OC Kiss #2 - Ixchel and Fervanis Lavellan

Instead of doing prompts for @ockissweek, I challenged myself to tackle different styles. I used to be far more comfortable with this kind of work, and it comes much more naturally to me with traditional media--maybe I just haven't found the right "pencil" brush yet.

Thank you for letting me borrow Fervanis @fensyl ! I always love seeing Fervanis' fashion on display in Ferv's art (please check him out)!!!!

Took the pose from classic art, as always putting a chivalric twist to put Ixchel in a more knightly position. A kiss to the hand for luck before she goes off to a tourney or something. Didn't have time or stamina to figure out a bridle for a halla so here we are.

I have Andruil as being very important to my Lavellan so I cannot wait to see the potential consequences there! There’s so much info packed in such little material from the game

The possibilities are exciting. and this is true. take the tree as an example. what does it represent? callback to the similarly prominent tree in the DWR teaser yes, and obviously the potential symbolic meanings of the tree were discussed to death then, but:

Mythal? (branching vallaslin)

Andruil? (Vir Tanadahl, elven Fervanis/Fervenial)

Neromenian Fervanis/Fervenial?

the Dalish? (Vir Tanadahl)

a vhenadahl? (and so meaning alienage communities, potential elven uprising?)

Arlathan itself (vhenadahls are symbolic of this to CEs)

The Dalish kingdom? (Vallasdahlen, Emerald Knights and other heroes)

bana’vhenadahl - the ruined tree of the People? (and so meaning the People in general and an unpleasant fate, either their historical one or one coming)

Solas (foliage on one of his tarot cards)

several of these things at the same time

it also makes me think of sylvans but I don’t think that’s part of it. back to Andruil, you then have the story Felassan tells of Fen’Harel and the Tree, her curiously highlighted prominence in the first story in TN, and how Strife calls Arlathan forest “her” forest. gosh the red lyrium infesting the tree has me unreasonably freakin. 🌲 👀 this is 250% way overthinking it but it’s fun and harmless x)

(I similarly wonder in regards to my Warden!)
