I need to watch more anime because it's a fun/easy way to improve at Japanese, but like 75% of shounen/shoujo anime doesn't appeal to me and the weird stuff I do like is usually only like 4-12 episodes or a single 3 hour movie. Agony forever 1000 years torment

Actually, I think Kyvir's understanding of Ulder would've been less "binding force holding Baldur's Gate together" and more "The guy who lets me and my murder cult get away with as many killings as we like as long as we don't kill anyone rich enough to have value to him". This description hits so different when you know that the Fist has a reputation for being absolutely fucking useless at best and more significantly made no real effort to do anything about the people actually responsible for the current threat to the city under Ulder's leadership. Yes, I'm sure he'd have done so much about the Banites and Bhaalists and their designs on the city... that were ongoing while he was there... and he did nothing about... despite at the very least knowing the Bhaalists were going around murdering people... sometimes because they were hired to by the people Ulder works with... The Chosen don't even abduct Ulder because they think he's a threat to their plans, it just made it easier if they made him into their puppet. He's not even grateful when the party risks their necks to rescue him! Honestly the biggest thing he does is pardon all the Fists for their mistreatment of the people of the Lower City because the big mean manipulative Banite told them there were assassins in every shadow. Which there literally were. Because the Fist didn't do anything about the serial killer assassin cult in the sewers that they knew was there. The Fist are innocent because they were scared of the criminals they did nothing about for years, apparently. Ulder, if the assassins in the shadows were such a big deal you maybe should've done something about that earlier?

🐌: in my tangchung baby au it's a branched off idea that came from a different version of my tanbo fic where in here his arranged marriage wife dies in childbirth which leaves him as a single father. tang bo becomes very distant to the child, leaving her to be raised by the attendants — mainly because she looks so much like his dead wife that he feels that she's always haunting him in every corner of his life. and chung myung who was cordial with tang bo's wife when the two men were still "friends" feels immense guilt because tang bo and him eventually do become romantic behind the wife's back and this was happening at the height of the woman's pregnancy so double scummy... cm who wants to do right by the innocent little girl that's now motherless and without a present father figure. the baby that's been so starved of attention latches onto cm as her one and only father, fuck tang bo. when she comes of age she makes her way to mount hua on her own with nothing but the clothes on her back because that's where her "real" family is, and if anyone asks she'd always say cm is her real father which makes him feel even more guilty because yanno,, the cheating thing,, i think he'll carry this to his grave and spends his life watching over his psudo-daughter with mixed emotions of fatherly love and the morality of raising the daughter of the woman whose husband you'd had an affair with...
