Early 2000s/late 1990s anime that is now on the verge of ‘forgotten’ status

I’m talking about those nostalgic analogue animations, or when the anime industries were facing a strange identity crisis of digital or analogue. I don’t know about you, but looking back, that period of anime certainly was the most mature I’ve ever seen, even compared to most shows ever released in the past decade or so.

Once more, this one’s a personal list of shows I remember just as some have never even heard of them

So I’m not sure how many people would actually remember/know this anime, but like Elemental Gelade, but MarAce and with a different plot setting.

Simple Human Marco runs into a Elder raid being fighting off some humans and decides to intervene, not realizing that this was the start of something bigger.

Ace is a mostly human hating elder raid. The only human he ever trusted before was his younger brother Luffy and had sworn that he’d never react with a human to form a bond of pleasure and elder raid. He was separated from his two younger brothers and is looking to reunite with them so they could live in a peaceful setting, which is hard when he has power hungry humans and Arc Aile chasing him every step of the way.

During his journey he meets Marco and maybe something else blooms between them? Ace learns slowly that not all humans are terrible and Marco sees that despite claiming to want to protect the Elder raids and keep peace with them, Arc Aile and even some others are severely misguided and hiding evil intentions.

☆《Yanqing with an Edel Raid!Reader》☆

A/N: So this is a special request from my Yanqing Anon! It's inspired from the anime "Elemental Gelade" and surrounds the concept of a female entity being able to merge with a human (a pledger) to become a weapon. An Edel Raid can only have one pledger at a time. If the Edel Raid wants a new Pledger, the old one has to die first. All Edel Raid are marked by a gem somewhere on their body, that stores all their power.

He feels so honoured and proud, that you chose him as your Pledger of all people. He respects you deeply for it and makes sure to take good care of you.

He was fascinated by your existence the first time he saw you and was immideatly drawn to you. Especially when he found out, that you turned into a sword whilst in your weapon form. You are by far his best sword and treats you with the utmost care even in battle.

Likes to stare at your gem with wonder in his eyes, as his fingers brush against it. He finds it so beautiful and cute, his pride of having you as his swelling in his chest whenever he sees it.

With that said, he definitely doesn't like anyone else touching you and makes sure everyone knows. You are his weapon and therefore off limits to anyone but him. If someone tries taking you away from him, he becomes super protective.

Definitely tries learning everything he can about you and your abilities, so he knows how to use and take care of you better. He wants to be the best Pledger for you and makes sure you know it.

He works and trains very hard every day, because he feels like he can only wield you at his best. It's what you deserve after all and he's only worthy once he's strong enough to keep up with your power, even if you tell him that you love him the way he is. He just wants to make you proud of him.

He's honestly the best Pledger you can ask for and strives to prove himself worthy of handling you everyday. He just loves you and your abilities that much.

i spent the last month enjoying elemental gelade/erementar gerad and i can say it is the most shounen rpg anime without being an rpg itself lol. cou and ren were alright but, i really loved cisqua, kuea, and rowen. they all have a very interesting dynamic and their love and dedication to help cou and ren was just wonderful. chefs kiss the 3 queerplatoniteers love you

i finished the anime and then the manga in one day. because i read the manga so fast it's hard to form an opinion but i liked parts of it, some i think the anime did more meaningfully. but LOL that manga ending huh?

also this was so fucking funny. me after 3 job interviews (fingers crossed)

I'm enjoying Elemental Gelade more than I thought but man Choas Choir are a bunch of dumbasses.

They needed Ren to be their queen and thought of sending kidnappers who were warmongers and bigots and even some subtextual rapists. Was the way to go vs just showing up and saying " Excuse me could we have a few minutes of your time to persuade you to be our queen.

Instead of you know traumatizing the crap out of her. I know Coud dying would of been met with a nope from Ren no matter what. But would of made more sense for them to try.
