Drew all the Genderbent Critters. Names and character summaries down below 👇🏾
Their names (if you can’t read my handwriting)
Sunset
Sunset is the bubbly, optimistic, and caring leader of the Smiling Critters. The most trusted companion who has everyone’s back Sunset, also known as Sunny, always has her friend’s best interest in mind! Rest assured she is the glue that holds this rascally band of Critters together.
Felidaze
This smooth, collected coolcat makes sure every Critter gets a good night rest. Felidaze is Sunsets unofficial second in command, usually seen as the unbiased mediator of the group Daze can settle any dispute among the Critters. Felidaze always had hers friends backs just… silently… and at a distance. 😸
Hopster
Hyperactive and witty Hopster keeps his friends on their toes. Always up for the latest adventure Hopster dives headfirst into any situation whether good or bad. Hard-headed and strong willed Hops never backs down from a challenge. Even though he sometimes bumps heads with some of the other Critters, this hare is extremely loyal to his Friends.
Chikita “Chikky”
Chikky Chicken is “a totally awesome radical rebel”, or so she exclaims. Chikky is always up to date on the latest trends, knows the best hangout spots, and makes sure everyone is having a good time along the way. Most don’t know this but Chikky is the most perceptive of the group, knowing all of her friends on a deep personal level means she the easiest to get along with.
Chroma
The “Creative” of the group Chroma tends to keep to themselves and just… exist. Introverted and happy to stay in their lane his calm attitude rivals that of Felidaze's. Chroma loves all sorts of artistic avenues whether its writing, painting, or music he excels in all of them. Chroma loves creating projects alongside their friends and is very hands -er Hooves on!
Porky
This pink portly little hog is Porky Piggy, he’s brash, loud, and proud or so his Mammy says. Porky is the self appointed “chef” of the group, he makes sure his friends always have snacks to keep them energized. Porky has that southern charm that draws people in, happy to make critters smile and laugh Porky just wants to keep his friends happy and fed!
Billy
Billy Bearhug has by far the biggest heart, the sweetest Critter of the bunch Billy is always happy to be around his friends. Though he can be a bit overbearing (badum-tss) Billy always sees the bright side of everything, sometimes his friends need to bring him back down to earth. There’s no harm in viewing the world through rose tinted glasses right… right?
Bulba
The brightest of the bunch Bulba is the group scholar and is most sought out for her expertise on a variety of subjects. Bulba never uses her smarts to demean her friends instead she helps and educates them on certain topics. Bulba always makes sure that her lessons are fun and interactive for her friends.

After the chroma conclave had been defeated and everything had calmed, all Percy really wanted was to rest. But once again, it seems that will have to wait.
At first he’s glad to receive a letter from Whitestone, from Cass. She’s been sending him updates about rebuilding. In a way, this letter is no different. Keeper Yennen suggested a day of mourning now that the crisis was over. Whitestone had suffered for years under the briarwoods, and the revolt hadn’t been without casualties. Cassandra had agreed to a day of mourning and a candlelight ceremony for the fallen. As both a de Rolo and one of the liberators of Whitestone, Percy had been invited to attend. More like he had to attend. He knew two things immediately upon reading this information. 1. The city needed this, and he would need to be there. 2. He desperately didn’t want to go. He’d spent years lost in his grief and rage, and he had no desire to face it again. But he had a duty to Whitestone, and to Cass.
This was how he found himself standing on a platform behind Cass and beside Keeper Yennen, holding a small white candle flickering against the slight chill in the air. Cassandra spoke, Keeper Yennen spoke, even he spoke, but somehow it all felt like static. He could only hope his words came out the way he had written them, and that they were good enough for the people of his city. He tried to keep his voice even and strong, as his father would have. He never learned as much about leadership as Julius or even Vesper had, but even he understood keeping a brave face before the populous. Still, the whole thing passed in a blur. People holding candles milled around quietly down a long street. The path was lined with smooth stones, carved with the names of the fallen. Some during the rebellion or past attempts, some killed in cold blood by the Briarwoods, others simply passed from the harsh conditions. The stones were surrounded by flowers, personal items, or portraits of the deceased.
Percy milled quietly up the path, scanning the names as he went. Most were unfamiliar, but he couldn’t help but feel weighed down by each one. Archie has a stone among them, placed just before a clearing. Percy stands before it for so long his candle nearly melts almost down to his fingers before going out completely. He feels rigid, unsure of how to conduct himself in front of his best friends makeshift grave. It’s decorated more than most. There’s a small portrait of Archie as a boy, he looks too much like how Percy remembered him. Grinning with a wicked gap tooth smile. Percy can almost hear him explaining this latest scheme. One Percy would almost certainly agree to. He doesn’t realize how tense he’s getting until his candle snaps, pulling him out of his daze. There’s one area left, one he’s been avoiding all night but he knows he has to visit.
With slow and heavy footsteps, he enters the clearing past Archie’s stone. There the path gives way to a circular area of stone surrounded by bushes and greenery. There are 7 stones in this area, slightly larger than the ones on the path. These stones are similarly decorated with flowers and each has a portrait, though there aren’t as many personal items here. He doesn’t blame Cass for not putting them out. He wouldn’t have wanted to go through their things either. In the center are the two largest stones belonging to his mother and father, and between those, a family portrait. Percy stops dead at the entrance and stares his former self in the eye. Vespers hand is placed on one shoulder, his mothers hand rests on the other. He grins at his unknown future. Percy had almost forget the shade of brown his hair used to be.
He takes a deep, unsteady breath and ventures deeper into the clearing. The crowd had begun to clear in general, but some people were still around this area. Upon entry he feels all eyes lay briefly on him before darting away. He goes the the right, starting at the stone for his youngest brother, Ludwig. He doesn’t want to rush anyone out, but he’s still grateful as the remaining people in the clearing finish up their respects and hurry out. Grateful, until he realizes he’s alone with what remains of his family’s memories. He stops at each stone and feels each gouge into his chest. As he’s reaching the center he hears someone clear their throat behind him. “Hi Cass” he says quietly, his eyes unable to leave the center portrait.
Cass walks up next to him without speaking. They stand, side by side, looking back in time. Percy is 14 in this portrait. He remembers getting antsy for it to be over, he had wanted to get back to his latest project, a table clock he was working on for Vespers birthday. He was trying to figure out how to make it play music on the hour. Cass is grinning, but he remembers the hell she had put up about the dress she’s wearing. Too itchy. Too frilly. He focuses on each face. He misses them. He misses his mothers annoyed yet endeared sigh at her children’s antics. He misses his fathers hearty belly laugh, far too loud every time. He misses Julius attempting to teach him to sword fight day after day with wooden sticks, even though Percy was never very good. He misses Whitney and Oliver’s laughter, and their bickering too. He misses Ludwig bothering his mother for just one more sweet before bed. He misses Vesper listening with an amused smile as Percy went on about his latest obsession. He finally breaks his trance to glance at Cassandra. Her face is tight, he recognizes the set position in her jaw. She’s trying to keep it together. She must have felt his eyes on her. Their eyes meet and he can see that hers are shining with the tears she’s holding back.
He doesn’t know who reached for who. All he knows is Cass is in his arms. Her head is buried in his chest, his face is mostly hidden in her shoulder. He’s hunched slightly to encompass her, but not too much. She’s so much taller now. He doesn’t like to think about how much she grew in their old house, under the Briarwoods. She’s shaking, he can hear tiny sobs muffled through his jacket. He’s reminded of the little girl she used to be. He’s not sure how long they stood there, holding each other tight enough to hope they couldn’t be separated again. He’s not sure who saw them wrapped up like this. He can’t really bring himself to care. It’s only when they separate that he realized he’d been crying too. The fabric over her shoulder is wet with his tears, though some have caught in his glasses.
“Let’s go home” Cassandra mutters softly. Percy nods his head wordlessly and takes her hand. He squeezes it in attempt to offer what little comfort he can. She gives him a weak smile and squeezes his hand in return. They leave together, back to the home that was once theirs, and maybe will be again.

Uhm. So obviously some stuff just happened. People broke into the Chroma family house last night which is insane. But, none of them were home at least so that's good.
Oh! Indigo is in the office today. Mr. Chroma says they got sick so now they can't do the event anymore. This makes sense, cause they're visiting people in the hospital and they don't want to make it worse. He didn't say how they were sick, but they've taken some medicine, and they're wearing a mask, so it must be pretty bad. Poor thing :(
I guess they dyed their hair again though, its grey and it looks pretty cool! Mrs. Chroma says its an inside joke or something with the elderly, cause they've got an old soul.
Ah, yeah but they're in the office right now. They're kinda just curled up in the corner with Flicker. Indigo hasn't like- talked to me or done anything other than hold Flicker, so they're probably really sick. Like fever and dazed sick. Cause I'm not even sure if they realize I'm here right now. But I'm keeping an eye on them cause that's what the bosses said!

Worth [Iona]
The view from outside the Emerald Citadel was unrivaled. It merged into the sloping heels of the mountain and the city swept out before her like the spine of a stretching cat, its arms wrapped around Lake Ywnnlas and disappearing into shrouds of trees. It was as much city as it was forest, often a blend of the two, but their borders went far. Around her came the soft percussion of light-footed guards and nobles in leather. Iona didn’t visit often, so she marvelled.
In another life, maybe she would have been an Aegis of the High Warden and seen this view every day. Would it lose its lustre with routine?
Syngorn was back on the material plane, the war with the Chroma Conclave concluded in time for late winter. Orla had come with them, tended to by her parents at another outpost. From up high, it all looked surmountable. Iona willed the peace to imbue her and assuage her worries about her little sister.
She turned at the sound of opening doors. Theotae emerged from the palace like she was walking in a dream, dazed and distracted. Iona straightened and unfolded her arms. She tried to guess the content of the meeting by her expression and gait, but she would’ve had better luck reading mist.
Theotae cast her gaze out over the city, then settled on Iona, her trance-like stupor only half receding. “Walk with me,” she said.
Theotae led her at an amble down the winding steps. Iona didn’t broach; she knew Theotae would address her unspoken question. For now, she was content to be at her side.
They reached the base of the stairs and exited through golden gates. Theotae ignored the bridges connecting the wards in favour of the semicircular platform that fed into them and fisted her hands on the rail overseeing the lake.
“The High Warden wants to make me a Warden,” Theotae said at last.
Iona’s bottom jaw dropped. She quickly closed it, then asked carefully, “Are you replacing one of the other Wardens?”
“No. She wanted to create a fifth. ‘Peace Broker’ or ‘Branching Concord.’ Basically, a Warden of diplomatic relations that are unrelated to commerce.”
“I’m—wow.”
“I felt much the same.”
Iona struggled to absorb it. “That’s a lot of responsibility, but it doesn’t sound like anything you can’t handle. It puts you in a better position to help the city. It’s...impressive.”
“My thoughts exactly.” Theotae released the rail and turned to her. “But as I’m sure you know, Wardens are allowed to pick their Emerald Archers instead of having them assigned.”
That nugget of information had slipped her mind, briefly. Goosebumps rose on her skin from the breeze blown off the lake. Now she understood the breathless feeling in her breast—it was the feeling of being on the precipice of great change, both for her and for Lady Theotae. It was standing at the summit of the Emerald Citadel and not knowing if she’d fall or fly.
Theotae smiled a warm, private smile, resting a hand on Iona’s shoulder and disturbing her mire of concern. She spoke softly, just loud enough for the space between them, and looked focused for the first time since leaving the Citadel. “Don’t be frightened, Iona. I fully intend to keep you as my Aegis. That is—if you want to stay. Your worth hasn’t changed to me.”
“I—” Iona swallowed. “I’d be honoured, my lady.” She smiled, her relief pouring out of her. “Congratulations. You deserve it.”

as already established before, duri really enjoys and even loves getting to cover songs. there always seems to be something special about it. it gives him the chance to do a different spin on a cover with his own vocals, as well as possibly changing an arrangement to do something different to songs that he really enjoys. sometimes he’ll leave the arrangement in tact and just make his vocals do the work of making something his own. nonetheless, he really loves to cover songs. tunes to cover pt 2 is the second part to tunes to cover, a playlist full of songs that he’d like to cover. there’s a songs he’d most likely to cover on something such as yoo heeyeol’s sketchbook or a solo concert, as during knight concerts, he’s instructed to do his most recent single.

headcanon, aesthetic & playlist — underground friendships
summary: the love of music all spawned from the underground days where he was nothing more than a small child on the verge of thunderous rebellion. some souls fizzled out into mere nobodies while the few that clung on have been his stride and true, the biggest pieces of solace to the idol world he lives in. always a phone call away — he calls these people his pals. playlist summary: when he’s with his underground friends, no music is off limits. ranging from the girl groups to the random listens of whatever hip hop music is blasting through their music playlists — they share these pieces for bouts of inspiration or just for the laugh that comes from sitting in a room and listening to mindless music. sometimes it’s over a game of cards, and other times it’s just while he’s drunk over a glass of beer. either way, it spurs the deepening friendship that puts nothing off limits, nothing off bounds when they’re talking about anything ranging from music to their personal lives inside a rooftop apartment. warnings: mentions of smoking tw, mentions of drinking tw wc: 1009
playlist
1. forever young — femme fatale (blackpink) 2. 너무 너무 너무 — wish (very very very — ioi) 3. so good — fuse (red velvet) 4. cool hot sweet love — fuse (red velvet) 5. 사이렌 — 호미들 (siren — homies) 6. wifey — 카모 ft. 쌈디 (wifey — camo ft. simon dominic) 7. countin my guap — changmo 8. dress _ Face & Mask ft. ron — kid milli 9. yummy — justin bieber 10. freak — doja cat 11. triggered — jhene aiko
park siwoo
siwoo’s one of gyujeong’s best friends. has been since they first met inside a cypher group on the hongdae playground.
currently, siwoo’s a producer active in the underground hip hop scene, and he doesn’t create his music (not gray-esque, more like woogie or boycold)
they’re the same age, born in 1994 and siwoo’s always been the happy storm to counter gyujeong’s rough against the edges personality
siwoo’s personality is vastly different than his exterior. on the outside, he seems cold with his long hair always clouding his face and glasses askew — the earphones always detract the world from around him. yet, when he opens his mouth it all cracks and what’s left is a cesspool of cheap corny jokes (gyujeong likes to call him the second coming of kim heechul)
the reason why there’s so many pictures of them in the younger years is because siwoo always had a camera in hand to capture each memory. so many 흑역사s (bad memories? corny memories pictures?) all because of siwoo’s damn camera
musically wise, siwoo produces a lot of house and mellow beats. but also super versatile — there’s a reason why he’s the first to pass around ideas to, and why siwoo always gets hit with random bursts of gyujeong’s creativity
they’ve collaborated on a lot of songs (mostly unreleased), still there’s a certain synergy that happens when they’re together smoking away while listening to beats they’ve made half-dazed on sleep
in terms of personal talks / getting serious, siwoo knows the ins and outs of gyujeong’s life and the scandals that plague him — the fact gyujeong’s an idol hasn’t changed much about their friendship aside from the secrecy that they can’t go out to cafes as easily as they did when they were teens
true knight fans are aware, however, of siwoo’s existence and that’s probably how siwoo’s amassed a lot of followers with each comment being “thanks for being a good friend to haon!”
their arguments if any are superficial, and mainly subjected to the best girl group — gyujeong picks fuse, and siwoo picks lucid now infatuated with the idea of chroma
jung jiwon
jiwon’s a fast 1995, hence why they’ve dropped formalities of hyung/dongsaeng and relate themselves to donggap friends
jiwon’s also a producer but also releases his own stuff — very rare and sparse as producing he considers his real calling. he’s under the name of ‘sloom’ and has worked with some mid-tier companies to produce songs for the boy and girl groups (mainly he writes the raps)
at first glance, he’s scary? just because facial and neck tattoos aren’t that common in korea. and on the inside, he has even a tough exterior (허세) that gyujeong always calls him out on. it took them a near year? to become friendly, and they met each other through siwoo.
they rarely hang out in person? mainly over kakaotalk and messaging they keep in touch, send in beats to each other. but when they do see each other for the first time in a long time, it becomes a rekindled feeling where they’re not subjugated to any sort of “how’ve you been” but pick up where it’s last
at first, it became who can speak less when they were together but now, it’s who can shut up first considering they both go rampant about whatever game has caught their eye lately
jiwon agrees that fuse is superior to the girl group, and constantly badgers gyujeong to let him meet the leader. yet, gyujeong hesitates and laughs it off telling him to fuck off
jiwon’s music sounds a lot more of what sells on melon or award shows, yet he doesn’t have the big name value to let it chart — hence, why gyujeong wants to help when he can
jiwon lives in a half-basement, and that’s normally where they go to catch up as he’s one of the few that’s kept to that style of living as he sees it as homely rather than a bothersome to upgrade
cha sejoon
another 1994, and they’ve had the most complicated relationship out of the three
it’s the fact they’re similar, and similar personalities which led to a lot of clashes and misunderstandings over the years
the first fight obviously became over yeseul as sejoon really liked yeseul but then got slighted when gyujeong became mr. steal your girl — however, after a while, they got to talking and realized that pettyness aside, they do get along for the most part
sejoon is the most successful out of the underground friends, producing music as much as he puts it out. in the underground scene, he’s known as the heartthrob boyfriend of your dreams where fans like his looks more than the quality of music he puts out
gyujeong gives him the benefit of the doubt, music’s good for the most part — a bit on the idol-esque side, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
sejoon lives in a rooftop apartment and as much as that gets romanticized, sejoon’s constantly complaining about the bugs that come out and how he’s ready to move out (in reality, he’s too lazy)
sejoon also stops by gyujeong’s apartment a lot on off days to talk, catch up — ironically, this is the friend he talks least about music with despite their similarities
they’ve gotten into a lot of fights in the past years, each time causing a few months without talk before one of them steps up and hits the other person up to talk it out
there’s a lot of miscommunications and read between the lines since they’re not the best at relaying what they really think — a few mishaps where people thought he was dissing ‘haon’ when in reality it was a diss against another idol rapper
as much as it pains gyujeong to say, he doesn’t know what he’d do without sejoon knowing that the fights have only parsed them closer and it’s the tit for tat banter that keeps their dynamic moving smoothly

---okay wait, no, nevermind, this is what I want to say about Vex and Percy, I found it after all.  I love them because they’re a love story about choosing what you want to build after the world falls down around you, and finding somebody else who will look to the future and build next to you, even though you’re both working with shattered landscapes and cracked tools.  I love them because the way both of their worlds broke is so fucking different, but they understand each other enough to recognize it, and neither one of them can keep from moving instinctively, unstoppably forward anyway.
Once upon a time, they both had lives with plans, and then those lives fell apart.  And both of those lives, those sets of plans included love in their own way, but neither of them looked anything like the love Percy and Vex found with each other.  They didn’t expect that at all.
I have a lot of feelings about teenaged Percival de Rolo, who is probably going to be a clockmaker.  He has so many siblings in his vast noble family that he can do that, he can be semi-useless and artful.  He expects to get married someday, a respectable arranged match to someone he’ll presumably like well enough, and live a quiet, clever life.  I picture him as fond enough of his family, assuming that he’ll be fond enough of his hypothetical maybe-someday wife and his hypothetical maybe-someday children, happy enough in that partnership, with the time and space to be passionate about his cleverness and his books and his inventions.  There’s such a specific kind of fulfilment in that life I think Percy once envisioned for himself, with people who are reliably there, loved but taken a little bit for granted, all of the focus and elation and ‘this is the point of me’ devotion towards intellectual pursuits.  I think he would have been happy with that life, and that he would have been kind of a vaguely-inoffensive asshole because he never really paid enough attention to other people to bother really hurting them, or to learn that he could really hurt them and stop.
Of course we know how all of that fell apart.  What I’m fascinated by is Percy himself, though, Percy who survived to join Vox Machina, because the Percy we know from canon never actually stopped falling apart.  We know he hasn’t rebuilt himself a new life, he doesn’t have a future, he’s got a revenge quest and then he has a dragon distraction, sure, yes, we see that, but it’s not just the facts of what Percy does, it’s the feelings and the headspace he’s in the whole time.  Taliesin’s said a few times, and I am so interested in the implications, that Percy spends 95% of the campaign mostly staying coherent through the middle of a constant, years-long nervous breakdown.  He is constantly slipping back and forth along the edges of dissociating, present enough to react to things but not exactly here, not really processing the full weight of everything that happens, not quite.  He can’t tell his Orthax-visions apart from nightmares cooked up by his own brain, and he talks more than once about how much the past few years with VM feel more like a dream than reality.  His judgment is a mess, diving headfirst into deals with anyone who’ll have him, making whatever bad decision seems like a good idea at the time.
So Percy’s life was smashed to smithereens and the Percy we know has absolutely not recovered, has not even really begun to recover--but one of the really epic things about Percy is the way he just keeps moving forward anyway.  Dazed, dissociated, acting on instinct, whatever Percy may be, it is baked into his very nature to keep on going.  When Percy is surprised or threatened, he always seems to be shocked into action, not stillness.  We see it when he goes full Determinator in Whitestone during the Briarwoods arc, and again chasing Ripley to Glintshore.  We see it directly after the Chroma Conclave attack, looking for a plan, for a next step, when he tugs Vex to evacuate the keep; we see it in the ruins of Draconia when he’s the only one to notice Tiberius, and he is so careful about asking questions that won’t derail the thing they have in motion, so careful not to alert any of the others who might grind everything to a halt, because grief or no grief this has to keep going anyway.  Even when he’s awash with useless emotions and there’s nowhere to go to, Percy broods at work, down by a forge or setting pen to paper, making and planning and doing.  It’s so telling that even at his absolute worst, in that pit of nothing when Orthax first whispered in his ear, Percy’s reaction was to make something.
.
Which brings us to Vex, who isn’t quite a maker like Percy, but is still a builder in her own way.  Vex who had her own life that fell apart, and I don’t really mean Byroden, and I certainly don’t mean Syngorn.
Vex’s life, Vex’s plans, weren’t handed to her.  The life Vex expected to live was the one she was still living when we first met her: the traveling adventurer’s life she’d built with Vax.  (And maybe that’s our first demonstration of exactly how much Vex is maker and a builder, that after her life fell to pieces the first time--after Byroden, after Syngorn--she’d already managed to put together a new one once.)  She has her brother and she has her bear, and by the time we meet her she has Vox Machina, and it’s not much for convention but it’s a life.  All of her expectations are locked into that life and that future.  VM at level 9, with a keep under construction and the respect of Tal’dorei, was obviously already pretty different than the twins at level 1 living in the woods, but it’s also so easy to see how it’s just a continuation of the same thing.  Vex and her twin live in each others’ pockets, and she shoots things and makes sure that there is always enough to eat and always money for a rainy day, and there’s stability in unconditional love and self-sufficiency right there.  Laura’s mentioned on Talks that, if the Conclave hadn’t attacked and Vax had left the group, Vex would have tried as hard as possible to convince him to stay, and then would’ve gone with him for sure.  Of course she would have. Vox Machina was the life Vex was trying to build, but Vax and Trinket were the life she already had, cornerstone and truth.
You can see how hard Vex works to create and maintain and secure that life with every coin she squirrels away so zealously against a rainy day.  There is no doubt in my mind that, pre-Vox Machina, Vex and her bow and her hoarded pennies was the one who made sure there was always something to eat over the campfire every night.  There is no doubt in my mind that when they found Byroden in ashes, Vex was the one who got her brother moving, who kept them moving, who kept them pointed forwards no matter what.  And you can see how much Vex put into the bigger, richer, theoretically more-stable life Vox Machina was starting to build together when it all came crashing down.
Percy’s life fell apart pre-stream, and we all know exactly how.  The super fascinating thing about Vex’s arc is that we get to see her life fall apart, right there in the middle of the story, maybe more than anybody else.  The Chroma Conclave was hard on everyone for all sorts of reasons, but in terms of what Vex tried to build for herself and tried to keep, it’s easy to see how fast and how utterly she loses very nearly everything.  Greyskull Keep is first, of course, with the heartbreak of watching Vex hesitating there at the edge of the tree with tears in her eyes, because this was their home.  It’s such a big thing for her, more than for anyone else--and of course it is, because Vex more than anyone in the group saw Greyskull as her future.  Keyleth always had the Ashari to go back to, and Pike had Sarenrae, Grog lives in the motion and Scanlan avoids plans, Percy could barely conceive of a future existing and Vax was lost and floundering for any next step he could find, but Vex had this castle and Vex called this castle home.
Of course it doesn’t end with the castle, though, because this love story is the story of how everything breaks, and the next thing of Vex’s to break was Vax.  Before the dragons came, Vax was already falling apart and falling away from her in two different directions, half of him tugged away by depression and uncertainty, the other half pulled after Keyleth.  The seeds of distance were sprouting there even before Vex died in the Queen’s champion’s tomb.  And maybe that feels even more symbolic now than I ever realized it did before--Vex died and came back, but the deal her brother made, that vow he swore, wiped away any chance Vex still had for ever getting back that wandering rogue-and-ranger life that once was hers.
The Chroma Conclave arc takes nearly half of Campaign 1, and Vex spends it watching bits of her old life crumble while she’s much, much too busy to process or mourn.  There are dragons in the world, and there’s no time to worry about what the world will look like once they’re dead.  She doesn’t have plans.  Vax has raven wings and a goddess and a girlfriend, and Emon is on fire, is turning to lava beneath Thordak’s feet, and Keyleth is a wreck and Grog dies for five minutes and god only knows what’s going on in Scanlan’s head ever--and Vex, like Percy, just keeps going.  She reads the Raven Queen book cover to cover seventeen times.  She takes things, and she hoards things, and she scrounges for loot, and she gets called greedy for it but the thing is that for Vex, acquiring things is very much a fundamental kind of building for the future, maybe even more than making and tinkering is for Percy.  Stocking up now will save them later, it’s baked into the firmament of Vex’s soul, take whatever you can because you will NEED IT someday.  She steals a broom because she wants it, yes, and then it saves all of their lives.  She sets the group after Fenthras because she wants it.  She bargains and she haggles, even when there’s no reason at all to believe that tomorrow will come, even when Vex has no idea what tomorrow could be, because whatever doubts she may have on the surface, her instincts can’t give up that last breath of faith: I will need this money later, because there will be a later.  Just like Percy, scribbling plans in his journals late in the night for inventions he has no time or supplies to make.  Neither of them have any fucking clue what the future could possibly be, but they can’t stop working towards it anyway.
.
This is the environment where they fall into each other, Vex and Percy, in the middle of the mess of the Chroma Conclave, in this violent limbo world where any day could be the last and next month might as well not exist.  This is where they plant the seeds and start to grow the future they don’t even believe in yet.
The attraction and the flirting start before the dragons even come, of course.  Percy builds things for Vex to have and keep and use or squirrel away, and it’s such a perfect expression of both of their attitudes towards the world.  Vex keeps his coin with hers, and makes sure to shepherd it just as carefully, makes sure that Percy will have enough in whatever future comes.  And there are hints of what they’ll be.  There’s a reason that ‘Darling, take the mask off’ is SO MUCH, and it’s because ever-moving determinator Percy is stuck.  He’s driving himself right into a corner, working himself off a cliff.  He’s just killed someone horribly and he’s on the edge of blue-screening right now, of stopping, or maybe of smashing everything until there’s nowhere left to go.   And Vex, who’s got a good life for herself right now but has already lost one and knows what it’s like, says, come on.  Let’s back you away from this wall you’ve thrown yourself up against.  Take the mask off.  Let’s keep moving forward.
And they’re something, there, in the way Vex not only keeps going but tries to keep Percy going right through it all.  So much of Vex’s constant planning and motion is wrapped around and embedded with keeping other people going too.  We know she took care of Vax when it was just the two of them, because they took care of each other, and you cannot tell me Vex wasn’t the long-term planner of the pair.  She gathers Trinket up out of horror and sadness and makes sure he has a future.  She collects strays, angel slave-boys, the fruitless quest for the Gray Render baby.  She pulls Percy out of a jail cell and keeps him in the first place.  And there’s a selfless generosity to it, of course, or it’s easy to see one anyway, Vex who mothers, Vex who checks in on everybody else after her own death, but that’s not the whole story.  The other half of it is Vex-who’s-never-been-alone.  Vex who hoards people as tightly and as carefully as she hoards coin.  She can keep going through nearly anything, so long as her people are there with her, so she is going to make sure that everyone she loves stays okay because she needs them to be.
The thing about Percy is that--because he’s a builder, a maker, a fixer, a determinator in his own right--he can return that favor.  He can make sure that Vex keeps going, not by stopping and sitting in her feelings with her until she’s ready to move (which is very much the Vax and Keyleth energy), but by tugging her along in the direction she was already going.  In Syngorn he gives her Whitestone, and oh, it’s a way to shut her father up, but more than anything it’s a someday.  There in the city that helped destroy Vex’s first good life, while the dragon that burned the rest of it to ashes sits over the ruins of her last, Percy makes a promise that someday Vex can have a home and a future again.  It’s far away and shrouded in mist.   Percy can’t even really picture his own someday right now.  They might both die before they get there.  But there’s a someday ahead, and it’s enough to get Vex moving again, proud and hopeful and ready to go and collect that bow that’ll help get her there.
And Vex turns right back around again on Glintshore and in its aftermath, demanding that Percy have that future too, because she doesn’t want this one without him.  If he’s going to promise her a someday to move towards again, then he damn well has to get there too.  It’s because she wants him to be alive and happy, and it’s because Vex just wants him, needs him in her life, this human she collected and is so determined to keep.
So the promise of someday, in Whitestone is glittering on the horizon for them when they kiss in the woods after the Vorugal fight, and it’s just barely around the corner past the next couple of hells when Percy comes to her room before Thordak, but I think it also still feels like a far-away mirage, and I think that matters.  They are both still lost in a world full of carnage and dragons and constant threat.  Percy is stabbing Raishan in a council meeting because why the fuck not, this seems like a good idea at this time.  Vex is still so unsure, trying to teach herself to forgive, trying to see a path forward to that someday-horizon, trying to deal with the fact that even if they kill all the dragons and even if they all survive she’s lost her brother to Keyleth and fate.  The world is a wreck and they are a wreck in it, and the only thing they can do is not stop.  The only thing they can be sure of is right here, right now.
So that’s where they fall into bed.  On the eve of the Thordak fight, knowing they both could die tomorrow, knowing they most likely will.  They’re about to go take on the monster that destroyed the only two homes Vex ever loved, a decade and a half apart, and there is no kind of promise that either of them will see the other side of the war, and that’s where they grab each other and hold on.  They’re here in this impossible place together.  They’ll take it as it comes, they’ll take whatever comes, and for this one night they have each other in it.
.
And then they survive.
So much of the episodes directly after the end of the Conclave--the next week or two in Vox Machina’s life, where they save Scanlan and try to bury some ashes and rip themselves apart, and then fight a kraken and die trying, and then go to Hell, and then come back--is just this string of, okay, nobody here knows how to stop.  The dragons are dead, but the fugue state of violence and getting-the-next-thing-done, nose to the grindstone and figure this next step out and don’t worry about long-term plans because we might not survive to see them anyway, that’s still here.  Percy’s been living there for years (and certainly didn’t have time, post-Briarwoods arc, to start thinking about pulling himself out of it).  Vex’s specific life plans got trashed by the dragons more than anyone else’s.  But really, the whole group is living there in one way or another.  It’s just that Scanlan shattered under it and ran, and Grog’s never really suffered from it or lived differently anyway, and Pike keeps taking breaks to fix temples and tend to refugees and work towards rebuilding right through it all.  Keyleth and Vax both found a sort of peace in fatalism and destiny, in knowing that they have set paths there in front of them and all they have to do is choose to follow them.
Percy and Vex, very fundamentally, don’t have those set paths.  Nothing for them is a given.  There’s Whitestone, yes, but there is a reason Percy isn’t Lord of Whitestone, king in his castle, leading his city through the dragons and beyond.  When Percy’s life broke it shattered, and even when Whitestone was freed, he didn’t claim it as his.  He only came back after the dragon attack because Emon was gone and it was the only safe place they knew.  Whitestone is in Percy’s bones, part of how he defines himself and his life, but living there, running it, tying himself to the city--it isn’t a given.  Percy could die fighting dragons or die to a kraken or spend eternity trapped in the Nine Hells, and Whitestone would be fine.  He could leave and never come back, and Whitestone would be fine.
So coming back to Whitestone--sending Vex on the Gray Hunt--fucking in the castle treasury and setting up plans for whatever’s next--it’s a choice.  Nothing about the people Percy and Vex become during peacetime is about destiny.  They had lives and plans and destinies, the rich asshole clockmaker, the ranger on the road.  Those are gone.  Everything they keep from those old lives is a little broken, a little twisted from what they once expected it to be.  Everything they do now is what they decide to build.
And this is the glory of Percy and Vex, the love that’s so big it makes my heart ache: the thing they decide to keep in this new world is each other.  In the fugue of war with no future, they found each other and built things together, spent an entire evening tinkering on Vex’s stolen broom in Percy’s workshop, flirted and fucked and kept each other going even when nobody knew where.  Neither of them had real, passionate romantic love written into their plans, back when they had plans.  Neither of them needed it, not for the lives they wanted.  But those lives are dead and gone, and they found this thing together in the weird wilderness between there and here, and they’re keeping it.  They get to do that.  They get to build their new lives in whatever shape they want, and that means they get to set each other as cornerstones and build everything else around them.
It’s so fundamental to this relationship and this new future that all the building blocks they’re working with, on both sides, are a little bit broken.  Whitestone itself is still a struggling, recovering city sitting on a decimated continent.  Percy is still so caught up in his own anger, still waiting for another shoe to drop, still not quite ready to believe any of this is real.  Vex is pouring through libraries researching Orcus, researching Vecna, waiting for old debts to be called in.  They are neither of them fixed.  They are neither of them safe.
But we get to see, in one-year timeskip, how tentatively and tenaciously they keep working together towards something anyway.  Vex builds a house and a Gray Hunt corps and a tentative detente with her father, starting to pick up those old pieces, starting to try.  Percy builds civic works projects and an international early warning system, still ready for the next disaster, starting to entertain the idea that it doesn’t have to destroy everything.  They get new glasses and open a bakery and invest in armor and ammo and art.  They host a ball.
They get married, in secret, and tell almost nobody they know.  It’s such an asshole thing to do!  They are both still assholes, both still broken enough to be wary of the consequences of inviting their own loved ones to a simple wedding.  They do it because the point isn’t the moment, it’s the marriage, all the future days to come in this new life they’ve agreed they are going to create together.  They want it to be theirs, just theirs, this relationship they never expected to have and now intend to base the rest of their lives on.  It’s kind of a messy, slightly dickish way to go about things, and that’s perfect, because Vex and Percy are kind of messy, slightly dickish people, and they own that together.  They own a lot of things together now.
.
The epilogue of Campaign 1 walks the line between open-ended and closed story in a way I find so deeply satisfying, and so much of that is because of Percy and Vex.
So many stories end at a point where--the day is saved, or it appears to be, and the horizon is wide open for the heroes and the sunset, and everything is triumphant and victorious and anything could happen next.  It’s perfectly satisfying and ripe for sequels, and nothing is quite guaranteed but everybody is happy for now and that’s a good place to tie things up anyway.  It’s the ending of Return of the Jedi, or the first Pacific Rim--something has to happen next, somebody has to figure out what that is, but that’s not the heroes’ problem and that’s not the worry for today.
Sometimes, stories end with everything so tightly wrapped up that there’s no room to breathe.  It’s the ending that says, what you’ve just read or watched or gone through is the entire story.  It is everything that matters.  It is full, and it is complete, and nothing that ever happens in the rest of these characters’ lives will ever be as important as what they’ve just done.  Lord of the Rings does this a bit, and it actually works; Harry Potter does it badly, and I’d submit that The Adventure Zone: Balance does too.  It’s the implication behind every Disney or fairytale happily ever after, although those at least tend to skip the epilogue describing exactly what that happily-ever-after means.
Vex and Percy do neither of these things at the end of their story, or they do both of them, and that’s so great.  They do get the epilogue, with the closed ending and the happily-ever-after.  The Lord and Lady de Rolo settle down, have at least five children, and live in peace for decades until Percy eventually dies of old age and Vex far-more-eventually follows.  Their friends outlive them by decades or centuries.  It’s tidy and nice and final...except.  Whitestone could outlive even Keyleth, and Percy--and by extension now Vex, too--lives as long as Whitestone lives.
Somehow Percy and Vex manage to have an epilogue with every one of the trappings of a perfect picture-book ending, without feeling static.  They’re going to have the house and the kids and the castle and the tiny little kingdom, and it’s going to be full every single day, because inherent in the very makeup of these two people is the inability to ever stop growing.  With the dragons dead, with Vecna gone, they can keep doing exactly what they’ve been doing this entire time.  They can move forward.  They can build.  And they can build something massive that outlasts both of them, lay foundations and groundwork for centuries and generations to come.
Fighting with Vox Machina will always have been the biggest, hardest, most glorious and dangerous, most epic thing that Vex and Percy have ever done, and it’s absolutely over.  The book is done, tied off with a bow.  But they’re not stuck and they’re not empty without it.  They’re going to make clock towers and festivals and change the whole culture of Whitestone.  They’re going to have half a dozen children and raise them towards their future.  The Whitestone of fifty, sixty, seventy years from the end of the campaign when Percy eventually dies will be fundamentally different from the Whitestone they came home to when their adventures ended, and it will be the pair of them who made it so, together.  Which means that even without him Vex will still have him, in civil infrastructure and all the things that let people keep living their lives, in this thing they created as a team, this thing she’ll continue to shepherd and grow without him for the rest of her own life.
And maybe that’s the key to Vex and Percy, to why their ending feels so satisfying, so inevitable and perfect and good.  So many stories end before their characters can change and split away from each other.  So many epilogues decree that their characters will never change, ever, so they can never grow apart.  But Percy and Vex are built of growth and motion, and when they found a match for themselves in each other they decided to point that forward momentum in the same direction and change together for the rest of their lives.  It’s what a real relationship looks like, a real happily-ever-after.  They will pick each other up and help each other on along the way, because we’ve seen it happen.  They’ll hold on to each other, and they’ll build.

Hello friend! I see your (amazing btw) Crit role writing and I thought I'd slip you an idea. Idk if you're a lord of the rings fan, but ep 102 reminded me so much of Sam's speech from the second movie (if you don't know it, it's on YouTube) because I didn't want to know how it would end, and I just thought that was a cool parallel worth sharing. You don't have to do anything with this info, though you're welcome to it!
Anon, thank you. I rewatched that scene at your prompting (it’s been a couple years since I saw Two Towers), and it made me cry with the connection you drew here. So good, so perfect, so touching in that different context.
Here’s something, inspired by that particular scene:
Hold on (even the darkness must pass)
**Spoilers for 102**
At the edge of their camp, Percy stood.
It was relatively quiet in the Feywild, much more so than ithad been the last time they were there. It was almost as if their surroundingswere reflecting the mood of the group - downtrodden and exhausted.
Vex had already split the dusk with a scream to the heavensafter seeing her brother’s armor in Scanlan’s arms. They’d all tried soothingher – Keyleth had even mentioned a spell that would bring him back, though shehad seemed just as wrecked as Vex – but Vex had been inconsolable and had flownoff on her broom into the woods around them.
Keyleth had immediately shifted into Minxie and run afterher, Grog following, leaving Pike, Scanlan, Percy, and Delilah’s body in theclearing at the water’s edge.
Percy remembered firing shots into Delilah’s corpse, rememberedPike pulling him away from it, Pike telling him that she’d keep watch.
He’d wanted to tinker, wanted to fix his guns, but hehonestly couldn’t find the energy.
He had fulfilled his promise to his sister. When they could, they would desecrate her body further, they would make it impossible for her tocome back, at least, to the best of their abilities.
But they were stuck in the Feywild, at least until theyrested.
So he stood at the water’s edge, surveying its depths, tryingto remember what they Feywild had looked like a year before – if it was comingfor the second time or his state of mind that meant he no longer noticed thevibrancy of the colors.
Percy looked up at the sound of heavy footfalls, and sawGrog returning to their camp, just behind Vex and Trinket. As they got closer,Percy could see the tear tracks on Vex’s face and the way her fingers weretightly curled into Trinket’s fur.
She glanced up at him, and Percy tilted his head slightly, holding out a hand in invitation. Slowly, as if she were in a daze, she nodded, and headed toward him, Grog crossing the clearing to where Pike and Scanlanwere sitting.
“What can I do?” Percy asked, once she got close enough. When she stared at him, uncomprehending, for a moment, he tried again. “Is thereanything you need?”
Vex bit her lip and dropped her gaze. She looked beaten, like she hadn’t slept in days, and Percy wanted nothing more than to restoreher brother to her in that moment.
“I could probably use some water,” Vex mumbled with a shrug, curling into herself, and into Trinket, who moaned quietly, swinging his headaround to look at her.
Percy took his own waterskin and held it out to her, lowenough for her to see it, and she took it slowly, with murmured thanks.
After a couple of sips in silence, Vex spoke.
“I shouted at her, at the Raven Queen,” she said, chuckling.“I was so angry, and so… I yelled at a goddess.”
“I think it might be warranted.”
“Mmmm,” Vex hummed, staring at the waterskin for a longmoment before bringing it back up to her lips. “But it didn’t help. Nothing’schanged.”
Percy opened his mouth, trying to find some reassurance, buthe had none. He stepped forward instead, reaching out an arm to put around hershoulders, but she pulled back from him, recoiling as if he had burned her byhis proximity.
“Sorry, I’m sorry,” she whispered, knuckles white around thewaterskin. “I just- right now… Right now I can’t.”
Vex looked up at him, as if to beg him to understand, to notask questions, and though his heart broke, he nodded. He understood all toowell.
“I’ll be here if you need me,” he murmured instead, and hesaw Vex’s eyes fill with tears as she nodded.
For a moment he thought she might say something else, butVex pulled at Trinket’s fur and the two of them went off toward the ruins nearNala’s pool, and Percy was left watching them walk away, feeling a heavy weighton his shoulders.
It was then that Keyleth, as Minxie, started to approach, and Percy saw that she’d been lingering at the edge of the tree line while hetalked to Vex. He waited while she came to him, pushing her considerable weightagainst his right leg, before she chuffed, tossing her head slightly. Percyknelt, resting a hand on top of her head, gently, and she pushed up into histouch, ducking under his arm and pushing her face close to his, whining.
“I know, I know,” Percy murmured, scratching the fur behindher ears as he started to tear up for the first time since leaving theShadowfell. “I know.”
She butted her head against his chest and Percy sat down, stillrunning his fingers through her fur. Keyleth chuffed her thanks, and she walkedup to him, shoulders loping. Letting herself sink to the ground, she pressedher head into his thigh and sighed, the rest of her body going limp while herears went back, almost lying flat on her head.
Percy didn’t say anything else, giving Keyleth the onlycomfort he could.
They sat together for a long while, long enough for Percy’slegs to go numb, tingling slightly, and for Grog to go out into the forest andcome back with some already-dead wood for a fire. Vex and Trinket were still bythe ruins, Vex curled against Trinket’s side. She appeared to be sleeping, andPercy hoped she’d be able to get at least a little rest.
It was after another long stretch, the only noises aroundthem the rustling of plant life in the wind, or a faint splash or gurgle fromthe pool they sat near, that Keyleth dropped Minxie form, shifting to her usualhalf-elf stature, though her head was still pillowed on Percy’s thigh.
He stopped stroking her fur as she changed, but trailed hisfingers through her short hair for a moment, resting them on her shoulder as hefinished.
Keyleth sighed, long and deep, and her breath caught whenshe tried to inhale again. Percy ran his thumb gently over her shoulder as shehad done for him several times, and her fingers came up to meet his as shepushed her face into his leg, squeezing his hand tightly as she took a hold ofit.
He didn’t realize until he felt dampness seeping through, that Keyleth was crying.
“I don’t know if I can do this,” she murmured, just loudenough for him to hear. “This spell – it’s called True Resurrection – it doesn’teven need a ritual if performed right. It should just bring someone back.”
Her breath caught again, and he held her hand tightly, trying to give her some modicum of strength.
“I just-“
She cut herself off, pulling his hand closer to her chest, and she sniffed. “I can’t do this, Percy.”
Watching her for a moment, Percy hummed in agreement, lookingout over the picturesque pool they found themselves at, remembering the wonderhe’d felt on their first visit – the myriad sketches he’d started before gettingblinded by Nala and the seemingly hundreds he had finished before they left.
“I know,” he said finally, brushing his thumb over herfingers. “It all feels wrong.”
He remembered when Vex had fallen to his stupidity in thetomb of the Raven Queen’s champion. The devastation he’d felt seeing her, lyingthere, thinking she was gone forever.
“I mean, we shouldn’t even have made it this far,” he said, thinking of each of his party members and how they’d fallen. Even Keyleth, tothe cliff’s rocks as a goldfish. “But we have.”
He closed his eyes, imagining the foes they’d fought, thebattles they’d won side-by-side. Percy remembered when the Chroma Conclave hadattacked Emon, and thinking that was the worst things could get.
“It’s like in stories,” he murmured, still holding her handas he remembered their first glimpse of the Shadowfell, of the tower and theruins surrounding it. “The ones that matter, that people always tell.”
He remembered his mother teaching him how to read at a youngage, how to string sentences together.
“They were always full of darkness, full of despair anddanger, and more often than not you wouldn’t want to keep listening, becausehow could things get better? How could the end be happy?
“You wondered how things could ever go back to the way theywere.”
Keyleth’s breath hitched again. Percy squeezed her fingers, and pulled her closer.
Thoughts of Whitestone came to his mind – seeing the streetsfilled with undead and mists and terror. He remembered the darkness that hungover his city, filling it like the plague. But he remembered how Whitestone hadlooked before they left for Ank’harel. The Sun Tree, branches green andstarting to flower, the fields rich and green and full of life…
“At the end of the day,” he murmured, glancing over to whereDelilah’s body sat, near Scanlan, “The shadows pass, the darkness flees –sometimes inexplicably. New life comes, and a new day.”
A new tomorrow, his mind supplies, remembering the card reader in Ank’harel, and a sunrise overthe ruins of Draconia as Keyleth’s ritual brought fertile soil to the landagain.
“And when the sun shines again, it shines all the clearer,”Percy murmured, voice growing thick.
“Those were the sort of stories that stick with you; theones that meant something, even when you might have felt too young tounderstand.
“But… I think I understand them now,” Percy said, and helooked around to his friends, to their still-standing forms, broken but notdefeated.
“The heroes in those stories, they had plenty of chances toturn back. Plenty of chances to say “fuck it”, but they didn’t. Because theyalways had something to hold onto.”
Keyleth turned to her back, looking up at him, and he sawthe red in her eyes, saw the wetness on her cheeks and the pain in her thatseemed a deeper reflection of his own.
“And what are we supposed to hold onto?” Keyleth asked him,her voice trembling.
“That there’s some good left in this world,” he replied, almost surprised by his own confidence, and how strongly he believed his ownwords. “And that it’s worth fighting for.”
Keyleth stared at him for a moment, eyes bright, and thenshe pushed herself up to sit next to him, pulling her hand from his so shecould throw her arms around him in a hug.
He held her, on the springy grass next to a glimmering poolin the Feywild, beneath an eternal dusk. And while he didn’t have any more tosay, he held her close, waiting for her sobs to taper out, and felt, somehow, inexplicably, that they were going to make it.

Dead Poets Society Redux: A Dazed Reflection Upon the Roller-coaster Ride that Was Critical Role Episode 84.
Oh man.
SCANLAN SHORTHALT LIVES.  THE DICE GODS HAVE SHOWN US MERCY.
Grog’s and Pike’s contributions to the ritual had me in tears, y’all.  We never get to see angst from them and BOOM there it was at full force.  PIKE’S NAT 20, THOUGH.  PLATONIC OR ROMANTIC, THAT’S SOME TRUE LOVE’S CRIT RIGHT THERE.  I AM CONTINUALLY AMAZED AT HOW NARRATIVELY PERFECT THE DICE SO OFTEN ARE.
Percy’s grief over the nature of resurrection, though.  That is some major survivor’s guilt right there.  He sat there and was like “well fuck, I get to come back, Scanlan gets to come back, but why the hell don’t I get to have my family back”.  WOW.  RIP MY STILL BEATING HEART FROM MY CHEST AND EAT IT IN FRONT OF ME WHY DON’T YOU.  At least he’s actually admitting his grief to his friends and attempting to deal with it instead of bottling it up.
PERCY AND PIKE’S PRANK WAS THE FUCKING BEST.  WE HARDLY EVER GET TO SEE THEIR FRIENDSHIP IN ACTION AND THIS WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.  THEY GET DRUNK AND BECOME MISCHIEVOUS ASSHOLE CHILDREN.  AND KERR IS THERE.  ALSO DRUNK.  AND HE HELPS AND WE FIND OUT THAT HE MAY HAVE SOME KINKY IN HIS PAST.  WHAT A NIGHT.
No but I was getting vibes from Kerr when he was asking about resurrection stuff that maybe he was asking because he was hoping that he could rez a fallen friend from his past or something.  THERE’S SO MUCH ABOUT HIM THAT WE DON’T KNOW.  UGH.
Vax staying the temple overnight, wondering what the fuck happens now and wondering if the Raven Queen still has some things she needs him to do for her.  Talk about “the next arc is gonna be about Vecna/undead/necromancy” vibes.  Like woah.
Oh my god, the Twins’ conversation wrecked me.  Now that the Chroma Conclave is finished, they can have the luxury of thinking about their future, but that means they have to deal with the fact that the things they each want don’t keep them on the same path.  Vax wants to go with Keyleth back to the Ashari.  Vex wants to stay in Whitestone with Percy and fully embrace her new home.  The fact that she was hoping that Vax would stay to tend his temple so that she wouldn’t be separated from him is just all kinds of HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO US LAURA, BUT ALSO I LOVE YOU.  I can’t wait for Team Half-elf and the Disaster Human to sit down and have a serious talk about what they want and what they’re going to do.  I can’t wait to have my heart ripped out again.
I was really hoping that we’d get a conversation between Percy and Cassandra, but clearly he isn’t ready to deal with that yet.  TALK TO YOUR SISTER, PERCY.  SHE’S A TEENAGED SOVEREIGN WHO FEELS OVERBURDENED AND ABANDONED.  SHE NEEDS LOVE AND SUPPORT.  STOP BEING A SHITTY BROTHER.
I feel like even in his departure, Kerrek was still at maximum dad friend.  Like that was what I sort of imagined it’s like when a good dad helps their kid move away for the first time. Ugh, feels.
THERE IS TOTALLY GOING TO BE LIKE AN ESTABLISHED WEEK-LONG FESTIVAL IN EMON TO CELEBRATE THE DEFEAT OF THE CHROMA CONCLAVE EVERY YEAR NOW.  WITH JUST ENOUGH HONORING OF VM TO MAKE THEM SLIGHTLY UNCOMFORTABLE.
VM’s paranoia over Cenokir’s box was fucking heartbreaking, my dudes.  They have been so fucked up by everything that has happened to them, that they can’t trust anything.  What makes it even worse is that they are completely self aware.  They know they’re fucked up, but like any traumatized person, they also realize that knowing what’s wrong with them and stopping it from controlling their actions are two very different things.
LAMORE THOUGH.  THE FACT THAT THAT’S AN ANAGRAM OF MELORA IS FUCKING ME UP.  WHAT IF THAT WAS ACTUALLY MELORA, YO?  WHAT IF SHE BASICALLY JUST TOLD KEYLETH “YOU CAN KEEP MY STAFF AS LONG AS YOU FEEL YOU NEED IT”?  THAT’S SOME FUCKING TRUST IN KEYLETH’S PURITY OF HEART RIGHT THERE.  ALSO THE IDEA THAT A GOD JUST GENTLY TOLD HER THAT SHE DOUBTS HERSELF TOO MUCH HAS ME BLASTING OFF AGAIN LIKE FUCKING TEAM ROCKET.
Is it just me, or have a lot of the non-religious members of VM gotten closer to the gods lately?  Keyleth’s developing a relationship with Melora.  Vex was showing a little bit of reverence to Melora.  Grog is expressing interest in the ways of Kord.  What if this plays a major role in the next arc?  I wonder what it would take for Percy to change his attitude towards the gods.  I wonder if Scanlan will at any point think about his relationship to the gods.
Speaking of Grog and Kord, GUESS WHO’S FUCKING STOKED FOR EARTHBREAKER GROON VS. GROG PART 2.  WHAT IF GROG TAKES LEVELS IN MONK.  THAT WOULD BE FUCKING DOPE.  HE’D ALSO BE THE FIRST TO TRIPLE-CLASS.
I ALSO REALLY FUCKING WANNA SEE VICTOR AGAIN AND IF GERN SHOWS UP AT ANY POINT BECAUSE THE NECROMANCER YOU KNOW, I WILL BE SO FUCKING HAPPY.  FINGERS CROSSED.

Crimson Hotel & Resorts Launches Happy Summer 2019
The summer season is already here and you can really feel it in the air. Aside from the intense heat these past few days, everybody seems to be excited to put their traveling shoes on and head to the beach. Boracay has finally reopened while Mactan in Cebu is also a good summer destination. Of course, going on an extended staycation is also a relaxing and pleasant activity, so Crimson Hotels and Quest Hotels has lined up some exciting promotions to welcome this busy season.
Chroma Hospitality, the hotel and resort arm of the Filinvest Group, has just launched “Hello Summer 2019″ with the hottest offers from destinations in Mactan, Manila, Clark, Cebu, Tagaytay and Boracay! With their portfolio of proudly distinct brands under Crimson Hotels and Quest Hotels, expect a wild and adventurous summer enjoying their cosmopolitan city hotels and luxurious beach destinations.
It’s time to sizzle this summer! Book direct at www.crimsonhotel.com using the promo code HELLOSUMMER and check out their awesome deals.  Book your summer package with stay dates from March 15 to June 30, 2019 and get a chance to win round-trip tickets for two to international destinations such as Hongkong, Macau, Kota Kinabalu, Siem Reap and local destinations like Puerto Princesa and Cebu care of Cebu Pacific. Each night of stay will be entitled to 1 raffle coupon.
Crimson Filinvest City held a summer launch party last March 7 at The Deck Bar poolside to celebrate the start of Hello Summer 2019. Guests were treated to a barbecue pool party complete with summer hats and overflowing cocktails. This is a such great way to welcome summer!
There was lots food and drinks for everyone. Burgers, popcorn, pizza, and hot-off-the-grill items such as salmon, sausages, chicken, and pork barbecues were on the table.
Desserts were also plentiful with cream puffs, beer cake, revel bars, fruits, and more.
Chroma Hospitality VP for sales & marketing Carmela Bocanegra opened the program by announcing the exciting promotions and activities for the summer season. All properties under Crimson Hotels and Quest Hotels have their own respective promotions which you can find on www.crimsonhotel.com. Here are some of my favorites.
Crimson Hotel Filinvest City is an urban sanctuary housed in a stunning tower complex right in the heart of Alabang. I have had plenty of relaxing stays here in the past few years, so guests can definitely experience a blissful vacation with their summer staycation deals. The Cityholic package starts at P3,840++ and includes an overnight stay in a Deluxe Room, a Hello Summer collection, and complimentary access to the swimming pool and fitness center.
You can also get other packages like the Do Not Disturb at P5,440++ which includes a buffet breakfast for two persons at Café Eight or a breakfast in bed. This also comes with your choice of one additional freebie such as a relaxing massage for two, premium movie tickets for two, Happy Hour for two at the Deck Bar, or two Summer Cocktails at the Lobby Lounge. If you want a longer stay, the Oasis in the South starts at P8,800++ with three days and two nights in a Deluxe Room with buffet breakfast. An Urban Glampcation is also available at P9,600++ which comes with an overnight stay in two connecting Premier Rooms, glamping set-up for kids, buffet breakfast for two, Hello Summer collection, and choice of one additional freebie. Guests also get a chance to win round-trip tickets for two to Kota Kinabalu for every night stay.
March is National Women’s Month so Crimson Hotel Filinvest City honors fearless women with its #BOSSBABE campaign. Ladies who rise up to challenges and take on the world are offered with special dining treats. Café Eight treats all its female guests this March with a 50% discount on its lunch and dinner buffet. The Women Who Dine special buffet promotion lets the ladies seize the day with powerful gastronomy for as low as P737++ per person.
An art exhibition will also highlight the colorful world of women. Showcasing the society of female artists who exude talent and confidence, the United Women Artists Association of the Philippines (UWAAP), in partnership with Crimson Hotel Filinvest City is holding an art exhibit in commemoration of the Women's Month. The FilipinArt Exhibit will run from March 8-22, 2019 at the hotel’s Gallery.
Over in Cebu, Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan is giving us plenty of reasons to love summer even more. ⁣The Summer Daze package comes with a welcome drink, two nights room accommodation for two adults and two children; buffet breakfast at Saffron Café; complimentary one-hour use of the Karaoke Room in Score Sports Bar; complimentary mini bar items; use of snorkeling gears; a 15-minute foot massage by the poolside; and P500.00 cash rebate per room per night which may be used for airport transfers, meals in the restaurants, spa services and sports and leisure activities.
Rate for the Summer Daze promotion starts at P15,000++ for two nights. Book the Summer Daze from March 15 to June 15, 2019, and you can also get a chance to win a roundtrip ticket for two to Macau in partnership with Cebu Pacific. I have dined at Crimson Mactan before, but I have yet to stay at their villas, so this package is a great opportunity for me to finally do so.
I visited Crimson Boracay last year just before the island was closed for rehabilitation. Now that Boracay is back open this summer, Crimson Boracay is offering generous Hello Summer packages starting at P11,500++ per night for their Deluxe Room category. Aside from their usual inclusions of complimentary mini bar upon arrival, welcome drinks, roundtrip transfers via Caticlan, and daily breakfast for two at Saffron, those who will avail of this promotion will also be treated to sunset cocktails for two persons at Azure Beach Club or J’s Pool Bar from 3pm to 6pm.
For a luxurious holiday, guests may also book Crimson Boracay’s Villa with Plunge Pool – a private space that offers indulgence at its finest. Aside from the usual inclusions, Villa guests are given the utmost attention to detail with their own Villa Host, dedicated to take care of their needs during their stay as well as an added buffet dinner for two at Saffron. You can avail of these packages from March 15 to June 30, 2019 and you will also have a chance to win two round trip tickets to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Quest Hotel and Conference Center Clark is a 4-star hotel nestled within the beautifully landscaped Mimosa Leisure Estate. It offers a 36-hole championship golf course, a casino, and a hub for duty free shopping. The Love Summer at Clark package starts at P4,950 nett and comes with an overnight stay, buffet breakfast for two at Cafe Mequeni, a scoop of hello summer gelato, and other summer treats.
