This week we got the privilege to meet an amazing team from Surdaan Ameya, Sanchay, Kavni, Kriti and Milli.
Surdaan will be holding their fifth Annual Charity Benefit Concert on August 9th. Each year high school students of Alaap School of Music come together for Surdaan - summer musical concert. The students showcase their singing talents while using their voices to help others in need. Surdaan 2020 is extra special. This year the musical event will be online allowing the kids to reach audiences all over the world. And the funds raised from ticket sales and donations will benefit 2 charities.
For those purchasing tickets in the US, each ticket is $25 per family. You can purchase additional tickets for $10 for family and friends in India under your bundle. In the US, payment will be accepted in the form of cash, cheques, or zelle.
For residents in India wishing to purchase the ticket, it is 500 rupees per family. In India, the payments will be accepted through Google pay. Please check out our previous post for more information on how to purchase tickets.

It happens all the time. We get a new tool and think it can be used to fix anything.
Industrial mass use of carbon fuels at the turn of the 20th century was seen as a shortcut to economic growth. Now it’s threatening the planet.
Later in the century chemistry was seen as a panacea for many things. We are now spending lots of time and money remediating toxic dump sites. The profusion of plastics is another result of “better living through chemistry”.
And with the rise of digital technology the tech oligarchs promoted the idea that the internet and related technologies would usher in a new golden age – as long as users gave up all their personal data to Silicon Valley. Naïve cyber-utopians claimed that digitalization would automatically democratize the planet.
Totalitarians have used the internet to their own advantage. They erect firewalls to censor information coming in from outside the country while propagating disinformation to undermine opponents abroad. Meanwhile, the Silicon Valley oligarchs become increasingly rich and powerful by stockpiling information about you. The internet is getting increasingly dystopian rather than utopian.
We are biological beings and need to interact with the world and its ecosystems as such. All the digital technology on the planet can’t prevent a pandemic.

Chicken Karahi (Indian Food)
We armed with our hungry tummies went to Taj Banana leaf to eat our lunch. Taj Banana leaf is established in 2016 until now. In this Indian restaurant, more of the dishes like to use the leaf as a plate. In Indian culture, using fresh leaves was considered more sterile than using wooden utensils (Hegde et al. 2018).
Chicken Karahi is the most flavourful dish from the Indian. In Malaysia, chicken kadai is served in many Indian restaurants. The price is RM15.00 for a la carte. If you want to add on wheat rice, the price will be RM18.00.
A mixture of freshly ground spices brings in enticing and spicy flavours. But it is not too spicy so who does not like to eat spicily also can try it.
It cooked with onions, tomatoes and chicken chunks of the bone. Red chillies and tomatoes give this dish look like a beautiful colour.
In the restaurant, the chicken karahi served in a la carte. However, you can add rice served with the chicken karahi. This is our first time trying to eat chicken karahi and the taste engage us to feel stunning.
