Frisk and Chara meet the Clover gang, why not
Alternatively, what do you think soul traits would be for them if you can think of any
Tumblr media
Kel meets the genderless duo
Tumblr media
and how the clover cast(they are children now) as souls
Deaths -
George’s soul was granted to Asgore after losing the final fight(both of them didn’t want to fight? And They have similar personalities so like)
Brenda died somewhat early, through undyne’s chase. (She kept getting away from her but eventually got caught)
Dave died at the MTT show/barrier. He either finally got caught in mettaton’s traps after outsmarting them or Asgore and himself had to fight
Kel dies many times throughout, but keeps living on

She seems to take in the sights and just leaves. Something feels... off about all of this. It's too familiar. Everything looks to similar.
She moves through the Underground at a casual pace. Observing as she makes her way through the snow and water. Managing her way to Hotland. She takes an elevator right to the MTT resort. She seems apathic to all of it. She notices something you can barely see for just a second. Then it's simply gone. She hides out in the main room. Planning something as she enacts on it. Kicking a box of luggage to distract most of the others in the room. Dashing out to check out The CORE.
STATUS BEGINNING INTERFERENCE
That... thing starts to appear again. Following her as she moves along in The CORE. The longer it follows the more The CORE seems to warp. Bending and twisting halls in ways that shouldn't be. Panels display statements that seem nonsensical. She starts to run and dash as she looks worried. Dashing through as the walls try to block her. The figure gets closer. and closer. Eventually getting close enough to interact with her as a path warps itself to be a dead end. And then you see them. It's ❄︎☟︎☜︎💣︎. ❄︎☟︎☜︎✡︎ look tired. Yet there is the slightest smile as they speak to her. "✋︎❄︎ ✋︎💧︎ 🕈︎⚐︎☠︎👎︎☜︎☼︎☞︎🕆︎☹︎ ❄︎⚐︎ 💣︎☜︎☜︎❄︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ ✌︎☝︎✌︎✋︎☠︎📬︎"
Tumblr media
The duo watch Suzy carefully and quietly as the scene plays out, paying full attention.
CAM TRANSLATION: It's T︎H︎E︎M︎. T︎H︎E︎Y︎ look tired. Yet there is the slightest smile as they speak to her. "I︎T︎ I︎S︎ W︎O︎N︎D︎E︎R︎F︎U︎L︎ T︎O︎ M︎E︎E︎T︎ Y︎O︎U︎ A︎G︎A︎I︎N︎.︎"
Tumblr media
Flowey: "Hmmm, she doesn't seem to recognize the Doctor...,"
Frisk: "But the Doctor clearly recognizes her,"
Flowey: "Remember that note we got from her earlier? It said she left us at the hotel, this Suzy didn't even meet up with us or anything, she just left and went straight to the CORE, I'm pretty sure this Suzy is from our timeline, and the Doctor has something big to do with the alternate universe,"
Frisk: "I really don't like it, but you've got a point, this whole thing is called 'The Begining' and the alternate universe is called 'The Experiment'...so...it seems like...they altered her place in the timeline so she would meet... us... and become friends??"
Flowey: "But ...why? Why would the Doctor make an experiment out of that? What sort of outcome are they hoping for?"
Tumblr media
Frisk: "Umm...maybe they did it for sentimental reasons? As unethical as the whole thing is turning out to be, the Doctor is us after all,"
Flowey: "That........actually really checks out and I kind of hate it, only I would do something that manipulative, especially if you wanted it,"
Frisk: "Oh my goodness,"

Callout post @ Chara & how they are canonically a cutie
In normal run, they speak very casually, cheerfully, and excitedly, while also being an insatiable little smart-ass. Still likes to sprinkle in some of them fancy words (to show off? because Toriel and Asgore's very proper way of speaking rubbed off on them?).
In Kill All, they are extremely short and blunt in their narration. When prepared to give their full attention and big speech directly to the player however, though still stiff and clipped, they switch to a more formal way of speaking that seems to be directly based on Toriel; imo, this shows that even then, they still fall back on Toriel as the prime example of someone powerful and worthy of respect in their big moment to give a speech and impress their partner.
tbh tho even Kill All Chara chugs their "respect gay women" juice? Undyne is "the heroine", Alphys is "Dr. Alphys"… meanwhile they're slinging MUD and talking trash all over Papyrus and Sans in the checks lol ("Forgettable", "The weakest enemy")
like sorry, boys, be girls I guess
Totally picked up on their mom's playful sense of humor and love of jokes. This includes but is not limited to puns.
On that note, they think they're VERY funny. Likely was the class-clown on top of being the new kid/the only human kid/the new royal kid. Probably spent a lot of time bantering with their equally goofy mama and joking around a lot to make their dad and brother laugh (Asriel spends SO MUCH TIME giggling at their antics in the VHSes, he was definitely used to seeing everything they did as goofing off). Bad move, Dreemurrs, now Chara thinks they're a stand-up comedian.
A mother-kid comedy duo probably explains why they're SO upset by the sight of Snowy's mom calling out to her kid that they slip up so bad on the narration. Snowy's "the comedian" and its mom likes to laugh at its jokes too, after all.
SO committed to the narrator bit, they literally say sound effects out loud. The cutest is giving the Annoying Dog in MTT Resort Dog Residue when you have a full inventory ("ZOMM!!! It shoots back out at a high speed!")
(seriously Chara did you really say "zomm" what the fuck)
So we can deduce from this they would probably make comic book sound effects with their mouth when play-fighting with Asriel.
They also literally say "zzz" out loud in the Greater Dog fight after canonically calling Napstablook out on doing it
Very possibly did narrator shit like this in life too, which would explain why Toby Fox decided not to give them any lines in the VHS tapes to not make it too obvious lmao. Imagine Chara narrating doing their own creepy face at Asriel.
The point I'm trying to drive home here is that Chara is actually a total baby geek and a nerd and more people need to recognize this, y'all are letting Chara WIN if you think they're even the slightest bit cool. A close examination of the narrative confirms they were not EVER cool.
Chatty af! Literally the type of kid who gets home from school and follows you around to jabber nonstop about their day (me, I was that kid)
Calls their mom's pie ButtsPie, regardless of what flavor you say you like better. Imo could mean that THEY like cinnamon more (in other words, might "turn their nose up" if they found butterscotch on their plate… picky-eater Chara?) or that Frisk has An Opinion on butterscotch and they're teasing them.

Ayup! Tubbo fictionkin here :]. Sorta new to this and all but I was wondering if I could get a tarot reading on my relationship with Schlatt and Dream? The blunt deck if you will. That'd be great bossman, take your time though!
Hello there, sweetie, you absolutely may!
For you, I drew one card for each person- however, you are more than welcomed to ask for something more in-depth! As always, please keep in mind that these readings may not always be completely accurate due to misinterpretation or miscommunication!
Schlatt- What Was Your Relationship With Schlatt Like:
Temperance (The Middle Path, Patience, Finding Meaning)
Now, I will be perfectly honest- I haven't the slightest clue about your source ^^" So that may be evident when I explain that in your timeline you two had to constantly meet in the middle ground and have a bit of patience with each other- especially when it came to deciding,, anything, really. At best, you two would be able to get along well enough in moderation but once anything got too heated or exciting (or simply too much) things would escalate straight out of hand. But don't worry! After a lot of mediation and cooperation, you two soon were soon able to find the perfect middle ground of hanging out and coming to conclusions and ideas together!
Dream- What Was Your Relationship With Dream Like:
The Ace Of Swords (Victory, Raw Strength, Sharp Mind)
You two were great together! Anything you put your minds to could be done if you two were on the same team. However, that was only when the both of you were on the same page- which was a lot! But on the rare occasion you weren't, it almost felt like betrayal and would be taken personally. This would often lead to even more problems as the two of you would be so used to being a team effortlessly that once it required real communication, the both of you would fumble and trip over yourselves. More mistakes and miscommunications would build up to more fights and hurt feelings, but when you two actually talked to each other it would all resolve with ease and the duo would be stronger than before.
I hope this was able to clear things up, my dear!

Did he just hecking OUT her on live TV??
Lots of mixed reactions from people but he most certainly did NOT. Both MTT and Mew Mew lie to people that they're robots in this au, as before the Playstation update I thought Mew Mew was part animatronic LMAO. I know now she's all stuffing, and her only electronic part is her mew mew voice box.
Just making it absolutely clear here, in universe this is common knowledge that they're a robot celeb duo/rivals. Kinda hard to see that granted, as I didn't really get time to establish this before these updates so I apologize for that. (And granted, doesn't help we've been with characters who know Mew Mew is a ghost)
Point being, lying about being robots are how these two explain their existence without people digging into their histories. I respect that they don't want it publicly known that they were ghosts before. I know Asriel Still Messed Up by saying she can't feel attraction, but lbr is Asriel going to handle this cover-up well in any scenario? Nah. He big dumb dumb.

@aboveordinary: As for L, which songs did she actually write at least a 70% of… Expectations, Lento, 50 ft? I know she did not write MTT, or did she? What about the lyrics in let me know and the bad part. The bad part lyrics seems like she’s saying …hey, pretty soon you’ll regret this and miss me. In 50 ft, it seems like all she wants is distance, in let me know, communication seems to be the real issue. Do you have analysis of all their songs? C&L?
Artists always say that they write their own music or lyrics. Which of Camila’s songs did she really right 100%, or at least 70% of? I need to know coz sometimes I get confused with the narrative. Like I thought consequences was 100% her song; thus the emotional performance for L in the award show.
👋🏼 Hi @aboveordinary, sorry for the late reply but I had some really busy days.
As I’ve already explained, if a person writes even a single word of a song, that word or phrase is credited to them unless the artist/writer/label of the song buys the copyrights of that word/phrase by having the person who wrote/said it sign a contract with a confidentiality clause by receiving a payment in return.
That said, let’s start with Camila.
I honestly think that she writes at least 80% of the songs she writes with other authors. Camila is a lyricist. A control freak. If things don’t go as she says, she prefers to discard the song. And an example I can give you is ‘God is a Woman’. Camila had changed the God is a Woman demo lyrics that they sent to her, but she eventually discarded it. And why is that? Because things hadn’t turned out the way she wanted and so the authors of that song took it to Ari.
I can also give you another example. Camila, Charli XCX, Noonie Bao, and Sasha Sloan wrote the song ‘Be Right Here’ for her debut album ‘Camila’, but C discarded it and gave it to DJ Kungs, Stargate ft. Goldn who then released it on June 22, 2018.
You can be sure that Camila has written 100% songs like ‘Like Friends Do’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Only Told the Moon’, ‘Leave for Good’, ‘Cozy Dolla Bill$’, ‘U Shaped Space’, ‘Not Killin It Today’, ‘The Exchange’, etc. She also wrote 100% all of her parts in collaborations such as ‘Bad Things’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Mi Persona Favorita’, ‘South of the Border’, etc.
Songwriters, and I underline SONGWRITERS, especially in collaborations where they participate in another artist’s song, always write their part 100% precisely because the part is usually small.
Camila is also a ghostwriter. ‘Ain’t Easy’ for example. Camila worked on it with Ryan Tedder and Zach Skelton, even recording the demo, before giving it to the duo Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine who recorded it for the first season of the Canadian reality music competition ‘The Launch’, releasing the song on January 17, 2018. Or ‘Love Life’, initially called ‘Love Life/Low Life/No Lie’, written and recorded by C but released without her by Major Lazer ft. Azaryah on November 16, 2017. And in this song, Camila is 100% a ghostwriter because she doesn’t even appear in the credits of the song. This means that she has sold the copyrights.
As for Lauren on the other hand:
Her first experience in songwriting was on September 17, 2011, at the age of 15. That song was about her suffering from being dumped about a month and a half before by her ex-boyfriend Paul Martinez. She also wrote one about Nick Jonas that same year because she had a huge crush on him.
In 2016 she wrote two songs destined to be for someone else: ‘More Than That’ and ‘Miscommunication’. Miscommunication was for Crystal Chavis, who also posted a snippet on Instagram and Twitter, but then deleted it and the song never came out because she (Crystal) was never actually allowed to release that song in the first place. More Than That instead, as we all know, she kept it to herself in the end. The original version written 100% by her was slightly modified along with other co-writers before being released years later.
Still in 2016, in May to be precise, she worked with Marian Hill: ‘Back to Me’ and ‘XO (I Don’t Miss Ya)’. Between the two, they chose to release Back to Me. Her parts in those songs are written 100% by her.
Lauren herself said that for years she felt dead inside. As if they sucked and took her creativity away by telling her she wasn’t an artist. She indeed thought she had lost her talent since she wasn’t using it. And this fear of hers in not being up to par, she carried it on up to the meeting with Alicia Keys.
Lauren began writing seriously in May 2017, to then completing a couple of songs in their entirety in January 2018. Although she’d written in the past, she still didn’t feel quite ready until May (2017), when she started working and therefore writing seriously for her album. Alicia Keys was the one who finally helped her unlock herself. (She met her when Alicia and Ty had a session together, and therefore before L wrote Expectations, Toy, and Inside).
So let’s say she really started seriously and without difficulty in January 2018. The same year she wrote all the songs that she released and that we know so far. [Expectations, 50ft., Lento, Always Love, etc.] And Expectations is written by her 100%. She wrote it in just 30 minutes.
I hope I’ve been helpful to you. A virtual hug 🤗 with love F ❤️

Album & EP Recommendations
An Evening With Silk Sonic by Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak)
2021 has already felt like the unofficial year of the collaboration album, but perhaps there have been none as highly anticipated, or as talked about, as this one between R&B sensations Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. Ever since they dropped their 70s Motown inspired debut single Leave The Door Open under the guise of Silk Sonic back in March, fans have been clamouring for a full-length release from the duo. Now that it has finally arrived, it’s safe to say that the project delivers on that early promise, with a fun, whistle-stop tour through a vintage sound.
With an introduction and cameo from 70s Funk legend Bootsy Collins, the album acts as a 30-minute homage to music from the likes of James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis and Stevie Wonder, whilst also delivering something that feels entirely fresh and new at the same time. By magically walking the line between timeless and modern classic without overstaying their welcome, the pair have delivered a record in which you can’t help but get enraptured.
There’s the funky bass and dazzling wordplay of Fly As Me, the soulful sway of Put On A Smile and the smooth evening balladry of About Last Night, which also boasts a guest appearance from none other than Thundercat. Recent single Smokin Out The Window also remains a favourite too, with its playful tongue-in-cheek lyrics and infectious melody. Skate probably feels the most like its pulled from another time, with its wonderful Chic & Nile Rodgers style guitars and shimmering 70s dancehall groove. The whole thing is then brought to a perfect climax with Blast Off, which erupts into a mesmerising guitar solo and cosmic imagery to bring it all to a close.
This really is one of those albums that it’s impossible not to love, as the charismatic duo and warm nostalgic sounds will leave you dancing away with just the biggest smile on your face. Here’s hoping there’s more collaborations from these two again in the future but for now, An Evening With Silk Sonic will do just nicely.

CRAWLER by IDLES
Another big release but from the other end of the spectrum now, as post-punk rockers Idles released their mighty fourth album CRAWLER this week. Having come to prominence off the back of their highly acclaimed first two albums Brutalism and Joy As An Act of Resistance, the band’s last album Ultra Mono had more of a lukewarm reception by their standards, as some criticised them for class appropriation and more preachy political lyrics. It seems they have taken this criticism on board as CRAWLER is a noticeable return to form, with frontman Joe Talbot taking a more introspective approach this time around.
This new approach is evident from the get-go, as ominous, synth-driven opener MTT 420 RR sees Talbot recount the dark tale of a near-fatal motorcycle accident, whilst correlating this to his own struggles with drug addiction. It’s an engaging opener that immediately hooks you in, ending in the foreboding refrain of “Are you ready for the storm?” to nicely set up the full-throttle nature of the rest of the record.
From there, Idles mostly stick to the aggressive punk sound that brought them to the dance, with the pounding drums of The Wheel, the catchy beat of The New Sensation and the jittering guitar riffs of Crawl! standing out as some of the best moments. That said, Idles are arguably at their best here when they push the boat out a little, such as the waltzing melody of recent single The Beachland Ballroom or the distorted electronic glitches of Progress. The latter is undoubtedly one of the album’s best moments, with Talbot overtly expressing his struggles with addiction through repeating the words “I don’t wanna feel myself get high...I don’t wanna feel myself come down” amidst the crackle of synths.
Although CRAWLER ultimately doesn’t topple their best work, this is importantly Idles getting back to what their best at, whilst also expanding their horizons for the future. Not only are they looking inward for their song stories but they’re also experimenting more with their sound, which makes for a grimy but always fascinating listen.

Music for Psychedelic Therapy by Jon Hopkins
Electronic music pioneer Jon Hopkins also released his sixth studio album this week, inspired by the growing exploration of psychedelic-assisted therapy and an expedition into Ecuador’s ancient caves. As you can imagine the results are quite a trip, with Hopkins crafting some truly immersive ambient soundscapes. With this being the case, this is definitely an album where you have to be in the right frame of mind before you dive into listen, as an hour of these kind of instrumentals can be quite daunting otherwise. That said, given the time and concentration this one will reveal a glorious tapestry of colour and sound to you.
Although it ultimately lacks the more euphoric moments of Immunity and Singularity to put it alongside those records for me, I still found this one to be an enchanting record with which to destress and relax.
Listen here
Donda (Deluxe) by Kanye West
After several launch events and many, many delays, Kanye West finally released his long-awaited tenth studio album Donda earlier this year and…it massively disappointed. Clocking in at almost 2 hours long, it was excessive and bloated with West balancing moments of brilliance with plenty of tracks that left me completely underwhelmed.
However, for some reason I dove back in this week to the new deluxe version of the record and whilst the same issues of length and inconsistency remain, this does seem overall a better version of the album. There’s an additional track with Andre 3000 to enjoy which is always a plus, and the talented pair of Kid Cudi and Tyler, The Creator also get additional guest spots on several tracks too.
Most importantly though the track listing and mixing has been adjusted, helping the album to both flow and sound better than it ever did before. This is most notable on a track like Off The Grid, which seemed subpar previously but the added bass and refined mix nearly blew my headphones off this time around. So whilst this new version by no means fixes everything wrong with Donda, it is most definitely an improvement on the previous offering.

The Walls Are Way Too Thin by Holly Humberstone
And finally on the Albums & EPs front, up-and-coming singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone released her brilliant second EP this week. Opening on Haunted House, a gorgeous stripped-back piano ballad offering up an ode to her childhood home, the short release then moves into more upbeat territory with her excellent singles The Walls Are Way Too Thin and Scarlett.
Thursday then ends up leaving the biggest impression, with Humberstone singing out to a friend going through a rough break-up against a wonderfully understated guitar backing. If her debut EP didn’t mark her out as one to watch for you, then this new EP should certainly do the trick.
Listen here
Also out, also great: Things Take Time, Take Time by Courtney Barnett, Joy by Dusky
Tracks of the Week
Measure of a Man by FKA Twigs
On the singles front this week then, FKA Twigs made her triumphant return with this cinematic new track, which is unsurprisingly off the soundtrack to the latest film in the Kingsmen franchise. With rapper Central Cee also turning in a fire guest spot, it’s like a lost alternative Bond theme you never knew you needed to hear. Superb as always from Twigs!
Listen here
A Drug From God by Chris Lake & NPC
Another fun collaboration, Grimes and Chris Lake finally dropped their much-teased techno track this week. With an addictive central beat and Grimes’ typically hypnotic vocals, it plays out like a futuristic, dystopian take on Benny Benassi’s Satisfaction - which is obviously a good thing!
Listen here
Over Right Now by Post Malone & The Weeknd
Yet another star-studded collaboration! Superstars Post Malone and The Weeknd team up for what ends up being a fairly standard pop track, however its elevated when enjoyed alongside the pulpy action of the music video, which you can watch below.
Watch the video here
Everything I Love Is Going To Die by The Wombats
And finally this week, Liverpudlian indie rockers The Wombats released the fourth single from their upcoming new album, Fix Yourself, Not The World. With an infectious guitar groove, catchy chorus and typically sharp, lockdown-inspired lyrics from frontman Matt Murphy, The Wombats continue their winning run-up to their next record.

The Dapperly Duo, Chara and Frisk
Tumblr media
Name: Frisk and Chara
Frisk's Age: 17
Chara's Age:17
Frisk's Likes: White Chocolate, Pies (Any kind really), Making others happy
Chara's Likes: Milk Chocolate, Golden Flowers, Pies (Pumpkin Pie is their favorite)
Frisk's Dislikes: Carrots, Disappointing others, Peer Pressure
Chara's Dislikes: Carrots, Their Parents, Dark Chocolate
Background: Chara and Frisk were classmates back when they were on the surface. Frisk was normally the one getting picked on by the other kids, not being popular and over all being too cheery and weak. Easy picking for bullies, until one day, Chara stood up for Frisk and told them to back off. Chara and Frisk soon became friends after that moment and soon, even best friends! The two became inseparable, no matter how everyone tried to split them apart.
Eventually, enough was enough and the two decided to take a trip to Mt. Ebott, where the two would never be forced to separate their friendship anymore. As they made it to the underground, they traveled as far as they could until they were captured by Captain Mew Mew's crew. Chara and Frisk were sent to the capital where King Mettaton was trying to decide what to do with them. That's when an idea struck in MTT's head!
What if he had two human stars along with his vision of a perfect paradise? The two would be popular in no time, and not to mention the ratings! So Mettaton decided to appoint the two to be showbiz stars for all of the underground to see! And that's how the "Dapperly Duo" came to be, a true duo that can never be separated.....right?
Fun Facts
The rings around Chara and Frisk's hats normally levitate and circle around their hats
The orbs on their canes allow them to use magical abilities, so they can bring more pizzazz to the show!
Frisk looks up to King Mettaton while Chara is grateful to give them the life they have now
The Dapperly Duo's taglines are "The Frisky Frisk" and "The Charismatic Chara"

Undertale: PaperStory - Hotland Story
(I have decided to split Hotland and the CORE into separate story parts so as to not make the post like a million words long. I apologize for the inconveniences this may cause.)
Here you’ll find: -Beginning -Hotland  -MTT Hotel & Restaurant
Ruins | Snowdin | Waterfall | CORE | New Home | Post Neutral | The End
-Beginning-
After having barely escaped Undyne's wrath, the group takes a small break by the water dispenser, and have some water before continuing on. It is then that Paper notices that Chara has finally appeared again, where were they?! Chara doesn't really bother explaining, so Paper doesn't ask... Cue Stemphany tries to lead the group to the elevator, but then the blocking beam appears.
"WeLL, OkAY then." The crew tries to have Kongo fly everyone over it, and it works!.... Except, the elevator doesn't work. So much for that plan.
The crew walk into the lab, and they spot Alphys, the Royal Scientist, currently bickering with Mettaton about wall-related topics. When Paper and his friends try to get the duo's attention, Alphys and Mettaton awkwardly turn at the group, and Mettaton suddendly is like "..." "OH SHOOT, I ALMOST FORGOT, I NEED TO GO SET UP A DRAMATIC BATTLE SOMEWHERE ELSE. TODDLES!" And he just ditches Alphys and leaves her to try and make sense of what just happened.
Alphys introduces herself, and explains that that was Mettaton. "I-It's likely you guys know him..." She mentions to Paper's partners. (Theoretically, depending on your active partner, there'll be a different reaction. Kongo doesn’t care, and Merry’s just not a fan. Stemphany loves MTT tho.) Alphys upgrades Paper's phone, and sends the crew on its way, and warns them about the danger that is Mettaton.
-Hotland-
All in all, hotland does stay relatively the same. At least, up until you arrive at the first show: Cooking with a killer robot! In this show, there's no jetpack, but napstablook is going to be the cake tester! The crew must put together a cake to cheer up this SAD, SAD GHOST ;-;. You only get one try to make the cake, and napstablook will either give you a smile of approval, OR... dissapear through the ground because paper's baking skills are debatable at best. Should the latter happen, Mettaton will ask you to get an ingredient for him, as he will make the cake so that it doesn't actually kill ghosts, which will lead into the jetpack minigame.
The bomb game has the added twist that you have to actually fight off the bombs, not just deactivate them. And the final bomb becomes a mini boss whose timer you have to increase to be able to beat it, think King Bob Omb from Paper Jam. Once the crew manage to defeat the bomb bot, Mettaton opens a trap door under their foot, and make them fall into a deeper, hotter cavern section of hotland.
The area is a dungeon-like section, and there are torches that need to be lightened up. Somehow, though, they were already turned on when they got here... They decide not to think too hard about it, and keep going forward. Eventually, though, they come across Pyre whilst in the middle of trying to reach out for a flame a bit too high up for her liking. The crew approach Pyre, and he asks "How'd you guys end here? I was just trying to get home and chill out. You know, playing games, eating sweet coal... But then the trap door just, opened out of nowhere!" The little flame seems a bit exasperated, and she asks the crew for help which, Paper and the crew accept to do.
* Pyre has joined your party!
Pyre can light up torches, melt snow and ice, and can do stylish moves much more easily.
With the little one's flames, and the crew's skills, they manage to open the staircase that leads to the exit. Merry seems kind of cautious, since Mettaton could be just around the corner, to which Pyre is like "Wait, you guys are with METTATON?!" Paper is like "Well yes, but--" and Pyre instantly joins the party for real despite them telling him that MTT's kind of out for Paper.
The crew arrive into Mettaton sing along musical, Paper surprisingly seems to get stage fright, so he tries to hide behind mettaton for most of it. Meanwhile, Pyre is just dancing along with Mettaton- much to the robot's surprise. After the song ends, it leads into the tile puzzle section, but THIS time, Paper can't just fly over it with Kongo, as the ceiling was brought down a bit. He's gonna have to do it legit. He obviously fails, and it leads into a fight against MTT. Which is short lived because of the yellow mode. Pyre is not happy with Paper for having """defeated""" MTT, meanwhile Paper just feels something is off.
-MTT Hotel & Resort-
The crew arrive over to the hotel's doors, and what do you know- Sans is standing by the entrance. He offers the crew a nice meal, which Paper agrees to almost inmediately- so the gang kind of just follows as well. They all go inside the restaurant, and have a relatively nice meal. After they finish eating, Sans asks Paper to go out with him for a moment. Paper's a bit weirded out, but agrees to anyhow.
Once in the bridge that connects hotland to the CORE, Sans asks whether or not going back "home" really is worth it. He's got friends, food, and he could offer a place to stay... Paper nods, he is very well aware of that, but he'd rather be back on the surface. Sans just sighs, and shrugs. "welp, i tried." he says. He then goes on to talk about his relationship with the old lady behind the big door in the Ruins, and yada yada yada.
After their chat is over, Paper and Sans make their way back with the gang, who's almost done eating. And then Sans lays the bone-chilling question:
"so, who's gonna pay for all o' this? i only offered you to come, i never said i'd pay."
Everyone stays dead silent for a good bit, but Sans laughs his ass off, as he then says that he'll pay for them. The crew sighs in relief, and a bit later, the skeleton makes his way out of the restaurant, wishing good luck to the team. After they're all well rested, the group packs up their stuff, and heads into the CORE...

Now the duo from Hotland! Theoretically, here you’d fight Alphys instead of MTT.
Also those tiny MTT he treats like his children;;;;;

This is probably asking way too much for how much you've already done, but because I'm curious, I can't help but wonder, do you have any idea of a stage list yet?
I do have some ideas, actually!
AU / Place / Description
Undertale
-Surface You could say it’s the “Battlefield”, of AU Crossfire, however it’s set up on the walkway to the underground that’s seen at the end of the story.
-SnowdinTakes place in Snowdin town. Theoretical alt would add Holosky from IF.
-WaterfallFight against each other on the mountain that you face Undyne on! Looming figures may appear if you aren’t playing as Undyne.
-HotlandOHHHH YESSSS, fight while trying to survive Mettaton’s totally-not-wario-ware-esque minigames!!
-COREProbably just a regular stage tbh, with the mercenaries looming behind.
Inverted Fate
- MTT Resort Inspired on the Resort that appears on Chapter 37, the fight is taken outdoors, people from some AUs can even be seen in the background, relaxing.
-Fort AquariusBasically Shadow moses. This is where theoretical IF Duo’s codec-esque calls would ensue.
-COREBased on the CORE arc, this stage features seasonal-themed areas that are swapped around every 2 or so minutes. Note: bossfight not included
StorySwap Color
-Suki CityThink pokemon luminoise city stage. But it’s like, way more flashy.
Undertoad
-Luigi’s Challenge CliffA Tour stage with 4 transformations. The first transformation is the base of the cliff, a flat walk-off stage with water at one side and two lopsided platforms. There are no hazards.
The 2nd transformation is a flat stage (non-walkoff) with two platforms. Occasionally, the Koopa Bros will appear and attack with shell kicks from the background.
The third transformation is a mixture of Parakarry’s and Petey’s sections. It takes place in the deep abyss under the Cliff, on a flat stage with one platform. The stage has walls extending to the bottom. Petey will occasionally launch spiky balls that hit the stage and roll in one direction before falling off.
The 4th transformation is the top of the cliff. A flat stage with one walkoff (on the right) and a small piece of higher ground in the middle. No hazards but you get the scenic background. Luigi can occasionally be seen flying Brobot in the background. (this was contributed by Pat)
But I’d say this is just the tip of the iceberg, I’ll see about making a full list of stages later down the line..

The other AU I played around in a lot but didn’t quite make it to Being A Thing was Papyrus-Is-Marginally-Better-At-His-Job-Tale, in which Papyrus captures the human at the normal point after winning his fight. But instead of leaving the shed, he stays put to ensure they don’t exit before his meet-up with Undyne. And that’s... the one action that the story pivots around.
After an argument over whether the human’s capture warrants becoming a Royal Guard or not, Undyne and Papyrus end up “escorting” the human to Asgore personally, slowly learning the truth about humans, the barrier, and what they’re willing to do to achieve their hopes and dreams. Neither of them fully understand Frisk’s fate until they’re at the end of the hall together, at which point they have to make some hard decisions about what they stand for and who they stand with.
Magical fights ensue, MTT gives and gets an extreme makeover, Aaron and Undyne have a flex-off, Temmie is upset, Papyrus tries out for football, and Sans is definitely, not, in any way, for any reason, to the detriment of this journey, stalllllllllinnnnggggg foorrrrrrr tiiiiiime.
Undyne really wants the human’s soul, Papyrus really wants a promotion, Alphys really wants people to like her, Sans really wants to keep his promise, and Frisk just really wants to go home please.
I still kind of want to do something with it because it was 98% Papyrus/Undyne buddy adventure and I live for that duo. Not enough of them in fic, considering they’re the absolute highlight of the game. Maybe someday I’ll actually figure out how to end the story lol
