everyone’s so bummed about voxval not being “official” that i think we’re forgetting how much potential there is now. slowburn mutual pining? awkward embarrassing attempts at flirting? a CONFESSION SONG???? i think them having a weird messy undefined relationship is WAY more interesting and in character than if they were to be fully dating in the conventional sense of the word

In 2012, Mattel released the Hope Diamond Barbie - yes, modelled after the most famous diamond in the world.

I vaguely seem to recall being taught growing up that the Hope Diamond was the biggest diamond ever found, but it's occurred to me while writing this that I don't know if that's true. Apparently the largest diamond in the world is the Cullinan diamond, discovered in 1905 and named after the owner of the mine (and not, like, the miner... but if I go too deep down that path I will start talking about things REALLY unrelated to Barbie.)

While the redhead version was a Gold Label release with 6500 dolls created, there was also a blonde version that was a convention exclusive for the 2012 Italian doll convention.

The doll was designed by Robert Best, a very prolific Barbie designer. I don't think it's one of his best efforts but I do think Hope Diamond Barbie looks elegant and refined. I significantly prefer the redhead version of her.

regarding common tropes about ganon's writing in fics, I am kind of always taken aback a little anytime ganondorf uses degrading sexist terms in fics and such. Because to me, even his most evil interpretations would probably have no reason to have negative associations with women who have sex a lot, unless he picked it up from elsewhere (like there's some room for it to be interesting psychologically speaking if that's directly addressed, but it never is). I'm not sure why the gerudos would ever cultivate these kind of misogynistic ideas in their own culture, or why Ganondorf would spontaneously decide to form any essentialist ideas he may potentially develop on the basis of promiscuity, of all things. And, if he would pick that up from Hyrule... why would he, why this, and how does that map out with him remaining proudly gerudo in most iterations if he sees any non-married woman getting funky in a negative way?

it's kind of a very small thing, but it does kind of beckons a lot of questions regarding worldbuilding and psychology and it tends to take me out of fics a little, because it's always kind of assumed and never investigated

#thoughts #ganondorf #fics #meta #I realize it's often more about Conventions of Genre than anything else #especially in anything smut-adjacent #but it always leaves me scratching my chin a little #I guess I could buy it if the worldbuilding of the gerudos placed a HUGE emphasis on pairing up #(not my fave but that's just my bias and I can still see it)#but then it has no reason to take on sexist undertones it would be the same for everybody #as to sex work I could see why it could potentially be viewed negatively if certain logics of above worldbuilding applied #(I personally prefer them to have no bias against that especially in such a tight-knit community but that's a forking of worldbuilding)#(none of which is particularly more valid than the other)#BUT AGAIN there's no reason why he would hold it against women moreso than anybody else #the only thing I could sort of see is him pressing down on wounds he know would hurt hylians out of strategy #but even then I would like for this kind of default thing to be explored unearthed and recontextualized a bit more #just because ganondorf being raised by women exclusively is in my personal top three of most interesting things about him #in how it shaped him and didn't #again no biggie or anything #I was just thinking about that #I think using the “Adult” tag for this was a stretch #but better safe than sorry haha

I think it's better to just acknowledge that we don't know much about this historical figure #ie: I do wish that her piety and patronage was emphasized more yes. but it shouldn't flip too far to the other side either.

Ok so i havent seen the actual movie yet but i just want to ask does anyone have a clear pictures of Inspector Singh cause from what i have seen he looks like a sikh man and if he were than that means that Gayatri would be named as Gayatri Kaur instead of Gayatri Singh

#And i can be wrong though cause Singh itself isnt an exclusively sikh surname #But from the turban and all i am guessing they were inspired by them #But that being said if he is sikh than his daughter's surname would most likely be kaur #Sikhism has different surname conventions #(if you are a guy you are Singh and if you are a girl than Kaur and the first name is a gender neutral name)#(So technically she shouldnt be even named Gayatri which is a hindu name)#Look i am not asking fans or the writers to do full scale research on ethnicity of what is essentially a bg bg character #I just saw whom i thought was Inspector Singh and was just really confused #inspector singh #gayatri singh #pavitr prabhakar #across the spiderverse
