Weeks have passed since their escapade and things have cooled down, they are still not back to normal but hey, this is something I guess.
[Name] finally, after nights and nights of debates with the little voices in her head, went on with her plan—her plan to tell her father about her dream to do her Iknimaya.
The night was calm, leaves and the hanging vines from the hallelujah mountains swayed softly with the wind. Calm chirping noise can be heard lightly. The clan was putting things away for the night, hunters and warriors finally resting, healers making their way out of the healer's tent. It is strange for the Omaticaya to have calm nights like this, hopefully it will last long.
[Name] walked around High camp looking for her father, she noticed how things were calm hoping not to ruin it with what she's gonna do. She quickly found her father sitting down and a stump of rock, sharpening his hunting knife.
[Name] stood in front of her dad, clearing her throat to get her fathers attention.
"What do you need?" Jake asked with an un-enthusiastic tone, dropping the knife he was sharpening.
"I was just wondering, you know, I mean—I'm kinda getting old now and like, don't you think, I mean I don't know but..." she rambled, trailing off and mumbling at the end.
"[Name]," he sighed, "get to the point."
"I want to do my Iknimaya, as soon as possible." she said, hoping her father would agree.
Silence. Silence filled the space between them.
A beat passed.
And then another one.
"No." Jake said, breaking the silence.
"Why?" There it was. Always, why? why? why?
"Because," he paused. He himself does not know the answer, was it because he is worried, because he wants to shield her from everything bad? Or was it because he doesn't trust her? Why?
"Because you are not mature enough." he said, finally finding the "right" words.
"Lo'ak is younger than me and much more immature and still he got his Iknimaya first."
"Your brother is ready, he is strong."
"And I'm not? Please, I am on top of my training. I've beaten the strongest of warriors so tell me, is that not good enough?"
"See! This is the reason, you are being immature right now!" Jake shouted, anger tainted his voice, attracting the attention of the people as they heard their Olo'eyktan and his first daughter fighting.
Neytiri heard their quarrel from afar, she ran straight to them to try and stop them.
"[Name], stop it." her mother warned, holding her wrist.
"And to answer your question, no, that is not good enough." Jake added, gasps can be heard from the crowd that formed around them. [Name] felt her heart break at this.
"Nothing I do is never good enough." she mumbled.
Jake didn't know what happened but he snapped, he didn't know why but he did, "Get out, get out! I do not want to see you right now!" he shouted.
"Do you ever want to see me, dad—oh sorry, I mean—sir?" she said in a mocking tone.
"You think you're so wise, huh?" he chuckled.
"Well if you're such an amazing mighty warrior, go do it, go! Complete your Iknimaya." he shouted, voice laced with venom. "Kill yourself for all I care!"
[Name] was stunned, "Sir, please—" she spoke with a shaky voice, She was scared, scared of her father. The one who was supposed to shield her from men who treated her like this. The one who was supposed to love her more than anything.
"No, no, no. Don't 'Sir' Me. You do what you want right? You're responsible right? You're smart. You're strong, oh so STRONG!" he laughed.
"Jake! It is the middle of the night, are you crazy? She might die, she will die." her mother hissed.
"Then let her die. She believes she is so strong, she believes she can do it, she wants to do it, so why stop her?" Jake chuckled once more, this time his voice was filled with venom. She did want this, hell, she wants it more than anything, but she didn't want it to be like...this.
[Name] couldn't process what was happening, she knew her father hates her, she knew that she was one of her fathers greatest regrets, but to let her die? She felt like a thousand bullets were shot straight to her heart.
"I hate you!" she screeched. She did not mean it, of course she didn't, she loves her dad, more than she will ever love herself.
But does he love her? "Yeah? Then go! Go and never come back!" he shouted back.
"Jake!" Neytiri hissed, the grip she has on her daughter's wrist loosens. [Name] noticed this, taking advantage of it and pushing her mother aside so she could run.
"[Name]! [Name]! come back!" she heard her siblings shout out to her, voices quivering; but she did not care, she just wanted to get away.
She ran and ran, as fast as she could, with no particular location in mind. Just running through the woods, the tall grass, the bioluminescent plants of the Pandorian Forest.
She found herself laying on the soft grass. Her eyes were blurry, tears running down her face, letting out whimpers and sobs ever so slightly.
She cried and cried until there were no more tears left in her.

It was stupid really.
When you think back on it, it was definitely stupid to agree to tag along with Lo’ak and the rest to wherever the hell they were planning on going. But you could not say no to Tuk when she asked you to come with them. She was your weakness and used it to her advantage.
You’d been silently weaving a new armband for your boyfriend, Neteyam, when his youngest sister had approached you, hands interlocked behind her back and the all too familiar ‘innocent’ look plastered on her face. You knew that whatever she was thinking of saying or asking you would end up in you ultimately agreeing to it, most likely getting you in trouble with your lover.
“Join me and Kiri to the mountains with Lo’ak. Pretty please?” She had asked, pouting and widening her amber eyes up at you as she gently swayed from side to side.
You gave in immediately.
It was sad how fast the youngest Sully got you to cave in so quickly. You had restraint with the others, even Neteyam, but had none whatsoever when it came to Tuktirey. You had such a soft spot for her and Tuk took advantage of it every time.
Should’ve never said yes, you grumble to yourself inside your head, head shaking to yourself as you struggled against the restraints the RDA soldiers had put you in upon catching you all when you attempted to leave the scene you weren’t supposed to be at.
Jake instilled it into you guys so many times to never get close to the abandoned shack. You needed asked why. It was something that Jake wasn’t going to argue about and made it very clear after his youngest son tried to pry the answer out of him the first time he mentioned it. Should’ve listened to Jake.
Everything went by so fast, you had barely had time to process what was going on before you were shackled in handcuffs and essentially held prisoner by RDA Avatars.
“Who is she?” A deep voice asked, pulling you out of your seething thoughts.
Quaritch had a good estimate on who was who in the little rag tag group he caught. The five fingered teens one-hundred-percent belonged to Jake Sully while the human boy was a result of the Corporals past. So, that left you and Tuk. He would give it a fifty-fifty chance that the both of you were also Jake’s kids. Man, he and the Missus sure was busy, he thinks to himself, smirking at the thought.
By the only Na’vi boys reaction, Quaritch could tell that you were something else to the kid. A girlfriend perhaps?, he thinks, best friend?.
Lo’ak knew he was fucked the minute Tuk managed to convince you to join in on their little ‘adventure’. Neteyam continuously told him to look out for you whenever he left to go hunt or do whatever their parents told him to do, threatening bodily harm and death if he didn’t obey. He had a bad feeling about the whole thing but regardless of it, still continued on with his plan. Neteyam was so going to kill him.
“Our sister,” Lo’ak muttered, the soldier behind him still had a tight grip on his queue, tightening it before he answered.
Everyone on the scene could tell that Lo’ak was lying. It was evident. The boy's ears were pinned back, mostly in pain, and his tail fell limp beside him as it gently curled in on itself.
Bingo, Quaritch thought to himself, more leverage.
“Hmm, I think you’re lying, boy,” the Corporal starts, inching closer to Lo’ak, “And do you know what I do to liars?” he asked.
You gulped at the man’s words. You could only assume his following answer would entail torture or death. You all were totally fucked either way.
Lo’ak refused to answer the man’s question, making Quaritch smirk even more.
“I punish them,” he answered, a sick and disturbing glint in his eyes as he stared down Jake Sully’s second son.
Anxiety spiked in all of our systems, making you struggle further in the soldier's grasp.
“Don’t hurt him,” you and Kiri pleaded, the soldiers behind you yanking back on your braided queue, making you cry out in pain.
Quaritch tsked at your response, turning towards you as he stalked towards your figure. “I’m not going to hurt him, sweetheart. Just you,” he finalized, pulling out a knife that was sheathed in its carrier on his hip.
You and everyone else began to protest at his words.
“(Y/N)! No!” Lo’ak cried out, trying to inch closer towards you to protect you but was pulled back by a soldier, hissing out in pain and frustration.
Tuk began to cry as she saw the knife inch towards your face before it dipped down to your neck.
“You fucking asshole!” Spider yelled out, struggling in the grips of the two Avatar soldiers holding him, surprisingly making them struggle to keep him in their grasps in return.
Kiri could only close her eyes in response, not wanting to see you get hurt in front of her.
You stopped at the contact the cold knife made with your warm skin, the temperature of it making you lightly flinch back at it. Your heartbeat rose increasingly within the confines of your chest, hammering against the bone. Holy shit, you thought, this is how I’m going to die.
As you looked around and saw your friends' reactions, you accepted your fate. You accepted that you were going to be murdered in front of them. You could only hope that your death would help the Sullys and Spider escape from the soldiers and Quaritch safely and unharmed. You also hoped that it was going to be a quick death. You didn’t want them to see you suffer.
It’s okay, be calm. Don’t fight back, it’ll only make it worse. Mawey. Eywa, please ensure the safe return of the Sully’s and Spider. And make sure that Neteyam finds only happiness after this, you prayed.
Quaritch had taken your queue from the soldiers grasp behind you, granting you momentary relief from the tight hold only to be replaced with an even harsher grip. You hissed out at the returning pain.
“Now, listen here boy,” he starts, pointing the clean knife at Lo’ak, making him look at him, “I want ‘ya to contact your Father and tell him that if he isn’t here after the sun sets, girly over here,” he gestures to you with the knife in hand, “Is going to be gutted and strung up on the tree line as a little surprise for your Daddy. Am I clear?”.
His words makes Tuk cry even harder, making the soldier behind her give up on her hold on the girls queue and instead hold her up by her arms.
Lo’ak reluctantly nodded at his words, swallowing down the gathering spit in his mouth. His eyes jumped from Spider to Quaritch to you, then to Kiri and Tuk. He was dreading the moment his parents and Neteyam arrived, knowing that regardless of how much they cooperate, Quaritch is going to do whatever he wants to even if that includes staying true to his words of harming you.
———
The three were close to nearing the old abandoned shack when Lo’ak called in again, the line going static for a second before he spoke up.
“Quaritch is giving you until after sunset to arrive,” he shakingly starts, anxiety clearly evident in his tone as he speaks, “Or…or he’ll gut (Y/N) and string her up as a welcome gift for you.”.
Neteyam nearly crashes into a tree when he hears his brother's words.
Quaritch was threatening the life of you, his mate, in hopes of riling up Jake. Well, it was working, except it was Neteyam who was riled up and not his Father.
All the boy could see was red as the three of them silently continued their flight towards your destination after Jake told Lo’ak that they were on their way and that the message was clearly received.
Rage boiled up inside of Neteyam’s body, causing him to slightly shake from the emotion atop his ikran. He was going to kill every single one of the soldiers there once he arrived. He’d do anything to get you back. Anything.
———
Everything ached.
From your queue, to your scalp, to your neck, and to the fresh new wound Quaritch left after he decided Lo’ak was taking too long to relay his message to his Father. He had sliced your thigh and stabbed the wound in response, jamming it into the flesh/plush of your thigh. You cried out to the brutal attack, growling out in pain as a handful of tears fell down your cheeks. Quaritch only smirked at your reaction, throwing you down onto the ground as the rest of the soldiers followed suit in discarding their prisoners, herding them into a circle.
Kiri helped you up, allowing you to lean into her. She quickly assessed your wound and deemed that you were going to be fine, as long as no one pulled the knife out from your leg.
Lo’ak held your head in the palms of his hands as he looked for any other slices Quaritch managed to make before stabbing you. He didn’t find any and sighed out in relief from that.
Spider had gathered Tuk in his arms and tried to silence her crying before any of the soldiers got inspiration from Quaritch and decided to punish the child for crying.
“Fucking son of a bitch,” you whispered between grinded teeth after the attack, trying your best to not yank out the foreign object in your thigh. You began to think that maybe you will end up dying out here after all, amongst the beautiful greenery of Pandora. Albeit it not being the way you wanted to go out, it still wouldn’t be the most gruesomest death you imagined happening. You just wished that you were able to kiss Neteyam goodbye one last time.
———
Furious wouldn’t even begin to describe the type of emotion he was feeling at the moment. There probably was no word equivalent to the emotion he currently felt.
Neteyam had ended up disobeying his Fathers orders of him staying with the ikrans, saying that he was ‘too emotionally invested’ and that his anger was too risky for what he was about to face. He thought it was utter bullshit that he wasn’t allowed to aid his parents in rescuing his siblings and his lover from Quaritch. If anything, it gave him more of a reason to focus and get everyone out of there safely.
He had managed to take down two Avatar soldiers in his search for you. He decided that they weren’t worthy of wasting his arrows on, slicing and stabbing them until their throats were practically open wide in exposure or had any time to process the pain. He’d been quick and brutal in his attacks. The more bodies he left behind, the more closer he was to having you in his arms.
His Mother had already released her arrow by the time he arrived on the scene, causing the other soldiers to shoot out into the trees and pull you all up in response. He was forced to hid behind a tree, eyes desperately searching for your familiar figure amongst the Avatar bodies and his siblings.
Neteyam’s eyes finally found your body, still in a soldiers grasp as they tried to pull you away towards where the others were gathering.
His gaze narrowed at the soldiers tight grip on you, robotically notching an arrow and drawing his bowstring back, almost immediately letting it go just as quick as his initial drawing of the arrow.
The arrow lodged itself in between the eyes of the soldier, it’s body slumping backwards as it’s grip loosened on your body, allowing you to follow its descent to the ground.
You groaned out in pain when your body made contact with the forest floor. You were too tired to move out of the way once you realized the soldier that had you in its arms had died, accepting your fall to the floor as gracefully as you could. The knife was still in your thigh, shooting electric hot pain up your leg upon being disturbed from the short fall.
You felt another pair of hands grab you and roughly pull you upwards, you screaming and kicking in retaliation. But just as quickly as their arms grabbed you, they let you go, a loud grunt and hiss following as their body was thrown to the side.
Neteyam had quickly made his way to you once he spotted another Avatar pull you up. He had unsheathed his knife and jumped on the soldier, causing the two of them to roll around on the floor before Neteyam brutally and repeatedly drove his weapon into the Avatar’s body, not stopping until he was certain that he caused enough damage to the fake Na’vi.
Stay away from her, he thought after every stab he inflicted, it’s not her time.
You had looked up when Neteyam delivered the final blow, slitting the insignificant soldier's throat.
You had never seen your mate this angry. Sure there were times where he lashed out at you after an argument or got so angry he hissed and growled at his brother for his ridiculous antics. But never, never have you ever seen him so vengeful. You didn’t even know if vengeful was the right word to describe how Neteyam looked like at the moment. But nothing else came to mind.
“Yawne,” you whispered out, desperate to catch your boyfriend's attention, wanting to get out of the line of fire as quickly as possible.
The teen whipped his head towards you, eyes dilated to the point where they looked like slits in his pupils. His chest was heaving up and down heavily, lungs taking big gulps of air as he did so. A few braids fell in front of his face, masking some of it as he looked at you.
His whole expression softened once he laid eyes on you. He could tell that you wanted to get as far away from the scene as you quickly could, that sad and traumatic look in your eyes at you pleaded with him.
Neteyam quickly shook out of his stupor and gathered you in his arms, being weary of the knife in your leg that he just noticed. Another thing that made him want to kill Quaritch himself.
“It’s okay, I got you yawntutsyip,” he whispered back, dodging all of the flying bullets and arrows he could as he weaved into the heavy forest foliage. His grip on you never faltered as he jumped over logs and ducked under stray branches to get you to safety. His whole body was on autopilot as he ran around, solely focused on getting you out of there alive.
Once Neteyam had decided he was far out enough to not be chased or caught by any more Avatar soldiers, he gently laid you down onto the soft grass, eyes quickly assessing your figure for any other injuries he should be aware about. He let out a sigh of relief when he came to the conclusion that you had no other wounds that needed tending to, softly bringing you into his arms for a warm embrace.
You immediately broke down into the hug, burrowing your face into the crook of Neteyam’s neck and wrapping your arms around his back to bring him in closer. Your sobs were a telltale sign of how distraught you were from the events that just occurred, brain still racing to process it all.
Neteyam softly shushed you as he put one hand on the back of your head and the other on the lower portion of your back, softly rubbing the skin in attempts to comfort you.
“You’re safe now, my love,” he whispered, kissing your hair, “I got you. You’re safe.”.
You relaxed into your lovers arms as he comforted you, feeling safe in his hold.
Neteyam had never gotten that blood thirsty before and that frightened him a little. If he acted like this when you were in trouble, can you imagine how’d he act if you actually died as a result of tonight’s events? He didn’t know the answer to that. All he knew was that you’re his and he’d do anything to ensure that it is not your time yet.

Masterlist | Tokio Hotel - Masterlist
Tumblr media
The crowd screaming our names, signs written how much we loved each other. Flashing lights, people jumping all over the place.
joy is contagious
And I loved it.
୨୧ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ୨୧
I didn't know how I got here, facing my enemy, Tom Kaulitz. I wish I was singing our new song that we just released, but no, I'm here with him.
Although our bands got along well, Tom and I never really got along since we met. Our publicists were in a meeting, my band and Tom's were talking animatedly, while he and I just stared at each other with pure hatred.
Of course, our friends tried anyway to make us get along, but with him, it was impossible.
୨୧ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ୨୧
It had been two hours and nothing from our advisors, I was tired, and I wanted to go home, but God heard my prayers, our advisors left the room that were and said they wanted to talk to us.
We all agree, but it couldn't get any worse. They said they wanted to make a deal, a deal that could make our careers take off. They said that they chose two people from each band to fake date, as fans shipped and made fanfictions with the performers from both bands.
I already knew where they wanted to go, they knew they had chosen. Me and Tom.
Shit
୨୧ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ୨୧
But that was many years ago. Today he and I are inseparable.
I love him and he loves me, I know that, if I didn't know, he and I wouldn't have gotten married.
I thank the publicists for that, and if they did this fake dating on purpose, because they knew Tom and I liked each other.

"[Name], Lo'ak, Neteyam, come with me. We need to talk," Jake said with a cold expression on his face. He led his three kids to a secluded area at the corners of the cave.
"What the fuck were you guys thinking?" He said in a harsh tone.
"Sir—" Neteyam started but then was quickly cut off by his father, again.
"You allowed them to do this, weren't you thinking? Not only that, you joined them."
"Sir, I take full responsibility for this, I'm sorry. It will not happen again."
"Yeah it better not. Now go." He said harshly, pointing to the direction of the tent they kids sleep in.
[Name] always hated this, her bringing trouble and Neteyam being the one to take the blame. Why did he blame himself? It's not his fault, it's never his fault. Why was he acting like this?
No one in their family has been the same since the return of the sky-people. Kiri practically lived in the healer's tent treating the wounded, planning and organizing funerals for the warriors that had fallen due to the war; they rarely saw her out. Neteyam was always in some important meetings with Jake. Lo'ak was always out in the forest doing stuff that would get him in trouble. Tuk became quieter, avoiding conversations and mostly keeping to herself.
[Name] buried herself in her iknimaya training hoping that the day that she was dreaming of as a young girl would finally arrive, or she would be out, causing havoc amongst the clan. Why is she doing this? She doesn't know, was it to perhaps attract attention from her parents? To anger her dad? Or maybe she wanted to get hurt to finally feel loved?
Is this a call for help? No, no it can't be, she doesn't want help, she doesn't want people to know what's wrong with her when she herself doesn't know it either. She should be the first one to know her own problem.
They were all in a bad state but her parents, god, her parents were worse, far worse. Her mom was more agitated as days passed by.
Her dad changed drastically, the arrival of his old enemies brought back the marine in him, he always had guns attached to him; it was as if the second he dropped that gun his family would be killed.
They fight more too. Fights between married couples are normal, they'd have a disagreement, they fight, they make up; it's a cycle. But this one isn't normal anymore.
They try to hide it from the kids but it's just so obvious. They've been avoiding each other for over a week. They talk less and less. Their fights can be heard from outside their tent, Neytiri shouting at him angrily and Jake fighting back.
They put on a charade in front of the people—that they are a happy family, staying strong and finding light in the darkest hours.
"[Name]," a voice spoke up, snapping [Name] from her thoughts, she looked around to see both her brothers gone, "you're not listening again are you?" Jake accused.
"No I'm—" she started but was cut off by her dad. What is it with him and talking over his kids?
"Eywa help me, she's a lost cause." he mumbled, rubbing his nose bridge.
"Can I leave now?" she said in a whisper.
"Just go." Jake sighed, pointing to the tent the siblings all slept in.
Tears were threatening to leave her eyes as she walked back to the tent. Though it was mumbled [Name] heard it loud and clear. She knows that he didn't favor her like Kiri and Tuk, she knows she disappoints him though he won't say it out loud, but to say she's a lost cause? It was like a dagger was stabbed through her heart.
She entered their shared tent and saw all her siblings sleeping soundly, except for Neteyam.
"[Name] are you okay?" he asked, noticing her teary eyes.
"Yeah I'm fine just...just the dust, it got to my eye." [Name] replied. Neteyam knew that it was a blatant lie but decided to let it go, though what he saw was a strange sight. [Name] never cried, she usually sucks it up and moves on.
[Name] did not get an ounce of sleep that night, she spent the whole time thinking about their current situation. How could her dad say that? Was she that bad of a daughter? Did he hate her that much?
What the sully family was and what it is now are so different you would think it was two different families. The once happy family has now fallen down. Like dominoes, bringing the others down with them. Such a pitiful thing to see.

synopsis: Late night talks. word count: 624 notes: hope you guys like this!! this was supposed to be really short with 100 words only but i got carried away and started rambling ab my own thoughts💀 this is lightly inspired by their song 'reden' it's one of my faves, that's where the "deep late night talks" idea came from. also please leave reqs for tom kaulitz (or the other fandoms i right for)!!!
🎧
The low grumble of thunder was what initially woke Tom. A flash of lightning from inside the clouds illuminates the room for a brief moment, the weather has been rapidly changing these past few weeks. Sudden snowfalls happening out of nowhere or lightning in the middle of the day—though the lightning never really hits the ground, always just in the clouds.
He reaches his hand to the other side of the bed where he was hoping to find his girlfriend—[Name]. A frown wrinkling his face when he feels nothing but the soft covers of the bed.
Another lightning brightens the dark cozy apartment, it startled him a bit but it did him a favor, it lit up the room as he looked over to the window and there she was. [Name] was sitting on the bay window seat hugging her knees to her chest, looking at the view. Though it was late at night and it was snowing and thundering, the city still was lively, red lights emitting from the cars on the street, warm lights from the tall buildings which allowed you to make out dark figures of the people inside.
Tom walks over to her "Room for one more?" he murmurs.
"Of course" she nodded, shuffling to the side to provide Tom space to sit beside her. Once he's settled, she leaned on his shoulder. Tom didn't really understand what she was doing, but nevertheless, he still joined her.
"It's wonderful isn't it?" she asked as she looked at the city in front of them.
"What?" he sounded confused.
"The people."
"I guess?"
She pointed to a small group of people—which seemed to be friends—walking the streets drunkenly, wobbling from side to side, "They probably just came from a club, group of friends escaping their lives temporarily."
Tom squinted his eyes, their apartment was pretty high up, but you could still see the people on the streets.
Then she pointed to an apartment complex, this one had warm yellow lights and a figure of what looked like a grandma knitting, "She looks lonely."
Tom chuckled in response, "You like watching people?"
"It's interesting isn't it? Everyone out there has their own lives, own problems, they're all the main characters of their story. We all have our own problems and we get too caught up on it to realize that it's not just us here, we exist with other people, other species. It really puts you in perspective, makes you realize that you're never really alone." she rambles, still looking at the vast city beyond them.
He thought for a while before speaking up, "Yeah...it's nice," he said though he really doesn't get how she's interested, but he was willing to listen just to make her happy.
She continued to ramble about deep topic involving humanity, talking about how "humans have always been humans", and "the human instinct to mark the world derived from a need for community or to be remembered greatly by society", all these are topics Tom didn't find interest on, but nevertheless, he listened, he always does.
So there they sat, on the bay window seat, looking out into the vast world beyond them, their words and occasional laughter echoing around the apartment. It was then they both realized how lucky they truly are, what are the chances they could've met? A guy like him and a girl like her? It's something you'd never expect. Something only from the movies or the pages of a book. The way the world worked was something that will never cease to amaze her—amaze both of them.
"I love you," he mumbled, pressing a kiss on the top of her head as she leans of his shoulder.
"I love you too."

For the sky-people—and I guess for some Na'vi too—having a daughter is considered 'sad'. It is as if bringing life to a female is something to mourn rather than it being something to celebrate. Why? Perhaps they think that women are useless, just an object of reproduction, a maid, someone who is 'not fit' to lead. What a poor excuse.
This caused troubles to the life of young girls, obviously. Hence, the old sky-people theory.
There is an old theory that first-born daughters were genetically predispositioned to look, act, and think more like their father, this theory was made so that the fathers would love their daughter instead of neglecting them simply because they are female.
Jake's first-born daughter, [Name], is a perfect replica of him. You'd assume Lo'ak was his carbon copy and yeah, indeed he is, not only do they look identical but even his and Lo'ak's life were parallel to each other.
But [Name]'s thoughts, speech, gait, and other traits are very similar to those of Jake when he was a mere teenager like her. The traits that led Jake into trouble as a child—his stubbornness, lust for adventure, pride, and bravery—were also the ones that caused him to become paralyzed from the waist down.
He feared his daughter would go down the same path he did, he could not bear to watch it. He was completely overcome by terror, slowly turning to anger the second the sky-people decided to step foot in Pandora once again.
They no longer had the wonderful father-daughter connection they had when [Name] was a young child; instead, they had become like bulls that constantly butted heads whenever they had the opportunity.
[Name] didn't get why this was happening. It had been like this since they had to move to High camp; perhaps it's because of the stress, there had been this tension amongst her family, like a thick atmosphere keeping them all away from each other.
Considering what [Name] and her siblings are doing, she and her father would definitely get into yet another dispute.
It was way past the eclipse but [Name] and her siblings are still out in the forest. Crackling sounds emitted from the small bonfire they all surrounded. The leaves from trees around them rustled at the wind's subtle blow
Normally, at this time they would be home eating dinner. But tonight it's different, Neteyam agreed to his siblings dumb plan to sneak out, who would've thought?
"You know dad will skin us when we come back," Neteyam said playfully to his siblings.
"No he won't, loser!" Tuk exclaimed, causing gasps and laughter to burst from the siblings.
"Tuk who taught you that!?" Kiri laughed in shock.
"[Name] did," she said, pointing at [Name]. Her big sister simply mouthed a small "fuck you" to her causing her to giggle at her sisters childish manners.
Their night continued on with chatters and laughter. As things started to calm down, and the topic of their conversation got less and less childish, [Name] decided to share her plan to her siblings.
"You know, I've been thinking, I'll tell dad I'm gonna do my Iknimaya soon," [Name] said in a whisper, a small smile of desire decorated her face.
Lo'ak snorted, "He'll say no."
"Lo'ak," Neteyam warned his brother.
"Well I'm not asking him, I'm telling him." [Name] shot back, rolling her eyes.
"He still won't allow you." Lo'ak said in a sing-song voice, as if to tease her. This earned him a playful smack in the head by his sister. Laughter can be heard from afar as Lo'ak and [Name] continued their playful squabbling.
It was almost morning when they all decided to return back to High camp. They quietly snuck in their tent, hoping their parents are still sleeping.
As they were getting closer their mother—Neytiri—opened the tent flaps hastily, the siblings stood in shock as their mother ran to hug them.
"Where were you guys? You got me and your father so worried, are you guys okay? Are any of you hurt?" she asked, stumbling over her words.
"We are fine, Mother." Neteyam spoke, placing a hand on Neytiri's shoulder.
Jake walked up from behind them, clearing his throat to get the attention. The siblings tensed up as they saw him.
"Kiri, Tuk, get some sleep." he said, hugging his daughters. [Name] was jealous, she was his daughter too, why doesn't she get that treatment? Neytiri took her two daughters back to the tent, leaving Jake with her three other kids
Jake stared at his three kids with an angry and disappointed look on his face.  [Name] and her brothers stood straight with their hands behind their backs.
"Sir—" Neteyam started but was quickly cut off by Jake.
"[Name], Netyam, Lo'ak, come with me. We need to talk."

[Name] thought that the chance that she and Aonung would make it back to Awa'atlu safe and unscathed was slim. The ocean was too placid for a normal night. There was a storm brewing.
"This isn't safe, Aonung, we should go stop at a small island and just...continue the journey home tomorrow." she suggested.
"Why? So I can suffer longer with you?" he scoffed, "no thank you." He rolled his eyes at her useless suggestion; going back to sailing to bring them home
"There is a storm brewing. For Eywa's sake Aonung! Will you just get rid of that 'mean boy' facade just this once so we could have a chance of surviving this!" she exclaimed, massaging her nose bridge.
"Calm down, freak. The water is so placid, there definitely won't be a storm anytime soon," he sighed, running his hands over his face.
"Yeah! That's why I know a storm is brewing—"
"Will you shut up? I'm trying to sail us back home and out of this mess!"
"Are you forgetting that you're the one that got us in this mess in the first place?"
He said nothing.
It was true though, he was the one that got them in that situation. It was his fault. He tried to trick [Name] to go out with him to hang out and start over, to put all the bullying and beating up in their past. He planned to leave her lost in the ocean. He knew that she was gonna die but he couldn't care less, though in the process of going to the place he was gonna leave her at, he realized that he didn't know his way back home. He had gotten lost as well.
Obviously, he never mentioned to [Name] that he original plan was to get her lost at sea. He was just too ashamed to say it.
"We are going to go home. Now. That is my final decision." he stated with a sharp tone as he stood close to her, facing her and pointing his finger to her chest.
"Fine, but don't blame me when we die." she replied, furious she pushed him away. "And get away from me, fish lips."
What [Name] thought, turned out to be true. A storm did form, and they were heading straight to it. The sky became darker, the waves got bigger and bigger. They would hear the sky rumbling. But still Aonung refused to turn back.
"We should turn back now Aonung, there is no chance we will make it through this unscathed." she suggested—again.
"No. We are going home."
"And how do you know this is the way home?"
"I just know it. Now quit being pessimistic, you're getting on my nerves."
"Fine, but if we get hurt or die, it is all your fault." with that, she went to the other side of the boat, away from him.
The sky roared loudly, letting out strong lightning and thunder. The clouds were just pure darkness. Rain poured furiously as the wind came charging at the water at high speed, creating gigantic waves. Their boat began to plunge from side to side, up and down.
The strong ocean produced huge waves in every direction, their boat was at the edge of breaking.
"I told you! We should've turned around, ugh how could you be so stupid!" [Name] exclaimed in annoyance. Angry at the Metkayina as it was his fault they were here.
"Shut up, freak!" he snapped, frantically running around their small boat, trying his very best to keep it afloat.
A huge wave formed right in front of them, devowering their boat whole. Raindrops felt like bullets to their skin.
There was a lighting, it had almost struck her, but it didn't; for before it could reach her, Aonung had pushed her out of the way. The lighting hit the boat instead, splitting it to pieces.
That was the last thing the both of them could remember before their vision went black.
She woke up first, finding herself laying on a wooden part of the boat—what was left of it at least—in the middle of the ocean, miles and miles away from home.
How long was she unconscious for?
She looked over to her side and saw the Metkayina boy laying beside her, unconscious. He had cuts and bruises all over his body, for a while she felt bad; she took pity on the boy. But then the thought of how much of an ass he is brought her back to her senses, he is a bad person, he deserved this.
"Aonung! Aonung!" she said, shaking him awake. He didn't respond for a while, tears were threatening to leave her eyes—until he finally opened his eyes.
His ocean blue eyes. She had always found his eyes mesmerizing, the first time she saw him she thought he was mesmerizing—though, she would never admit to this. It's a shame that he's such a horrible person, what a waste of such a beautiful face.
"Damn..." he uttered in a raspy voice, squinting and scratching his eyes as he was met with the bright light of the sun.
"Oh thank Eywa, you're alive." she sighed in relief. Aonung couldn't help but flutter at her concern.
Aonung sat up, looking around, trying his best to figure out where they were, but everything looked the same, blue ocean, blue skies, blue ocean, blue skies. "Where..." he spoke in confusion.
"...are we?" [Name] continued his sentence for him, "I don't know, stranded in the middle of the ocean with nowhere to go, I think?" she said sarcastically.
"Shut up," he groaned in annoyance, looking around more. He squinted his eyes, he noticed that there was a small island maybe three miles away. "there's an island there, don't know how you didn't notice that, I thought you were smart? Turns out I'm smarter" he teased, a light smirk formed on his lips, pointing towards the shape.
"Okay, if you're so smart, how do you suppose we get there?" she rolled her eyes, "we are literally sitting on a small piece of wood."
"Easy, we row ourselves there."
"We can't, this wood is too fragile, one wave will break it."
"So we swim."
"W-what? No. No, no, no absolutely not!" [Name] exclaimed, she wasn't dumb, stepping foot in those waters would be a death wish.
"Are you afraid?" he snickered, teasing her once more.
"Yes! We are far beyond the reef! You brought my brother beyond the reef and he almost died! Who knows what's in these waters? We could die, like actually die this time" she panicked.
"Calm down, you survived a storm." he rolled his eyes. "It's swimming there or nothing, don't tell me the ‘mighty freak’ is scared?"
"Fine let's do it." with that, they both jumped in. [Name] stayed near the boy. Holding onto his arm every time she hears a sound.
'You're gonna be fine, calm down.' he signed.
'Something is out there!'
'There isn't, now shut up and swim faster, you are so slow.'
'Sorry, I dont have such fat tails like you guys.' she rolled her eyes.
"See that wasn't so bad, it was so easy" Aonung bragged. They had finally, finally, got to the island.
"It took us three hours more or less!" she exclaimed out of breath.
She laid down at the sand, soaking up the comforting warm temperature of the sun. Aonung laid beside her, they both stayed there for a while, in silence; but this silence was different, it wasn't uncomfortable or weird, it was calm, the atmosphere was light, nothing can be heard besides the relaxing sound of the waves and the sound of the wind.
"So, what now?" Aonung asked, breaking the silence.
"What do you mean? I don't know, what's your plan?" she said, sitting up and looking at him blankly
"...I was expecting you to have a plan."
They look at each other with a blank expression in silence, "What." she said.
"Can't you call your Ikran or something and fly us outta here?"
"Okay, first of all, no I can't, we are too far away. Second, even if I manage to do that, how will we go home if we don't even know the way?"
"Well. Shit." he mumbled, running his hands through his face.
"Oh we are so fucked, I swear to Eywa, if you hadn't saved my life back in the boat I would kill you right now."
"Look, we'll find a way, okay?"
"I guess." she grumbled.
It was now eclipse, they surrounded a campfire, eating fruits they gathered earlier.
"Hey do you think they're looking for us?" [Name] asked with a mouthful of fruit in her mouth.
"Probably, I mean, your dad is Toruk Makto and he sure as hell won't let you die." he paused. "And as for me, I'm the son of the Olo'Eyktan. So yeah, the whole clan is probably looking for us."
She simply hummed in response.
"How long have we been gone for?" he asked
"I don't know, hard to say. Three days, more or less?"
"That long, huh."
A beat passed.
Another did. Silence surrounded them but it was not like the silence earlier, this one was heavy, like there were unsaid things that needed to come out of their mouths.
"So, Forest girl. I want to know more about you, I mean, we haven't been really the best of friends or friends at all, but seems like we'll be together for a while"
"Wow, did I just get promoted from 'freak' to 'forest girl'?" she said sarcastically, faking a shocked expression.
"I'm serious." he laughed.
"Okay, so what do you wanna know?" she asked, a slight smile on her face.
"How old are you?"
"14, you?"
"15."
"How do you like it here? I mean—back home I guess."
She paused for a while, "It's okay I guess, I don't know, it's a bit too calm for me." she mumbled.
"Too calm?"
"Yeah, I liked being in the war, I know that sounds horrible but it's all I've ever known." she said, voice barely above a whisper, looking down at the fruit in her hand.
He said nothing. Another silence surrounded the atmosphere around them.
"We should rest for the night, let's try to explore the island tomorrow, yeah?" he suggested.
"Yeah we should."
With that, they both layed down on the makeshift mat formed from leaves. None of them could sleep for that night, many things were left unsaid, and it bugged them.

Back in high camp, the family was a mess, the clan was a mess. The crowd went silent as she ran, looking over their Olo'eyktan, hoping he'd do something; run after her, or shout at her to come back, at least. But he didn't do anything.
The clan didn't know what to do, or what to feel, they had never seen this happen; this was new. As much as they were annoyed by that Sully kid, they couldn't help but to feel a tinge of worry.
Neytiri dragged Jake back to their tent, holding him by the ear, as Mo'at shooed the prying people away.
"What were you thinking?" Neytiri hissed once they reached a secluded area of their tent.
"What? It's not my fault that she was stupid enough to actually go." he scoffed.
"She could die, Jake." Neytiri said, her voice breaking, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
Suddenly, Jake was hit with a terrible realization. He killed his daughter.
His ears laid flat on his skull. His heart thumping as if it was gonna burst out of his chest.
How could he do this?
Why did he do this?
Why did this happen?
What happened?
Millions of questions ran through his head. His memories with his daughter played back from the beginning, her first word, her first few steps, her first hunt, their first fight.
His mind played every single memory, looking  for the one that ruined them. But he couldn't find it, it was like it was erased from his life, deleted. Or maybe he just was not looking harder, scared that he would see what he does not want to see.
He heard cries, snapping him from his thoughts. Looking up, he was greeted with the sight of his family in a state of desolation.
He hated this. He hated himself. Something in him changed, snapping back to what he used to be; a father that loved his daughter. In that moment he would do anything. Anything.
"Neteyam, Lo'ak. Come with me, we'll look for her. Kiri, stay here with your mother and Tuk, arrange a search party, get the best hunters, fighter, healers—just anyone." he ordered, his voice laced with desperation
He would do anything to find her, he would send out an army for her. All he wanted was his little girl back. He was willing to do anything.
[Name] found herself standing in the entrance of the Ikran rookery. It was dark, the bioluminescent plants being the only lighting up the way. The cold wind brushed against her skin.
She started to walk in with hesitance.
Why was she hesitating?
She did want this, right?
Right?
Regardless of her skepticism, she continued to walk in. Heart pounding fast.
The Ikran rookery was majestic, there were many Ikrans, all of different colors. All of the Ikran were asleep, but one awoke the second she walked in. At first she didn't see it. It sat in the corner near the vines alone.
The Ikran was a beautiful dark blue-purple color, getting darker and darker as it reached the tail, it was the color of the midnight sky. It had green freckle-like dots surrounding its body, making it easier for it to blend in the dark forests of Pandora.
Before [Name] could admire its beauty, the Ikran launched towards her, knocking her down. Quickly, she held on to its neck and managed to swing herself on it.
The Ikran screeched, trying its very best to shake her off. She grabbed her queue to connect it to the Ikran, but, before she managed to make the bond, the Ikran jumped off the cliff; taking her down with it.
"Shit." she whispered to herself, breathing rapidly, as she was falling down.
"Oh fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck!" she cried as she noticed she was nearing the ground. Quickly, she grabbed her queue and connected it to the Ikran, she felt the bond being made, she felt what he felt, what he thinks, his heartbeat, his breath, everything.
But still it did nothing, the ground was only a few feet away, she panicked, breath getting faster and faster. She did not want to die.
Not yet.
Not here.
Not like this.
Her Ikran kept screeching, panicking as well.
"Just shut up and fly straight!" she shouted, the ground being very very close to them. The Ikran quickly flew up, saving both of them.
They soared around the sky, and just then [Name] felt true freedom her whole life. She felt the cold breeze on her skin and the wind hugged her.
"Woooo! This is awesome!" she exclaimed in happiness, letting her arms spread out as her Ikran flew to the horizon.
Hours have passed, [Name] sat on the edge of a cliff with her new found friend right beside her.
"So...bud, what should I name you?" she asked, lightly nudging her Ikran.
"What do you feel about Jo?" she said, a slight giggle leaving her lips. The Ikran nudged her, burying his head on her shoulder.
"I think that's a yes," she laughed. "so Jo, do you think we should come back?"
Jo didn't react.
Should she come back? No her father would kill her
But what about her siblings?
Her mom?
Spider. What about all that?
What would Jake think?

I promise it wont affect the plot in the future (spider and readers relation might be mentioned though). I understand you guys don't like spider but like I think his character is so interesting so yeah. Also to explain the title, the line "coal to diamond, sold to fools" refers to the myth that diamonds come from coal, they don't, but some people believe it. I like to think of it as a metaphor, that the family is fake, you only see what you want to see—like they produce coal but you see diamond, and people are fools to believe it, get it? Anyway sorry for the long ramble, I just want to show people my thought process for the chapter name, if you want to ask about the last chapters title, just go to my "chat box"!! 🎧
The morning after the incident Jake grounded them from flying, forbidden them from getting out. This did not apply to [Name], she didn't have an Ikran she's always stuck there anyway—well that's what Jake believes.
All those times stuck in the cave that High camp resided, she had found herself a way out. At the darkest part of the cave, the very back, there was a small opening able to fit girls her age. She gathered the vines around to make herself a small rope to help her get in and out the cave.
As she was getting out someone behind her spoke up, "[Name] what are you doing, you're already in so much trouble as it is, don't make it worse."
She looked back to see who it was, and to no surprise it was Neteyam.
"Relax, I’m just meeting up with Spider," she replied.
Spider was her best friend, the human boy who was left behind. Jake and Neytiri referred to him as the "stray cat" who started following them. It was as clear as a clean glass window that her parents hated Spider, he's their enemy's son after all; but is that a good enough reason to hate him?
Some people of the clan, mainly the older and more mature ones, praise Neytiri and Jake for "taking him in ''. They get praised because people think they love him. They get praised for the facade they put up, it's crazy that the people believe them, what a bunch of fools.
In a way, [Name] and Spider relate to each other. Both feel like they don't belong, with [Name] not being able to achieve anything whilst all her siblings have already done a lot, and with spider not being Na'vi—getting called a "Demon"—and being left behind by the humans—his family—the only ones that truly cared for him.
The truth is, he has no family. The Sully's are the closest thing he has to one, but even they hate him; he could feel it in Jake and Neytiri's stares, he could feel how their eyes peered into his with hatred.
They were sitting on a small island in the Hallelujah mountains, just near High camp. The sky was an amazing shade of light blue, the light of the sun hitting the white soft clouds perfectly making some parts of it look like they glow
"I mean—I just don't get it, what did I do wrong? Why does your mom and dad hate me?" Spider ranted to [Name], gesturing his hands to the cave where High camp is.
"Stop moving! Do you want to mess up your braid?" she exclaimed, she was braiding his hair at the bottom to imitate a Na'vi's queue, for him to feel like he fits in more. In just a few seconds, she finished the braid. She immediately sat next to Spider, they sat far on the edge, their feet dangling off.
"Also they don't hate you," she added, "they just..." she trailed off, she wanted to find an excuse for parents' behavior towards the human boy, but there just isn't one.
"They hate me, you don't have to excuse their behavior...I'm just gonna be alone forever...I guess," Spider said, a small sad sigh escaping his lips.
"Well, if it makes you feel a little bit better, they hate me too, you know. And you have me, I'm alone too, we can be alone with each other."
"Your people hate me as well, I got beat up by some guy around our age once, when we went back to the village for a visit," he added.
"Ugh! Those assholes! I'll exile them from the clan!" she exclaimed, she knew the boys hated him but she didn't know he got beat up.
Spider simply chuckled at his friend's words, "You don't have the power to do that, [Name]."
"I am the Princess of the Omatikaya clan and the next Olo'eytktan." she said with a sly smile.
"Neteyam is the next Olo'eyktan." Spider chuckled.
The two kids continue their conversation, laughs and chuckles can be heard.
They both felt alone, two lonely people finding comfort in the presence of one another. They were alone, yes, but they were alone together.

spoiler for family jewels next chapter
this nasnt been proofread yet soo please escuse any mistake
ive been trying to write but it's soo hard and i felt bad bc i havent been giving any content so like heres a lil spoiler
"She could die, Jake." Neytiri said, her voice breaking, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
Suddenly, Jake was hit with a terrible realization. He killed his daughter.
His ears layed flat on his skull. His heart thumping as if it was gonna burst out of his chest.
How could he do this?
Why did he do this?
Why did this happen?
What happened?
Millions of questions ran through his head. His memories with his daughter played back from the beggining, her first word, her first few steps, her first hunt, their first fight.
His mind played every single memory, looking for the one that ruined them. But he couldn't find it, it was like it was erased from his life, deleted. Or maybe he just was not looking harder, scared that he would see what he does not want to see.

The first time [Name] saw Aonung was when they first arrived in Awa'atlu in search of a home.
When she first set her eyes on the Metkayina boy, her heart raced, butterflies flew around her stomach. Her entire world flipped. It was his eyes, his blue dazzling eyes, eyes the same color as the deep majestic ocean, eyes the same color as the endless blue sky.
Training started, and every passing day, [Name] fell deeper and deeper into the endless pit of love Aonung had led her to.
Aonung, Tsireya, and some other Metkayina children taught the Sully kids how to ride an Ilu yesterday.
The Ilu is a large, plesiosaur-like sea creature. It had black top with colorful orange splotches around its body, and white underbelly. It was truly a majestic creature.
Her siblings got in in a few tries that day, but she just couldn't. No matter how many times she tries, she still can't.
Aonung had offered his whole day to teach her to ride one, and of course, she gladly accepted this.
It was around the afternoon, the eclipse would come in a few hours; and yet, they were still here.
"Do it again." Aonung said, helping [Name] get back on her feet cause, as expected she fell off, again.
"I don't know...maybe this just isn't for me, I'm better with an Ikran," she replied back with a saddened expression. She wanted to learn, really, but for some reason she can't. It was like something was holding her back to giving it her best, was it her old home? The feeling she is betraying her clan? She doesn't know. But there is something.
"You're scared, aren't you?" he asked.
"What?"
"You're scared," he paused thinking of the right words to say, "you feel like you're betraying your old clan by learning our ways. You're being held back by the fear of fully leaving the Omatikaya clan behind, is that it?"
[Name] said nothing. Was that really the reason?
"Come on." he spoke again, putting her back to her feet and calling the Ilu back.
"Maybe we should try again tomor—"
"Pretend it's a Pa'li," he cut her off. [Name] was taken aback, how did he know that creature?
"What?"
"Pretend it's a Pa'li, You guys have that right? They are similar to Ilus so approach the Ilu like a Pa'li, not like an Ikran."
She did as she was told, sitting on it like she would a Pa'li.
"Great now go slowly, you don't need to be fast," he spoke with a gentle and encouraging voice, [Name] couldn't help but flutter at his tone. Her heart beating rapidly as he put his hand on her thighs, near and knees, and the other rubbing her shoulder.
Again, she did as she was told. She made the bond and instructed it to move slowly. She had started to speed up as soon as she got the hang of it.
"This is amazing!" she beamed.
Aonung got on his Ilu as well, following her. They rode for a minute, their Ilu's playing around.
As they began to slow down,  Aonung led his Ilu beside [Name]'s. "I know a spot, come on." he uttered.
[Name] hesitantly followed him as he led her somewhere further than she's ever been to.
"Here we are," he said, stretching out the 'r'. He had led them to a big rock in the middle of the sea.
"Come on," he said, helping her up to the top of the rock.
As she reached the top, her mouth gaped in awe. You could see everything here.
She sat at the edge—facing the island—and Aonung sat beside her. Comfortable silence surrounded them, they just sat there, watching as the sun started to set, painting the sky a beautiful orange color with light pink clouds splattered all over.
"So, how'd you know that?" she began.
"What?" he asked, confused.
"The Pa'li, how'd you know about them?"
"Oh, I read," he paused, thinking of what to say, "I read...I read books about Pandora, the other lands, the clans, everything. There's a book there about the Omatikaya, your people...and other clans as well"
"I want to explore the world, that's why I read, they help me see the world, it makes me feel free—if that makes sense." he added
"I can take you on my Ikran if you want," she offered, "you can see a lot when you're flying, I often feel trapped and flying makes me feel free." she said, looking over at the boy beside her with a small smile painted on her face.
"I'd love that." he said, smiling back.
This had become a daily thing for them, they would meet at this rock at this exact time. More often than not they would stay until after the sun sets, looking up at the stars, thinking about the vast world above them.
Her siblings noticed her absence, and they knew what was causing it; Aonung.
Their siblings felt a tinge of distaste towards their sister's feelings for the Metkayina boy. Especially Lo'ak. How could his sister, his beloved, brave, smart, adventurous, little twin sister, be so deeply in love with that...that boy! She never told him but somehow, someway he already knew.
Though Aonung has always made snarky remarks or comments towards her siblings, she still can't help but to fall more and more in love.
Not long after this Aonung had started to fall as well. She used to seem so...plain to him. But it was like his world flipped, recently he had caught himself staring at her. The way her hair flows in the water, her amber eyes glistening under the sun, it had all started happening rapidly, like a strong magnet pulling him near before he could even notice.
