It fucking frustrates me that like in my studies for Doctor Fate, they really wanted to make that bitch relevant and worked SO DAMN HARD despite the bad ideas etched in there when they were a white dude. Hector, Jared, and Kent Nelson all got that character shilling where they’re like the BEST FATE EVA!

But then the moment Doctor Fate is actually Egyptian men, all of a sudden Doctor Fate is getting his ass kicked by Evil!Superman. All of a sudden, Prime Earth Khalid is now considered “not as powerful” as other Doctor Fates when the lore changed so the Helm of Fate is firmly in Egyptian mythology connected to Osiris though Nabu is still trapped in it. The moment Doctor Fate is PoC, they don’t even bother giving the character a substantial rogues gallery or give him hefty roles in the crisis events that warrants a character of Doctor Fate’s magnitude.

Oh and in media? Khalid has to share the role PART TIME to characters whom aren’t even deeply involved in DF lore (they got their own lore).

What if Desmond wasn't kidding when he said that he was in a cult? Sorry "Wool Over Our Eyes" has me wondering if there was a cult that William Miles was leading, and maybe maybe the very real prophecy that played out was a cover for more sinister intentions. Like Desmond escaped from it and is brought back not to serve faithfully but to destroy it.

How people would vanish.

Did Clay Kazmarek know? Did Lucy Stillman know? If they knew did they tell anyone? He racked his brain over Clay's cryptic words then something clicked

He looked at Shaun and Rebecca hoping they weren't swallowed by the cult. Thankfully they weren't but Layla Hassin, the latest recruit had been sacrificed for some greater purpose. Here they were now. Just them since William couldn't be trusted and Basim was Loki. Loki chose the cult so they were alone. Alone against those whose blind faith would lead them to ruin.

quick note: for the purposes of the narrative, I see the Society as generally being a bigger, more nebulously defined team that the League or the Titans, so I'm not going to list all the members of every versions, just enough to get kind of the vibe of each era across, but just because someone isn't specifically mentioned doesn't mean they weren't there or weren't active. Like, Plas isn't really mentioned, but he's implied by Offspring joining in the Revival Era, par example.

anywho, broadly speaking, there's

the First Wave (pulp adventurer types like Axel Brass, Hark, Rima, Midnight, The Gray Ghost, etc.) that collapsed when many of them were lost in a battle with the future Justice League of a dying parallel universe.

the Golden Age (Diana, Ma Hunkel, Jenny Sparks, Amaya Jiwe, Kent Nelson, Alan, Jay, Carter, Corrigan, Ted Knight, Duardo Montez/Ted Grant, Berto Jimenez/Al Pratt, etc.) that existed up through the early years of the Cold War and Diana leaving for the stars after her battles with Wraith and Maxwell Lord the First
