Truthfully, honestly, genuinely ONE of my favourite Assassins Creed games; I know that might be a rather controversial statement considering lots of people i’ve come across don’t really consider these games to be “TRUE” AC games but, regardless; the characters (most of them, at least lol), the setting, the time period, the soundtrack, the locations; all of it just hit so deep for me. I’ve always been a huge sucker for Greco-Egyptian history and this one reached such a nice itch inside my brain. Such a beautiful (in my opinion) display of a cultural time period I so yearn to experience firsthand.
Do you have any good resources/references/advice for drawing (late republican) Roman clothing? I want to draw a couple of historical figures but thinking about drawing a toga makes me feel like 😖😖😖...
-Costumes of the Greeks and Romans, Thomas Hope
-Greek and Roman Fashions, Tom Tierney
-The World of Roman Costume, ed. Judith Lynn Sebesta and Larissa Bonfante.
-Decorative Symbols and motifs for Artists and Craftsmen/Decorative Patterns of the Ancient World, Dover Publications
-photos & videos from reenactors and reenactment events
-build a screenshot reference library from movies and shows that have costume designs you like, that kind of thing. grab a blanket and wrap yourself up in it toga style and take a photo if you need a specific angle. etc. museums usually have a lot of their galleries online, and places like the met often shoot statues from multiple sides.
I had to fix AC1 because it's one of the old games that has no tolerance above 60 FPS and for that there were strange physics and the game crashed after 15-30 minutes. Now AC1 is running great! <3
Then I thought I could try modifying Altaïr's head texture in AC1 thanks to AnvilToolkit and I managed to do it!
Look at his precious face! <3
Comparison:
And a few screenshots as a mini bonus! :3
I know he was just blinking, but it looks like Altaïr was bored of his master's words. xD
Alty, honey... You shouldn't be on table…
Altaïr is so afraid of water that he learned to walk on it...
So sunny. ☀️
Oh hello, handsome~ <3
Just blending in with the crowd and chilling.
And also here is my random old AC1 clip (it's cringy, sorry). :P
i made some art based on an ask I sent @teecupangel awhile ago, about what conduits certain assassins would be in an infamous/assassins creed crossover, and they had some cool ideas that I thought would be interesting to draw
I cannot draw bodies very well (yet) so I did a headshot for each character we discussed, Altair was the first I drew, so he’s the first posted! (Most powers are based off of vibes in my case, as I haven’t played most of the games)
we both figured that glass would be an interesting power for Altair, somewhat flashy and more fragile than concrete, yet SHARP enough to cause some serious damage. The glass itself is based off of the dup concept art for infamous second son, where they used glass instead of concrete.
(I’m gonna post each assassin, one per day, but I don’t know if it’ll be separately or in one post. One post is what I usually do, but.. idk)
"Uphold the principles of our order and all that for which we stand, never share our secrets nor divulge the true nature of our work. Do so, until death - whatever the cost. This is my new creed. I am Shay Patrick Cormac, Templar of the Colonial... of the American rite. I am an older man now, and perhaps wiser. A war and a revolution have ended, and another is about to begin. May the father of understanding guide us all."
