Heaven When We're Home (T)

Crowley knew that trying to rebuild a life from the ground up would be difficult under even the best of circumstances. And, while he adored Adam to no end, being the sole parent to a little hellion of a child sure didn’t simplify the task. Truth be told, Crowley hadn’t the slightest idea how he’d managed to keep things relatively afloat for the past four years.
Going right from the suffocating constraints of his upbringing to single-parenthood hadn’t left him with much of an opportunity to grow into himself. But after meeting the handsome and kind-hearted Mr. Fell, Crowley might get the chance to spread his wings after all.

This fic is so cute, all around! I love AUs with the Them, and this one does it in the best way. All the kids are written so lovely, and you feel like you're there in the best way. This is just a constant smile, from Crowley's sarcastic remarks to Adam's obsession with a certain book to Aziraphale's growing fondness for them.

A human AU in which Aziraphale is a bookseller, Crowley is a drummer, and they are both petty disasters in the worst/best way.

“So what’s your deal?”
“My-my-my deal?” Aziraphale stammered. “I’m a bookseller, is my deal.”
“Oh,” Crowley replied, sounding as uninterested as it was possible to sound.
“It’s just, I couldn’t help overhearing, and --” Aziraphale swallowed hard. “You really are an accomplished musician. But I thought -- for after 11PM -- perhaps we could reach some arrangement?”
“Arrangement?”
Aziraphale felt his his smile turning forced. “Such as, perhaps, playing the drums *before* eleven? Instead of after?”
Crowley stared blankly at him. In fact he stared for so long that Aziraphale briefly wondered if he'd lapsed into ancient Greek again, which he was known to do in bad dreams or during panic attacks.

This story has two very definite parts, and you'll know when they change. I'll admit part one went on a little long to my liking when I was reading it, but by the end I understood how necessary it was to establish the characters that way. Be warned: if you don't like Crowley being anything other than nice, this isn't for you, but he's a sassy arsehole and I love him for it. There's an unexpected twist in the middle (well, first third) which puts things suddenly in perspective, and it's just like everything clicks into place.

What About Hope? (M)

Crowley met Aziraphale in the spring of 1989 while he was on his lunchbreak from the factory, his attention immediately drawn to the posh boy sitting by the canal writing poetry. It was immediately obvious that they came from entirely different worlds, but the time they spent together was the happiest Crowley had ever known. With Aziraphale, Crowley experienced many firsts - his first kiss, his first love... his first heartbreak.
Twenty years later, they are reunited when Crowley, now a successful writer and vlogger, comes to work as an Associate Lecturer in the university department where Aziraphale is an academic. Seeing Crowley brings back Aziraphale's intense regret for allowing himself to be persuaded to leave him behind all those years ago. Aziraphale desperately wishes to renew their acquaintance, but Crowley seems determined to keep his distance. Aziraphale can't blame him for not forgiving him, since he has never been able to forgive himself, but when Crowley begins to spend more time with him, Aziraphale is left with the hope that maybe they could at least be friends again - no matter how much it might hurt.

I'm not usually a fan of second-chance romance, except when it comes to these two. This is so sweet (and not nearly as angsty as I was led to believe) and filled with so many little things that just made me want to squeal at the cuteness. It's also nice to see a somewhat realistic portrayal of some stuff, and an example of some real-life stuff.

The important thing, Crowley tells himself -- the most important thing -- is Adam, his brilliant, creative, empathetic nephew. Being fourteen's hard enough; the kid didn't ask to deal with the weight of the world on top of it.
And if taking care of Adam means Crowley has to tough it out at a job he can’t stand, so be it.
And if Crowley's job means that Adam’s charming English teacher is NOT a romantic possibility, well, that's just how things go.
But the occasional drink with Aziraphale proves hard to resist. They frequent the same pub, so who can object to them saying hello? Briefly sharing a table? Perhaps a little conversation? The painful knowledge that it can’t be anything more -- not without somebody getting fired or sued or both -- well, that can't be helped.
Until Crowley stumbles onto a terribly reckless idea...

To be completely honest, I'm still in process of rereading this. But I remember finishing it and just sitting there in awe for a while. It's a truly complex story that is so touching on so many levels, wrapped in a biting commentary that doesn't fail to land.

Mutually attracted, mutually terrified the other one thinks it was all a regrettable mistake, they turn to their dear but anonymous online friend to vent and ask for advice.
…Maybe they should tell each other their screennames someday.

This is a lovely story full of misunderstandings that get resolved quickly. A very nice read, that is made lovelier by the slight meta dimension and all the jokes! It goes to true emotional depths at some points, and overall it's just a very worthy read.

It's great to see more of characters that were, in my opinion, underutilised throughout the second season. Heaven is laugh-out-loud as ridiculous as canon (in a good way!) and there are some true gems between the angels, fallen or otherwise.

Please do recommend fics! I struggle to find enough to list in a week. I particularly tend to like human AUs, with a penchant for fake relationships and soulmates. That isn't to say I'm not interested in anything else! Feel free to recommend anything that you liked, whether short or long, ongoing or completed.
(I couldn't find the tumblrs of most of the authors whose fics I've included; if anyone knows them, please do tell me so I can edit it! I always want more people to discover fics and authors, which is why I always try to tag authors. Of course, sometimes a writer doesn't have a Tumblr, but 4/5 seems a very high number of authors without Tumblr, considering it's AO3 for Good Omens.)

Hier, Les Schtroumpfs (1981), le cartoon d'Hanna-Barbera d'après la bande dessinée de Peyo est de retour sur Gulli.
Alvin et les Chipmunks est également sur la chaîne, mais en 3D et non en dessin animé traditionnel.

So this is probably a stretch but when Colin’s complaining about the program being broken he seems to imply intention to it
What if Freddy or Norris and Chester or whatever sentience the computers have is actively attempting to destroy itself? What if it doesn’t want to be like this, what if it’s in pain, what if the angels cut it when it tries to think and every error is it lashing out in pain and rage and terror?
What if Colin’s dragging it kicking and screaming from its own demise? What if it hates him for it?

TMAGP Theory Board ( EP 10)
Hi guys sorry for the late post I ended up drawing a lot for this update especially because it's the last one before the hiatus so wanted to give it a little more pizazz :D
What Happened in Episode 10: Saturday Night
Interview with Nigel Dickerson. The inccident report this week was all about Mr Bonzo. If you remember from last episode Nigel is the famous tv personality who created the character of Mr Bonzo. During this interview he recounts the rise and fall of Bonzo while being ominous and on edge the whole time. what I gathered from the interveiw is that Bonzo is either trapping Nigel or Bonzo and Nigel are linked somehow. (when he say "he won't let me leave" and refers to himself as "us") we also learn about the murders that are connected to the Bonzo suit, first by the serial killer Terrance Menki and very recently 3 unsolved murders. Nigel also mentioned that the actors who wore the Bonzo suit would be prone to injuries on set which is also really stange. Could be they were used as Bonzo's victims near his begining
Gwen meets Mr Bonzo. The other section of the episode dealing with Bonzo is when Gwen goes to Nigel's house on her first assignment as the Externals Liason. So turns out Bonzo is maybe a hitman for the OIAR! Also, big thing Mr Bonzo is atually alive and is introduced with some kind of practice almost resembling a ritual. I heard somone mention they think Bonzo is an avatar of the Stranger and I can definitely see this. I'd love to hear if anyone else has a theory for what entity Bonzo may be connected to.
The Return of Colin. Colin isn't dead!! Shocking absolutley everyone Colin is still kicking. a few episodes ago he was sent on mental health leave by Lena after his parnoia caused him to mentally snap. Celia sees him while on break and they have a short convorsation. Colin tells Celia that he need to figure out the computers. also big thing Colin is back without the permission of Lena. It will be interesting to see what hes looking for and if he'll continue to sneak behind Lena's back.
Sam and Alice's Adventures into the Institute. Probaly the biggest development lore-wise was Sams and Alice investigating the ruins of the Magnus Institute. They don't find much (but I'm still am gonna talk about it for awhile) Alice mentions that there were weird carvings in the floor which she later equates to the worms on the ground. If you are a Archives listener hearing about worms in the archives starts seting off all kinds of alarms. This means in this universe the Jane Prentiss attack still happens, which is especcially iteresting because If I'm not mistaken in TMA the worm attack happened spesiffically to mark Jon with the corruption. Was Jon ever part of the institute? or if not Jon there must have been an archivist role in this Magnus Institute that would require Jane to attack it.
ERROR and the Tape Recorders so far in protocol we have been listening to the characters through either the computers or though their phones. But during the last few minutes we here the click of a tape recorder. and TMA fans around the world rejoiced. The magnus archives is entirley told through tape recordings and are a tool used by the web (spesifically the avatar Annabelle Cane) does this mean Annabelle made it to this universe? or it could also signal the presense of Jon (since the tape recorders are linked to him) Alice and Sam investigate the archivist office looking for a place for the key when the floor collapes and Sam drops the key. After some Sam and Alice banter, they leave but the recorder stays running we then hear the scraping sound and some shutterd breathing. This is when I highly suggest going through the transcript after listening to an episode becuase they specifically what were hearing and who is breathing.
I included the snippet from the transcript that pinpoints every not verbal sound we hear

thud on wood then a rattle of a padlock
Key being dragged across the wood then fumbled into a lock that clicks open
trapdoor opens and ERROR imerges
ERROR takes 3 breaths
ERROR has been used before for redacting the roles played by Johnny, Alex and Tim (aka the voices of FR3-d1) during the cast anouncements for protocol. This makes me think that ERROR must be someone from the Archives universe my running theory is that it is a entity that houses Jon, Martin and Jonah's souls or consiounous. but It could literally be anyone. I'm also thinking ERROR has been locked in the tunnels under the archives (Mentioned in TMA)
And thats about Everything! plese let me know your thoughts or if you wanna correct me on any mistakes :)
Also I would love to know if you guys would prefer this style of post where I illustrate moments and scenes from each episode? it would probably delay when I'm able to post the breakdowns but I'd love to know if you guys perfer that format over the less illustrated one.
