Marble has come a long way from being used only for a luxurious marble flooring or a marble kitchen countertop. Today we can envision and apply different types of marble across different areas from marble bathroom, kitchen countertops, highlighter walls to outdoor marble seating, fountains, wall claddings, bathtubs and more. Know the origin of your chosen slab.

Each marble slab that is displayed at The Quarry Gallery is sourced from the best quarries, only. This can largely help you determine the ideal application for the stone of your choice. Example – some slabs curated from South America like Ombiancaare suitable for both interiorand exterior uses; whereas the Carrara marble which comes from Italy can be used only for interiors, like a grand marble flooring or a flawless marble bathroom. The QuarryCurators are experts when it comes to our luxurious collection and would love to tell you more from origin to ideal finishes, applications and more.

Picking the right colours.

This is seemingly the best part of the marble selection process. Natural marble comes in many different shades, tints and tones. This spans across the purest white marble to the brightest reds and pinks, calming blues to the deep blacks and browns. Light colours can create the illusion of more space, whereas darker colours can make your room feel more intimate and cosier. About the final finishing touch.

The finish you choose for your marble slab plays an important role in its upkeep. While a polished marbleslab may be more likely to show timely corrosion and etching, a honed finish will age a lot more gracefully. The same can be said for the way the corners are finished, narrow-cut corners may be more likely to chip than a rounded-off one. Caring for your chosen marble.

Once you’ve done your research, discussed your options with our curators, picked your marble and confirmed a cut, you should also get familiar with what its maintenance might require. Although we offer 1000 day maintenance assistance for each slab, a certain dos and don’ts are recommended to ensure its longevity. For instance, acidic or oily substances like citrus, vinegar or cleaning products can leave markings on your marble called etching. This can dull the surface of your marble kitchen countertop and can be difficult to remove without professional help. To avoid this, we have invested in technologies like the QVAC – a special ultra-strengthening technology to increase the integrity and longevity of the stone. The Quarry Densification process makes each slab highly stain resistant and the amazing bacteria-resistant BactoFinish.
