute or argue, just state you have no idea how his brain works. He doesn’t speak up at all once Kokichi leaves either, not even when it devolves into Kirumi getting a bunch of orders. He isn’t one of the ones that leaves so apparently he just...watches everyone eat hot pot :v
Then it’s time for more free times!

In Free time slot two he’s alone still (he’s almost always alone, no matter where he is. Kokichi and Kaito were just in the room he’s in now the previous free time tho.)
K1-B0: I also want to know what is contained in my motive video... But...if a killing were to happen because of that... It would mean that we've betrayed the very wish that Kaede entrusted to us.
I want to know but am putting everyone being safe first. Though also ‘Keebo what on earth could you been shown that would make you thinking killing is okay suddenly.’ Then I’m ‘oh do you mean you don’t trust the person you trade with to not go murder’. Do you have Shuichi’s, Keebo? Is that making you double down on Kaede’s wish, right to Shuichi’s face? Kaito is surprised to know Shuichi has his, there’s nothing saying they had to be ‘swapped’ to match...it’s just interesting to think about.
another interesting thing is Himiko and Angie are hanging out in the same room during this free time. V3 is pretty good about foreshadowing future events if you go talk to everyone!
Anyway, Keebo shows up in Tenko’s parasol event/bonus scene.
K1-B0: I am grateful for your care, Kirumi.
Kirumi: This is more people than I had been told.
Tenko: I'm sorry... I just wanted Himiko to feel like a celebrity, too!
Angie: Can I join? Atua says He wants to feel like a celebrity too!
Himiko: If Atua wants to be a celebrity, then we might as well invite him too.
Tenko: S-Sure... If that's what you want, Himiko. Grrrrgghhh...I just wanted to vacation like a celebrity with Himiko!
Shuichi: ...Would a god want to be a celebrity?
This bit is interesting! Tenko objects to Angie coming, but she must have invited Keebo herself, as he isn’t here to set anything up. He doesn’t spend either of his free time spots at the pool, so it’s not coincidence that he’s there either. Maybe they’ve bonded over their inability to swim. He wouldn't just tag along of his own accord. Tenko then tries to shoo Shuichi away here because of course she does :v
Shuichi: ...What about Keebo?
Tenko: Keebo's a robot, so he's neither male nor female! He barely passes!
K1-B0: ...I cannot tell if that remark is robophobic or not.
Shuichi: Well at the very least, you're better off than I am...
Want to be included...eclipsing need to be treated the same...Even though he’s self admitted to not being either! :v Keebo honestly doesn’t know what he wants. Shuichi apparently thinks you’re enough of a guy to get turfed out with him Keebo, so that’s probably something you like? It’s nice to see Tenko remembered though, considering she was the one who asked him in the first place.
Kirumi: By the way, Keebo...
K1-B0: Yes?
Kirumi: In your case, would you prefer oil over tropical juice?
Kirumi: Keebo, Tenko requested I help her feel like a celebrity. And she has included you as one of her guests... I will do my utmost to fulfill her request, for that is how a maid must conduct herself. So please tell me what food or beverages I can prepare so you feel like a celebrity
Shuichi: Such pride and dedication... Kirumi's prowess as a maid is showing!
K1-B0: Um...I do not require food. And I would not be able to taste it in the first place...
He’s a bit hard to read here! He’s happy with just the offer, but seems a bit awkward about it judging by the sprite being used. Actually being accommodated for seems to put him off a little. It seems he’s fine on oil on the moment so he has no need or desire for it though. Which conflicts with Kirumi’s goal and seems to actually irritate Keebo by pressing. He’s doing the exasperated hands up sprite when he’s stating he doesn’t need or taste food. Would it be nicer to just go ‘okay fine oil’, probably. but he doesn’t since uh. It could just be the ‘I just said no thank you why does no one LISTEN’ getting to him! that and we know keebo has like -10 to tact anyway. That and...asking him what he needs to ‘feel like a celebrity’ probably just sent him thinking ‘THAT’S A FEELING???’ so he just sticks to a fact and pretends he’s not at a loss.
Keebo then spends his time more interested in the parasol than anything else, because of course he is. He honestly looks puzzled by it, it’s kinda cute.
K1-B0: Out of curiosity, do you really need that parasol even though we're indoors?
Tenko: Of course! If you wanna feel like a celebrity, you absolutely need a parasol! A robot like you wouldn't understand what it means to feel like a celebrity, huh Keebo?
K1-B0: Ghhhh... Th-This is a difficult feeling to understand!
Keebo cannot have a nice thing without getting dumped on for it almost immediately after :v He basically admits he doesn’t know what ‘feeling like a celebrity’ is like by trying to justify himself...but really tenko the question was fair and you just go ‘haha robot’ instead of maybe realizing it’s an atmosphere thing not a feeling thing.
In the morning after Shuichi chats with Ryoma...
Shuichi: Good morning, Keebo.
K1-B0: Good morning. Um, have you seen Kokichi or Gonta?
Shuichi: Ah, I haven't seen them...
K1-B0: I see...I saw them earlier...and they seemed to be sneaking around. Given Kokichi's penchant for mischief, do you think he's planning to cause more trouble? Gonta is very earnest but also very naive... Kokichi could easily fool him.
Shuichi: That's true... That is a bit disconcerting.
K1-B0: ...I wonder why Kokichi is so determined to undermine our cooperation. True, Monokuma does interfere with our attempts to cooperate, but consider this...Perhaps what Monokuma fears more than anything...is our cooperation. That is why I think that Kaede was not wrong.
Shuichi: ...I think so too. I’ll always be thankful for what Kaede tried to do for us.
K1-B0: That's right! If we all cooperate, I'm sure we will be able to escape this place! If we meet every morning for breakfast, we will slowly but surely become more united.
Shuichi: Yeah!
K1-B0: Well then, I will go to the dining hall now.
Keebo and Kokichi are mutually on one another’s case and it’s pretty hilarious. He doesn’t call Kokichi cruel or anything either...just mischievous. Even someone terrible at people saw what kind of person Gonta is, and has apparently decided Shuichi is the one who has to hear about his concerns. He’s pretty into the getting along and working together thing, but Kaito really takes the roll from him in most group settings, so we kinda only see it when Shuichi is alone. Though Shuichi maybe uh. don’t be thankful about the attempted...murder...I know that’s not what he means but hahaha it does not read well xD
also Kokichi is totally Keebo’s rival, not Shuichi’s. because keebo is the real protag. :v he’s totally Togami levels of dickery to Keebo, who’s pretty Makoto-ish...even if I do read Kokichi more favourably at times for that sort of comparison :v
Moving on to the dining hall.

Keebo reiterates the ‘kokichi is a menace and has gonta with him’ fact for the rest of the class/people who don’t read optional dialogue. Yet he doesn’t mention how this concerns him like he does to Shuichi alone! because that’s not a fact and we’re in a group setting.

The Ultimate Mage might not have anything nice to say about him, but he’s paid enough attention to notice the weird ‘calm’ Himiko isn’t normal. He’s very much on the ‘no, we are not staying here forever’ train. He can’t parse if she’s being serious or not. He’s also doing the job of reacting since Shuichi is still mostly reacting in his own head instead of out loud. Her argument might compel him a little though, considering how alternate plans of escape haven’t really shown up...

Though he does get an unintentional stab at Himiko here by outright ignoring her ‘magic’ bit to clarify that they’re tricks. He isn’t too great at telling a sort of performance could cheer people up, sure...but people really should be thinking of other solutions too. but no we’re gonna dunk on the robot and go ‘shut up you’re dumb’. The fact he still attends when he clearly doesn’t get how it should help, or why...he’s trying so, so hard.

yes kaito, he already expressed concern over Himiko’s behaviour and basically got told to sit down and shut up. Twice. Of course he’s only focused on the only thing he didn’t instantly get shut down over. You should have backed him up earlier! I really do love Kaito, but Keebo never really benefits from Kaito’s good qualities.

The start of Keebo’s FTE is almost word for word how he starts with Kaede. This is how he introduces himself to people. This is him being confident and secure. Unlike Kaede though, Shuichi has no qualms in pointing out Keebo’s shortcomings instead of letting him chatter on like he does with Kaede. He spends a lot more time trying to show him new functions, apparently thinking he just needs to show one that’s a bit more ‘impressive’ to get a positive reaction. Like being asked questions, or at least a ‘oh that’s cool’ instead of ‘wait aren’t you weak’. But we’ll gloss over the the tragedy in trial production AGAIN.
To the point he takes Shuichi’s baffled silence as a more positive reaction than of the others he got, seeing as he seems to think the detective is impressed...even though we know he’s not. It’s true most people don’t have twenty tools always on hand and a music player that can take tapes and records on them at all times but...it’s easy to dismiss as not that interesting. Even though he’s desperately fishing for validation here. The nicest answer we can get out of Shuichi here...is clearly a lie, to be honest. (Keebo probably uses that music function a lot.)

He takes it as a honest statement and instantly brings up how great his creator is. Keebo...cares about Professor Idabashi a lot. He is bragging, about himself...but everything he is is something his ‘father’ made. Or at least that’s what he thinks anyway...He wants people to know how great his dad is. and that’s sadly sweet. (Since he probably doesn’t exist. or care about him if he was made for this...) The part where he supports of a life of comfort is interesting though. Are you built to bring comfort to the professor, or mostly yourself Keebs? It could be both. It’s nice to think Keebo’s father figure would want him to be able to live comfortably...be able to stand on his own two feet as it were. He might not have a use for many of the functions, but he’s clearly thinks they’re valuable

He just takes it when Shuichi is unimpressed. Clearly Shuichi not being impressed with him is a shortcoming on his part, not the Professor, or his work. Being told he’s lame or disappointing is something we’ve seen a lot of...and apparently that doesn’t trigger his get mad buttons. Think he’s...kinda used to it by chapter 2. Though Keebo will still try and fish for later attention by suggesting he does have a ‘special’ function he’s been told to keep a secret. (Though...what Keebo things is special might not rate such praise from others)

This makes far more sense when you know KEEBO CAN FLY. He’s lightweight enough for that That is incredible. Too bad Keebo doesn’t actually like flying, according to him. Though really, being light enough to travel around where humans can fairly easily when he’s made is metal and carrying quite a bit of hardware is similarly impressive, even if Shuichi doesn’t really see it. He does correctly get that Miu would probably be impressed though!

Keebo might not be able to get bitten, but he’s not having a good time at the insect meet and greet either. He doesn’t talk during it, and his post dialogue doesn’t mention his own feelings. I imagine bugs crawling inside him would be unpleasant though :v Hopefully that didn’t happen. All those armored plates have edges for things to get at though...hm.

Over the top and flashy for...recording audio with very good quality. No wonder it uses so much electricity if he needs to light up to get it to work. Or he was just trying to show off since he’s personally getting back at Kokichi for this actions here...or at least making sure he’ll see some consequences. Not that it matters, he just gets made fun of anyway...even if he tries to defend the tape being metal as a way to seem less unimpressive.

Keebo just thinks all his human friends should get some sleep, but he’s probably wanting to go charge if that light show just gobbled a chunk of his battery. It must be one hell of a drain if he can go a week normally without worry...

Shuichi actually asks if Keebo’s alright! Actual concern instead of more dunking! Keebo asking if Shuichi is okay is not as much of a surprise, but it’s nice to see he admits he’s happy that he was able to be helpful. He wants to be useful. Goes and downplays how he helped in order to keep stressing how ‘please ask me if you need help I WANT TO HELP’ :v
Then he’s off to go to the Magic show, which he probably isn’t super interested in but Everyone Should Be There, so he’s gonna go.
Also, we learn from Angie that Keebo and Kaito were the designated equipment carriers from Himiko’s lab. I guess it wasn’t too heavy, or Kaito might have been doing the brunt of the lifting. Also, when you talk to Angie before the show...

Well, he’s impressed by the work his friends did! And seems like he’s at least semi-interested in seeing Himiko’s talent in action, even if he knows it’s trickery, not magic. He’s always ready to be a supportive sort of friend and praise their efforts. not that he gets it back all that much.
He does get caught up in the tension of the show and seems to worry a bit after Gonta runs up to the stage.

She’s busy trying to hide she’s an assassin, but it isn’t like the rest of the kids have too much time to worry about that. Keebo is probably a bit more shaken than he lets on though, he doesn’t confront or talk to Kokichi at all while he’s busy accusing Himiko, and usually he does!

Behold as Kirumi tries to send both protags on a pointless wild goose chase! The underwater trick and how it works turns out to be completely irrelevant! Which of course, Kirumi knows and is banking on. :v She’s sneaky. Anyway, Kaito is Shuichi’s partner for this case...
K1-B0: Although there are many unknown variables, the first thing we need to make clear is...when was Ryoma murdered?
Kaito: Well, in the middle of the show, obviously. The culprit knew how Himiko's trick worked and took advantage of it to kill Ryoma. In other words, everyone watching the show isn't suspicious.
K1-B0: ...Kaito, you didn’t attend the show either, did you?
Kaito: N-No, but I'm still not suspicious. I forgot a promise...so I was just eating breakfast. You got it!? I’m not suspicious!
K1-B0: I do not understand how that explanation is supposed to convince me.

Robot is right, ‘when’ the murder happened is one of the most important details of the case. So thankfully, he didn’t just immediately try and follow Kirumi’s ill motivated advice. Apparently if Kaito gets questioned by Keebo his brain just goes into shock. Kaito isn’t dumb but he has this weird habit of getting flustered with Keebo’s blunt questions. Maybe because he’s figured out Keebs wants some reasonable explanations! and he doesn’t really have one and just...tries to justify himself in a way Keebs is not impressed with at all. He doesn’t provide any other information, but that’s not a big shock. Considering he was both at the show and the meet and greet and had to recharge, he didn’t really have a chance to see anything of use for this case. this will be a trend.
Shuichi: The fragments of the broken glass water tank have been piled up. There are so many tiny pieces...Gonta and Tenko certainly didn't hold back when they threw Keebo at the glass.
More proof of robot abuse. but really Keebo doesn’t come up much in this investigation. Kirumi actually shows up a second time to distract Shuichi by giving the ‘clue’ that Gonta was the last to see Maki at 8PM. She really had plans to not get caught. We have no need to hear from our robot friend again until pre-trial time.
K1-B0: ...Is everyone ready?

I suppose it is also your job to hope. Though it is a little sad that he’s worried about letting Kaede down. Most of the others are more concerned about the trial and the case surrounding it at the moment, but this is what he’s stuck on. Shame and disbelief. this robot understands empathy very well, okay.

oh look who’s the first person to agree Himiko is suspect after Kokichi/Angie point to her. Keebo is just outright wrong here! This is why he is not the detective :v Somewhere along the way he’s decided ‘during the show’ was the time of death, whoops. This is also a bit weird becauseeee after the nonstop debate about the cause of death...
Angie: Ryoma drowned, Himiko changed places with him, and then the piranhas ate him. Right?
K1-B0: No, Himiko only had 60 seconds to escape from the tank...Even if they changed places at the start of the show, that's insufficient time to drown someone.
Kirumi: If that is the case, then when did he drown?
watch out the robot knows how long it takes to drown a man. But this is why his other comment is weird...he knows Ryoma couldn’t have drowned during the show? I suppose he didn’t know the cause of death...but it’s in the monofile...throwaway line you aren't meant to think about too hard but dang it

K1-B0: Could that mean his body was hidden until the culprit made it appear in the tank?
Gonta: Hidden...where?
Kirumi: The culprit would have had to hide the body near the tank, and then show it during the act.
He gets back on the right track after Shuichi points out Ryoma had to die before the show. I super didn’t notice this the first time I played, but Kirumi is always here to make the correct idea seem unlikely and try and steer conversation away from it! and of course kokichi helps her derail it back to explaining the trick.
K1-B0: How did Himiko escape the water tank?
Angie: Maybe she just climbed out and no one noticed.
So Keebo kicks off the non-stop debate about the water tank :v Because asking a question is his favourite thing to do, and he just tried suggesting the body could be hidden, so he’s filled his doing things quota.
Shuichi: The staircase also has an escape hatch, one facing away from us. It’s placed so that the water would not drain from the staircase.
K1-B0: In which case, a person could exit and leave water inside the staircase.
Shuichi: However, that person would be soaked, meaning that *some* trace should be left...That would explain why there was a puddle around the stairs...
Rephrase for the audience and give Shuichi a gap before he has to launch into another explanation. He’s quick to pick up the logic, but he doesn’t really need to apply it since Shuichi usually does that part too :v
Shuichi: ...It's because she changed her uniform.
K1-B0: The dormitory is stocked with uniforms. Did you hide one behind the stage in advance?
Himiko: Nyeh... Nyeeeh!

He does get to do it here though! V3 is nice in letting the other characters also confirm things without Shuichi’s handholding, but he will still be doing the bulk of it, obviously :v keebs can be smart.

K1-B0: Then the culprit never would have considered hiding inside the staircase with the body.Entering the staircase *after* moving the body is much faster, and seems more rational too!
Tsumugi: Then...Ryoma’s body wasn’t hidden in the stairs?
He’s back again to confirm his earlier point was correct! With extra logic on his side thanks to Gonta going where he wasn’t meant to. and yes mugi that is what he just said please pay attention. He’ll keep defending it too, such as in the debate afterwards.

Shuichi’s busy agreeing with Korikiyo here since he actually goes into what another option might be other than reiterating it’s not the stairs. Trial goes on, Miu correctly accuses Kirumi but of course, it’s too early and baseless so we need to argue with her.

Even though he says sorry, this triggers a mass panic debate :v Though it’s the logical thing to do, he can occasionally figure out putting people on the spot for murder can be uncomfortable and apologize for it. This is a friendly robot who is way nicer than most people are to him gdi. Miu, Kaito and Kirumi squabble it out. Keebs ends up being in TWO conversations :v

He caught it, and apparently had no interest in following up, as that segment switches to Angie asking after Maki’s alibi. Keebo decides to poke at Kirumi’s alibi instead. which is the weak point for this debate. All business today it seems!

K1-B0: Did you really leave the gym at 9:00 p.m.? Are you sure you did not stay at the gym?
Of course the bullet that breaks it is Kokichi’s account. Because Kokichi and Keebo get on like a house on fire :v which of course means it’s time for the two to squabble again.
Kirumi: This information could have been told to us beforehand.
Kokichi: Sorry! Forgot! I definitely didn’t keep it a secret to make the trial more interesting!
K1-B0: Forgot...? It seems far more plausible that you were telling another lie.

Of course, the alibi ends up being worthless since the time of the crime isn’t what the kids think it is. (Later it’ll damn Kirumi but right now? not so much.) It makes Kirumi look like less of a suspect so it’s actively harmful, whoops :v So were you ‘forgetting’ because it won’t help solve the case yet...or just having fun. Either way, Keebo shows that he really needs to install a sarcasm detector, that was REALLY blatant. But sassy robot returns, he goes from angry to eye rolling once he realizes it’s more of a backhanded complement than an insult. ‘Why yes my memory IS better than yours, annoying purple meatbag’.
Too bad it ultimately leads to Kirumi being off the hook so Kokichi can get his ‘make Maki and Kaito fightfightfight’ game on but I like this interaction. He gets to feel proud of himself a little :v He keeps this attitude for a bit, considering...

He’s still eye rolling here, but offers his agreement. which yes, it is true...if either of the accused is the culprit. Which they aren’t. Keebo doesn’t know this, obviously but it’s still weird to see them ‘working together’, but this happens more often the further we go. Mostly because Keebo will follow anything with a solid/logical backing. Kokichi might be a liar, but he generally has a solid bit of evidence or logic to springboard off of. (even when taking us in the WRONG DIRECTION. if you wanted to pressure maki we could have done this in a way easier way you little gremlin). So really, these two will team up more often than Keebo would with say...Kaito, who prompts his next line.

Yup. Kaito is more confusing than Kokichi. Kaito is basing Maki’s innocence on nothing but what he feels, which people can sort of get. We all have ‘hunches’, the backs of our brains picking up on little things that we might not actively be paying attention to, and he’s got a lot of belief and trust to give. We can get it, some people you just want to trust! Keebo doesn’t get it. Error, no input found, please give me a provable, actual reason for that hunch. I kind of think he doesn’t even get hunches himself. He can clearly worry, or have concern, but he might lack those sort of gut feelings on if you can trust something or not. After all, he can actively search through his own ‘brain’ and explain why he feels a certain way, he doesn’t need to just ‘have a feeling’.

Are you trying to convince Keebo, Kokichi? You keep reiterating your point right after he speaks. Keebo is basically admitting he’s completely undecided and not taking a stand either way, but he’s usually pretty wishy-washy...because having an opinion involves what he thinks. and he doesn’t like admitting what he’s thinking very much. Certainly not if he doesn’t have a fact to back him up.
Shuichi lies in the following debate. keebo will basically always follow shuichi, he’s the ultimate detective. Though hearing everyone else agree/trust him first probably lets him consider it true more easily. (and kokichi just nudging shuichi he saw that lie but not doing anything about it...)

Maki’s testimony + Kokichi’s admitting of telling Ryoma Maki had his kubspad + Shuichi’s lie about overhearing= enough to set this as ‘the truth’ for Keebo. It is true, but here comes Kirumi to instantly derail them to the wrong detail first. When doesn’t really matter right now!

There is evidence, and even then he’s saying ‘think’. he’s so hesitant to speak in absolutes right now. As he might be wrong :v The whole Maki debacle was confusing for him. But now Tenko is repeating the question Kirumi posed and we go on a merry goose chase and have a scrum debate about it. Keebo’s on Shuichi’s side again. (He always will be, with one exception.) It works, considering we start going on about the ladder and whatnot and slam headlong into a logic wall until Maki says ‘okay no, time to talk about Where Die, not how get in fish tank’. Considering perfect memory and the horror that was that moment it was probably very easy to recall. oh dear keebo has perfect memories of all his friends corpses. that can’t be fun. oh and the fun of being THROWN AT THE REMAINS. Kirumi ‘helps’ with the easy logic of handcuffs didn’t get eaten. :v Now we’re working with the angle of body movement now that we know it came from Ryoma’s ultimate lab. So of course the murderer tries to make it sound impossible, since we’re getting a bit too close to the truth! Keebo’s frustrated at this point, he’s eye rolling again with no leads to how it was actually done. He hasn’t considered the new approaches that could be possible now that they know where everything started. Kokichi ‘agreeing’ with him should be a tip off though :v shuichi goes and drives a brain taxi and raises the rope possibility.
Kirumi: Is the rope long enough to reach both windows?
Korekiyo: The rope is roughly 65 feet in length. As for the distance between the windows...
K1-B0: According to the sign at the pool, the width of the pool is roughly 35 feet...and the distance from the edges of the pool to the windows is an additional 16 feet. Altogether, the sum total length from one window to the other is roughly 50 feet.
Gonta: And pool is only thing between research lab and gym windows...
Miu: You bet it’s long enough! Heh! That’s what she said!
Chatty when he can do something easy like math! Numbers make sense and don’t confuse him with believing and who is working against them. Miu does basically sum up what Keebo took a paragraph to say tho. Since he needs to show his work. he likes having proof, and assumes everyone else likes knowing how he got the answer too.
oh and reminder gonta is still plenty smart, he points out how to do the rope trick here. Then we talk about the zipline-i mean ropeway.

Just confirming someone asked was enough, which that freakout accomplished. Kirumi tries to sidetrack again with the ‘multiple trips’ thing...

Yes, this gets the biggest reaction out of him. That’s normal and easy to understand over ‘how do we feel about this.’ While Tsumugi mocks his attempts to learn because she’s terrible :v and Kokichi is almost another backhanded complement? ‘Pretend to be human’, so you do buy his ‘pretending’ and how he seems very human? even though you keep calling him heartless and emotionless...and getting him thrown at things...

This shakes him. Lying over something so important is almost unbelievable. After all, he couldn’t see why someone would lie on someone else’s behalf with their life on the line in trial one. Not really a shock he doesn't consider the opposite being possible too. Keebo doesn’t really...lie. Basically ever. The closest he ever gets is a flustered non answer that is technically a lie in a back route.
He still cheers her on when she makes a break for it though.

He’d still rather blame the obvious antagonist over the people he calls friends. Clashing with Angie here doesn’t stop him from getting roped in later...hhm.
Shuichi: That must be why Kirumi did not want to show the videos. She thought that if everyone felt the same murderous rage that she did...this killing game would be pure chaos. She...wanted to stop it.
Kokichi: If that's the case, then we really shouldn't show our videos to each other!
K1-B0: That was our consensus from the beginning. Not including you, of course.
Shuichi gives a pretty kind interpretation of her actions, and Kokichi earns some robot sass for his actions. Kokichi likely had his own video and was not driven to any such murder...figured out his own plan might actually be bad too little too late.
K1-B0: For now...we should rest. To me, that seems the most rational course of action.

Kokichi: Maki admitted it during the class trial, remember? Ryoma wanted her to show him his motive video cuz he was looking for a reason to live. But that wasn’t the whole story... Ryoma was blackmailing you, wasn’t he, Maki?
K1-B0: B-Blackmail?
Ryoma just so happened to discover Maki's true identity. So he used that to blackmail her. I bet he said something like... “If you don’t show me my motive video, I’ll tell everyone what you really are.” That's why Maki didn't want us to know she met with Ryoma. She wanted to keep her true identity a secret! That’s why she kept quiet until the last minute!
That’s the last thing he does, enables Kokichi by asking for clarification :v Hope you liked to see Keebo do things, as the ‘trio’ forms up he has fewer chances to show up. He’s still got a few in 3, but in 4 and 5 he’s fairly sidelined. Well he TALKS a lot, but mostly just his normal questions :v

I'll answer these under a read more cuz FUCK. I'll also try to keep it spoiler free -- I may mention stuff that hasn't come up in game but it would be stuff that might not ever come up explicitly anyway. Everything else has either been said or can be gleaned.
If your character wasn’t an adventurer, what livelihood would they lead
Probably what she had been doing -- being a pirate
Who in the party would your character trust the most with their life
Probably Maddie and/or Gael. Maddie is a divine soul sorcerer and probably the one Deah is closest to. Gael is our barbarian/paladin who is probably the emotional backbone of the group? He is very earnest and genuine, and also hits like a brick house.
What are your character’s core moral beliefs?
[Brushes off notes I made like a year ago] Promises must be kept, and debts one day fulfilled. Clean up the messes you made. Family is more important than self. Survival means not letting the past define you. (Not all morals but those are her ideals)
What relationship does your character have with their parents and siblings?
She has a twin brother, whom she would die for. Their relationship used to be solid, but theyve currently broken apart somewhat due to lies and building tension, and the brother needing to go his own way. She is still very broken up about it. Her parents are both dead, and she has not spoken of much closeness there, but describes them as "they tried their best." Her pirate captain was basically a surrogate father for her teenage years and onward until their separation, and she... misses him.
Does your character have any biases for or against certain races?
Not really. She probably doesnt trust ratfolk based on where she grew up, but beyond that? If you're good, you're good.

Describe your character’s current appearance: clothes, armor, scars they’ve picked up along the journey, etc.
She's grown out her undercut so she has an asymmetrical style, one side of her head buzzed. She is still wearing her bright red pirate coat, but now wears a dark brown vest with purple accents underneath, as well as a long black sleeve to cover magical scars she received when she accepted a warlock pact with the hunter god. Also covering her scars is a gauntlet made by Maddie, so that they can't be detected by Detect Good and Evil and such.
What location encountered in the campaign has your character felt the most “at home” in, or just generally liked the most?
Sometimes she still thinks about that nap she had on the beach at a random island they had stopped at to restock on food.
What deity, if any, does your character worship? What’s their opinion on other people’s worship?
As i mentioned, she has a pact with the hunter god, Erastil. She does not worship him. In fact, she rather doesnt like gods much. She doesnt really understand other worshippers, but if they're not hurting anyone with it she doesn't really care. Their worship doesnt affect her.

We are entirely online so we don't really have table seating. Based on the order of our nicknames in discord though, that would be... Haru, our new kitsune Oracle who joined us to fill a gap while some other players went on hiatus. Deah is uncertain about him, and she is generally pretty wary about strangers in her party, but he is useful. Their relationship is not deep by any means tbh.
What is your character’s current goal, summed up in one sentence?
Stop the lord of the sea, and stop Aleksander.

Before the campaign, certainly not. She's hella ace, and doesn't open up easily, so she's got some confusing feelings right now for Maddie ;)

The battle against Tokt, since this was the battle that she was able to help save a person from being possessed by a demon -- something she figured out beforehand and convinced her team about.

I mean... probably a fighter???? Or maybe a full warlock, if she was desperate enough.
What is your character’s favorite season?
Probably the fall? Sailing is usually good during that time, plus the harvest is coming in on land, so there's a lot of fresh food.
What would your character’s Zodiac sign be, following stereotypical astrology?
She would be an Aries based on her birthday! Our homebrew world just uses "Season Day" as time markers, with 90 days each season. She was born on Spring 12, which would translate to the first week of April.
Where in the world does your character most want to visit?
She's been all over as an adventurer and a sailor. The place she'd like to visit the most is one she doesn't know about -- somewhere important to her old captain.
What is the biggest mistake your character has ever made?
Deah would maybe even say joining the pirates. It was the happiest she'd ever been, but it led her brother to a path he regrets and feels pain over, and she feels a... bit guilty about that.
Does your character have any noticeable scars? If so, what are their stories?
The only scars she has are from her pact to Erastil. She hides them, though. She's not ashamed of them, but she likes to keep them to herself... she's private like that.
What animal best represents your character?
I always liken her to a hawk, especially a sea hawk. In some ways she’s like a cobra or a porcupine too -- kind of hard to get close to!
If your character could go back in time and change one thing about their life, what would it be?

Which other player character does your character find themselves having the most in common with?
I don't know about most in common, really, but she gets along easiest with Ro, our halfling. Their banter is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. Honestly though? She probably has the most in common with Mercy, our tiefling fighter/paladin.
Does your character regret any particular choice the party has made?
She probably regrets the party not staying behind in a certain town after a powerful enemy escaped. They thought the immediate threat had been dealt with and that another team from their guild could keep watch over the town, but then that team got surprised by an undead and two of them died. She feels at least partially responsible for that.
What would your character say their best trait would be?
Her ability to perceive and track things. She has the observant feat plus the invocation that lets her see through even magical darkness!
What is your character’s greatest fear? Deep, irrational?
Being abandoned.
What is currently motivating your character to stay with the party?
No where else to go, really. Like, sure, she likes at least most of them and they've been through a lot!!! And she DOES you know, feel like this is a stable job, and she does feel good helping people. But... she really does have no where else to go. :(

She does enjoy reading, though she's a little slow. Her favorite books are detective/mystery novels! She also sometimes likes to practice magic tricks (like... sleight of hand stuff). And technically this isnt outside of her class, but she really does enjoy training. Let's her burn off steam.

Pretty little waif, but that resting bitch face looks like she will cut me of I even say hello (this is by design).

[Googles five man band] probably Lancer. Initially she wanted to be the Leader type but with the group dynamics and her own insecurities and issues, that isnt really truly possible for her. But she still tries to lead...

She admires maddie's strength and kindness (and to a degree, innocence). Maddie's cooking skills. Maddie's family. She dislikes how nervous/anxious and possibly depressed Maddie can get :c
Why is your character’s lowest stat their lowest (the in-character reason, not “because there’s no reason for a wizard to have 16 strength, duh”)?
Her lowest stat is strength, and her second lowest is constitution. This is because she grew up poor, and was at times starving and definitely malnourished. Once she was om the pirate ship, she was regularly fed though.
What would be your character’s theme song/favorite band/favorite genre of music?
I've been saying if she was in modern time, her favorite band would be Florence and the Machine. There's just something about the Florence sound that speaks to her. She'd definitely be into that kind of music, plus some heavier stuff leaning more towards metal or symphonic metal...
What stereotypical role would your character play in a high school AU/if they attended a normal high school? (Nerd, jock, bully, goth, etc.)
She's got the soul of a goth but the hobbies of a jock (in our team's college AU she's totally on the fencing and sailing teams). When I've drawn her in modern day she is usually wearing athleisure (capris leggings, loose tank top, sports bra, e.g.) but also it's mostly dark colors. She's Joth.
What treasure/item/artifact that your character has collected during the adventure is the most important to them?
Toby :) just kidding, the pseudodragon isn't an item!!! Specifically collected during the adventure, probably her force blade. Her brother had found it, but had given it to her, near the beginning of the adventure.
Is there any particular weapon, item, etc. that your character longs to find?
She's not really looking out for items, no.
Where does your character feel the most at home?
On the beach, on the ship. Specific locations to call home, she does finally feel like she has a stable place to call home in the patty's estate.

She's worn disguises and fake names before, but that's mostly to protect herself during her pirate years. She doesn't care a whole lot, but she does want to appear somewhat intimidating so that unsavoury people won't approach her LMAO. But she also wants to be seen as nice by children and poor folk, so she does soften a bit when they're around.
What does your character think is the true meaning of life?
Happiness. Safety. Survival. Family/community.

She's always got a slight scent of salt on her, reminding you just a bit of the sea. For herself, she prefers to just smell... clean, so there's a fresher floral scent lingering...

Maddie always. Then Ro. Then Gael. Haru would probably be up there because he is squishy and also mostly blind.

A mix of pathos and logos is most effective on Deah. Logos probably most of all, but there are pathos buttons that hold away above all that... if you know which buttons to press.

Currently? To bring back her pirate captain. She knows its selfish but...

Her favorite spell is stab with rapier.
How does your character feel about keeping secrets from the rest of the party?
She keeps secrets pretty regularly! Basically if the party needs to know, then the secret should be shared. But if it doesnt really affect the group or something important, and the person doesnt want to share, then go ahead and keep the secret.
What type of creature in the world is your character the most intrigued by?
Dragons probably, at this point. Definitely an influence by me the player, haha, but it's buoyed by an early meeting with a particular dragon that sparked her interest.
When they were a child, what did your character want to be, or think they were going to be, when they grew up?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ she didnt have life plans as a kid. She just wanted her and her brother to live.

That's already happened LMAO. Deah didnt know how to react so her brain blur screened and she ran away from the situation for a bit.

If it only involved herself, Deah would probably go do it. But if it was a huge net loss for the group, she wouldn't, if that makes sense? It's hard to make sweeping statements like that.

She values her own interest for sure, but she would prioritize the party's if one meant dunking on the other. She knows what it's like to sail with a tight knit crew; sometimes you sacrifice to make the group as a whole better/happier.

Oh gosh, uh.... I mean, if they decide to help her enemies (not likely to happen, there are a couple shared ones). If they don't let her do something she REALLY wants... I can't really think of anything specific.

Hmm... not to a certain degree. Eh, probably not. She only really wants to risk herself, not others. Risking others doesn't give them the choice.

She does it all the time!! But if they're defenseless or not fighting back, she won't.

She really loves fresh baked bread!! As for beverage, uh.... I guess she'd like water with like, something fruity mixed in???

To the poor and to kids? Very. Also, recently, she gave all of the money she got from a quest to a townsperson to help them rebuild their city a bit (secretly of course. Not even her team knows she did that, though maybe some of them suspect hahaha)

Once again... probably most envious of Maddie!! She comes up a lot doesn't she ;P

I've described Deah as Panromantic Asexual. She is rather sex averse and has difficulty pinpointing romantic feelings as well, being rather prickly at times.

When people try to dig into something she doesn't want to share at the moment.

The current objective/situation involves her backstory, so you'll see soon ;)

Maddie of course! She trusts Gael, but not with secrets. Similarly, she trusts Mercy to hold an oath to the best of her ability, but not if a secret comes up -- same with Rudi. Ro does what she wants LMAO and she isnt telling Haru anything personal atm.

She's already multi classed and her reasons for becoming a warlock are kind of muddied. She explained them initially but maaaaybe wasn't 100% truthful. If she had to pick a third, probably uh.... fighter?????

I would HOPE she would be friends with Elizabeth Swan (: but idk lol

Sharp senses and magic tricks.

It's rather situational. She tries to be a leader type, but she also realizes she's not at the top of the leader chain (and, with her party, at times different people take the head, so it's almost more consult-y like).
What does your character’s name represent to them? (Or: why as a player did you choose your character’s name?)
The player of Cal, her brother, chose his name first from a generator. I like to construct my names sometimes from different name elements, so I made hers to match the sound of her twin's (that is, make it sound like it came from the same language). Her name is constructed of "Feld-" (field) and "-Deah" (dye) so her first name translates roughly to "field of dye." Her original last name is Shearwater, which is a real life sea bird but also follows the traditional elven naming convention (their dad was an elf). She never felt much of an attachment to her last name. She recently changed her last name to Blackheart, which was the moniker of her captain.

She would go as far as she needs to, but would never force others to make that same decision.

For a long time she was the Sokka of the group, the only non-magic user. Then she got her pact. She's still kind of awkward about it, and at times really doesn't like magic, but she sees it as a tool. A means to an end.

Rival?????? I guess Morrigan tbh??? Cuz a rival isn't an enemy, and she had a thing going with Morrigan (her player is on hiatus tho). In some ways she rivals Mercy too. A dance of similarities and differences.

Fine, beautiful dresses. She doesn't own any, because it's a waste of money, but.... she wants them. Secretly.

BIGGEST flaw???? Uhhhmmm..... Her secrecy probably. Her tendency to run away from really big, painful problems, to bottle up her emotions around that until everything just gets worse.
How did your character learn the languages that they speak?
Common, prucrician and Elvish she learned just growing up. Deep, she just... mysteriously knows. Doesn't know why she can speak it. Draconic she learned at first from Rudi, and then from a dragonborn NPC to finish her lessons during a timeskip.
What is your character’s favorite school of magic/type of weaponry?
Rapier
What is most important to your character: health, wealth, or happiness?
Why must she choose? Wealth, because that brings health and happiness in her eyes. (Because money buys food and when you have food.....)
What advice would your character give to a younger version of themselves?
I know it's hard, but open up more. You don't have to keep it to yourself to protect others. Your brother can be your friend as well... you don't have to just keep holding yourself back for your friends and family.
Are there any social or political issues your character feels strongly about?
She doesn't feel super strongly about politics, having been a pirate. She feels strongly about protecting children and poor though, as I've mentioned.

Jay plays DND Part...4?
(Losing track of how many of these were done. Also, this one’s hella long)
So, recent session was Art at his finest.
We are now up to a part with two generals. One of them is Art’s sister, Rieta (Known as General Pink). Her mind is completely broken to the point of making her basically a beast-like berserker. The second general is Orange, who Art has taken to calling “General Fedora.” He is the definition of a neckbeard mixed with r/iamverysmart.
But his ability is to take the will away from opponents and control them like puppets. And, when Art tried to get Rieta away from him, Orange showed off said abilities. By taking control of Art, Theodora(Paladin and Team leader) and Hennessy(Wizard.) We had to attack Koejin(Ranger) and our new barbarian gnome, Wreybar, then roll to see if we could break the spell. This is how it went down:
Me: So, I’m gonna cast Vicious Mockery.
DM, knowing me too well: You remember the rule for that, right?
Me(Agreed that I have to insult for real to use it:) Yeah, I know...
DM: Go ahead then.
Me: I look at Koejin and say, “Hey, Drunkie. You gonna attack or just stand there looking stupid?”
Koejin’s player: Woooooow...... Not gonna lie, that stings a little.
DM: Watch Art snap out of the spell and go “Hey Drunkie, fuck you.... I’m sorry....”
(He didn’t snap out of it. Hennessy did after Koejin cast Fog cloud so we couldn’t see.)
Hennessy: Okay, I’m going to cast Charm person on Theodora and Art.
Theodora’s roll: *Passes*
My Roll: *Fails*
DM: Okay, so Theodora just brushes it off. Art now has two controlling spells fighting in his head. He wants to listen to Orange and fight you, but also really doesn’t want to hurt Hennessy because of the charm. So there’s a back and forth where he is extremely conflicted. Then Art feels a burn from Ticket Master’s ring on his finger and he passes out.
Me: So Ticket Master just kinda goes “Sleep.”
DM: Pretty much.
Art, in game: Alright, imma head out... *passes out face first in the dirt*
Theodora rolls and breaks free from the spell on the following turn. In this time, Koejin had followed a mysterious figure out of the fog to where Orange was trying to run off with Pink in tow. (Sidenote: Pink had been ordered to attack us and Meatball, a giant t-rex who we befriended, had stepped in the way. Meatball has the sigil of the BBEG on his leg.)
When he sees we’ve broken the spell, he tries to sic Pink on them again but she runs off into the woods. Art woke up shortly after, demanded to know where his sister was then tried to take off after her. (He was stopped by the mystery person.)
Me: Alright so, being that Art can’t follow Rieta, he turns and storms up to Orange.
DM, knowing Art is weak as shit physically: Does he attack him?
Me: Of course not. He grabs him and goes “Listen here, you little shit. You’re going to give us the fucking stone or we’re gonna beat it out of you.”
DM: Roll for intimidation.
Art: *Hella intimidating with a 17*
DM: Alright, so Orange is shaking as Art grabs him by the shirt and kinda shakes him a little. He puts his hands up and goes “I couldn’t if I wanted to! The stone’s in my head!”
Art: We could fix that.
Everyone readying their weapons behind Art.
Koejin: Nothing a little surgery can’t handle.
As we’re all discussing how to best take care of this, there’s a buzz in Theodora’s pocket. It’s the future leader of Acentria saying “Remember: don’t kill anyone!”
Theodora: Ah, shit... Guys... we can’t do this.
Everyone else: *sputtering different words of disappointment because we’re all children of chaotic stupid*
Hennessy then charmed Orange into telling us how the stone got in in the first place. Orange says he doesn’t know, just one day he was asked if he wanted to be a general. I said “okay” then I woke up with a stone in my head.
Art: Maybe... if we take him to Thia (The future leader) we can use her stone to pull out this one... like a magnet.
Orange: You can do whatever you want, just keep that thing away from me. *points at Wreybar.* Gnomes freak me out. That’s why I had Pink destroy the village.
Wreybar: You’re the face I saw in the flames! I thought I recognized you! You’re dead! *goes to attack but is stopped by our new mystery ally* Let me at ‘im!
Orange: No... Pink wanted to do it. Cuz gnomes are so gross...
Art: First of all, racist. Secondly, whaaaaaaaaaat???
Orange: she’s a bloodthirty monster. She wanted to kill them.
Art: Uhhhh, no. Not true. Nope. (Super denial about his sister being a murderhobo)
So, then we start discussing how to get everyone and a t-rex back to the bar where Thia is currently stationed.
Theodora: If Green were here, we could teleport...
Art:...... well, we do know.... someone else.... who can teleport...
Everyone turned to Art. It took them all a moment to realize who he was talking about before out came a collective groan.
Koejin: Didn’t we all agree we wouldn’t trust him?
Art, still hella thirsty for the D: No.
Koejin: No. We’re not asking Ticket Master.
DM: Once Koejin says the name, Ticket Master appears with a boom box on his shoulder and says “did someone say my name?”
Koejin and Theodora both start talking about this “Website that rips people off” to which Art just kinda looks at them in confusion and goes “what’s a website?” I imagine someone pushed him back so he wasn’t really heard.
We continued to discuss different ways to get everyone back to Thia. The train is mentioned once but we can’t get meatball onto the train. Ticket Master speaks up again only to get Koejin’s hand in his face as we talk. The idea them comes from out Mystery friend.
General Green can be used to teleport, but he’s a lich who feeds off knowledge. If someone was willing to give up their intelligence temporarily, he could get us back and forth then return to “death” shortly after.
Art:...I’ll do it.
Everyone else: *Ignoring him to talk about how no one wants to do it*
DM, the only one who heard him: Didn’t Art just say he would?
Art: Yeah. I mean, why not? He’ll have all my knowledge right?
DM: Yep.
Art: And he’s a genius. Which means he could connect dots I haven’t been able to. So, hook me up.
DM: Mystery woman pulls out one of Green’s threads and snaps it into the back of Art’s head. You are down to -2 on intelligence and Art is a bumbling idiot.
Art: *just kinda staring off into space*...*Sees Green when he appears* you look tired.
Green, who just wants to die: Yeah.
Art:...you should take a nap.
Green: What’s going on? Why’s Art a- *notices the thread* oh.
Everyone catches Green up on the situation and Art tries to help in the most unhelpful way possible. Green then opens a portal for everyone which is much clearer than it was the last time we used a portal.
Hennessy: ...wow, Art, you are really smart....
Art:...there was a dog... dogwoof.
(This part was hard because I wanted to actually help but the DM kept having to remind me Art was pretty much useless so I had to struggle with words and just be stupid.)
Right before we were all supposed to leave (because BBEG was on her way) Hennessy took the opportunity to whisk his NPC boyfriend into the shop in order to propose, which also ended in Hennessy getting laid. Koejin was pissed they were wasting time.
DM: Everyone outside can hear Vincent’s moaning.
Art: Why is he hurting that poor man?!
Koejin, still pissed off: Yeah, Art. This isn’t right that he’s doing this. We should leave him!
Art: Yeah, he seems mean :(! *makes no attempt to go near the portal*
Koejin’s player: Jay has been waiting for this opportunity to make Art a fucking idiot.
Me: Damn right!
So everyone walks through the portal and appears right in front of the bar. Once we all walk through the portal, Green flicks Art in the forehead and disconnects, which kills him instantly. Art then has a headache and now has a disadvantage on intelligence rolls for the foreseeable future.
Thia’s already outside of the bar, talking to people about her plans to change the world. We approach her with Orange and tell her the situation.
Thia, happy to see a living general: You’re actually not killing people!
Theodora: We’ve been trying not to!
Hennessy: Yeah, we have saved more than we killed!
Art: *counting the bodies and deciding it’s probably best to keep his mouth shut*
Thia puts the stone to Orange’s head and, for a moment, nothing happens. Then, it bursts out of his skull, splattering brain matter all over and gets absorbed into Thia’s stone.
Thia, shocked: .....I just killed that guy....
Art: No, No you didn’t. It was the stone, you had no control-
Orange, clearly not all there:... what’re you guys talking about....? I...I feel fine...
Art: He’s still alive!
Thia: Can you really call that living?!
Art: uhhhh, sure!
Thia:... we should get him healed. Everyone, come in. We can talk about everything inside.
So, we all head to the bar where Meatball is being put up right on the side. Koejin, who had a drink that gave her truesight, saw that Meatball is actually a dragonborn named Eltbalm; the lover of BBEG (Mrs. Red) Koejin has the hots for Eltbalm so she decides to hang out with him.(He’s still unconscious)
Art: But...it’s a bar.... also, sorry about that “Drunkie” comment before. I didn’t mean it.
Koejin: Yeah you did.
Art:... No, but-
Theodora, throwing her arm around Art’s shoulder: Art, Art, Art, Art.... Shut the fuck up.
Art and the others go into the bar, leaving Koejin. In a previous session, we saved a bunch of kids from Green’s spire and now they spend most of their time at the bar, where Meatball was watching them. When they see him, they all run up to hug him and cry around him.
DM: Koejin, you notice one child is missing.
Me:.... is it the tiefling boy?
DM: It is the tiefling boy.
Koejin, to one of the kids: Hey, where’s your little tiefling friend?
The kid: His mom came to pick him up.
Koejin:... uh... guys?!?!
A message is sent between Koejin and Alabaster to relay the information. Art, hearing that “mom” picked up this supposed orphan child, immediately flips out on the bartender that let him leave with her and demands to know how long ago she came. He bolts for the door.
DM: When Art goes to run out the door, he runs into someone’s chest. It’s Ticket Master.
Art: Shit... Hi.
Ticket Master: Oh, hello! You guys kinda left without me!
Art: Right, yeah. Did you see a tiefling go through here?
Ticket Master: You mean your sister? Yes! I brought her here since you missed her.
Art: *trying so hard to process the feelings going through him* Did you see... where she went?
Ticket Master: Yes, she went that way. *arrows appear to point in every direction*
Art: Wow, you’re useless!... (Hennessy: Is this what marriage is gonna be like?!) Is there anyway for you to tell me where she went.
Ticket Master: Sure! But I need something...
Art: Okay?
Ticket Master: From her. *points at Koejin*
Art, suddenly very tense: ...Why her?
Ticket Master: Because I’ve already gotten everything I’ve wanted out of you.
Art:....fucker....
Ticket Master, ignoring Art: So, Koejin...?
Koejin:.... I want you.... to leave.
Ticket Master:...*shrugs* Okay. *Just walks away*
Art, in his head: yeah, that’s not gonna come back to bite us.
Koejin is then reminded of the fact that she has tracking skills and a bloodhawk(named Pirate) for situations just like this. She seems slightly... put off by the idea.
Koejin: I’m not risking Pirate safety.
Art: Pirate can fly. Rieta can’t. He’ll be fine.
Koejin: Right... Pirate, look for General Pink and the kid. But keep your distance.
DM: Pirate flies onto Art’s shoulder, rips out a piece of his hair and eats it. Then, he flies off and searches the area until he lands on the roof of a small house in the woods. He perches there and caws loudly.
We all ran into the woods to the house to find it was boarded up. None of the panels were missing so it wasn’t a break in. We all think of the best way to do this.
Koejin: Someone could go in there.
Art: I could sneak in. My stealth is pretty high.
Koejin: Yeah... should let the stealthy tiefling go in... I’m gonna come too. I’m pretty stealthy.
(Koejin and Art are now Stealth Buddies.)
DM: So, you sneak in and it’s dark. Koejin, you can see shadows and movement. Art, you see Pink standing over a body. She has something dripping from her mouth.
Art, stunned, uses sending so they don’t make a noise: So, don’t freak out.... but I think Rieta killed a kid....
Koejin, message back:.... cooooool.... so, what do we do?
Art: *just staring at the situation*
DM: Neither of you smell blood so there’s that.
Koejin’s player: I wouldn’t even know what blood smells like right off the bat.
Me and the DM, in unison: Koejin would.
Koejin’s player: Right. *laughs* Art’s hand.
Koejin moved for a chair to get closer and hide behind. Art, being the beautiful suicidal dumbass he is, goes the opposite direction to get to the other side of Pink.
DM: Koejin, you slip over to the chair without making a sound. Art, when you take a step, your foot lands on a board that creaks and gives you away. Pink snaps around to look at you. She is frothing; the kid is still alive and fine. She hasn’t done anything yet.
Art:... Hi, Rieta...
DM: When he sees Art, the kid calls out “Help me!” Pink grabs hold of the boy by the hair and lifts him off the floor.
Art: Nonononononononono.... Don’t do this. You don’t have to do this.
Koejin: *readies her bow from her position behind the chair, aimed for Pink’s wrist*
DM: All of you feel a sudden heat. Moments later, the door blows off it’s hinges and it’s Mrs. Red. She is pissed. She glares at Pink and yells “You killed my love.” Koejin, because of the truesight potion, you see Red’s face is that of a red dragon. Mrs. Red is a red dragon.
Koejin’s player: Oh shit!
DM: And we’ll end there for this week.
(This game is getting insane. Also, if you got all the way through this, thank you! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. There’s a lot of stuff left out from this just because it was already getting super long.)

This is the true start to this playlist, even though it’s not on Spotify. I had to start off with something from my Good Good McElboys. I imagine Bardrynn’s hometown of Quarrycrest as something of a fantasy Appalachia, all beautiful smoky mountains and close-knit families and communities living and working together. Everyone knew everyone and everyone helped everyone. What better way to set that scene than the Amnesty theme?

Wow, is that Bardrynn’s Saving People Thing I see?? Holy cow, that’s Bardrynn’s Saving People Thing I see!! I told you you could always count on me darlin’. From that day on, I made a vow - I’ll be there when you want me some way somehow. Bardrynn will do absolutely anything for her friends - from taking the blame for ruining the publicity campaign in Dragon’s Brawl and getting herself fired so that Mori could keep her job to throwing herself into harm’s way to protect her party members. She’ll move heaven and earth to help her friends, drop anything to go to their side, hell she’ll take a killing blow if it means her friend will live.

Leaving home to go fight for Dragon’s Brawl was hard. It was really fucking hard. For all her life, Bardrynn had lived in Quarrycrest. Her family lived in Quarrycrest. Her ancestors were buried in Quarrycrest up in the family plot at the top of the Oakburn holler. (If she has anything to say about it, she’ll be buried there too, when her time comes) No cash in the bank, no paid holidays, all we have - all we have is gas in the tank, maps for the getaway. She had a dream and a plan and a metric ton of uncertainty, but she did it anyway and she was so proud of herself when she was able to write home to tell her family that she had done it. She was a professional fighter.

When I left my home and my family, I was no more than a boy. In the company of strangers, in the quiet of the railway stations, running scared. The mood of this song, the story of a fighter doing what they love in the ring and then struggling with loneliness outside of it is just - it’s so perfect. It took Bardrynn awhile to regain her footing with her new job away from home. Even with Mori there, it wasn’t the same as being able to just walk down the holler a bit to say hello to her brother or strolling into town and saying hello to everyone she passed on the way. Plus, Mumford’s sound is so Appalachia to me, it suits Bardrynn really fucking well, all strings, bluegrass rhythms, and tight harmonies.
In the clearing stands a boxer and a fighter by his trade, and he carries the reminder of every glove that laid him down and cut him til he cried out in his anger and his shame “I am leaving, I am leaving,” but the fighter still remains.

Once she got her footing though, once Bardrynn got comfortable, she was fucking ecstatic with her life. She practically got high off of the crowds and their reactions to her, their applause and their cheers. Nothing could bring her down when a stadium of fans were cheering her name. I live for the applause

OOF. Bardrynn’s bad at feelings. She didn’t plan on catching feelings for Mori. She really didn’t. She didn’t even realize it was happening at first, she’s terrible at reading feelings from anyone, including herself. She was her best friend! She couldn’t feel like this about her, she was just a really close friend! Jenny darlin’, you’re my best friend, but there’s a few things that you don’t know… Once she figured it out (it took her an embarrassingly long time, looking back), she tried to just shove it down, ignore it. Telling her would just ruin things. They had a good thing going, the two of them being best friends in and out of the ring. That was, until their bosses decided they needed to stage a rivalry between them.
Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons
Bardrynn carries a lot of guilt over fucking up that fake rivalry. It was just one slip-up, they’d been doing so well. But Mori had made a really funny joke and Bardrynn couldn’t help but laugh and someone had to go and catch her looking at her like that… and the next thing they knew, the two of them were being threatened with losing their jobs over the way they handled that “publicity strategy,” or whatever the fuck the boss had called it.
So Bardrynn took the blame.
She couldn’t let Mori get fired too. But it was not your fault but mine. And it was your heart on the line. I really fucked it up this time, didn’t I my dear? It was her fault, not Mori’s. Only one of them should lose their job over this and if someone had to take the fall for it, it was going to be Bardrynn. Mori tried to argue when Bardrynn told their boss that it was her fault, but she wouldn’t hear any of it. Bardrynn couldn’t fix the damage she’d done to Mori’s image as a fighter, she couldn’t fix any dips in popularity her fights might suffer, but she could make sure she kept her job.
And now, she’s terrified of letting her friends down. She doesn’t want to fail them like she did Mori. She can’t let that happen. Let’s be real, Bardrynn would die for her friends or her family without a second thought.

After her fallout with Dragon’s Brawl, there were a lot of people who started bad-mouthing Bardrynn. People who accused her of ruining the Dragon’s Brawl story because she couldn’t just play along, people who were disappointed in her for failing at this, people who were angry with her for messing up this or that. Been underestimated my entire life. I know people gonna talk shit, and darlin’ that’s fine. But they won’t break my spirit, I won’t let ‘em win. I’ll just keep on livin, keep on livin’ the way I wanna live. It was hard, really fucking hard to brush it off, but Bardrynn did her best to not let it bother her. She’s gotten better at it. She’s gotten a lot better at it. It’s still hard sometimes, and she still feels guilty sometimes when she braids that bright blue ribbon from a fan into her hair, but she’s getting better at tieing those reminders to the good memories rather than the bad ones.
Heaven When We’re Home by The Wailin’ Jennys
Been a fool, I’ve been cruel to myself. Been hangin’ on to nothin’ when nothin’ could be worse than hangin on. And somethin’ tells me, there must be something better than all this … And it’s a long and rugged road, and we don’t know where it’s headed. But we know it’s gonna get us where we’re goin’. And when we find what we’re lookin’ for, we’ll drop these bags and search no more, cuz it’s gonna feel like heaven when we’re home. I’m tempted to just leave it with those lyrics, but tbh, they’re very true to her attitude going forward from Dragon’s Brawl. She wandered, she didn’t know where she was headed, but she trusted that she’d figure it out eventually. So far it’s worked out alright. Plus, the Wailin’ Jennys’ sound is just So Perfectly Bardrynn. I also love the harmonies in the chorus, kinda shows, at least to me, how important having people around her is to Bardrynn. And maybe I’ll walk awhile and feel the earth beneath me. They say if you start lookin’, it doesn’t matter if you find it. And who’s to say that even if I did, it’s what I’m really looking for?

Keep the earth below my feet. From my sweat, my blood runs weak. Let me learn from where I have been. Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn. As she started traveling the world and exploring, Bardrynn started to see things in terms of what she could do - what she could do for other people besides just the ones she holds nearest and dearest. She started helping people. She started looking for people to help, jobs to take, towns to protect. Anything she could do to make herself useful, to find some kind of purpose beyond just wandering aimlessly, unemployed and technically homeless. She found that helping people was really fulfilling. She liked it. She was good at it. And it made other people happy, it made other people safe.
We’re Going to Be Friends by The White Stripes
Bardrynn makes friends super goddamn fast. She’s a friendly and outgoing woman, and while she may not be good at telling if someone is lying, she believes that she has a good sense of when someone is going to be a friend. To be fair, she tends to go by the philosophy of friend until proven not friend, but still. She could tell within ten minutes of meeting the party that this was going to be a good thing. They were going to be friends and it was going to be so much goddamn fun. And when I wake, tomorrow I’ll bet that you and I will walk together again. I can tell that we are gonna be friends.
I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend by girl in red
Now, Bardrynn has a wisdom of 9. She’s terrible at recognizing other people’s feelings and even worse at diagnosing her own feelings. This has happened to her before, with Mori. She got confused, she was certain that the feelings she had towards Mori were just that of a best friend.
She would’ve been this freaked out if anyone in the party died, right? Sure, she’s been worried about Liana and keeping an eye on her in battle since she died and came back to life, and she might feel a little more protective of her lately, but it’d be the same for anyone else in the party if they died, right?
Right?

I feel like this rounds her out nicely. Bardrynn is trying to get better. She’s trying to improve herself, to grow, to become the friend her friends need her to be. She’s trying to become the woman she wants to be, more than just a brokenhearted has-been fighter - a woman who doesn’t let down her loved ones, a woman who protects those she cares about, a woman who defends those who can’t defend themselves, a woman who can do some good in the world. Take me to a place where I feel no shame, take me where courage doesn’t need a name. Learning how to cry is the hardest part, and there’s only one way to mend a broken heart.
Dang, this is a long post.

Who are your fav and least fav hxh char?
This is actually really really hard cuz I don’t see any of the characters as Bad in the sense of being poorly written and that’s usually what I base my favorites off of. I’ll probably be giving more explanation through the lists.Favorites:5) Alluka Zoldyck - The reason she’s number 5 is because while I adore her and love her personality, I do agree with some sentiments that she was a shoe-horned character in the Election Arc. She’s obviously important to Killua and his character development, but since we haven’t seen much out of her not only in that arc but anywhere in the series, it’s hard to judge her and truly fall in love with her character.4) Kite - Another one that’s more or less iffy for me. I do enjoy his/their character a lot and how important he was to Gon and his development, but I’m of the mindset that if you want to kill off a character, one that’s very important and that you know will further(or destroy) another character’s development, they should stay dead. And you can argue that Queen Kite and Human Kite are different people altogether, but there’s still the fact that Kite somehow got reborn as an Ant even though, as far as we see, there’s no nibbles taken out of his corpse at all. I guess this could be written off as Togashi not explaining his Nen abilities too well or just yet, since apparently that mace he summoned is only ever used when he wants to win or at least get out of a fight alive. 3) Leorio Paradinight - I adore Leorio just like everyone else but my god I can’t help but feel like he’s more 2 dimensional than 3 dimensional. He’s an all around good guy, he does have his faults, but they’re so minor that they aren’t even brought up beyond the Hunter Exam Arc. He wants to give people a free alternative to medicine and getting medical help and that’s amazing. He goes to college, he studies a lot, great. I can understand the struggles of money, sure, but I’d like to see him actually struggle and show more 3 dimensional qualities other than ‘GOOD BOY’. And since we haven’t seen him at all very much this arc, I don’t think we’ll be really seeing him go through the struggles that we want him to go through. There was the election arc where he wanted to see Gon get healed up, we did see him cry when he saw he was okay. But I want to see him when he can’t save someone, where he feels utterly powerless about something, where even if he has his Nen and can detect tumours and what not, he still can’t do anything to help them. I want to see his morals be challenged, I want to see what he will do when faced with a severe choice, one that will leave someone dead or suffering or not in the right state of mind once it’s all said and done. I just want to see him actually face the struggles the other characters have faced so far and not just be this all around good guy.2) Kurapika - We’ve seen soooo much about Kurapika since the start of the series. We know about his past, we know about his morals(somewhat) and we know what lengths he would go to to reach his goals. This current arc does have me scared for Kurapika and what will happen to him. But this is also the second arc where we’re focusing more on him than the other characters which is totally fine, I get it. His whole character arc does need a resolution and a conclusion. And we’ve seen his character develop really well, where he used to prefer doing things on his own, pushing himself too far(and it can be argued that he’s STILL doing this with Emperor’s Time), even questioning himself during Yorknew(at least in the 1999 version). And now he’s more than happy to have help and partner up with a group or individuals in order to ensure the safety of everyone and figure out what the correct course of action is rather than just letting his rage cloud his better judgement. Of course, there’s still so much more to this Arc that we haven’t seen yet so for what could possibly happen, no one really knows. 1) KIllua Zoldyck - I can relate to Killua the most out of all of the cast and that’s why he’s number 1 on the favorites. Throughout the series, we see him grow and develop into a proper human being. He has his hiccups and he has his moments of thinking he can do things alone for his friends’ sake. But he tries his best and he does his best to be the person that Gon has taught him to be. He moved past his horrible upbringing, overcame a fear that he didn’t even know he had, he stood up to his abuser, he saved his little sister from said abuse and potential further abuse, he has made leaps and bounds to try to help Gon and save him from a certain death only for that special friendship to wind up broken to the point that it may not even be repaired. But he’s made so many more friends and a new family that he adores and can be himself around. No need to be afraid of his family, no need to be scared of his older brother coming to get him in the middle of the night, no being alone, no killing people just because his family said to. He is his own person with his own faults and, of course, his own ambitions now. For someone who’s been abused/currently in a bad situation, he’s an inspiration and very obviously goals.Least Favorites:5) Hisoka - Obvious reasons. He’s a well written, very creepy character that you can’t help but like BECAUSE he’s such a creepy, morally ambiguous character. I just wish, you know…He wasn’t the way he was.4) Illumi - Again, obvious. I do adore him, and I do adore writing him, but being abusive, manipulating his younger brother to the point that he actually is so afraid of him as well as just jamming a needle into his brain is just despicable. He’s just downright evil, though he doesn’t see anything wrong with what he’s doing. I guess you could call him Lawful Evil? Or at least True Evil. And you could argue that he was made that way by his parents, BUUUUT KIllua was raised almost the same way, so that doesn’t really apply to Illumi. I doubt we’ll see any development for him beyond wanting to control Killua and Alluka, though, which really sucks but HEY at least he’s really fun to write.3) Kastro - NOW PLEASE DO NOT BE ALARMED. I ADORE KASTRO WITH ALL MY HEART. What makes him a least favorite is the way Togashi wrote him. I hate characters dying for silly or no good reason. I still stand by the fact that the injuries he got would in no way cause him to die, but HEY. I AIN’T A MANGAKA WHAT DO I KNOW? I love Kastro and he deserved better. I wish we got a little bit of background on him, too. Like where he came from, why he was so interested in Martial Arts, What lead him to going to Heaven’s Arena, etc. I made my own little headcanons for him and where he came from, but those don’t even count. Togashi you let me down. Togashi you are my least favorite character(JK I love you and everything you do, please don’t stop writing and being an inspiration).2) Ging/Genthru - These two are together for different reasons, but I wanted to include them both on this list. Ging is a deadbeat dad who made his son feel like absolute shit because he abandoned him. Because of Ging, Gon has severe abandonment issues and we can see that throughout the series in the way he talks and refers to his dad becoming a hunter. I know what it’s like to have those horrible thoughts spin through my head BECAUSE I was made to think I was a burden and shouldn’t have been born by my own parent. It’s just horrible, especially when he doesn’t even show any concern for the boy during the Election Arc.Genthru is on this list more or less because his character as a whole sucks. Can you remember his motive for wanting to blow up the whole player base of Greed Island? I sure as fuck can’t. And if the reason is ‘Just because!’ well guess what, that’s the shittiest thing a character’s motive could be. If there was a a huge treasure at the end of it, or like just a chance to, I unno…maybe get a card made after you? Then I guess I could understand a motive? Greed is a very strong motive for a lot of Shounen Villains, so that’s not too far off. But otherwise, Genthru isn’t that great of a villain and honestly very forgettable.1) Chrollo Lucilfer - Again, I mostly dislike this character more for moral reasons. I do enjoy writing him and I do enjoy his character and what he brings to the dynamic of certain arcs. But as a person, he’s despicable, too. He’s a True Neutral character, only looking out for himself and getting whatever he wants. He only cares for his Troupe and that’s it. He doesn’t shed a tear for people he’s killed for petty reasons, yet he sheds a tear and becomes enraged when one of his own friends is killed either in battle or suddenly and horribly. He could care less about those around him, and purposefully riles others up just for entertainment(this is speculation). He’s the type of character you dread interacting with in a game/DnD because you know that he doesn’t care if you have to die nor does he care if you did die while going to fetch a treasure for him. YOU are the NPC, HE is the Player. Nothing more, nothing less.

anyone wanna read an out of context angst scene I wrote for a dnd character?
Angst below.
Bailey's rant
There was way too much to take in, it was overwhelming and her heart rate hadn't slowed down since the day they got here. Bailey barely had a moment to think straight and she dreaded what would happen if she did. Flashes of what happened passed through her memory like a train close to coming off the rails. So she drank. And drank. And drank. Didn't take long for people to know to avoid her in this state, except sister coffin who insisted on putting her in a room and being nice, even though Bailey knew she didn't deserve it. She barely slept afterwards and didn't want to speak to anyone.
She wasn't sure what happened some nights but snippets would appear when she sobered up. Nothing ever pleasant.
Daytime was the worst. She wanted to keep her wits but it was getting harder and harder to contain her rage and paranoia. A couple of blokes caught her in a particularly frustrated mood while contemplating on a bench thinking no one would come this way.
“You that lass moufin off bout ah Stella?”
Something sinister rose up in her chest as she looked over at them.
“Yeah I Recognise you. Came in with them outsiders. Personally would ave stabbed ya myself if ye said that t’me. “
Bailey clenched one hand but simply slipped it out of sight, leaning forward onto the other with her chin resting on it.
“are you finished?”
They looked at each other and moved on. Good. She didn't want to start a fight. Not here anyway where she'd have no one else in her corner. Her mind strayed to Ivan and what happened and she had to bite into her real hand to keep back the almost sob. Not here. Can't afford to break here.
She felt like a guitar string being pulled taught beyond its breaking point. And it seemed one or two passers by would sometimes pluck a bit too hard. No matter where she tried to go or hide.
Even that big dumb furry thing would glare at her as she walked by it. “what? You want something? Here fetch.” she flung the platinum band behind it and watched it land in a tree. The wolf just growled and she walked back from where she came.
Eventually after a few hours of heavy drink that afternoon, she got to just where the fog started and just followed it around. Her leg, or what was left of it was starting to get sore and her bandages began itching like crazy. She opened up her armour to check and there it was, looked like some of the stitches had been rubbed raw and bloodied. What was odd was she found she didn't much care. “You should take Care of yourself.” she heard a voice in her head and in her stupor figured it was her own.
“Shut up. I'll be fine.”
She kept going and eventually flopped sideways and landed awkwardly on one knee.
“you're not-”
“What! I'm not what?!” she yelled back at no one. “Not well? No shit! Not a good leader? Fucking duh! Not anything!”
She stood up glaring ahead and kept walking forward in a fury that was tangibly burning.
“what got nothing to say now?” she snipped wanting to take her anger out on something. Even if it was a voice in her head.
“why are you upset?”
Bailey started to giggle in a very unnerving way and practically screamed at the voice. “UPSET? UPSET! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING YOU KNOW NOTHING!” She felt the flinch even from here.
After a moment she spun around, causing her prosthetic leg to creak at the speed of it and began marching back the other way, not quite sure she was seeing someone standing in front of her. Her goggles had misted from the heat and she had had enough booze to make the Russians wince.
“Put it this way. Not only have I fucked up almost everything MANY TIMES OVER but those fuckups cost lives! People's and steins who aren't allowed to rest and automatons who don't know any better and a ship that's just a prison for Kids! Fukking kids of all things!”
She kept advancing on the retreating shadow with a look of haunted malice.
“I failed. I don't know why I or anyone for that matter thought I'd be anything more than a fuckup. Half baked half dead and a waste of Goddamn breath.
I figured maybe things would change if I work hard enough. Play hard enough. Tough it out and make damn sure I can handle myself. For nothing.
The world is going to end and that's now on my head, along with whatever FUCKING MORONS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUNNY TO PUT ME IN CHARGE!” She screamed the last part to the sky which remained silent and unmoved by her breakdown.
The shadow stopped moving and Bailey tried to see who it was but was still half convinced it was just her there.
“They must have had some faith in you. And you must've too since you agreed.”
A rapier blade whistled through the fog hitting nothing.
“People who put their faith in me end up dead! Ivan...those raiders..Hilda…” She choked on a sob. “Dad.”
She shook again as rage rose up once more.
“None of this would have happened if she had just. Stayed. The one day. Everything went wrong. Everything.”
“Would it? Really?”
The rapier swiped out again, hitting nothing again.
“You want to know what happened? What I was led to believe for fifteen years?!”
Stunned silence.
“so precious Stella had better things to do when lil five year old Bailey gets sick and can't go to school. Leaving her with her overworked husband, who pulled triple shifts to make sure her lady ship was never in need or want for anything.
So dear dad takes me to work with him because he can't afford to be late or hire a sitter. He left me to sleep in the supervisor office. However he is called for an emergency repair and guess what?
I wake up in a scary sounding and unfamiliar place with a monster staring down at me. Never saw an automaton before and being five it scared me shirtless. Didn't help having fever dreams either.
So I ran screaming bloody murder while this thing Chased me. I didn't know it was trying to keep me safe. We ended up where the emergency was and there's an explosion both me and this automaton get flung into a die press and he gets crushed pushing me back and woof!” she gestured to her left side. “gone. Everything crushed. Dad lost his job and he took me and this scrapped robot home and rebuilds it into this.”
She rips open the armour and even pulls off the casing exposing the slick cogs and gears and pumps and springs that kept her alive. There in the middle, the ticking clockwork heart which was practically whirring at this point.
“he knew if he was caught he'd be killed. She came back and all I remember is bursts of yelling and the door slamming. She left. Never saw her again. Not even a letter till now. It broke dad's heart and after he'd taught me to hide mine he died. I had no one. I barely scraped by school and had to live off charity or by doing small little jobs. Fearing any second my secret would get out. I repaired contraband in secret and made spare cash on the sly just to study how to build and fix and make. And I still fuck that up. Everything breaks or dies…”
She closed the exposed internals and redid her armour.”While growing up I was told repeatedly by my dad and my teachers and piers. Oh your mother went back home with her parents. Shame dear she must've Missed her family. She had enough of living poorly. Your dad must have done something awful. He blamed himself. ”
she mocked the voices then spat on the ground. “ that bitch walked out on a man so dedicated and loving that it killed him. She left her only child to fate without a fucking word. So yeah these rebel tossers might think she is a golden war hero with the sun shining out of her arse. But to me.” Bailey shook with rage but her voice got quiet and firm.
“Put it this way. I hate her more than I hate Eddison right now. She was the one who left. If she wants to see me again she better get on her knees and beg like her life depends on it. Cuz it just might. This little clockwork heart doesn’t not have much room to spare for love”
She’d circled back to the road into the town and blinked. The voice was silent and she felt exhausted and very very drunk. The last thing she saw was the ground rising up to her face before blacking out.

So this is kinda important I guess
Some of you may or may not know, my parents kicked me out last November. I, being a minor and unable to legally live on my own without emancipation, which I have no real basis to request, moved in with this family I’ve known for about 4 years. I used to go to their home for respite (please just google it I’ve been going to respite places since I was 7 and I honeslty have no idea what it is) so they know me pretty well. I’ve noticed a lot of various different things, though.
First of all, how they treat my mental health. I have a lot of issues with my mental health and behavioral control due to some unsavory things happening in my childhood, and sometimes those things come up and me, having been on meds for so freaking long and finally getting a say in whether or not I wanna take meds, I don’t take meds (although I started one about a month and a half ago and so far it’s mostly positive results but that’s not the point). My mom, if I couldn’t see the point of getting out of bed to go to school, would try to call the police for truancy. Also, if I needed to come home because I just couldn’t be at school, she’d have me do extra chores around the house as a sort of punishment for my “bad behavior”. My mom, for those of you who don’t know, is going to college to be a therapist and work with kids with mental health issues, by the way. My people (that’s what I prefer to call them. It’s simple enough so that I don’t really have to explain it), when I can’t see the point of getting out of bed to go to school, just let me be and check in every once in a while. I just have to text them that I’m taking a mental health day so they can call in to school and say I’m ill, which is frankly the truth. If I seem to be stressed or cranky, they don’t say, “why are you so cranky” or “jeez you woke up on the wrong side of the bed” and then push me to talk about it and proceed to tell me my issues are invalid. They say, “hey, I see that you seem to be upset. Would you like to talk about it?” And if I say no, they say “are you sure” and if I continue to say that I don’t want to talk about they tell me that they’re here if I need anything. They don’t push me to join the family and then say something like “nice of you to finally be a part of the family”. They make it known that they would like for me to be downstairs with them more often and when I’m downstairs, if I’m in a cheery mood they say “wow i haven’t seen your shining face in ages” or something along those lines.
Another thing I’ve noticed is the things they notice. Whenever we get fast food, I prefer Burger King (the bacon king and onion rings and a root beer with no ice) and they order for me and remember that that’s what I prefer. They noticed that after the third time we went to Burger King. And if I don’t come along and they get fast food, they always know what I like from various restaurants (most importantly no ice in my drink). They know I like Swiss rolls but not the little Debbie brand, the off brand stuff from the local grocery store. They know I love spam and try to keep it in the pantry (although it’s expensive and it’s understandable when I eat it all). They know I like the music I like, and when they go to a thrift store and they see a CD I might like, they’ll buy it. I have an avenged sevenfold cd (even though I don’t really listen to them that often), a good charlotte cd (actually my favorite cd from them), and an all American Rejects cd (again, favorite cd from them) that they bought me without my knowledge. They also know that I prefer medium t shirts and I love the color green (I literally have green hair). If they see a shirt at the thrift store (I love thrust stores btw) that they think I might like, they’ll get it. When I needed a new pair of shoes, they saw a pair of converse at a thrift store that was my size and they just got them. They were in good condition too. They know the things I like and notice the details. My parents know my favorite color but still somehow refuse to accept that I like the rest of the stuff I like and need better bras than Walmart bras and that I fit into medium shirts and not XXL shirts (although those are nice for sleeping). They don’t realize that I’ve lost a lot of weight and when I need new pants it’s sweatpants that are absolutely massive on me and are still too big when I have them tied. Sometimes my people will play a fall out boy song (they’re my favorite “emo” band but not my all time favorite band) kinda loud downstairs and see how long it takes me to shout the next lyrics after I realize that it’s fall out boy (I actually have freakishly good hearing when it comes to music but like everything else is like what no im like deaf).
Another thing that I’ve noticed that’s different between the two households is conversations. My parents are super conservative Christian parents. I’ll show my mom a meme and she’s like “well how do you think that makes that person feel that they’re like that” or ill tell a story about something or I’ll be really excited about something and they just look blankly at me or give halfhearted responses. Here, if I’m excited about something, people here get excited about stuff too. We all like different things but also like a lot of similar things. Like, if I wanna talk about my favorite beauty bloggers, I can talk to the person in the room next to mine. If I wanna talk about books I can talk to my roommate. If I wanna talk about video games I can talk to the guy down the hall. If I wanna talk about music I can talk to the youngest bio daughter (there’s ten people in my house btw as opposed to the four and occasionally five if my sister was home from college at my parents house). There’s always people to talk to about stuff. One of them was talking to the three year old the other day and I walked downstairs to get some water or something and I just heard her say “can you say DEEZ NUTZ” (keep in mind the person closest to my age is like 23). The baby was chewing on a toy potato and one of my people was like “hey look it’s you” and another one called me a breadstick so now they call me “carbohydrate” and the conversations are always nice and lively.
I also have a lot more freedom here. If I want to hang out with friends last minute, sure, just let me know where you’re going. If I wanna hang out with my closest (and longest) friend even though he’s a guy, sure, that doesn’t matter. When I decided that I wanted to stop taking birth control (I was only on it because I was on a shit ton of meds when I first got my shark week so it turned into shark month due to all the hormonal imbalances and whatnot and then I stopped taking meds and it’s all regular now) they said “okay just if you ever decide you want to get back on it because you want to do the stuff just let us know”. They let me have friends and do stuff last minute and go out in public to places and like be like a teenager in a book. My parents would freak out if I wanted to hang out with a boy, even with parental supervision and/ or in a group environment (excluding my dnd group but that’s cuz my DM is my best friends cousin and my parents love my best friend). If I wanted to visit a friend, it had to be planned a week in advance and they had to have met that friend beforehand. They had parental restrictions on my computer that banned any websites that were inappropriate for anyone under the age of ten (I’m 16 with a maturity level of a 30 year old for the most part) which made it nearly impossible to do my homework. They encouraged my wanting to do the arts (music, acting, and like drawing art) but if I needed new guitar strings (they’re like $5) they said no or if I wanted to paint they said no because “last time you got paint everywhere�� which wasn’t true. If I need guitar strings here, yeah sure, just do a bit extra chores to like “earn the money” or whatever (basic stuff like cleaning the bathroom) and if I want to paint just make sure I clean it up after. Earlier this summer (technically it was still during school) a popular amusement park about two hours from here had its openening weekend and one of my friends asked if I could go and my people were fine with it, I just did a lot of extra chores. We had a two hour car drive, me and this girl who’s my age, and we picked up a couple of her friends and all four of us went to the amusement park without adults. It was kinda weird.
Anyway that got kind of unorganized but my point is:
When I lived with my parents, I was anxious, depressed, and almost always angry.
Now that I live with my people in a more “caring” environment, I’m happier and less stressed and angry, although my anxiety and whatnot still flares up occasionally.
If the people you’re always with are good to you, you’re probably going to be in a better mood and have better physical/ mental health.
If the people you’re always with aren’t all that good to be around, you’re likely to have worse mental/ physical health and be in worse moods.
That was a lot and I apologize but that was really important for me to say that. Also I’m not trying to come off as ungrateful, my parents tried at first but this past year hasn’t been that great for any of us and everything slipped. And whatnot.
