Since AO3 is down and I posted an update to V is for Villain there, I'll post it here for readers who hadn't caught it yet, and I'm almost done with BV:ITS chapter 6 as well, pls anticipate! :D

-TWELVE DAYS LATER-

“Another fucking gala? ANOTHER ONE?!”

“We donate to a lot of people, y/n. It’s to show their gratitude, it would be rude not to attend!”

“No! No no no no-”

“They’re fighting again,” Hoseok groans, putting on headphones.

“I dressed up to go dancing, not another stuffy boring damn gala-”

“They are specifically giving me an award, what am I supposed to do?!”

“-and those teeny tiny food samples, and they make you feel bad when you grab more than one-”

“-and these places always have a few moguls we can target later-”

“-and I get leered at the whole time-”

“It's like watching my parents fight,” Jungkook shivers, hopping to the other corner of the room when all the pillows go flying in his direction in your anger.

“Jungkook!” you both yell out the youngest’s name. “-hop me to the club.” “-hop us to 22nd Avenue.”

“Hop him to North pole!” you point at Taehyung.

“Ehhhhh.” Jungkook decides to leave the country.

You both stare at Yoongi, expecting him to message Jungkook to come back and fix this situation. The tech talker shrinks lower into the couch cushions, using his phone to block his vision, hiding behind the electronic and hoping you’ll both stop bothering him.

Seokjin sighs, hands on his knees as he stands. “Let’s take the car, then,” he mutters.

“You don’t have to do that.”

“Hmm?” you watch Taehyung stand center stage, the event’s coordinator giving him praise as one of the top donors, thankful the city’s mayor is supporting their cause. You applaud along with the rest of the room.

“Hum the tune to Habanera in your head every time you get close to me,” he laughs. “Just live in the moment, y/n.” He stops you, narrowing his eyes on you. “And if you’re trying to keep something from me, like how sexy you think I look in a suit, don’t worry, I’m a gentleman,” he adds, winking. He leaves for a drink before you have time to think of a rebuttal.

You look around bored. Well, now that they are both distracted, you might as well make the most of it.

“Jin told me you would be here,” Taehyung adjusts his hair as the night’s cool breeze picks up.

“Want some?” You hold out a taco, an actual normal sized portion filled with meat and veggies.

“Mayor Kim, nice to meet you!” A cook stands up to shake Taehyung’s hand.

You and the workers on break have created a nice eating area out of crates right in front of the backdoor entrance to the kitchen.

Taehyung dusts off his trousers and sits next to you, surprising the group. He pulls off his jacket and puts it around your shoulders, a sweet gesture but also one that held possessiveness, one that showed how you, like the jacket, were his.

You offer him a bite of your taco and he inhales almost the entire thing, nipping at your fingers. “Yah, not the whole thing!”

“Oh wow, my compliments to the chef.” Taehyung says, mouth still full.

“Thank you, sir!”

You giggle as he puts his thumbs up, something he had a habit of doing on the campaign trail, but by the way he scrunches his eyebrows and chews on his food savoring the flavors, his appreciation is very genuine.

He looks at one of the servers.

“Is that-”

The server’s eyes go wide and he almost drops what’s in his hand.

“Uhhh,” he coughs as smoke burns the back of his throat when he forgets to breathe out.

“Can I have a hit?” Taehyung asks.

The server’s eyes go even wider and he laughs, “hell yeah.”

You giggle, “ I didn’t know you did that, Mr. Mayor.”

“What? My platform is very green,” he smirks, taking a long puff.

He offers you the joint, putting it close to your lips. “No, I shouldn’t. I need a clear head.” You’ve already passed on the initial offer from the server, not sure how your powers would react to something like that. Namjoon never partook in such activities growing up and by extension neither did you. Though, you admit you were curious to see what the fuss was all about.

Taehyung senses your hesitation. “C’mon, you were complaining before how boring these things are.”

You look up to the sky, a lingering thought flying across your mind. “Well, I don’t mind it here. These boys are plenty entertaining,” you tease, looking around the group.

“Just one hit,” he teases.

You laugh, “Yeah?” your eyes narrow on him yet you can’t help but giggle at his words. “...but no, I can’t. I’ve never…” It’s an odd contrast to hear the Mayor dressed in designer saying phrases you would hear back in high school, spoken by teenage boys, the kind Namjoon would always scare away if they ever struck up a conversation with you.

By being around him more you’ve noticed Taehyung can be…cute sometimes. He makes you wonder how different your life would have been like if he had become closer to you sooner.

Taehyung licks his lips, and you can see the gears in his head turning, like he’s weighing different outcomes and choosing the one he finds most pleasing to him. You question what it’s like living in that mind of his, wondering how Jin doesn’t go completely mad.

Taehyung takes another long hit, beckoning you over with a finger. “I really shouldn’t!” you exclaim, but Taehyung is already wrapping his arms around you, pulling your head in, placing his mouth on yours and swiping his tongue over your lips to part them.

You smack him in the chest but relent, opening your mouth as he breathes out smoke. Taehyung keeps your lips locked, his hand holding the back of your head. The small group whistles at the display.

Taehyung pulls you into his lap and your company cheers. He’s clingy. You hate to admit you like it sometimes.

The cook was all too happy to make you some food when you appeared grumpy and annoyed, ready to bolt out the back door of his kitchen. He was familiar with who you were, seeing you and the Mayor in headlines for weeks now, but he was surprised you were so relaxed around him and his staff, you didn’t act beyond reproach like the other guests he’s used to serving.

Then when the Mayor…the Mayor…sat down next to him and asked to take a hit off one of his own server’s joint, well, looks like Taehyung has one new vote secured. He watches as you smack Taehyung in the back of the head, embarrassed by all of the attention, and the way The Mayor seems to shine in it. You make a good couple, he thinks. Suddenly he wants to call his wife.

One of the servers fist bumps the cook as the cook puts his apron back on and excuses himself.

“You’re making everyone uncomfortable,” you mumble, your face on fire and your lips tingling from his kiss.

Taehyung smiles, “So what did you think?”

“I hated it,” you tease. You knew it was smoke but you really hadn’t expected it to be so hot. Your throat still itches. The best thing about it was his kiss, you think, face heating up again.

Eventually the others have to go back to work too, not before going away with Taehyung’s business card and an offer from The Mayor himself that if they ever needed something, anything, to just contact him. It’s one of the things you admire about Taehyung, he’s not just words and empty promises, for better or worse, he makes due on his promises…and on his threats.

You sit in his lap still, leaning into his warmth. “Aren’t you supposed to be inside, getting congratulated on?” you mumble, your head against his cheek.

Taehyung hums, “They’ve got their photos, I can’t see there would be any need for more.” He hugs you tight to him, placing his chin on your shoulder. “I would much rather be here with you.”

Taehyung is...begrudgingly endearing. “And what happened to looking for future targets?”

“Seokjin has got it handled.”

“Ahh.” He sure has everything figured out. It’s infuriating and impressive, but since it’s not directed against you (this time), you can’t really be mad at him about it. You play with the hem of your dress until his fingers find yours.

Unlike a certain somebody, Taehyung has no qualms with intertwining himself around you wholly, exploring and holding you in every way. You don’t want to admit to yourself that you’ve gotten used to his closeness now. His embrace is relaxing, your worries are floating away like bubbles, lifting off your shoulders like butterflies fluttering up to the sky. Wait, is it him or…

“Y/n?”

“Hmm?”

“You’re making us– We’re not– We’re in the air!” Taehyung says, panic evident in his voice. His arms, and now legs, suddenly tight around you.

“Huh? Oh!” You let your bodies float back down, sighing.

Taehyung looks at you incredulously and then sighs too, laughing, pushing your chin back and kissing you softly.

“We should probably go.”

“Is there some place more important you need to be, y/n?” his hands move down your body and you arch into him.

“We can’t.”

“No one can see us.”

“I wish you’d warn me when you do that.”

“They can still hear us, so you’ll have to be quieter.”

It’s impossible to resist Taehyung, especially when he makes you feel so wanted, so cherished. He runs his fingers up the slit of your dress, finding the heat between your legs. “Shh shh.”

He shushes you softly, kissing your check as he grabs your breast, holding you to his chest and fondling you roughly.

“Yo what was that?” the server asks while he lights up another cigarette. The other worker shrugs, pulling out his earbud.

“Be quiet.”

“I can’t,” you whisper, whining. Taehyung kisses you, tongue silencing you. When Taehyung is hidden like this, he always acts more wild in his actions. No one can see if he widens his mouth more than usual, lets his tongue lick across your lips, devours you crazily.

“I need to fuck you. Now,” he grunts in your ear, suddenly sounding so desperate. You nod, your face pressed against his as his actions become rougher.

Fucking in the alley, your leg hiked up over Taehyung’s hip, it didn’t make you feel particularly regal or special, but his need to have you anywhere sent fire through your veins, and had you whimpering against him, drenching his cock in your slick, so wet for him.

When you finally enter back into the gala, you see a few more familiar faces.

“So mom and dad aren’t getting a divorce.” Jungkook says, bounding up to you.

“Shut up before I put you up for adoption.”

“Let’s go dance,” Jungkook says happily, ignoring your threat.

Slow string instruments, not what you had in mind when you said you wanted to go dancing, but you can’t not take Jungkook up on his offer.

“So, get it done?” Taehyung asks Seokjin.

“Yep, his fortune will be ours in no time,” They watch a graying individual down another glass of champagne and put his hands around a woman who is most definitely not his wife.

That adulterous hand belongs to possibly one of the richest men in the city, because he happens to own the most land in the city, and his greedy fingers are currently in a battle over land far outreaching, land that he has no business and no authority to own. Yet, somehow like a parasite, his hands are gripping, infecting more and more, driving up the cost of living, hurting residents, Taehyung’s constituents, and well, a few communities Taehyung has wanted to bring to his side for a while now. He watches Jungkook spin you around as you laugh, your eyes sparkling. You finally look content. He switches his gaze to the parasite, a bug Taehyung intends to squish. Not yet. Taehyung, he understood the importance of timing.

Taehyung cuts in, earning whines from both you and Jungkook, who were having fun showing off in front of the older and stiffer crowd of dancers. “Get your hands off my girl, Jeon.”

Jungkook chortles, rolling his eyes, but relents, hands up in surrender, but not before cheekily kissing you goodbye.

“He’s lucky no one took a photo of that,” Taehyung mutters.

“Jealous,” you smirk.

Taehyung pulls you closer, swaying with you to the chorus. “It will make me look weak if voters think I can’t keep a faithful partner.” He tightens his grip on your hip, “it will hurt my campaign,” he says, tone threatening.

“We can’t have that,” you mutter, looking away. Taehyung spins you, pulling you in even closer. You kiss him, to calm him down. “Now tell me all about this plan of yours I’ve been hearing about.”

“Damn Jungkook.”
