Prompt 183
There’s a loud snarling noise outside the window.
Not that Jazz is concerned. She’s just also trying to study for med school and would appreciate some quiet. And preferred her brother not contracting rabies whenever he tried to square off with the local rogue or three who tried to use the alley.
As he had put it, it was his alley, he’d claimed it for tinkering. Though perhaps she should maybe ask him to quiet down on his insisted territorialism, even if she understood it. She would also probably maul someone if they tried to enter their apartment flat. It came with the territory of being ecto contaminated, or as the rest of them were now calling it, with being a liminal.
Once the more draconic aspects started to emerge well, one wasn’t just contaminated anymore after all. Hence the whole school-worth of them leaving Amity while all their parents waged war against the guys in white. Last she heard it was going well.
Which meant she could focus on her studies as soon as- okay it wouldn’t be quiet, it seems the rest of the kids joined in on mauling the poor idiot who tried to steal their things from the alley. Damn…

I want a fun amnesia fic!!!
Like, idk, Billy crashes some monster fight or whatever and it ends with him hitting his head, and of course they have to bring him to the hospital. Only when he wakes up he has AMNESIA! Doesn't remember anything from Hawkins or a certain time before.
(Oh and Neil is gone for this obviously, let's say he fucked off with the neighbor's wife a week ago and was never heard of again, whatever, good riddance, bye)
ANYWAY, Steve reluctantly stayed behind at the hospital because he felt responsible for the asshole and also the other people who Knew were kids (who had curfews and school) and Hopper (who had a job), so Steve got stuck on Billy-sitting duty.
And, like, a nurse shows him into Billy's room when Billy's awake and says "Hey William, your friend is here", and Billy is all confused like "Friend?" and Steve gets awkward and goes "He goes by Billy actually" to the nurse so he won't have to look Billy in the eye.
So then Billy thinks they're friends. And Steve plays along, because it's easier than explaining things. And then the Party finds out and decides that this is an excellent opportunity for PAYBACK, so they play along too, once Billy gets out of the hospital. Lots of things like,
"Don't tell me you've forgotten how to play d'n'd, it used to be your FAVORITE" and
"But Billy you ALWAYS drive us to the arcade, because you want to beat Lucas' score even though you never do" and
"You having amnesia won't stop you from teaching us how to drive, right? We usually use your car after school on Thursdays and Fridays" and
"No, you don't have a bike of your own so you usually borrow Dustin's mom's bike" and
"Here, take this wooden sword. If we're watching The Hobbit we're doing it in COSTUME, like we normally do"
Etc.
And the kids are having fun with it and lauhhs at him behind his back because they get SO MUCH blackmail material, and Steve's having fun too because it's amusing to see big bad Billy Hargrove do very un-characteristic things and Hopper just lets it happen and is halfway amused too, but like in secret.
And, like, Billy's confused and doesn't understand that they're messing with him, but Steve's his friend and the kids obviously want him around and want to do things with him, so it's weird but he learns to roll with it, right? He doesn't remember Max and him having such a good relationship before, but she says that he got way better when they moved to Hawkins and it's obviously true because they hang out all the time and he helps her with her homework and skates with her and everything so he figures it has to be true.
And of course IT BACKFIRES ON THE PARTY because Billy turns out to be a fun guy to be around, nerdy and funny and sarcastic in a fun way and protective of his friends and kids, and when he and Steve are alone they have these really deep discussions and get closer and Steve's starting to FALL for this guy, this version of Billy who isn't so angry and hurt, but is soft and smart and smiles when he sees Steve and throws his arm over Steve's shoulders all the time and whose eyes crinkle with delight when he manages to get Steve to laugh ...
And this wasn't supposed to happen! They were gonna mess with him, for payback, and that was it!
But now they ACTUALLY like Billy, and want to keep him!
(Which is of course when he starts to regain his memory ... What happens next??)

your ideal billy/teddy duo comic (plot, character designs, artists and writers involved etc)
One thing that I've always wanted to see is a comic about Billy and/or Teddy that was produced entirely by mlm creators. Vecchio, Robles and Gracia are all gay artists who've worked with the characters on recent titles, and I'm eager to see more from them. While none of these artists have ever shown the characters in a way that exactly suits my wants, they've each demonstrated a clear personal vision of who Billy and Teddy are that I can respect. I find that Vecchio and Robles, as illustrators, both articulate a gay sensibility in their designs and are able to represent a range of gay identities and expressions with not only dignity, but real love, which is frustratingly hard to come by. Oh, also, Kevin Wada covers, because duh.
Writers are a little bit more difficult for me. I love Anthony Oliviera and I know that he's got a lot of ideas for the characters, so I'd be delighted to see anything that he might pitch. Vecchio also does write, and his creator-owned series, Sereno, is an urban superhero story in a modern fantasy setting-- something he describes as Batman Beyond meets Sailor Moon. Based on that, I think he'd do a great job telling a story about a witch and shapeshifter from New York. I know that Sina doesn't work for Marvel anymore, but I've always wished he could've done Billy and Teddy in a sweet little rom-com miniseries, or even just a single issue special. He's particularly good at writing tender, funny, and just unapologetically gay characters who signal authentic elements of our culture and community without making them cheap or laughable. That is a quality which I find essential for Billy and Teddy, and it's part of why I want more mlm creators to work with them.
If you had asked me this question last year, I would have had an easier time pitching ideas for these characters. I'm eager to see what the future holds for them, but "rulers of an interplanetary nation" was never part of my vision for how Billy and Teddy would be spending their early twenties. I did have this idea for an ongoing series about their "college years", wherein Billy would be studying magic with Wanda and Agatha, and Teddy would work part time with Carol or Alpha Flight while attending community college or learning a trade, like piercing or tattoo artistry. The idea was that they'd often spend time apart, as they'd each be focusing on their own careers and having individual storylines, but they'd always come home to each other at the end of the day and lend each other support, in ways both mundane and super-heroic.
I used to imagine that they'd stay in that nice apartment Sunspot got them, which would act as sort of a crash pad/base of operations for a revolving cast of their friends. They could convert one of the rooms into a magical sanctum for Billy, and another into a study room or art studio for Teddy. Tommy, America, Kate, or whoever could crash on their sofa whenever they're in town or need to do a team-up. Wanda could help Billy ward the apartment so that he and America are the only ones who can portal in and out, but then Loki would find a way to get around the wards and cause trouble, and there'd be a whole dramatic reunion. The whole idea could easily be adapted as a Young Avengers ongoing if you widened the focus from the main couple and treated it as an ensemble piece with individually chunked plot-arcs, much like the original series.
Unfortunately, that idea no longer holds as much water as I'd like because, for one thing, they lost that apartment and never explained why-- it seems like it was passively retconned out in between New Avengers and Death's Head. More importantly, they now live in space, with Teddy being a busy ruler of an interstellar Alliance, and Billy his prince-consort.
I would still like to explore the idea of them pursuing separate goals and working in separate fields while never being truly apart. Empyre introduced a clever plot device wherein Billy is now able to sense Teddy's location and teleport to him instantly, no matter the distance, which, I assume, works in reverse as well. This feat of magic is made possible by their marriage, which binds them symbolically and draws on the power of their love. They can go anywhere and do anything on their own, and still be together again at a moments' notice, which is super romantic and also affords them more flexibility than most superhero couples. I would still pitch a series about Billy doing magic work on Earth while Teddy does diplomacy in space, and one can always warp to the other when they need backup fighting a bad guy. They could even switch back and forth between staying on Teddy's throne-ship, and getting cozy at Billy's little Manhattan apartment when they want to get away from it all.
I guess my final answer is that I want the two of them to be fully realized, individual characters whose love is illustrated through mutual support rather than, like, being glued to each other's hips. The things that I want to see Billy doing are very far removed from the things that I want to see Teddy doing. Superhero characters tend to lose momentum when you marry them off, and superhero couples tend to fizzle when you keep them apart, but Billy and Teddy's unique strength is that they're never truly apart, and their relationship never seems to lose steam-- they've been a pair from the start, and... they're a little obsessed with each other.
The Billy story that I most want to see right now is a full Maximoff team-up. It could go in one of two directions: A) a quest to uncover Natalya's history and finally vanquish the Emerald Warlock, in which they're waylaid by Doom and other magic villains from their past, while teaming up with their magical friends around the world-- basically a sequel to Scarlet Witch; or, B) a showdown with Krakoa and a resolution of their relationship with Erik, which, best case scenario, partially reverses the Axis retcon and proves once and for all that the Maximoffs are mutants. If we got a longer series, we could actually do both plots-- they learn something about Natalya which leads them back to Erik, and the two arcs become a larger story.
The Teddy story that I most want to see is a Guardians-esque space romp with political elements featuring Teddy, Xavin and Noh-Varr as, like, a sexy-alien-boys version of the Gullwings from Final Fantasy X. Does that make sense? I don't have a great grasp on the political landscape of Marvel Space so it's a little hard for me to come up with details, but I know that the status quo has been totally upended, so there are going to be different factions and movements springing up, and likely no shortage of villains and space monsters rearing their heads when the dust of the war has fully settled. Teddy's a monarch now, but he's also been set up as this Arthurian hero-king, so I think there's still room for him to go on adventures and fight his own battles with his magic sword and, maybe, a crew of loyal space knights.
Having said aaaallll of that, I would absolutely die for a full-on fantasy adventure story with Billy and Teddy. I mean, Teddy's a king with a magic sword and his husband is a super-powerful witch. It's gotta happen. I'd actually be into them having a rematch with Mother, who is a pretty adaptable villain, in that her abilities and motives will differ depending on how she's been summoned. I'd also really like them to have a chance to go up against Sequoia directly, and on more even grounds. Quoi is such a great enemy for them because they represent the same generation of Avengers babies, and, actually, Quoi's origins are directly tied to Billy's-- their respective parents had a double wedding together. Sequoia and Teddy's arcs in Empyre paralleled and contrasted each other beautifully, but the two characters had no meaningful interactions. I want to see thems as arch rivals, and maybe, begrudgingly.... friends? Plus, I love that they're both alien princes who live in sci-fi stories, but whose aesthetics and powers are pure fantasy-- Quoi's a dryad wizard and Teddy is King Arthur, if King Arthur was a gay anthropomorphic dragon.
Anyways, that's my Wiccan+Hulkling pitch. The first arc is Billy and Teddy facing off against Sequoia in a magic forest that he's grown on his new planet, only to find out that they've been set up by Mother.
In the second arc, the three of them grudgingly team up against Mother while hashing out their shared backstories and giving Quoi, who's literally never had peers to relate to, a chance to fully come to grips with the way he was conditioned and manipulated by his father. Instead of conjuring dead parents, Mother seems to be able to summon dead children, which makes her particularly dangerous around the Cotati, Kree and Skrull, who've just emerged from a war and have countless recent dead.
In the third arc, Mother has freed R'kll and they've set their sights on Earth. Billy heads out with America and Tommy to ask Loki for advice on defeating her, while Teddy brings Sequoia before the Avengers as his charge in order to ensure that Quoi receives provisional immunity.
Loki is able to provide insight on how Mother might have been summoned and what the parameters might be for breaking the spell that's tethering her to Earth-616. It turns out that Mother is essentially holding Anelle's soul hostage and has been appearing to R'kll in her form. Mother's hold, at this point, has spread to the entire Alliance, and Teddy will have to defeat her or else she'll use it to destroy Earth and decimate his nation in the process.
Teddy recruits Wanda to help face Mother down. (side note, I'm desperate to see more of their relationship as in-laws.) Wanda agrees to work with Sequoia but insists on calling Mantis and making them talk.
The final showdown is the three boys, plus Wanda and Mantis, against Mother, R'kll, and an army of dead alien soldiers. Mantis and Wanda are able to pull Anelle's soul from Mother's grasp, but this doesn't banish her-- Mother's true anchor was R'kll, who'd been carrying Anelle's ghost in her heart ever since the destruction of Tarnax.
R'kll believes that she's always acted in the best interest of her nation, and she thought that bringing back Teddy's mother would finally make him see her way. Anelle and Teddy have a tearful reunion, but he admits that the only mother he's really mourned was the woman who raised him.
Wanda, Mantis, and Anelle, as a trio of mothers united with their lost sons, are able to reverse and seal Mother's power, which was based on lost children. They are not able to banish her, however, until R'kll steps forward and sacrifices herself, believing now that the best she can do for her nation is to rid the Alliance of the curse she brought upon it.
R'kll and Anelle begin to dissipate, but R'kll's sacrifice has called forth the spirit of Mrs. Altman, who is finally granted some closure and dignity in death by getting a chance to see how far Teddy's come and the peace that he's built in her memory.
Lots of crying! I made this sad. I'm sorry.

ALL MY CHILDREN
Tumblr media
Happy Birthday Beepsy!!! @sirbeepsalot
Thanks to @sirbeepsalot for creating this wonderful timeless masterpiece of the King and Queen of Cordonia for me, with their 9 beautiful children and 1 adopted zombie from East Croatia. I wanted the opportunity to introduce you to their family.
In the top left corner, you have 20 year old Princess Drakita, and heir to the throne. When she was born, Liam thought it was adorable how much she resembled her Uncle Drake, yet, Riley insisted she looked nothing like him. Drakita generally likes everyone, however, she and Olivia have always had a hate/hate relationship. Its amusing to hear Olivia tell the oldest Rhys child she has a “fugly” face and a familiar scowl that she wishes she could place.
Her bald headed brother, donning his Uncle Leo’s leather jacket, shirtless, is Liam Jr. He is nothing like his father, already at 19, his alcoholism has become a concern for the King and Queen, prefering top of the line whiskey. His foul mouth, penchant for Texas BBQ and grumpiness has the King questioning daily whether his brooding oldest son even wants to be part of the nobility.
14 year old Draken was always a delightful child but has become quite annoying lately for his obsession with Billy Ray Cyrus. He is the one standing closest to his father in the photo. He’s been growing a mullet for two years. When Liam tried to tell his son how ridiculous he was starting to look, it just broke his achy breaky heart, as he yelled back at his father, “I just don’t think you understand”. He is correct, Liam has never understood this child. Its quite possible their relationship as father and son are irrepairable.
16 year old Princess, Drakessa is the buxom beauty of their 10 children. When she shaves her beard and mustache, its hard to keep the boys off of her. Fearful of his sexually charged daughters recent wild behavior, he has banned her use of razors and dipilatory creams. Little does he know, Maxwell and Hana’s son Drakonio finds her hairy face irresistable…they could almost pass for half-siblings.
To Drakessa’s right is 15 year old, Drakula. Drake found the zombie baby in Croatia while he and Queen Riley were visiting the war torn country for six months on "official" business. The funny thing is, neither could name one city in Croatia when Liam asked where they were staying. When Drake insisted Liam care for the child as his own, he hesitated at first, but, thought she would be good to keep around for security purposes. She lives in a cage in the dungeon after eating their corgi, a peacock, Bastien’s middle finger and two of the housekeepers. She loves her daddy though and he sort of likes her too.
In front of Drakula is 12 year old twins, Draketta and Drakey Joe. Liam was surprised by their miraculous conception. He had been in France for 6 weeks when they were conceived, but, Riley insisted the toilet seat did the job. Thankfully, Drake was able to confirm her story and even showed him how easy it is to get sperm on the toilet seat, in their bed, the sofa and back seat of the limo, just in case there should be anymore future surprise pregnancies. Maxwell was surprised, as well, he started hovering over the toilet to prevent Hana getting pregnant for the fourth time after she too mysteriously kept getting pregnant while he was gone.
Drakey Joe wears a top hat due to the penis shaped indention he has on the top of his head. Liam swears he always took it easy on Riley when she was pregnant, but, when Riley later fell pregnant with their 9 year old triplets, Drake showed him how it easy it is to put a dent on a babys head inutero. The one wearing a bonnet, Drakolia, is living proof it can be done.
Along with Drakolia, the other two triplets Drakeshit and Drakepot. Two of the girls recently caught lice after a visit from their Uncle Drake, who made sure to shave the girls hair in order to prevent spreading. It was too bad that Liam Jr was so wasted after drinking with his dad...err..Uncle Drake one night, that he put the buggers in his own hair. He too had to shave. Drakeolia and Drakepot serve as look outs for when Uncle Drake and Mommy Riley have important palace related discussions in her office.
Poor Drakeshit is the one wearing sunglasses. Also known by the nickname Olivia gave her, Shitty. Shitty snuck down into Olivia's armory last year to play with the swords, with her aunts permission and ended up poking out her eyes. Not from the daggers or swords, but, the polo stick that is for some odd reason being stored there. Shitty has learned her lesson though, never try to ram a polo stick into your eye to see what it would do.
Folks, these are the heirs to the Cordonian throne. Liam couldn't be prouder of the oddly wonderful children he has produced with the Queen. With this many children, the Rhys bloodline will remain in the monarchy for generations to come.
And Drake Walker couldn't be happier for them

WandaVision Episode 7 Review: Breaking the Fourth Wall
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This review contains WandaVision spoilers.
WandaVision Episode 7
There are only a couple of episodes left of WandaVision and in case you were worried you’d have to wait and see who has been behind the nefarious nature of Westview then worry no longer. As we hit the end of WandaVision episode 7, “Breaking the Fourth Wall,” we learn who’s been pulling the strings.
And while you might be expecting one of the two big bads we discover today, the last one might take you by surprise. But before all that we join Wanda in a Modern Family inspired beginning where Elizabeth Olsen perfectly deadpans her way through a cold open. She recalls the events that ended the previous episode as if they were nothing more than a drunken night. You know, rather than transforming an entire SWORD base and trapping its inhabitants.
Olsen once again shows why she was the perfect lead for Marvel Studios’ first TV show and why it’s a crime that Scarlet Witch hasn’t been given a proper story like this before. She whips between heartbreaking and hilarious with the quiver of her lip. As she does a lot of direct-to-camera work this week, we get plenty of pure Olsen emoting. While Wanda “punishes” herself with a day to herself, the twins are worried about their mom, and Billy (Julian Hilliard) is fretting about his burgeoning powers. Luckily for Wanda, Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) arrives and offers to take the children away so she can relax. Without Vision there to stop her–which he did on previous occasions–Wanda allows her neighbor to take the twins back to her home.
While Wanda makes quite a point of saying this will be a day dedicated to her, this is really an episode about two of Westview’s other women. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) have both become fan favorites since the show started and this week we get to see them come into their own in very different ways.
For Monica, it’s the realization that Director Hayward allowed Wanda to kidnap Vision in order to reactivate and control his sentient synthezoid weapon. While we already knew that he was as Darcy put it “a dick,” this is confirmation that he’s also a corrupt bad guy with plans to destroy Westview and its inhabitants. Armed with a space rover and high-tech gear, Monica embarks on a mission to break back into the Hex. But when the vehicle is rejected, she decides to go in alone… changing her fate forever.
If you’re a comic book fan you likely won’t be shocked that Monica gets powers from going through the Hex. We already knew that she’d been changed by her previous visit. After showcasing her personal strength and will by pushing through the barrier, she’s gifted a new set of skills. From what we see in the episode it looks like Monica can see the spectrum of light, which makes sense as after she became the first woman to hold the mantle of Captain Marvel, Monica took on the mantle of Spectrum. While we don’t see many of her powers here, we do see her face off against Wanda and survive. So we know she’s packing some serious heat, and that’s a good thing as when we leave Westview this week we’re dealing with a whole new kind of threat.
We also need to deal with the conundrum of Vision (Paul Bettany). We last saw him trying to escape Westview, which led to Wanda expanding the Hex and creating even more chaos, turning the SWORD base into a circus. We find Vision at the edge of that family fun palace, desperate for help. Lucky for him, Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) is right there. Of course, she’s now a circus escape artist and has no idea who Vision is. But with the help of the Mind Stone, Vision changes all of that and soon has an ally to help him find himself again.
Dennings and Bettany are great here, the former bringing a blunt humor to the horrific recollections of what Vision, Wanda, and the Avengers went through. Darcy is a truly great character and we want more of her in every part of the MCU, but for now we’ll luxuriate in her playing getaway driver for a synthezoid in a funnel cake truck. Bettany is a great straight man, selling the utter bafflement that Vision clearly feels as he picks apart his past.
To be honest, though, he should be more worried about his present than his past, as Wanda has an unexpected guest. While she tries to relax, Monica arrives desperate to tell her the truth about what Hayward has been doing and his maniacal plans for Vision. But just when it seems like Monica has broken through to Wanda–and shown off her superhero pose–they’re interrupted by Agnes. Parris is undoubtedly the hero of this series, not just as Monica who is clearly the central heroic figure but also for her performance filled with nuance, heart, and complexity. Monica has always been on Wanda’s side, even after being trapped by her mind magic, and she has put herself at risk again and again to try and help. But this time Wanda’s meddling neighbor pulls Wanda away from her potential ally, and the pair head to Agnes’ home.
We’ve never seen Agnes’ home before this episode and it’s appropriately creepy. We briefly saw the boys enjoying the “quiet” that the home offered but yet when Wanda arrives the kids are nowhere to be seen. And in a totally not creepy suggestion, Agnes tells Wanda that they might be in the basement… you know, that totally normal place where kids like to play.
Alas, as Wanda soon discovers, Billy and Tommy are not in the basement at all. In fact, it’s more like a strange magical lair than a basement. Stone pillars surround the room and a strange book glows on the side. If you’ve been thinking that Agnes might actually be the Marvel Universe’s very own witch Agatha Harkness then give yourself a pat on the back because once Wanda is trapped, Agatha reveals her true name and face as well as giving herself her very own musical introduction.
Hahn has been one of the best things about WandaVision all season. Her comic timing, dedication to the weird, and nuanced performance have made her one of the show’s biggest enigmas and talking points. And it looks like for once us theory-heads were right. Agnes was really Agatha and she’s been behind everything bad in Westview. While Hayward might have allowed the Hex to happen so he could restore Vision, Agatha has been the one manipulating Wanda. We get to learn how in a wickedly funny musical interlude that introduces a new show called “It Was Agatha All Along.”
Hahn delights in the reveal, playing the villain with aplomb as we see how she was affecting each and every moment of the show so far. It’s a massive twist which even the biggest Agatha-theorists might not have seen coming as the witch is often an ally rather than an antagonist, though she has been both in the comics.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
And if you’ve been wondering where Pietro is, then make sure to stick around after the animated credits for the show’s first mid-credits sequence, which sees a fateful meeting at Agatha’s place. While we say it each week, this honestly might have been the best episode of the season so far, and we cannot wait to see if WandaVision can continue at this quality and really stick the landing.

The Gladiators of New Earth - Prologue
Summary: When the Crash occurred, Earth became a wasteland of what it once was, the environment changing; people changed to - they became worse. Across the Galaxy, they’re hearing of the Gladiator, Logan Hunter, from earth - her battles a sight to behold. When the galaxy decides to fight, Logan discovers that her dying planet may be used for someone else’s gain.

A/N: So, this story came from a bunch of different inspirational sources, but I desperately wanted to finish the prologue for you all! This is a rough first draft! I hope it is as interesting as I think it is. It should be an enjoyable ride from what I've experienced with it. Anyway, enjoy little ones! xx
The clock tower loomed, the hollow clunks of its gears echoing over the decayed York City New. Jacob and his young brother, Layton, climbed over the side of the mountain, the old floors of the apartment buildings were swaying; never properly built into the mountain’s face. One wrong step, and you’re a goner. That’s what their father said. But they had to get to the stadium. They couldn’t miss the battle.
Since the Crash took over everything, the land became untouchable and life drifted from the physics humans once knew, existence became something to relearn. Until everything stabilised into a flux of different environment and rules, people lived in the side of mountains to stop the crumbling ground from taking them, buried homes under roads as to not float away by the misinformed gravity, live in floating houses with strings tying them to remnants of scaffolding. Animals turned over in their environment; birds needed to swim in the depths of the ocean, dogs had to float and fly, sea creatures either lived in the deserts - whales bounding upwards like they once did, but now in waves of sand - or stayed in their waters as the salt bonded to hills, circling the grassy knolls like they owned their own gravity.
And the human race? Well, they had to learn to be human all over again, didn’t they? Jacob’s mother reminded them of that as they grew.
Creatures from hundreds of other planets all across the galaxy came to earth - the-little-planet-that-could - marvelling at its people and slowly tearing apart the planet’s structure and physics with every passing visit. Eventually, the sea rose into the sky before crashing back down after one ship departed. It was the first spark of the global crisis - no ships in, no ships out. The Crash. Earth was no longer the-planet-that-could, but rather, the planet of low dwellers, living on a rock in a solar system that should have died out already.
The stadium was close to the clocktower the family maintained, the only way people of York City New could tell when to race up the rope ladders. It was hung there since the First Balance came, gravity finally coming to a stop and fixing its point throughout the global - some places gravity was high, some where it was low; the remnants of New York City leveling into low and high. The land brought up mountains and caused buildings to fall to nature's wake, crushing down the structures and letting nature take over - the gravity in spurts of unbelievable pressure and none at all. The Stadium was in the low gravity zone, the rope ladder hammered down to the strongest ground there was and nets placed just below; even though society and life had gone to hell, safety was still wanted to some degree.
The Huntress was all people wanted, that’s why everyone came out. When human decided to learn to be human again, they unfortunately stuck with the Greeks and their messed up ways of entertainment. Gladiators. Specifically, one. Logan Hunter. She was small when they started, no older than nineteen. You could see it on her face that she had been tainted by the Crash in some way - but no one ever knew what. All anyone knew was her name was Logan Hunter and she was downright dangerous. She trained in swords, archery, close combat - everything in order to be better. By twenty-four, she was the champion of the Gladiator stadium and everyone around the world knew her name. Now, at twenty-five, she was going to be broadcast across the galaxy; other planets finally hearing word of her feats and they wanted a glimpse of her. Earth was no different. Everyone wanted to see the woman that finally brought balance to an unstable planet.
Jacob and Layton had never missed a game, not since they started. Logan was always the underdog, smaller than most of the men fighting, but she was quicker than they were. When she started fighting, everyone saw, watched her with every passing hour just to see this girl move. She was terrifying and she knew it. Even if the world was fighting to stay alive, Logan Hunter was plastered across the global, her face the rage of a dying world striving to survive.
The drumming from the stadium above was the marching orders, Layton climbing the rope ladder ahead of Jacob. Layton was racing up the ladder, the whole thing shaking as he tried to get up faster. “Don’t fall or we might lose each other,” Jacob warned. Layton laughed. His ten year old spirit was far more excited than he probably should have been - Jacob knew that the excitement was for the poor young boy’s crush. But it was pretty hard for someone not to be in love with Logan just a little bit.
The stadium, constructed in 2430 out of old buildings, lost its gravity in 2432 in the fifth crash. With the four preceding crashes, many building had contingency plans to keep things levelled and secure - with the rise of the gladiator battles in everyone’s minds, the stadium got its contingency. Reaching the top, the stadium that looked more like the colosseum that once stood strong, the two brothers watched the people pour in. It was filling in number that were hard to fathom, but not uncommon. Jacob pushed Layton to the hidden spot in between two stands, a better view and fully able to see the new TVs hanging by the engines that were far too old for themselves.
When the stadium was nearly full, the brightly coloured and over-accessorised Billy Ames strutted out into the stadium’s floor, cameras on him and the crew around him; they were preparing for the show of a lifetime. Billy Ames was the first man to ever suggest the games, acting out his part as ringmaster. Jacob and Layton had seen him once in the market, a chubby man with missing teeth and filled in with golden replacements. Now, he was donned in a red coat filled with bottle cap pins to make him shinier than ever and a top hat that was made from several other black hats of different shades. He was being flashy, he wanted to stand out, and that really wasn’t a problem for him.
When he was all wired up, he raised his hands up, the entire crowd rising as well and cheers started to boom all over. The crew dispersed, leaving Billy and a single cameraman along for the journey. The screens lit up. Jacob watched as Layton hitched himself up to view things more clearly. Layton was beaming with delight, the idea of the gladiator coming into view was too much to deal with.
“This is the first official broadcast from Earth’s Gladiator battles,” Billy exclaimed with that same nasally voice as always. No matter how irritating it was, the entire stadium ignited whenever they heard it. “You’ve all heard of us. What kind of bloodshed has occurred here. But now? You get to experience all the blood and guts yourself!” he roared.
There was a hush that befell the ground, waiting “Now, now everyone! You’ve heard of her before, even snuck an illegal look at the battles. We see your satellites trying to pick us up,” he winked at the camera, laughing and the crowd joining too. “But here and now, you will witness her all for the very first time in high definition,” he said with a big grin, gesturing wildly before the gates behind him started to rise. Billy smirked, bringing the camera into his face “Coming to you all across the galaxy, from the planet without equal. Give it up for….The Huntress!” he proclaimed, the gates hitting their stopping mark and the slow rumble of stamping feet echoed afterwards.
The screens switched, a dark corridor with the small glow of a young woman walked towards the light. Her blade clanging against her metal shield, sparking when she hit it hard enough. She started slow, the camera keeping its gaze strictly on her. Then, she started to run, the beating of feet against the stadium’s floor her charging song. When the light of the day hit her, the sight of her in her gladiator armour sent the entire stadium into cheers.
The tan leather was only slightly darker than her skin, keeping everything covered but revealing enough to tantalise a crowd. Her pleated skirt swayed as the breeze kicked in. She stayed steady, her boots with metal plating to keep her legs safe, kept her grounded. Upon her head was a golden helmet with the red brush swaying as the breeze came back in, decorating her as the fiercest warrior.
Piercing the ground with her sword and placing her shield at her side, she removed her helmet, tossing it across the dusty stadium ground. The cameras were on her every move, highlighting her beauty and her scars, training the galaxy to marvel at her wonder and ferocity. Her hazel eyes and short dark brown hair flowing as the winds came in and finally to a stop; she was irresistible to the eye, no one could stop looking at her.
Logan Hunter, the Huntress of Earth, young with tanned and weathered skin; she was who they were here for. The entire galaxy was tuning in to see her kill or die.

012619-LORD HELP ME TO LOVE YOUR WAYS
Free from Frostbite
Bible in a Year:
Exodus 14–15; Matthew 17
Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
Psalm 119:35
Today's Scripture & Insight:
Psalm 119:33-48
On a winter day, my children begged to go sledding. The temperature hovered near zero degrees Fahrenheit. Snowflakes raced by our windows. I thought it over and said yes, but asked them to bundle up, stay together, and come inside after fifteen minutes.
Out of love, I created those rules so my children could play freely without suffering frostbite. I think the author of Psalm 119 recognized the same good intent in God as he penned two consecutive verses that might seem contradictory: “I will always obey your law” and “I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts” (vv. 44–45). How is it that the psalmist associated freedom with a spiritually law-abiding life?
Following God’s wise instruction allows us to escape the consequences that come from choices we later wish we could undo. Without the weight of guilt or pain we are freer to enjoy our lives. God doesn’t want to control us with dos and don’ts; rather, His guidelines show that He loves us.
While my kids were sledding, I watched them blast down the hill. I smiled at the sound of their laughter and the sight of their pink cheeks. They were free within the boundaries I’d given them. This compelling paradox is present in our relationship with God—it leads us to say with the psalmist, “Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight” (v. 35).
By Jennifer Benson Schuldt
Today's Reflection
Dear God, give me a love for Your ways like the psalmist had. I want to worship You with the choices I make every day.

Learn to Pray
It is of the utmost importance My Children understand how to pray in this time. My Children, prayer will be your greatest weapon in this time. It will be how you obtain what you need and how you are protected from your enemies and those who seek to kill you. Prayer will bring you whatever you need, but you must learn to pray in faith.
Matthew 6:9-13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

And lead us not into temptation is wrong. It should say and lead us not into testing or trail.God cannot temp so way pray it . Check the greek and hebrew. Blessing
Tatyanna SmithJANUARY 26, 2019REPLY
No this is right. This is the King James bible. How can you say that is wrong?
Lords prayer. . . And lead us not into temptation is wrong!!
So why do we say it?
Later in James 1:13 it says “let no one say when they are tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.” Temptations do not come from God. Trials – James 1:2|
Dr. Dan Hayden •
Do you know the difference between a temptation and a trial? Both can be times of real testing but one comes from God, and one doesn’t.
James 1:2 says “Consider it all joy my brethren, when you encounter various trials…”Let’s look at that word “trials” today. It’s one of the very important words to understand in this verse.
This Greek word can actually mean two different things. First, it can mean “a test or a trial.” Second, it can mean “a temptation, or enticement to sin.”
Now the temptation part we all understand. The enticement to sin is all around us. But the thing you need to realize, however is that this aspect never comes from God. Later in James 1:13 it says “let no one say when they are tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.” Temptations do not come from God.
Trials, on the other hand, are different. Trials are circumstances of life that are difficult and which cause us to have to depend upon God. God brings trials into our lives not to hurt us but to help us. Proverbs 17:3 says “The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; but the Lord tests hearts.” That’s what He’s doing – He’s testing your heart. Will you trust Him? Will you realize that He is helping you to become more mature? So – “consider it all joy when you encounter various trials.”
And remember God doesn’t tempt you – He tests you.
It should say and lead us not into trail or testing. God bless
About twenty years ago I had a big Problem: my husband was spiritual healer before he came to Jesus. Satan visited him and warned him, that he will destroy him. We experienced the hell, so one night I asked the Lord, why we have so big Problems? the Lord took me in the spiritual world, I saw Jesus and was happy, but then Satan was before me! Jesus didn’t do anything against him. Jesus gave me His golden Sword and said: hit his heart! i took the Sword and hit the devil, then I was again in my bed. From this night I understood spiritual Warfare. Most of the christians don’t pray and others don’t know how to pray effectively. As long you don’t use the Sword, you don’t experienced really many and important breaktrough. Jesus gave us weapons to use them, to bind the spirits above lives but also above countries and set the people free. The Lord led me in the capital cities of 78 countries to fight for the souls. I experience a lot. In 2014 after I came back from Bosnia, after I saw the two islamic countries that Billy Clinton created in Europe, I was so “angry”, that I begun to pray almost daily around the globe, for every continent, for many countries, people, etc. The politicians say, they defeated Terrorist groups. It’s a lie. Who created them and who gave them weapons? Prayer weakened the Terrorist groups, nothing else. Bind the spirits, who give them power, fight, break the curses of others above your Family, country, etc., even the curse of false prayers. The muslims pray for us, false prophets put hands above people, etc…all this bring curse and musst be broken. In my Website http://www.jeremia.ch there is a letter about spiritual Warfare. Everything I tell and write, I experienced myself. .Faith is active, not passive. I wish you the courage to stand up, fight against the powers of Darkness and bring the gospel to the people.

Spiritual warfare put into practice 11.03.07
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
Dear sisters and brothers, the Word of God speaks very clearly that we are in a battle not against people but against powers and that we’ve got an armour to fight. Jesus has given us the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm us. Luk. 10:19 And yet most Christians do not fight nor do they know how to do it. In the past years I made the experience that when I wrote to people step by step how to fight marriage problems, disunity and difficulties with their children etc that it always brought results. Unfortunately many give up quickly and others never start. We are the generation of instant coffee and if something does not happen immediately we give up. But the life of faith has much to do with perseverance and overcoming. In 1990 my husband and I got married. My husband had been a ghost healer. When he came to Jesus Satan warned him several times that he would defeat him. We experienced how hell came against us and tried to destroy us, our marriage, our family and lives. I speak not of some imagination but of reality. Until that time I was about an average Christian. I served the Lord thinking to be a Christian means sunshine all the time. Then the attacks of the devil came and I couldn’t understand the world anymore. I wasn’t taught at all in this area! One night I went to bed with the question: “Lord, what happened?” At four in the morning I went to toilet. When I came back and put my foot on the bed a hand pulled me. My body lay in bed but my spirit was gone. I saw Jesus and rejoiced. But then someone else stood before me and my heart felt very heavy so that I hardly could breathe. I took all the courage I got to look who was standing in front of me and saw the ugly face of Satan. Jesus didn’t say: “Satan, leave her alone!” no, He gave me a golden sword and said to me: “Pierce his heart!” So I took the sword and pierced Satan’s heart with it. I returned and woke up. It was then when the adventure started.
Firstly we do have an enemy, the prince of this world, Satan. We are on his territory and want to dispute his right on it. We want to be light in the darkness so that others get saved too. Secondly we have got the order to fight against him and therefore we’ve got an armour (Eph. 6:10-20). Many Christians try hard to learn using all the weapons. Who is the armour? Jesus Himself! Therefore we should remain in Him. Many say: “O, today I forgot to wear my armour!” I want to ask you: Have you put it off? I always wear my armour. Especially at night you need it even more. Why? The spiritual world is very active at night. Why? Man finally rests. Why are there so many Christians swimming in problems? They don’t want to fight. There is an unbelievable apathy. Materialism made us extremely passive. If you’ve got marriage problems you go to the marriage counsellor before you go to the lawyer. Have you got psychic problems you go to the army of counsellors? They shall pray, believe and fight for you as you pay them. Do you know that the darkness increases with God’s allowance for the Christians finally to wake up? God will allow as much pressure that Mr. and Mrs. Christian either get up and fight or fall away. If we only live for ourselves and without caring what happens around us, God will send a Goliath and we have to decide whether we fight like David or hide like Saul and his army. When persecution of Christians will come you can’t run to the counsellor. When sitting in prison you can’t ask anyone to pray for you. When you stand before the judge you will be alone. And just at this point God wants to get us for He is a jealous God. He is fed up with us always asking people for help. He says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord … (Jer. 17:5+7) Sometimes people call me asking whether they shall do this or that, whether to go here or there, whether to marry him or another … Brother and sister, you have got the Holy Spirit. You have a living God Who only waits for you to come to Him instead of always running to people.
I must say after many years of experience that there are only a few who have got a deep relationship with Jesus. Many just come along. Why? They are lazy. Laziness is a huge problem in society and in the Body of Christ. Some years ago I had an experience at night: I saw with my spiritual eyes a small woman beside my bed. She looked like an Italian and kept on talking … bla, bla, bla … It wasn’t important what she said and I realized that it was a demon. So I commanded him in the name of Jesus to leave. Nothing happened and I knew I needed to know his name. In that moment the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said: “Laziness, in the name of Jesus, go away!” When I said his name the woman attacked me like a lioness. There was a fight and still in the morning I could feel the claws on shoulder and hip. Why didn’t she leave on my command? I believe the Lord wanted me to know how real these powers are.
Laziness is a spirit, a power we must resist. Far too many live according their pleasure and mood: Today it’s raining, I can’t go out. Tomorrow it’s too hot … How nice sitting together for food and a drink but for prayer and evangelism there first must be a mighty voice from heaven … People of God, either you will get up, fight and overcome or you will die. It’s all about life and death!
In the letter “Our Children” we saw that Satan wants to destroy our children. Not only children but whole nations slip into the abyss. And what are we doing? Sometimes we collect signatures for or against something and that can be good. But the battle must be led spiritually. We do not fight against flesh and blood … (Eph. 6:10-20) How then shall we fight? It’s very simple and even a child can do it. Maybe we should teach them as school turns more and ungodly. As I mentioned Jesus gave me His sword to fight. What is the sword? The Word of God! When I pray for people or nations I mainly use two Bible verses which for me are prayer keys. When people speak about prayer they think of asking God to do this and that. When I speak of prayer I mean exercising authority, commanding. But how? Let’s look at Math. 16:19 or 18:18 where Jesus says: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” In an other translation it even says: What you allow on earth will be allowed in heaven and what you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven! Powerful. What do we bind? Satan and His evil spirits who attack us or others. What do we loose? The people who are tormented by demons. Isn’t that simple? And yet it’s almost never done. Some years ago I was with OM at the port in Piraeus. Suddenly a dispute broke out between a taxi driver and a police woman. It looked like it would turn into a fight. I just happened to be there and so I said: “In the name of Jesus I bind the spirit of dispute. In the name of Jesus Satan go away.” And I spoke the peace of God into that situation. What happened? Immediately the dispute ended. A brother gave the police woman a tract and everything was fine. When I was in Vienna suddenly a woman and a man started quarrelling in the street. They got louder and louder. What did I do? I said: “Satan, in the name of Jesus shut your mouth and be quiet. I bind you and demand the peace of God!” What happened? The man suddenly left and there was silence.
What I told you now I experienced time and time again in my family. Do you know of situations when the family sits together in harmony and suddenly out of nowhere the fat’s in the fire because of a triviality? What do you do in such a moment? Do you fight carnally, walk away or go into another room and say: “Satan I resist you in the name of Jesus, get away! The blood of Jesus is here. The name of Jesus is here. You have nothing to do here, go away. I bind you and speak the peace of God upon us.” This prayer you can do often whether for believers or nonbelievers, for situations or persons.
Let’s go to 2.Cor. 10:4+5: The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. That’s the key number two. Where do dispute and even war start? In the mind. Satan brings up the husband against his wife, the children against their parents, people against people. He sends arrows into the mind like: “My husband doesn’t like me … My neighbour is so strange today … nobody loves me … my life isn’t worthwhile … What do we do? As soon as we realize a thought isn’t from the Lord we take it captive. How do we do that? When I pray for myself or others after I used the first key I go on to the second. I put my hand on my forehead and say: “In the name of Jesus I destroy all strongholds in my mind, all wrong thinking, all negative thinking I tear down and submit it under the obedience of Christ. I speak light into my mind. There shall be light and the darkness must flee. The peace of God shall be upon me and in me! The same I do for each person I pray for. Again and again I have made the experience how people changed and often didn’t know anymore why they fought previously. God answers when you take His Word and chase away Satan. But if you just always say: “Lord, do this and that … the Lord thinks: “I did it already for you 2000 years ago, what else do you want? Walk in the victory and walk victoriously in what is done already”.
God’s people is so tormented, so bound. It’s painful to see us like that. There are people fighting in the front line for a country and get attacked very much like Deyse Schuemperli who several times seemed to die. My husband too experiences things I don’t even know about. Yet always the Lord brakes through. Most Christians are bound because they don’t even fight and are passive.
The Devil can come and go as he wants and no one takes action. A sister once said to me: “I hate Satan.” I told her not to say that otherwise she wouldn’t have God’s protection. Why? How did Jesus fight? With the Word “It’s written”! Never emotionally. One night I had a dream. I stood before a mirror and said: “Satan, I hate you!” He once more had attacked us. In that moment he griped me from behind and I felt his claws. I tried to get free but it was impossible. I knew there was something wrong. When I woke up I asked the Lord why I didn’t have any authority and nothing helped. I opened my Bible and there was the answer: “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?” Num. 23:8. Even Satan is a creature of God. I can not fight him emotionally but only with the sword of God. Otherwise God can’t do anything.
Sisters and brothers, I could go on writing. But when you start practicing Matt.18:18 and 2.Cor. 10:4+5 you will get experiences of your own, see victories, changes in your families … In a couple of hours I will be abroad fighting for another country in this way … Someone wrote to me that she did that already years ago and nothing happened. Then you must examine your heart. Are you maybe bitter toward your husband? Often we women want to see our husbands changed. But the Lord first wants to change us. I may write more in another letter about this subject.
May the Lord take us out of our passivity, our excuses and our slumber! The Lion of Judah is roaring! Can you hear Him? Today it might be for your salvation, tomorrow it could be for judgment. God’s Peace be upon you!
Catherine Hafner, a servant of Jesus Christ!
3.
Hi there,
Do you say "I'm alright" or "I'm happy with my life"?
Even though you may be okay getting by day to day, how many people can truly say that they are happy with their life?
Researchers find that 69 per cent of people feel trapped and over 40 per cent are unhappy with their lives. This means that only 3 in 10 people feel happy with their lives.
Why are most people not happy with where they are?
There are many reasons for why we end up feeling unfulfilled in life. Sometimes, it’s because we’re too afraid of taking risks or making mistakes. We play it so safe that we do end up living ‘risk free’ lives, but they also end up being uneventful or unsatisfying, which leads to us feeling stagnant or stuck.
Maybe you're unhappy because even though you may be hustling at work everyday, getting on with your roles and responsibilities, you still feel as if something's missing in life and you can't seem to turn things around.
Or maybe you've been relying solely on yourself to solve every problem you've encountered. But you feel a lonely lack of support.
Or you've been unconsciously comparing yourself to others -- how they look, what they do and what they have. The more you compare, the more you feel inadequate, and the more you doubt your own worth.
A lot of stress and worry we have comes from the fear that we can't handle a current or potential future problem. This is what gnaws away at people everyday and keeps them up at night.
Imagine what would happen if you could turn your challenges around and live a happy and satisfying life?
Well, you DO have that capability.
What you feel like or don’t feel like doing, boils down to one thing -- motivation. It is the force, or lack of, that keeps driving you forward to overcome obstacles to do what you desire.
Without motivation, you’ll just remain where you are: unhappy yet not doing anything to progress ahead.
Motivation is a huge force in your life; and it needs to be harnessed in order to excel and actually enjoy every minute of what you’re doing, which will make your roles and responsibilities less of a chore.
So, how to create that sustainable motivation for yourself? Let me break it down into 3 parts:
Core – Purpose
Support – Enablers
Surface – Acknowledgement
Your motivational core is your Purpose, and is sustained by two things: Having Meaning, and Forward Movement. When you find meaning in what you do, you get the energy to move forward.

Season 6, Mission 6: Bridge Over Troubled Water
A Faustian bargain
[crows caw, wolf howls]
AMELIA SPENS: Good Lord. Twisted wreckage of buildings, burned out office blocks, prisoner in chains. You Abel people do know how to have a good time.
ANDY: Do we have to have the chains? I'm not exactly going to try and escape through this hellhole, am I?
SAM YAO: Five, this is Andy. Andy, Runner Five. Uh, maybe, yeah. Five, could you take off Andy's chains? I think someone was a bit overzealous there.
[chains jingle]
JODY MARSH: Andy's a member of – where is it?
ANDY: Rotunda Settlement. We've recently allied with the Ministry, but like a silly billy, I managed to be buying spices in Castille, which is still officially allied with Abel, so I'm a theoretical prisoner and have to be traded. Anyway, you'll get one of your people back in return, so that all works out nicely.
AMELIA SPENS: Really? I thought I'd brokered this deal in exchange for supplies. Who's Abel getting back?
JODY MARSH: New Canton, actually. Bernard. He's been held by some of Sigrid's allies for a while.
AMELIA SPENS: Bernard? Really? Interesting.
JODY MARSH: Is it?
AMELIA SPENS: Yes, it is, actually. Come on, Five. Run with me. Let's get Andy here home.
ANDY: This is a lovely day, actually, isn't it? Once you get your chains off and you get past the cawing crows and so on. Beautiful blue sky, light stratocumulus. Nice.
SAM YAO: Andy, can I ask you something?
ANDY: Anything you like, chum.
SAM YAO: Why don't you want to, well, you know, stay with us at Abel? I mean, you seem like a decent bloke. You're not one of those Wakened Land loyalists, are you?
ANDY: Oh what, that, "The land will swallow its own, we'll cut you down like a flaming sword through butter," stuff? Any sword'll slice through butter. A flaming one would just melt it into a puddle. Silly!
SAM YAO: So you don't want to ally with Sigrid?
ANDY: Oh, no, I do. I mean, look. I can see that Abel and the Ministry are at each other's throats for some reason. You say they did things. They say you did things. I don't see how any normal person could tell who's right and who's wrong. So I just go by results.
Have you seen what life is like in Ministry allied colonies? She's getting people olive oil. She's getting them peanut butter.  And there's a traveling orchestra! And that's all to say nothing of the fact that she's giving people a vaccine against the zombie plague. Temporary, sure, but the permanent one will come. That's what finally convinced Rotunda to ally with the Ministry.
JODY MARSH: Do you know where she got that from, Andy? Do you know where that vaccine comes from?
ANDY: I know where you say it comes from.
JODY MARSH: She's turned babies into human factories!
ANDY: It's fake news! I mean, doesn't it sound fake to you? "Turned babies into human factories"? It's just over the top, the kind of thing people always say about their enemies.
JODY MARSH: But it's true!
ANDY: Well, you would say that.
AMELIA SPENS: You know, Andy, I begin to warm to you. You're the first reasonable person I've spoken to in months. Oh. Team, look at that! Zombies crawling out of the wreckage of that deserted petrol station!
SAM YAO: I don't see anything.
AMELIA SPENS: Well, I do! Come on. Let's run to higher ground. Perhaps over to the north, that way.
SAM YAO: Amelia, are you waving your hands to signal to someone?
AMELIA SPENS: I don't know what you mean.
[drone whirs]
JODY MARSH: Oh, look. What a massive surprise, Amelia. There's a drone here for you. With a little note on it, looks like!
AMELIA SPENS: Yes, well, some of us have bigger pictures to think of.
JODY MARSH: Why are you even here, Amelia? You brokered the deal, fine. But you did say you'd leave us at the outskirts of town.
AMELIA SPENS: Perhaps I just can't stay away from you, Jody.
JODY MARSH: I'm – I'm rising above it, Amelia! Calming breaths... rising above. We're going to swap Andy here for Bernard, and there's nothing you can do to stop that happening.
AMELIA SPENS: Are you? Why are you letting him escape, then?
JODY MARSH: What are you even on about? He's right – oh, bugger. Sam, where's Andy gone?
SAM YAO: He's – oh, crap! Yeah, he's run off. He's heading towards the bridge where we're due to make the trade.
ANDY: Sorry, gang, but I think I'll make a much better ally for the Ministry if they don't have to swap me for anyone.
SAM YAO: Five, we're not going to get Bernard back if Andy gets to that bridge without us. You need to get after him. Go!
JODY MARSH: I'm heading in from the east, Five. You keep heading west. Pincer movement. Sam, where's Amelia? Wait, no. Don't tell me. Trying to betray us again, right?
SAM YAO: She's, uh... yeah, got her! She's rendezvousing with... a runner.
JODY MARSH: Amelia, if you're betraying us to the Ministry, I will shoot you.
AMELIA SPENS: Oh, don't worry. It's just a messenger.
MESSENGER: The Psychoanalysts Enclave accept your offer, Miss Spens.
SAM YAO: Yeah, Five, no time to worry about Amelia. There are zombies behind you. Just shamblers, but speed up.
[zombies moan]
JODY MARSH: Wow, those zoms just won't give up, will they, Five? How are we doing, Sam?
SAM YAO: Uh, well, good news: Andy's also had to change his route to avoid the zombies. Bad news: Sigrid's people are at the bridge now, with Bernard. I'm going to guess they won't wait forever.
AMELIA SPENS: I'm already at the bridge. I thought you were learning to be efficient, Jody.
JODY MARSH: I'm rising above it, Amelia. Rising above it. Okay, Five, I know we don't usually do this for shamblers, but we're running out of time. [gunshots] Got one of them!
AMELIA SPENS: Jody, never say I don't do anything for you. Wakened Land loyalists, delightful to see you, as ever. I'm the advanced guard for the prisoner exchange, and I did wonder, while we're here, if you have any Wakened Land literature I might take away with me.
I'm very interested in the cleansing and in this idea that the land itself will claim its own enemies. Got anything on that? ... Yes, we've got time for you to go back to your transport, certainly.
SAM YAO: Amelia, did you just buy us some time?
AMELIA SPENS: Only as a side effect. [phone rings] Sorry, I've got to take this, Sam. Hello. This is she. No, no, Scorpion Fang, they are the people who killed your brother. Yes, I quite understand. Yes, of course. You'll have to relinquish command.
[gunshot, zombie growls]
JODY MARSH: I was sure I got that zombie with a headshot, but I must have missed. Run!
[noisemaker rings]
JODY MARSH: All right. That noisemaker we placed has distracted the zoms for now. Andy, come down from there.
ANDY: Yes, Moonchild. Yes, I [?]. I know. I understand you.
JODY MARSH: Did you hear that, Five? Andy, are you hearing Moonchild?
ANDY: Everything is in alignment, yes. We are all one with everything. [?].
JODY MARSH: Andy, you can come down now.
ANDY: Oh, hi, Jody, Five. Yeah, sorry. I thought I was being clever there, but you're right, I'm not really cut out for this spy/counterspy thing. Let's just get me down and get me swapped for your friend. Ah, there we are. Back on the ground, right as rain, no bones broken.
JODY MARSH: But Andy, are you - ? Look. I know this is weird, but do you have Moonchild Syndrome? Are you still hearing her?
ANDY: Oh, only at times of stress. She's sort of comforting. Just a residue from that thing that happened. I used to drink a lot of Ceretin back in the day.
JODY MARSH: But Andy, do you know what the Minister's doing to people with Moonchild Syndrome?
ANDY: [laughs] Let me guess: she's chopping us up and feeding us to the dragons, or babies! Or chopping up dragon babies and feeding them to us. You people never stop, do you?
Look, you've won. I didn't get to the bridge myself. You can stop scaremongering. I won't run away again. I'll even take the lead. Come on. The bridge is just over there. Let's run.
SAM YAO: We can't... we can't stop him going back if he really wants to. [sighs] Better go after him, Five.
AMELIA SPENS: Oh, lovely. A marvelous collection of pamphlets on Wakened Land. I will enjoy using those for kindling. And here come the Abel runners now, with their prisoner.
ANDY: Hello. Can't wait to get home to Rotunda. My chili peppers must be ready to pick.
JODY MARSH: You don't have to go, Andy. We'll work something out.
AMELIA SPENS: Oh, for goodness' sake, and sacrifice Bernard? He wants to go, Jody.
ANDY: I do. I'm going to take my neighbor's pet rat, Mikey, for a walk this afternoon.
AMELIA SPENS: Off you go then, Andy. Here comes Bernard with a bag on his head. How charmingly retro.
BERNARD PRIOR: Ah. Oh, it's good to – it's good to see some familiar faces. It's been months. How are things at Abel and New Canton? Is Scorpion Fang still running the north side of the market?
AMELIA SPENS: Ah, no. I'm afraid Scorpion Fang's had to leave, Bernard.
BERNARD PRIOR: Oh, good lord. Uh, please untie my hands. But that'll mean there's no one to keep the peace between the Red Book Group and the Psychoanalysts Enclave.
AMELIA SPENS: I've brokered an agreement between them. Alternate Wednesdays.
BERNARD PRIOR: But the Broken Rider Collective will never stand for that!
AMELIA SPENS: Oh, their leader met with an unfortunate accident right about... oh. Now.
JODY MARSH: Do you understand anything she's talking about?
SAM YAO: I think it's a tightly interconnected web of interests that have been running New Canton for the past year.
JODY MARSH: Did you ever consider working on the Middle East peace process before the apocalypse, Amelia?
BERNARD PRIOR: But Amelia, this leaves a power vacuum right at the top of the organization of New Canton. One which I would be symbolically equipped to fill, but my months of captivity mean I'm entirely unaware of the political currents.
AMELIA SPENS: Yes, I admit that had occurred to me. You know, I think New Canton would be an ideal base of operations to conduct a long-term investigation into the whereabouts of some very young people. We must have a talk, Bernard.
JODY MARSH: Is it weird that I think I feel more secure with Amelia running New Canton?
SAM YAO: Devil you know, maybe? Uh, yeah, I've got Andy on long-range cams. Do you – [sighs] do you want to know?
JODY MARSH: Don't know. Do I?
SAM YAO: He's shaken hands with a couple of people. They've put him into a car. The car's not heading towards Rotunda, though. It's on the road to London.
JODY MARSH: Oh. Right. They probably knew about the Moonchild Syndrome and that's why they agreed to exchange Bernard for him.
SAM YAO: He wanted to go. You tried to convince him, but he wanted to go.
JODY MARSH: Janine would have found a way to make him stay. Janine would have found a way to explain which side is right and which is wrong! Janine would have rescued those babies already.
SAM YAO: But she hasn't, and she's not here. We're doing the best we can!

TEACHING- [Past posts below] As this stage in the story of Ahab- we see a wicked king who was being manipulated by his wife- the famous Jezebel. We saw the showdown where God used his prophet to bring judgment against Israel- and we see in Ahab somewhat of a broken man.
Yet- the enemies of Israel make a mistake. Benhadad the king of Syria forms an ungodly alliance- he then comes against Ahab. Ahab seems to concede- and give up.
Then the Syrian king makes a mistake- he figures Ahab gave in so easily- he would push the limits. Then God does something- he uses the young men in Israel to route the enemy. Yes- even though God’s people were under judgment- and God used pagan nations to judge his own people- yet God also will defend his name.
Though Israel is under judgment- yet- they had a history with God. They were a mighty army in days gone by- and other nations learned this lesson the hard way. After the initial defeat of the Syrians- God tells Ahab to regroup- because he will be back.
Yes- in life- there will be times of great victory against great odds- and yet the battle is not over yet. The Syrians will come back and fight again- and will suffer another great defeat. There is an unknown prophet in this chapter who will carry out a special work- he will have one of his own brothers wound him- and he will disguise himself and bring a message to Ahab.
I used this [on video] as a type of Christ- who was wounded by his own friends- and they did not recognize him at his first appearing to Israel. Yet- like the prophet in this chapter- the ‘mask’ will be removed one day- and Israel will see the prophet who was wounded by his friends-
Zechariah 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
I will add my past teaching below- but the practical principle for us is if we depend on God as we did at the start- then God will indeed come thru for us. God takes delight in delivering his people when they are outnumbered- this is a spiritual principle in scripture-
Joshua 23:10 One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
He receives glory when just a few of his people can carry out the task against great odds. Yes- Ahab will still come under judgment from God- he will go down in history as a wicked king.
But this day the enemies of God learned a lesson- It was actually a proverb in the mouth of Ahab himself- 1Kings 20:11 And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.
Basically he told the Syrian king ‘Don’t count your chickens before they hatch’- Benhadad learned this lesson the hard way. Isaiah 54:16 [More verses below] Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. (1071)1ST KINGS 20- Benhadad, king of Syria, besieges Israel and threatens Ahab ‘give me your gold, wives and kids’. Ahab was a demoralized man, his wife was already running the show, he relinquished any remnant of nobility years ago. He responds ‘sure, take it all. What do I care?’ So all goes well, Not! Benhadad says ‘one more thing, tomorrow my men will come and inspect your stuff, if they see anything else of value, they taking that too!’ So Ahab consults with his men, he tells them the situation and they decide to reject the final offer. The fight is on. Notice how the Lord sends Ahab true prophets who give him guidance along the way, it’s like the Lord was willing to allow Ahab some time to get things right. The false prophets are dead, Elijah rebuilt the altar, who knows, maybe God was giving Ahab a real chance at reform. So Ahab does okay, he has a few battles with Syria, and at the end he LETS THE WICKED ENEMY GO! God rebukes him for this thru a prophet. God basically says ‘look, I gave you a second chance. I had a task for you, your job was to recognize and eliminate the threats to my people’ what happened? I have noticed thru the years that leaders, good men, will often fall into mindsets that say ‘well, after all our goal is to succeed and be happy. Have good church attendance, good income. Why even bother dealing with stuff that’s wrong?’ There are times in church history where God is looking for reformers, men and women who are willing to take a stand and say ‘enough, this stuff has be going on for too long, we will have no more of it’ [doctrines and stuff that lead Gods people astray]. It seems as if Ahab was living for the day, willing to let the wicked king live another day. After all, what harm can it do? He disobeyed God, he was given a mandate to execute justice, he didn’t. God chose him to complete the task, not just survive. Ahab blew it big time. I haven’t done a commentary on Mark’s gospel- and when I get back to Texas I might pick up on where I left off and make a complete study out of it. When I left the guys I thought of possibly doing a NYC video at midnight type of a thing- I’ve done those before- and you can see how the streets are always crowded in the ‘city that never sleeps’. But I’ll put that off for now. On today’s post/video I walked past the spot where I made some of my first teaching videos- in 2014- below are those videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSwvNQlFyuY %5BNorth Bergen- 2014] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SxYy2p1OX4 %5BNorth Bergen- 2014] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4VF0gOYw_k %5BNorth Bergen- 2015] PAST TEACHING- [verses below] Jesus talks about the story of king David found in Samuel- I taught that chapter before- 1st Samuel 21- here’s the link to my study [below I’ll paste the text to my commentary on the chapter] https://ccoutreach87.com/1st-2nd-samuel/ I mentioned these bible books on today’s video [Mark 2]- here are my studies on them- https://ccoutreach87.com/john-complete-links-added/ https://ccoutreach87.com/james-2015/ (905)SAMUEL 21- David is fleeing from Saul and he goes to the priest at Nob. The priest wonders what’s up. David tells him he is on a special assignment from the king and he and his men need food. The priest tells him the only food available is the consecrated bread that is only for God and the priesthood. David convinces the priest to let them eat and David asks ‘do you have any weapons here’. The priest says ‘I have the sword you used to kill the giant’ David says ‘great, that will work just fine’. Jesus used this story to describe himself and the disciples [Mark 2]. One day Jesus and the disciples were going thru the grain fields and the disciples picked the grain and ate it on the Sabbath. The Pharisees said ‘your disciples are breaking Gods law by picking it on the Sabbath’. Now, to be honest they were breaking the over extended ideas that the religious Pharisees came up with thru their legalism. But Jesus still used this example as a defense. He says ‘have you not read what David and his men did? They ate the ceremonial showbread that was not lawful, only the priests could eat it’. David and his men are a symbol of Jesus and his men. While it is true that the bread was only lawful for the priests, David is a king/priest who gets away with doing ‘priestly things’ because of his picture of Christ. Scripture says he put on an ephod [priestly garment] which only priests could do. David functioned before the open Ark in Jerusalem. He did things that other kings were punished for [Saul, Uzziah]. Jesus in essence was saying to the Pharisees ‘I am the new priest/king from which all future law and worship will be measured by. Me and my followers are not under the law, the law serves us’! In Christ we are free from the guilt of the law, we live above legalism and follow the master. David and his men were acting like priests and kings contrary to the economy of their day. David was a type of Jesus whose future priestly ministry would ‘out trump’ the law. I promised no more political stuff- but for the first 20 minutes of the video- I get into it. The last 10 minutes I do teach- and have some new notes below on that. I made this video a few days ago- before the latest ‘controversies’- the Hillary WikiLeaks and the Trump video. It really makes no difference- I’m simply dealing with media bias. Trying to show how the media decides what to focus on. Yet- the real important issues of our time are put on the back burner- and we do politics like a sport]. .Debates .Media bias .Clinton Foundation .Why no taxes? .Clintons health is a real issue .Why is she off the trail? .How did the Clintons get rich? .What about the server? .Why did CNN fire the doctor? .Google even manipulated the search results .Russia .Abortion .The sword came back NEW- David is on the run from King Saul. He shows up at the house of God and asks the priest for food. The priest is nervous- David is alone [not a full military back up] and something just doesn’t seem right. David assures the priest ‘look- I’m on a special mission for the king- it’s so secret I left quickly- didn’t even have time to take food or weapons’. Wow- this must be some mission? How about some lie. Yes- David is good at lots of stuff- and he lied great here. So- the priest gives David and his few men the Holy bread- which is only for the priests. Now- David is not from the priestly tribe- Levi- but from Judah. Ok- David takes the food and asks ‘do you have any weapons’? The priest says ‘only the sword- I mean it’s wrapped up in the back- we treat the thing like it’s holy’. Yes- the sword David used to cut the giants head off. I think David must have felt a little remorse here. The whole nation had that sword as a memento of David’s great victory over Goliath. He used the sword only one time- the day he cut the giants head off. After all- it was the giant’s sword. Now- he’s on the run from Saul- already made up some great lies- and the priest gives him the weapon he used in the past. When he trusted in the living God- against all odds- and was a righteous warrior. David takes the sword- goes to the Philistines- Huh? Yes- he flees to the enemy camp- and the king of Gath says ‘why did you bring this guy to me- isn’t he David the great warrior who killed us in the past’. Now- David seems to have been trying to get a job- you know- as a mercenary. He couldn’t fight for Saul-and that’s his greatest paying skill. But when the philistines recognize him- Well- what do you think David did? Maybe yelled out ‘yes- I’m the one who took the giants head off- and I still come to you in the name of the living God- and…’ Yeah- did he do that John? Well actually not. Instead- he started drooling at the mouth- and scribbling on the doors- you know- like he was nuts. ‘John- you shouldn’t joke about stuff like that’. I’m not! Go read it [below]. Yes- the great man after ‘God’s own heart’ was so afraid- he pretended he was nuts- and yes- the scheme worked- The king says ‘this guy’s not David- that great man of honor- he’s a nut’! Ahh- we see what fear can do to a man- even a great man. Yes- David is in a tough spot- His own king- Saul- is out to get him. His only option was to go work for the enemy- At least that’s what he thought. And then he not only acted like a nut- He lied to the priest too. He ate the bread that Jesus himself said was only for the priests 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? Jesus. And he schemed his way into a corner. Does anything good come out of this at all? Yes- Jesus used this story- when defending himself and his disciples when they were accused of violating the law. 23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. And Jesus- who too was from the tribe of Judah- Superseded the Old Covenant law- He never broke it- but he ushered in a better covenant. By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. Hebrews So David- on his bad day- actually glorified Jesus on his good day. And even in his failure- gave Jesus one of the greatest stories he could use to show his superiority over the Levitical priests. Yes- that Jesus and his men- just like David and his- did indeed have the right to do what they did. Because they were from a better tribe- The one that our Lord ‘sprang from’. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. Heb. 7:14 Amen. [this is a chapter from one of my little books- talked about wineskins] CHAPTER 8 ARE CHURCH BUILDINGS EVIL? [OR THE GUY WHO WANTED TO CAST DEMONS OUT OF ME!] Many years ago before I really understood the truths of ecclesia and the communal aspect of the church, I was introduced to the belief that the ‘church building’ itself was wrong. I don’t personally adhere to this belief, but let me share the story. While ministering as a new believer in Christ and learning ‘the ropes’ of ministry, I remember driving past a brother who was a street minister from Mexico. It was unusual in the way he was conducting his street meetings. He would get permission to use an empty lot and then set up actual church pews in the lot without walls or any type of cover over it [even if it rained!]. Well one day on my daily rounds of visiting people and witnessing for Jesus [because this is what ministers are supposed to do, right?] I stopped by this brother’s lot and figured I would bless him with some lunch and listen to him preach [I felt sorry for the brother because no one else was attending his meetings]. After he spoke I had a chance to fellowship with him. After hearing his thoughts I realized it was on purpose for him to have no walls or cover over the pews [these were actual church pews that were out there in the open!]. He shared with me the verse in Hebrews [13:10] where it says that those who worship at the sanctuary have no right to partake of the altar of Christ [the cross]. He saw this as meaning that all Christians who meet in buildings [the sanctuary] were lost! Well, even as a young believer in the lord I was smart enough to know that this verse had nothing to do with ‘church buildings’. I showed the brother that in context the verse simply meant that those Jews [remember who the book of Hebrews was written to] who were not willing to leave the old covenant system [the sanctuary] could not move on with the new covenant truth of Christ and his cross. The sanctuary represented the whole concept of law and Judaism. This verse had nothing to do about the inherent nature of church buildings! Buildings themselves are neutral ground; it’s the style of one person functioning [the pastor] at the expense of the rest of the body that I see as less than ideal. Well after seeing the obvious error of the way this brother was reading this verse, I began to ‘expound unto him the way of God more perfectly’. When he finally understood what I was saying [you could tell by the look in his eyes that he saw the truth] instead of repenting of his distorted view, he became irate and began to cast demons out of me [hey, I didn’t think there were any in me!]. The reason I share this example is because there are those in the house church movement, while not as extreme, seem to view the church building itself as an evil thing. My personal view is the church building can become a hindrance when we view it as part of a system that makes up ‘church’. We seem to see the whole concept of the church building and the pastor as the weekly speaker and all the other things associated around this structure [like tithing to the storehouse] as ‘the system’ that God instituted to carry out his work in the earth. Remember Gods inherent authority resides in no human system or mode of religious worship. His authority resides in the church, the actual people of God in any given community on earth. So if there are believers carrying out Gods purpose, whether they have the whole system that we deem ‘local church’ or not, is irrelevant. Remember what we said about Jesus and the 1st century religious mind? They were finding fault with Jesus and his disciples because they were not following the religious protocol of the day. When we embrace certain mindsets that see ‘local church’ as the limited system of Sunday worship and all the other usual things associated with it, what we’re unconsciously doing is vesting authority in a style, or form of religious worship while by-passing the true legitimacy of Gods people. Its not to say that Gods people who function in the whole system of Sunday church are illegitimate [that would be making the same mistake as the brother who wanted to cast the demons out of me!] but this shows us how we unconsciously make the same mistake as the 1st century Pharisee by seeing as illegitimate those who don’t follow certain protocols. It was a common thing during the 90’s to speak about the ‘changing of the wineskin’ in order to receive the new wine [the new move of God]. Many of theses thoughts were helpful in causing us to re-think the way we ‘do’ church. I also remember a common theme being ‘God wants to pour out his Spirit, but the wineskins are not ready’ in some of these examples the ministers actually meant that we don’t have big enough buildings to put all these new converts so God is ‘withholding the new wine until the new buildings go up’. At this point you should begin seeing how once again this is confusing the reality of Christian community with ‘the church building’. I find it interesting that the pouring out of the Spirit at Pentecost was not delayed because of the lack of facilities to put all the new converts in. Also the great missionary journeys of Paul were not delayed ‘until the new wineskins were in place’. This shows us how we’ve come to view the people of God as being dependent on the present system. Could it be that God withholds His Spirit because the ‘new wineskin’ could refer more to believers seeing themselves as the actual church that God wants to fill? If we are not rightly discerning Christ’s community as a self-sustaining society of people then the church really isn’t able to contain the new wine. If we are so limited in our thinking to view the new wineskin as larger facilities, as opposed to a rethinking of what it means to truly be Christ’s body, then maybe the holdup has more to do with a change in the way we view ‘church’ then it has to do with bigger church buildings! CHAPTER 9 WHAT IN THE WORLD IS ‘THE LOCAL CHURCH’? Growing up as a catholic boy [though not a good one] I remember when I came to know the lord I started reading through the bible and found how the bible contradicted many of the religious beliefs I held to as a boy [this is not to say Catholics are not Christian]. Later while attending a good Baptist church I naively believed that good Baptists must have it right because they do read the bible![parts] Here’s the whole book- https://ccoutreach87.com/further-talks-on-church-and-ministry/ [parts] There were Jews at the time of the first century who tried to ‘get along’ with Rome- and with the person in charge of their region [one of the sons of Herod the Great at the time of Christ]. These are referred to as Herodian’s in the bible. Some wanted a revolution to rid Rome from Jerusalem- these were the Zealots [one of Jesus disciples was in this group]. Some thought if they returned to a legalistic obeisance of the law- that this would bring in a deliverer- like the stories we read about in the Old testament- these were the Pharisees. And some took more of a political compromise- these were the Sadducees. Eventually a war with Rome would be fought [By the way- Josephus- the famous 1st century historian- fought on the side of the Jews in the war- and after Jerusalem was sacked in A.D. 70- he went to Rome and wrote his great works- thinking he would make a case for the Jewish people with the Romans. This is why we have his works today- which are very valuable to scholars]. NOTE- In time I’ll try and cover how we ‘got our bibles’ [called the Canon- meaning Rule/ Measurement]. Frankly- there is a lot of confusion in the general public about conspiracies [like the Catholic Church had some type of plot to keep certain books out]. Or stories about how the Church taught Mary Magdalene was a prostitute so they could discredit her. Actually- we read in the gospels that Jesus cast out ‘spirits’ from a woman who was probably living this type of life- And Jesus had a ministry to the down and out- it is indeed possible that Mary was one of these women- And if true- it would not demean her in any way- That’s how this tradition more than likely developed- But- we don’t know for sure. So a few years back the Church officially said ‘we don’t know’. Ok- Plot? [parts] Ok- the ruling empire at the time of Christ was Rome- just prior to the appearance of Jesus- the Roman Emperor- Caesar Augustus- consolidated the Roman Empire under his rule- Rome was ruled by a senate- some famous names from history were in it- Cicero being one. Caesar Augustus was the nephew of Julius Caesar- his real name was Octavian [Octavius]. After the death of Julius Caesar- there were some power struggles that took place- between some other famous people. Marc Antony being one of them [Cleopatra too- he was in love with the girl for sure]. Now- we read about Augustus in the New Testament- and we read in the book of Revelation about the Mark of the Beast- and that those who don’t worship- give homage to the Beast- they will be killed. So- Many Christians would be killed because they would refuse to give homage to Caesar Augustus [meaning son of the Divine]. ‘Wow- how did he get a name like that’ [there was more than one Caesar by the way- as well as more than one Herod- who did play a part in these power struggles- it can get confusing- even to me]. When Octavian defeated Marc Antony at Actium [32 BC]. Herod [The Great] had a problem- he had previously sided with Antony and found himself on the losing side. Yet he was smart- did some ‘brown nosing’ as we say-and patched things up. Herod had 3 sons- who would eventually take positions of authority in the Roman government at the time of Christ. Herod Antipas was over the region that we read about in the New Testament where Jesus did most of his ministry- Galilee. Ok- Octavian claimed deity because of a heavenly sign associated with his rise to power- and this is how he became called ‘Caesar Augustus’. He sort of saw himself as a ‘re-incarnate’- of his great uncle Julius Caesar. ‘John- what in the heck does this have to do with the Dead Sea Scrolls’. Ok- good question. The Jews had various responses to the empires that ruled over them during various times. Alexander the Great instituted Hellenization- a sort of cultural compromise over the people he conquered. They could keep their religious/cultural roots- but would be subservient to Alexander and Greek rule. Some Jewish people rejected any compromise- we call them the Essenes- they moved out of town- so to speak, and lived in what we refer to as the Qumran community. This was a few centuries before the time of Christ- and this was where the Dead Seas Scrolls were found in the 20th century. A Bedouin boy was looking for his goats- threw a rock in a cave right off the Dead Sea- and that’s how we found the scrolls. The scrolls might have been hidden there by the Essenes- Now- when my friends asked me about them- I told them that it’s been a while since I read up on any of this- but to the best of my memory the thing that made them significant was the fact that they were very old manuscripts- from the bible- and they backed up what we had had all along. I did read up this week- and basically had it right. The earliest Hebrew manuscripts of the Old Testament we had previously dated back to around 900- 1000 A.D. These manuscripts went back about 1000 years earlier- and they contained portions from almost every book of the Old testament- and some complete books. The only book missing was Esther. So- this was indeed a very significant find for scholars. But the Scrolls also contain some of the writings from the Essenes themselves- things we never had before- so this too was significant. There were Jews at the time of the first century who tried to ‘get along’ with Rome- and with the person in charge of their region [one of the sons of Herod the Great at the time of Christ]. These are referred to as Herodian’s in the bible. Some wanted a revolution to rid Rome from Jerusalem- these were the Zealots [one of Jesus disciples was in this group]. So a few years back the Church officially said ‘we don’t know’. Ok- Plot? No- just being careful. So there are other misguided beliefs like this- that sincere people have- and over time I hope to get to them. I’ll do one more in keeping with this post. I mentioned above that Caesar Augustus did indeed take the title of ‘son of God’. And some critics of the Church say ‘see- there were all types of religions that had Sons of God’. I watched one show a few years back- and it stated that these religions had ’12 disciples- a leader named Lord and Savior- and he healed and claimed to be God’s Son- and rose from the dead’. Ok- that show was ‘fibbing’ to put it lightly- they went too far [historically speaking] in trying to diminish the Christians claim of Christ by doing this. Now- is there some truth to this at all? Yes- like I just mentioned above- Octavian did indeed claim deity- a ‘son of god’. So- how do we explain this? In the book of Galatians the bible says ‘in the FULLNESS of times God sent forth his Son’. Jesus came at a set time in history- in fulfilment of the Jewish Prophets- to be who he was- and to do what he did. Now- this is not special pleading here- but I find it a masterpiece that God’s Son came at a time when the Roman Empire had one sitting on the throne- who too claimed deity. Yet Jesus was in a region of the lower class- his men were not highly educated- and his followers were people under oppression. Augustus lived in the wealthy and influential capital of ‘the world’- he had all you could ever ask for- he was worshiped as a god. Yet in 3 short centuries- one of the heirs of the empire- Constantine- would have an experience – not with a former Caesar- but with a vison of a Cross- He would convert to Christianity- and declare Christianity to be the religion of the realm. VERSES- Mark 2:1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. Mark 2:2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. Mark 2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. Mark 2:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Mark 2:6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Mark 2:7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? Mark 2:8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Mark 2:9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? Mark 2:10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) Mark 2:11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. Mark 2:12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. Mark 2:13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. Mark 2:14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. Mark 2:15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. Mark 2:16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mark 2:18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? Mark 2:19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. Mark 2:20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. Mark 2:21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. Mark 2:22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles. Mark 2:23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. Mark 2:24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? Mark 2:25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? Mark 2:26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Mark 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. 1Samuel 21:1 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? 1Samuel 21:2 And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place. 1Samuel 21:3 Now therefore what is under thine hand? give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present. 1Samuel 21:4 And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women. 1Samuel 21:5 And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel. 1Samuel 21:6 So the priest gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away. 1Samuel 21:7 Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chiefest of the herdmen that belonged to Saul. 1Samuel 21:8 And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king’s business required haste. 1Samuel 21:9 And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me. 1Samuel 21:10 And David arose and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath. 1Samuel 21:11 And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 1Samuel 21:12 And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath. 1Samuel 21:13 And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard. 1Samuel 21:14 Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me? 1Samuel 21:15 Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house? ________________________________________ 13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. James 30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But Benhadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings that helped him. 1Kings 20:17 And the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Benhadad sent out, and they told him, saying, There are men come out of Samaria. 1Kings 20:18 And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive. 1Kings 20:19 So these young men of the princes of the provinces came out of the city, and the army which followed them. 1Kings 20:20 And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Benhadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen. 1Kings 20:21 And the king of Israel went out, and smote the horses and chariots, and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter. 1Kings 20:22 And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee. 1Kings 20:23 And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. 1Kings 20:24 And do this thing, Take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their rooms: 1Kings 20:25 And number thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice, and did so. 1Kings 20:26 And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel. 1Kings 20:27 And the children of Israel were numbered, and were all present, and went against them: and the children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country. 1Kings 20:28 And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 1Kings 20:29 And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day. 1Kings 20:30 But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. And Benhadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber. 1Kings 20:31 And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life. 1Kings 20:32 So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Benhadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother. 1Kings 20:33 Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Benhadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot. 1Kings 20:34 And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away. 1Kings 20:35 And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him. 1Kings 20:36 Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him. 1Kings 20:37 Then he found another man, and said, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man smote him, so that in smiting he wounded him. 1Kings 20:38 So the prophet departed, and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with ashes upon his face. 1Kings 20:39 And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy life be for his life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver. 1Kings 20:40 And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it. 1Kings 20:41 And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets. 1Kings 20:42 And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people. 1Kings 20:43 And the king of Israel went to his house heavy and displeased, and came to Samaria.
“Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? Luke 14:31 Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Wolfenstein 2 New Colossus
First, I want to say I love this game. I was incredibly excited for it when all there was was just rumors about it being in production. New Order was one of my favorite games, and I loved every moment of it. New Colossus takes everything that was amazing about the first game and ramps it up even further, embracing absurdity, and going hog wild in a way that just works.
Spoilers below the cut
The game, as we all know, starts after the battle with Deathshead. BJ has been in a coma, and is crippled. The Kreisau base on Eva’s Hammer is attacked by Engel, still seeking vengeance for BJ killing her Bubi. She almost wins out, capturing BJ and two friends, Caroline and whoever you pick to save from Deathshead. There is now carry over of save data, you are given the choice in a series of flashbacks.
On the flashbacks, you get to learn more about BJ’s childhood. His father is an abusive asshole, and his mother a Jewish woman. I remember that there was fan speculation that BJ might be Jewish, or have Jewish heritage, and I’m very glad they went with this. I think it makes BJ more than just an American soldier fighting for America. He has stakes in killing nazis beyond them being America’s enemy. The flashback sequence shows us that BJ’s dad was a nasty bigot, throwing around the n-word, saying it’s “Up to us to straighten out the queer” and even being anti-semtic toward his own wife. It’s implied that they are only married so that BJ’s father can have access to his wife’s family money, and that he has been squandering that.
After your capture, Caroline is killed by Engel. I think we saw this coming, BJ is in her power armor through (half of) the game, and she wasn’t shown in any of the trailers beyond scenes coming from the first level. It’s a gut punch still, and it’s something that motivates BJ through the early levels.
Early on we are told through inner thoughts of BJ that he is dying, and doesn’t have very long to live, maybe weeks, maybe less. He’s driven to burn through and root out the nazi cancer infecting his country. He tries to hide it from Anya, which mostly just causes angst for them.
The early levels are marked most notably by having half your HP. However, the game makes up by giving you higher armor. It’s still a rough handicap, even on lower difficulty levels. Levels include discovering that nazis have been hiding on the u-boat in a hidden section of the hull, a level similar to the side quests at the Berlin hide-out that took you through catacombs, sneaking through the ruins of Manhattan, and infiltrating Area 52.
Area 52 marks the half-way point, culminating in one of my favorite sequences, where BJ stops by his old house. We’re treated to more flashbacks of his childhood, including him playing with the black girl that so enraged his father in the first flashbacks. All of this comes to a spectacular scene where you collect BJ’s mother’s ring and find his father waiting for him.
BJ’s dad is a proud collaborator, working with the nazis and selling out a number of people, including his own wife. He threatens BJ with a shot gun, to which, in typical Blazko fashion, Billy chops off his father’s arm and kills him with a hatchet. A beautiful moment, and a deserved end to the monster.
Things go to shit from there for BJ. Engel captures him, steals his power armor, and leaves him a chained cripple. He gets humiliated, is forced to watch Super Spesh killed, and are left believing that Anya and the rest of his friends are dead too before he is taken to court.
Then he breaks free and slaughters and entire building of nazis. Which is a dream sequence that ends with BJ hallucinating his mother. BJ is taken away and is finally publicly executed by Engel, beheaded by a sword and his head is dropped to an incinerator.
Yep, half way through the game BJ is killed. It’s okay, it doesn’t stick.
In what is a delightful twist right out of a cheesy B sci-fi movie, his head is swapped for a fake, put in a jar that keeps it alive, and he is given a new genetically engineered body.
With a new lease on life, BJ also gets a new toy, shoulder pads, a harness, or stilts. What you pick doesn’t effect the story, just gameplay. Each is for a different style, and gives you a different ability. I picked the harness because I like stealth.
With the nazis thinking him dead, and with a new body, BJ continues his fight with a new drive. Murdering nazis and recruiting more resistance fighters, BJ builds an army and starts taking out nazi commanders.
BJ explores the New Orleans Ghetto, a walled city of dissidants and deviants that is being purged by the nazis. He manages to rescue a large group of freedom fighters and their leader, Horton, who is a bit of a douche, but is willing to fight after a bit of convincing.
Riding the panzerhound is a fun sequence of taking a flamethrower to nazi scum and incinerating every single one of them in your path. It’s not too hard to get it through to the end of the sequence, since you’ll pick up scraps for it, much like the robot escape from Camp Belica.
It’s decided that to fully kick off the revolution, they need to take out the airship that is used by Engel to quickly respond to any sort of resistance to Nazi rule. They need codes for that, much like you needed codes for the u-boat’s cannon. And where are the codes? In space! But not on the moons. This time you go to Venus!
Disguised as an actor auditioning for the role of none other than William Joseph “Terror-Billy” Blazkowicz, William Joseph “Terror-Billy” Blazkowicz  infiltrates the nazi base on Venus where he comes face to face with Actually Hitler.
Hitler is an old decrepit man now, hacking and coughing and walking half bent over. He still has the absurd mustache and a goofy fashy haircut. The encounter is marked by him being a paranoid nut, shooting the other actors when they mess up (this includes you if you get the lines wrong), urinating in an ice bucket, and vomiting on the floor.
During the audition, BJ is given a chance that mirrors one given in the New Order. Much like he could grab Engel’s gun, he can Riverdance on Hitler’s face. BJ gets further with the furher, actually stamping his face in, but then heare evaporated by a robot for his efforts. Worth doing (at least) once, since you are returned to just before the stomp if you do it.
After the audition BJ is selected to be the actor for the film about himself, and he has to escape his room, infiltrate the control room on the Venusian surface, and collect the controls for the airship. A mechanic here that is unique to the level is the coolant. On medium it isn’t much concern. There are plenty of coolant stations and it doesn’t drop fast enough to be a real danger, though you will probably hear the reminder lines from BJ a few times.
Codes in hand, BJ returns to Earth and prepares to steal the highly advanced airship.
But first there is something wrong. The emergency lights are on and it’s only Bombate to greet BJ as he boards the sub. Where is everyone?
Surprise~! It’s BJ’s birthday! You are treated to a hilarious montage of the group enjoying drinks and having a hilarious party that includes a pig ride, Max Hass no-selling BJ’s punches, and Set Roth vomiting in the jar that once held BJ’s head.
After a sequence that is different based on who survived the events of New Order, it is finally time to take the revolution to the nazi’s door.
The airship is not an easy level. There are tons of elite enemies, long fights that are taxing, and a complex sequence to unlock the control room. The roughest fight is the final one, where you have to battle through waves of elite and non-elite soldiers, super-soldiers, and two super robots at once. Once you are finally through that you get to enter the bridge.
BJ is ambushed by nazi soldiers there who come through a bay door with a panzerhound. Luckily for BJ, Anya is there. Remember the shot of pregnant Anya throwing the grenades at the feet of Nazi soldiers from the trailer? That happens here. She slides, tosses the grenades, blows up the nazis in a rain of blood. She has to throw off her jacket because it’s on fire, and the panzerhound is still up. Does that stop her? Hell no. She grabs a pair of shot guns and blasts the robo-dog away, half naked, pregnant, and drenched in blood.
I can see why BJ is so in love with her.
Airship firmly in the control of the heroes, we discover that word has not reached Engel, who is doing an interview on TV below. Well, no time like the present. The gang descends to the surface, breaks into the tv station, and BJ gets to walk through the rafters until he finally gets to the stage and has his one-on-one with the most powerful woman in the reich.
The fight is quick. She shots at BJ, BJ chops off her arm with a hatchet, and then buries the blade in her skull while giving a speech about how fighting for freedom. It’s another intense moment, and you get to top it off with a speech from Grace (and whoever you saved from Deathshead) to the American people to stand up and fight for their freedom.
Roll credits, then a mid-credits scene where BJ proposes to Anya with his mother’s ring, which Engel stole.
It’s an amazing game. The story is handled like a movie, the cinematics have a movie feel, like they are just scenes lifted from a film about BJ. In-game sequences often have a movie-like feel to them as well, and it works really well. New Order did the same thing, and I think it’s what made the game so good.
Actual gameplay is pretty tough. As I have mentioned, even medium difficulty can be hard, and the game isn’t too forgiving. Luckily there is plenty of ways to find health and armor, and there is no shortage of guns and ammo. The heavy weapons are worth picking up if you get into a heavy firefight.
As I have been repeating, I cannot recommend this game enough. It isn’t perfect, but my god, this is a very very good game. Goofy, certainly. Hard, definitely, but if you like killing nazis (as you should) then this is the game for you.

WandaVision: Why Wanda Isn’t the Villain Of Her Own Story
https://ift.tt/3tjxc8s
This article contains spoilers for WandaVision episode 4.
We’re officially four episodes into WandaVision, and the situation in Westview is starting to heat up. But with more than half of the remaining season left yet to air (the first season consists of a planned nine episodes), there’s still so much more we don’t know.
Although the first three episodes were firmly ensconced in the sitcom-esque small-town reality that Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) find themselves in, with only the occasional blip to indicate that something strange is going on, episode 4, titled “We Interrupt This Program,” finally pans out to reveal the true circumstances of the situation. Not only is the town of Westview, New Jersey trapped within some type of cosmic energy field (the likes of which resemble the swirls and patterns of an old TV screen), but it appears that the person ultimately responsible for keeping everyone contained within this fantasy world… is Wanda herself.
The possibility that Wanda was the force behind the mystery of Westview is a theory that has been circulated within the show’s viewer base since the first episode aired — and, in particularly delightful form, all those fan theories were something the series itself referenced as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) and Dr. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings), working in tandem with the organization known as SWORD, posited various theories about what was going on in the town. Was the universe responsible for casting two Avengers in a sitcom, or was something more sinister at stake? How was it even possible that Vision was popping up on screen alive and well, when by all accounts he had definitely died during the events of Avengers: Infinity War? And why sitcoms, of all things?
Scenes from the past three episodes, in which Woo and Lewis attempt to reach out to Wanda through the energy barrier and fail, are given more context in this episode as well. Everything leading up to this has been about SWORD trying to figure out how to get into Westview and, hopefully, rescue the Avengers from whatever force is trapping them inside — but the truth proves to be much more understandable than that.
“We Interrupt This Program” is the episode where we finally learn where this series takes place in the overall timeline of the MCU. As it turns out, “Geraldine” is actually Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), daughter of pilot and Captain Marvel’s close friend Maria Rambeau. When Monica returns to reality following the Hulk’s reversal of Thanos’ snap, she finds a world that is five years gone from when she left it, and her mother having long since passed away from the cancer that was supposedly in remission.

WandaVision: Is SWORD Hiding MCU Fantastic Four Clues?
By Mike Cecchini
Three weeks later, though, Monica is back at SWORD and ready to take on her next assignment, which is how she ends up in Westview — and accidentally falling into a strange reality as she tries to investigate the mystery firsthand. At first, “Geraldine” easily befriends Wanda and Vision, but in the aftermath of Wanda giving birth to twins Tommy and Billy in episode 3, “Now in Color,” Monica inadvertently reveals that she knows about Pietro, Wanda’s own twin who was murdered by Ultron. In an instant, Wanda’s entire demeanor towards her new friend changes, and we later see her using her own magic to eject Monica from the town.
“It’s Wanda. It’s all Wanda,” Monica says upon her return.
Since episode 4 aired, speculation has understandably swirled about Wanda’s state of mind — whether she had gone evil, become the “true villain” of the series, or whether she was being directed to create this cosmic field by some greater power — but the reality likely lies much closer to what’s clearly spelled out for us in that ending scene than anything we could theorize.
When Vision returns to the house, Wanda initially perceives him in the form he took when he died in Infinity War, after the Mind Stone was forcibly ripped from his head in spite of Wanda’s own attempts to destroy it before Thanos could secure it for himself. Clearly rattled by the sight, she glances away, and when she looks back again, he’s alive and well again. Or is he? Vision tries to tell Wanda that they can leave Westview and go somewhere else, and with tears in her eyes, she says that it isn’t possible before they sit down on the couch together with their newborn children.
As the episode itself reveals in a scene between Monica and SWORD acting director Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg), it’s been three weeks or so since the conclusion of Endgame. That means Wanda has only had three weeks to fully grieve Vision’s passing — since she was one of those who got snapped away at the end of Infinity War, only to be returned for the final battle. Three weeks next to those left behind who had years to process their own losses.
One could argue that Wanda hasn’t even had sufficient opportunity to mourn the death of her twin brother either, since the schedule of an Avenger seems wrapped up in larger-than-life clashes and world-ending stakes with very few opportunities for quiet in between. As of now, she’s lost the two most important people in her life, the two individuals she was closest to, and as the rest of the world moves on, it’s never been more clear that Wanda hasn’t.
However, calling Wanda the villain of the show overlooks the manifest ways in which grief takes shape and erases the complexities of an arc that has slowly begun to unfold over the course of the first half of this season. She may be an antagonizing force, an obstacle for other characters to contend with, but reducing her to pure villainy doesn’t take into account what she’s been through leading up to this series.

Marvel’s WandaVision Glitches Spell Trouble for MCU Reality
By Gavin Jasper
At her core, she’s still a hero — she’s just also a woman in mourning, and right now, the way she is choosing to cope with her grief is to compartmentalize it, to bottle it up somewhere where it can’t get to her and overwhelm her beyond reason. Of course, there’s the clear evidence that she is using her powers to manipulate others, controlling normal citizens into acting out the intricacies of her fantasy sitcom world, and that is something that should have definitive consequences for her later on.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
But the true brilliance of Wanda’s narrative in this show, ultimately, is that it can’t be fit into such a simple dichotomy as good vs. evil, and referring to her as a villain is a simplistic description for a character that has long-since deserved more time spent on her than she’s been afforded in the past. It would be convenient to position Monica as the hero tasked with taking down the evil Scarlet Witch, for example, although how much more poignant would it be if this series ended up revolving more around two women who connect through their shared grief, if Monica and Wanda bond in the losses they’ve suffered and ultimately come out stronger as a united force?
It would do both of these characters justice and, in the process, discard so many lazy storytelling shortcuts that would have pitted them against each other instead. There’s still over half a season left to air, and this likely won’t be the last time these two women share the screen in WandaVision, but in the meantime, until we see what unfolds, we should reject the circulating idea that Wanda is the villain of her own story — because she is, and always has been, much more complicated than that. This just happens to be the first time we’re really getting to see it.
New episodes of WandaVision premiere every Friday on Disney+.

 NEW
As this stage in the story of Ahab- we see a wicked king who was being manipulated by his wife- the famous Jezebel.
Yet- like the prophet in this chapter- the ‘mask’ will be removed one day- and Israel will see the prophet who was wounded by his friends-
 Zechariah 13:6
And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
I will add my past teaching below- but the practical principle for us is if we depend on God as we did at the start- then God will indeed come thru for us.
God takes delight in delivering his people when they are outnumbered- this is a spiritual principle in scripture-
 Joshua 23:10
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
He receives glory when just a few of his people can carry out the task against great odds.
Yes- Ahab will still come under judgment from God- he will go down in history as a wicked king.
But this day the enemies of God learned a lesson-
It was actually a proverb in the mouth of Ahab himself-
1Kings 20:11 And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.
Basically he told the Syrian king ‘Don’t count your chickens before they hatch’-
Benhadad learned this lesson the hard way.
Isaiah 54:16 [More verses below]
Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

Glenn is homeless- and we have had some good talks. I share a little of his story on the short videos. On the teaching video I’ll try and add my past teaching on this chapter. On today’s post/video I walked past the spot where I made some of my first teaching videos- in 2014- below are those videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSwvNQlFyuY [North Bergen- 2014] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SxYy2p1OX4 [North Bergen- 2014] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4VF0gOYw_k [North Bergen- 2015] PAST TEACHING- [verses below] Jesus talks about the story of king David found in Samuel- I taught that chapter before- 1st Samuel 21- here’s the link to my study [below I’ll paste the text to my commentary on the chapter] https://ccoutreach87.com/1st-2nd-samuel/ I mentioned these bible books on today’s video [Mark 2]- here are my studies on them- https://ccoutreach87.com/john-complete-links-added/ https://ccoutreach87.com/james-2015/ (905)SAMUEL 21- David is fleeing from Saul and he goes to the priest at Nob. I made this video a few days ago- before the latest ‘controversies’- the Hillary WikiLeaks and the Trump video. It really makes no difference- I’m simply dealing with media bias. Trying to show how the media decides what to focus on.
Heb. 7:14 Amen. [this is a chapter from one of my little books- talked about wineskins] CHAPTER 8
ARE CHURCH BUILDINGS EVIL? [OR THE GUY WHO WANTED TO CAST DEMONS OUT OF ME!]
Many years ago before I really understood the truths of ecclesia and the communal aspect of the church, I was introduced to the belief that the ‘church building’ itself was wrong.
CHAPTER 9
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS ‘THE LOCAL CHURCH’?
VERSES [These are the verses I taught or quoted on the video- Kings 20]
Isaiah 33:20
Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

1Kings 20:1 And Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots; and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.
1Kings 20:2 And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said unto him, Thus saith Benhadad,
1Kings 20:3 Thy silver and thy gold is mine; thy wives also and thy children, even the goodliest, are mine.
1Kings 20:4 And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have.
1Kings 20:5 And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Benhadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
1Kings 20:6 Yet I will send my servants unto thee to morrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.
1Kings 20:7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.
1Kings 20:8 And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken not unto him, nor consent.
1Kings 20:9 Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Benhadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.
1Kings 20:10 And Benhadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.
1Kings 20:11 And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.
1Kings 20:12 And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.
1Kings 20:13 And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
1Kings 20:14 And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou.
1Kings 20:15 Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.
1Kings 20:16 And they went out at noon.
1Kings 20:24 And do this thing, Take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their rooms:
1Kings 20:25 And number thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.
"Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won't he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
Luke 14:31
Zechariah 12:10
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
