When looking up references of croagunk I found an image from the Pokemon manga where he gets a hat and he looks so proud and really wanted to draw that! Also hats are so hard to draw!! 😩

Is there lore behind why the Poli line can learn psychic? I was really surprised to see that this stays true for Poliwrath when it gains the fighting sub type. A quick scroll through Bulbapedia says that it and Lucario are the ONLY fighting types to learn it (who aren’t dual type psychic) and Lucario’s lore why is pretty obvious.
I imagine it's the same reason that this species line can learn hypnosis: the belly spiral. According to what we know, this species line uses its belly spiral to lull its foes and prey to sleep, undulating the swirl slowly in a hypnotic pattern. As it grows, I imagine that this ability grows with it!

Instead of getting my ass kicked by proud owners of X and Y, I wanted to go back to this very interesting fan made concept I found and reimagined what should have happened IF Froakie was unveiled as an anthropomorphic and gluttonous sumo wrestling bullfrog instead of... whatever Game Freak and the Pokemon Company always know best. Here's my take on it:
Right at the start, you're a water type fanatic and a frog lover. And Froakie was given to you as your honorary partner. However, its powerful appetite for success would lead it to evolve from Level 5 to Level 16 as Froglut, in which it would devour anything he seeks and finds. The more it eats, the more powerful its belly grows. Its bubbles form itself as a mawashi, but can be used for removal with any given command from the trainer. When leveled up, it becomes the almighty Frokozuna at Level 36 unless 20 more Rare Candies are observed. Rather than a dark type, Frokozuna leans itself as more of a Fighting type, because of its giant muscles, strength, sumo wrestling and kung fu action. When using Hydro Pump, its belly swells up like a balloon, thereby releasing it with a powerful blow against a fookin tub of lard with a flame on its tail any Fire type without limits. Imagine seeing Frokozuna stand up against Team Flare, X and Y would have been a short game to beat!
So yes. That's what I would imagine when X and Y were unveiled on that date. I'd prefer big, hunkified frogs with giant bellies and strong muscles that can make any frog lover swoon in happiness and wonder.

Paras and parasect are some of my favorites because they remind me of ways character design can be inspired by fascinating things that exist in the natural world. :)

Your art is amazing and looks so fluffy
How does it take you to make each piece and could you draw froakie if you haven't already
Well I drew this froakie in 13 minutes 🌚
My art usually is 10-30 minutes for simple things. the animation with the eggs and anorith was about 6 hours tho
I draw fast lol I really need to slow down
