One thing I’ve been thinking about for the past couple days, but something I’m not the biggest fan of with Kingdom is how the majority of the Cookies of Darkness are played more for jokes than they are for serious. And thus in doing so, the CoD itself doesn’t feel like that much of a threat
Like yeah, I like seeing stuff with the CoD just doing silly stuff, and I don’t need them to be super dark and serious 100% of the time, but like, of the Cookies of Darkness, the only characters that are consistently treated like an actual threat are Dark Enchantress Cookie and Pomegranate Cookie, though even then sometimes she’s part of the gag. And sure, some of the characters in the main story may be treated like a threat, like Red Velvet (despite his one appearance) and Affogato, but then also you’ll have them in a boy band or chilling at the rock festival, totally incognito
And again, it’s not that I don’t enjoy this stuff, but it’s just, how am I supposed to take the Cookies of Darkness as a serious threat when you’re putting them in boy bands and school AUs? Especially when more often than not, it’s the jokey route they use with them?
It’s part of the reason I don’t really see why we need all these Legendaries and Dragons and armies to fight Dark Enchantress, because 80% of the CoD are a bunch of silly little guys. I know realistically DE is powerful and has her Cake Army, hence why they need all that power, but that impression that they’re actually a threat doesn’t typically come to mind for me. But maybe that’s a me thing
And like, honestly I’d say Ovenbreak does it better when it comes to having the CoD seem like a threat. Sure I haven’t seen every event with them involved and I know they only show up like, once in a blue moon, but they usually cause actual problems, and if anything the fact that we see them so little makes them feel more significant, and like Dark Enchantress is more of a looming threat
I dunno, that’s just how I feel

Not a monster // Carachoco (Ghoul Choco AU)
(Since a lot of you guys asked for more content around the Ghoul Choco idea, have some more.)
"Caramel Arrow!"
"Carmel Arrow cookie!"
Caramel Arrow cookie slowly regained consciousness, after being knocked into a wall of the Dark Cacao Citadel. While trying to regain her vision, she notices fellow watchers surrounding her in distress and concern for her well-being. Tapping her face and shaking her lightly, to help her regain consciousness.
"W-where..."
"Caramel Arrow cookie!"
"You had us worried there, old friend!"
Caramel Arrow cookie slowly sat up in pain, looking around her body to find any cracks or cuts. Thankfully, none were found other than two minor cracks on her lower back.
"Where's... where's his majesty?"
"He was knocked into the walls of the Citadel by that... that... monster!"
"No! He isn't a monster! I know more than anyone, that there is still some good in the prince!"
"You saw what he did to his majesty! Even before this, the prince destroyed our kingdom! Our Home! He nearly killed his majesty! TWICE!! Do you really think there's still good in that husk of a cookie?!"
Caramel Arrow sighed.
"Yes, the prince did commit those heinous acts... destroyed our home... and nearly killed his majesty, but... there has to be more to the story than the prince betraying the Dark Cacao kingdom!"
"Well," A watcher asked, "what do you suggest we do? The beast is too strong to be attacked head-on!"
"That is for me to figure out. I want all of you to go around the Citadel and look for any of Affogato's disciples that are still left in the Citadel, preferably Affogato himself. If you find any of them, capture them and bring them back here. So they can be brought to justice!"
"What about you, old friend?!" The Second watcher exclaimed, "You can't just face that beast alone! You will crumble!"
"I have known the prince my entire life, Choco Bow Cookie..." Caramel Arrow remarked quietly as she stood up. "Whenever he needed to vent about anything bothering him... he came to me for guidance. Whether it be teaching me how to use the bow, or just wanting to have a small chat! The prince was so kind and put others' needs before his own... something just isn't making any sense..."
Before the watcher could continue thinking, the ground shook violently as cries of pain could be heard pursuing it. This immediately caught Caramel Arrow's attention and whipped her head back to the remaining watchers.
"We don't have much time! We have to hurry before the walls crumble!"
"Yes Ma'am!"
Within a blink of an eye, the watchers separated from each other, while Caramel Arrow sprinted as fast as she could in the opposite direction. As she passed by cracked pillars and random objects set aflame, she noticed the picture of the fallen prince, set aflame while scratches covered the prince's face. This caused the watcher to stop in her tracks, as she gazed upon the burning picture.
"My prince... What went wrong...? How could you throw your life away like this...?" She sighed as tears began to fall.
"Don't worry... I'll fix everything... I promise..."
Suddenly, the scent of burning dough and dark chocolate caught Caramel Arrow cookie's attention. She was getting close. To make sure she doesn't draw attention, the watcher slowly crept to the source of the familiar scent; the throne room. Seeing the doors slammed into the walls, she peered into the room to see a horrific sight. The beast had Dark Cacao cookie laying on rubble that was formerly the throne, coughing up strawberry jam violently as he struggled to breathe.
"W-why....?" the king coughed as strawberry jam clogged his mouth.
At this mere comment, the beast only formed an evil grin on its face, knowing that the end of a king's reign is drawing near. This caused Caramel Arrow to instantly jump into action, sprinting as fast as she could and blocking the beast's way.
"STOP!"
The beast looked at her, surprised that she was still alive. Just below him, the watcher stood her ground but not drawing out her weapon, which confused the king she was protecting.
"C-Caramel... Arrow..."
"Stop this madness, Dark Choco cookie! This isn't you! What happened to the cheerful prince that I still remember...? The one cookie who taught me how to wield a bow...? The cookie who wanted to make everyone happy...? The cookie who put others before him...?"
The beast stood there, blankly.
"I know there's still good in you Dark Choco...! You're a good cookie with a big heart...! Remember when you would vent to me about what was bothering you...? You always would mention your father in one way or another... and I never picked up that you were... hurting. I don't think anyone did... did they?"
The beast growled sadly while looking away slightly.
"No... not even your own father did. Now that I think about it, all you wanted was his attention... wasn't it...?"
The beast began to shake, struggling to keep himself together. Everything started flowing back into his mind like waves, too big for the most skilled surfer to handle. He shook his head, trying his best to forget. He knew she was just doing this to break him down... and it was working. The beast began to scoot away from the watcher, but she only walked closer.
"That's why you went to go find that sword of yours... right...? So you can gain your father's approval and protect the kingdom...? I've heard about that sword... it'll curse anyone who wields it onto a path of eternal suffering and darkness..."
Tears began to fall from Caramel Arrow cookie's eyes as she recounted everything that has happened before this very moment.
"If only I knew where you were going..." She sniffed. "Maybe... this all could've been prevented... none of this is your fault Dark Choco... it's mine..."
"No... it isn't your fault Caramel Arrow cookie..." Dark Cacao weakly said as he began to stand up from the rubble.
"This all could've been prevented... had I only paid more attention to the most important thing in my life... instead of focusing solely on the walls of the licorice sea..."
"It'll be alright Dark Choco cookie..." the watcher stated as she put out her hand towards the beast. "It'll all be alright... I promise..."
The beast hesitated but placed his forehead on her hand, and dark red tears fell from his eyes as he began to fade away. The more tears fell, the more parts of him vanished, soon revealing the bawling prince once more. Cuddling into Caramel Arrow's arms as he shook like a leaf.
"It'll be alright, my prince..." she said as she softly kissed the poor prince's forehead.
"I promise..."

Life Is About Choices, Right?
Summery: Tim wonders if dying gives him the right to abandon his family
There aren’t many steps between him and his family.
Of course physically, there is quite the distance separating him from the manor, but this wasn’t about distance. Not really.
Pursing his lips, he lets his hand slack, allowing his suitcase to tumble to the ground. It makes a loud noise, a clatter and then nothing.
Briefly Tim wonders whether he is being cruel. Vindictive? Merciless?
If he could only muster up the strength to walk up the path, hail a taxi and put in the ten minutes work it took to make it to the front gates. He was sure his family would welcome him back with open arms.
He’d only been gone for seven months, nine days and twenty-two hours and counting. They’d grieved long enough, looked for him long enough and then resumed their lives long enough. They looked happier now. Content, recovering.
Still, no matter how rosy their lives looked from the outside Tim knew it was anything but. He’d been in a similar situation after all. Had seen the devastation, the denial, the anger. Had firsthand witnessed Bruce spiral out of control, had witnessed Dick Grayson’s broken heart.
He knew they had missed him.
Grieved him.
Loved him, in their own way and lost him.
Wasn’t it then cruel to not go back?
If they had fought for him; five months, seven days and nine hours. If they’d been relentless in their pursuit for him, in his rescue; despite the lack of evidence, despite the hopelessness of the case, despite the horrors. If they’d given him five months of undivided attention, didn’t he owe it to them to go back?
His knee buckles and Tim draws in a sharp breath. Ouch.
Bringing his left hand down to his weaker leg, he clams the fingers around the joint, pressing hard enough to bruise. It again flares up but eventually the burn resides and he removes his hand.
It leaves behind a dark patch of red on the otherwise pristine jeans.
Closing his eyes, Tim tries to imagine his welcoming.
He imagines Bruce with his disbelief, Dick with all the hugs and tears and Jason with the snark, but his eyes would be wet and his arms would be shaking. And it would show Tim all he needed to know about how much his ‘death’ effected Jason. Cass would kiss both his cheeks and Alfred might pull him into a hug to hide his tears. Duke would openly cry of course and Damian, well, Tim isn’t quite sure about Damian. But he might welcome him back too. After all the kid had grown quite a lot since he last saw him.
Bruce will hug him too in the end. After he got over his suspicion and fear, he would hug him. Would hug him so tight Tim would hardly be able to breathe through it.
They’d missed him after all.
Coughing suddenly, he wheezes until it feels as if his lungs are about to burst. Chest rattling, he grimaces.
What did one owe loved ones when you’ve lived your whole life paying an unpayable price to them?
Did you owe them peace? Happiness? Relief? Love perhaps? Tim wasn’t sure anymore.
He’d been gone for too long. Been deconstructed, and then reconstructed. Been hurt, and then had hurt. Had died and then had lived. Yes, he’d lived. Free from responsibilities, free from consequences, from sadness or fear. From debt and deception.
He hadn’t been happy, but he’d been alive.
So what did one owe a family who could strip that all away?
“If you want to go back, I’m not going to stop you kid.”
His mouth suddenly feels dry and his eyes sting. He doesn’t turn around to inspect his visitor. He doesn’t have to. “I told you I wanted to do this alone.”
“I know,” John says, voice mild but Tim knows, oh Tim knows.
“Then why are you here?”
He has yet to move from the very position he’d found himself in the moment he’d stepped into this street. He hasn’t moved. Partly because he can’t; just the thought of putting one foot in front of the other brings him unimaginable pain. But also because he won’t. It’s not fair, but he won’t. And Constantine is well aware.
Maybe that’s why he hates him so much.
“I came for moral support?”
Tim snorts.
John huffs.
“Yeah, sounds stupid. But it’s true.”
John Constantine.
A year ago and Tim wouldn’t have paid him much of a mind. Six months later and he’s willing to lay down his life for this very man.
Funny this world they lived in.
“Do you want to go back Tim?”
Did he?
“I don’t know.”
“I’m not going to stop you if you do.”
He wouldn’t.
John was many things but he didn’t enforce his life on anyone. If Tim decided to walk away, decided to hail that cab, get in and drive to the manor. He was sure John would let him go. Would he be disappointed? Sure. But he wouldn’t stop him. Tim could appreciate that.
“I don’t want to go back.”
“Oh?”
“I mean,” for the first time his voice falters, he still doesn’t turn around. Fingers opening and closing, eyes fixated on the gray suitcase lying in the dirt. “I want to, but that’s my mind tricking me. Trying to drag me back to the familiar. I can’t go back. Not if I hope to find Bart.”
He hears John shuffle behind him. Poor Constantine could be awkward at the best of times. Tim finds himself smiling at the consistency. “I could find your friend on my own you know. He is the last one.”
Tim shrugs. “He’s my family. I need to be there when you do.”
“Aren’t they your family too?” John is next to him now, leaning down to right the suitcase. One arm casually coming up to rest on his shoulder after he straightens. Tim doesn’t say anything, but it makes him smile. The consideration.
“They are. But, they are the family I chose. Bart is the family I love.”
“Is there a difference?”
Leaning heavily on the man next to him, Tim finally closes his eyes and shudders. “I would die for them, but for Bart, for Kon, for Cassie I--”
“Would sell your soul.”
Tim smiles. “Yeah.”
“Very well then.”
John smells of smoke and death and power and comfort. John Constantine smells of home and sacrifice, of rescue and bargain. He is what Tim turned to in his time of need. When no one came, when he cracked, when he died.
John Constantine was his path now.
Going back to the manor would been going backwards. Would mean abandoning Bart. Would mean never getting the others home. Would mean setting the Wayne family’s healing process back a few steps.
No, Tim couldn’t go back.
He could never go back.
“When will we leave?”
John drops his hand, pulls out a cigarette. Tim lifts his own hand, flicks his fingers and lights it. “Right about now kiddo. Hold on.”
When the shimmering glow falls shut behind them, all there is left on the deserted street of San Peters Avenue is an old gray suitcase that once belonged to the deceased Timothy Jackson Drake Wayne, age twenty-one and counting?
The End
@throneoffirebreathingbitchqueen @river9noble @miss-choco-chips @punjabj-ninja
This really isn’t a long fic (maybe an au, I’m not sure) but it’s something that popped into my head, so while I don’t know if you’ll like it, better safe than sorry right?

okay so i have some ideas about how the guild squad arc is going to resolve in the end so i put them all together :) it’s kinda long so it’ll be under a readmore but feel free to add any thoughts you have!!
okay unless there's something about the guild squad dark choco cookie hunt storyline i missed, we don't know where DC is going, right? but we know that they were in the dragon's valley, with or at least near pitaya, because pitaya mentions a cookie touched by darkness passing through the valley. that's not a very convenient location to travel to and probably not a great place to stay if you're unfamiliar with it, but they were there, meaning they may have looked for something, but they obviously didn't find it and so continued on their way.
and then right before the earthquake, yam says that he has a hunch about where DC was going and/or what they were looking for! and i know mango first introduces the additional dragon lore to milk and dino for story reasons because we the players are unfamiliar with it, but it's safe to say that mala knows about the dragons, and yam probably also knows something about it, whether that be from prior knowledge or from asking mala about them.
because DC was at least formerly royalty, we can expect them to have had a pretty thorough education, so DC may have also heard the legends of the dragons! and they went to dragon's valley to seek them out, but found that all of them had fled except for pitaya, so they may have tried to approach or investigate pitaya which is why pitaya knew they'd passed through. but pitaya wasn’t the dragon they wanted- they control “fire and brimstone” which overall isn’t very helpful to DC, so DC left the valley.
so what if.......... DC is seeking out the blue dragon for a wish! maybe to uncurse them! or they may even be looking for the violet dragon, who manipulates darkness- but i also like the idea of DC’s corruption being somehow tied to the violet dragon and not to dark enchantress, so maybe the violet dragon is trying to bring their “toy” back now that their power is waning?
and the interesting thing about all this is that mala and yam will likely encounter the blue dragon wherever they are, along with the ivory dragon, but milk and dino are (or were) near the violet dragon's island, so regardless of where DC might have gone, only half the squad (and half the people looking for them) will find them.
and with blueberry pie's city of wizards event, devsis has proven that they're willing to do a choose-your-adventure type of thing............... maybe you choose which half of the squad’s story to follow, and that determines who meets DC, and DC's fate (violet dragon or blue dragon) depends on that. and blue dragon/violet dragon is like good end/bad end for DC.
if they get the good end, they’ll be with yam, the guy who distrusts them and believes they’re evil and selfish, etc.
but if they get the bad end, presumably falling deeper into corruption and serving the darkness, they’ll be with milk, who's implied to be blindly idolizing them.
in the good end i imagine that DC frees themselves of the curse for good, either by using a wish from the blue dragon or by asking the ivory dragon what they need to do to be free and stay that way. and yam and mala probably encounter them right before or while they’re interacting with the dragons.
and i imagine DC sort of remembers yam because of the fight for the title and everything and they realize why yam must be after them and yam gives his whole monologue about what a piece of shit DC is but before they actually fight, DC willingly relinquishes the title.
like they admit that they should never have taken it and that they were in the wrong and that yam is more deserving of it, etc. and yam is like 'fine okay' and that’s that, and he's ready to bail on DC as soon as mala gets what SHE needs but like. yam knows that milk would be DEVASTATED if he found out that yam and mala had found DC but not brought DC to see him, and yam also won't lie or ask mala to lie if milk asks about DC.
so yam is like 'don't get me wrong i still hate you but we need you to come with us' and DC is like 'okay i have nothing better to do i guess' so like. assuming the wishes have parameters and they can't wish themselves to where milk and dino are, they ask the ivory dragon where and how to find them and then set off to meet back up with the rest of the squad.
i think mala still tags along because maybe the other two dragons tell her that they need all 5 dragons to heal the valley? idk it's an excuse to keep mala but anyway they have their journey and find milk and dino with the other dragons and i just picture like. mala stumbling upon where milk and dino are first and they're like Holy Shit Mala and she calls yam over and they're like Holy Shit We're Together Again but then DC comes through and milk is like HOLY SHIT DC and milk is like 'DARK CHOCO!!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU!!!' (completely not noticing like their emo outfit and their emo weapon and their missing eye because he's too excited)
but DC is just like '...who are you?'
and milk is kinda taken aback because he's thinking that DC MUST remember him, and he tries to remind DC of how they saved milk all that time ago but DC is just like 'i've had a lot of fights and i've killed and saved people in equal measure, i don't know who you are' and DC is tired and hurting and feeling ashamed and aimless so they don’t even TRY to be tactful about it and it CRUSHES milk
[insert the rest of story here] because i have ideas for the scene that follows but that’s too long and detailed for this post.
anyway bad end….. idk what exactly the violet dragon would do to DC, but it would probably involve making the curse more severe and probably making DC more malicious as a Just For Fun :) sort of thing, or maybe the violet dragon wants DC as a bodyguard and an agent of darkness now that their own power is fading (of course this depends on whether the violet dragon is evil or is cool and just happens to have an unfortunate domain of power).
so i just imagine like. milk and dino going to see the violet dragon, and since they're not as well-versed in the lore as mala is, they're not really sure what they're walking into (i don't think that ananas is willing to give them much help because of what they did to the island)
and as they’re making their way to the violet dragon's lair, they begin to see evidence of someone else passing through, and yam never got the chance to share his theory with milk but i think maybe milk began to get a similar idea? so he's like Dino Holy Fuck and they're following these tracks, which is convenient because it seems to be leading right to the dragon anyway!
i don't think that they ever really "see" the violet dragon, i imagine that they get around to the violet dragon's lair and DC is just. chilling outside, completely nonchalant, acting like nothing is wrong
like they’re just sitting on a rock outside kindling a campfire, sharpening their sword, and maybe the violet dragon is able to access their memories so that they see this old, vague memory with milk and they're like I Can Make A Trap Out Of This :)
the violet dragon sees this emissary of light approaching and doesn't want that shit so!! they can use their new toy to fix the problem :)
but they also don't want DC risking a fight where they’re outnumbered so DC is like (still basically possessed) '...milk? is that you?' and milk is THRILLED
DC invites milk and dino to stay with them around the campfire and talk, and promises that the next morning they'll all go to see the dragon together- but the dragon is actually intending to have DC kill milk and dino in their sleep.
so they sit around talking and DC is being pleasant and friendly, if a little quiet (the dragon is making them let milk and dino speak as a way of gathering information). and meanwhile mala and yam have reached their set of dragons and something just feels Wrong to both of them. some kind of intuition i guess. so i just imagine them frantically asking the ivory dragon what's going on with dino and milk and the ivory dragon thinks for a minute and then they're like 'your two friends are in immediate danger, and likely will not live to see the sun rise tomorrow'
and yam is like 'what kind of danger?????' and the ivory dragon describes DC and yam is like son of a fuck
and beforehand mala can ask or wish for what she needs because lesbian rights and she deserves it but idk they use their other wish from the blue dragon to get to dino and milk somehow but like :) just A Little Too Late to fully prevent everything :)
no one dies except maybe DC depending on how edgy you wanna be! i think jellysaur is on edge and growling and biting at DC every time they come near, because animals just have that Sense, so jellysaur wakes milk and dino just before DC can kill them, but there's still a fight before yam and mala are able to get to them :)
anyway i do have more thoughts but that’s for another time :)

Alright, so here’s this au idea I’ve been working on recently
So some time ago, I saw an au where Dark Choco Cookie and Whipped Cream Cookie were raising a young Princess Cookie (I don’t remember if they adopted her or she’s actually theirs, because their designs do make it plausible), and I guess it got me to wonder “well what if Dark Choco Cookie ended up raising Tiger Lily, the one who was left on her own, instead?” Then a couple days ago that idea resurfaced and I started doing some drawings and coming up with ideas
So as shown in the first picture, in this au, sometime after his banishment (but before he joined the CoD, as that seems to have been a relatively recent point in the timeline), Dark Choco ended up in the Hollyberry jungle, and there he found a young Tiger Lily Cookie (around 4-6) all by herself. Maybe she was like, trying to steal his food or something. Anyways, he was shocked to find a small child in the jungle all alone, and tried to help her find someone that knew her or could take care of her, and then upon realizing that she really was all by herself, save for her Butter Tiger, he decided that he couldn’t just leave her there and took her in
And then things just go from there, he raises her and things ensue, not much else to tell you there
I do have more notes about this au, I just don’t know whether I should put them before the design details or after
Screw it, I’ll just put ‘em here
So as stated, this is before Dark Choco joins the Cookies of Darkness, and as such, in this au he never actually ends up joining them. Everything up to Dark Choco getting banished is still the same though
Also as such, Dark Choco is not a villain; a neutral party at worst
The two basically just travel around Earthbread, never staying in one place too long. They don’t really have a set home, but they’re fine with that. The one place they don’t go is the Dark Cacao Kingdom, due to Dark Choco being banished from there and him holding to Dark Cacao’s wish to “never come back”. They do go to the other Ancients’ kingdoms, but they tend to steer clear of the capitals, due to both social awkwardness and Dark Choco feeling uncomfortable with the idea of seeing his dad’s old friends after everything that happened. This is why Dark Choco and Tiger Lily have not met the Hollyberry royal family yet
For now, Tiger Lily Cookie is staying with the name Tiger Lily Cookie, which is a tribute to her Butter Tiger. Also I’m not sure what Dark Choco would call her
Because she was raised by a Cookie, Tiger Lily speaks proper Cookie language. That does not mean to say she won’t hiss or growl at someone
As Dark Choco no longer has an active ticket to the plot, I’m not sure when they’d show up. I want to have them appear during the Hollyberry storyline (since it’s relevant to Tiger Lily, Dark Cacao’s storyline is next and would be good for his development, and also the sheer chaos), but I’m not sure how to fit them in, other than them just randomly showing up
Speaking of which, Dark Choco is aware Tiger Lily looks a lot like Jungleberry, and he knows Jungleberry and Royal Berry were dating and has wondered if they’re related, but he doesn’t do anything about it because it’s been years and he has no clue if Jungleberry even has kids, and even then, he doubted Jungleberry would leave her kid out in the wilderness, whether intentional or not, and if she were dead, then Dark Choco Cookie doesn’t know any family of hers
As shown, Dark Choco Cookie ended up eventually forfeiting the Strawberry Jam Sword years prior to when he did in canon, due to his time taking care of Tiger Lily and him realizing that following the sword is not a path he can take anymore with Tiger Lily. It’s a decision between the sword’s power and Tiger Lily, and he chose Tiger Lily, and he’s much happier for it. As for what happened to the Strawberry Jam Sword, I’m not sure, but I do want to bring it back in somehow
Also the Butter Tiger is still here. It met Dark Choco Cookie not long after Tiger Lily did, but the two ended up reaching some form of mutual respect, as each saw the other truly meant the girl no harm. Butter Tiger does not have a name (other than Butter Tiger) out of respect, and Dark Choco treats the cat like an equal, knowing he’s not some mindless beast and is very intelligent
The second picture was just me messing with concepts, and just me wanting to draw Dark Choco doing her hair
Then after that I tried to come up with some actual designs for them in this au
So for Tiger Lily, I based her look mostly off of her Snow Warrior outfit and some Dark Cacao soldier outfits, though as I say there, I think she looks a bit too much like a Dark Cacao warrior, despite her never actually going there. I also originally gave her a guandao, but I changed it to just a normal spear because I thought it was too similar. I decided to keep her stripe markings because Butter Tiger. As for the eyes, I wanted to make them more normal, since she’s not a feral child, but I wanted to keep in elements of her wild upbringing, so I gave her slit pupils like Crunchy Chip Cookie (another thing I want to mention, while her eyes usually stay like this, they can sometimes go back to her usual eyes, typically when she gets surprised or is being feral). I also gave her a braid like Hollyberry’s huntress outfit, because I liked it and I thought it would be a good way to keep her hair long and not have it drag on the ground
Next for Dark Choco, I mostly drew elements from his most recent design. I made his hair longe because (mini ramble warning) I had heard something about how back in old Korea (I heard China did it too), there was this thing about how you weren’t allowed to cut your hair because it was something given to you by your parents, and cutting it was essentially like cutting off ties with your family (and also it was sometimes a criminal punishment?), and this seemed to be something that Dark Choco and Dark Cacao followed with their hair. Given Dark Choco’s short hair in his Prince of a Lost Kingdom costume, it’s likely that his hair was cut after his betrayal, whether by him or his father (I like to assume it was him due to his guilt over what he did and him thinking there’s no going back for him now). Something else I’ve noticed is that with his short hair, it never looks like it’s naturally that length, rather it always looks like it’s cut, leading me to believe he regularly cuts it as a way of punishing himself and not allowing himself to let go of what he did. Here though, he’s gotten character development and has been letting himself heal and start over, finding a new purpose in life, and thus, he’s let his hair grow longer. It’s nowhere near what it used to be, but it’s a start. I also gave him lighter colored clothes to symbolize the fact that he’s more positive, and is also more on the good side here. Also he has a different sword because no SJS
Anyways yeah, I think that’s all I had. I know I had a few more ideas I wanted to sketch out for this but I didn’t. In any case I hope you enjoyed this!
