i love when people ask me if a movie ive seen is good for [child's age group]. like for one, i have no kids and i dont regularly interact with kids. theyre a whole fucking mystery to me. kids are great but im so lost 24/7 with them. for second, i was the gothest weirdest kid on the planet, all my toys were regularly disembowling each other and drinking blood and committing crimes on each other even the geneva convention couldnt predict, i did some shit with dolls and string and knives. i cant use my child self as a litmus test here. and for third, my dad ran a used bookstore and would regularly sneak me the most fucked up adult media he could find bc i devoured that shit from the age of like 6 so like, what do i know about appropriate kids media? apparently owl house was too adult for this kid so maybe i shouldnt have recommended coraline and princess mononoke. oh well

Worst Decisions in TV History: Norm Macdonald is Fired From SNL Over OJ ...

i was up until 12 in the afternoon “last night”, i wish i could properly express my inability to care about what should be the most pressing issues in my life, its not that i dont care, i cant, and yet i feel so raw about things that happened so long ago they might as well have never happened at all could just as easily been a dream i had. i feel as though i was disembowled and a portion of my intestines were nailed to a road but i kept walking for miles while i unraveled, or like a bug smeared in a long streak. everything kept going but i stopped.

i want to watch all these different movies from the nineties and before, but it would be too fucking painful without her. the contrast of what i thought my life might be compared to the nightmare that i could not possibly have imagined, its too severe. i can never let things be too good for myself or too warm because it would only serve as a bitter reminder for when i felt safe and happy so many years ago. i cant even complain properly about it because its become such a monster of tangled threads that i cant even START, it is artful in its complexity, like the gears of a watch.

ive been having excruciating flashes of memories of her EAR, just her fucking ear, her cheek, her neck, love is the source of my pain, not grief, not her absence, but rather in a flash i can feel her warm cheek against my lips and then its gone and im transported what feels like to me from one dimension to another. we arent separated by time and space and circumstances, but something greater, i have spent my life pressed up against the glass of a bubble inside my own self, i am not nor have i ever exaggerated about this thing, it would be impossible, i can only ever understate it.

i love every inch of her and i did back then as well, down to the soles of her feet which i pressed against my cheek. i want to be nothing, i want to know nothing, i want to remember nothing. to love someone so intensely like this is a humiliation unparalleled. the pain is unbearable always, theres so much hubris in that phrase unbearable, there is an assumption of control. whats unbearable for you? what pain would be too much for you to bear? suppose i had you strapped down securely so you could not move and i tortured you beyond this supposed threshhold that you could bear, but i kept going, you being strapped down and powerless to stop me, what then would you do? you would bear it infinitely is what youd do, for me hope is the straps, that keeps me here, the rediculous hope that as long as i still breathe and so does she theres a chance, only i know how outrageous this hope is.

'The Idol' Is Officially The Worst Reviewed Show In HBO History, By Far

If there was any question that the David Zaslav era of WB/Discovery/HBO/Max is on shaky ground, it might be the fact that The Idol was approved to be released under the prestigious HBO banner.

The sex and misogyny-drenched show starring Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd was trash by critics, audiences, everyone, with some of its worst moments turned into memes. It was so bad there’s some measure of theorizing that the show actually pulled its last episode to end at five instead, just so it would be over faster.

In fact, if you want to visualize just how bad The Idol is, you can look at the grand total of every HBO and HBO Max series ever released. Out of 106 shows tallied, The Idol is ranked…106th, and by a good margin at that. Here’s the bottom 10, in reverse order:

The Idol – 19%

The Time Traveler’s Wife – 38%

Velma - 40%

The Nevers – 49%

Coastal Elites – 57%

Arli$$ - 62%

Little Britain USA – 64%

Entourage – 65%

The Vow – 68%

True Blood – 68%

That should give you some measure of HBO’s overall quality by itself, the fact that only five shows in its history are rated “rotten” out of 106 total, and by the end of the list we get into shows that are still considered classics of the service. Arli$$ was already regarded as universally pretty bad. I actually liked The Nevers and was sad it didn’t get picked up again. I don’t know much about the formerly worst series before this, The Time Traveler’s Wife, only that it starred Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones. I guess it went poorly.

But The Idol is on another plane of existence, 19% lower than other lowest show here and 38% below even the fourth-worst HBO series of all time. But it’s not just critics. The Time Traveler’s Wife and The Nevers actually have decently high, 80%+ audience scores. The Idol has a 41%. Everyone hated this show.

It feels like Sam Levinson from Euphoria was given free reign to do whatever he wanted with The Weeknd, and unlike Euphoria, the result was catastrophic. This is deeply embarrassing for The Weeknd on every level, from the conception of this project to his role and acting within it. I’ve never seen someone have so much control over something that makes them look so, so bad. It’s a rarified degree of self-unawareness.

This show should have never seen the light of day and HBO/Max/Zaslav/whoever needs to figure out exactly what happened here and how it can never happen again. They already took the HBO out of the Max name, but if they take the quality out of HBO, it’s game over.

revivedbur is so fucked up (affectionate) and while its frustrating seeing him talking about how he (known fucking pacifist who doesn't wear armor, only uses bows because theyre impersonal, physical embodiment over the pen is mightier than the sword) wanted to disembowl dream for how he was treating tommy during exile to going to saying that dream is his hero and saying that if dream had died in his place, that wilbur would be in there.

and that is frustrating, isn't it? but then you think about how long wilbur has been left with no one but himself in the void. think about how clearly mentally ill and unstable he is, left alone with his thoughts after being so deeply paranoid and so horribly suicidal after his own exile, and how he made himself into a villain because it's what he believed he was. don't you think that wilbur would think that he's just as bad as dream? he even said that he would be in that prison if dream was dead. of course he's going to sympathize with dream, for just a bit, even after seeing things from ghostbur's point of view.

you also have to remember that he only has ghostbur's memories. ghostbur didn't see the worst of exile. dream made sure that ghostbur was lost in the snow for a good portion of it.

and again, bouncing off what cloudienon said in this post, humans are not meant to go through the amount of pain and suffering that wilbur went through while in the void, alone, for thirteen and a half years (on top of what he went through after schlatt was elected president). just to survive that, he had to grow extremely desensitized to everything going on because it is literally the only way for him to cope and survive.

i do believe that he's going to get his redemption, and his healing. his symphony will come to a close, eventually, but people who are currently very critical of c!wilbur (and you have every right to be, i know ive gotten pissed hearing some of the things he's said), realize where the hell he's coming from.

your unohana is the funniest unohana ive ever had the pleasure of reading, watching her describe how she wants to see renji disembowl byakuya in detail immediately before giving him sword advice including the term loosy goosy made me laugh the hardest i have all day<3

One of the headcanons I have about Unohana is that she does care deeply about all her subordinates, about their wellbeing and personal growth. Many of the most anxiety-laden characters in Bleach-- Isane, Izuru, Hanatarou, all end up under her care, and I think she honesty does do her best to try to support their confidence and try to help them grow into their best selves.

But then, she's got this other level, where she just. Loves to fuck a dude up.

And then, in this godforsaken AU, I have given her Renji. Renji, in the absolutely pits of despair. He's just been kicked out of Squad 5, his self-image, which is dismal at the best of times, is in shambles. He's lonely. He's depressed. The only thing that's keeping him hanging on is his stubborn refusal to ever skip leg day because he's so convinced that everything will be fine if he can just fuck Kuchiki Byakuya up.

Unohana has never had one of these before. He's such a project, but he's also incredibly straightforward. All she has to do is convince him that to really be good at swords, you have to face your traumas head-on, now. This man already gets up at 6am everyday to do crunches and drink protein shakes, he'll do a therapy if he thinks it'll help. He'll do three therapies.

This wouldn't work at all if Renji actually were a junior bloodthirty murder machine, because it would be too easy for Unohana to fall back into the old ways that's she's renounced. But Renji's just a hardworking, earnest guy who wants to get strong, and he makes very funny faces when she makes jokes about putting people's insides on the outside and then just deals with it, unlike, say, Hanatarou, who would be actively horrified. I mean, there is literally a scene in the anime where Ikkaku tells Renji-at-this-same-point-in-history he's gonna kill him some day and Renji's like "sure, sir. cool. can i go to lunch, now?"

On one hand, I think it's obvious how much Renji would benefit from having a Murder Mom, but I think that Unohana would also love being a Murder Mom. I love this journey for both of them.
