People bringing up Chayanne is a glass child like yeah this has been a huge thing and was one of the culminating points of the fight that happened with Chayanne and Tallulah last year. I love this family sm and I love the way q!Phil is portrayed as a flawed parent
I don’t think a lot of people realize that q!Phil is absolutely incapable of reading emotions specifically Chayanne’s. Especially when Chayanne hides them to act tougher and fine. It’s a double edge sword and it’s nothing that can be fixed if it’s not said to his face.
ex: when Chayanne said that he hated fighting q!Phil he IMMEDIATELY broke into “I’m so sorry” and apologized over and over again you can tell he felt HORRIBLE. He cracked the moment Chayanne started opening up about what he really felt.
q!Phil sucks ass at noticing when his kid feels a certain way and it’s something he KNOWS. It’s why they said they would open up to each other more because q!Phil just /cant/ read his kids minds. And Chayanne is trying his best to slowly let out his emotions and that’s GOOD.
It’s FINE. He doesn’t need to bleed right then and there. It will take time for him to process what happened and it will take time for him to open up and q!Phil will be there ready when he can.
And I know it fucking sucks to see it happen but I for one think it needs to happen.
q!Phil and Chayanne’s relationship is very unique and specific. They believe in each others abilities and trust each other to take care of themselves. Chayanne has always seen his dad as untouchable so imagine how he feels knowing that he’s not invincible?
Chayanne is a mirror image of q!Phil both in all the good and the bad. Things aren’t black and white as most people make it out to be and no q!Phil is not a horrible parent, he’s not a bad guy and no Chayanne does not think less of his father.
Having q!Phil in Chayanne’s life has been so important to his development and it’s been good. He just needs the balance that q!Missa brings. Because in all the flaws that q!Missa has q!Phil is there to pick him up and vice versa.
The death family is the most flawed, troubled, loved, imperfectly perfect family and it’s why I love them so deeply. Because through all the pain and flaws they prefer to go through it together. They love one another and support each other unconditionally.

Eclipse days (or the days missa and philza have seen each other):
1. First day in the island.
2. Adoption of chayanne.
3. Dungeon family trip with bbh, foolish and the eggs.
4. Rescue of the eggs that didn't happen because the server was really lagged. (philza was off-stream)
5. Rescue of the new members ("freezer").
6. 15 of september.
7. First day of purgatory.
8. Second day of prision.
Only 8eight days but those days are/were special. <tres

The one were Philza wakes up and they are sleeping

The creaking of old bones was the only thing that echoed in the room above the soft snores.
The muscles of his wings warmed satisfactorily with the stretch and let them rest again on his husband and children, unconsciously covering and protecting them from the outside world and the morning light that was beginning to come through the window.
The hibernation season in dragons is serious, as they grow years can pass, even millennia and the heart of the poor crow knows that he could not bear that anguish.
Reapers are also known for sleeping a lot when not on duty, something about living between the two planes of existance and something about how demanding it is to harvest souls.
Philza knows what that's like so he treasures having him right now.
Philza's eyes were heavy and he knew he didn't feel like getting up so early this morning, the pillow was still a little cold and the sheets around him were as soft as they were abundant, he almost wanted to get lost in the feel of the material under his wings and on his body. He rolled over onto his stomach and made a satisfied bird noise.
When the blond man finally ventured to open his eyes he got aware that the sun was just rising to greet the residents of the small home, which did’nt seem to bother his platonic husband for the way he curved in pursuit of some warmth sunlight. The sight before him turned Phil's heart into a hot, fuzzy puddle.
His husband, the father of his children and his partner was lying next to him, one of his arms innocently touching his bare bicep as if Missa needed skin-to-skin contact between them every night. no matter how small it was. Chayanne loosely wrapped his short arms around his father's stomach and at his side little Tallulah shrinks to fit perfectly between them so that the two children (as always when they sleep) seek the comfort that Missa radiates just with his sleepy presence.
The sight is more than enough to discourage the blonde man's heavy eyelids from closing again and he allows himself to absorb every little detail of the scene; His children fit together like pieces of a puzzle, like the siblings they are, their tails intertwine with Missa's, surrounding them in a soft and natural touch, his husband's hair is a mess and his daughter's satin cap has come off. at some point in the night so that there are two heads with dark, messy hair in front of him (he refrains from leaving a kiss on the forehead of any of them) Chayanne has the most relaxed expression in the world, he always has an expression of peace and delight when he is with his papá, happy to have the rest he has always deserved, Missa's skeletal arm rested on Chayanne's back securing his children against him in a loving gesture, and Missa-.
His Missa.
Phil's heart skips a beat and slow, and oh torturously slow, he puts his hand between the sheets, feeling around, searching through the things he knows shouldn't be in the bed but you can't blame his tired brain for forgetting to tidy up, pushing away Chay's float is that he reaches and finally gets: his camera.
He puts this closer to his own feathered chest and Missa squirms at his movement, he purrs lightly and one of his ears goes towards him capturing the slightest sound but he doesn't wake up and Phil sighs in relief.
Missa is handsome, even pretty, his torso wrapped in a tank top and the soft sheets, spread all over the bed like if he owned it all alone, he knows that if he were awake he would apologize very embarrassed for it but to Phil he owns more than his bed, in fact, he would get a thousand beds only if Missa suggests wanting more, without even really asking for it, and Phil will bring it to him on a silver platter, which is so corny he wishes he would die and never say it out loud.
His husband's bare face bathes in the soft light of the sun, cat instincts so deep in his brain that Missa seeks to revel in the sun he loves (that shouldn't make Philza blush as if it were about him) even in the realm of dreams, his head splayed out on the pillows, his neck so visible that he almost feels bad for watching so much that Missa's pulse is there, almost feeling it beating under his eyes but you can't blame him after barely having any sign of the cat hybrid, he can and will be greedy for his sleeping partner, thank you very much. The dark fluffy ears at the top of his head were like a crown in his messy black hair, so adorable that Phil wants to coo loudly at them but he stops himself, and finally his face, it should be a crime to hide such a pretty face behind a mask (the same with the soft ears and tail) but the angel of death knew well that it was for reasons of force majeure that the reaper had to keep this contraption close to him.
He was still grateful to have the privilege of seeing Missa’s face that others will never see.
Missa makes a squeaky whimper of his own and the blonde man fears he's woken him up only with the sharp intensity of his eyes (he may be staring at him a little too hard) but instead his face turns until he's face to face with Philza, crawling closer. so close. as the light of the sun allows him.
The moon is facing him and nothing should stop him from leaving a scorching kiss on those pinkish lips that seductively catch the eyes and Philza Minecraft was strong for many things but not really for this.
Philza thought about it and then his instincts called and then he thought again and a slow breath was crossed with what could only be a purr and the greedy crow just gave up; Using his muscle memory quickly shot a picture that frames the perfect shot of the golden sun covering in this light to his family as if he were wanting to preserve them in their sleeping safety, his beloved children are wrapped in a protective embrace, they are so lucky to be together as a complete family and to be able to see their starry eyes when they'll finally wake up, and finally his husband who makes Phil evaporate into little more than a domestic bird, the sky can be tasted from Missa's lips and he knows that with him the weight on his shoulders and on those of Chayanne and in Tallulah's will grow small, Missa is so liberating that he wanted to laugh right here and right now, but it is busy kissing his sleeping reaper's lips.
The loud purring was the only thing that echoed in the room above the soft snores.

Let's talk about Chayanne being a glass child. It seems that this has been a topic that has been noticed for some time, but I just notice the last friday! Xd
Probably because I'm a glass child myself, and yes I do kinn/kin(? Chay, so I take most of these behaviors as normal unconsciously (I had decided that I would use Tumblr only to upload drawings but since twitter didn't pay much attention to this I'll post it here too because I need to share my opinion with people).
First of all, what is a glass child?
It's a sibling of someone who needs extra attention/support. A child whos parents see right through them, like glass.
In this case Chay is a sibling of someone who is given extra attention most of the time, in most occasions not exactly because she needed it.
Chay is a glass child.
Theres no room to even try to discuss that.
Lullah is a kid who is constantly given extra attention. Whatever reasons it happens won't be important for this thing I'm written/sharing.
Lullah is seeing as the little sister. A little sister who needs, who must be protected above everything (which affects Lullah to some extent negatively but we won't focus on that this time). Lullah is seeing as someone weak. Someone who always will need help.
(I'm talking about must people on the server, yes including q!Philza, except, specifically, q!Missa).
Lullah is the little princess who must be protected.
Now, who is Chayanne?
Chay is the big brother.
The oldest.
The warrior.
The strong one
The protector of his siblings.
Chay must be strong, Chay must aim to be the strongest not just fiscally. Chay is forced to be this big, strong, brave leader who everybody can trust. Chay is expected to be the one wich his sibling can and must put to take every important decision if there's no adult around at the moment.
Chay is expected to be closer to act like an adult than a child.
When something dangerous happens Chay is not a priority. His sibblings are. Lullah is the priority. Philza must be sure that Lullah is fine before checking anyone else. Before checking if Chay is okey.
Because Chay is strong. Because Chay can take care of himself alone. Because Chay "don't need" that kind of attention to say it somehow.
I am a big sister, as I said before, a glass child too, so I have lived similar things, obviously not to a death or live situation but I understand the feeling. So, I'm gonna try to explain the feeling the best way I can for people who aren't a glass child.
As a big brother, as the warrior, the example, the leader, the protector he probably thinks that this kind of thinking is fine.
But I can assure it is not fine.
But I can't assure that Chay feels exactly like what I'm gonna said, because if he does feel like it, he would never show it to his dad therefore neither to us. He would do everything in his power to not show that he feels like this (I will explain why later). So I have no way of guaranteeing that he does feel like the following, either way he could feel this way and that's why we are talking about it.
Glass childs can feel jealous for theirs sibling. And it's an awful feeling. At the same time they can feel bad of being jealous of their sibling because they think that feeling like that is selfish. That They are being selfish by feeling that.
Because what right do they have to feel like that? Their sibling needs that attention. They can be fine without that attention. Thay must be fine without that attention. Because if they aren't, what kind of sibling are they?
Because is not like their sibling nor parents wants them to feel like they are being overlook. Because is not that their parents "loves them less". Is just because their sibling needs their parents attention more than them. And they must live with that. They must be good little kids that don't create more problems, more stress, nor to their sibling nor parents. Thats their job. To be one less problem.
The expectation of Chay is that he must be the one to fight for his sibling. Chay is expected to give everything in his power to assure the well being of Lullah.
Chay do like being strong, Chay do like to fight and protect. But when you are forced to the extreme of this things, of being strong all the time, of feeling the need to fight in every dangerous situation, to help, and to feel that you are always protecting and never being protected is exhausting.
As the big brother, the strongest, how could he tell ANYBODY that he is feeling exhausted of doing his job?
He can't show that that is making him feel sad, nor exhausted, nor any negative emotion.
Because he can't be a problem. Because he "doesn't" need more attention nor care of Phil.
Lullah is expected to be sentimental and open about everything she feels. It doesn't matter if it's sadness or happiness. It's expected for Talullah to show her emotions.
Chayanne is expected to be fine. Chay is expected to not show at the same extension his emotions as Lullah, nor his sadness, nor his fears nor any "negative" emotion. It is "normal" for Chay to not show such emotions. It's not something strange.
Because Chay sees his value on how well he can take care of his family, of Talullah.
He sees his value on how well he can perform as this big, strong, brave brother.
I will develop this using an example of Chay being treated as a glass child.
The last friday, Philza goes and saves Lullah first. Then Chay. This is not that big of a deal, but what is big deal is what he says when Tubbo started saying that he has a favorite.
"Out of this two, I know that Chayanne would be a little bit more okey being alone for a bit longer."
Chay is expected to be fine.
Chay must be capable of being fine.
Chay must be fine with Phil being more worried about Talullah than him.
Chay must be fine with Philza not being that worry about him because he has going to be okey.
And how does Chayanne react?
He said nothing. He literally didn't show any inmidiate reaction. He look at his dad for a moment and then look at what Lullah wanted to say. And just after Phil said that he is his little warrior, that he is strong, that he fight him and won he spoke.
He said that it was not great fighting Philza. And of course Phil said sorry... And that's it. Talullah is the one who mention (in a joke but still mention it) about Philza implying that he wasn't worry about Chay.
Chay is expected to be fine alone. To not need help as much as Lullah.

Death Family Villain AU
Phil of course Angel of Death, he is so swift and quick that there are rumors that with one touch he can kill you just like that.
Missa who no one has ever seen his face but if you look into the void of his eyes your soul gets sucked up and destroyed.
Tallulah whose powers can be compared more to that of a medium. She can communicate with the dead and sometimes they help her with information or with deeds.
And then Chayanne. Not many people know what his powers are or what he’s capable of but some say he can cheat death herself. Nothing and nobody can stop him and if they try… it doesn’t end well for them.
