Headcanon about Sebastian and my mc, Sakurako
Tumblr media
NOTE ・Sakurako is a Mary Sue-like character with an unrealistic personality. Reading is not recommended if you don't like Mary Sue-like OCs! ・It's very long. To be honest, all the descriptions of Sakurako are nothing more than a product of complacency for me. I am a little embarrassed to disclose my headcanon, which is filled with these particular settings and delusions...😳 ・Read from the top right in Japanese manga style. ・And again, please bear with my poor English🤣
Until admission to Hogwarts
In 1875, Sakurako was born into a former samurai family when the cherry trees (sakura) were in bloom. In Japan, the samurai society was abolished around 1868 and the samurai were forced to take the status of commoners. Sakurako's samurai-turned-commoner father became a successful trader and took young Sakurako and his family to Britain to get serious about the raw silk trade with Britain. (At the time, there was a thriving raw silk trade between the British and Japanese.)
Her father, who had a male-dominated mindset due to his birth in a samurai society, restricted her from academic opportunities that she did not need for a better marriage. Whenever she went out of the house, local children always made fun of her yellow skin. One day, after such a depressing life, with the sudden awakening of her magical powers, Sakurako received her Hogwarts acceptance letter and became a member of the Wizarding World, a place free of sexism and racism, where she had a fateful meeting with Sebastian and formed a warped love with him.
During the relationship quest with Sebastian
Tumblr media
In my personal opinion, I consider Sebastian to be a very calculating character. Sebastian initially comes into contact with Sakurako as a means of breaking Anne's curse. Sakurako takes an early liking to the boy, Sebastian, who is very kind and helpful to her in her first time in the wizarding world, but it is around the 'In the shadow of the study' quest that Sebastian begins to take a liking to Sakurako. Having grown up watching her parents become arrogant new rich through their success in the trades, Sakurako has a desire to be a good person who is not conceited by her talents and luck. Impressed by the fact that the wizarding world is free from sexism and racism and that everyone treats her with openness, Sakurako is so excited that she takes on any request from anyone without refusal. Sakurako feels threatened by Sebastian's obsession with the relics after "In the shadow of the study", but she can't refuse Sebastian's request and continues to cooperate with him. Then came the tragedy of 'Avada Kedavra'.
Tumblr media
After all is over, Sakurako realises how stupid she has been. She continued to help Sebastian (and the other students) out of kindness and goodwill, but as a result she realised that she was not a good person, but an arrogant monster with no sense of right and wrong. Sebastian's mistakes were all her fault, and she blamed herself from this moment until her death, and she would have lifelong thoughts of 'rewinding time and starting all over again'. Sakurako was deeply in love with Sebastian at this point, but out of remorse she tried to distance herself from him. However, Sebastian forcefully continued to contact Sakurako, confessed his fondness and they began dating.
About relationships
Tumblr media
Elsewhere, Sakurako had established a friendship with Anne over a number of correspondence until tragedy struck, which was disrupted by Anne's disappearance after Solomon's death. In my headcanon, Sebastian heard the news of Anne's death in the seventh year, and Sakurako was also deeply saddened and even more remorseful when she heard of her death. Sakurako kept Anne's letters and the last letter she was unable to send to Anne for the rest of her life.
Subsequent relationship with Sebastian Since she and Sebastian have been seeing each other, Sakurako has been constantly worried that the love Sebastian has for her is not genuine love, but an obsession caused by the confusion and trauma of losing Anne. She was aware that their relationship was codependent, not healthy love, yet she spent her days loving Sebastian so much that she could not reject him. She dreads every day that one day Sebastian's love will disappear and he will instead resent her and saying 'Solomon's death was your fault'. When she is in the seventh year and thinking seriously about her future life, she finally decides to break up with Sebastian.
Tumblr media
When Sebastian realised that Sakurako was acting strangely and that she wanted to break up with him, he asked her to marry him in The Great Hall at a crowded time, in front of many people watching, in a situation where she could not say 'no'. As per Sebastian's cunning intentions, Sakurako is unable to reject Sebastian and becomes engaged to him. However, even after her engagement, Sakurako's insecurities were not exhausted. Worried that she would never be happy even if she married him in an unhealthy codependent state, Sakurako finally came to her senses and, after secretly returning the engagement ring in Sebastian's bag after the graduation ceremony, disappeared without saying anything to him. Sakurako then went to Japan and spent her days learning about Japanese native magic, which she had long been interested in. However, after about a year, she is discovered by Sebastian. After Sebastian apologises for how selfish he had been, he asks Sakurako to marry him again. After a few days of deliberation and discussion with Sebastian, Sakurako accepts his engagement with a smile.
Tumblr media
(This is an Illustration I drew for a previous Twitter post introducing the MC's image song) Afterwards, Sakurako returned to Britain and officially married Sebastian, giving birth to their first daughter the following year, and then to male and female twins the year after that.
About the death of Sakurako Sakurako became Unspeakable of the Department of Mysteries shortly after returning to Britain. https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Department_of_Mysteries#Early_history It is official canon in the Wizarding World that the Department of Mysteries conducted time travel experiments in the 1890s and then had a serious time accident in 1899. I have built on this canon to create a head canon in which Sakurako dies in 1899.
Ever since the tragedy of 1890, Sakurako had been harbouring a wish to 'go back in time and do it all over again so that Sebastian would not make the same mistakes'. Then, she is asked by the other Unspeakables to help them with a time travel experiment using her ancient magical powers. She understands that it is a dangerous experiment, but with a strong desire to redo the past, she accepts the request and takes part in the experiment.
Then one day in 1899, Sakurako was involved in a time accident with Madam Mintumble and her existence was lost. The Department of Mysteries determined that she had died in the chasm of time.
Tumblr media
When Sebastian heard the news of his wife's death, he despaired violently, but had no time to grieve as he had the three young children Sakurako had left behind to look after. He vowed to raise them well on his own. After his wife's death, Sebastian, who had been active in the outside world as an Auror, moved inside work and, after the twins entered Hogwarts, became a Professor of Charm, watching over his precious children as they grew up.
The consequences for Sebastian and Sakurako I consider an even more specific headcanon for Sakurako: 'She survived only her soul by the power of an ancient magic, losing her memory and trapped in an endless loop of time'.
Tumblr media
She loses her memory but somehow survives with only her soul and travels back in time to 1890 with only her soul for her obsessive wish to 'start all over again for Sebastian'. But because she has lost her memory, she ends up repeating the same mistakes and is unable to save Sebastian, despairing and wishing to 'start all over' again. Trapped in the Ouroboros circle of time and tormented by eternal guilt… is the headcanon about her. (I love novels and movies about time leaps and infinite loops… 😳) But I also have two possible outcomes when she is able to escape the endless loop. The first is route A. If Sakurako is able to time leap without losing her memories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I like Butterfly Effect soooooo much!!!!!!!!) During that fateful encounter with Sebastian at DADA on her first day of transfer, when he spoke to her after class, she rejected him and said terrible things to him. Sakurako thinks that that tragedy happens because she and Sebastian have become friends, so she tries to save him by making Sebastian hate her… and so the ending goes.
And Route B. If by the power of love she accidentally escapes from the infinite loop and travels back in time to a world 100 years later. (Never mind the details. The power of love is powerful in the Wizarding World, right?)
Tumblr media
She is miraculously reunited with Sebastian, who has been surviving and waiting for her return for all of a hundred years… and that is the ending. Having fulfilled his purpose in life, Sebastian soon dies, and Sakurako's soul, weakened by multiple time slips, also ascends.
In any case, Sebastian and Sakurako do not end up completely happy… which is my preference. I love tragic love stories 😂 But it's nice to see these tragic couples having fun in extra episodes and so on!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The drawing on the left is part of a cartoon I drew when the Sebastian T-shirt was decided to be launched. The drawing on the right is a parody/trace of a meme that used to be popular in Japan)
These are my headcanons on Sebastian and Sakurako! I'm honestly embarrassed to reveal my brain fantasies 😳. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this long post! 😭💓 The following are the Japanese versions!

Mudwing Headcanons
I think about them too much. My favorite tribe. Some of these are dumb.
- Mudwing sibling troops often have ‘family names’ that are often just the name of the bigwings. Yes, this means bigwings have a “Mario Mario” type situation going on. The main exception to this are royal mudwings, which often have a last name relating to some virtue they embody that makes them ‘better’ than lower-class mudwings
- Mudwing eggs start out porous and sticky and harden over the course of about half an hour. This ‘glues’ eggs of the same clutch together, making it hard to separate them.
- Separating an egg from it’s clutch is extremely taboo in mudwing society, because it’s robbing that dragon of their troop and vise versa. This is also hard to do after the eggs have glued themselves together, and can often kill the eggs in question.
- Because of the different in clutch sizes (Mudwing clutches seem to average at least 6, normal clutches are 1-2, maybe 3) Mudwing hybrids are often unsibs by default, if raised in mudwing society. It’s not a uncommon practice to ‘plant’ these eggs into another clutch (or split between multiple clutches) so that they won’t be alone. Troops will treat this ‘cuckoo’ sibling like any other, but may receive scorn from other mudwings
- Only-child mudwings are considered cursed by other mudwings, and naturally assumed to be violent, amoral, and/or unsympathetic, or things of that nature. This can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
- Typically, mudwing dragonets are taught by mainly older dragonets, rather than grown dragons. Sometimes ‘seedling villages’ will occur, where younger dragons will start their own village rather than joining with a pre-existing one. These have varying success.
- Relating to this, ‘respect your elders’ isn’t really a thing in mudwing society. They DO care for those too old to care for themselves, obviously, but respect purely on the basis of age is not a thing.
- Farming is a huge thing in mudwing society, with produce making up most of their exports. Rice is a major crop, and most mudwing dishes feature rice. Pigs and goats are the most common livestock. Cows are high-valued but only do well in the grasslands and are thus more uncommon. Chickens and Waterfowl aren’t considered ‘worth it’ to farm by many due to their size, but are often favored by young troops. It also isn’t uncommon for villages to have half-feral flocks of birds that are picked at as needed.
- Contrary to popular belief, The Diamond Spray Delta is a huge centre of farming activity and therefore population. It got it’s reputation from traders who were disdainful of ‘low-born’ farmers, and the fact it fell into disarray during the war, when many farmers were unable to tend to their crops.
- Blood-red eggs aren’t genetic, but rather caused by an egg reacting to certain factors both inside and outside of the womb. Curiously, it is extremely uncommon for multiple blood-red eggs to occur in a single clutch.

Wait a minute, but does Bane actually do anything himself?
Myrkul brings Isobel back, that's why he has Ketheric's loyalty.
Bhaal creates children he uses as tools, even after his own death (i.e. Durge being sculpted of the slice of Bhaal's dead flesh).
But what does Bane do? How is he enforcing his success? Gortash only became Chosen AFTER the heist with the crown, though he was a banite before that. But what did Bane actually OFFER Gortash? Durge and Orin are compelled to do their father's biddings, and Myrkul gave Ketheric his daughter back.
But Gortash was mildly successful smuggler and weapons-trader 10 years prior the game. He was connected enough to contact Zariel and deal with her. The weapons banites use are made out of infernal steel, those are the weapons Gortash very likely commissioned from Franc.
He approached a bhaalspawn and created a completely insane plan to STEAL FROM ARCHDEVIL. Steal the thing of unimaginable power. And the plan was successful.
And only then Bane came to him in his dreams and made him Chosen.
So either Gortash lies in his memoir to make himself took cooler, or auntie Ethel is right and Bane IS the laziest tyrant who just rides on other people's success. Like his entire cult with Enver on top work their asses off for this plan, create the Steel Watch, manage the Iron Throne, firework refugees, and Bane just sits on his throne and does nothing.
Bane is literally an embodiment of capitalism. Fucking CEO of Worldwide company. Making others do all the work while chilling on the bg.
And its not like they needed gods to back netherstones up, a godless durge/tav themselves is more than capable of wielding the stones. Why the fuck Bane is literally "go girl give us nothing"? Why did Gortash NEED Bane, he could've pulled the plan without him. He had Elder Brain under the Moonrise Towers, the crown, his connections and money, he didn't need Bane to create Steelwatch or control people, the entire Absolute idea is about becoming gods themselves through control of the Elder Brain.
Was Bane just THAT convincing? And I'm really curious about how Gortash became banite in the first place. Like I see how the rhetoric would be appealing to him, but he really doesn't strike me as a faithful servant of a god type of a guy.

Sometimes you take an edible and write porn. Sometimes you take an edible, fall down a hole researching the Alhambra Decree and the War of the Spanish Succession, and actually write out the history of your Ruritarian romance novel’s fake country.
It actually fits together remarkably well, which is probably because I kept it really vague to begin with. Based on what’s in the books so far, as of the 15th century, we had two countries, Askaz (culturally very French) and Shivadlakia (culturally somewhat Slavic, also heavily Italian-influenced). Presume that they’re in a bit of a geographical “gully” so they’re not remote but they are a bit hard to get to; imagine that the Alps split, and between the two alpine ranges, you’ve got a pair of small countries that are just a pain in the ass to get to and not particularly rich in resources once there. The best way to access Shivadlakia is by boat, and the best way to get to Askaz is through Shivadlakia, which obviously creates some issues for the Askazers.
Now, in the 16th century you get the persecution of Jews really ramping up all over Europe but especially in Italy and Spain. The Alhambra Decree in 1492 starts expelling Jews from Spain, and some of them end up in Shivadlakia. These are primarily Sephardic Jews -- Georgie is descended from Sephardic Jews who arrived from Spain, for example.
Jews in Italy hear that there’s this small country quite nearby that’s taking in persecuted Jews from Spain, probably via Jewish traders who are sailing from the Shivadh port to Italy to do business. And the Shivadh, who were basically farmers until all these cool Spanish Jews showed up, are like “Well, this seems baller to me, they’re buying stuff and opening schools and they’re very quiet neighbors, let’s roll with it.”
So as of 1600, you have roughly three generations of Jews who have settled in Shivadlakia, married the locals, and started spreading into Askaz, since they’re a major trading partner. The countries are still separate, but in 1602 our hero GILLES ROMAN Y ASKAZ is born.
Round about 1625 or so, Gilles Roman y Askaz, ruler of Askaz, meets a pair of siblings, a prince and princess of Shivadlakia. He’s already been trying to figure out how to either conquer or treaty with Shivadlakia, since they have the port and he needs a port. He gets into a fight with them over a possibly-poached deer and falls in love with someone -- purportedly the princess, possibly the prince, depends on how you read it. In any case, he marries the princess and keeps the prince as a very close advisor, uniting the two countries. Sometime thereafter, he grants a dukedom to the prince, creating the Duchy of Shivadlakia, which at that point extends well into what later would become Galia. (This is Jerry’s 9x great-grandfather; one of Gilles’ children with the princess is the ancestor of Alanna and Miranda.)
All goes swimmingly until after Gilles dies; there’s a strong line of succession and the Dukes of Shivadlakia are extremely loyal to the crown. Between the royals and nobility they hold the place together remarkably well until the early 1700s, during the War of the Spanish Succession. The British weren’t super invested in this war but they were invested in stabilizing Europe, so at this point the British sent a fuckton of soldiers, mostly Welsh, into Askazer-Shivadlakia as an access point for both France and Italy. The Shivadh, who don’t have a navy and weren’t expecting a fuckton of Welsh soldiers to show up and threaten their fishing fleet, rolled their eyes and got on with making cheese, but they were forced to learn/speak English by the soldiers. The occupation wasn’t centuries long, but it was long enough for the Welsh soldiers to realize that Askazer-Shivadlakia is very like Wales only with way nicer weather and more gay, so they stayed and intermarried too, which is why everyone speaks a) English with b) a Welsh accent.
When the Shivadh finally lose patience and officially expel English rule, it’s been a short enough time that the royal family just kind of...took a breather for a generation or two, but now they’re BACK and IN CHARGE. (Sometime in here -- probably after the Welsh Invasion, but not by much -- Queen Alekha deposes the king who suborned her husband’s infidelity, beheads him, and takes the throne. She eventually marries a minor royal in order to establish legitimacy for herself.) Anyway, that’s basically how it remains until 1914, when Gregory II is crowned king.
Gregory II gets them through WWI without too much suffering, and decides -- having seen what’s going on in Russia and a couple of other key countries -- to democratize the country. He is re-crowned as the first democratically elected life-term king, and also manages to get the country through WWII, mainly by 1) sending everyone he possibly could somewhere way safer for Jews than Europe and 2) opening his country to the Allies, primarily by sheltering and supporting Allied spies and small raiding parties. This also introduces an entirely new industry to Askazer-Shivadlakia: every Allied spymaster is now aware that they are a quiet, discreet place to have A Meeting That Never Happened, and they become something of a hub for backroom diplomacy.
Gregory II passes in 1952, his son Nathan IV is elected, and Nathan is such a fucking disaster that within two years Jason Michaelis, the son of Greek immigrants to Askazer-Shivadlakia, uses his considerable wealth and political clout to oust Nathan and get himself elected. He rules until 1981, when his son Michaelis ben Jason, married to the many-greats granddaughter of Gilles Roman y Askaz, is elected.
The rest is Romance. :D

Harrison vs Victor
Event Story
Part 3- Victor's ending
*The translation are not guaranteed to be entirely accurate, so expect some errors
Tumblr media
Harrison & Victor: "Come on, let's check the answers."
Victor: "I'd like to get excited, but you're better at deduction. I'll leave it to you, Harrison."
At Victor's call, Harrison response with a look then open his mouth.
Harrison: "At first, we thought you were in charge of distribution. I guessed that there was some kind of evil behind it."
"...However, there was nothing suspicious about the conversation that was taking place in this mansion."
"That's why, we have to ask why you bought all the chocolates."
Brown: "Well, that's because it's to treat the people who visited the mansion today! There's nothing unnatural about it, right?!"
Harrison: "Yes, it’s a lie."
Brown: "What...!"
Harrison flatly dismisses the claim. Mr. Brown's nose turned white.
Harrison: "There are two clues here."
"The fact that you only allowed men into this mansion. And how you reacted when you found out there was a woman."
"It was obvious to everyone that your face turned red like an octopus."
As if to add to Harrison's reasoning,Victor opens his mouth.
Victor: "If you had malicious intent, you could have taken all of England's chocolate."
"After all, you are a talented trader who is the president of a company that got recognized by everyone around you.''
"But you didn't do that. That's because you added some extra effort... . Am I wrong?"
(Not only was he not complicit in any criminal activity, but he also did not completely obstruct distribution and did his best to cut corners...)
*corners: control (a market) by dominating the supplies of a particular commodity.
(When it comes to work-related matters, you don't go easy on things. )
(In other words, this commotion is-... completely personal?)
Brown: "It doesn't have to do with you guys, you're opinion doesn't matter "
Mr. Brown seemed to have come to terms with this, as he began to speak in a slurred manner, like rain falling under the leaves.
Since childhood, he has been physically weak and has lived a life without relationships with women or love.
When you grow up and become physically strong, you can work and become successful... .
However, when it comes time to start dating a woman he couldn't speak well.
Valentine's Day without being able to find a lover he have lived a life where he have only been looking at people sideways.
sideways: looking people with deceitful and scornful
Brown: " ...That's why I was trying to vent my jealousy by stealing chocolate from a specialty store."
"Isn’t this a tough treat for people who want to prepare special chocolates for Valentine’s Day?"
(It made sense that only specialty stores and their affiliated stores were affected.)
Brown: "You can just laugh at how silly it is. You guys have no idea how I feel."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Victor: "Oh, I don’t know. You and we a different person."
(...... Victor?)
I was surprised by his words, which were uncharacteristic of him.
But as soon as I saw the calm look on Victor's face, I realized that that wasn't the only thing he wanted to say.
Victor: "But we can imagine your pain."
"I can imagine the feelings that are in the corner of your heart that I cannot understand."
"...You must have been lonely."
Brown: "..U..U.." *croaking voice*
"Uwa...!" *he's crying*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harrison: "Hey, you… hugging Victor. Are you ok ?"
Victor: "Ahaha, I don't mind. You're always welcome in my chest."
"It's okay, I'm sure you'll meet a girl who will cherish you someday."
After Brown stopped crying, this time we apologizing for the uproar, he declared that he would try his best again.
He promised to stop the hoarding of chocolate and hampering logistics.
Victor: "Harry showed me a brilliant deduction, so it looks like I've lost the game."
Victor laughs and quickly leaves the place.
Kate: "....Viktor!"
I hurriedly chased after him, trying not to lose sight of his back, which seemed to disappear into the pitch black.
Viktor: "Kate…what happened? The case was solved."
Kate: "Um, Harry told me this earlier."
Flash back
Harrison: "Kate, that guy, it seems he's telling 1 more lie again"
After Victor admits defeat,Harry spoke before he was out of sight.
Kate: "....Viktor lied?"
Harrison: "Ever since we set foot in this mansion, his two eyes were always chasing something else."
"He must be pursuing some other case at the same time, separate from the Brown case."
"He was the one who found out the truth of the incident first. In other words, the game is my loss."
Harry said that, looking into my face and he grinned.
Tumblr media
Harrison: "On your next holiday, let's invite Liam to eat something sweet or anything"
Kate: "Eh?"
Harrison: "Even if I can't get it from you, it doesn't matter if I give it to you. See you then."
End of flash back
Kate: "- So it's like that"
Tumblr media
Viktor: "As expected of Harrison...that kid has become an adult."
(So, what Harry said was true after all.)
Harry's insight is obvious,/ Not to mention Harry's insight,
but... I was surprised at Victor's depth as he tried not to let me realize this.
And to myself, who had followed Victor without any hesitation after learning from Harry.
(Why did I want to go after Victor in the first place?)
Viktor: "Kate"
Kate: "Ye, yes."
Viktor: "Did you approach me because Harrison told you to? Or was it you?"
Just like when I showed my reasoning to Mr. Brown,
I feel like Victor knows my heart, even if I don't say it in clear words, and my heart skips a beat.
Kate: "it is..."
Viktor: "We'll check the answers after we've solved the problem. Come, Kate "
Kate: “Y-yes…!"
Sharing with me the incident you were following behind the scenes is making me happy.
Besides, I felt like I had saved my life by not being investigated any further as to why I had followed him.
Victor was chasing someone behind the scenes. It was a trading company that secretly traded illegal cannabis.
The people reportedly tried to contact Brown in order to take advantage of him.
And that night. The company was plunged into darkness by Victor, and I made sure to record his actions.
Later, Mr. Brown sent me a large amount of chocolate ingredients as an apology.
Using those materials, Victor and I are making chocolate cake together.
Tumblr media
Viktor: "You want the inside to be moist!"
Kate: "Yes, please be careful about the baking time,Victor."
While the two of us are making something to everyone at Crown-
I secretly making 1 big chocolate cake.
Of course, I'm happily making sweets next door. The purpose is to give it to someone who is working on it.
Viktor: "Is there something wrong?"
Kate: "N-no. It's nothing."
I panics and avert my glance from Viktor, thinking he's been staring at me too long.
-When I was asked why I chased after Victor that day, I was shocked.
However, as if Victor had forgotten that day, he never bothered to asked me again.
(Maybe this is a good thing.)
(I didn't know what to answer from)
I was inwardly(secretly) relieved to be back to normal life.
Kate: "...That's right, Viktor . There is one question i would like to ask of you"
Viktor: "Yeah, what is it?"
Kate: "That day, you challenged Harry to a match. Isn't that intentional?"
Viktor: "What made you think that?"
Kate: "In the first place, Viktor really like Harry"
"I don't think you would ask for a fight for no reason."
"Also, as a fairy taler, when I'm writing a report.Then I realized..."
"Victor regularly works with the Crown's and has the opportunities to observe them one by one."
Viktor: "And so this case is a great opportunity?"
Kate: "Yes"
Viktor: "Kate, you now know how think by yourself."
"Half the answer is correct. But half of the answer is incorrect."
Kate: "Eh"
Viktor: "As you said, the reason I offered the fight was to observe Harrison."
"The other half of the answer is that I've already given to you"
I thought about Viktor's words, but I can't find the answer.
I don't have the talent for reasoning like the two of them do.
Kate: "I am sorry, I do not understand,Victor"
Viktor: "I do, Kate"
"I wanted some chocolate from you. Even if I took it from Harrison."
(Ah...)
Victor took a step closer to me.
Viktor: "Kate. Then I already answer, what would you do?"
"That day, you followed me,was it because Harrison told you to? Or was it you yourself?
"Is this your own intention?"

Amazons
Amazons, Warrior Women Games, 2006
As one would expect, you play Amazons in this game - women from out of Greek myth.* You're warriors, hunters, scouts, sailors, and sages. There's only one supernatural power involved (which I'll get into later), so no witches or demigods or anything.
Your characters are defined by a fairly standard set of attributes and skills - Strength, Agility, Wisdom, Spear, Archery, Stealth, etc. All of them are done with a pyramidal cost scheme. As a result, it's easy to build a group where your characters overlap too much. It costs the same number of points to buy a 10-point skill (rolling 1d10x10) as it does to buy two skills at 8 and 6 (1d10x8 and 1d10x6), and the 8 and 6 are generally high enough to hit the typical target numbers. I think what I'm trying to say is that the game could really use a better approach to handling character archetypes, both for flavor purposes and for niche protection.
As mentioned, the game uses multiplication, which you'll either be fine with or will really bother you. Since it's dice-times-stat instead of dice-times-dice, the probability distribution is fairly flat, and you don't have weird statistics stuff going on. You do get margin-of-success effects from rolling higher, but you don't actually have to do two-digit subtraction. Instead, you get one "rank" of success for every point by which the tens place in your result is higher than the tens in your opponent's result. You roll a 25 and they have a 48? They have a rank-2 success. Same if you roll a 28 and they have a 40. Ranks get you damage, but also duration and effectiveness for other types of roll. It's a little weird at low values - a 12 and an 18 get you a tie even though one is 50% higher than the other - but it works well for higher values.
The particularly cool part of the game is that you play in two time periods simultaneously: ancient Greece and modern-day Athens. Your characters went "through" the Oracle at Delphi (is that how that works??) and are experiencing parallel events. When they run into a businessman in the modern day, they meet a merchant in ancient Greece. A Spartan warrior might become a rich but violent criminal. They see both things happening at once, and the GM is encouraged to mix the two in their descriptions. Philosophers arguing in the shadow of concrete and steel. Ocean liners passing by sailing vessels. It's an interesting conceit, and it gives you some cool ways to solve problems in one time by approaching them i the other.
Typical antagonists are "cruel people in positions of power" - slavers, price-gouging traders, sadistic princes, petty senators, etc. Several examples are statted up, along with their entourages. There isn't much discussion of what the backlash is going to be from your characters going after those people and their well-trained bodyguards. Like a lot of this game, the surface level is presented and any implications are left to the GM and their table.
As we leave this review, it may be interesting to know that Warrior Women Games was two cis men in their twenties. The game is written with respect, but without personal experience. There's no major misogyny here, no particular fetishization or anti-feminist rhetoric involved. There's also no real punch to the fact that you're actually playing women. On the one hand - awesome! The game treats your women characters just like it would treat men characters. Straight-up equality. On the other hand, there's a missed opportunity to dig into how your ancient women experience the modern world. There's no discussion of what has changed and what has not since the (admittedly fictional*) time of the Amazons. I think a game written by someone able to delve into that experience more might be more compelling. But I'll at least give it credit for not having fallen into a number of traps that plague other men-written-women-centric games. You're not going to cringe reading this.
*Edit to add, March 2024: Maybe the Amazons are not as fictional as I thought! https://www.theguardian.com/science/2024/mar/24/truth-behind-the-myths-amazon-warrior-women-of-greek-legend-may-really-have-existed

Since Indonesia’s bloody anti-communist purge in the 1960s, politics in the archipelago nation have largely been dominated by centre-right forces. But a newly formed leftist party believes it can garner enough popular support to start changing that.
At a press conference in Jakarta on January 3, Indonesia’s Labour Party (Partai Buruh) chief Said Iqbal said his party’s electability was on the rise in the lead-up to the February 14 general election.
Said, who is also president of Indonesia’s Trade Unions Confederation, cited a recent survey by pollster Risetindo Barometer as evidence for his claim.
“An independent survey was conducted in 18 cities involving 1,200 respondents, and found 67.8 per cent of workers or 3,390,000 voters, both unionised and non-unionised, planned to vote for the PB,” he said. Said pointed out that the figure would correspond to 2.3 per cent of Indonesia’s total number of eligible voters. “This means we only have 1.7 per cent to go before crossing the 4 per cent parliamentary threshold to make it into the House of Representatives (DPR).”[...]
“PB [could] be the first centre-left party to accomplish this feat. Its success in qualifying for the election was in itself remarkable, given that another centre-left party, Prima, didn’t,” [...]
In 2020, President Joko Widodo signed the Omnibus Law aimed at easing business by cutting red tape. But unions and labour activists branded the legislation as a major setback for labour rights and protections. Some controversial clauses include reductions in the size of severance pay and paid leave. Activists also claim the law provides employers with new loopholes to deny workers permanent work status and other benefits.[...]
“Our party has decided not to back any of the three presidential candidates because our condition for support was a signed political contract spelling out the respective candidate’s commitment to revise the Omnibus Law,” he said.
None of the candidates agreed to do so, he said[...]
uruddin said his party’s strategy revolved around “real issues affecting people’s livelihoods” which have been neglected by the more established parties, citing the government-managed universal healthcare system (BPJS) as an example.
“While the BPJS seeks to cover the healthcare of all Indonesians, in reality around 20 per cent of the population is unable to access it, largely because they can’t afford the monthly dues,” he said.
Nuruddin said that at the city level in Surabaya, he had started lobbying officials to provide subsidies for poor residents – including itinerant construction workers, vagabonds and small traders – so that they could be covered under the scheme.
He said the PB had instigated a new mechanism in Indonesia’s electoral process known as “constituent recall”, under which voters could demand the removal of their representative if he or she were deemed to be in serious breach of voter aspirations.

The “Light of Kshahrewar”
Surely in the many years since the establishment of the Akademiya there had been another, some highly honored scholar whose exploits had shone brilliantly, yet there was only one who burned ever brightly in your mind. He was your senior, a spring overflowing with his passion for architecture. He was an open book to be read, much too kind for a world as cutthroat as that that existed within the walls of the Akademiya.
It was hard to fathom why he took such a liking to you, your own academic achievements were far below anything resembling that of the “Light”. You were middle of the ground in nearly all aspects, but he seemed to be more stubbornly pushing for your greatness than even you were. Extra hours studying, discussing plans, early morning lectures survived only by an outrageous dose of coffee and the furious motion of your pens across notebooks making more changes to things already perfected.
You had questioned if he was making you into a project, always seeming a little miffed at your refusal to add your own dramatic flair to any designs you created, and your suspicions had been confirmed when he brought you in to collaborate on a final project. Just as quickly as you had agreed he had a slung an arm over your shoulders and pushed a blueprint into your hands.
“Alright my precious Junior, I want you to make this project yours.” Kaveh explained, passing another smaller paper into your hands. It was the details of the clients requesting the design, a newly married couple with the bride having to leave her homeland of Liyue to move to Sumeru.
You immediately understood why he had chosen you to help, shooting the blond and accusatory look. You, who had been ever resistant, were born to a traveling band of traders that bounced between the two nations. If anyone could fuse the two styles of architecture and design it would be you.
So you put aside your own hesitations of standing out too dramatically, and created a design so surprising that even your instructors had began to wonder if they had become so lucky that they may have produced two excellent students back to back. The centerpiece of your design had been the point of your pride, a traditionally woven cut-silk tapestry presented to the wife as a reminder of her old home and the promise of a new one. Kaveh graduated out feeling pleased that he had worn you down and cracked your shell of hesitancy, pushing you on your own path to success, and you?
Well you— who had been the only underclassman to receive his praise and personal support—had dropped out.
There was no devastating story behind it, no villainous plot. There was just you, chasing something you were told to chase until you realized that maybe such a high level of education was not suited for you. Your family had traveled the mountains between Sumeru and Liyue for many years. It wasn’t a cushy life but it had freedom. Living a life behind a desk seemed more and more like a death sentence than an opportunity for greatness, and just as easily as you had integrated into your Darshan you slipped back out and disappeared into the jungles surrounding Sumeru City.
It had been years since you turned your back on the Akademiya, years since you had seen Kaveh, and yet his visage seemed imprinted on your brain. The warm look in his eyes, that dramatic lilt so trademark of his voice. He was a blinding light, and you were content with living in his shadow.
It felt like some act of fate that crossed your paths again. You were traveling back towards Sumeru City and passed along the one of the trails bordering the building site for what was said to be the Palace of Alcazarzaray. Even half-built it was shaping up to be magnificent, and maybe you shouldn’t have been so surprised to find your former senior overlooking the site with a critical eye.
He seemed stressed, hair tousled from anxious hands running through it. You could see the sweat beading on his fair skin, the humidity of the day slowly boiling everything beneath the cover of the foliage.
“Kaveh?”
He seemed startled by your voice, locked so deeply in his own concentration that he had failed to notice your approach. His head turned quickly towards you, not fully prepared to see a vision of years passed. The look of shock in his eyes couldn’t hide that flash of sadness and guilt. It was like looking in the eyes of a kicked puppy. You felt your stomach twist uncomfortably, shying away as you turned quickly to leave.
“You seem busy, we can catch up another time—,”
“(y/n), hold on!”
Ink-stained fingers encircled your wrist, halting your movement. His hands felt warm and sticky from the humidity, and he seemed aware of this himself as he released your wrist and wiped his hands off on his pants as well as he could.
A silence had fallen between the two of you, unsure of what to say. Where do you even begin, talking about the weather, why you left, what you are doing back in the area? He seemed to be floundering as well, the great social butterfly reduced to a heap of uncertainty as he opened his mouth once, twice to speak before quickly closing it back being unable to form the right words.
“Listen, (y/n), I’m sorry if I put you in an uncomfortable place. I—didn’t mean to push you so hard to stand out, I just knew you could do something big and thought you needed the extra push—“
So that was why his eyes had looked at you so sadly, he had overthought your leaving of the Akademiya. You cut him off before he could finish.
“I didn’t leave because of you, you dolt.”
You could almost see the gears turning in his head as he processed your words. Multiple times in his past people had pushed him aside and left without another word, abandonment breeding self contempt as a cause for why it kept happening.
“What? Why else would you—?”
“I just didn’t like school that much.” You replied with a shrug, as if it was the most natural response in the world. “I do feel a little bad that you thought it was something you did though. Had we been in the same year I may have stayed because of you.” You sheepishly added, feeling your own guilt bubbling up that you had left without giving him even the semblance of a proper goodbye.
You thought little of the implications of your words, failing to notice the tinge of pink that flushed his cheeks. Time and close contact did much to bring people closer together, and all the time you had spent side by side in school had certainly left a mark of fondness on his heart just for you. But that you would have stayed?
Just as he opened his mouth to begin a barrage of inevitable questions, the distant call of his name floated up from the jobsite. You took a step back, readjusting the pack over your shoulders. “You better go find out what they need, Mr. Master Architect.” You said with a grin.
Torn between pursuing something once lost and maintaining his duty, Kaveh let out a defeated sigh as he nodded. “(y/n), please, wait for me. Wait for me at Lambad’s at, er, say seven tonight?” His tone was pleading, not prepared to have found you again and just let you slip through his fingers like the desert sands.
You smiled warmly. “I’ll wait.”
That was how you had reconnected, a bond reinforced by a night of catching up over drinks and the inevitable shedding of tears from the blond who wore his heart so freely on his sleeve. You had half carried him home and promised once more that you wouldn’t vanish off into the night like you had in the past, a promise that you had kept in the months since.
Fall shifted to Winter, giving way to Spring before the burning face of Summer settled over the Land of Wisdom once more. You had been kept busy with your travels, with tending to your relationship with Kaveh which had slowly shifted from simply platonic to more of the realm of “it’s complicated”. Oh, and the fact that you had been working diligently to keep a certain someone’s birthday gift under wraps.
You had been working on it for nearly a year now, not having the time to properly devote to a project of the caliber you decided was worth the effort for him. The loom stood well above your head, a weaving of colorful knots slowly descending its height as a pattern only you had envisioned began to take shape. In spite of all your refusals that your work was worth any weight, even you had to admit that the mohtasham pattern now completed before your eyes was magnificent.
And apparently Kaveh agreed if the low whistle of impressment that met your ears meant anything.
“I didn’t know you were still hand looming. Guess that explains why your fingers have felt a little rougher than usual.” He said, admiring your work as you rose to greet him.
“I’m not really back into it, this one is more of a personal project.” You countered, hands raising to lightly pinch his cheeks. “And I will have you know my hands aren’t rough.”
He hummed, rose colored eyes sparkling as he caught one of your hands before it pulled away. He pressed a kiss to your palm, his warm breath tickling your skin. “As smooth as sandpaper.” He grinned as your nose wrinkled.
“Well since you are here I guess I have no choice but to put you to work, yeah? Come help me get this rug down so I can finish it.” You pulled a short stool to aid your work, cutting away the warps and allowing it to fall away from the loom into the waiting hands of your companion who watched with great curiosity.
It wasn’t too surprising that he was taking his assistance very seriously. He was an appreciator of the arts, holding an eye for quality and the finest details of construction. You were a craftsman easy on the eyes, lithe fingers dancing across neatly knotted silk patterns and stitching up loose ends with the slightest quirk of your lips and furrow to your brow of concentration. You could feel the shift of his eyes both from your fingers to your face as you worked, a slight burn building in your ears from the attention that you tried to push through as you finished your work.
With a pleased hum you lifted the final hem, examining your work. “Yes, I think this will do.” Giving a half turn and a flourish of your arms the material of the rug snapped out and floated to the floor, quickly rolled up and secured in your hands. You plucked it from the floor, holding it gingerly to your chest.
“I had a plan of how I was going to do this but I suppose that was out the window when you got here earlier than I had anticipated.” You began, extending your arms and the freshly finished rug out to him.
“Happy birthday, Kaveh.”
He looked dumbfounded for a moment, rose colored eyes darting quickly between the gift in your hands and your face before he slowly pointed at the rug.
“You made that for me?”
You nodded. “Yup, took me a few months to do it but for you I think it was time well spent.”
Stricken with the importance of the gift he was now on the receiving end of, he seemed to short circuit for a moment before he accepted the rug into his own hands. “I’ve never been given something like this. (y/n), this is too much—,”
You let out a dramatic sigh, propping a hand on your hip. “Weren’t you the one pestering me to use my gift and make my designs stand out? Here I am doing that now and you are going to tell me it’s too much? I think that ‘light’ burning in your brain has cooked it a bit too long, you are supposed to say “Wow (y/n), thank you I love it so much!’” You teased, enjoying the slight contortion of his face at the attitude you were giving so playfully.
He raised a defensive hand. “Easy tiger, coming after me rather hard on my birthday now aren’t you?” He beckoned you closer, effectively snatching you into a tight hug squished somewhere between his warm body at the rug cradled in his other arm.
He pressed a short kiss to the crown of your head, your stomach flipping as the snort of a giggle escaped your throat. “Thank you (y/n),” he began, mocking the tone you had previously used against him, “I love your gift and I love you.”
He winced as you gave his side a firm slap with the flat of your hand, wrestling out from his grip. “I think I’m going to need dinner before you start in on the ‘I love you’ business.” You said with a grin, drawing him up and out the door behind you.

Mastering forex signals for trend following: a comprehensive guide
The foreign exchange market, or Forex, is a dynamic and ever-changing arena where traders seek to capitalize on currency price movements. One popular trading strategy is trend following, which involves identifying and following the prevailing market direction. Forex signals play a crucial role in assisting traders to navigate the complexities of trend following. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the intricacies of Forex signals for trend following, helping you understand how to leverage them effectively for successful trading.
Tumblr media
Understanding Trend Following
Trend following is a strategy that seeks to capitalize on the directionality of market prices. The basic premise is simple: identify the prevailing trend and place trades in the same direction. Trends can be upward (bullish), downward (bearish), or sideways (range-bound). Successful trend following involves entering a trade at the beginning of a trend and exiting when the trend shows signs of reversal.
The Role of Forex Signals
Forex signals serve as triggers for traders, indicating opportune moments to enter or exit a trade. These signals are generated through a thorough analysis of market data, including technical indicators, fundamental factors, and sometimes a combination of both. For trend following, signals become particularly crucial as they guide traders on when to jump on a trend and when to step aside.
Key Components of Forex Signals for Trend Following
1. Technical Indicators:
Moving Averages: These are fundamental tools in trend following. A moving average smoothens price data to create a single flowing line. Traders often look for crossovers, where short-term moving averages cross above long-term ones, as a signal to enter a trade.
Relative Strength Index (RSI): RSI measures the speed and change of price movements. A high RSI may indicate overbought conditions, suggesting a potential reversal, while a low RSI may indicate oversold conditions, signaling a potential buying opportunity.
Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD): MACD is a trend-following momentum indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages of a security’s price.
2. Fundamental Analysis:
While trend following is predominantly a technical strategy, incorporating fundamental analysis can enhance the accuracy of signals. Economic indicators, interest rates, and geopolitical events can significantly impact currency trends.
3. Price Action:
Pure price action analysis involves studying the historical price movements of a currency pair. Identifying patterns, such as higher highs and higher lows in an uptrend, can provide strong signals for trend following.
Choosing a Reliable Signal Provider
With the plethora of signal providers available, it's essential to choose a reliable one. Consider the following factors:
Track Record: A provider's historical performance is a crucial indicator of their reliability. Look for providers with a consistent track record of accurate signals.
Transparency: Transparent signal providers disclose their methods, including the criteria for generating signals and their risk management strategies.
Risk-Reward Ratio: A good signal provider should have a clear risk-reward ratio for each signal, helping you manage your trades effectively.
Implementing Forex Signals for Trend Following
Once you've selected a signal provider or developed a reliable system, the implementation phase is critical. Here are some tips:
Risk Management: Set clear risk parameters for each trade. This includes defining the percentage of your trading capital you're willing to risk on a single trade.
Position Sizing: Adjust the size of your positions based on the strength of the signal and the volatility of the market.
Stay Informed: While signals provide valuable insights, staying informed about broader market trends and events is crucial. Unexpected news can impact the Forex market.
Continuous Evaluation: Regularly assess the performance of your chosen signals and be prepared to adjust your strategy if market conditions change.
Conclusion
Forex signals for trend following can be powerful tools in a trader's arsenal, helping to identify and capitalize on market trends. However, success in Forex trading requires a comprehensive understanding of both the strategy and the market itself. By combining technical indicators, fundamental analysis, and a disciplined approach to risk management, traders can use Forex signals to navigate the complex world of trend following with confidence. Remember, no strategy guarantees success, and ongoing learning and adaptation are essential for long-term success in the Forex market.
