We're excited to finally, finally get the next issue of DEADHORSE into your hands. Well into your eyeballs anyway as this campaign is for a DIGITAL VERSION. What we're really trying to do here is get this beauty colored and that's where you come in. I'm hoping to raise $1560 to cover @marissadraws ‘s fantastic color work on the next chapter, The Ballad of the Two Headed Dog #3, and also cover a very, very small print run. Our digital rewards will be fulfilled by @comixology, but I’ll also have PDFs for anyone who wants them.
Deadhorse is a comic book about a man with nothing who finds the key to everything. It is written by me (Eric Grissom), drawn by Phil Sloan, and colored by Marissa Louise and David Halvorson.
Please head over to our Kickstarter Page. You will find all the details, our video about the project, and the different pledge levels.
$5 Gets You 28 Pages of Mystery. Possibly 56!
Our campaign is set up to raise $1560 to cover the costs of coloring the next book. If we are able to pass that number and reach a stretch goal of $2800, everyone who donates $5 or more gets a ComiXology code or a PDF of BALLAD OF THE TWO HEADED DOG #4 for free!
Kickstarter is LIVE now, head to http://www.deadhorsecomic.com/kickstarter

The fundraising drive ends in less than 30 days!

Select Praise for DEADHORSE
"This rollicking conspiracy adventure glides along thanks to cryptic but genuinely absorbing mysteries balanced with clever characterization"
-Publisher's Weekly
"this is one of those rare comic books that remind the reader of why it is they read comic books. They read them for incredible experiences like one found in Deadhorse."
-Dustin Cabeal, Comic Bastards
“a hilarious page-turner full of action, adventure, and mystery.”
-Lonnie Nadler, Bloody Disgusting
“One of the most impressive things about this series is the way all the disparate elements come together.”
-Michelle White, Multiversity
“Deadhorse is a monster of a book stitched together from a heap of conspiracies, a pile of strange jokes and a trunk full of adventure stories. Always zagging when you think it’s zigging, Grissom and Sloan’s madcap journey through the Alaska that’s not on the map is a trip worth taking yourself.” -Christopher Sebela, Cold War
“Deadhorse is a stylish well plotted mystery that impresses throughout with the only real problem being that at the end it leaves you begging for more.”
-Patrick Smith, Spandexless

The Manga Revue: Back in the Saddle Edition
Welcome back! It’s been almost six weeks since I posted the last Manga Revue, so I’m dedicating today’s column to reviews, essays, podcasts and videos from around the web. Though I’ll be focusing primarily on recent posts, I’ve also thrown in links to a few older articles that are worth a second look, like Hakutaku’s brief but thoughtful essay on the Magnificient 49ers and Katrina Jagleski’s “My trans experience with My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness.” Going forward, I hope to update the site more frequently with reviews and link posts, so stay tuned.
MUST-READ/MUST SEE MANGA REVIEWS
If you didn’t read all of this year’s Eisner-nominated manga, check out Brigid Alverson‘s capsule reviews of all the nominees, from Golden Kamuy to Otherworld Barbara. Over at Good Comics for Kids, J. Caleb Mozzocco has the low-down on Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts while fellow critic Lori Henderson weighs in on Juana and the Dragonewt’s Seven Kingdoms. Also worth a look is The Cambridge Geek’s review of Shibuya Goldfish, which praises creator Hiroumi Aoi for adding a few fresh wrinkles to the zombie genre.
If you’re more of a YouTube consumer, check out The Black Manga Critic‘s thoughts on the latest chapters of The Promised Neverland, My Hero Academia, and One Piece, and be sure to congratulate him on two years of vlogging! If listening to reviews is more your speed, download the latest Comics Alternative podcast, which focuses on My Solo Exchange Diary and Grand Blue Dreaming, or the newest Manga in Your Ears episode, which focuses on Heart of Thomas and Go for It, Nakamura!
