SPUR社 Orthopan UR + Nanotech UR

写真家・渡部さとるさんのワークショップ2Bで静物写真の基礎を教わり、その復習をしている中で「もっと高精細・高解像度の静物写真を撮りたい」と思い、腕を無視して道具（フィルムと現像液）に頼ってみました。

SPUR社「Orthopan UR」は、 SilverSaltさんが最近販売をし始めた800LP/mm（1mmの中に800本の白黒の線が分離できる！）という驚異的な解像度を持ったフィルムです。もともとは書籍や設計図を保存するマイクロフィルムのようです。このフィルムをアート分野に利用するには、専用現像液「Nanotech UR」を使用する必要があります。この組み合わせで最適化されているということですね。

撮影した環境は以下の通り。比較対象フィルムとしてFomapan 400を使いました。画像は現像したネガをフラットベッドスキャナで読み込んでます。

カメラ：Hasselblad 500C/M

レンズ：Planar 80mm f2.8 + Ploxar f=0.5m

フィルム１：Orthopan UR （120サイズ、ISO12、8sec、F22、Nanotech UR）

フィルム２：Fomapan 400 （120サイズ、ISO400、1/4sec、F22、Rodinal）

スキャナ：EPSON GT-X700 （16bitグレー、2400dpi、一切調整なし）

まずはスキャナで読み込んだだけの画像の比較。最初の画像がOrthopan、次がFomapanです。この大きさでも明らかにOrthopanの解像度の高さが分かります。でも、FomapanもISO400にしては、粒子が目立ちませんね。

次に割れているニンニク部分を拡大してみました。同じく最初がOrthopan、次がFomapan。

Fomapanは粒子が目立つのに対して、Orthopanは全くと言っていいほど粒子が分かりません。 Fomapanは粒状感があり「The フィルム写真」という印象。Orthopanは粒子を感じさせない8x10の写真を見ているようです。

120サイズでここまでの高精細・高解像度には驚きました。これなら35mm（135）サイズでも粒子を感じさせずに引き伸ばしができるかもしれないですね。35mmも試してみようと思います。

最後に何点か注意点です。

最初に書きましたが、Orthopan URとNanotech URの組み合わせで最適化されています。Orthopan URをラボに現像をお願いしても、この高解像度が得られるか分かりません（たぶん無理かと）。自分で現像処理をすることが前提となります。

フィルム感度ですが、Orthopan 120（ブローニー）はISO40まで、同135（35mm）はISO50まで対応しています。が、ISO40/50で撮影した場合は、現像の液温が30℃と通常より高温で処理する必要があります。今回は温度管理が面倒だったので、20℃で処理できるISO12で撮影しました。

当たり前ですが、三脚必須です。晴れた日中（EV12程度）なら、ISO50でも1/125sec F5.6で撮影できるかもしれません。でも、この解像度は少しの手ぶれも許さないでしょう。静物写真もスタジオでライトをばんばん焚けるのであれば別でしょうが、直射日光がはいらない窓際だと、低速シャッターは避けられません（今回も8secでしたし）。

少し手間は掛かりますが、高精細・高解像度が欲しい時に魅力的な製品です。今回は手元のISO400のフィルムとの比較になりましたが、機会を見つけてNeopan 100 ACROSを微粒子現像液の代表SPUR社HRXで現像し比較してみたいです。
