The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966)

After watching Nefarious, you are definitely going to want something more lighthearted to help peel yourself off the wall...that's where TGMC comes in. Set in the quaint but fictitious heartland town of Rachel, Kansas, this is the story of one Luther Heggs, a timid typesetter for the local newspaper, who yearns for something more in life and finds himself drawn into the murder-suicide mystery surrounding the spooky old Simmons Mansion, the local haunted house, in which he has to spend a fright-filled night. This has been a long time favorite of mine since childhood and I love putting it on on Saturday afternoons when doing my cooking. It's an easy, enjoyable watch that's also family friendly....Enjoy! Oh....Don't bother watching this on a certain Saturday night Creature Feature that shall remain nameless...in order to add time for commercials and frivolity, it edits out pieces of the movie that are not necessarily key to the story but which add flavor to it.

This film inspired a short-lived craze for yelling out "Attaboy, (name)" during speeches and other situations. This came from a running gag used in this film. It has been yelled out in several films.
