Furina:

the girl who saved fontaine. condemned herself to a life of silent pain and suffering without any warning or preparation. she could confide in no one, seek out help from no one, all while bearing the weight of her entire nation on her shoulders. not only did her willpower save everyone in fontaine, but after the prophecy was averted, she was finally allowed to live a normal life.

Kiana Kaslana:

TLDR: she's kiana kaslana what do you MEAN!!!! kiana is a beautifully written character who fully encapsulates what hi3 is about and she's so full of love and guilt and (most importantly) hope. she's a clone who struggles with her own identity/inhumanity and traumas extending from when she was a young child and her guilt but is so so resilient and so so so so compassionate which ultimately reinforces her humanity :)

kiana's character IS the honkai impact thesis statement. i don't even mean it as in she's the literal main character and face of honkai i genuinely mean it when i say she just IS honkai impact. she reflects every single theme that they portray [hope over nihilism (chapter 25 || the flame chasers and just. the previous era in general), having agency over your identity and your own story (himeko, her being k423 and being so linked to sirin, everlasting flames || the kaslana household name honestly, bronya, fu hua, mei, sirin), believing in the humanity's inherent worth (chapter 25, arc city || elysia <- important since as a current era herrscher, she is a successor to elysia AND as kiana kaslana, she is a narrative parallel of elysia), having faith in the youth (himeko, kevin || the other flame chasers! notably su), etc.] her character being so reflective is also sooooo OUGH to think about when you view it as a reflection of honkai's 50,000 year samsara because kiana is a representation of these themes coming full circle (especially since many of these stretch back to the previous era and elysia).

SHE FEELS SO MUCH. she's so full of love and guilt. she clearly prioritizes others over herself and part of her arc is her learning to value and love herself as well!!! she would give herself for the world ten times over because she holds so much affection for humanity!! (WHILE FEELING DEHUMANIZED BECAUSE OF HER IDENTITY AS BOTH A HERRSCHER AND K423) and it's actively apart of her character's growth :'')

dear god her growth… okok. so i think first you have to understand that a lot of kiana's growth obviously coincides w general maturity as she grows from a teenager to a young adult. but aside from that i think people often forget that younger kiana is incredibly self sufficient since her father literally left her with little to no explanation when she was like. what 8? the insecurity she feels at that! the anger she has to navigate while also balancing it with her own feelings of missing and loving him. basically: kiana has struggled a lot w instability and is thus kinda good at navigating it. ex: she isnt shaken by nagazora and literally tries again and again and again to save mei and convince mei to let her help. the thing is this fucks w her a bit though because a big thing that she does as a means to cope w instability is avoiding them (not reflective of real life of course, but in the fictional hi3 this is partially represented in kiana's repressed memories about her actual origins as k423). she can not stand the realization that she killed himeko that she's so deep in denial and doesnt truly realize it until more than 10 chapters after himeko dies! she's so horrified with her being a herrscher she actively tries to not use her powers out of fear, even when it puts her in harms way (the chapter XI-EX CG!!!!!! her literally trying to kill herself!!) she literally runs away from her friends and loved ones because she's so scared of hurting them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which is why her promise to himeko to not run away is so important!! because it addresses one of kiana's biggest flaws!!!!! this is especially important bc her refusal to continue her avoidance feeds into her arc during the herrscher of dominion chapters where she both faces her own guilt/identity and deliberately chooses perseverance and hope over nihilism!! she is hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it doesn’t matter if you can fight or not, she will be extremely protective of you and there’s nothing you can do about it

After Kiana’s saved Arc City from the bomb you reunite with Mei and start to search for Kiana

HONKAI 6.4 SPOILERS!!

Aight, let's do this. My problems with Herrscher Of Finality

Okay, now first off, I actually love the designs and attack patterns! They look cool and are great. The animations look amazing and they’d be fun battlesuits to play.

They aren’t good for what they’re supposed to be though.

Bronya, Mei, and Kiana reunited! Now, against Kevin and Project stigma, they’re fighting together, getting new battlesuits along the way!

They’re a team again, after so long. A united front.

So why the HELL don’t they look like it!?

Okay so, we just had truth drop, right? She’s PEAK Bronya, they hit the nail on the head with her. She look so good!

Now, keeping in mind the united front, a proper team thing, take a look at these 3 pictures.

If you were to take a guess on which combo look like they’re going to go face the world together as an organized team, which would you choose?

Truth and Flamescoin! They look so much better together than Truth and Finality.

The clothes are similar, like an actual squad and not 2 random characters you’d throw together in a meta team.

We don’t have a good example of Mei matching with them because the whole “I’m now your enemy siding with world serpent” thing, but

ORIGIN IS NOT IT.

I have more problems with Origin than Finality, but we’ll get to that another day.

Clearly, they’re running with a white theme on the trio here, so what’s the design issues?

Well, firstly, with finality, it’s just,,,,, a dress.

I don’t even agree with the whole “Ooooh it just looks like time runner thing.”

It’s purple, and a dress… that’s it.

If anything, it looks more like grieso’s outfit due to the flowers.

But anyway, you’re going to save the world in a dress and not a combat uniform??

ESPECIALLY at the most serious point in the game??

Okay, let’s do a side dive here.

I want you to imagine this, the story is continuing, Kiana, Bronya, and Mei surpass finality, and start rebuilding the earth with everyone, they’re fighting regular honkai beasts and other stuff, and things are a lot calmer than they currently are. There aren’t too many major threats, and because of that no need for her herrscher authority. Kiana gets a new battlesuit changing from armor and power to something more casual.

And this is the result. She looks beautiful and like the moon goddess she is, with self-assured almost cocky attack patterns like stretching in the middle of battle because she knows the enemies before her will be no threat.

It’d make so much more sense for the Finality battlesuit’s appearance and attacks in that context rather than the “We’re going to war for the fate of the earth” context we currently have.

Her battlesuit would be so much better in that context, in my opinion.

At this time, in current context, honestly, Flamescoin is perfect for it, the armor fits, and the white and red looks great with Truth.

Having attacks ripping holes into reality like the charged attack of finality does would look cool and powerful as she’s sorta… ripping holes into reality sooo…

I just don't understand how they messed this up so badly.

Yet, trying to beat Flamescoin's visual fitting with Truth would have been very difficult to do.

Not like they're going to try though. :/

Herrscher of Origin 2.0: The Purposeless of Mei’s Growth

Spoilers for 6.3 and 6.4. Talks of Anti-Elysium Everlasting & (anti) Elymei.

Well, here we are I guess. Welcome to the culmination of the disappointment and decline of the Honkai universe’s writing and execution.

Mei’s Growth Pre-Flamechaser - Was the most “grown” and self-sustaining in terms of maturity and power (because of HoT persona and their bond). However, she put restraints on herself, thereby making her weaker as time went by. She was unable to do anything because of the shackles she tied to herself. Eventually, this led to a break in her character (Lament of the Fallen) where she in turn sacrificed herself to save the light of her life. She became the concept she hated, and she full fucking sent that shit! That’s our girl! When it became too much, she had to make that decision, and she took it by the throat and made it her personality. It was even better because it made sense for her to finally, finally let go of her own conviction because the ends justified the means to her, for Kiana.

The Flamechaser Arc - Mei: *angry about girlfriend dying to terminal radiation and her sacrificing herself* Flamechasers: Okay but have you heard about our lord and savior Elysia? Elysia (EE version): 🌸 👼🏻 ✨ 🌈 “by the way, I’m god” - Elymei. Uhhhh-

Moon Arc - Can we all just agree that this arc so far has been a complete flop (besides Seele, because I’m biased)? Seriously. Why do I need to become a PhD in astrophysics and electromagnetism to understand this chapter. Why dump exposition sentence after sentence that amounts to nothing but “I know you are but what am I?” It takes so much momentum out of this chapter that I scratch my head and think, “maybe I should just wait for all the chapter to be done”. It feels so padded out with philosophical nonsense pushed into a package already ready to burst. All we (at least here on Tumblr) wanted to see we’re our trio back together and kick Kevin’s ass. We’re simple people, I think. We don’t need our brains melted out with these lectures to enjoy a good, compelling story.

- Also, thanks for the retcon of Bronya no longer being a child soldier/assassin. No reason for that, so thanks for making the lore even more complicated for no reason.

- A shoutout to the translation team making me want to work for them instead because why do they not do quality assurance anymore.

- Open World is getting old. My phone shrieks in binary every time I have to load in to that stupid fucking god damn dog shit ass moon map. :)

Herrscher of Origin 2.0 - I said in an earlier post that this is a rare battlesuit that I highly dislike. Where do I even begin with this development for Mei? While I do love that Mei is the new HoO, as HI3 started with her, that’s really the only thing I actively enjoy with this development.

- Anything else about the battlesuit? I dislike. The “heavenly” theme of her suit, the lighter colors, the emphasis on Elysia, I actually hate it.

- And I hate to say I hate it, but I do. Elysia is supposed to be ka-put, gone, her and her comrades stories are O V E R. Let them rest for once.

- It feels like they’re trying to override Mei with Elysia, and it just doesn’t work. This entire shift in her personality, especially with the leaks of Mei saying she basically does not care if Kiana sacrifices herself, goes against the entire reason for her growth in the first fucking place!

- Why does Mei now have flower themes when it was never entirely relevant to her character? Bronya has technology and “coldness”, with a focus on blues, whites, and grays. This continues in her HoTr battlesuit. Kiana has her outgoing, tempered liveliness and hope, symbolized by whites, oranges, and blacks. Her symbol being the stars and fire actively fits her suits in at least some capacity through all of them. This has been her theme up to Flamescion. Now why I’m sitting here wondering why the hell Mei got this “heavenly angel” looking schtick that makes no sense. Her themes were red, black, purple, and white. And of course, lightning. This about-face turn around of punting these themes into the stratosphere isn’t growth, it’s a complete erasure of her journey and efforts to become stronger. What’s with the light blues and golds? The pinks of her eyes? Why flowers. Again? Also, the parallel between HoO Mei and Raiden Ei… how similar their battlesuits are. 🫠 end me. Mihoyo stop introducing Genshin to Honkai pleASE.

- Mei isn’t Elysia and she never will be. I need everyone to read this again. And another time. Mei might be the inheritor of the title, but Mei will not and can never be Elysia. To make Mei seem closer to Elysia is to erase everything Mei is and has done. Removing Mei’s autonomy in exchange for an Elysia cameo is downright ridiculous. Why can’t her bond with Kiana and Bronya be the trigger? Why does it have to lie in people long gone? Why can’t it be love? Love for humanity was the inspiration for Elysia, so why can’t it be love for her friends (and girlfriend)? Why, why, why does it have to always be Elysia?

- Mei’s growth has and will always be focused around learning from others. From Kiana saving her life at the very beginning of HI3, to learning the beauty and importance of life and sacrificing it with the FCs, Mei is always the mirror of another’s actions. To make Mei this… almost lassiez-faire to Kiana sacrificing herself is actually infuriating. They just got back together after half a year apart, where their parting almost meant killing each other, to now Kiana waving sacrificial-offering flags like a Naval officer, and Mei suddenly not caring anymore?! Just because you grow doesn’t mean you suddenly don’t care about things anymore! The beauty and anguish from Lament of the Fallen is due to the circumstance that Mei had no other choice but to leave to find a way to help Kiana. If she had to be the bad guy, she would be. So where the fuck does this “yeah I might’ve just reunited with my girlfriend after she tried to shoulder everything by herself, but now I couldn’t care less what she does” attitude come from.

A Little Ending Blurb I’m just, I’m so tired. After the Everlasting Flames Arc, I feel that the writing team is just blasting us to the end of this saga and not caring unless it’s a cool animation or battle scene. As someone who has been playing since global launch in 2018, it is more than just disappointing to see the quality nosedive to the level it’s at now. It’s, in my opinion, heartbreaking (as cringey/cheesy as it might sound). I’ve loved this game with so much passion and intrigue, it’s become a large point in my life. “Protect all that is beautiful in this world.” It’s served as a way to reflect on myself and my growth, especially compared to the girls who all have their threads of relatability and genuineness. I cherish these characters. I’ve laughed and I’ve most certainly cried at the art Mihoyo has created in the past that ripped out my heartstrings and played them like a harp. Honkai has really, truly touched my heart. It’s not something that a lot of media is able to do, but this one has, and it’s magical. It’s beautiful in its anguish and its sacrifices. It’s maddening in the way that it crawls underneath your skin with how human these characters are. But I hate how much it seems like this past year, that feeling has been pushed behind a curtain. Nothing seems earned or deserved or meaningful. Characters just do because they do, particularly in Mei’s case. She’s constantly ham-fisting her recollections of the Flamechasers, telling her memories to characters who’ve never heard, let alone cared, of simulations of a bygone era. Everyone’s just like, “Oh? Yeah? Mhm, sure.” And move about their next dialogue. There’s no real significance to her exposition, there’s no drive to explain what’s been happening on her end. And it sucks to see.

Sorry I’m ending it like this, but I’m frustrated. I’ll try and make another addition to this in a more eloquent way, but I just needed to get these thoughts out there.

Not many people know you, but you work behind the ‘stages’ so you gotta say people rely on you a lot even though nobody really got to know you in academy, you are a Valkyrie, the one who also protect humanity, but you never really needed on the frontline, because your specialty is to designed what the Valkyrie need to use, such as weapon and Battlesuit.

you met many people, teacher, student, any Valkyrie, but they don’t recognize you since you just one of the workers in Schiksal, moreover you still being a student, you’re not yet to officially become the worker behind the stage, but you recognize and remembers every single one that comes to the lab and ask for repairing or new design for weapons and Battlesuit, or even try to find parts for ship, like Hyperion.

still, you learned the basics to fight and you masters how to use you choice weapon, that’s why you’re in Schicksal, that’s why you gave up on your dream, because you want to protect humanity in every way, whether on frontline or behind the line.

but still, the one you recognized the most is Fu Hua, that is always being called ‘class president’ by Kiana Kaslana, to be honest, she’s the most skillful one among all the student you know all this time, surely by the facts, Kiana appear to have a higher Honkai energy based on their test, yet Fu Hua is promising to be a good Valkyrie more than Kiana Kaslana does.

every time you saw her she’s usually ask about new design for a weapon, an fortunately, you’re the one responsible on he weapon’s project

so you always find her in yo study and work time

but its not rare that you met her in lunch time or break, because she grows from day to day to know about you, she slowly open to you about many things, about the dorm, her mission, and her problem with class, to be honest, you truly enjoyed it

but not just in making weapon or battlesuit, you sometimes get a mission to gather information, or you’re being an intel, so its not rare as well to see Fu Hua asking for information before the mission start, and since you both on the same academy and stage, you’re the one responsible to tell all the information you find, since then Fu Hua trusts you a lot since you skill at information gathering is something else, its detailed and easy to understand, and doesn’t take a long time to explain, means everyone can save their time to understanding the mission

“Nice to be partner with you again as well, Fu Hua”

many of her friends start to be friend with you as well, and start pairing you with Fu Hua, such as...

she knows that you’re not that strong to be in frontline of mission, and she felt relieved everytime you ‘know your place’ and make yourself in a safe place

what she doesn’t like about you joining a mission is that when the enemy knows where you are and you sometimes doesn’t put any attention to it

she doesn’t mind protecting you, but what if she couldn’t make it?

people have their own weakness, and your weakness is you’re not so careful on your surroundings.

so when you’re decide to join a mission, she will start to find a way from a to z just for you reconsidering your choice joining the mission

she always scared that when she comes back, you wouldn’t be at you room (if she able to make you canceling you decision join the battle field)

she isn’t that kind of a brutal yandere, but the worse case she could do to you if you being a blockhead and denying her idea, she’s knock you to sleep, or sleep drugging

she felt very bad about it tho, so she doesn’t do it often to you

plus she doesn’t want you to be mad to her

worst feeling ever if you do

i think she’ll be an Asian mom who’ll cut fruit and bring it to your room as a form of ‘sorry’, not because she can’t say sorry, is just she thinks that you’ll need some time alone so she’ll cut the best fruit she got so you’re not that hungry while taking your time alone

Uhhhh I don't really get what the other anon was going for since we do know a bit on Kiana's circumstances pre-Nagazora. Siegfried saved her from Schicksal she looked about 9 years old (she hasn't actually been around for 9 years obviously since she's a clone but Otto likely accelerated her development to get more use out of her sooner), then they spent time together before Siegfried gave her her name and left. Iirc after this it's the same case in both Hi3 and GGZ where Kiana pretty much spent her years running around the world trying to find Siegfried. I can't be sure if it's still canon but in the manga we do know that Kiana went to schools in Italy, Haiti and Philippines (apparently she went to a middle school in the Philippines which is ridiculous because middle school isn't even a thing here lol, irrelevant but funny) over the years before Siegfried asked Mei's dad for a favour when she got to Japan and had her enrolled into Chiba Academy. Also this may be complete bs since I can't remember where I read it but I do remember reading how Kiana does have a genius intellect before, which might sound ridiculous except for the fact that most characters when talking about it seriously don't actually think she's stupid, just lazy and impatient. At least that's the case in Hi3, in GGZ even Cecilia would roast Kiana and she's not even a clone there lol.

Ahh!! Thank you for the information!! I didn't know that!! but God that lady went to a lot of schools— but yeah now I can see that she's probably smart but she's just lazy and impatient!!

do we know what honkai beast each flamechaser has in them?

Not every single one but for quite a few!

Kevin has genes from the Emperor-class Honkai beast Parvati, the boss in MA and the Honkai beast Theresa killed when she was only 1 year old. Parvati has ice powers thus all the red/black ice Kevin uses and the -30°C body temperature.

I'll just go down the list and start explaining every one I know in a sentence or two.

Welcome everyone to busghost explains the joke.

The first box is pretty self explanatory. Lobby 1 belongs in hell though. I once saw somebody say "use my tongue as your toilet paper" and that's the quality of statements said in Lobby 1 NA.

The Second Box begins getting a little more interesting.

Brilliant Light Fu Hua: there's a scene in the bunny girl video where Senti temporarily takes over Hua's body and feels up her own ass.

Dvalin: has a cameo in chapter 17 when Otto looks across the multiverse.

I dunno daily accounts, maybe it means playing every day.

LE/HoT/HoF Armada support: You always set your friend support as one of them because they give MASSIVE starting sp to people, unconditionally in LE's case.

Theres'a creation: This is just the Theresa Chronicle. She's a clone of Kallen with genes from the Honkai beast Vishnu. Otto was trying one of his many schemes to get Kallen back.

Genshin Appropriation: Genshiners™ only care about Honkai for the bare minimum it can provide them with Genshin Theories, don't actually know/care about the story, and treat it like a stupid little side game to the Holy Relic that is Genshin. "DAE HIMEKO IS DILUC'S MOM???" "OMG DILUC IS A COOLER HIMEKO" You've probably heard these phrases before.

Idk what the Otto homophobia is, probably people who think that Otto wanted to pursue a romantic relationship with Kallen and ignored the fact that she's gay. That opinion kinda misses out on all the nuance of Otto and Kallen's relationship.

Kiana flies herself to the Moon: I mean, she does. Characters do it a few times actually. Also Fly Me 2 the Moon was Mihoyo's first game and it's main character is Kiana.

Schicksal is the Catholic Curch: I mean that's exactly what it says. The leader is an Archbishop, the Valkyries used to dress like nuns. There are crosses everywhere and Kallen mentions that they're supposed to follow the "Good Book" a name for the Bible. They also talk about "holy" this and that and there are churches everywhere. This makes it VERY funny that Schicksal's cover story in the modern day is as a religious charity/ idol company that calls their idols Valkyries.

Unfinished stories is to general for me say anything about, I'm certain there are unfinished/abandoned plots in Honkai.

Lesbian Jesus: After Kallen dies people start regarding her as the Holy Maid who died for our sins to save everyone... Sound similar to certain Christian religious figure?

Joachim Nokianvertanen: The name Welt Yang was given by his parents. He adopted the Name Welt after taking up the responsibilities of being the Herrscher of Reason. Yang is his mother's maiden name.

Adam x Mei/Bronya shippers exist: self explanitory and gross! they really did go "unlesbians your gays". Also Adam is a minor.

Durandal's Age: the origins of Bianka are known now but before the only thing we knew about Bianka's age was that Jan 1st, 2000 was a placeholder since she had no memories. This led to plenty of people calling Rita a pedophile for being in a relationship with, even though Bianka is clearly not 16-17. It's over now, We know how old she is, 19 nearly 20.

where do you think the cast falls on a morality scale? chaotic neutral, etc. for previous era and now? especially Rita after seeing some discussions on here

Well that’s a. good question! because it depends on how you interpret those moral values in the first place.

For example, if I take the interpretation that chaotic is “follows internal rules” vs lawful “follows external rules”, and good is “prioritizes others over self” while evil is simply “prioritizes self over others”—

Rita is arguably chaotic good, despite, yaknow, being an assassin under Otto’s orders and having zero problem murdering people for the sake of Schicksal’s efficiency. Why? Because she doesn’t think twice about trying to double cross Otto for Bianka, and she more than once puts herself in danger for the sake of innocents (good), and she always follows her maid credo, so she’s on internal rules even if those internal rules lead to her following external rules when it suits her: following Otto’s orders or being very polite etc. (chaotic)

But like, on pure vibes alone, I’d slap Rita in the lawful evil corner. Like, a maid who’s also an assassin sounds exactly like what Lawful Evil should be. You get me?

Sooo between character interpretation, method of alignement determination, and your personal definition for those alignements, you can make a case for even of opposite alignments!

That’s the beauty of literary analysis, isn’t it.

Since it’s the one I defined I’m gonna keep going with that simplistic selfishness vs selflessness and laws vs principles alignment definition.

This is PURELY MY BARELY THOUGHT-THROUGH OPINION, if y’all disagree, great, tell me EXACTLY why you think what you think. There’s no wrong answers, only fun.

Kiana: Chaotic Good. She never gives two fucks what the rules are, and she’ll save everyone she meets. No brainer.

Mei: Lawful Good in the beginning— cares about following rules and keeping order, cares for everyone. Neutral Evil after her awakening as HoT. Evil because I put down prioritizing one person over the entire world as selfish, even if it’s technically a selfless action. Why not Chaotic? Well she’s kind of dropped her own principles entirely. She’ll just do what she has to do. She canonically kills and incinerates child traffickers, but without a trial. Moral value no longer matters terribly to her: Neutral. Hence Neutral Evil.

Bronya: That’s kind of a toughie. She’s very kind and selflessly cares for those around her, but she also frequently breaks traffic laws in adulthood, so I’m gonna say Neutral Good.

Fu Hua: Lawful Good. That girl hasn’t had a selfish thought in centuries, and she’s always been one to act for the greater good and follow other people’s orders.

Theresa: Mmmm kind of a toughie. She’s one of the most mature characters at the end of the day… Considering her dedication to keeping the kids safe she’s definitely Good. Definitely not Lawful but she doesn’t give me a Chaotic vibe considering her role as Principal, so I’m gonna say Neutral Good.

Seele: Lawful Good. Fairly obvious to me. Very selfless girl. Follows rules, does her chores. Good girl! Her rebellious moment in Azure Waters literally involved asking for permission. Has she ever broken a rule on purpose

Seele: Chaotic Evil. Also fairly obvious. Cares about practically no one but Seele. Mischievous and willing to torture 12 years olds for revenge. What’s a law? Puppets are for hitting, and claws are for shredding.

Rita: Chaotic Good for reasons explained above but she cosplays as Lawful Evil for fun.

Bianka: Lawful Good. Kinda hard to put into words but I feel like that’s relatively obvious

Himeko: Chaotic Good queen. Rest in peace

Raven: True Neutral. Okay so here me out. She’s selfish in the sense that she does whatever she wants for her own benefit, even murder, but she also displays very selfless behavior (with her kids, but also the sims) so she’s not evil. And she’s not following her own principles tightly enough to be Chaotic but she’s also too much of a free-thinking soul for Lawful. Hence: True Neutral.

Okay I think that’s enough character for CE! PE time! Let’s do the guys first.

Kevin: Lawful Neutral. He ain’t got no principles to follow, it’s Mei’s rules and nothing else. You could argue his actions are selfless but he admits himself that their root is selfish and he never cared about saving humanity, so like, yeah. Lawful Neutral.

Kalpas: Chaotic Neutral. He oscillates between wanting to murder people and being enraged by a child’s death. His own principles are all he cares about behavior wise.

Su: Lawful Good. Another one who’s never broken a rule in his life. A good doctor who really wanted to save all those dead people even if it killed him.

Elysia: ???????? We don’t actually know her true motivations. Imma say Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral.

Eden: Neutral Good. Doesn’t not respect rules but she also kind of does whatever she wants according to her own principles? Doesn’t display selfishness, always thinking of everyone else’s good until… yeah.

Sakura: Hmmm idk! Lawful Neutral? The only time she really follows her own principles over The Rules is when it comes to her sister. She kills people but with no personal feelings involved beyond not wanting them to die not knowing why, and she goes out to save civilians… yeah Lawful Neutral works.

Mobius: Chaotic to a fault. Mmm hard to say whether she’s selfless or selfish, because she doesn’t make a difference between herself and others— she works on treat others like you would yourself but she doesn’t actually treat herself all that well. Self-experimenting and all. Her stated goal is to help humanity transcend the gods, but the reason she’s doing it is personal (or maybe ideological?). She wouldn’t recklessly endanger herself to give someone else protection (wears protective equipment when watching Kalpas fight Kevin and her assistant complains about wanting some of that), but she also risked her life to retrieve Klein after the 11th Herrscher shut her down, and she apparently never does on someone else something she hasn’t tried on herself first. Hmmm I’m gonna say Chaotic Neutral for now, tho leaning more towards Evil than Good.

How dare you not want Senti to have a chance at developing her own character?

We have never seen Senti be Senti. We have only seen Senti be Hua. In chapter 25 they were in a vacuum, and it's likely that Senti fell back into what she knew; imitating Hua.

But what if Hua died? What if Hua died protecting a lot of people? What if that included Senti? How would Senti move on from that? How would she react? And most importantly; now that Hua is dead, would she keep trying to copy her, or would she be able to honor Hua's sacrifice and finally be herself?

I want to see Senti with Fu Hua's body but in a world where she can't attempt to be Hua. I want to see Senti be Senti.

That is why I want to see Fu Hua die. Not because I hate her, she's one of my favorite characters. But because I really want to see who Senti would be when she is just being herself.

Especially in a story where Herrscher personas are killed off for the character development of the human personas.

3rd Herrscher died for Mei.

HoV died for Kiana.

Senti has already been MIA for 3 chapters.

I hate how they just get rid of Herrscher personas once they have caused the 'main character' to develop enough. It's so stupid and I hate it. They are treated like a problem that gets removed. Not as a character. And I hate it.

Hua and Senti would (idealy) be similar to how Himeko died. Himeko's death caused Kiana's character to bloom into who she is now (and bonus points because Himeko was treated as an actual character by the story)

Compare that to how the 3rd Herrscher was treated. A line in chapter 1 against the Emperor. A few dialogues confirming that Mei's finally ready to do something to save Kiana (chapter 7 to 8). And a conversation with Mei, where she also dies (chapter 17)

Thats where the 3rd Herrscher appears. No motived, no reasons for just sitting back, she just talks to Mei then dies and hands her powers to Mei. (At least AE Invasion treated her better).

And HoV. God I love my little Sirin child, but she does not even speak after chapter 14 until chapter 25 (if she does, please remind me). Yes she is a threat in 16 and 17, but she doesnt say a peep. And in 25 they kill her off after arguing with Kiana.

Worse yet is that this is happening to Senti right now. Disappeared after 22 when Hua got her body back. Appeared in 25 to serve as Hua's source of stength. Not heard from since.

There is not a small chance that they will end it there. Senti got so pissed at Hua that she just left to live in someone else's mind across the world and we never see her again.

This whole post might sound negative, but don't get me wrong, I love all these characters. I just dont like how some of them were treated by the story. Especially regarding how the Herrscher personas are just discarded. They serve as the yin in the yang (I got no idea which one is the black and white in yin and yang. But Herrschers served as that dark in the good. Balancing it out.)

What's your favourite chapter in Honkai main story?

Spoilers for Chapter 11-EX onward

I'm not very good with words and being eloquent when it comes to feelings but oh boy! This chapter made me feel so much.

I know it's the darkest chapter by far and contains a suicide attempt but I just love how well written it is and how it made me feel so much empathy and concern for Kiana.

How the Herrscher forces Kiana further and further on her downward spiral and Kiana refusing Fu Hua's help when she needs it most. It was very relatable to how I've felt in the past (although I didn't have a Herrscher trying to take over my body).

And then what really saves Kiana isn't any of Fu Hua's attempts to reason with her but rather when Fu Hua is just there for her and tells her not to despair. It didn't take any grand speech or any bells and whistles, Fu Hua was just there for her and a reminder of Himeko's determination to save her get's Kiana through the night. It also starts Kiana's journey on the path toward self-destruction which is a great character arc even if it's full of pain for Kiana and Mei, who leaves because of Kiana's actions. Then it culminates in Kiana not letting Fu Hua sacrifice herself once she realizes that dying to save others can do far more harm than good and it's just

Love is stored in the Kiana and I love her.

I’m gonna state my unpopular Honkai opinion.

I absolutely hate the Herrscher of the Void.

I don’t mean Kiana/Sirin but the other personality living in her head. Everytime I say Kiana or Sirin I am referring to the main character as they are the same person, if I say Herrscher of the Void I’m referring to the omnicidal sadist that appears in her head after she wakes up in the K423 body. The Herrscher wasn’t even there until she woke up again.

I know lots of people like her especially on Reddit and on here too, but the whole torturing Kiana through chapter 11-ex really solidified it for me. Yeah she’s a cool villain but

Do you want to get this body back and save the girl? You are, right? Is she a loved friend and a member of your little family? Did you build sweet little memories together? Made any lasting promises? If that's the case... Then I shall kill her precious family with her hands and body. Those of you who loved her and are trying to save her... you shall drink from the chalice of pain, sorrow and despair, and endure the most gruesome death of this world. I shall shatter your beautiful memories and transform them into a hellscape of despair and pain. She will then witness your mangled and defiled bodies. She will be drowned in your blood before I smother her out for good. She will die in agony and sorrow as I enjoy myself with her tears. Family, friends, happiness, memories, dreams, hope, future, love... She does not deserve it. She is unworthy of this. She will never get these. And I shall start with you. My dearest Mei, you are the other half of my desires, the burning passion of my soul. Embrace me! Join your strength with mine and give me POWER to destroy this world! To make the creator cry! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! This thunderclap is music to ears! Come! Offer yourself to your Goddess! We hereby the Judgment Day!

I can’t just look past that?

Also her “dearest Mei” wasn’t even talking to Mei herself but to how she wanted to and did rip the Gem of Conquest out of Mei’s chest.

And chapters 5 and 6!

She uses the 8th Divine Key powers she stole from Fu Hua during the 2nd Honkai War to fulfill Kiana’s dream. Meeting her mother! The whole reason Sirin woke up in the cloned body was because she wanted to be loved again like Cecilia did in the dream world. The Herrscher of the Void lets Kiana reunite believing it was real because that’s what Fenghuang Down does, and then takes it all away from her. She even twists Cecilia’s last words/words of comfort “Ich Liebe Dich” to hurt Kiana.

Since I mentioned chapter 11-EX I’ll go all in on that too. The Herrscher of the Void spends the entire chapter gaslighting Kiana, trying to make her believe that nobody cares for her, all her loved ones wish to kill her, making her believe she’s just a worthless vessel for the Herrscher and that she should just give control to her so she can get revenge for both of them.

SHE DRIVES KIANA TO ATTEMPTING SUICIDE!

THAT’S FUCKED.

Everything the Herrscher of the Void is is the antithesis or Sirin’s character development and wishes from the instant she re-entered the world in her new body. Kiana is full of love and wants to protect those she cares about to the point of being idiotically self-sacrificial and the Herrscher of the Void can’t even be considered human with how she views the world. Sure Sirin/Kiana used to be that person during the 2nd Honkai War but even then she showed signs of caring about people like Cecilia and Bella. She was just a traumatized child, and with her second chance at life she was raised with love and she’s become a beautiful person. Our Sirin/Kiana might be more of Kaslana than the original Kiana winds up being. The Herrscher of the Void is none of those.
