The beginning of Rowanclan.
The cats, finally home, shed their names. Only Starclan knows them now.
Moon 0:
- Sloefog (the deputy) fell out of a tree chasing a squirrel and sprained their leg.
Moon 1:
- Morningwisp makes sure Brookstar knows everybody is looking out for him, then congragulates them on a job well done. Brookstar is feeling harrassed…
- Brookstar and whiskerprance head out on a patrol, but a skunk gets them, they end up smelling fowl for days.
Welcome to the first moon! I’m not drawing everything that happens in a moon, but i’ll be sure to add it at the bottom so you know what else has been happening.
Please be patient, no Clangen came is super interesting until the second year. I will update again soon!

Quick doodles of the BrookClan founders (and StarClan guide).
Notes from before I started under the cut.
- The game said Kinkfur was “strange” and somehow I apparently interpreted that as “uncanny”.
- Even though all the founders randomize in with no families, I like to imagine that Turtlejaw is Ashenwing’s older sister. Something about the sweet StarClan guide being the older sister of the Clan’s most bloodthirsty warrior is hilarious to me.
- Sunnyflame’s colours make me so happy to look at in her sprite in-game.
- Snappaw being ambitious and Brookstar’s apprentice… I like to imagine she wore Brookstar down the whole time they were first setting the Clan up.
- Fun fact: I seriously considered making Jaythorn the Medicine Cat before ultimately settling on Kinkfur. And then Jaythorn randomized in with the “strong connection to StarClan” trait.
- I don’t know what it is about Moonpaw, but I’m rooting for him.

When The Lights Go Out-Chapter Two
Murmured yowls of dismay were let out from across the stone hollow.Brookstar called for silence. "Last night GreyStar has announced an invasion to our camp. He states that each one of our kits will be slaughtered unless we surrender our territory." Pinkfoot's kits cried and ran to their mother and squealed in fright. Riverwing pressed against her mate Mudwhisker's pelt. Suddenly a huge tabby tom appeared out of nowhere and clawed a deep gash through Brookstar's neck. It was Greystar! pinkfoot's kits went ballistic and zoomed in all directions. More Darkclan warriors started appearing in the clearing and began attacking from all directions. Riverwing Twisted around to see a Darkclan she cat leap into the air and pin her to the ground with a crash. riverwing felt the she cat's claws rake her soft belly and with another shriek of pain Riverwing gained a deep gash on the right side of her face. But riverwing kicked out harder than she ever had, and she cat hit the ground with a dizzying thud. River sprinted towards pinkfoot's eldest kit, goldkit, and scooped her up in her mouth and River ran faster out of camp than she ever had before. Brambles clawed at her fur and thorns tugged at her pelt, but she didn't stop running. Tears flooded her eyes, and she heard a call behind her, but She didn't stop.
Rivers legs were growing weak, and the grass had begun to turn to mud. River slowed to a stop and her jaw fell agape. she was in a clearing that she had never been to before. A shimmering pool separated the trees from the rest of the forest. it had begun to lightly rain.it was evening now, and river had grown tired carrying Goldkit. she lapped up some clear water and nuzzled into some ferns with goldkit, and sleep washed over both. The rain had begun to pour by the time River was awoken. A familiar face peered over at her, and she stared aghast. "Mudwhisker?! How on earth did you get here?" Mudwhisker smiled and said "I saw you leave, and I ran after you. Eventually you ran so far ahead I lost you and I spent hours searching." They brushed pelts purring and snuugling.then she felt mudwhisker go unusually stiff. "mudwhisker? are you okay?" mudwisker turned with a painfully burning look on his face fell sideways into a pool.

thinking wayyy too hard abt russetstar and songstar even though their whole deal is very background to the main plot of tsotr. rainsong wouldn’t have even known if she hadn’t walked in and seen russet talking with her mother about it
but anyway
russetstar was originally russetface, songstar was originally songtuft. russet was named that for her beauty, and as a young warrior she was a big flirt
she met song at a gathering and they flirted a bit. then like a season later she sees him again and they’re flirting and he admits he’s just been named deputy so he should probably stop. it was a nepotism thing; his mother was the deputy and brookstar decided arbitrarily to make him deputy even though he’s young and inexperienced. nobody is happy about it except brookstar
but then russet tells him he needs something to take his mind off all the stress. so they agree to meet in secret
and it goes on for a while. then russet gets made deputy, having become more experienced and wise. they decide to break it off so she can focus on her duties
then honeystar and brookstar die within the same moon as each other, thrusting russet and song into leadership at the same time. they decide to get back together to support each other. it’s only meant to be for a little while
well. it’s a little while longer than that. because middle aged, wise, experienced russetstar is still sneaking off to her secret skyclan mate
and eventually it culminates in two little kits. rowankit and robinkit
russetstar names them rowansong and robintuft
if anyone notices their resemblance to a certain skyclan leader, they wisely decide to keep their mouth shut

Beetlestar’s Path: Introduction
I first began writing Beetlestar’s Path because I wanted to elaborate on the character of Beetlestar, who served as a villain in a previous fanfic I wrote called The Darkest Moons. Beetlestar’s Path itself is a parallel book, taking place during the events of TDM, beginning almost a year before TDM and ending not long after.
It begins with Beetlewing, the deputy of WaterClan who is presented with a real challenge when his leader, Brookstar, falls ill, leaving him to act in her place. WaterClan struggles against TreeClan to the north, and with its own secretive members, and upon becoming Beetlestar, things only get harder. Beetlestar’s anger towards TreeClan becomes misdirected, however, turning towards the neighboring DarkClan as he blames them for WaterClan’s struggles and flaming his own deep resentments and grudges.
Beetlestar is a villain, angry and seeking vengeance and security for his Clan through questionable means as he allies with a pack of vengeful rogues to take on DarkClan, turning from a victim to a bully. But Beetlewing is a deep character, and by the end he knows he must reconsider everything he knows.

Hello everybody! I thought it out and decided this will probably be my last actual Rowanclan post for this year, No moon event this time.
I want to get some reference sheets done aswell as figure out what to do with the artstyle and layout changes. I promise i’m not giving Rowanclan up, there are big things in their future I’m so excited to share.
I’m also going through a bit of art block, so i’m trying not to do digital art for a while.

Chapter one
The sun was barely over the horizon when Riverripple had left camp.the glowing morning light reflected Riverripple's dark grey-blue pelt in the water of the lake.the repetitive and tiresome beat that river walked everyday made no sense to her anymore.She was just a cloud floating inthe endless black night.River's sister Mapleseed had passed away last moon and River seemed to feel alone now.Their mother,Featherclaw had died giving birth to them and Thier brother,Amberpeak,was killed by a thunderclan warrior.Nightwhisker the riverclan deputy ran up to her.She spoke gently to River but it seemed that every word was a claw to her heart."River?" River closed her eyes and a tear fell into her reflection.River had not spoken to a single warrior for nearly two moons."River,please.come back to camp.Brookstar has called a meeting"
"ok"said Riverripple into he smallest voice and leant her pelt against Nightwhisker.She was so cold,like the dying body of an elder in their sleep.the sun's pink light spillt across the lake,and Night's warm breath sighed quietly across the moorland."let's go"
The two she-cats arrive we at riverclan camp just as the sun had fully risen. Lightpelt was sorting herbs in her den and brookstar was calling out across the armada of cats.instead of the regular call, Brook yelled "All cats,any cats,gather here for a clan meeting,for none us are safe"
