And there she was, right on time no less, although, he had expected as much. For all of her kicking, hollering, and resentful rebellious threats he never once knew her to be of an unreliable nature. Which for him meant that he could, in fact, count on her.
The ol' dusty shopkeep sensed something of a queue from his short-statured, short-tempered friend as she stood there before him bearing down with something of a glare so he took to pushing himself up from his seated position now lumbering over her in his lanky but over clothed form, his coat flowing around him as he did so. He kept a hand compressed down atop his flimsy striped hat all the while, offering only a shallow grin in greeting. The brim kept low as not to fully disclose his features. All the easier to avoid direct eye-contact.
"Well, now, you wanted to know more about where the others are and how to help so I gave you that list there. I expect gathering up the supplies went off without much trouble for you.~"
Despite his humble presentation he was met with tension, nothing he didn't foresee, the situation had gotten much more dire at an escalated pace. It was natural for others to be wrought with doubts and worry. Not even her sarcasm could mask it. Nor could his best efforts to supply a pleasant demeanor.
"The sooner we begin, the sooner we can find an end to everything. It'll all be over before you know it, Hiyori-san. Now, if you don't mind please bring the samples over to this platform." Despite her compliance, she made it clear that she was unsatified with the way Urahara had chosen to handle things, he listened to every word of her contempt but he had not much to say in return.
Truth of it was, it hadn't been his choice alone.
There wasn't time to explain, he turned from her, a dry swallow taking place. They would just have to trust him. Something stirred him while his thoughts swarmed, he knew that given their past it wasn't an easy task for her or her fellow vizard but it was necessary. He had a plan, it was the best he could do to put it into action.
And he had no intention of holding back. Not like those days in their past.
"When situations change we do what we can to readjust and adapt."
