okay i didnt know this happened in real life but a man stopped me on the street today to tell me my perfume is 'excellent' and he made these gestures 👍👌

What's your favourite perfume to wear at the minute?

I rotate my perfumes daily to stave off boredom so I don't have a singular favorite ever (bad at picking those), but it's cold as hell outside so lately I've been reaching a lot for Franck Boclet's Vanille. It's tasty lemon sponge cake with vanilla frosting. Unfortunately lasts less than 4 hours on me. Also often in rotation rn is Lush's Lust, plastic indolic jasmine... basically what I imagine what all those obligatory cyberpunk setting ѕexbots smell like (among other things... maybe I'd layer this with something a bit sweaty animalic if I wanna be more repugnant, because on its own it eventually settles in that kinda sharp but nonetheless pleasant jasmine - still a bit plasticky but a lot more tolerable according to the bf). I also have a sample of Goldfield & Banks' Silky Woods that I've fallen in love with and am failing to ration until I can snag a full bottle - it's exactly what it says on the tin, smooth, comforting leathery vanilla. Really just kinda feels like a warm hug to me, I think my eyes rolled back when I first smelled it lol. Lastly I have a sample of ELdO's Rien that I've been reaching for often, opens up with a blast of aldehydes then quickly settles into chilled, almost soapy incense.Eventually becomes sweeter but otherwise remains very linear. Not sure if I like it enough to buy it though (especially since I've already got my eye on amouage's rose incense).

1: she loves maxi skirts, knit sweaters and cardigans, listens to women' rock, only watches black and white movies or documentaries, has dark long hair, usually braided or loose, learns arabic and azerbaijani, studies economy in private university, only uses blue eyeshade for artistic makeup, hates coffee but fond of cocoa, owns a huge amount of pink nail polishes, ruby rings and japanese pearl collars, uses honey flavoured lip balm, erotic by franck boclet, wears chanel sunglasses even in winter, buys ten magazines a month, has all her life in her queen sized black leather bag, reads mostly non fiction and publishes daily on her online blog, never had a pet and never wanted one, adores raspberries and blueberries, has a full back tattoo depicting angels, her favourite flowers are peonies, knows hundreds of poems by heart.

The world has felt very unforgiving this year and in the last week especially in the US. When I start to feel overwhelmed, I look for a perfume that feels like a soft place to fall. That's why this morning I reached for Heliotrope by Franck Boclet. Heliotrope will always feel like one of the ancient literary flowers along with rose, Lily-of-the-valley, gardenia and jasmine. They enhance anything they are added to but stand on their own with a singular piercing steadiness. For me heliotrope is both innocent and wise, heady but also maternal. Franck Boclet's interpretation pays homage to the flower in a way that enhances it simplicity and beauty. This is sweet, warm, powdery and a little spicy. A gentle comforting hug.
