HGUC 1/144 MSN-00100 "Hyaku-Shiki"
It's finally here!!! The pearl gold looks really really good, and it's still really reflective and shiny under the right lighting. Still a little disappointed I couldn't get a metallic finish but I'm reluctant to pay $100 for anything less than MG.
The poseability on this kit is really really good, and the joints are a lot stiffer and easier to work with than with the Zeta Gundam (posted here earlier).
The clay bazooka also looks really sleek and fits nicely onto the model's back. As with a lot of older kids a little bit of painting is required to get the kit looking anime-accurate; I had to paint the yellow and blue details on the beam rifle.
The kit comes with 3 eye options: blank, normal red, and the unique scanlines the Hyaku-Shiki sometimes had in the anime. I chose the scanlines of course (I couldn't find a gif of the red scanlines unfortunately).
Now I finally have the complete Gundam crew from the AEUG!!

And yes. The Hyaku-Shiki does count as a Gundam, as it was built from the same Mk-II Gundam parts as the Zeta. I will die on this hill.
Anyway if you're a Zeta fan I definitely recommend this kit.

Model kit update:
Finished Hyaku Shiki! It looks seriously sick and I had a lot of fun messing around with it but, uh, most of the pictures were terrible so
Still, this an amazing kit and I absolutely recommend it.
Also there are three different eye stickers and this is the one I went with cuz the scattered light looks awesome imo
Also started back up on the Dygenguar!!!
Honestly barely started it at all but I need to gush a little. That is not stickers. That is not paint. That is pure color separation with parts and it looks fucking FANTASTIC.
Also look at how freaking big that sword is (Aerial for scale)
Dygenguar is a big boy with a BIG stick.

I draw a pen doodle every day until I forget
Day 329: Quattro & Primal (Zeta Gundam) (Beast Wars)
The end of the little story I’ve had going for the last… god, 12 days? You can find the start of it here.
Anyways, after Lazorbeak was Cheetor-ed, he flies off into the sunset, smoking. With the last of the Predacons gone, Quattro Bajeena and Optimus Primal take a moment to relax, introduce themselves to each other, and fist bump for a job well done.
I also get to finally address the scale of Maximals compared to regular people, and Mobile Suits too. The Maximals are bigger than humans, but not by much. Mobile Suits are (on average) 60 feet tall, which is really big. It’s super fun to try to make that work in artwork! (My favorite example of it is 324.)
I have no real experience making a comic, or sequential story of any kind. So I wanted to make some sort of story to get it out of the way. I can only go up from here!

Yay I finally got to build another one of my favorite mobile suits!
The MG MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki is a little pricey because he is gold all over. If you like under gates then this is the kit for you because they are completely necessary. The result is a kit that is super beautiful as a straight build. It's a good build, my only problem is that I have no idea how he is supposed to hold the bazooka, it just doesn't fit in his arms. Also Gundam marker fans beware! They don't take well to the gold plastic at all. I wound up using a Pilot V5 ball pen. Honestly get this guy if you can afford because he is the shiniest mobile suit! I'm a fucking crow babey gimme da shiney.
