Aw dang I should have read these questions more closely I don't have a whole lot of that in the THORS rewrite yet..... but I won't leave you wanting, I'm gonna get some from the DOTD rewrite instead 🤓 Ten's POV.

The teetering aubergine finally steadied himself, and then his eyes landed on them. He froze. As the new arrival stared in silent shock, the Doctor had a terrible suspicion that he was now the only one who didn’t have a clue what was going on.

The marionette man came to life again all at once, now apparently in control of his limbs, and strode purposefully across the space between them. Without a word or even a second glance at the Doctor, he marched directly up to River, lifted her face in his hands and kissed her.

“A— wha— hello?!” the Doctor sputtered.

Though she had looked surprised for about half a second, River was not resisting this mammoth-chinned child’s advances at all. In fact, she seemed to be participating with considerable enthusiasm, so the Doctor forced himself to swallow down the very uncharacteristic impulse to deck him. Well— not that it was any of his business who she decided to snog in the woods in the sixteenth century without so much as a “how do you do,” anyway, but… No, this was just getting ridiculous!

“Who is this, River?” he demanded. “...River? Oh, now, come on! That’s just— you can’t just keep going like that!”

When the two of them finally broke apart, she made no move to put any distance between them, or indeed to acknowledge the Doctor’s existence at all. “What was that for?” she asked breathlessly.

“Do I need a reason to greet my wife?” the gangly tween murmured.

“Wife?!” someone squeaked, and the Doctor was mortified to realise it had been him. River looked nervously in his direction, apparently reminded that they weren’t alone.

“Don’t worry about him,” said the giant child, without so much as sparing him a glance. “How’ve you been?”

“I would’ve thought you’d be a bit more concerned about running into him,” she replied under her breath.

“It happens,” he said with a shrug. “And much more importantly, I’ve also run into you.”

River opened her mouth, paused, and let out a sharp breath in frustration. “Oh, you always have to be so sweet when I’m cross with you!”

“You’re cross with me, are you?” he asked, grinning widely at her. “That’ll be for something I haven’t done yet? Excellent. Brilliant. I mean, sorry. I’d be happy to make it up to you in advance.”

“I just bet you would.”

“Um!” the Doctor said, because he really didn’t appreciate the tone that last bit had taken. “Yes, hello, sorry to interrupt, but would someone like to tell me what is going on here?!”

“Shut it, Sandshoes,” said the baby giraffe. “The grown-ups are talking.”

The sheer outrage throbbing in his skull was making it difficult to form words. “The— the g— what are you, twelve?! River, who is this?!”

“My husband,” she answered quickly, turning to the Doctor with her face schooled into a calm smile. “Darling,” she said, evidently referring to the clown wobbling smugly on his heels at her side, “meet the Doctor. Doctor, this is, ah, —”

“I’m you,” the bow tied infant said, as River rolled her eyes and threw up her hands, “but cooler.” A second later he broke into another ridiculous grin, looking back to her. “I’ve always wanted to say that.”

Fixing Day Of The Diesels

The beauty of fanfic is I can make this movie as long as I want.

The story begins with Sodor getting ready for a busy holiday season. After too many bad reports from the Railway safety organization, Sir Topham Hatt decides to create a special team of search and rescue engines. He buys Flynn and Belle, two respected engines and established a base by the sea. Meanwhile a new diesel engine named Atta (short for Atalanta) is preparing for her first day on Sodor. She's shy, anxious and keep to herself. While Belle and Flynn are getting praised, Atta feels overlooked and ignored. But doesn't contest due to not wanting to perpetuate a negative stereotype of diesels.

Belle and Flynn wish to have a third engine to help with the workload and decides to hosts test runs. A lot of engines try out, but don't make the spot. Spencer, Henry, Gordon and James try out but are rejected due their vain squabbling and arrogance. Emily is rejected due to her bossiness, and the Logging Locos are flat out rejected. Edward and Toby don't try out because they don't understand the hype. The spot comes down to Thomas and Percy. This creates a tension in their relationship. Later than night a fire starts and Thomas helps Belle and Flynn put out the fire. This impresses them enough for them to accept him as an apprentice. Percy is disappointed.

The next morning While about to prepare for the usual mail train, Percy encounters Atta, who tasked with helping with the mail. Although Percy is a bit upset, Atalanta's promises not to screw up. By the time they're done Atta has already finished her route and it resting when Percy returns. He's surprised to see her finish that quickly. Atta shyly admits that a lot of people and engines make note of her speed but she hates bragging. The two engines hitch it off.

With Thomas he learns more from Belle and Flynn. He sees they also bicker at times; it turns out even perfect heroes have their off days and fight but are willing to set aside differences to do what's right. This leads to him starting to regret beefing with Percy. He tries to reconcile but gets sidetracked by a report of an accident near Maithewaite.

Later, Atta goes to the dieselworks to get some parts repaired and is appalled by the conditions the diesels are living in. Two diesels escort her inside and she finds more dangerous hazards. Just then the fearsome Diesel 10 slithers out from his room and greets her. He tells her that the diesels have been living horribly and he plots to get revenge on the NWR. Diesel 10 attempts to seduce Atta to his side but she gets anxious and quickly runs out of the Works. Angered by the rejection Diesel 10 vows to have her at his side whether she wants it or not.

Atta informs Percy she plans to talk to Sir Topham Hatt and convince him to fix the dieselworks. But her anxieties holds her back. Percy reassures her then takes her to the Steamworks to get advice from Victor. While travelling to the steamworks they stop by the grand station where Atta meets some of the steam engines. She asks them have they ever seen a diesel with a giant claw. The Horrified engines tell her that she met Diesel 10. Atta has never heard of him before so Percy fills her in on what he did in the past (referencing TATMR). Atta is terrified by such revelations but points out Diesel 10 isn't exactly wrong about the dieselworks needing repair. She just doesn't agree his methods and hopes to find the courage to speak up to Sir Hatt.

Later that evening Thomas Belle and Flynn answer another emergency. Thomas spots a diesel leaving the scene and calls out to them. A brief chase ensues and Thomas manages to catch up to them. The engine down finds out to be Sidney, who begs Thomas not to tell anyone until Sidney's driver uses a strange device to knock Thomas out. When Thomas comes to he is in the Steamworks with a concerned Percy and Victor at his side. Thomas said he saw a diesel run away from the scene of the accident and suspects he might've caused it. Victor adds he notices a lot more accidents than usual. Thomas concludes that Diesel 10 may be behind the accidents to sabotage the railway. Thomas decides to warn Belle and Flynn, while Percy goes to find Atta.

Later that evening another accident occurs. Atta was the last person at the scene and while she helps out she is blamed for the accident. Sir Hatt sends her away to the Dieselworks for a while as he tries to get everything sorted out. Percy doesn't believe she did it and resolves to clear her name. He finds Atta at the works and tries to convince her to come back. But Atta is too despondent. Diesel 10 sees this and has the green engine cornered. Atta begs for Diesel 10 to let Percy go by offering her services. Satisfied Diesel 10 allows Percy to leave, then proceeds to launch his plans. He sends his hench engines (illegally modified warships like himself) to infiltrate the steamworks, and other places populated by steam engines.

While Diesel 10 brags about his plan, Atta is very miserable but then she gets a vision of Lady the Magical Engine. Lady reminds Atta of her inner strength and to not give up. Atta gains a second wind and lies to Diesel 10 that she needs to get her things from another shed. He lets her go but sends a diesel chaperone to keep tabs her. Once she gets to a safer place she outsmarts the diesel and runs as fast as she can to warn Victor. The chaperone returns and tells diesel 10 that Atta has escaped. Enraged Diesel 10 decides to launch the attack and says he will personally deal with her, clacking Pinchy as he does. Warship diesels proceed to swarm the island, with some taking Tidmoth Sheds hostage. Diesel, Arry n' Bert, Salty Mavis and Daisy refuse to join as they're loyal to Sodor and plot to free their friends.

Percy is at the steamworks when Atta bursts in and warns them that Diesel 10 is planning to launch an attack. Just as Victor asks, a swarm of diesels arrive led by Diesel 10. He praises Atta for leading them to the Steamies but Atta retorts that he is nothing but a selfish bully. As Victor tries to reign in the chaos, Percy and Atta make a run for it. They proceeds to be chased down by a couple diesels but Atta proves too fast for her would-be captors and successfully escapes. Percy gets captured.

The diesels send a message that if Thomas doesn't present himself in the next hour then the hostages will get scrapped. Percy is afraid but seeing Victor and Kevin, he puts up a brave front and try to convince the friendlier Sidney and his buddies to reconsider. They reject at first but having grown to love Sodor and growing tired of Diesel 10's mistreatment they start to reconsider.

At Tidmoth, the remaining steam team (and Spencer) are trapped when Mavis and Daisy arrives. They pretend to be on the evil diesels side & leads them away, freeing the hostages. The steam team and good diesels agree to work together to stop Diesel 10. Spencer initially denies to participate but Edward reminds him this could be a way for him to make up for his own actions in Hero Of The Rails. Gordon adds the Edwards has a point. Spencer relents and agree to help if only they relay this to the Duke and Duchess. They steam engines meet up with Salty and Diesel and plan where to go next.

Atta rushes to the S&R team and musters the courage to ask them for help. She confesses that Diesel 10 asked her to join his cause and laments that if she took his offer the first time, things wouldn't go out of hand. Realizing Atta is genuinely innocent Thomas apologizes. He reassures her that Diesel 10 would've still committed evil acts regardless because he chose to do those things, like how she's choosing to do the right thing now. Together the S&R team rallies all available engine to help take back the steamworks. During the confrontation, a fire breaks out and everyone evacuates. While Belle and Flynn deal with the fire Sidney and Paxton renounces their ways and admits they were led to create accidents so Sodor could look bad on Diesel 10's orders.

As his plans literally burn down around him, an enraged Diesel 10 chases Thomas down. But with Percy and Atta's help, they lure him back to the dieselworks. The trap results in Pinchy getting seriously damaged, rendering Diesel completely incapacitated. Once the fire is contained, the steamworks are temporarily closed down. Sir Topham arrives on Stanley and angrily grills the evil diesels. Their human accomplices are arrested and Diesel 10 is literally declawed to fix Pinchy and to punish him for his actions. Thomas and Percy reconcile and Atta asks Sir Topham to repair the dieselworks, which he agrees to do. Belle and Flynn says it's time to decide the new rescue engine only for Thomas and Percy to nominate Atta in their place. Touched by this gesture, Atta accepts the position.

A few weeks later the steamworks reopens and construction begins n the dieselworks. Sidney and Paxton are put in charge of the works with plans to put a swimming pool for their drivers and firemen. Atta arrives in her new Sudrian green&red livery as a tribute to her newfound friendship with Percy. Then she gets a call from Flynn about a breakdown involving Spencer and Atta speeds away to enjoy her new life as a rescue engine. As for Diesel 10 he's essentially grounded from driving as his wheels are removed until further, and forced to listen to his bodyguards the Logging Locos sing country music.

So that's my idea for DOTD. Diesel 10 being a threatening villain and not complete joke, a good diesel MC who opposes him, Belle and Flynn being relevant and Thomas and Percy have a legitimate conflict that doesn't demonize one side or the other.

I watched ninjago as a wee baby, and I... Didn't have an issue with any characters. Then I came onto here, and saw that people have an intense hatred for Wu and Misako.

I'll get Misako out the way, cause yeah. Thats fair. It's actually really funny, because she didn't have a reason, but I made one up, one I firmly believed was a part of the show. You know how in PJO Nico passes a shitton of years in a casino where time doesn't pass properly? Yeah, I tought something similar happened, while researching she got stuck in a time trap, andwhile in her mind she left Lloyd at Darkleys for maybe a month or two, in reality she abandoned him.

Hell, I theorised that it had something to do with one of the Time Blades. You heard that right: I made a theory about something I made up. Good thing I didn't have Tumblr back then.

Wu then. I don't get the hate. He always knows whats up, so its easy for the writers to explain. But even without that, how was he supposed to know most of these things happening?? Was he supposed to just... Guess these random people would come back? Like Morro, or Aspheera? Idk what people want him to do, make a list of people he made enemies of (hes thousands of years old) and just trauma dump his students cause "Maybe they'll come back.

Theres two fair critisisms that he gets in my opinion: He should have looked for Morro, and he should have told the ninja about Acronix, who he new would return. (Quite literally a ticking time bomb, har-har)

Morro: Yeah, he wasn't the greatest at raising him, but I never got the feeling it was presented as if he was the perfect dad (or man for that matter). He should've looked for him. But then, he comes back as a villain, they can't exactly reconcile. That "Thank you, Morro" in Dotd is unfortunately all this father-son duo gets.

Acronix: You done goofed up sire. But! While S7 has it's flaws, what I like is that it admits he effed up. His faliure dream is one of the best scenes, so I believe this doesn't need any further details (Morro is also in his dream, so the show does acknowledge he didn't go about that the best way?)

Also, I have a feeling Wu and the Elemental Alliance didn't deal with the Twins the best way possible... One: Master of Earth, was manipulated by Chen, you should at least consider that happening. Two: Umm... Is it a good idea to just get rid of a whole ass element? You guys do know Vengestone is and was a thing right? You could have just... Imprisoned them? You literally have no way of knowing what this might cause... Damn, S7 was a glorious mess (But you can pry the Temporal whip out of my dead hands)

Oh whatever. Bottom line is: Wu is flawed, but not the personified dirt on the bottom of your shoe, and also, let me rewrite Misako pleeease.

Day 4 / July 19th: Fluff and/or Cole

ITS HERE ITS HERE COLE DAY COLE DAY. FM VNFV NJVFN TVJN CJRN JDCN DCJBVTN

time to spotlight some of my favorite Cole fics and also go see if anyone else has some hidden gems that I somehow missed heck yeah

A one shot where Kai and Jay have been using the video of Cole singing at Laughy’s to mess with him. Unfortunately, he’s not taking it nearly as well as they think he is. Canon compliant and complete. A short but very fun fic that I enjoyed very much <3

Ghost Cole beloved.. a DotD rewrite where the ninja are taking it easy Cole is gradually being forgotten, much to his dismay and panic. Incomplete and Canon divergent. Definitely recommend for the angst :)

At this point this is going to become a fic that every single person in the fandom has got to read at least once. A season 5 ghost Cole centric rewrite (though everyone gets their moments) I have no words for how good it is. Genuinely one of the best ghost Cole fics out there. Canon divergent and incomplete. Sincerely recommend it to anyone who wants a good long hurt/comfort fic.

CRIMINALLY underrated fic about Cole heading out into the city to take his mind off of his nightmares, only to stumble upon a dance studio that is exclusively open at ungodly hours in the morning. And maybe picks up an old dancing hobby in the process. Complete and mostly canon compliant. Mostly just fluff with some light angst. Very good.

^^ Double possession! It requires you to be logged in in order to read it, but big recommend. A bruise AU where when Cole becomes a ghost, he gets stuck in Jays body and they now have to share it between them while trying to fight a certain genie and sorting out their own personal infighting. It’s so good. Canon divergent and, unfortunately, unfinished.

A series of short oneshots where the others learn through various ways that Cole can draw. Canon compliant and incomplete. Very cute slice of life-y premise :)

Very short oneshot about Cole losing his voice after becoming a ghost, in honor of his late voice actor Kirby. Short but bitter(sweet) :) slightly canon divergent and complete.

Hdjsjhfusjwj ghost Cole aftermath my beloved… Cole has some struggles with water. Jay knows something’s up. Basically good old Cole and Jay besties with some hurt/comfort. Amazing fic. One of the first I read and I remember loving their characterizations so much. Do give it a read. Canon compliant and complete.

Jejeucudjnshchvh Oni… Cole… a beautifully written one shot that’s part of a series. Probably the best Oni Cole thing out there honestly. Cmdmsmfndjd I love it so much. After march of the Oni, Lloyd brings up a possible.. explanation to Cole, which the spirals into him discovering a new side to himself. Canon divergent, the original fic is complete but the series isn’t. Very good. Do read.

and now… the last one

^^ All the ways I say “I love you”. Yet another fic that requires you to be logged in. Aroace Cole :) a 5 + 1 + some bonuses about the times Cole never spoke the words, and the one time he did. Very good fic. Recommend. Complete, hurt/comfort, and very fluff.

That’s all for my recs today (this is nowhere near all the Cole fics I have read but like some were already mentioned by others and stuff so I tried to limit it a bittt) I am off to gobble up everybody else’s recs.

So a morro he definitely took the biggest hit because of my sickness so I'll have to elaborate with drawings as time goes on.

The concept of reworking morro is a bit harder than I hoped, because my reworks do effect how the story is written and all my ideas are too ambitious for the fact I'm in midterms. So I reworked morro's fate, if you want a more of "rework so deep that it rewrites s5" then I'll do it in summer break, so yeah stay toon.

(Also yes this is a lmk inspired style, I shouldn't draw sick omg lol)

-how is he back?

Tbh I am not sure tho I know i want him to be brought around dotd but the how is hard to pin point, I like to think of an idea close to "something went wrong as morro was retuning " which caused him to for a lack of a better term to glitch and turn human. He's not fully human ticnicly, morro is in a real reborn human body yes but his glitch caused him to keep some of the goust-nes. The goust remnant show in his goust eye, to show that the new human body and his undead soul are at unity.

-How is he? Where will he go?

He obviously would be confused and scared, I don't believe he would be in the monastery for a long while. I feel he would be in what I call "his tree house" where he trys to clear his mind. He's not isolated just needs time to prosses his emotions. I don't think more will be an official ninja member but more of an ally like dareth.

I like to imagine the gang to call morro because he has mad connections and dirt on people, and morro uses this to be the lovely smug grimlin that he is.

-How does the goust eye works?

Morro can swap between the human form and the goust form, the goust form has the ablity of gousts. Invisibleity, phasing and possesing. He isn't weak to water though, kinda. If morro gets hit with water in his goust form he'll be forced into his human for and can't go goust for about 12 hours.

Morro can go goust as he pleases but it dose tire him out.

-Dose he still have wind?

Yes he still does, still the same

- Design:

I do wana adjust it but let's talk about my ideas. I gave morro a gi that doesn't really match the ninjas or the sensei-s but still feel similar in a way, again like dearth. I plopped up mo's emblem on his gi and I tried to make it look more goat-dragon to separate him from ninjago Western dragon aesthetic but to make his emblem feel more personal. (I love the emblems can you tell?)

This is au category technicaly but I think it's a really fun idea to write, morro is such a great character i miss him and I'll never forget his biggest contribution to the fandom

I think one of the things that made the original series so compelling is how interwoven everything was. Sure, it wasnt always perfect, but each season brought to the table some new connections to the lore, some character growth, some advancements in continuity. Even if a character or subplot only lasted one season, you could still feel their influence on the story several seasons later.

Chen is my favorite example of this. He may have just been the villain of season 4, but his schemes introduced a lot of information about elemental powers, his defeat initiated season 5, and his impact can still be felt as late as season 7 (foreshadowing about Ray and Maya, elemental alliance stuff, etc.) In Way of the Departed theres even suggestions that Chen had Clouse use dark magic to corrupt the Time Twins, leading to their villainy and causing not just the plot of season 7, but also Kai and Nya's whole backstory. Clouse, having returned as a ghost thanks to season 5, is responsible for conjuring Nadakhan and starting season 6.

And on the note of season 5! That season introduced us to the Sixteen Realms and the Realm Crystal, which become important aspects of season 6, and Yang's temple, which became important in DotD and season 7. It also formally introduced Ronin and turned Cole into a ghost, which are *also* major plot details going forward. AND it planted the seeds for Wu's eventual character arc in seasons 7-9. This season's impact expands past itself.

A lot of times, not all the time but often enough, whenever lore gets introduced at some point in the og series, it gets utilized much later on. Captain Soto, formerly a one-off villain from season 2, becomes plot-important in season 6. The Golden Weapon is shot into space in season 2, melted into Golden Armor in season 3, then melted down back into the weapons to defeat the Oni in season 10. The Great Devourer causes Harumi's tragic backstory. Mystake, who started out as a background gag character, became a key participant not just in the show but the worldbuilding and lore. The love triangle and subsequent rift between Jay and Nya doesnt get fully resolved until season 6. The ninja return to the burnt-down monastery in season 6, DotD, and season 7, and eventually rebuild it in season 10.

See what i mean? Everything somehow ties back to itself. Its far from perfect, but there is a solid sense of continuity that connects everything in increasingly complex ways.

I think thats a big part of what makes Wildbrain feel so different. Dont get me wrong, i love Wildbrain and i enjoy a lot of it, but it definitely lacks the cohesion that had seemingly defined Masters of Spinjitzu. A lot of their Wildbrain adventures feel less like installments in a greater narrative, and more like a series of loosely connected sidequests. Exciting sidequests that are usually really fun to watch, certainly, but sidequests all the same.

With the exception of Seabound and Crystalized, you could probably watch Wildbrain out of order and not much would change. If Prime Empire or the Island happened before SotFS, none of those seasons would face any impact from that. They are largely episodic and detached from each other in ways the og series never was. But if you tried to shuffle up the season order in Masters of Spinjitzu, youd have to rewrite a lot of stuff to make it work.

I almost wanna say thats part of why Seabound and Crystalized feel like such a return to form, and why MotM is so well-beloved. MotM introduced us to Lilly, fleshed out Cole's backstory, gave Wu a lil character arc that built on what came before it (Wu feeling useless bc the past few adventures were done without him), and finally gave some kind of resolution to Lloyd's Harumi-related trust issues (not just referencing her, but actually giving him a character arc about it). Seabound introduced us to more lore about the world's history and the backstory of the FSM, gave Nya one of the most compelling character arcs in the whole show that builds on and satisfies her past arcs, even gave her name a backstory that ties into the lore, featured relevant cameos from prior seasons (Vania, Maya, the Keepers), and provided an ending that would have lasting repercussions on seasons to come. And Crystalized...well, i wont spoil anything, but you get where im going with this.

Now, obviously this isnt the only deciding factor of whether or not a season is good. Seasons 6 and 7 are a mixed bag in terms of quality, yet have very integrated lore and character arcs. But seasons 11, and 12, which many people dislike, are also the ones that most noticeably feel like theyre happening in a vacuum. Any effect they have on later seasons, or any effect prior seasons have on them, is not as significant or immediate as in other seasons.

With the original series, there was a sort of cause and effect, almost. Rebooted caused ToE, which caused Possession, which caused Skybound, and so on. Theres a clear and specific chain of causality, and the sequence of events has a large impact on the events themselves. The same cannot be said of Wildbrain.

Again, i do enjoy Wildbrain, and there are a lot of things i even think it did better than the og. But i definitely feel like it wouldnt be half as contentious among fans if it had the same cause-and-effect plot structure as the og. Like, something in ns11 being the inciting incident for season 12, and something in season 12 causing season 13...you get the idea.

Ninjago Fic Rec Week: Best Boy Edition (Cole)

I am summoned by my cosmic need for ghost cole content. all the ghost cole content. any of it. Already read all of @21st-century-ninja recs so here’s my hat in the ring with a few.

Meet Again What can I even say about Meet Again? One of the most beautiful and gut-wrenching fics out there. One about the pain and utterly ephemeral beauty of existing, wherein Cole and Zane meet their friends again after living for thousands of years. Don’t start it unless you have a lot of time on your hands, because it sucks you in. Sent me on more of a character arc than the actual characters. If you read anything from this list, make it this one. It will hurt, but it will be beautiful.

Spectral Flight A multichap about Cole’s experiences being a ghost. Haunting and ominous, but with a bit of levity to keep it from being overbearing.

Amidst Sandstorms the Stars Dazzle A fun fic about what Cole, Jay, and Pixal have been up to since the merge!

Sleepsong Another great one from Lloydskywalkers. This one explores the aftermath of the Possession finale, especially in regards to Lloyd and Cole. Ghost Cole for the soul.

Sharpen the Scythe, Before he Reaps A rewrite multichap of DotD, where Cole fading away is much more gradual and with a bitter sting to it as he tries to cope with what’s happening to him.

Everything up tip yesterday was a prologue Unfinished multichap. Slice of Life au where Cole is a ghost trapped/haunting the house when the others move in. Very sweet to see their relationships grow as they seek ways to help Cole experience the world again.

Beneath the Surface Everything Speaks Quick fic about Cole, and how being a ghost draws him closer to the earth. Very interesting read!

Ghostly Petals Quick Bruise fic about Jay making a flower crown for his ghost buddy. Very sweet!

Undone Lava one shot where Cole abruptly becomes a ghost again after a while of being human. It’s interesting to see how Cole isn’t even the worst one at handling the whole thing.

Once Bitten: Future Tense A follow-up sort of fic to Once Bitten: New Life where snake!jay comforts Cole following his transformation into a ghost! It’s very sweet to see Jay empathize with Cole through their shared experience in losing their humanity.

Acquisition Some platonic Sandstorm where Cole helps Morro with his aquaphobia. It’s very sweet to see Cole reach out like this!

Lost Soul Old but gold trilogy, where at least the first two have a good emphasis on Cole as he struggles to maintain his existence as a ghost. Pretty heart-wrenching to see. Between the first two fics, currently the longest ghost Cole content on the archive (for now >:) ) Very worth the read!

On the Floor Morro visits a trapped Cole on Day of the Departed. Quick one-shot.

Anyway, there’s my offering on the table until @cookii-moon comes to one-up me. I wish there were more ghost Cole content out there! Heads up, if you write a ghost Cole fic, tag it as such on AO3 and I WILL find it and I WILL read it. I am a hungry beast here to devour. Cole is my beloved blorbo, and I have been greatly looking forward to his day in the fic rec week spotlight!

I'm too lazy to get the actual tweets, but here are the Two Truths and One Lie from both Chris Wyatt and Kevin Burke!

I think from what Chris said, 1 and 2 are the most likely, because "Cloud Kingdom" could likely just mean "they're gonna make a new guy", and we haven't gotten ANY Realm of Madness stuff since s1 so it's kinda a given that we see it (and also I'd be really pissed if 3 is real bc that's what I'm doing for my DotD rewrite)

I think of Kevin's statements, it's definitely 1 and 3, because Ninjago is VERY known for getting INCREDIBLY silly!!!

Here's the cover for my rewrite of DOTD. I based it on the tatmr posters. The top feels empty maybe i should add more characters? Belle and Flynn were also going to be on here but i couldn't fit them :P

If you watch Bridgerton then you're probably familiar with Arsema Thomas (she's young Lady Danbury). She "voices" my oc Atta while Christopher Ragland is still Percy. Diesel 10 sounds like he had in Misty Island Rescue And since my version also serves as a sequel to tatmr Thomas has his movie VA.

Ninjago Season 7 in a Boat Sized Nutshell - So I heard that people have a hard time remembering this season so I wrote this:

(I mainly studied it to do a rewrite, post DotD AU)

TLDR; Twin Masters of Time, lost the battle to take over Ninjago in the past so, in the present, they work to go back in time so they can win the past battle with their new Snake Samurai army - also the Elder Twin is the reason why Kai and Nya were orphans.

For the long version; buckle up:

It starts the day after the Day of the Departed.

Cole is human, has new lava themed super strength/punches with the power of the staff of quakes and he has a cool ghost green scar (that is never talked about outside of a could-be-canon book: Way of the Departed; which takes place after S7 and before S8).

(TLDR about the scar; it's supposed to be a door to the Departed Realm that slowly gets bigger with exposure to yin/dark energy which means it's slowly splitting Cole's head open, and yes it is painful - this was considered too dark for the show - but they still gave us the Oni Trilogy)

The Ninja are at work cleaning up the museum after the events of the fight (the museum mess is mainly Dareth's fault though)

The Ninja have also decided to move into Sensei Yang's (no longer cursed) floating temple. Because of this Misako, Ronin, and Dareth are helping with moving day (but Dareth is just supervising because apparently he got a bad back after the events of DotD so Ronin and Misako are doing all the work).

Wu, meanwhile, is at the ruins of the original Monastery, waiting.

Back at the Museum, Cole is having trouble controlling his powers and Kai and Nya find a painting of their parents that was done a short while before they disappeared. (This is also where we find out that Nya was three when Ray and Maya disappeared).

(IDK where it was said but apparently Kai is two year older then Nya which means he was five when he became the man of the house - as someone whose parents grew up in Third World environments, a five year old with this type of responsibility is considered normal and acceptable especially when the kid is the eldest child who is expected to be the third parent).

The Ninja find a different painting of an Battle that took place almost directly after the events of the Serpentine War.

The painting shows Wu and Garmadon fighting the Hands of Time (Twin Elemental Masters of Time).

Back with Wu, the younger Twin, Acronix, has arrived in the present at the Monastery, exactly forty years after the Battle in the painting.

The Time Twins don't actually have their powers as their powers were put into four Time Blades made of chronosteel; the blade that speeds up time shows up in the present and this causes time to skip forward a few minutes.

Acronix beats up Wu and uses the blade to starts aging him forward, the Ninja arrive and Acronix escapes to meet up with the museum director who is in disguise and is actually Krux the older Twin brother who is now forty years older.

Krux grew with the times and hates technology (not like Kai, Kai accepts tech, Krux wants to destroy all tech)

Acronix is new to the present age and thinks that technology is the best thing to ever happen.

After the fight at the Monastery, the Ninja think that they won but then a Snake Samurai starts attacking the new Borg store.

The Ninja fight, Borg gets kidnapped and Zane is down for the count AGAIN.

Kai goes to the museum to get information on the Snake Samurai helmet that he was able to take (and we get a flashback of when Kai(2) met Nya the day she was brought home).

Nya tries to fix Zane (and find out what attacked him - and finds out that is was the Hands of Time but only finds out after Kai gets to the museum).

The Snake Samurai start kidnapping builders and when trying to stop them, Cole punches Jay into the trash (as in into the bin and close the lid)

Kai fights Krux and they are evenly matched (the only ones who are also evenly matched with the twins are Garmadon and Wu).

Krux tells Kai that Ray and Maya were traitors that worked for the Hands of Time. Kai gets angry, Acronix shows up to the fight, they beat up Kai, Nya shows up, Kai gets his second wind, they beat up the twins but Acronix is able to escape with his brother (and Cyrus who they kidnapped), by using the fast forward Time Blade.

With Wu out of commission, Lloyd takes over as temporary master in training (yes, they say it like that).

Nya keeps trying to fix Zane and Pixal is annoyed by her lack of skill.

The Snake Samurai start stealing metal this includes Zane, but Pixal uses his systems to electrocute the snakes, Nya's Samurai suit is stolen and then Pixal appears to go offline.

The Ninja try to stop the Snake Samurai from stealing metal, Ronin and Dareth try to help and Dareth ends up breaking Ronin's leg.

(The Snake Samurai stole Dareth's fake trophies - which he apparently buys from Ronin)

The slow down Time Blade arrives and the snakes kidnap Edna, thinking that she is a builder.

Jay saves Edna and the Ninja get the Time Blade from the snakes and bring it back to Yang's Temple.

(Zane, Jay and Cole decided to play with the slow down Time Blade. During this Cole accidentally cuts up Jay's stuffie, Mr. Cuddlywump)

The Twins, with their Snake Samurai army, attack the temple, break the Destiny's Bounty, and Lloyd almost dies but is saved by Samurai X 2.0 - a.k.a. Ninjago Queen Pixal Borg.

The Time Twin's Top General (the only Lady General) beats up the Ninja, takes the Time Blade, and kidnaps Wu.

The Ninja split up to cover more ground.

Lloyd, Zane, Jay and Cole go to the museum to see if Krux hid anything there.

Nya and Kai stay behind to try and fix the Bounty but they can't so they so they split up for their own personal missions.

Nya goes to her Samurai X cave to find out who is the new Samurai X.

Kai goes to get advice about evil parents from Skylor.

Lloyd's group finds a hidden passage into the sewers where they find Scales who tells them about the Snake Samurai and where to find them - they're in a swamp (Snake Samurai are called Vermillion Warriors and are the first generation progeny of the Great Devourer with the same instincts to consume everything - this is never explored)

Nya fights the new Samurai X (who is using everyone's voice except Pixal's), after which, she accepts the new Samurai X but she thinks it's Skylor.

Nya goes to Chen's restaurant, where Kai is talking with Skylor and Nya finds out that Skylor isn't Samurai X.

Kai tells Nya that their parents are alive and working for the Hands of Time.

The Jiang Smith Siblings are depressed.

Skylor comes back with two bowls of her favorite noodle recipe (the type that always cheered her up) so as to cheer up the Jiang Smith Siblings and she gives them good advice.

Nya agrees with Skylor's advice while also giving Skylor a back handed compliment (while pointing and waving her chopsticks in Skylor's face - like girl, rude, very rude).

Then the siblings get a call from Lloyd's group about where the Time Twins's hideout is.

The Siblings go to the Swamp to find their parents.

Lloyd goes to find Wu.

(Wu has been having nightmares about being alone, and about having failed Misako, Garmadon and Morro)

Zane, Jay, and Cole go to free the kidnapped people.

Kai tries to kills his dad before his mother stops him.

Kai and Nya get an explanation - Ray and Maya made the Time Blades that Garmadon and Wu used to take away and hold the powers of the Time Twins so Krux kidnapped them to work for him, as revenge.

(We also get a flash back that shows us Kai(5) and Nya(3) playing as their parents get kidnapped in the background)

The pause Time Blade shows up and is taken by the Time Twins then they go to the forge in the swamp where Krux was forcing Ray and Maya to make armor for the Vermillion Warriors.

In exchange for Wu and the cure for Wu, Kai and Nya are forced to retrieve the Reversal time blade from the Boiling Sea (a sea which is always on fire) and use a special dragon blade that is able to combine the Elemental Powers of Fire and Water to make the Fusion dragon so the siblings can travel into the Boiling Sea.

The siblings get the blade, then the Twins fast forward Ray, take the blade and escape back to the swamp where they were forcing Cyrus Borg to make a Time Machine Snake Mech.

Kai and Nya make the Fusion Dragon to get them all back to the swamp.

They all fight and Samurai X 2.0 shows up to protect Cyrus.

The Twins go back in time with their three generals and snake army, then Kai and Nya stowaway on the time machine with Wu.

The Twins show up in the past - seconds after their past selves dissappeared into a time rift - and attack the Elemental Masters and the Spinjitzu Brothers with their Snake Samurai army.

(We get to see Jay's Birth mother - Jay's rambling tendencies is both Nurture and Nature)

Change the past, change the future.

Kai and Nya pretend to be Ray and Maya so they can help out the Elemental Masters.

The Masters are winning so the Twin pull apart all the Snake Samurai including their Generals, so they can have them power/monuver the time machine to be an attack Mech - with the Mech, they get past Wu to surrender.

In the present all tech disappears, Ninjago City reverts to a pre-modern style, Samurai X 2.0 disappears, but no one notices because Zane has returned to how he looked when he lived in his father's tree.

(Side Note: Zane looks human again instead of just disappearing like Pixal - que the Zane is a reverse Pinocchio / use to be human theories)

Back in the past; Kai and Nya form the Fusion Dragon again to attack the mech, then Nya gets an idea and jumps off the dragon.

The water half of the Dragon starts to dissappear without Nya but Kai begs it to stay and the water dragon stays for Kai.

Kai attacks the Mech but eventually the twins decide to retreat by traveling to a different time; Kai tries to stop them but they dodge his attack and, in Kai's panic, the fuison dragon disappears while the twins time travel again.

Nya and Wu (who is cured) meet up with Kai; Wu had told the Ninja that, in the past, not long after the Twins had disappeared in the time rift, the Reversal Blade had been found by the Elemental Masters and Hidden by Ray and Maya in the Boiling Sea - so Nya went to find the Reversal Blade to cure Wu.

They then use the Reversal Blade to give themselves a second chance against the Twins.

Kai, back on the Fusion Dragon, picks up Nya and Wu - Wu gives his past self the Reversal Blade to hide and tells him and the past masters to drink obscuri-tea from Mistaké - then Kai, Nya, and old Wu sneak back onto the time Mech and it enters a time vortex.

Kai, Nya and Wu fight the Twins and Wu sacrifices himself to make sure Kai and Nya return to their proper time with the Reversal Blade to save Ray.

In the present, everything is back to normal, Zane is back to being a Nindroid and Samurai X 2.0 is back.

Kai and Nya use the Reversal Blade to save their father. Lloyd is now the leader and the search is on to find Wu.
