The Ultimate Pest Control Solution in Riverdale
Nestled in the vibrant community of Riverdale, residents enjoy a unique blend of urban living and green spaces. However, with the perks of city life come the challenges of pest control. Unwanted intruders can disrupt the tranquillity of homes and businesses. In this comprehensive guide, we unveil the ultimate pest control solution in Riverdale, offering residents effective strategies to safeguard their living spaces.
Identifying Common Pests in Riverdale:
Understanding the local pest landscape is the first step in effective pest control. Riverdale residents commonly encounter pests such as rodents, ants, cockroaches, and seasonal invaders like mosquitoes and wasps. Identifying the specific pests enables targeted and efficient removal methods.
Professional Pest Inspection:
A professional pest inspection is the cornerstone of any successful pest control strategy. Trained technicians can assess the extent of the infestation, identify entry points, and tailor a removal plan to the unique challenges presented by Riverdale's diverse environment.
Customized Pest Removal Plan:
Once pests are identified, a customized removal plan is crucial. Different pests require different approaches, and a one-size-fits-all solution is rarely effective. By tailoring the strategy to the specific pest infesting your home or business, you increase the likelihood of successful and long-lasting results.
Hygiene and Prevention Measures:
Maintaining high levels of hygiene is a powerful preventive measure against pests. Regular cleaning, proper waste disposal, and sealing food containers are effective ways to minimize attractants. Prevention is key to reducing the risk of re-infestation.
Sealing Entry Points:
Pests often find their way into homes and businesses through small cracks and openings. Regularly inspect your property for potential entry points and seal them using caulk or other appropriate materials. This simple step can significantly reduce the likelihood of pests gaining access.
Lawn and Garden Maintenance:
Riverdale's green spaces are an integral part of its charm, but they can also harbour pests. Regular lawn and garden maintenance, including trimming bushes, removing standing water, and keeping vegetation away from buildings, contribute to pest prevention.
Professional Pest Control Services:
For a comprehensive and lasting solution, consider enlisting the services of a professional pest control company in Riverdale. Trained experts can implement advanced treatments, such as targeted pesticide application and eco-friendly alternatives, ensuring thorough and effective pest removal.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM):
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a holistic approach that combines various strategies for long-term pest control. This method emphasizes proactive measures, monitoring, and utilizing a combination of chemical, biological, and physical controls to manage pests effectively.
Educational Resources for Residents:
Empowering residents with knowledge is an essential aspect of pest control. Riverdale can benefit from community workshops and educational resources that teach residents about the local pest species, their habits, and effective prevention measures.
Regular Inspections and Monitoring:
Prevention is ongoing, and regular inspections and monitoring are crucial components of an effective pest control strategy. Periodic checks for signs of pest activity and immediate intervention upon detection ensure early problem resolution.
Eco-Friendly Pest Control Options:
As environmental consciousness grows, eco-friendly pest control options gain popularity. Riverdale residents can explore natural and non-toxic alternatives, such as essential oils, diatomaceous earth, and biological controls, to mitigate the environmental impact of pest removal.
Community Collaboration:
Pest control is a collective effort. Riverdale residents can foster community collaboration by sharing information, experiences, and successful strategies. Establishing a network of support can lead to a more pest-resilient community.
Conclusion:
In the vibrant community of Riverdale, effective pest control is a shared responsibility. By combining professional services, preventive measures, and community engagement, residents can create a pest-free environment that enhances the quality of living in this picturesque neighbourhood. The ultimate pest control solution in Riverdale lies in a multifaceted and collaborative approach that addresses the unique challenges posed by the local environment.

<h1>Beef</h1>
This whole process takes place over the course of 28 to one hundred twenty days. There’s a candy spot in there of about 30 to 40 days, the place the maximum tenderness has been reached and the ideal growth of flavor has begun. This high definition beef flavor has been described as super-beefy, nutty, tacky, and/or gamey. Uber-connoisseurs extoll the virtues and complicated flavors present in extreme dry aging . Bluebloodsteakhouse.comThe Chef de Grille cooks on an infrared charbroiler after which finishes within the oven. We choose more char, and ask for a straight cook dinner on the grill. The latter perfectly enhances the robustness of the meat and its brittle texture enhances the softness. This is the best of Canada Beef, refined and lean, with a juicy beefy taste. difference between dry aged and wet aged If you're utilizing dry wood, inspecting your chimney often, its been installed to code and burning it correctly – then sure – they are protected to burn all evening. If you chimney is on the skin of your home, warm the flue earlier than lighting a hearth. Cool temperatures in the flue create more creosote. A good approach to warm the flue is to make a torch out of rolled up newspaper and hold the lit torch underneath the open damper till you're feeling the air warm and feel the draft reserve. Build scorching fires that burn effectively as a substitute of slow-burning, smoldering fires. I requested them whether may help to arrange prematurely put Happy Birthday wording on the plate, I wish to give her shock. I requested further butter, the waitress informed me is pre-prepared. When paying for the bill, I informed them that we needed to wait 1 hour for our mains & their reply was they depended on the chef. While the staff went to other tables to ask how was everything, I supposed they dared not ask the same of me. Our heritage hogs are grown with out antibiotics or synthetic hormones, on free-range pasture, with 100 percent organic feed. They reside a stress-free life with no cages or crowding. As a chef and coming from a household of restauranteurs who owned steakhouses in San Francisco since the 1940's I would quite not eat beef than eat poor quality beef. The USDA grading system is sweet though in latest times it is not as strong as up to now. Go to a reputable butcher and let them know that you want some very nice beef. For many individuals, the epitome of grilling is of the proper steak. Because our pigs are raised all-natural and free-range, we expect it has the best flavour you'll find wherever. I’d intended on serving the completely different steaks collectively to focus on some vague point about financial class distinctions in high quality or flavour. But the unintended, and more true, evidence of my class privilege is my view of the supermarket meat as a step down on the meals chain. I’m like the topics of considered one of Johnston’s studies, the youngsters of Riverdale who view it as a standing symbol to not eat at McDonald’s. PRIME steaks are the perfect in color, form, fat marbling and flavour. Carpenter additionally mentions that nice cuts are even harder to seek out in the Spring due to the cattle cycle and demand. Although you may not know it, wet aged beef is immensely extra widespread – the meat you buy within the store has more than likely been wet aged. Manufacturers select this route as a result of it's simpler and cheaper. When you look at it scientifically, dry growing older may be very controlled decomposition achieved via exposing untreated beef to very exact temperatures and humidity. This therapy is completed with larger cuts of meat before being minimize into steaks or roasts. This is as a result of of a lack of general meat quantity as a end result of the outer layers of beef have to be carefully cut away. “Mrs. Lodge.” The guards greeted you as you made your way down the cell block to where Hiram was stationed, you could practically feel his fury from the end of the hall. He was absolutely raging.
Good.
You made your way down the hall, ignoring all other prisoners; drunks, addicts and petty criminals as you made your way down to the true villain in this prison block. Your beloved husband.
He was shirtless and still bloody from his fight with Archie, you smiled to yourself as you approached the cell.
“Hello lover.” You smiled, and watched as Hiram turned to face you.
“Y/N.” He said with a look of surprise. “What are you doing here?”
You didn’t answer him as you gestured for the guard closest to you to walk over.
“Unlock this please. I want to speak with my husband.” You said sweetly.
“That’s against protocol, miss.”
You rolled your eyes and opened your purse, pulling out a crisp hundred dollar bill. “Twenty minutes alone with my husband and you’ll get another one when I’m finished.”
The guard said nothing as he unlocked the door and let you in before taking the bill and locking the door behind you. “Twenty minutes.” He said gruffly.
“Amore. What are you doing here?” Hiram asked as he came closer to you, and was about to wrap you in his embrace when you put your hands on his bare chest. You let out a little hum of appreciation at the hot, muscle pressed under your fingertips but kept him just a breath away from your body.
You smiled again unable to help yourself at the confusion on Hiram’s face. “I wanted to see you. I wanted to see you locked in this cage, the cage I put you in.” You smiled, leaning in to just brush your lips against his, before you pulled away and saw his face. He was pissed.
“You?” He asked his eyebrows furrowing.
“Yes. You’re doting-” you paused before brushing another kiss across his lips. “And sweet wife. Who knew you couldn’t resist picking a fight with that stupid ginger fuck.” You laughed harshly. “It was just an added bonus that you had to go an make a spectacle of it all, you’re so fucking predictable Hiram.” You hissed against his lips before yanking harshly on his hair, pulling his face completely away from yours, your long nails digging into his scalp, earning a growl from Hiram.
“Why?” He growled.
You let out a small sigh. “Get on your knees. You commanded as your dug your nails harder into Hiram’s scalp.
Hiram said nothing and didn’t fight you as you pushed him down to his knees. He looked up at you his chocolate eyes filled with rage and it made you feel so powerful having him on his knees before you, even as he’s seething with anger.
“I put up with a lot of your shit Hiram. I don’t care about the drugs, the clubs, the prison, all your underhanded shit.” You chuckled. “Or even the extortion of juveniles fighting in your underground wanna be fight club. No, what I care about and the reason why I put you here is because I know you’ve been fucking someone else.” You practically growled the last part at him. “I know you’ve been fucking that bitch behind my back, and I won’t stand for what is mine to be in someone else’s bed.”
“It was just business, nothing happened.” He growled.
“Don’t fucking lie to me Hiram. I know everything about you and that bitch. How you’d meet at the maple club or at her place. You belong in my bed and only my bed. This punishment is so you never forget that.” You released your grip on his hair and soothed his scalp, before grabbing his hair again and lifting your leg to place the pointed heel of your shoe on his bare shoulder, showing Hiram that you wore nothing underneath your tight little skirt and the other part of his punishment.”
Hiram hissed as your heel dug into his bare shoulder, but licked his lips as he took in your glistening cunt and understood the next part of his punishment.
“You’ll be released from here in a couple of days, but until then I want you to think about what you did, really think about it and how you plan to make amends for your wrong doings.” You said softly stroking his hair once again, before pressing his face into your pussy.
You let out a low moan as Hiram wasted no time and flattened his tongue, licking up your folds, suckling on your clit making you buck and your heel dug further into Hiram’s shoulder earning a groan from him as he suckled you’re clit. You felt his large hands grip the back of your thighs so he could bury his tongue deeper inside you and you let out a low moan, pleased with how good his repentance was going so far. You stroked Hiram’s hair lovingly now as he continued to eat you up, his tongue diving into your center before licking back up your folds and circling your clit.
“You’re mine Hiram Lodge. And don’t you forget it.” You said and felt Hiram nod, humming his agreement against your folds. You pulled his hair again taking him away from your center so he can look up at your face, you watched him lick his lips.
“I want to hear you say it. And then you can finish what you started.”
“I’m yours Y/N.” He said lovingly as he stroked the back of your thighs. “Only yours.”
“Good boy.” You purred before placing his head back between your legs, groaning as you felt his hot tongue circle your clit again and eventually bringing you over the edge. With good timing too, since your twenty minutes were up by the time you righted your skirt.
“Your twenty minutes are up.” The guard said as he unlocked the cell.
You inspected the small gash on Hiram’s shoulder from your heel, before brushing your lips against his, tasting yourself on his lips. “I’ll see you when you get home in a few days. Until then think about what we discussed.”

Johnny Lawrence and the Five Love Languages, Chapter Five: Words of Affirmation
Johnny yanked open his closet door, eyes searching the sparse offerings, brow furrowed. Behind him, Miguel shifted his weight onto his other foot, face similarly focused, eyes critically searching the clothes.
“He knows what kind of clothes you wear, Sensei,” he started hopefully. “I don’t think you need to –”
“So you’re just going to wear whatever, then?” he asked, his tone vaguely snappy, and Miguel pursed his lips. “You and I are both under the microscope, Diaz,” he said, turning back to the closet. “And I am always worse upon closer inspection.”
“Sensei, don’t be ridiculous,” Miguel reassured, dropping a hand to Johnny’s shoulder. “He wouldn’t have invited you if he didn’t like you.”
Which, fine, Johnny could accept that idea, but that didn’t make him feel any less nervous. It certainly didn’t answer the question of what he should wear to this ill-advised get together that he’d been invited to. He was reminded, far too often, of his first date with Ali, where they spent the whole night dancing around the idea of their first kiss, only to chicken out and then not, ultimately ruining the romance the first kiss deserved.
In the months following, they laughed about that story like it was charming, but it always seemed weird to Johnny. Even now, years later, that was still an indicator of what overthinking could do, and now that he and LaRusso had been interrupted not once but twice, he had to wonder if the actual act would live up to the anticipation.
“You and Miguel should come to dinner at my place,” Daniel had said over the phone, the tone of his voice alone telling Johnny that he was smiling. “Robby, Sam, and Anthony will be here.”
“What, like a –” he caught himself before the word ‘date’ could come out, but the silence on the other end of the line told him that Daniel was waiting for him to finish the sentence. Stubbornly, he stayed quiet, Miguel, on his couch, looked at him in confusion.
“Who is it?” he had mouthed, waving his arms to get Johnny’s attention.
“It can be whatever you want it to be, John,” Daniel said into the silence that showed no signs of abating. “Will you come?”
Johnny snapped his jaw shut where it had fallen open against his will. He wasn’t sure when he started to notice the innuendo in some of the things Daniel said, but now that he was aware of it, talking to the man was far more difficult.
 “Johnny?”
“Sensei, why is your face red?”
“When?” he asked into the phone, noticing as he spoke how rough his voice sounded. He cleared his throat.
He could hear Daniel smiling again. “Tomorrow? 7.”
“You free tomorrow at 7?” he asked Miguel, who looked at him with wide, confused eyes.
“We’ll be there,” he said, shushing Miguel with a hand, eyes on the coffee table, listening for Daniel’s response.
“Good,” Daniel said, satisfied. “It’s a date.”
He hung up before Johnny could respond, but he kept the phone to his ear, spluttering, while Miguel stared at him with a half-smile.
And now they were here, Johnny quickly realizing that he was probably going to need a beer before he even got to LaRusso’s place if he wanted to keep his cool. Miguel impatiently nudged him out of the way and started flicking through the shirts, making noises under his breath that he couldn’t decipher. Most of them seemed confused, but there were a few scoffs of disbelief in there, too.
Maybe Johnny should go into his closet and do the same thing, see how the little twerp liked it.
“Here, wear this one,” Miguel finally said, pulling a baby blue shirt out of the back of Johnny’s closet, so old he’d forgotten it was even there. “It’ll bring out your eyes.”
“What am I, a girl?” Johnny asked, taking the hanger anyway.
Miguel chuckled. “No, but you’re in looooooooove,” he drew the word out, dodging the shirt that Johnny threw at him, trotting down the hallway back to the living room.
“Get out of my house, Diaz,” Johnny called after him, the boy’s laughter as good a response as he was going to get.
 ***
“Dad, I made you some tea,” Sam gently set the cup on the edge of the coffee table, catching Daniel’s eyes on her way back up. “Chamomile.”
He smiled at his daughter and took the cup. “That’s so nice, sweetie, you didn’t have to do that,” he said, taking a shallow sip of the still-too-hot tea.
“I did,” she laughed. “You’ve been staring into space for like…half an hour. Figured you needed something to calm you down.”
“Calm me down?” he asked. “I am calm!”
She raised her eyebrows. “Sure, and your leg is tapping like that because…?”
He looked down at his jumping leg and put a hand over it. “Habit,” he said with a shrug.
“Dad,” she took the tea cup from his hands and sat on the edge of the coffee table. “Sensei Lawrence is coming here. For a date.”
 He laughed nervously. “It’s not a –”
“I can literally hear all of your phone conversations,” she interrupted with a stern look that reminded him so much of himself. “You’re allowed to be nervous.”
“Did I tell you that I invited Miguel, too?” he asked.
“No!” she jumped up from her spot. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
 “I forgot!”
“I’m going on a double date with my dad and his arch nemesis,” she buried her face in her hands. “I can’t believe this.” She snatched his cup of tea off the table. “I need this more than you do now,” she said firmly, taking a long drink before stalking off, shutting her bedroom door solidly behind her.
Daniel understood how she felt. Was it good to be nervous? Was that a bad sign? He couldn’t figure it out, and the longer he sat there, thinking about it, the closer the clock inched toward 7. He thought about Johnny, leaning on him on the surfboard in the middle of the night, head cradled by his arm. He thought about Robby, excited about the possibility of living with his father after sixteen years without him.
He thought about Johnny under the stream of the shower, chest rising and falling under his hand, eyes clouded, deep in thought.
They’d almost kissed twice – why was he nervous about the idea of a date?
“Dad, I’m hungry,” Anthony whined, his voice shocking Daniel violently out of his thoughts.
“I’m cooking dinner,” Daniel called out, knowing that his son was going to grab some junk food out of the pantry anyway and stalk back up to his room. Amanda was the one who was better at curbing Anthony’s impulsive choices – Amanda, who was in Malibu visiting her parents to tell them about their divorce.
“Sensei Lawrence is coming to dinner, right?” Anthony asked from behind him, his mouth full. Daniel struggled not to roll his eyes. Trust his son to be predictable.
“Yes, he is,” he answered, turning in his seat to see his son completely. “Be nice.”
 “I’m always nice.”
“I seem to remember you telling Johnny that I would kill him,” Daniel recounted. Anthony grinned.
“That was me being nice,” he said, rummaging in the bag of cheese puffs. “It was a warning.”
“Be nicer, please,” Daniel pleaded, but he was almost smiling.
Anthony shrugged. “I’m just trying to protect you, Dad. What if he takes your heart and karate chops it into little pieces?”
Daniel squinted at him, suspicious. “Quit watching CW shows on Netflix.”
“Tell Sam to stop watching Riverdale,” Anthony said, still unbothered.
“Leave the cheese puffs in the kitchen, please,” he called, but Anthony was already halfway up the stairs, the cheese puffs still clutched in his fist.
 ***
“If you’re worried about the first kiss, why don’t you just get it over with?” Miguel asked, safely buckled into the front seat of Johnny’s Challenger, flipping through Johnny’s tapes. “Do it first thing.”
“I didn’t – I didn’t say I was,” Johnny stammered, hands white on the steering wheel. “You said I was.”
Miguel shrugged. “You’re easy to read, Sensei.”
 “Shut up, no I’m not.”
Miguel didn’t look up from the tapes, his finger tapping on top of Guns ‘n’ Roses. “Then why is your face red?”
“Are you going to play music or are we going to talk about our girly feelings for the whole drive?”
Miguel pulled free the tape and turned up the volume, leaving Johnny to marinate in his thoughts. As much as he wished he didn’t, Miguel had a point. Would he be able to sit through an entire dinner while he overthought everything that would come after? Would he be able to make the same mistake he made with Ali?
He was still thinking about it when they pulled up to Daniel’s house and turned off the car. Miguel led the way to the front door, but Johnny could see the lights sparkling on the terrace, near the pool. The table was set and ready for them, the lighting dark and romantic. It seemed almost too pristine for something that was supposed to include him.
Miguel looked back at him, almost on the doorstep.
“You alright?” he asked, and Johnny so clearly saw himself, a teenager again, standing on Ali’s doorstep, nervously waiting to be scrutinized by her rich parents, all the while knowing they thought he was more like them than he could ever be. Yet here was Miguel, standing bravely on the doorstep, in a red flannel shirt and jeans, asking if the grown man was okay.
“I’m fine, Diaz,” he choked out, and Miguel raised his eyebrows at him like he didn’t really believe it and rang the doorbell.
Sam answered the door, in a yellow dress that Miguel immediately complimented, slipping an arm around her shoulders for a sneaky hug that he managed to get away with before Daniel appeared beside her, sleeves rolled up toward his elbows, a smile already on his face.
He stepped aside to let Miguel through, offering him a hand to shake that Miguel took easily, and damn, when did that kid get so comfortable in his own skin? Johnny envied him – he wished he didn’t feel like such a kid when Daniel was around.
“Johnny?” He pulled himself out of his thoughts to find Daniel looking at him curiously, the light of his home behind him illuminating him around the edges. Johnny felt curiously like he was looking at a painting from a museum he’d never think to go into. “Are you coming inside?”
Why don’t you just get it over with?
He reached out for Daniel, pleased when the man offered his hand without question, and yanked him out the front door and onto the porch.
 “What the hell –”
He stumbled farther than Johnny imagined he would, and he caught him against his chest, one hand steadying Daniel around the waist. When Daniel looked up at him, confused and indignant, Johnny slipped his other hand around the back of his head and pulled him in for a kiss that no one had enough time to interrupt because if someone interrupted him a third time, he was going to have to throw all of their children and surrogate children into the pool.
Daniel made a confused sound against his lips, but his hands were clenched tightly in the fabric of Johnny’s shirt, pliant in his arms. Johnny pulled away long enough to see Miguel walking by, who gave him a wide-eyed thumbs up as he eased the front door closed. He rolled his eyes and let Daniel pull him in for another kiss, this one breathless and desperate and not at all like a first kiss.
He had to force himself to pull away because he was maddeningly aware that the longer they were gone, the more likely it was that they would be interrupted. Daniel was grinning when he pulled back, all teeth and Jersey pomp, his eyes still closed, and Johnny wished he had done this thirty years ago instead of knocking the kid into the sand. They could have had thirty more years.
“Does that mean you’re coming inside?” Daniel asked, his voice so soft it didn’t even sound like him, and Johnny tilted his head back to plant a kiss on his throat, backing him up so he was against the wall, the mostly closed front door on his left, the light from the kitchen barely illuminating them, the sound of their children a delicate soundtrack.
“In a minute,” Johnny said, lips still on Daniel’s neck, and Daniel exhaled a shaky breath, dropping one of his hands to Johnny’s forearm, like he needed to be stabilized.
“Take your time,” Daniel replied, head tilted back to the wall, eyes closed. Johnny pulled back for a moment to take him in, still perfect hair, slightly darker lips, face arranged in an expression he never thought he’d get to see, dazed and happy.
He pulled him back in, taking great care to run his fingers through Daniel’s hair, feeling rather than seeing the mess of it he was making, Daniel groaning against his lips, thoroughly distracted. Johnny could get used to this – kissing the man to distraction. He made a brief mental note to thank Diaz for the idea later.
And then Daniel was turning him around so he was pressed to the brick instead and all thoughts of Miguel went out of the window.
 ***
“Where did my dad go?” Sam asked, her eyes searching the empty kitchen. “He never leaves the kitchen while he’s cooking.”
Miguel watched her eyes go to the slightly open front door and linger. He could see the wheels turning there. After a moment’s awkward silence, she gasped.
 “No way.”
“Maybe don’t go out there looking for him,” Miguel said with a laugh, slipping his arm around her shoulders while he could.
“Oh my god,” he thought she was angry for a moment, and then he looked down at her, and they both started giggling. “Thank God that finally happened.”
“Thank God what finally happened?” Robby asked, offering a fist for Miguel to bump.
“My dad and your dad are totally making out outside,” Sam said, loud enough that Anthony, sitting in front of the television, turned around to join the conversation.
“Ugh, Sam, too much information,” Robby groaned, but he grinned anyway. “So which one of us wins the bet?”
“Bet?” Miguel asked, looking between them.
“Well, I bet that they would avoid their feelings forever,” Sam said, counting them off on her fingers, “Robby bet that they were already hooking up, which, gross,” Robby shrugged. “And Anthony bet –”
“I bet they’d do some dramatic confessing after dinner,” Anthony grumbled. “So none of us win.”
“If I’m the one who told Sensei Lawrence to do…” Miguel faltered, trying to find the right word, “what he’s doing…does that mean I win?”
Sam gaped at him, eyes wide. “Wh – what? What did you do?”
He shrugged. “I gave him some advice. You know, strike first or whatever,” Miguel laughed.
“He doesn’t win!” Anthony whined. “He didn’t bet!”
 “Didn’t bet what?”
All four kids went still, frozen like they’d been doing something far worse than having a conversation. Miguel was the first one of them to turn around, trying to keep the smile off his face. Johnny’s barely concealed smirk told him he wasn’t being as sneaky as he thought he was.
“Nothing, Sensei,” he said, shoving his hands in his pockets.
“Are you kids gambling?” Daniel asked, his voice teasing.
“If I say yes will you fix your hair, please?” Sam asked, hiding a laugh behind her hand.
“What’s wrong with my hair?” Daniel asked, a hand already rising to smooth it back down.
“Nothing,” Johnny said hurriedly, biting back a grin. “Nothing, it’s fine.”
“It looks like sex hair,” Anthony half-shouted from his place on the couch.
The room went silent. Johnny looked over to Daniel, who looked momentarily horrified before he just closed his eyes and started laughing. The rest of the room looked at each other, Johnny trying to hide a self-satisfied smirk before Daniel shoved him, playful and embarrassed, and everyone else started laughing.
 ***
Dinner started out surprisingly successful – Daniel had always expected this dinner to be awkward, with Miguel and Robby at the same table, himself and Johnny watching their kids stumble through conversation, Anthony being antagonistic, as only he could be.
But Miguel and Robby were fine, chatting amiably while Sam sat between them, happy and at ease. Anthony had his own comments to make, but Johnny handled him nicely, and even he had to admit that he was amused by Johnny’s newest nemesis. When he realized he was losing whatever conversational battle he and Johnny were currently entangled in, he switched to his usual home run shot:
“My dad could kill you,” he said, but it didn’t have the venom it usually did, when he was saying it to people who might actually believe him.
Johnny rolled his eyes. “Your dad is too much of a good guy to actually kill me.”
Anthony shook his head. “He could still do it. He was a Cobra Kai once.”
“Anthony!” Sam admonished from across the table. Daniel felt his limbs go numb.
“No he wasn’t,” Johnny laughed, his eyes sliding from Daniel’s son to Daniel himself. Daniel, who felt the blood drain from his face the longer Johnny looked at him. Johnny stared, mouth slightly open. “You weren’t. Right?”
“Maybe we should go –” Sam was halfway out of her chair already.
“No, Sam, it’s fine,” Daniel reassured her. “It’s – it wasn’t a big deal. I didn’t join Cobra Kai, I trained for a little bit with one of Cobra Kai’s…senseis.”
“So you joined Cobra Kai,” Johnny finished. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Cobra Kai wasn’t around at the time,” Daniel pointed out. “The guy told me he was Kreese’s sensei, that Kreese was dead, all of that nonsense, and I needed someone to train with for the ’85 All Valley, so –”
 “What about –”
“Mr. Miyagi didn’t want me to compete. But I was…” he struggled to find the right word.
“Blackmailed,” Sam supplied helpfully. “He was blackmailed into competing. Some guy threatened to beat him within an inch of his life every day if he didn’t.”
“And I needed a trainer,” Daniel finished with a heavy sigh, his eyes on the table.
“You didn’t tell me you were blackmailed,” Anthony piped up indignantly from the other end of the table.
“Anthony only thinks Dad joined Cobra Kai because he found the gi in a box one day,” Sam added, eyes on Johnny. “Dad doesn’t…” she looked over at her dad, and then back to him. “Dad doesn’t like to talk about it.”
Johnny nodded, tightening his jaw. Daniel could see him trying to decide what to do, how to move forward with their kids watching.
“Then we won’t talk about it,” he said firmly, turning back to his food. He caught Daniel’s gaze and gave him a wan smile. Daniel didn’t know what to make of it.
He still wasn’t sure what to make of it when dinner was done, and Sam met him at the counter with dishes, muttering that she was going to take Robby, Miguel, and Anthony to Golf ‘n’ Stuff for a little while, knowing that she was trying to give him the privacy to talk to Johnny without any interruptions. He thought about telling her not to; he didn’t want to tell the story, definitely didn’t want to see Johnny’s reaction. Having the kids as a buffer might be good.
“If you really like him, you’re going to have to tell him eventually,” she said when he didn’t answer, clasping his arm for a moment before ushering everyone outside and into her car.
He didn’t have to listen hard to hear Johnny’s careful approach. He didn’t have to look to know what he was doing – leaning against the counter, hands in his pockets, eyes on his feet.
“We still don’t have to talk about it,” he said, and Daniel felt a surge of affection for him that almost knocked him off balance.
“But you want to know,” Daniel said wearily, grabbing a kitchen towel to dry his hands, turning around to see Johnny completely. He could still see the wrinkles in his shirt where his hands had been clenched earlier.
“Of course I do, LaRusso,” Johnny said. “But I’m not going to force you to tell me.”
Daniel shrugged. “You already know most of it. Kreese told Terry Silver to make me bleed, to make me suffer for ruining Cobra Kai. And then Kreese appeared, back from the dead, and,” he shrugged, trying to fight the urge to turn away from Johnny’s horrified gaze, “tried to kill me. Typical Kreese.”
“He made you bleed.” It wasn’t a question.
Daniel held out his hands, knuckles marred with thin scars from the wood. “He succeeded.”
Johnny took his hands in his own, eyes on the scars. Daniel could feel him shaking with anger. He looked up to his face, tight and stern, the very image of a terrifying fighter. “I know where he lives,” he said, his eyes rising to find Daniel’s. “Kreese.”
“John, don’t,” Daniel pulled his hands back. “It’s not worth it.”
Johnny scoffed, pushing himself off from the counter, where he was still leaning, to cage Daniel in with his arms. “It is worth it,” he insisted. “He shouldn’t have blamed you because we left.”
Daniel shrugged, and Johnny made a disapproving noise.
“That’s why you hated Cobra Kai so much when I brought it back,” Johnny said thoughtfully. He paused, worrying his bottom lip between his teeth. “I don’t blame you.” He brought one hand up to gently trace the line of Daniel’s jaw. “You didn’t need Terry Silver,” he said. “You’ve always been a great fighter.”
Daniel stared at him, trying to think of something to say, coming up empty.
“Terry and Kreese might have made you bleed, but they couldn’t really break you,” he continued, surveying Daniel’s face while still managing to avoid eye contact. “You’re too stubborn for that.”
Daniel managed a weak laugh, the sound of which relaxed the tense lines of Johnny’s face. “Jersey tough,” he said quietly, and Johnny finally met his gaze, blue eyes full of something Daniel couldn’t really identify. It was painfully soft, overwhelming to look at for too long.
“Yeah you are,” Johnny said softly.
He pulled him in for a kiss instead of saying something else, frustrated with his son for making tonight too serious, wishing fervently that he could go back to the front step, before they had to discuss their pasts, before Johnny had to fluster him with pretty words.
Johnny lifted him, like he weighed nothing, onto the counter, and dropped his hands to Daniel’s thighs, clearly deciding that he was going to kiss all of his seriousness away. Daniel let him, content to be pulled along by the sensation of his hands, of his lips. But this was unhurried, unlike their time outside the front door, exploratory, a different kind of intoxicating.
Johnny pulled back, just far enough that Daniel became aware that he was taller than him this way, blue eyes gazing up at him, sparkling in the light.
And then he sighed, almost like he was exasperated, even while he still looked at him with a fond smile, and pulled him back to his mouth.
“I love you,” he said against Daniel’s lips, so quiet that Daniel could almost pretend he hadn’t said it at all.
But he clutched him tighter, holding onto him fiercely, just in case he was thinking of backing away, of hiding. He could feel Johnny laugh against his mouth, the laugh almost a sob, and kissed him deeper, communicating what he was always too afraid to say.
 “I love you too.”

Upside Down Chapter 13
Pairing: Sweet Pea x Reader
Summary: You don’t know much about Sweet Pea, except for what you hear in the hallways around school. You pass him on your way to and from classes and you’ve perhaps brushed his arm a hand full of times. You don’t know him and he doesn’t know you.
That is until you save his baby sister from the Ghoulies all while simultaneously getting involved in a world you want nothing to do with and events you would rather stay out of.
Too bad the Ghoulies have other ideas…

Chapter 13: Girl Meets Terror
Fear. Fear can do a lot to people, especially in a place where fear rules the world. In the town of Riverdale the Northside and Southside may as well have been different worlds. News of the Blackhood had spread to the Southside, moreso, news that the Northside thinks someone in the Southside is actually the Blackhood. Sometimes living in Riverdale is like living the plot of a bad movie, where even when you are innocent... you are guilty. In the end… it all comes down to one thing...Fear.
Gazing at Sweet Pea’s black eye you just shake your head.
“What does Monty look like?” you question with a barely there smirk.
He smirks back, “Way worse…”
You roll your eyes as you sit down in your usual seat. A moment later when Jughead Jones walks into the room you whip your head towards him in complete confusion.
“Umm… Jughead… I think you’re in the wrong school…”
“Oh… right…. I forgot to tell you…I go to this school now,” he says looking around distracted by how different everything is.
“Well thanks for telling me… When did that happen?”
“Today?”
“You know what I mean…” you say in exasperation.
A moment later your teacher walks into the room and starts the lesson.
“Fahrenheit 451, by one of my favorite authors, Ray Bradbury. Start with the title, can anyone tell me it’s significance?”
“WHAT? Damnit!” yells Sweet Pea as he kicks the chair out of his way and storms out of the room.
You just roll your eyes and ignore his outburst like the rest of the class. Perhaps you are getting a little too used to it?
“People… there is a burning book on the cover,” you teacher says sounding exasperated, you aren’t sure if it’s from Sweet Pea’s outburst or the silence in the room.
Jughead squeezes his eyes shut in annoyance at the silence before he says, “Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature at which paper burns. It was a pleasure to burn.”
“Good job Mr. Jones... Welcome to hell.”
Jughead glances over at you before a paper wad is thrown at him. You just shrug and mouth ‘keep your head down.’ He frowns at you before he turns back to the front of the room.
When the bell at the end of class rings you rush off to find Sweet Pea when Jughead waves you off telling you he’s going to talk to the teacher about opening up the Red and Black again.
Walking down the hallway you see Sweet Pea leaning against your locker waiting for you.
“Take care of business?” you ask as you join him.
“You know it,” he says with a sigh as he leans back against the locker, his head falling back with a metallic thud.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Don’t lie to me…”
“Just not sure how I feel about that Jones’ kid being here that’s all.”
“Why is that?”
He just shrugs in a non committal way.
“This isn’t about…”
“No.”
“Okay… but be nice to him okay? He’s my friend and he’s obviously been through alot.”
He rolls his eyes as he seems to physically pull himself from the locker.
“Whatever… Second period is going to suck…”
“Did you do the homework?”
“We had homework?”
“Toni didn’t tell you?”
“Would I have done it?”
“No…”
“Then why would she have told me?”
“I don’t know Pea… that was a mistake on my part… sorry…” you with sarcasm as you hold your hands up in a surrender pose.
The two of you head off down the hallway to class and end up having a relatively peaceful day, all things considered.
Sweets: Ready to go to the quarry?
You: Sure! Do we have backup this time??
Sweets: Yeah… a bunch of guys are going
You: Sounds good! Did you invite Jughead?
Sweets: He doesn’t want to go.
You: Did you actually ask him?
Sweets: YES! And he doesn’t want to go. He’s so fucking ungrateful!
You: Ungrateful?
Sweets: Yeah ungrateful.
It’s at that moment you see Sweet Pea coming down the hallway and put your phone in your pocket.
“How is he ungrateful?” you ask picking up the conversation where you left off.
“He asked the Serpents for help with his dad and now he thinks he can just throw us to the side now that he has what he needs.”
“Why would he ask the Serpents for help?”
“He’s FP Jones’ kid…”
“Okay…”
“The Serpent King.”
“Does he have a crown?”
Sweet Pea turns to looks at you in annoyance and you just hold your hands up in surrender.
“Sorry I asked…”
“It just pisses me off because he’s treated like some kind of prince and he doesn’t even want to have shit to do with us. Like we’re some kind of embarrassment.”
“It probably has less to do with the Serpents and more to do with his dad…”
“Whatever.”
“Okay well… The quarry sounds nice today.”
“Sure.”
“So much attitude and so little time…”
He rolls his eyes at you but smirks anyway. It would be the first time that you are really hanging out with everyone after what happened a week or so ago. You couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. You try to shake the feelings off as you make your way to your locker. Sweet Pea leans against the locker next to yours as you open the door and you take a tiny jump back as something falls to the floor. Sweet Pea looks down at the small square that is on the floor and furrows his brows in confusion and concern. You reach down to pick it up and inspect the outside of the red paper in your hands. You open the paper and a chill runs down your spine. Written in a black bold sharpie are the words “YOUR NEXT PRINCESS.”
Sweet Pea grabs the paper out of your hands and crumbles it up.
“This isn’t fuckin’ funny,” he says with barely contained rage.
“I’m sure it’s just a prank Pea…” you mutter but can’t keep the trimmer out of your voice.
“I don’t care. We’re showing the others.”
You just nod as you follow him down the hallway.
You get to the quarry and Sweet Pea wastes no time in gathering the others.
“We have a threat against (Y/N),” he says as he throws the note down on the ground.
“You think it’s that Black Hood guy?” Questions Fangs as he picks up the note to look at it.
“Probably not…” says Toni popping her gum, “They didn’t even use the right ‘you’re’, it’s probably just a Ghoulie.”
“Should we care though?” questions a Serpent you didn’t know, “I mean… she’s not an official Serpent and she’s caused plenty of trouble.
“What did you say?” questions Sweet Pea with a dangerous tone.
“You heard me dude… that fight between you and Monty will have consequences.”
“Just because you’re up her ass doesn't mean we have to be…” interjects another.
“Seriously guys? She’s Serpent by association now. Besides… you all know that was Monty’s shit not hers!” chimes in Tori a chorus of ‘yeahs’ going up from several members.
“Whatever… I’m not getting involved with her shit… between her and Jones we’ve done enough charity work for one year.” With that several members turn and walk away leaving you and your friends.
Sweet Pea turns to you a moment later, “Don’t worry Babydoll, you’re going to be fine.”
You look up at him not sure if you will be for the first time since you met him.
“You know you haven’t hung out with Gumdrop in a while, want to go home and chill for the day?”
You just nod, the reaction from the other Serpents confirming your fears and making you feel self conscience and scared.
You’ve never really talked with Sweet Pea about your anxiety, but it is getting the better of you today. You’re in a daze as you sit at the kitchen table with Gumdrop to your left. A variety of paints sit between the two of you, but you just gaze down at the white paper before you.
“Are you okay?” Gumdrop asks quietly shaking you from your revery.
You glance up at her startled from your thoughts and just send her a small smile and a nod.
“It’s okay if you’re scared… but big brother won’t let anything happen to you. He loves you too much for that.”
“Gumdrop you ready for dinner?” Sweet Pea interrupts. You can see the slight blush on his face as he avoids your eyes obviously hearing what his little sister said.
You smile softly at the thought of Sweet Pea loving you, “Need help Pea?”
He glances over at you but shakes his head ‘no.’ You just nod in acceptance before picking up a paint brush and starting to put down color. You barely acknowledge when a plate of spaghetti is set down beside you and Sweet Pea drops into the chair across from you. It’s silent in the small kitchen for several moments as you finish your painting. A vision of colors dance on the page in various tones of blues, teals and greens with a splash of silver as the moon. In black pen you outline two figures standing front of the water.
“I’m taking the note to the leaders. You’re not going to deal with this by yourself.”
You glance up to see an intense look on his face.
“I should tell my parents…” you say softly as you take a bite of the food beside you absentmindedly.
He nods as he continues to look at you with that intense look, “You know I’m not letting anything happen to you right?”
“I know Pea… It’s going to be okay…” you say to yourself as you gaze down at the picture.
“I just haven’t seen you this scared in a while.”
“It’s anxiety… Sometimes it just hits harder than others and I’m plagued with these obsessive thoughts. Like I can’t stop seeing that note. It’s honestly so hard to focus and I’m practically vibrating with effort right now. My chest feels tight and my head won’t stop and I know if I let it… it’s going to be a full blown panic attack.”
“What do you need?” he asks his voice tight with repressed fear masked with concern.
“Quiet… and reassurance.”
He just nods as he looks at you.
“I’m scared he’s going to come for Sweet Pea…”
“Who? The Black Hood? Let him try.”
Looking up into Sweet Pea’s eyes you see the vindication there, and for the first time in hours you feel truly safe.

A Simple Guide to Garage Door Repair
Your garage door may just be one of the many access points to your home, but it can absolutely do a lot beyond that. It can improve the value and look of your home, increase your garage uses, take care of the items stored in your garage, and make your garage the safest place to be for your vehicle. That is why it is important to keep it always in good condition. However, just like the other access points in your home such as your back door and front door, it can also get damaged after some time. When this happens, you should take immediate action to repair it. Otherwise, theft, inconveniences, accidents and other unfortunate events may arise solely because you fail to repair your broken door right away. Garage door repair may not be as complicated as you think. Even if you are not mechanically inclined, you can perform the task yourself. Begin by knowing what the problem is. Is it a garage door that won't open or close a door that falls after releasing, or a door that sticks when closing or opening? If it's won't open or close, simply inspect on the keypad to see if the garage door opener is functioning. If it's the cause, all you need to do is to reprogram the opener. Next, if the garage door sticks when opening or closing, check on the hinges and metal rollers. They may just need lubricating. Also, check on the tracks and see if they are clogged or dirty. If they are, try cleaning the tracks with a normal household cleaning liquid and then lubricate them afterwards. Lastly, if the door falls after releasing, it could be due to worn extension springs. If that is the case, simply replace your garage door springs with new one. Those three mentioned above are among the most common garage door problems. If you will notice, the two main parts that could be the main culprits of your door failing to function properly are the tracks and the springs. The tracks, for one, play a vital role in the closing or opening mechanism of your door. To hold them in place, metal brackets are used. Now, when your door stops working, check on these brackets to see if they are loose. If they are, slowly tighten the bolts or screws. But if not, take a look at the tracks themselves because they might be bent, dented, or knocked out of shape. To resolve this, try knocking the tracks back into shape by using a mallet. But if this does not work, you better get replacement. As for the springs, the solution varies on the type of spring used. Often times, resolving spring problems just lie mainly on doing some adjustments. But if your door uses a torsion spring, better employ a door repair professional because you could get yourself severely injured when you try to resolve it the wrong way. Garage door repair is really something that should not be ignored. So be sure to keep this simple garage door repair guide in mind.

Theme one: Soulmates
Sweet Pea x OC
Deep Hues
Everyone starts off as a blank slate. As they go through life, they are touched by those who are important to them. Their soulmate’s touch will be the most opaque of these. Familial relationships have an outline, while platonic soulmates will be opaque with an outline.
Leo Lauree was a highly decorated individual. He was a 6’6 man whose dark skin carried a variety of different tones, some showing up better than others. His best friend’s hands had left baby blue splotches over his arms. His mother’s hands dipped onto his forehead from his hairline. His father’s handprints encased his cheeks in a bright auburn tone, while his grandmas left pink and magenta colors over his ears.
Sweet Pea wasn’t as lucky. Of course he had some colors over him, but they could only be seen if he were wearing a tank top. They were few, but important to him. He constantly got tattoos to make up for this his lack of color, the artist creating line art that he hoped to have filled with colors of love one day.
Sweet Pea is walking down the sidewalk of the local outlet strip, when a door smacks him in the face.
“Oh fuck!”
“Oh! I’m so sorry!” Soon there were hands on his face and arms, pulling him up. As soon as the person’s skin touches his, he recoils slightly, a burning sensation left behind as he takes their hand and yanks it off
Leo steps back, holding his hand to his chest. A brilliant gold starts to spread over where the stranger had touched him. He looks up to see a glittering gold and turquoise seeping into the nose and hand of the other man. His heart picks up as he looks him over, a warmth spreading over his body and a smile appearing on his face.
Sweet Pea looks over at at the man to see the gold on his hand. His eyes widen.
“Shit” he starts to back up slowly, before running to his bike and riding off.
Leo’s hand stays outstretched for a moment, before it drops sadly, his smile with it.
-
Sweet Pea scrambles off his bike into his trailer, past Fangs at the table and to his bathroom, inspecting the new color on his skin.
“Pea? Didn’t you just leave?” Fangs stands at the door, giving his roommate a quizzical look. The taller man turns around and his friend’s face forms a smirk.
“You meet someone?”
“Is it supposed to burn when you meet someone?”
Fangs looks excited, “only your soulmate and family. And I don’t see no outline” he clapped his hands together. “You met them?!”
“Briefly”
“Why?”
“I might’ve ran away”
“Why would you do that? You’ve wanted to meet them for ages!”
“Yeah well it’s scarier than I thought it would be”
“You’re telling me that you, a gang member, are scared of meeting someone? You ok?”
“Imagine meeting the person you’re supposed to be connected to for the rest of your life! A complete stranger who you know nothing about!”
Fangs pulls up his sleeve to show a small handprint on his arm, opaque gold with an outline.
“It’s happened, and we’ve lived together as best friends for years” he smiles and lowers it.
“Give them a chance”
-
Leo sits on the steps up to his house, tracing the gold color on his skin. He holds it to the sunlight and smiles as it gleams.
Someone sits next to him and grasps his hand.
“Oh, so I see you’ve found someone” his grandma birdie brings his hand closely to her face examining the bright color.
“Gold, right?”
“Yeah”
“You’re lucky you have a color that matches your skin tone. Your grandmother left a pastel pink mark on my arm. Do you know how hard it is to match my outfits with it?”
“You always manage to”
“You’re too kind my baby boy” she pinches his cheek and smiles.
“He ran away, right after it happened. I’m sure he’s just in shock” he shrugs.
“Ohhh so its a boy. Tell me all about him!”
“Yes” he smiles at her, “he kind of reminds me of those guys from he outsiders or grease. He even has the little curl” he mimicks the curl that adorned sweet pea’s forehead. Birdie takes his face in her hands and places a kiss on his cheek.
“I’m so happy for you! We must celebrate! I’ll get the champagne!” She starts to get up, “and once you find him again, bring him over and we can celebrate all over again!” She hurries inside, and soon the sound of a bottle cork popping can be heard before a shattering of glass.
“Dear! How many times have I said not to shake it?” The voice of his other grandma calls from inside
“Not enough!” Birdie cackles back, before her head pops out.
“Come on!” She holds up the now overflowing bottle up and he follows her inside.
Sweet Pea sighs as he flips through his book, not even bothering to pay attention to the words on the page as he absentmindedly itches his nose.
The itch grows stronger and soon he abandons his book “fuck” he whispers.
“Hello?” A soft voice asks. He looks up to see the man who had hit him with the door, scratching absentmindedly at his hand, covered in gold.
“Uh-hi”
“May I sit?” The man motions to the seat across him. He nods dumbly, unsure of what to say next.
Leo sits across from the man, wanting to take his hand, but stopping himself.
“I’m Leo”
“Sweet Pea” Leo’s smile spreads wider, and sweet pea can’t help but mirror it, his shoulders relaxing.
“I like it. I feel like it would suit you”
“More of a teasing nickname than anything”
“I think it’s pretty”
There’s a pause, both of them not knowing what to do.
“So uh, I guess we’re soulmates?”
“Yeah.”
“What are we supposed to do?”
“Whatever we want, I’m guessing” Leo’s hand inches forward, stopping just in front of the other man’s.
“I’d like to get to know you first.” a happy warmth spreads from the serpent’s nose to his toes, his cheeks flushing.
“Wanna get coffee?”
“I’d like that” Leo smiles up at the man before standing.
“You’re tall” the serpent notes.
“That’s what I’m told” Leo laughs
—-
The two sit on a rickety bench at the local pond, watching the ducks and turtles play in the water.
Leo grins as a duck waddles up to them, quacking happily. He pulls a handful of seeds out of his pocket before setting his coffee next to him, outstretching his hand to her
“There we go, good girl, good Benny” he coos as he pets her head. She nuzzles her beak into his hand affectionately before finishing her treat.
Once the food is done, she quacks again before waddling back to the pond.
“You named a duck?”
“I see her every once in a while. She’s the only one who hasn’t tried to bite off my fingers”
“You come here a lot?”
Leo nods, “I like to use this place to think,” he turns to sweet pea
“So, what would you like to tell me about yourself?”
-
The two end up talking for hours, simply enjoying each other’s presence, their hands soon joining together.
“You doin anything tomorrow?” Sweet Pea asks as they walk away from the park.
“Yes, What you have anything in mind?”
“Let me take you out for food.”
“I’d like that” Leo squeezes his hand and swings their arms, bringing a little laugh from the other man.
They spend the rest of their walk planning out the next few days, Sweet Pea’s thumb smoothing over the back of Leo’s hand the entire time
“Well, this is me” Leo sighs as they approach one of the brownstones.
“I-“ Birdie, wearing a bright outfit and loads of gaudy jewelry interrupts them, rushing down the stairs, pointing at Sweet Pea.
“IS THIS THE BOY???”
“Birdie!” her wife is right behind her, arms gently winding around her waist.
“Not now Irene-“
“Yes, this is him-”
“Leave them be darling-”
“Come on for champagne dearie-“ birdie unwinds herself from Irene’s hold and places a kiss on her cheek before flirting back inside. Irene sighs and follows her, giving the two boys an apologetic smile.
“Um-“
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to. My grandmother is just...enthusiastic” Leo chuckles.
“I do have to go home, but tell her I can tomorrow.” He lifts Leo’s hand to his lips and presses a soft kiss to them.
“See you tomorrow. I’ll text you?”
Leo nods, words unable to form, his hand tingling where the man’s lips had just been, a goofy smile on his face.

Tumblr media
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
The next few days went as before, Solstice sitting in her dark, hot room, only coming out when she was sure no one was home to get what food was around the house. Luckily for her Sweet Pea hardly spent any time in the house other than to sleep and FP was never there, probably trying to stay away from his problematic daughter.
Solstices head was spinning, she didn't know if was dehydration or the fact she had not one but two siblings that she had never met. Solstice had always wanted siblings and at the academy, she somewhat found that. The first day she started at the academy Solstice was appointed to the orphanage sector even after constantly repeating that she "wasn't, in fact, an orphan" and her parents "would be coming for her any day now". Her parents never came and after a while, she stopped crying herself to sleep. Solstice soon realised that if her family wasn't going to come and save her then she was going to create a family with the only three girls that were in the same situation as her. Of course, Solstice knew other children at the academy that were there to get an education but only four; herself, Prudence, Agatha and Dorcas, lived there all year round.
This caused them to become inseparable and soon enough their little group caught the name 'The Weird Sisters", a name Solstice despised with a passion. These girls looked out for Solstice and eventually they became a force to be reckoned with. Together they caused mischief and often got in trouble for causing general havoc and widespread destruction. But when together no punishment truly felt like discipline and instead, they were some of Solstices fondest memories. Such as when they were caught mixing herbs and such into different glasses and jars, they were forced to clean the entirety of the girl's dorms, and with one quick glamour spell, they were done.
These actions lead to the weird sisters to become some of the most powerful witches at the academy, often being submitted into the advanced classes years ahead of them. But what else can you expect if they live at the school while the rest of their classmates went home off term spending time with their families, being loved and cherished. After a couple of long years like this Solstice finally came to terms with this life and stopped fighting her old ideals. She soon forgot about her life in Riverdale and the torture her parents allowed to endure in the Sisters of Quite Mercy.
When she ran away from the academy there was nothing left for her there. Her sisters were gone, her real family was gone and solstice was truly heartbroken. She didn't have real time to grieve because she was terrified that whatever hurt her loved ones like that may still be looking for her. It was a complete coincidence that she stumbled into Riverdale after all of these years. Her bus broke down shortly after taking off, her intended destination being anywhere as far away from Greendale as she could possibly get. Solstice surprised herself when her feet began to walk the long trek from the main road all the way through the northside right down to the southside and to her childhood home. She tried her hardest to not get her hopes up. Of course, her old family wouldn't still be they because if they were, they just didn't want her instead of not being able to find her. She was wrong.
Solstice was physically shaken out of her deep dark thoughts when an enormous round of rattling knocks came from the weak wood of the bedroom door. Solstice didn't get out of her bed but instead just sat up against the black metal headboard. After a few more seconds of silence and door creaked open to reveal an already dressed and ready-to-go Sweet Pea who instantly rolled his eyes when he saw her lack of effort to pretend to be ready.
"We had to leave like 10 minutes ago" he muttered looking, less than impressed look grazing over his flawless features. "Just hurry up so we can leave"
For a moment Solstice was baffled with what he could be going on about when she remembered that it was her first day of southside high today. Absolutely fucking perfect. She really could not be bothered but when she turned her head to complain to the tall boy, he was already gone with the door shut behind him. Solstice sighed dramatically loud and peeled herself from her duvet and stretched upwards when she leapt from the bed. Solstice walked over to the vanity that was door the inspect the damage she had done to herself after being a hermit for almost a week.
To put it plainly it was horrific, her normally blonde, wavy shoulder-length hair was almost a dark brunette due to the amount of sweat and grease that had layered it. Even worse than that was the dark circles that clung to her eyes for dear life. She still had a small amount of makeup that was left over from the night she arrived. Solstice turned to the alarm clock that was behind her on the bedside table and groaned when she saw that she only had 15 minutes until she assumed that school started. A simple glamour probably wouldn't be able to hide the truly impressive state she was in at the moment, however, there was only thing that would help. She turned to find her bag that was laying at the foot of the bed a pulled her grimoire which was bound in black cloth instead of the traditional leather. Skimming through the various pages she came to the one she was looking for. Appearance revival. She looked briefly over the instructions and grabbed and lit the large pillar candle the was also in her duffle bag. After reciting the added incantation, she turned back to the mirror and smiled at the result.
Her skin was her usual perfect porcelain complexion with a few blonde freckles scattered over the whole of her face. Her blue eyes gleamed as if they had never shed a single tear and her hair was back its old healthy ways, blonde waves wreaking havoc around her head. Now all she had to do was get dressed into her black dress, put her doc martin boots and she was done. After doing this Solstice blew out the candle and placed it in the wardrobe along with her book and picked up her shoulder bag and rushed down the stairs with 9 minutes to spare. As Solstice descended, she saw sweet pea standing next to the front door, looking impatiently down at his wrist.
He huffed still looking down, "Solstice, if you don't hurry up, I swear I'm gonna- "
"You're gonna do what Sweet Pea? I'm truly terrified" Solstice quipped tilting her head to the side and raising her eyebrows.
Sweet Pea sharply looked up and was slightly startled that she was stood in front of him. He was even more confused by the fact that she was completely ready to go even after he had just seen her sitting in bed looking like actual death. There was no way that this could have been possible and sweet peas open jaw only made Solstices smirk wider.
"Cat got your tongue? And here I was thinking we were going to be late..." She stated as she settled the straps of her bag back onto her shoulder when they became a little loose.
Sweets pea closed his mouth and angrily opened the front door and walked out, "try not to melt" he cast the comment over his shoulder obviously irritated with her.
Solstice closed the door behind her, "No promises".
She followed a few steps behind sweet pea as his long legs lead them down the streets of the southside until they reached a rusty baby blue pick up truck and he swung his bag into the bed of it and turned to open the door. He jumped into the driver side and started it after it refused to the first couple of times. Solstice waited patiently for him to unlock the passenger side door. Solstice was starting to grow impatient and looked and the boy sat behind the wheel, Sweet Pea was smiling wickedly and indicated to her with his hand motions that he had indeed unlocked it. Sol knew he hadn't, call it witchy intuition if you will. But choosing to humour him she placed her hand onto the handle and pulled, the door still not budging. She could see that the door was still locked from the inside because the little pull/push lever was still pushed down. Solstice could so easily open the door if she willed it but that would risk Sweet Pea finding out what she was. She could hardly care less about Sweet Pea himself but she couldn't be held responsible for another witch trails, that guilt would cause some serious wrinkles. So instead she gave the boy a devilish glare and turned her back to him and looked down the street to see a gaggle of youths making they way in her direction. When she looked back to look at Sweet Pea, he was already looking at the same group through the small window behind his head. He let out an annoyed sigh as he leaned over the passenger seat and popped the door open for Solstice and almost dragged her in and slammed the door shut the door behind her.
As the group passed without incident Sweet pea let out a breath of relief, as if he was expecting them to notice him.
"Not friends of yours I'm taking it, "Solstice said still looking at the small silhouettes of the teens in the distance.
Sweet pea didn't say anything as he finally started the truck and began to drive the short distance to the school. There wasn't much in the way of scenery as it mainly consisted of a rundown concrete wasteland with an occasional tree or shrub, but even then, they were either destroyed or had some sort of deformity. Greendale was nothing like this. It was full of lush mint fields and upper-class houses with an immense forest that backed up on to the academy's property. Solstice loved those woods more than anything, especially straight after it had rained. They was nothing quite like it in this world.
Shorty after Sweet Pea pulled up into a free parking space and the truck and came to a stop. The space he had chosen was smack bang in the middle of at least 30 motorbikes. Weird choice, solstice thought. When they jumped out of the car she turned to see that space was marked by dark green spray paint in the shape of the box. That's odd. Why would there be a makeshift parking space right in the middle of the motorbike area? Solstice twisted her head to the right and saw a group of teenagers all wearing leather jackets with that same serpent as what her dad and Sweet Pea had on their back. It was also the same as the tattoo and Sweet Pea had on his neck.
Solstice turned back around to see Sweet Pea stretching over the bed of his truck and grab his worn-down black backpack and threw it into the front of the truck, under the bench seat and out of view.
Solstice furrowed her eyebrows in confusion." Won't you need that?" she asked fiddling with the lace fringing of her dress, not really out of nervousness but more out of habit and that moment in time.
Sweet Pea looked over at her and shook his head, "you're not gonna need a bag, trust me." He said and walked the rest of the way to her. "and you're not really dressed either" What the actual fuck?
"What are you ta- "She started when he began to shrug off his many layers until he handed her his red, blue and black checker flannel.
"What do you what me to do with this?" she asked sort of handing back it back to him. Still very baffled.
"You're dressed to..." he seemed to think for a moment trying to think of the best word as he started putting back his denim vest and leather jacket back on. "Fancy." He cringed slightly. "Only northsiders dress like you and if they-" he pointed to the school, "-think you're from the northside you're better than dead, so would you please just put it on" he exhaled.
Solstice rolled her eyes and forcibly shoved her bag into Sweet Pea's arms so that it wouldn't have to touch the muddy gravel below her and stretched the loose material over her body. Looking into the window of the truck Solstice saw that her lace collar or fringing didn't go with her whole ensemble. She grabbed and torn the lace which came off quite easily as it was only held down with buttons. Without the lace, Solstice looked a lot more casual. She sighed turning her nose up at it. Now she just looked ridiculous, she thought.
She turned back to Sweet Pea who took his time looking at her, he handed her her bag. "I suppose that will do," he said and began to walk towards the school entrance where there were a few students still filtering in. Again, walking behind Sweet Pea they entered the school and the air was nearly knocked out of her. It took her a moment to realise that someone was touching her, someone had thrown their long, heavy arm straight over her shoulders, she snapped her head, hoping, praying that it would be SP because at least he was a familiar face. It wasn't, instead, it was another boy, maybe an inch taller than Solstice. He was grinning down at her with an evil smirk. With was also wearing a leather jacket but this one was studded with various pieces of metal.
Panic started to bubble up in her throat and could hear the fizzing in her ears her eyes darted around until she saw that Sweet Pea was being held up against a wall by at least 4 guys who were all barely just able to keep him put. He was thrashing about uncontrollably, rage filling his entire being.
"You're new here, aren't you?" the boy who had his arm over her shoulder, a smile filling his features. Solstice was stunned. He was talking to her like they're not beating to the person she came in with to a bloody pulp.
She ignored him, swiftly pushing him off of her and began to approach SP until he made eye contact with her and shook his head. She didn't know what she was supposed to do, she had never dealt with something like this. Gang warfare was something the Academy didn't usually deal with.
Suddenly she felt a harsh grip on the upper portion of her arm and was spun around to face the same boy as before. "I believe I asked you a question, Babe," he said and grabbed her chin and forced her to look up at him. Solstice didn't realize how angry she was becoming. Who in holy hell did he think he was?
"Yes, I suppose you did, didn't you" she snarled and tried to rip her face out of his grasp but his grip only became stronger. She knew what she had to do. She was taught what to do in her self-defence classes.
Solstice closed her eyes and tried to find any part of her that was calm, it would only work if she concentrated. She found it in the deep regions of her stomach, somewhere where there weren't any anxious butterflies, and in the space, she found her strength. She looked up him with pitch black eyes, almost like her iris's had swallowed the rest of her eyes. She let the witch within her take over and she began muttering words that she had never even heard before.
"Nos relinquere solus" she whispered into his ear and almost instantly he let go of her and started barking orders to the others who were still holding Sweep Pea up while others took turns punching. They stopped almost as quickly as he did and he swiftly started to speed walk down the now quiet halls of the school. Turning his head over his shoulder with a look of terror in his wide eyes.
Solstice waited for a few seconds before turning and walking over to Sweet Pea who was slightly hunched over, leaning against the wall. He was breathing slowly, his arms wrapped around his torso. He looked like he was trying to hype himself up to be fine. Painfully slowly he straightens his back until he was stood upright. He was obvious that he was hurt but he tried his best to hide it. Solstice walked the short distance to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Shit, are you alright?" She asked as he winced in pain, shrugging off her hand and began walking down the long hallway.
"Yes, I'm great" he muttered as he grabbed her hand and lead her towards the desk with an old receptionist, a tired look on her face. When she looked up to see Sweet Pea stood there with a black and bloody face, she rolled her eyes, not one ounce of concern crossed over her.
"Another detention Sweet Pea? It's only ten past nine on a Monday morning, that has to be a new record." She noted as she collected the documents, she thought she would need sweet pea to sign for the day he was able to do the detention.
"um no Gladis, not today," he said flashing a smile to the older woman, "Actually it's her first day, Solstice Jones..." he said and slightly pushed Solstice to the desk. Solstice lightly coughed and tried to smile sincerely, which she found incredibly difficult because she didn't want to be there and she was just harassed in the hallway when Sweet Pea was literally being used as a human punching bag.
Gladis rolled her eyes and turned to a computer that was just out of view from the teens and started to slowly types on the thick keyboard which no longer had some of the lettered stickers and had yellowed with age. Solstice was certain that that keyboard was defiantly older that she was and maybe even older than FP. Solstice guessed that Gladis may be a bit of a negative mood as all of the other students had already made it to their classroom and if they weren't late, she would be having her free time around about now.
Gladis looked up and raked her eyes over Solstices form for a little longer than what was considered normal, "Jones, you said?" she questioned, craning her neck towards sweet pea and completely ignoring the look Solstice gave her. Sweet Pea nodded.
Gladis looked back to the computer a cruel smile filling her features, "I thought the serpent king only had two children, an older boy and a young girl, Jughead and Jelly Bean was it?"
Even their fucking names matched.
Bitch. Solstice smiled brightly, trying not to let it get to her. "Yup the very same. I'm the oldest, nice to meet you" she heard from the side of her sweet pea snorting and her fake demeanour.
Gladis ignored her and walked over to the printer. Solstice turned to face Sweet Pea and rolled her eyes at his smirk. Gladis walked back and placed a couple of sheets of black and white paper which had her class schedule on it. Before solstice could even have a look, Sweet Pea whipped it out of her hands and began inspecting it. He had a neutral look on his face until he frowned. He turned back to the receptionist.
"thanks" he muttered and grabbed Solstices hand again and started to pull her down the dark hall. To be honest she was starting to get incredibly frustrated with being lead places with no explanation. Solstice slid her hand out of SP's and slowed down to a halt.
"Do you mind telling me where we are going"
Sweet pea stopped a few feet ahead of her, his patience growing thin. "Where would we be going?" he spat with more venom than he had intended but he really wasn't in the mood to be dealing this. At that moment in time, he hurt all over. He desperately wanted to sit down and with every question, this girl was asking she was preventing him from doing so. "We are in a school, I'm taking you to your classroom so I don't have to babysit you anymore"
Babysit? What did this asshole mean by that?
"Fuck you," she said with the same amount of harshness. "if I'm really that much of a bother I suggest you make yourself scarce then" And with that solstice barged past him connecting with his shoulder. Sweet Pea didn't follow her but she didn't want him to. To be honest he was starting to get on her nerves anyway. She continued to walk around the school until she found that one of the classrooms of her left was completely empty, she threw herself into it and slammed the door behind her.
She didn't care if another person saw her as a burden, she should be used to it by now, right? Hot tears threatened to escape her if she didn't pull her shit together. She had no right to be upset because she barely knew Sweet Pea. Still, that fucking hurts.
Solstice sat at one of the desks and pulled her phone from out of her bag. She scrolled through her contacts until she found what she was looking for. The group chat that belonged to her and her sisters. Still nothing, but that's what she was expecting. She knew it would sting when she saw that there were no new messages asking her when she thought she would arrive home, or how her trip was going. She just wished everything could go back to the old ways, she just wanted to go home.
"fuck" she cried out loudly even though she tried to muffle it with her hand. Waves of emotion washed over her.
"Princessa, are you okay?" she suddenly heard a voice say from the corner of the room, she snapped her head in that direction as see a bulky, very good-looking tanned boy stood next to a girl with impeccable fashion sense and bright pink highlight in her caramel hair.
"of course, she's not, idiot," the girl said as she walked over to Solstice and sat down next to her. "you're Solstice, right?" she asked and tilted her head to the side.
Solstice wiped her tears from her cheeks after her moment of weakness and nodded, "um yeah, sure" she said. "how did you know that?"
"Sweet Pea sent us to do damage control," the boy said who was now leaning against the desk in front of the girls,
"Fangs shut the fuck up, he did not!" the girl snapped at him, causing Solstice to smile lightly, they reminded her of her sisters.
Fangs tilted his head to the side," Nah, Toni, I'm pretty sure he did because when we heard the shouting and then sweets walked into the room looking very angry you said and I quote "Waddup asshole" and he just glared and you, but it wasn't his usual 'shut up Toni' glare it was more of 'I'm not in the fucking mood' glare and then you asked if it was something to do with the new serpent girl he was supposed to be watching, and he kinda looked like he wanted to throttle you and then he told you to Solstice walked in this direction and here we are so-"
"Fangs, babe?" Toni smiled up at him, "shut up!" she stated and a rose tint filled his cheeks. Solstice laughed at their interaction and placed her phone face down onto the desk. "he means well I swear" Toni said side eyeing fangs, "Sweet Pea, on the other hand, is a bit... prickly" she pulled a face at her chose of words but to be honest that was the perfect way to describe him.
"Yeh, no it's fine I was upset about something else." Solstice said her hands fiddling with the sleeves of the flannel. Toni and fangs noticed this and looked at each other.
"So, I hope u don't find me rude but I didn't know that FP had another kid, and you're the oldest right," Toni asked pushing her long hair over her shoulder.
"I mean I guess so, I haven't met the others, Jughead and jellybean, right?" Solstice asked already kinda knowing the answer.
"You haven't met your brother and sister, dude that's messed up "fangs butted in earning a glare from Toni
"Yeh I've not lived with dad since I was six "Solstice said.
"No shit, so how old are you then?" Toni asked
"Just turned 17"
Just as she spoke a bell rang through the room causing Fangs and Toni to jump to their feet and began to walk to the door. When the noticed that Solstice didn't move, they turned to look at her.
"Aren't you coming?" Fangs asked looking a little offended.
Solstice thought she was on an alien planet where to didn't know the language anyone was speaking or knew any of their customs.
"um where? "she asked grabbing her bag and phone. Toni linked arms with her and they walked out of the classroom.
"Lunch," she said smiling.

here's a prompt for you, if you like!: Veronica emancipates herself from her parents and while she looks for a place to live, Jughead invites her to stay with him. But neither of them were expecting what happens next. 👀
I loved this prompt! I tried to stray as far as possible from my usual angst and I’m so awkward with fluff but here we are.
—-
Veronica was torn between feeling totally exposed, not wanting anyone in La Bonne Nuit and not wanting him to leave, desperately needing someone to talk to.
Jughead Jones steps heavily from foot to foot slowly through the room wearing a smug smirk that made Veronica’s lips twitch. “Well, Princess,” he says, a cockiness in his voice. “The new digs aren’t the Pembrooke, I bet you miss Hiram Lodge now…”
What were supposed to be skinny jeans were baggy on his lank frame and his red Docs needed replacing yet the man had the audacity to judge her new living arrangements. Veronica sighs loudly and exhales again through her nostrils, she was hardly in a place to be judging, but it was a hard habit to break. Quite like his dirty habit that hangs from his long fingers that rest near his face, ash falling on her carpet… “That carpet does not pay for itself,” she spits, walking up to him in a hurry and kicking at the ash into the carpet with red bottom heels.
“And apparently not by Hiram Lodge anymore either,” Jughead sniggers. “Tell me, how is it being emancipated?”
Jughead’s arrogance was eating away at Veronica’s patience. Of course it was a stupid idea to tell him, but he was the leader of the Serpents, and they protected not only herself and La Bonne Nuit, sooner or later, one of them were going to find out she was crashing at her own Speakeasy. She clears her throat, straightens her back ignoring the impulse to lunge at him and gives him a curt smile. “All I can say, Jones, is that you really should do it yourself.”
Jughead shrugs, putting out a cigarette in the bottom of a bourbon glass that sits on her bartop. “I mean, my mom isn’t Riverdale’s finest, but I’m not running the risk of missing out on her home cooked meals, you really oughta consider all aspects of cutting off your family -”
Veronica cuts him off, placing her hands on her hips. “I haven’t cut them off completely.”
He tuts at her, waving his hand in the air as he inspects the place. She’s not sure what he’s doing, or what he’s looking for but his wandering eyes throughout her pride and joy makes her feel uneasy and exposed. “Princess, if you haven’t cut them off completely, then why am I the next best thing to talk to?”
She simply doesn’t know. Archie seemed distant, and even more so with the amount of time he throws into El Royale. And besides, things had never really been the same. Not since her dad. Not since Archie came back. Veronica could ask Betty for anything, but for some reason, this just seemed out of bounds. “You are an absolute narcissist.”
Jughead shrugs again then spins on the backs of his boots, pulling his beanie down. He stands before her, staring. “I’m not sold on the new digs, Veronica,” he says with a laidback ring. “I don’t think you should stay here.”
Veronica scoffs. Of course it wasn’t her first choice, but until she got on her feet, it would have to do. She was fine with it, she knows it’s not the worst place to lay her head, so what did it matter to him? “And why is that?”
“It’s cold for starters.”
“It’s fine.”
“It’s just not suitable.”
Veronica rolls her eyes. “Oh and how would you know?”
Jughead’s eyes darken and he spots her suitcase in the corner behind the bar. “Trust me, Princess, I of all people know.”
Veronica feels a little guilty. Atleast La Bonne Nuit wasn’t as bad as a school closet.
-----
At first, his new trailer didn’t seem any better than the back room of the Speakeasy. Until the middle of winter struck. The snow dusted trailers all looked pretty from the road, she’d give Southside that, and being closer to Fangs fulfilled all her gossip-filled needs.
Crashing with Jughead came with both it’s pros and cons. Pros were that he was in fact a good cook, he was strangely tidy, even by her standards. There were several cons. He would get lazy in the night and smoke out of the kitchen window, she had to make do with his almost non-existent thread count sheets and he was often midnight rambling when she was trying to get to sleep. Apparently even the Prep school didn’t stimulate his mind enough, though he told her often that she should also be attending - she was unsure if this was an insult or compliment.
Veronica had noticed that Jughead wasn’t a coffee induced high this time. He was multiple cups of tea in a row, wearing layers of clothing. “Are you on a caffeine strike?”
Jughead looks up from his laptop, she watches a lick of his lips and notices his eyes drag from her feet upward. “The winter hasn’t been so kind the last few nights,” he groans, leaning back with his hands behind his head. “I load up on hot drinks, pull the hood up and pray for a goodnight’s sleep.”
Veronica’s heart drops. She thinks her mouth does too because the realisation that Jughead had been sleeping on the sofa and she in his bed meant him sacrificing something for her. She shakes her head; “No way,” she says. “If you’re cold, you’re crashing with me.”
“Is this some sort of ploy to get me into bed?” he jokes.
“Yes!” she groans. “Pneumonia is a serious thing!”
Jughead chuckles and rearranges his hat, he doesn’t fight back which was just as well because the guilt was killing Veronica. “I’m not one to argue with an actual doctor.”
She throws a cushion at him from across the room.
-------
Jughead pulls the sheets up higher, snuggling in and Veronica mouths the words to the movie. “Snozberries? Who’s ever heard of a Snozberry?... we are the music makers…”
He throws a piece of popcorn at the screen, “Entitlement gets you nowhere, Veruca!”
He continues his never ending commentary that Veronica has grown used to.
“Do you ever feel like you’re always searching for something?” Veronica asks in a lull.
“Is this supposed to be something deep and meaningful?” he asks through a mouth full of soda.
“Yes.”
“It’s too late to be talking this deep, Veronica,” he says with a sigh.
Veronica’s lips almost shimmer under the flashing lights of the TV and Jughead’s eyes seem to linger a little longer on them. For all his flaws, Veronica has found a lot of positives in Jughead. He laughs at her jokes, he appreciates her organisation skills and hates the same things she hates. She understands his cynicism and he agrees with her slightly pessimistic mind. These aside, she’s notices the swell of his lips when he talks too fast, the way he smiles when he’s listening… her attention to detail was sometimes embarrassing, but his attention to her right now was noticeable.
“Are you watching me?” she asks with a mouthful of M&M’s while he watches her talk.
Jughead blushes in the dark room. Red against black pillow covers that now that she thinks about it, don’t feel any different to hers at the Pembrooke after all. “No!” he says a little too quickly.
“You can tell me. You don’t have to be so coy. We’re not playing pretty princesses… Be straight up,” she laughs. She was joking, but the look on his face told her that maybe he wasn’t.
He seems caught off guard. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
Veronica throws a piece of chocolate at Jughead’s face that makes him frown at her. “Take it back,” she replies sternly.
“You started it.”
“What?” she scoffs, moving her head to the side to look at him. “Are we ten?”
Jughead rolls his eyes and moves the blanket off him, swinging his legs out of the bed. “If we are, who’s starting the pillow fight? You? Or me?”
Veronica’s breath seems to hitch in her throat but she refuses to back down, throwing a pillow at him. She tries to ignore the dull thud in her chest and the heat in her cheeks but Jughead’s lack of shirt and ridiculous burger printed boxer shorts have her unsure of where to look. “Sometimes I hate you, you know that?”
He takes the pillow that he was laying on and she flicks another M&M at him. “I’m going to sleep in the living room,” he declares. “Pneumonia can take me for all I care.”
“It’s hardly arctic out there at the moment, I’m sure you’ll survive.”
“The common cold is airborne you know. You’ll catch it if you’re not careful.”
She ignores him. “I’m going to sleep here and enjoy the snacks and remind myself why I hate you so much,” she says airily, getting out of the blankets. “But first, I’m going to get me a drink.”
Veronica makes it to the door but she’s blocked in when he moves his frame in front of her. “You don’t hate me,” he says with a smirk, closing in on her so she can’t get through.
Veronica doesn’t even look at him. “Yeah, I do.”
“If you did, you wouldn’t be here right now.”
The words feel like electricity through the air. She’s rooted to the spot when she looks up at Jughead, his body lazy and laxed in the door frame but his face is all serious.
Veronica licks her lips and can’t tear her eyes away from him. Her heart seems to be beating so loud in her ears, she tries to read him as best she can, but she’s so unsure. She lets the feelings she tried so hard to hide creep in just a little.
She exhales but before she can take another breath, Jughead tilts her head by the chin and brushes his lips across hers. She smiles against him, she tastes his lips on her tongue.
Jughead leans back, a grin plastered on his face that oozes smugness. “I’ve only waited my entire life for that kiss, Princess,” he says, letting her past.
Veronica rolls her eyes, ignores the blush creeping up her neck but traps Jughead between her body and the wall. She places fingers on the band of his burger printed boxers and tip toes to get her lips on his neck. “A bit dramatic of you, don’t you think Jughead?”
She leaves him there, gets her drink and goes back to the room. The winter wasn’t so cold after all.
Veronica hears Jughead’s sigh from behind the door. Her head tells her this was never supposed to happen. Her heart foresaw it from a mile away.

Reggie knew he had messed things up with Elizabeth, seeing as she was avoiding him, anytime she had seen him in the hallway she’d walk the opposite way. But still, Reggie kept trying, he had even shown up at her house to apologize, but no one opened the door, he swore he saw the living room curtain move. Zoe noticed Reggie’s mind being elsewhere, so she voiced her concerns to Midge Klump
“He is so distant lately, I don’t know what’s going through his mind.” Midge nodded listening to Zoe while they were sitting in a booth at Pops.
“Well, what would have been his two-year anniversary with Elizabeth was a few weeks ago. He’s probably just thinking about that.”
“His what? With who?” Zoe hadn’t heard that Reggie and Elizabeth had gone out, she knew Reggie was in a long-term relationship with someone before her but never thought it was someone like Elizabeth.
“He and Elizabeth were together for a year and a half, they almost got back together but things fell through.” Midge shrugged. Zoe excused herself when she found Reggie in the parking lot trying to talk to Elizabeth, whom had just climbed back into her car and drove away.
“Reggie?” Zoe called, Reggie turned around and gave her a tight smile before heading towards her.
“Hey.” He leaned down to kiss her, but Zoe moved away.
“You’re still in love with Elizabeth, aren’t you?” She had asked him, Reggie was shocked, he hadn’t wanted Zoe to find out, not until he was ready to tell her.
“W-what?” Stuttered Reggie. “I’m not,” Reggie cut himself off and sighed. “I wish I could tell you no Zoe, I really do, but the truth is, yes, I am in love with Elizabeth, I tried moving on but I guess it just didn’t happen. I’m so sorry, I never meant to hurt you, I did love you,”
“But you weren’t in love with me. I get it Reg, it’s fine.” Zoe touched his arm. “I’ve seen the looks she’s given you, go be with her.”
Elizabeth had been keeping herself busy at home, taking up painting, pottery, reading, drawing, anything to keep her mind off Reggie.  She had taken a real liking to painting, so most of her room was full of canvas’s that had dried paint on them.
“You know you can’t just shut everyone out, right?” Kevin asked while laying on Elizabeth’s bed while she was painting.
“I’m not shutting everyone out Kev, you’re here.” She shrugged dipping her paintbrush into the cobalt blue paint.
“When was the last time you did something on a Friday besides crafts?” Kevin gestured around the room as Elizabeth glanced around and saw glitter all over, crumpled paper, half made pots. “You’re becoming a hermit Beth. Come out tonight, Moose is throwing a party.”
“I’m good Kev, I’d rather stay home.” Kevin had given up trying to get Elizabeth out the hole she had fallen into.
“Fine, then we’ll have a night in.”
“No, you go Kevin, go have fun.” Elizabeth flashed a smile at him. Kevin and Elizabeth hung out for a while before Kevin left to go to Moose’s party. At Moose’s party Kevin had found Reggie looking around.
“She isn’t here.” Kevin stated as Reggie looked at him.
“She’s not?”
“She won’t leave the house.” Kevin shrugged walking away. Reggie thought for a moment before heading out of the house and driving to Elizabeth’s. When he pulled up to the house he noticed all the lights off in the house, expect in Elizabeth’s room, so he walked into the house silently and headed up the stairs where he ended up leaning against the doorframe watching Elizabeth move around a canvas painting a sunflower. He looked around the room and noticed the clutter of art products laying around, causing him to grin. On the bed were multiple drawings, glitter was covering everything, there were paint stains on the curtains by the window.
“So this is what wallowing in self-pity looks like. Mind if I join?” He asked, causing Elizabeth to jump and scream before throwing a paint brush his way.
“God Reggie!” She held a hand over her heart. “Are you trying to kill me?” Reggie was laughing as Elizabeth shook her head. “What are you doing here?” Reggie stepped into the room and looked at all the paintings.
“These are good, I didn’t know you could paint.”
“I never really tried until recently.” Elizabeth stood back watching Reggie inspect all her paintings, a smile on his face.
“You should show theses off, they’re good Bethy.” Reggie stopped in front of the sunflower.
“Reg, what are you doing here?” She asked again before Reggie turned and looked at her.
“I’m sorry about everything I said to you.” Reggie stated. “I was an asshole, I know that, I was just so angry that I had waited months for you to want to be with me again and then when I moved on I found out you actually wanted me again, I was mad, I thought you only wanted to be with me because of me being with Zoe, but then Kevin talked to me, Moose too and I realized that you only wanted me to be happy, and I was rude to you.”
“Reggie,”
“No, I need you to know how sorry I am.”
“I know Reggie, it’s okay.”
“No, it’s not, I was so rude to you. Zoe and I broke up, it took Kevin, Moose, and your mom telling me that you still loved me to realize I didn’t love Zoe like I love you.” Elizabeth moved forward and cut Reggie off by kissing him.

Tumblr media
It was a normal Friday night in the Whyte Worm. You sat at the bar talking to Toni in between her serving drinks to the occasional older serpent. You stare down at your vodka and white swirling the straw through the icy liquid when two hands grab your waist. You spin around to find Eric, one of the latest serpent initiates, grinning down at you.
“Scared Y/N?” he taunts moving to sit down on the stool beside you whilst keeping an arm wrapped around you. You roll your eyes playfully as Toni walks back over, “Hey Eric, usual?”  “Yes please Topaz, and another for Y/N” he replies easily.
You and Eric fall into your usual rhythm of conversation, him shamelessly flirting as you laugh off his advances. This carries on for a while until you feel someones eyes on you. Looking around the bar you lock eyes with a certain tall serpent who’s too busy watching you to listen to Fangs babbling in his ear. You flash Sweet Pea a quick smile and move your attention back to Eric who has now moved his arm to sling around the back or your stool. You throw your head back slightly laughing at a bad joke Eric makes, just as Eric begins to lean in closer to you a strong hand clamps down on his shoulder. You both look up to see Sweet Pea glaring down at you, eyes darkened slightly.
“Hey man, whats up?” says Eric, glancing briefly between you and Pea.              “Join me for a a game” Sweet Pea answers sounding more like a demand than a question.                                                                                                        “Yeah, maybe in a bit” Eric replies before turning back to you.                              “I was thinking now” growls Sweet Pea.                                                           “Am, sure I guess now is fine. I’ll be right back Y/N, this shouldn’t take too long” Eric winks as he walk towards the pool table.
You scoff and wish him good luck. You watch the pair rack up the balls when Toni loudly clears her throat behind you. You spin around to face her and ask “what?” Toni just grins at you folding her arms over her chest.
“Okay T, whats up?”                                                                                         “He’s jealous”                                                                                             “Who?”                                                                                                           “Don’t play dumb Y/N, its not a good look on you”                                        “Wait, Sweet Pea?”                                                                                                “No, Tallboy… yes Sweet Pea!!”                                                                  “You’ve been watching To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before too much T, Pea is not jealous of Eric”                                                                                            “Maybe, but explain that…” Toni says pointing back at the pool table.
You follow her finger just in time to see Sweet Pea storm past Eric who is currently sitting on the sticky wooden floors of the bar holding his jaw wincing. You look back at Toni who has a smile big enough to rival the Cheshire cat. You shoot her a dirty look before following Pea outside.
You look around the empty car park spotting Sweet Pea’s bike sitting idle. You hear the sound of a lighter ignite and turn to see Sweet Pea leaning against the side of the Whyte Worm. Wordlessly you walk over and gently inspect his right hand noting the slight discoloration. You look up to meet his eyes and he pulls his hand away and takes another drag of his cigarette.
“Shouldn’t you be inside checking on your boyfriend” he asks head bowed trying not to blow smoke on you.                                                                              “What happened back there Pea?”                                                             “Doesn’t matter”                                                                                              “Well it does to me!”                                                                                      “Why?”                                                                                                         “What?”                                                                                                           “Why does it matter to you so much? I’m sorry I punched your boyfriend, happy now? Is that what you came out here for?”                                                    “Eric’s not my boyfriend and you know that Pea, but why did you hit him? Were you really losing a game of pool that bad?”
Sweet Pea groans and slams his already bruised fist against the concrete wall of the bar, “Jesus Y/N, he was talking you!”                                                    “What?” you whisper back.                                                                                 “He was making comments about you and I guess I just snapped”              “What did he say?”                                                                                      “Y/N….”                                                                                                           “Pea”
You stare at each other in silence for a few moments before Sweet Pea eventually caves.                                                                                           “Fuck, he was running his mouth okay? Talking shit to the lads about how he was taking you home tonight, how you’d be in bed, just that kind of stuff and I couldn’t take it. Look I know I shouldn’t have hit him, I get that but I couldn’t just stand there and let him say that shit about the girl that I love caus-“             Sweet Pea’s cigarette drops from his hand long forgotten as both of you stare at each other in shock.                                                                                      “Pea?” you prompt, “what did you just say?”                                                    “Y/N I didn’t mean to just.. it wasn’t supposed to slip out like that. I know that you probably like him but I just think you deserve so much more than a guy like that. No one deserves an asshole like that.”                                                            “Say it again”                                                                                                      “W-what?”
You move closer to Pea, one hand falls on his chest and the other wraps around the back of his neck. “Say it again Pea”. His hands slowly circle your waist pulling you closer, “I love you Y/N” he whispers softly.                                 “Good, because I love you too Sweet Pea”. You both smile brightly as you grab the lapels of his jacket and pull him down for a heated kiss.                       “Wanna go back to mine and watch Parks & Rec?” he asks.                    “Gimme a minute?” you ask before heading back inside the worm.
You feel eyes on you when you walk into the now slightly quieter bar, you see Eric sitting back beside your stool holding an ice pack to his jaw.                  “Y/N!” he begins as you walk towards him.                                                    “Save it” you interrupt before slapping his already injured jaw. You send a giggling Toni a wink before grabbing your jacket off the back of your stool and walking back out. You see Sweet Pea leaning against his bike holding his spare helmet. He looks up as he hears you approach. You share a small smile before he holds out the helmet to you.
“Ready to go Princess?”                                                                                                           You give him a quick kiss before hopping on the back of the bike. As your arms wrap around his waist you answer, “definitely”.

Unwind (Sweet Pea)
In which Andi is stressed, and Sweet Pea decides to help her unwind.
Or
I’ve never written  fluff like this in my life but it never hurts to try.
Or
Shitty Sweet Pea fluff because I’m back on my Riverdale bullshit and I was sick yesterday and needed this.
A/N: This takes place sometime between season two and three. Sweet Pea is kinda (probably) out of character but oh well. Andi is an original character because why not.
Word Count: 1,435 words.
Warnings: Fluff, slight angst, a little smut (they’re literally just making out)
“Fuck,” Andi Andrews slammed the book she was reading shut, dropping it onto the duvet in front of her. Sweet Pea, who sat pressed into the corner, looked up from his book as concern flooded his features.
He ran a ring-clad finger through his hair, “What’s wrong?” His ginger counterpart shoved her face into her shaking hands, rubbing roughly at her face.
“Nothing,” she mumbled,”it’s just that I keep reading the same fucking sentence over and over and it’s not making sense- none of it does and I just-” She dropped her hands as Sweet Pea glanced at her eyes. Tears brimmed at the edges, threatening to spill as she gasped for breath.
   ---
Sweet Pea had only seen Andi cry a handful of times, and even then it had taken a lot for her to do so.
The last time Sweet Pea had seen her cry had been just after riot night. It had made him sick to his stomach -just as the other times had- seeing his girl, his love, his queen, on her knees, clutching on to the small stuffed bear she had put in front of Midge Klump’s locker. It had been torn, fluff spilling out of the stuffed animal, courtesy of one of the Serpents. But the Andrews’ girl clutched onto it anyway, sobbing quietly as she stared at the ruins that had been the memorial for one of her best friends. It broke his heart, but all he could do was stand there and watch as she cried.
Then, he remembers, she had sat the bear down in such a calm manner that it sent shivers down Sweet Pea’s spine, and pushed her tears away with a bruised finger. He had watched her then, too, as she stood up and looked at the small group of Serpents- and students- who had gathered around to watch her, and shouted at them for letting this happen. He remembers her pushing a pale, shaking finger into his chest and telling him that this should have never happened.
“This needs to be fixed,” she had said, “it’s your fault.” Then, she had turned away, marching off with a certain fire. Later that night, he had come to her front door, weary and tear-stained, apologizing profusely for the actions of the Serpents. She had shoved herself into his arms, and he stood on the front porch holding her as she cried.
After that night, Sweet Pea had sworn that he would never let her feel that way again, and that he would do everything he could to help her.
---
He closed his book with a soft thud, dropping it to the side before pulling her into his arms and against his chest. He ran his fingers through the soft ginger hair as he whispered comforting words to her.
“Hey, hey,” He cupped her face in both of his hands, brushing her tears away with his thumbs, “it’s okay. It’s gonna be okay.” She nodded silently, sniffing pathetically as he continued to speak.
“Just let me help you unwind, okay? Let me take care of you.”
“Okay.” Moments after the word fell from her lips, he was climbing out of her bed and pulling her off of it and out the room. He tugged her gently through the hallway of the Andrews’ home, leading her down the stairs and out the door. Sitting in front of the Elm street home was his motorcycle, which Sweet Pea promptly climbed onto, grabbing the black and red helmet he had gotten for Andi off of the handlebars and handing it to the ginger girl. She put it on, and climbed onto the bike behind her Serpent boyfriend, pale arms snaking around his waist and holding on tight. The male put the keys into the ignition, and turned the engine. The motorcycle roared to life, and they shot off towards Pops.
---
Ten minutes later Andi found herself sitting across from Sweet Pea, smiling tiredly as he talked to her about all the things they could do that summer.
“We could go down to the quarry tomorrow,” He told her as Pop Tate slid a strawberry milkshake in front of them, followed soon after with two cheeseburgers and a thing of fries. Andi shot a smile to the older man, murmuring a soft thank you as Sweet Pea reached into his leather jacket for his wallet. Pop stopped him, assuring the teen boy that the food and shake was on the house. Sweet Pea relaxed, thanked him, and turned back to Andi.
She plucked up a fry from the basket, “That sounds nice. We have to be back to the house before noon though, Mom’s coming in tomorrow and I’m supposed to be there when she gets home. “ He nodded, taking a sip from the shake. The two fell into a comfortable silence as they ate, occasionally sharing a loving look from across the table. Once Andi finished her burger, she moved the plate away.
“So, Casanova, what do you have planned tonight?” She smirked at him, and he rolled his eyes jokingly.
“I was thinking I’d run you a shower, and then when you get out we could do some of those, what are they called? Face masks? I think they’re called face masks. Probably watch a movie of your choice, and then just sleep until tomorrow.” Blood rushed to her freckled cheeks and she nodded, signaling that she was perfectly fine with that.
When they returned back home, Sweet Pea did just that. He marched the ginger girl up the stairs, turned on the water in the shower, and disappeared back down the hall. Now Andi stood in the shower, hot water rolling on her skin as she inspected the white shower tile. She ran a hand through her hair, water dripping as if it were a melting icicle. Showers had always helped when  she got like this- the water always cleared her mind and relaxed her muscles. Soon though, she shampooed and conditioned, and shut the water off before slipping out. The bathroom was now filled with steam, which hung in the air like words you couldn’t take back. On the counter sat a pair of pajamas, folded nicely like a wrapped present. This brought a smile to her face, and she picked her soft pink towel off of the towel rack. She dried off, then pulled the clothing on before leaving the bathroom.
Once she returned to her room, it was like an entirely different space. The bed had been made, and where the books once sat was now Sweet Pea dressed in a pair of pajama pants and a tank top. He smiled at her as she shut the door and padded across the room, her soft pink pajama bottoms dragging softly against the hardwood.
“Hey love,” She greeted softly as he wrapped his arms around her waist, her hands snaking around the back of his head and her fingers carding themselves through his dark hair.
“Hi doll.” She leaned down a little bit, her lips latching onto his as they moved together. His left hand slid down her back, bracing her as he pulled her onto the bed and flipped so that her back laid flat against the pink duvet. He pushed a red-clothed knee between her legs, his lips traveling to the edge of her jaw where he lay gentle kisses. Andi let out a breathy whimper, fingers tugging softly at her counterparts hair. He trailed down to her neck, and his hands slid up the off-white tank top he had dressed her in. Soon after, he stopped kissing her neck, and just smirked against the pale skin before digging his fingers into her sides. She giggled, gently pushing against his shoulders. After what seemed like an eternity to her, Sweet Pea relented, rolling off of his girlfriend and onto the mattress beside her.
She rolled over to face him, a wide smile gracing her lips. It made his chest swell, and he felt like he was going to explode from that amount of love that burned inside him.
“I was thinking Pretty in Pink for a movie tonight?” She asked. He nodded.
For the rest of the night, they lay in her bed as the soft glow from her television illuminated the room. Andi pressed against Sweet Pea’s chest, his arm around her waist as Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy went on what seemed like the world’s worst date, and in that moment, everything that had happened in the past year seemed so far away. In that moment, everything was good.
