GET TO KNOW YOUR ADMIN !!
name — Sage, but trying out Yan
pronouns — She/Her
preferred comms — I'm open to Discord and Tumblr IM, But if you want to reach me, I highly suggest reaching me on Discord. For some reason Tumblr doesn't notify me..
name of muse — Portgas D Ace
experience in RP — I've been roleplaying on platforms since I was 18.
best experiences — I'm new to the Tumblr scene of RP but at the same time, when I was roleplaying on Discord, people came into my DMs and plotting and were just as excited as I was. I hope to do the same on Tumblr
pet peeves/dealbreakers — I am not a fan of people godmodding? I think that it's called that...but I really do not like people not communicating if they have an issue or problem. I don't like miscommunication and unbalance. Please talk to me privately if you have something that I can improve on or do.
muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ) — EVERYTHING. But at the same time, for smut, I'd wish for people to talk to me and at least be on the same page. I want to go and make fun memories and have it come naturally instead of bang bang bang!
plot or memes — either! It's all good to me!
long or short replies — I'm open to either. For shorter replies I like those being light-hearted and mostly treat it like a whale of a tale. For longer posts, I will take longer when it comes to long replies, sometimes i don't have any juice.
best time to write — My time is sporadic. I will try my best but at the same time, I am tired usually after classes. But I should be good to go for after this
are you like your muse?: I don't know about that, but I will say that some similarities between me and my muse are one of a kind. I have a younger brother who I love dearly and sometimes will argue and fight with, but make no mistake, I will not hesitate to go to war for him..I think lol

Greetings, mun here! I wanted to make a pinned post as i don't have access to an about as i mainly use mobile!
This is a blog for Audrey, a lil demon kid with a big heart!
I'll put this post under a readmore as it's kinda long! ^_^
I don't have many rules as of rn but more will be added if I see the need arise!
First of all I want to say that I will always always go out of my way if I can to read and abide by your rules if you have an about, please do the same for me! :]
The main universal rules as always do apply such as no godmodding, please be literate (no one sentence replies), and please be respectful while interacting with me!
If you do so it's likely I'll get along with you great! :D Mun has about 20 years of rp experience and will try to write similar to how you do, though usually I tend to go long & descriptive!
There will likely be heavy and/or dark themes present! I apologize in advance but I do love me some good ole drama! Ha! It will all be properly tagged though, I promise. (ex: blood, gore, angst, trauma)
Also please be aware that Audrey is a minor so I will not be doing any shipping with him aside from childlike crushes!
I will likely include other characters to the blog eventually, such as Audrey's mom or others who may eventually be created. I will add their info as they appear and I can get to it. If these characters are of age I'd be open to shipping, though! I prefer it to occur naturally of course, as forcing ships is not my cup of tea.
(Please note this doesn't mean I'm immune to saying things like 'awww they could be such a cute pair!' in dms, that this won't be an invitation to force a ship.)
I am open to having multiple verses on this blog! :] If something drastic happens that warrants a new verse then so be it.
I will try to tag my posts as best I can but if i miss something please feel free to tell me!
Also feel free to send an ask whenever!
Oh yeah, PLEASE do not like or reblog spam here! I am perfectly fine with it on my main blog but on an rp blog it clogs things up and gets annoying really fast! Please be respectful of that here!
I don't really have the ability to make icons or anything for formatting purposes (nor am i really sure how...) so I'm sorry if my replies are a bit visually boring... ha...
I hope you come to enjoy my lil guy and I hope to make some awesome pals here! :D
Some info about the lil guy!
Full name is Audrey Deere (heheh)
He is 4'7 feet tall!
He's truly a sweetheart! Though being a half-demon sometimes less than savory intentions or urges crop up.
He's a faun! Top half boy bottom half little deer! :]
He lives with his mom in the woods near a small village.
His timeline is set in midevil times! So there will definitely be talks of witchhunting & audrey being scared of christian persecution.
Magic IS a thing aside from Audrey in his timeline but it is seen as very taboo and rare. It is often vilified and persecuted.
Please be aware though that not everything will be 100% accurate. I try to do my research but inevitably I will just decide that things happen there which didn't exist in the real world.
The way he pops into blogs is with a little power of his, he can create little uncontrolled portals when he wishes to explore! Uncontrolled meaning they don't always lead to where he wanted or expected them to!
As i can't really get nice colored pictures atm I'll put it here; Audrey has fluffy long brownish red hair, same as his fur! His eyes are a bright golden orange with a hint of blue when the light hits it right. & His skin is a darkish tan with a slight reddish hue (mostly in his cheeks and the blushing of his arms and torso!)
He's covered in freckles all over and his fur has tan speckles! 🤎
Here's a small reference for his fullbody;

Hey, I hope this question doesn't come off as rude, but I am a bit confused. You keep referring to "those fonts" on discord being bad for screen readers. And I scrolled down, but I didn't see what fonts that was referring to? I may habe missed it. Is it just all the fancy fonts or a certain group in general? Does using the italics or bold options mess with screen readers as well?
I don't do discord RP, but I would hate to have made a discord rules section or any discord section hard to read for aesthetic purposes. Are there any other common things you noticed on discord that messes with a screen reader?
oh no worries! so there's a trend of using generated fonts like the ones from this website and other symbols/texts that you wouldn't find on your keyboard, which really messes with screen readers and can be hard to read in general. my screen reader also doesn't differentiate between bold/italic. (but i think that is a settings thing potentially)
in general, i think avoiding generated text and not having important information in images and/or graphics is an excellent start. as this article explains, most screen reader users are used to them not being perfect, so it's less about writing for them and more about writing for everyone. so for example: explaining words like godmodding and metagaming for new players, using default fonts over generated ones, not making font extra small. all of that stuff plays into accessibility and is helpful for people!

N A R R A T O R
"This is the story... of a man named Stanley.
Stanley worked for a-
Hold it, hold it. Are you...?
You are! Goodness me, you're someone else. I've got to say, this is quite the shock. How long has it been since I've spoken to anyone but Stanley? You do know Stanley, don't you? ...No? Not ringing any bells? Hrm. Why, I had no idea I slipped into another game at all. That... is what this is, isn't it? It's another game, clearly, though I don't see any mention of such in my notes. One moment, please, wait just a tic."
Though there is no man, no physical being to ascribe such sounds to, the gentle scraping of calloused hands flipping through looseleaf papers and the rustles of their movements fill the room, along with faint wisps of wind from the pages being turned about this way and that, displacing air despite their complete and utter lack of physical form. The being, whatever he is, hums to himself as he sorts through his various plot synopses .
"No, no no no, it would seem that this all revolves around him, so there's no reason for you to be, well, not him. You're you, and I need him. Quite the pickle we're in, now. Oh, dear, where are my manners? I'm your most humble Narrator, and I'll call you... hold on, can you speak? It's been a terribly long while since I've had a protagonist that could answer me. Come on, then! Speak up! Nice and clearly, now - Introduce yourself for all the readers and watchers and Let's Play aficionados!"
Tumblr media
The Narrator of Stanley Parable and Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Edition. Not particularly interested in actual Stanleys, but rather, hoping for crossovers in various supernatural settings. Will create sideblog if there is interest.
Narrator has no physical form that can be seen. Should we manage to merge worlds, his form would be flickering and shifting, but average out to something approximating a very dull looking 50-some year old man with thick rimmed glasses, short and tidy salt-and-pepper hair, and business casual attire. Otherwise, e is a disembodied voice that operates on a parallel plane of reality to where your character is, yet he has immense control of the world.
...sort of. Here's the fun part: godmod may be part of the game, and your character does not have to play along. He will, on instinct, dictate what your character does, says, and thinks, but in your replies, you character doesn't have to do that. "Jane Doe walked left down the hall, wondering to herself why every light was off in the middle of the day. She could feel the dread pooling in her stomach," may be answered by said Jane Doe backtracking and calling The Narrator a moron for not knowing that the power goes out every Tuesday at 2.
He may also control the surroundings, taking away or adding pieces as he pleases, though how well they actually follow his lead is... less than predictable. It seems we may end up with an Adventure Line 2.0 at this rate. He has some understanding of your character's original canon as time goes on, naturally absorbing information but never quite knowing all the important details. We can discuss beforehand if there are any pieces of information you want to keep him in the dark about.
Too Long Didn't Read, this is a character where you, the writer, do not have to "yes, and-". In fact, you are encouraged to pick and choose when you would prefer to "no, but-" The rules of improv are being flipped on their head as we speak!
Speaking of speaking, after so many lifetimes and timelines with a silent protagonist, The Narrator has a habit of rambling. Beware the droning.

From an observation standpoint, much of the RP from The Before Times seemed to be the same way. Thinking 'bout some of my longtime mutuals here and people I followed who are no longer around (at least not on Tonglr) most of y'all wrote your characters into their own roleplay plots absent of any of the larger MSQ, and shipping was sought with other RPers. There used to be some contention over shipping your OCs with important lore characters and you didn't see it too terribly often. Now everyone's married to G'raha or Y'shtola. I think a lot of us came from games like WoW where it wasn't until recently that your character was put on a pedestal as a renowned hero. Most WoW RP'ers didn't write their characters having slain Deathwing and the like, they were more focused on their roles in the over-arching world based purely on their chosen race and class. Or you came from games like TERA (rip) where it was like... lore? What lore? Elitists in WoW tended to put your head on a chopping block if you did make your character into an all-powerful super special hero. Hell, even DRAGON rp'ers used to get thrown in the stew and now we have Dracthyr). There's nothing BAD about the "WoL" era per se, it's just Some Thoughts I've been having for a while about the shift of how things are here. I remember eons ago making a post about how I liked how fresh and limited XIV's lore was compared to WoW. The Warcraft universe is HUGE- spanning from the '90s RTS games, into forms of written media that are inaccessible and hard to find these days. Almost every little detail was explored to some degree, complete with retcons and other changes depending on who the writer was. It's a carryover from other Western nerdery like the Star Wars EU or Warhammer novels. It was easy to put yourself in the sights of lore elitists and made getting into WoW RP borderline anxiety-inducing. XIV is over ten years old now, and this year will also be the tenth anniversary of ARR. Still- do we know the explicit details of every Seeker clan or Xaela tribe? Nope. Did we know anything other than vague details about Sharlayan and Thavnair up until recently? Nope. Even as more lore is added, XIV's is still a sandbox and you can more or less do what you want without sending some jackass at you with a hatchet over one tiny "mistake" or accusations of being a Sue or godmodding. I honestly hope it stays that way, where you CAN either be Just Some Guy or an actual Warrior or Light/Darkness, and you CAN choose to only ship with other "commoner" player characters or get hitched to a core NPC.

@saiyanandproud || Orachi starter
Conton City was a far different life style that the recently recruited Namekian was still getting used to. Stepping back in time to avoid a pair of rushing Patrollers, Orachi turned to watch them run off with a twitch of one antenna, wondering how long he was going to feel awkward being around so many different kinds of people.
Turning back to watch where he was going, Orachi was trying to find his way to one of those districts that was supposed to supply items to the Patrollers; the no-fly rule imposed certainly made the traveling slower, not until he could get a license anyway.
❝How can people like cities so much,❞ he'd grumble audibly.

Hey there - look, not sure if I'm reading into stuff too much or not, but I do hope you didn't take anything I tagged you in, or anything that was born of the Cor/Loqi thing as a personal attack? It certainly wasn't meant that way, and I can guarantee all my stuff/replies was meant IC only - at the end of the day, we're all here just to write and it's a hobby :)
dear god I would hope I didn’t take any of this personally, because then I would think you were telling ME over 20 times that I’M the piece of shit.
I gained 10 followers in the span of that frantic, bizarre hour long marathon of everyone telling me my muse is a piece of shit.
and then when I told all of you to calm down and leave me alone, I lost 30 followers.
Why? Is it because I wasn’t appealing anymore not being available to gang up on?
This isn’t “A personal attack” I was overwhelmed when you people popped the fuck up out of nowhere and just started screaming “You’re a piece of shit, you should be killed, you’re a horrible monster, why are you alive?”
If you’re doing this for fun can you just calm down then? None of you even bothered to address the fact that I said to leave me alone, didn’t even leave a like on that post that I reblogged FIFTEEN TIMES hoping someone would read it.
None of you even mentioned it.
Except for an extremely condescending psa I later found where they blamed ME because you couldn’t “read my mind”.
I thought this was basic knowledge that people don’t like being ganged up on and screamed at incessantly.
I’m sorry if you think I took this as a personal attack, I know it wasn’t, because you never attacked me, but holy shit, this was so hard to sit thought and it became very clear I didn’t want to interact with people who act like THAT. It’s fucking scary. If that WAS a personal attack, I would’ve wanted to delete knowing there was a group of people that aggressive in tearing you down and full on calling you a liar and godmodding their RP threads to fit their narrative just to vilify me so easily.

Advice please. I have a partner who has a habit of metagaming/godmodding our rp's on small scales. Her muse making inferences about mine using things we discussed ooc, but didn't include in the thread, introducing characters to try and prompt me to play them, implying my characters performing actions to try and point the thread in another direction. I've asked her numerous times to stop, and I genuinely think she tries to understand, but she still does it.
Hi anon!
Sorry this took a little bit to get to! I’ve also met with similar problems a bunch of times, so hopefully I’ll be able to help out a bit.
I think the most important piece of this is that she still does it despite trying to learn (unlike my past experiences). It’s highly commendable and very good that she does try, but her inability (and/or unwillingness) to change is worrisome. Since this is a big problem to you, I recommend gently bringing it up to her again and this time offering to give some advice on how to stop godmodding. Remind her that even the small things (such as introducing random characters that were not discussed/wanted and using ooc to inform her muse’s ic actions) can feel oppressive and controlling to you. Solving the specifics are a little more difficult, but I recommend just talking to her, perhaps saying something like:
“Hey, I know we’ve talked about this before and I really really appreciate your efforts to stop metagaming/godmodding our threads on a small scale. I've noticed that even though you’re trying hard, some ((or many, since I don’t know the entire context of this)) of your replies still feel godmod-y to me. ((Now provide some concrete examples--which thread, which reply, and which muse)). I really hope we can work something out since I enjoy having you as a rp partner. Why don’t we revisit this issue for a little while so we can both keep having fun?”
And to address some specific issues that you brought up:
“If you would like this thread to go in another direction, I’m happy to put the thread on hold temporarily and talk it out with you ooc and see what we can come up with.”
“If you would like your muse to learn x about my muse, we could plot a thread that has your muse learn x about my muse so it feels more natural.”
“If you would like to rp with other characters, I can recommend some blogs.”/”I would rather not play with x character. I’m sorry if this disappoints you, but ((insert reasons why you won’t rp x here)).”
And finally, remember that while she’s trying very hard, you have a right to set boundaries and enforce them. Be firm, but be polite.
Do our followers have any advice?
-- Mod Renoir
