Anyone else absolutely terrified about the Mando S3 finale?
So much is going around the internet (as it tends to do) about people wanting/expecting Bo-Katan to die in the finale. Vague and/or Cryptic comments from actors and producers and directors are fueling the flames and it's getting me all kinds of nervous.
Some root for her to die because they hate that she is 'taking the spotlight' or 'sidelining Din' or fill in the blank generic "i don't like having more than one main character" type of schtick. Other say it's the 'logical conclusion' to her story arc. That she needs to be redeemed for being a terrorist and they only way to do that is for her to die.
On this second point, I have to push back hard on this. Rewatch the Clone Wars. Rewatch fucking Rebels. She owned her bad choices and mistakes. Demonstrated massive guilt and regret. Refused leadership several times until Sabine convinced her through the rallies clans who chose to support her. And then, as she did the first time after the Siege, she was crushed by the Empire as all others were. This time was just 10000x worse than Gar Saxon betraying everything Mandalorian and throwing in with the Empire. So, what's the redemption she needs?
Anyway, I could go on a rant for AGES about this particular point. So I'll stop myself here.
There are others who want/expect her to die so Din will be motivated to take up the dark saber, take revenge, and then rule.
I'll only say this once: STOP KILLING WOMEN TO FURTHER THE PAIN AND/OR STORY OF MALE CHARACTERS. See Satine Kryze's murder as case-in-fucking point.
So, I guess the whole point of this post is to ask: is there anyone else out there nervous/terrified that they are going to kill Bo-Katan off in the finale? I just...I can't shake the onslaught of posts and speculation and rooting for her to die. It's so depressing and disheartening.
I need a hug.

Why Bo-Katan finally deserves all our forgiveness. (Spoilers for Mando S3E2)
And she's my Queen, I'll gonna defend her til I die. (And I need to get rid of all my thoughts and emotions)

That what depression look like. She doesn't want to see or hear anything anymore. She appears angry as she suspects Din is returning. She doesn't want to deal with this anymore. Repression and anger, she wants to push him off one last time, says she wants to get rid of him, until she spots Grogu. #depression throne
And now tell me she doesn't care about Din. She's really worried, no one looks like this when they don't care. This was clearly a mask to protect herself. She doesn't hesitate for a second to go and rescue Din. #tell her face she doen't care
Kind of excited but also sad and nostalgic to see her home. She never stopped caring for Mandalore, it was always her one and only dedication. And now she has a task to complete again.
Talking/bonding with Grogu. She finds it difficult to show feelings even to Grogu. And yet she shares her thoughts with him without hesitation. But you can tell her insecurity.
The last picture is what I call the ''Can you do that?'' mum look. Even though he's ''just'' a kid, she seems to trust his abilities.
Bonding time with Grogu continues. She's proud and sad telling him about Mandalore and herself. When Grogu is visibly scared, she tries to encourage him to find his dad. (Grogu purring like a cat is so cut) She continues to talk to Grogu to calm him down, telling him about her experiences with the Jedi, where she fought alongside them as friends, not enemies. Contrary to what has been heard from the Armorer, that the Jedi are enemies of the Mandalorians and even Grogu was seen as a child of the enemy.
She doesn't hesitate to put herself in front of him and protect him whenever necessary. Unlike Din, the Alamites are not a problem for them. #fighting like the queen she is
Of course it's clear that Grogu has already seen Mandalorians, the statement ''Your dad isn't the only Mandalorian'' is probably more of a tip, she can fight and protect him at least as well as his dad.
Just look at her, do i have to say anything else? Queen got her saber back like she was born to wield it. In contrast to Din, she doesn't seem to have any problems with it, it doesn't seem to be as heavy for her as for Din. She is one with the blade and uses it without hesitations.
''Din are you ok?'' I'm repeating myself. Like she didn't care at all.
''Din I can't hear you.'' Loved to hear her voice got so soft and worried.
She's just killing that thing with ease, like not a problem for me sir.
''I saved your life.'' That smirk and confidence. I think Grogu starts to like her or he's just hungry.
''He's quite the navigator.'' She knows what to say to get his dad feelings.
Still the bitterness in her voice as she reminds herself she ruled here not long ago and now it's all destroyed.
She's worried, she wanna get Din back on her ship. Her look just hilarious as he tells her he's not gonna come with her. Like what are you kidding me? You just nearly got killed without me.
Din still wants to go to the Mines of Mandalore and Bo-Katan just got her... what the fuck are you talking about, are you mad face.
''I actually think it's adorable...'' She can't really take him seriously that he's still holding on to his beliefs after everything that happened. And yet she doesn't leave him alone, she doesn't hesitate for a second to offer him her help even though he doesn't even ask. But just sassy as always like you're never gonna make it without me, you NEED me and she's damn right.
Sad face. But it's not the worst that she failed, that Mandalore got destroyed. The worst thing they bothered about is that the few who are left of their kind are fighting each other instead of fighting each other, the disunity and the hatred between the factions that are left. She wishes for her people to be reunited, even if it means burying her claim.
Bo-Katan and Din bonding time! Her telling him about her childhood, again kind of bittersweet, the way she was treated as a princess, the whole show and pomp, which is clearly not her style. I'm amazed that she opens up like that and I can't get enough of it.
When she says she doesn't embarrassed her father in front of everyone, does she mean someone else did it? I wonder why she says it like that. And I was hoping for some Satine content, which unfortunately didn't come.
The way Din just stands there and looks at her, I wonder what he's thinking, if he's looking for words to comfort her. If he just realizes how wrong he was, what he thought of her and what the Armorer said about Bo-Katan.
And he said with all his respect ''This is the way!'' After she told her dad died for Mandalore. I cannot describe my or even her feelings about that.
Genuinely shocked somehow, he caught her off guard with that. That's Bo-Katan without her mask. Like this phrase that bothered her all the time and now touched her heart.
And the her ''What are you looking at?'' after Grogu caught her off guard like... aww my daddy is a nice man right? She puts back her sassy bitch really quick. That's just so hilarious and I really loved that.
Bo just having so much fun giving Din a tour in the ruins of the Living Waters. She's really thawing and seems to have fun teasing Din about taking all those old stories and legends seriously like a little kid.
Do I have to mention again that she doesn't really care about anything and keeps asking if everything is okay with Din. Only that she is one of the few who really calls him Din and not just Mando. The way she first exchanges amused looks with Grogu until Din says his oath and steps into the water. Then her facial expression changes and I would like to know what she is thinking, but the sight may bring back memories in her or it may just touch her.
Bo-Katan is a though woman and you rarely see all of her feelings shine through, but this happened multiple times in this episode and it touched my heart.
Not to mention that she jumped after Din to the rescue once again without any hesitation. Or the complete overwhelm when she sees the Mythosaur. I can't wait to follow her further development with Din and Grogu. I think this is one of the best character developments since Ahsoka that we are getting.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Vader had found Luke as a small boy and took him so that Luke could become emperor after killing Palpatine? Like, Vader doesn't want to rule so he put his son on the throne which ended up with Luke actually doing some good in the galaxy, and probably certain king mandalorian wants to make a peace treaty with the beautiful emperor?
If Vader found out his son was alive when he was like seven or younger, I can for sure see him turning on Palpatine (who has clearly lied to him) but not turning back to the Light. He would take his son back and ensure he is taken care of, trained, but after his own victory, the idea of putting his boy through the pain that would be needed to become a Sith just doesn't sit right with him.
So, instead, he has his son have only the finest tutors. He is involved with the war politics and fighting, but only to ensure that he learns from experience (and even then, it is limited) and is looking for his son to eventually become a god in the galaxy.
Luke decides he would rather not become that but he doesn't have much of a choice so he decides to be a very good Emperor and is working to install democracy again (Vader: wait, wut) especially since the very beautiful angel in his dreams urges him to do so.
Then the feared Mandalorians come and their ruler, the intimidating Bo-Katan Kryze, offers up a peace treaty and urges Vader that a union with her "younger brother" (a former welder of the Darksaber) would be a grand spouse for the deity-like Emperor of the galaxy.
Vader isn't too sold on it, though he knows a political marriage would be beneficial, until he meets the man...who is already head over heels in love with Luke and is ready to do anything to be with him and protect him.
Vader: You're clearly obsessed.
Din: He is almost all I dream and think about.
Vader: Almost?
Din: I have a son.
Vader: Ah, fair....ok, you're hired.
Din: fucking sweet.
Luke is just hanging his head at his father's antics but does think the Mandalorian is really, really attractive so at least there is that.

So season 2 establishes Bo as a very driven and capable leader. She's a bit underhanded and she fights a bit dirty but that just adds spice. At the end of season two, through no fault of her own she does not get the darksaber. ok. Din has it. ok. I hated that personally, I didn't want that for him but you know what? There's drama there. There's room for some self discovery. We've all read the fics, we all know how fun it is to make Din Mand'alor.
But what's this? In season 3 Bo-Katan is arbitrarily knocked back to square one after not getting the darksaber. Her friends think she is a failure and unworthy of leading and it isnt even worth it to try and take back Mandalore anymore. So she's completely given up. Why? Why didn't she give up when she first lost the darksaber to gideon? Why did her friends stick by her then? Or why did they join her when they knew she had lost it?
What really throws a wrench in this whole thing though is that we are never given a real reason as to why Bo shouldn't have the darksaber or why her friends left her. She is never given a fatal flaw, besides maybe her refusal to murder Din (but this shows loyalty, something Mandalorians are supposed to value). But she is unworthy anyway, and her friends all hate her and she hates herself.
And now, this whole season is building BO-KATAN up as a capable leader, instead of Din. But we already know she's a capable leader! She was one last season, before the writers inexplicably decided to fuck her up and put her back to where she presumably was when she originally lost the darksaber to Gideon. And they've NEVER established anything wrong with her! The only thing she needs to do in this season seems to be regain belief in herself, which she lost because her friends left. And her friends had no good reason to leave.
It would have been so easy to fix this, too. Make her arrogant, or stubborn, or reckless, or in despair, or SOMETHING, ANYTHING. Give a reason for her and her friends to give up on her outside of the sword. Something that she needs to change about herself. This is baby's first protagonist shit.
If it was Din, this would all be very simple. He's never been a leader before. He's not qualified. He has no experience. He would have a lot of work to do, and it would take a lot for him to figure out that yes he is a good leader.
Anyway, as of chapter 22, Bo-Katan's arc isn't satisfied, but she got the sword anyway. She doesn't really believe in herself, and the people who gave up on her don't really believe in her either but she got the sword by loophole so they're rolling with it. Nothing has changed about her yet! "she's walked both ways" they have established exactly one clear difference between the covert and normal Mandalorians and it's just the helmet rule and she didn't like it. All they're actually doing is getting Bo-Katan back to where she was in season 2.
So why didn’t Bo katan just get the damn sword at the end of season 2 if they were just going to arbitrarily set her back in season 3 so she could become worthy of the sword she was already worthy of in season 2? Don't tell me in the next two episodes she's going to lose it and this whole season will have been an exercise in wasting my goddamn time.
Look I'm sorry to be that person but honestly. Why is this season about Bo-Katan? Why Is She Here?? Why wasn’t Din enough??? Why couldn't we just let The Star Wars Dad And Baby Show be about the fucking DAD AND HIS BABY

Okay so you told me to keep talking so: Boba/Din: Din very POLITELY asking for punishment because Boba won't stop being soft and he wants to be a brat but he doesn't know how when Boba will not stop being gentle with him. Boba thinks it's straight up the funniest shit that he basically asked him for permission to act up before acting up and indulges him.

Din was fucking frustrated.
It was thirty minutes to their usual bedtime and Boba wasn’t showing any sign of stopping what he was doing to come and give Din attention, no matter what he tried. He would knock little tools off of the workbench, which Boba would pick up quietly and kiss his knuckles for. He would harrumph and stomp around the ship, which would earn him a concerned look and another kiss to the inside of his wrist. He would press buttons he knew he wasn’t supposed to, and Boba would go un-press those buttons as soon as he noticed them, but wouldn’t say anything.
There was a bit of self-sabotage going on onboard Slave I, to say the least. The anger and frustration and all of the emotions Din had denied he had were simmering just under a boil, and he didn’t know what to do. They were still in hyperspace, and would be for several more hours. But daddy kept a bedtime, and daddy’s rule was law onboard. There was something crawling under Din’s skin, eager to come out and ruin all the nice things Din had now. So he paces. He knocks things off tables. He presses buttons. He makes little comments here and there which upset even himself.
And still, Boba didn’t look up at him with anything worse than exasperation.
Din knew Boba was going to leave him someday, but it didn’t make the thought any less hurtful to know it. He knew Boba would get fed up of daddying for Din, he knew he was going to become too much, someday, ask too much of him. And that anxiety sat in his chest, right under the surface, and made his heart pound fast when he said, “Why don’t you hate me?”
Boba looked at him sharply in concern. “What did you say?” he asked slowly.
“I’m obviously a brat. Why don’t you hate me or snap back at me?” Din felt cold all over, his gut sinking with the choice he’d made.
“...Din,” he said softly, his I’m trying to reason with you voice.
“No!” Din said. “Why?” he demanded.
Boba stood, crossed the deck over to him. “Because, ad’ika, you are mine.” He towered over Din, still in his armor while Din walked around in his soft clothes. “And I adore you no matter what you do. I promise you that.”
“But--”
“No buts.” Boba carded a hand through Din’s hair, and he was pushed just that extra inch off the cliff, tears spilling down his cheeks. “You are mine. I’m going to treat you with the care I always will.”
Din leaned his face into Boba’s hand, not hiding, but taking some reprieve, to gather his thoughts. “What if I didn’t want you to ignore it?”
“The misbehavior?” Boba clarified. Din nodded. “Hm,” Boba said thoughtfully. “Are you asking me for a punishment, Din?”
Din’s face went red. That was answer enough, but Boba needed the words. “Yes, daddy.”
It amused him, to be fair. He’d expected Din to be a bit shy about punishment, seeking softness and safety. Punishment hadn’t been something they’d discussed at length, usually it was one warning and Din was back to being Boba’s perfect boy. Boba kissed his forehead and gave him a hug. “Thank you for telling me.”
Din didn’t know quite what to do, now. What would they do? Would Boba follow through? Was he too bad to fix with a single punishment? His anxieties were once again at the surface of his thoughts, and it must have shown on his face, because Boba held him at arm’s length and looked at him. “Go wait in the bedroom, Din.”
“But--”
“Din.” There was a tone to Boba’s voice that made him shiver, something dark and promising and full of as-yet-unproven power. Din swallowed and went where he was told, sitting on the edge of the bed with his knees tight together, his fingers laced into a knot.
Boba let him stew in his own thoughts for several minutes before Boba returned, shutting the door behind him. He stood with his arms crossed, a frown on his face. “Din, do you want to tell me what you did? Don’t lie, because I already know. I want you to tell me.”
Deep, stomach-turning dread filled Din’s body, and he felt the tips of his ears go red. “I...” his mouth was dry. He swallowed and started again. “I don’t. Um.” He sighed, hanging his head a little. “I knocked things off the table you were working with, I made loud noises when you were working, I pushed buttons on the panel, and I said mean things...” He felt tears gather in his eyes. “I didn’t mean them daddy, I didn’t.”
Boba smartly kept his bearing, not letting Din know how affected by his tears he was. “I know you didn’t. Are you sorry for being a brat?”
Brat. There’s that word. The word that Din is.
“Yes, daddy, I’m sorry.” Din’s fingers folded themselves even tighter together.
Boba sat next to him. “Thank you for apologizing. It doesn’t make me happy when you’re a brat, so I think it’s time for a punishment.”
Din gave a confused noise. But he already...apologized?
Boba chuckled darkly. “Stand up. Pull down your keks.”
Din got up on shaky legs, and did as his daddy told him to do. In one swift movement, Din was pulled over Boba’s lap, his ass in the air. “You can hold onto my ankle, but you’re not allowed to let go if you do.” Din grabbed for it, something to ground him. His mind was spinning with how this might go. At the first swat to his behind, he was shocked more than hurt by it, and made another confused noise. “You will count them.”
“Yes daddy. One.”
Din managed to count them all with ease, until Boba picked up the pace and intensity, swatting at his sit spots at the top of his thighs, and even the tender skin on the inside of his thighs. At twenty, Din was hard, and slightly grinding on Boba’s leg. At thirty, Din started to tear up. At thirty-four, he cried. At forty-one, he was wailing and almost thrashing. Boba held him steady for the last nine spanks, all of them hard and blooming bright red marks on Din’s already-pink skin.
“F-f-fifty, daddy,” Din said through sobs, shaking in his lap. Boba hauled him up into a hug, careful of the marks on his ass. A quickly-slicked hand found its way around Din’s prick, and brought him off quickly. His boy cried through his release and collapsed all at once, all his strings cut.
“You did so good, baby. So good for daddy. I’m sorry that hurt, but daddy just wants you to be a good boy, and good boys don’t need punishments. But that’s okay, that’s okay,” Boba said between kisses to his head. “Daddy loves you no matter what.”

Din sending Vader holos of him holding Luke in his lap with provocative outfits is 💯💯💯, idk i have a thing for rogue Sith!Din that really doesn't care that much about the "ruling everyone in the galaxy" dream and focus more on making Mandalore great again and powerful just because it's his. And of course he loves to tease Vader/Anakin (mostly because that's his revenge to him for mistreating Luke, you don't value your son ? Alright see how much i fucking do) and Palpatine who cant really do anything to control this weird powerful horny Sith that doesn't want anything to do with them and can't be subjugated because going to war against Mandalore would be suicide even for the empire. So they can't do anything except hate him and play nice. Luke is oblivious to all of this and is enjoying the sugar baby life, i like Luke fighting for the rebellion and being badass but lately I've been obsessed with complying Stockholm Luke lol
This fandom needs more Sith!Din in general, because giving a badass Mandalorian bounty hunter access to the Dark side of the Force is just *chef's kiss*
And yes, I am very much into the idea of Din torturing Vader with Holos of him being a better Daddy to Luke in every single way. Honestly, anytime dark!Din and possessive!Dadakin butt heads, I'm a happy guy lmao.
