It’s been a really rough week in several different ways, so I welcomed the escape of last night’s “Gel Plate - Creating a Landscape” class taught by WAC Member Artist Leslie Harper-Reid and held at Walkerville Artists Collective. Sadly my mental capacity was pretty much tapped out, so I struggled a bit with getting things to work the way I needed them to, but it’s all good. My laser printer didn't transfer well, so I tried drawing directly onto the plate with a marker. I don't understand it yet. 😵

Had some precious #studiotime this wet autumnal afternoon playing with collage pieces using bits from @brutoncorrespondenceschool . Includes reworking #gelprinting work, upcycling packaging and other pieces of work and a postcard ready for #postcardday tomorrow. No real goal here except some #creativeplay with materials and just experimenting without fear of making mistakes or judgement. Inspired by listening to a fascinating @bricksart from @catknightart presenting her most recent work, #isolationwindows which was her #collaborativeart response to the limitations of the Covid-19 lockdown. Loved hearing about her painting 77 window views from images sent to her from all over the world, helping her connect with the sender through her reproduction of their views. In a way the #postalart projects I have joined during lockdown have helped me to connect with other artists and whole communities through different projects.
