The Sacred City of Caral-Supe, one of the most important and little-known cultures of the American continent, is located in the province of Barranca, Lima Region, Peru.
“It constitutes the oldest manifestation of civilization in Peru and on the American continent due to its 5,000 years of age. It is made up of 32 monumental buildings, included in a complex system of settlements that show a strong religious ideology, among which are distinguished ceremonial buildings, residential sectors for people of different social rank, a set of minor temples and production workshops. Caral led a settlement system that brought together 17 similar, although smaller, sites located in the Supe Valley.
“It expresses the complexity and development of an early socio-political and economic organization model during the Late Archaic Period (5000-3800 BP) originated independently by the Andean societies that inhabited this small fertile valley on the central Peruvian coast.”

The Great Pyramid of Giza is undoubtedly one of the most well-known icons of the ancient world. But thousands of other pyramids exist, not just in Egypt, but across the entire globe, including Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. The reason why so many ancient civilizations, many of which had no contact with each other, were constructing pyramids at around the same time remains a bit of a mystery.

From the Sacred City of Caral, the oldest civilization in the Americas, to the 2,400-year-old pig-shaped guttus, a baby's bottle and toy combo from ancient Italy; each of these amazing artifacts redefines our understanding of ancient civilizations.

idg why i've seen several primitivist and/or anti civ bloggers welcome the dawn of everything as compatible with anti civ thought or affirming of against his-tory against leviathan in particular. the research presented by graeber and wengrow challenges the idea that agriculture is a trap (or entirely separable from other cultivation) and the idea that cities must be class societies that ravage their environs.
the collective understanding of what civilization is seems rather nebulous. which makes sense because civilization is inherently an exclusionary and hierarchical concept—i reject attempts to salvage the designation by including select achievements of precolonial peoples. it makes more sense to oppose civilization as a value system and a mandate.

for the polyarmory: 🎮 🎲 🤝
for Dealer's Choice: 👎 🐹 🐁
The polyarmory:
🎮 If your OC lives or would live in the modern world, would they like video games? What would be their favorite game?
Zora would absolutely play video games (video games are art after all), and I think Katamari Damacy would be her favorite. Roxanne's not super into playing video games, but she enjoys watching others play them and fondly remembers watching her moms play Tomb Raider. Gunvor only played em occasionally and doesn't really have any favorites.
🎲 If your OC played a pen and paper RPG, what class would they pick? Warrior, mage, thief, ranger, cleric, paladin, druid, necromancer, bard (or other, if that’s not enough).
Zora would play a paladin as a fun parallel to her contract with Utu. Roxanne would do ranger to lowkey share random nature facts through the character. Gunvor would go artificer, specifically steel defender so that she can have an animal.
🤝 Does your OC have someone they want at their side when they are scared? Who?
Why, the rest of the polyarmory of course ;P That said, having Coaxoch or Meszahi's hand in hers helps Zora feel more steady. Roxanne just want a hand from any of them, even if it's the chaotic Iolanthe. Io's is Gunvor's first choice at who she wants by her because they've been together longer.
Dealer's Choice:
👎 Is there someone your OC can’t stand, despite them being on the same side or sharing basic values?
The Boar absolutely hates the Lion Empress. 100% totally
🐹 Which would be your OCs favorite Pokemon? What kind of trainer would they be?
Rust's would love Galvantula and would actually be a bug trainer even though they look like they should be an electric trainer.
🐁 Capybaras are friend-shaped. What shape does your OC have?
Aleks is friend shaped :> The oversized coat helps.
