If Rick changed Medusa for the Roman Myth in the TV show to be more 'sensitive', then he better do the same with calling out Calypso and what SHE did to Odysseus as well.

I still like PJO even though some of the changes Riordan did aren't great and make me sad but I feel like I can still enjoy it to a degree. But I am genuinely stumped and a bit disturbed by how he decided to make Calypso a sweet, sad, lonely "good person". Sure, she's sad and lonely but she is NOT sweet. To me, she reads off as cruel to Leo but even then, why tf does he write her as a good person or someone we should be rooting for?

Her only big myth is basically in the Odyssey where she imprisons and rapes Odysseus for 7 years. In mythology, others do that too but these immortals ALSO have other myths that define them. This one myth is practically her ONLY ONE!

Rick, dude, how did you read the Odyssey and see her as someone to sympathize with? Plenty of lonely people are out there and they don't do what Calypso fucking did!

It kind of freaks me out that Percy was near this woman as she's over a thousand years old and he's 14 at this point. Even if it WAS for a short amount of time. And pairing her with Leo? These kids should not be anywhere NEAR her!

I don't think the Romper Room presenters ever saw Helen Norville through their mirror as a youngster and she still holds a grudge to this day 😂 Niche children's television references for the win! Still laughing at this! Back in the day on Romper Room, the presenter would have the children in the television studio sit down to have a glass of milk and some bikkies, which would signal many of the children at home to ask their adults for the same. This is what Helen was referencing! 😍💖📺

A lovely video from Studio 10 in 2015 featuring Australia's Romper Room presenters, reflecting back on their memories from 1963-1988 (Australia's run time for the programme). Helen might have been a tad too old for the show when the Australian edition began (I'd say she would have been about eleven years old in 1963), but it is possible that the American version was airing on our screens before that, which started in 1953. Australia didn't get television until 1956, so Helen could have grown up with the American version! 💖📺

Tremors 2: Aftershocks will be released on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on November 28 via Arrow Films. Matt Frank designed the new cover art for the 1996 direct-to-video horror-comedy sequel.

Tremors co-writers S. S. Wilson and Brent Maddock returned to pen the script, with Wilson stepping into the director's chair. Fred Ward, Christopher Gartin, Helen Shaver, Marcelo Tubert, and Michael Gross star.

The limited edition set comes with a booklet featuring writing by Jonathan Melville and Dave Wain & Matty Budrewicz and two fold-out posters, all packaged in a slipcase designed by Frank.

Tremors 2: Aftershocks has been newly restored in 4K from teh original negative, approved by Wilson, with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and original lossless 2.0 and 4.0 surround audio.

ohohohohoo.... claps my little hands together!!! let's see.

i think the lambs have the social-manipulation and information-gathering angles pretty well covered, especially if we're including ashton. so i think i'd probably fill more of the evette niche: the weird, flexible problem-solver who lurks in the background.

as for my specialty. allow me to be somewhat self-indulgent and give myself the ability to Summon Creatures. my body would resemble a mostly-normal-ish-girl but would actually be a fairly thin layer of flesh over a hollow exoskeleton. and inside would be a small biological factory that takes flesh and bone and turns it into short-lived nasty little monsters, each custom-made for the problem at hand. maybe they'd each take a bit of my own nervous tissue to be able to function? like wrapping small chunks of my Weird Experiment Brain up in a gross meat shell and sending it to scuttle forth and bite my enemies. this would rule i think... but it would also need to be strictly monitored and limited by the academy doctors -- probably why i'm using my own brain to make them. prevents me from building a whole army or anything, since i need my brain to recover in between each creation.

(obviously im vatgrown. and i think i would have to eat a lot of raw meat & bone to get fuel for my little beasties. presumably some of the meat would be human, cause, like. twigverse.)

the other lambs would gather information and set up the dominoes, and then i'd take what they told me and get to work synthesizing a monster with the appropriate abilities and directions to solve the problem at hand. direct, customized attacks at specific targets and weak points. it would take me a little while to do it, so the lambs would have to stall things just long enough for my fucked up spider monster to kill the right person and sow chaos or whatever. and i do think the monsters would all be fairly bug-like. just makes sense to me.

i would probably be Project Echidna, because, like, come on. sorry noelle, i know you had it first, but what else would you call me
